One Religion’s War Against All Others

Alastair Crooke in Al Mayadeen:

Israeli popular sentiment — even amongst former liberals — is moving toward a Greater Nakba. Gaza is under Nakba pressures. So is the West Bank, as settler violence against Palestinians surges. Even a ‘liberal’ such as former opposition leader Lapid now agrees that ‘settlers’ in the occupied West Bank are not ‘settlers’ at all, since the land is but the ‘Biblical land of Israel’.

Nakba ‘ambitions’ are widening to South Lebanon (up to the Litani River) too. The radical members of Netanyahu’s government say Israelis will never return to the kibbutz adjacent to Lebanon, without Hezbollah’s removal from the border area.

So, the call is heard for "Israel" to ‘take’ Lebanon up to the Litani (a key water source) — and ‘serendipitously’ the Israeli air force has begun operating up to 40 kms inside Lebanon. Cabinet members now openly speak of the IOF needing to turn its attention to Hezbollah once Hamas has been ‘obliterated’.

Plainly, the White House is struggling to avoid the slide towards full regional war, as both the Lebanese front and the Iraqi front heats up: On Sunday, Iraqi movements again fired missiles at the American base in Shaddadi.

"Israel" is sensing the present crisis to be both an existential risk, but an ‘opportunity’ too – an opportunity to establish "Israel" across ‘its Biblical lands’ over the long term. There is no mistaking it — this is the direction of travel of Israeli popular sentiment, from both Left and Right wings, to bloody eschatology.

As I had pointed out three weeks ago President Joe Biden had supported that Israeli Nakba strategy before he was forced to pull back:

US 'actively working' to establish safe corridor for Gaza civilians: White HouseYeni Safak – Oct 12, 2023 The US is in active talks with Israel and Egypt to establish "safe passage" corridors for civilians in Gaza to flee ongoing Israeli airstrikes, the White House said Wednesday amid an expected ground offensive in the besieged enclave.

"We're actively discussing this with our Israeli and our Egyptian counterparts, we support safe passions for civilians. Civilians are not to blame for what Hamas has done. They didn't do anything wrong," National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters at the White House.

"We are actively working on this with Egyptian and our Israeli counterparts. Civilians are protected under the laws of armed conflict, and they should be given every opportunity to avoid the fighting," he added.

Israel is continuously squeezing the 2.3 million people in Gaza towards the Egyptian border:

Israel drops leaflets warning people to flee southern Gaza townsGuardian – Nov 16 2023

Israel has dropped leaflets into southern Gaza telling Palestinian civilians to leave four towns on the eastern edge of Khan Younis, raising fears that its war against Hamas could spread to areas it previously said were safe. The flyers told civilians in Bani Shuhaila, Khuza’a, Abassan and al-Qarara that anyone in the vicinity of militants or their positions was “putting his life in danger”, local people told Reuters.

The UN’s human rights chief, Volker Türk, said that five weeks into the war, “massive outbreaks of infectious disease, and hunger” seemed inevitable in the densely populated Palestinian territory. He predicted catastrophic consequences if fuel supplies ran out, including the collapse of sewage systems and healthcare and an end to the already scarce supplies of humanitarian aid.

The intentionally created misery will be used to put pressure on Egypt and others to open their borders for refugees. Then the same method will be applied in the West Bank. South Lebanon up the Litani river is a more difficult matter as Hizbullah, once unleashed, is a real existential thread to Israel. The rick there is to get the U.S. to do the bloody work.

And all this would not stop there as some extremist settlers want even more foreign land:

What are the borders of that Jewish nation?

The borders of the homeland of the Jews are the Euphrates in the east and the Nile in the southwest. [This would include the territory of multiple Middle Eastern countries as well as the territory that Israel controls today.]

There’s a Palestinian slogan that has become very controversial: “From the river to the sea,” which means from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. It’s controversial because it would include all the land that currently makes up Israel. But you’re saying from the river to the—

What is controversial?

Palestinians sometimes use the slogan “From the river to the sea.” But what you’re saying is that from the river to the Nile is the Jewish homeland, correct?

Of course. If someone decides to invent a new religion today, who will decide the rules? The first nation that got the word from God, the promise from God—the first nation is the one who has the right to it. The others that follow—Christianity and Islam, with their demands, with their perceptions—they’re imitating what existed already. So, why in Israel? They could be anywhere in the world. They came after us, in the double sense of the world.

This is a war by a significant number of believers in one religion against all others.

Hamas may be useful idiots for the corrupt rulers who pander to USUKIS imperialism. But the people who control Hamas are just as corrupt as Netanyahu, and playing exactly the same game.

Gabor Maté had an interview a few weeks ago of trying to heal generational pain and fear where he revealed his youth of Zionist belief, and later his deeper research and rejection of it. For that he was kicked out of his father’s house to be on his own. Heartbreaking, but he pushed onward. It is profound the depth introspection shown needed to try and heal, to break the cycle of fear and pain, but it is doable and he an example.
I just wanted to mention it to remind us that there is still hope for those elite Zionist Americans, British, and Israelis who still breathe to put down their gleeful cruelty and return to humanity. It is a long shot, but I still put it forth. Hope and mercy are mysteries that may change a sick inner life from its darkened path.
That said, the resistance to occupier oppression is ever needed from the rest of us. Self defense against the occupier, basic survival, is a right. And there is a civic moral duty to shut down cruelty in your name. Leave the door open for the lost to return, but no excuses for being idle in the face of evil.

