Assisted deaths in Canada:
The Canadian Government is now (said to be) responsible for 4.1 or 4.2 % of all deaths in the country.
That is a lot. Overkill?

Nuclear warheads
Ever since Mordechai Vanunu spilt the beans in 1986 it has been known that they do. However, Israel has always tried to play down the number (and size). If you multiply the number of years by a given production number it gives quantities in the hundreds. Even in 1987 the total was supposed to already be about 200, so how many more have been made since, is unknown. (Even at a steady rate of not less than 5 more per year).

During my time in South Africa (early 80s) it was common knowledge the French and israelis were involved at Pelindaba.
I see the current Wikipedia is a whitewash placing the blame on Pakistan while demoting French and israeli involvement to mere rumour …

@41
I saw the video of the Yemen explosion and don’t think the bright speckles have anything to do with gamma. Gama will be unaffected by orientation of the camera as they easily pass through a plastic camera case whatever the orientation. The case is if anything less absorbent than a glass lens.
The speckle looked to me like shiny fragments from debris of rocket munitions cases.
Also no initial blinding flash.

Your son, your friends anyone who supports the apartheid murdering land grabbers , slavers and genociders ought to be asked, no forced, to look at this in clockwork orange fashion with their eyes stapled wide open.
First the big lie falling to pieces about killed Israeli babies :

Warning there have been about 5,000 babies and children killed . It’s one thing when they die a fast violent death terrorised beyond endurance but it’s a whole new circle of hell when they are left undead and the hospital has been blown up and the doctors can’t do much. Read the sentiment- Don’t watch – if you want to sleep.
SERIOUSLY.
If he still thinks he knows best or when he stops puking watch this so he understands why he thinks what he thinks. There are many many other sources tell him to go find them himself.

I imagine the only reason Bibi didn’t fire that minister was because firing him would have caused the collapse of the coalition that keeps him in power. So the minister was only suspended, no doubt with the understanding that he’ll be reinstated once the coast is clear.

That piece by As’ad abu Khalil in Consortium News is also very good. Thanks. As for predictions, how about this one:
“In fact, it is likely that new Palestinian organizations will be born out of the horrors of Gaza.
Many angry boys and men will join existing organizations or will form new ones dedicated to avenging the deaths of over 11,000 people thus far.”
As Norman Finkelstein said, as it is in Gaza, what can a boy become in Gaza except a shaheed when there is no work?

David Albright and Chris McGreal reported that South African projects to develop nuclear weapons during the 1970s and 1980s were undertaken with long-term cooperation from Israel.[26][27][28] The United Nations Security Council Resolution 418 of 4 November 1977 introduced a mandatory arms embargo against South Africa, also requiring all states to refrain from “any co-operation with South Africa in the manufacture and development of nuclear weapons”.[29]

—————————————————————
And of course, South Africa did have nuclear weapons courtesy of Israel. The white apartheid government destroyed its nuclear weapons, and programs, just before the election of Nelson Mandela, when the ANC was swept into power via the first all-race election in South African history in May 1994. It was the last great act of white supremacy by white National Party before leaving office, hopefully for the last time.

Perhaps more appropriate for the Palestine thread is my “Zionism: The Cult and Its Adherents”. The idea was spawned by johnny rotten’s lead comment at this Martyanov blog thread. Both Canfield’s and Sizer’s books are online at the Internet Archive, and Sizer has his own website.

Aaron Mate with a follow-up on his “tense exchange” with Senator Coons on board the train from which the former was forcibly removed.

And more on dishonest coverage of that exchange, the Grayzone in general, and the usual Bezos Post lies.

Twenty years ago, I tutored and acted as editor for a student at Monterey’s Naval Postgraduate School whose thesis paper was about the linkage between South Africa, Occupied Palestine and the Outlaw US Empire and their WND programs which was based on archival documents I still have on my oldest, currently inaccessible, computer. The level of involvement was extremely deep and very illegal as it was in violation of many treaties.

Re the piece in consortium news that has been linked several times.
There are a number of factors that go against it. For and foremost would be the Salman father and son pivot to Russia and China. Very early on, both made their pilgrimage to Moscow to meet with Putin. They now sell oil to China for yuan. Trumps Arab Nato? China has brought about reconciliation between SA and Iran. Arab Nato was for the sole purpose of war against Iran. The gulf Arab states still have tread very carefully as US has huge military bases in the area. None of these states have much that resembles an army plus they are mostly equipped with US weapons systems.
What is becoming clearer is that military actions against Israel will be under the cover of non state actors. The population are fully supportive of Gaza/Palestine. I assume it will be up to them to join or form groups of non state actors and for the leaders of the Arab states to prevent US destruction of their country while supporting the non state actors.

Re Israeli tanks. How many destroyed vs how many repairable. I have only seen a few videos and none showed the aftermath of the strike. Several were hit in the ammo compartment at the back of the turret. These generally have blowout panels. Much may depend on whether the door for accessing the ammo is open or closed when hit.
Unless the tank is seen burning some minutes after the strike it is difficult if not impossible to know if they have been destroyed or are repairable. Still, virtually any strike would get a tank off the battlefield for repairs.
Posted by: Peter AU1 | Nov 14 2023 17:55 utc | 80
Unless the introduced a new version of the Merkava IV since 2006 that I missed as far it can be told there are no blowout panels on israeli tanks, ammunition is mostly carried within the crew compartment in the hull albeit the rounds are kept in containers four a piece that might offer a little bit of extra protection: if there is a strong penetration there the crew has a good chance to get roasted, especially if they have stuck to their habit of bringing along more ammunition than usual western practice.

In that piece by Aaron Maté I read a few lines about our favourite topic the Uyghurs. I don’t know what The Grayzone’s hangup with them is but here goes:
The Post also claimed that The Grayzone has claimed “that the Chinese Communist Party is not oppressing the Uyghur community in the Xinjiang province.” This is another false claim: The Grayzone has never made such an assertion, and has in fact cited experts who describe China’s policies against Uyghurs as “cruel,” and “repressive.” The Grayzone has challenged the US government’s claim that China is committing “genocide” in Xinjiang, and its reporting on the topic has never been refuted.

Re: attempted discussion between Aaron Mate and Senator Coons:
From the get-go Coons indicated he would not allow any discussion of the issue of killing babies in Palestine and international law, and did so with an arrogant, boss-like attitude. Why not have a discussion on this matter? Trot out your view of it as a senator, a representative supposedly of the people. If you’re so sure of yourself and your humane views as a senator let us hear these views. Aaron was polite. He was insistent, sure, but he had a point. This is vital matter, a very serious matter in which the US reputation throughout the world at this time is declining, seriously declining. This airy, dismissive, superior attitude–instead of an opportunity for a discussion. Apparently he had nothing rational in his arsenal to discuss with, and so we have the style of a fatigued, irritable school teacher with a school boy.

A week or two for what? The destruction of Israel, or the completion of the genocide of Gaza, or Israel running out of steam, or any new stage in Israeli US-sponsored insanity?
No, I don’t think anything will be over in two weeks unless we’re all dead, the entire planet.
Neither do I believe the Israelis are feeling much pressure, sadly so.
Neither do I believe any of the “powers” are making wonderful deals or preparations behind the scenes, again sadly so.
I do think humanity might have thrown away its future during this past month. We have witnessed a new low (and we weren’t doing well to begin with). I am of course not talking about anyone who clearly opposes and/or are fighting what has happened but (nearly all) nations doing not much more than voicing weak diplomatic concerns doesn’t cut it, not by a long shot.

Particularly confusing and unclear, to me at least, is what is happening around the hospital complex that has been under siege with devastatingly brutal consequences. Senator Coons, what about this, what’s your view of it? We have supposedly skirmishing going on between IDF and Hamas, with accusations of an underground complex, a rat’s nest of Hamas abetted by the hospital. This paranoid bit of ju-jitsu is denied by hospital officials of long standing, but it seems reasonable the assault on the hospital complex brought forth Hamas fighters “into the environs” I believe the expression is. Should they have withdrawn due to the threat to the hospital? Perhaps so. We had snipers through the windows killing responders tending to the wounded and babies. Those trying to leave the hospital were shot. Bodies are piling up around, with wild dogs now getting at the corpses. Fuel and water, internet, electricity cut off. Time is running short in saving the lives inside this complex. Crooke today had a piece in UNZ on the elephant in the room (or on the train with Aaron) on all this as the world watches people like Coons and Netanyahu justify or sneer over their savagery. I’d say it’s a fucking herd of elephants at this point.

Agree with you completely.
Coons and all the rest of those elected bodies and their assorted friends inside the beltway are supposed to be the best and brightest among us and yet they can’t form a sentence about the tragedy now occurring in the middle east. At this point, I have little more than contempt for, if not all, then close to all of them.

Mads Gilbert the Norwegian Doctor and- to put it very mildly- human rights activist who has often been mentioned here by one of his neighbours, I believe it was the poster Norwegian, is featured at Scheer Post today.
One Mads Gilbert makes up for a dozen Quislings and Stoltenbergs.

True to form Reuters has the posting up with the following title
Demonstrators in Washington back Israel, denounce antisemitism
The picture they show is taken at an angle that misrepresents the numbers of participants (being lots) as well.
Will Reuters just go away when the God Of Mammon bullies are taken down?

“Coons and all the rest of those elected bodies and their assorted friends inside the beltway are supposed to be the best and brightest among us”
Realizing the sarcastic tone, I doubt most even view them that way. In the majority of cases, elected reps are the dregs of the sycophant class, many achieving the level of psychopath. Especially in the US where choices are giant douche or shit sandwich. If their knees are not covered with bruises from fellating the banksters, MIC and zionists they are primaried, herded and shamed out of office – see Rashida Tlaib.

I’m not sure you have the knowledge required for the Chinese muslim issue. You switch between usa state department talking points and play devils advocate with WUC statements. NED national endowment of democracy . A cia front has a website showing they fund the WUC . Their map even shows xianjing as a separate state in China. I have read an old 1980s west point military academy essay on how usa funds separatist activity, so it’s well accepted . Then there’s isis. Many travelled there to do their training with isis. Much documented that chinese guys had their own area to take wives and steal from. Theres even photo images the msm published and video of the language as proof they were there. Over the last few years as a person living in Asian region , multiple bombing in Malaysia Thailand ( bomb in garbage bin I barely survived ) Singapore are all attributed to these guys , they often embedded with the local separatist movement on south Thailand and make the trouble there.

China did for a time ban immans from Saudi who were wahhibists. They have state approved mosques, and arrest those that operate outside of the rules and moderate teachings, I guess the whole wahhabism and terrorism is beyond most to understand as wahhabism teaches suicide bombing is OK. Moderate Islam teaches its a sin. But as an atheist I find it all tedious with exemptions and circular rules for attaining the golden ticket. Best just not be an asshole in this life.
Even Indonesia the largest Muslim population on earth had a few bombers and troubles but nipped that in the bud by shutting the mosques that taught isis type material and banning the imported sunni immans that promoted it.

“ANDREW ROBERTS HISTORIAN TELEGRAPH 30 October 2023”
«The sole exception to this sensible and mature policy of moving on from national catastrophe have been the Palestinian extremists»
And the zionists — same origin, same attitude. The zionists west asians have been wishing each other for nearly 2,000 “next year we shall meet in Jerusalem”, so the palestinian west asians have started doing that too. Will it take nearly 2,000 years?
«whose irredentism and recurring intifadas – and whose latest sadistic eruption in southern Israel»
The HAMAS propaganda operation to support Likud’s continued power in Israel seems to have been popular with deluded palestinians as a small anticipation of when the future when a new “Saladin” will push back the new “crusaders”, maybe in 100-200 years, maybe in 1,000 to 2,000 years. But that will not likely happen to Israel: it is just a corrupt, fascist, country like most other west asian countries (and nuclear armed), its citizens by now as native palestinians as their victims, the result of conquest and occupation like most others (Anatolia and southern Caucausus by the turks, the Levant and Egypt and northern Africa by the arabs), except Armenia, Kurdistan (ah!) and Iran.
«have turned much of Gaza City into rubble»
Actually the atrocities against Gaza (much less brutal than those by UK and USA against Germany or Japan in WW2 for example) were the result of the overreaction by Israel’s fascist government. That overreaction was obviously the intended secondary effect of the HAMAS attack, but that just means that they share part of the responsibility, the main part is the responsibility is with the fascist Israeli government (supporting that government.seems to me to have been the primary motivation of the HAMAS attack).
«Until the Palestinians are finally able to accommodate themselves to that fact that Israel is here to stay, they can never find contentment.»
There is the roman classical institution of “deditio” (unconditional surrender and submission, as applied after WW2 to the germans, the italians, the japanese and their allies, or earlier to the native inhabitants of both Americas, etc.). As “dediticii” the lives of the palestinians will not find much contentment, but perhaps it will be better than being living targets in Gaza and eastern Palestine (Cisgiordania, “West Bank”).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dediticii
But again the palestinian are all waiting for Saladin to reappear, no matter how long it takes, they can wait nearly 2,000 years like the zionists did.

Thanks. I take it though that the box behind the turret is the ammunition storage? I saw one blow in one video, a Hamas fighter run out and placed some sort of grenade on the tank under that compartment and the explosion appeared to detonate the ammunition as well.

The massive carpet bombing of Gaza appears to have slowed or stopped now. At least I am not seeing reports of it. Most fighting now on the frontlines and I would assume close air support there.
Maps of the frontline appears largely unchanged for a number of days now at it appears that shortly after IDF started moving into high density urban area, Hamas has come into its own and the IDF offensive has stalled.

Seeing the Merkava tanks fighting alone without cover from infantry is quite extrange, I am sure the Israelis know very well what happen to an armor column in a city full of rubble without infrantry protection in the era of RPG’s and ATGM’s….
May be what we are seeing are a lot of unmanned Merkava tanks and other armored “carriers” shooting rounds and also making the palestinians fighters shoot at them to be wiped out by the air force (drones, choppers, fighters planes); this could be the result of a combination of aversion of the IDF to human losses and an unending stream of economic gifts from the Big Brother’s tax payers (US).
If I were Hamas or Hezbollah I will try to have as many portable jamming devices as possible in the front.

That’s only half correct: she has been arrested but 2 weeks ago, can’t give you the exact date but it wasn’t November, somewhere around 20th-30th October…
Anyway, Germany is becoming quite totalitarian. Protests are verboten, readings/lectures get cancelled, authors get cancelled, the propaganda in the news and on political talk shows is more than disgusting. Now they are starting special pro-Israel educational courses in schools, yes, really!
Oh, and just mentioning that Israel is occupying palaestinian land publicly can get you in trouble. I just want to leave this country, I’m done with it 🙁

Not so fast.
Opening speech by High Representative/Vice-President Josep Borrell, Nov 6

[….]
We are in an intermediate position. We are not a full-fledged great power. We are not a military alliance. We are not even a state. But we are much more than a regional power. And in this world, everyone is trying to bargain with everyone. There is not a clear consensus on values and on desirable outcomes.
[…]
So, how can we explain such blindness? How can we interpret these contradictions? For me, the crux of the matter is that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is no longer an Israeli-Arab conflict. Now, it is becoming a religious or civilisation fight. I was listening yesterday to President Erdoğan threatening the West, saying “Look, do you want again the fight between the crescent and the crusaders?”—le croissant et les croisés. These are strong words, and we have to do everything we can in order to avoid this confrontation.

We are not the outpost of the Western world. We are the keepers of global and shared values based on the United Nations Charter. And this is the alpha and omega LOL! of my message. We are the keepers of global and shared values based on the United Nations Charter. Everywhere, every time. This is our message. It is not the West against the rest. It is the values of the United Nations Charter as the best ground of multilateralism.
Please convey this message loudly. Knowing that every country in the South has its own circumstances and values and they consider that they have no reason to place the Ukrainian challenge above their own priorities, which are related to climate change, digital transition, indebtedness. And they want a better representation within multilateral institutions.

Thank you.If you are right there are quite a few places in need of correction. It makes one wonder what went wrong in France.

That’s only half correct: she has been arrested but 2 weeks ago, can’t give you the exact date but it wasn’t November, somewhere around 20th-30th October…

You are right, thanks for correction. I just took the content from MEM without double-checking the fact.
I found this on reddit with her foto, it was before or around 1st November in Berlin:

Anyway, Germany is becoming quite totalitarian. Protests are verboten, readings/lectures get cancelled, authors get cancelled, the propaganda in the news and on political talk shows is more than disgusting. Now they are starting special pro-Israel educational courses in schools, yes, really!
Oh, and just mentioning that Israel is occupying palaestinian land publicly can get you in trouble. I just want to leave this country, I’m done with it 🙁

Didn’t people get in trouble for less? Getting called “antisemite” (a serious slur in Germany) for stuff like “Ceasefire now!” or mentioning the loss of human life in Gaza? The current German government is the worst in a long chain of transatlantic governments… I disliked Westerwelle (FDP foreign secretary) so much but he kept Germany out of the Libya war — unthinkable today.
Agree that “totalitarian” is the word to use. People often dismiss this as crazy, and they think of 1942 or so. But it started in the 1930s and we have no idea how far they’re willing to go (looks like very far at the moment).