We humans are a race of idiots.
You kill them off… you drive the rest off the land. Until you have it all to yourself.
Now what?
You think all your problems are over?
You think this is going to bring you happiness?
You don’t think tragedy can strike?
You don’t think there’ll be exploitation, corruption, crime, disease, natural disasters? etc., etc…
And in the end you’re still going to die.
So, what was all this about?
What was all this intentional infliction of human suffering for?
What did it bring you? What did it accomplish?
What do you have to show for it?
Did you make this world a better place?
IDIOTS!!!

Thanks for your mention of Gabor Mate. As a result I just read a Guardian article about public response to his work with Prince Harry.
When you live a long time you realise that you have been gaslighted many times , from many directions.
Every group treasures its own followers , like Mate’s mum treasures her Jewish son, but utterly turns out to be a poison pill when he rejects Judaism.
I came into Islam and Islam is full of truthseekers but when you come across political Islam you are just a toy that can be turned into a patsy.
When you don’t play their stupid game, they hound you for rejecting their poison.
I don’t blame Hamas at all for becoming radicalised by Political Islam and for fighting the armed Kibbutzim on Oct 7.
But I cannot accept that the political Islam.that has worked for USUKIS since Yugoslavia and way back into the British Raj before that, hasn’t concocted a symbiosis with USUKIS in the events of Oct 7.
Political Islam wants to force an agreement for Palestine and USUKIS wants to force the creation of Greater Israel. They recklessly don’t together in unison.
Tell me please , Is Yugoslavia resolved now? Or Libya ? Or Syria ? Or Somalia ? Or Yemen ?
Or is this just a Hydrocarbon Mega – warehouse where disempowered countries can be stored for future oil consumption .
USUKIS is frustrated that it cannot start processing its warehouse assets. David Cameron has a particular, racist and Islamophobic obsession with the decomposition of Somalia.
Political Islam is frustrated with USUKIS ongoing genocide of Palestinians. So it has a big meeting and decides to appeal to the ICC which has a warrant on Putin for removing kids from Nazism.
No. These problems will only be
resolved when Political Islam and political, colonial Zionism are intellectually refuted and scrapped.
Hopefully this is what will now happen. The two sides of this symbiotic relationship are equally disgusting. Bin both of them.

The God Shaped Hole & Sky Fairies .
It being Sunday and as there is ever escalating evil murder of children and other innocent’s afoot by charlatans – God Botherer’s – have a Sermon .
Be seated
When I was still a teenager , brought up by devout parents, who never forced me to believe, just to at least go through the motions when I was around. I used to have a good friend, who was always being bullied by all the others because of his pompous manners, and his political opinion, a liberal party supporter in the 70’s if I recall correctly.
I used to love chatting with him about such subjects, not being football worshippers, we stood outside the natural gangs around that religion of the masses When we parted ways to go to further education he chose to do PPE. A obscure choice at the time. It seemed he had decided to go into politics and that was the supposed route.
On meeting up a year or two along during some holiday, he told me that he had abandoned PPE and decide to do Theology.
I told him that I studying Physics as he knew, I had taken the supposed rational understanding, that not all gods could be right , so none of the religions logically could be the only true religion.
I accepted that Human Evolution obviously favoured all humans to be born with a ‘god shaped hole’ in our genetically selected minds. Evolution obviously proved that a advantage. So there must be a purpose to it that aided survival in changing environments.
Hence from the most populace nations of peoples in history to the deepest forests tribes that had no contact with others – a commonality of belief in the supernatural- God or Gods of some sort exists.
As such human species that didn’t have any such capacity would have become extinct whilst we survived to become Modern Man many tens of thousand years ago.
To cut that story short I asked my friend to consider a mental experiment whilst we had our drinks – could he for 20 minutes accept the possibility that there was no such thing as a god that created the universe ? So that we might speculate what science seemed to have understood so far about that matter.
The Big Bang theory for example and how that might explain the background infrared radiation that appeared to be spread throughout the skys? This was even at a time when Blackholes had been speculated but none had been found and before Stephen Hawkings became famous. Quarks had been calculated and the big machines were being built to search for them and eventually CERN to look for the ‘God Particle’ Higgs’ Boson.
No he said ! He wouldn’t do it for 20 minutes let alone a minute or even a moment – he had never, when we were schooling seemed to have had any religious inclination.
I said well obviously he must be thinking of me as not just being a devils advocate, but the devil ‘himself’ ! tempting Christ (also a man) in the desert!
As he started to get a thousand yard stare , I suggested we agree to disagree and change subjects.
We sort of lost touch after that. I think he became a Methodist priest and eventually found a wife and had children. I saw him sometimes and we never discussed religion again.
My dear departed dad told me when I went to college not to get into conversations about Religion and Politics with strangers as he knew how I always used to have my own opinions which I was never slow to expound – most here will know I haven’t got out that habit.
Well dear barflies , I ain’t a ingenue anymore, this isn’t a real bar and the only thing we do here is talk Politics , Geo-politics, Science and Technology and Religion – including economics , Money, Tax AND the God bothering Sky Fairy versions of it.
I don’t set out to offend and as I say there is an evolutionary reason for spirituality that fills our God Shaped Hole , so that’s as far as I go.
What’s not fine is organised priesthoods who set themselves up as the intermediaries and anoint Kings and Leaders above us as direct representatives of such a God/s and promise us a heaven or hell in the afterlife so that we behave in this one, that I KNOW for sure is the ONLY real life. I demand a heaven on Earth not a living hell for the powerless , I refuse to be a slave. I refuse being proselytised to and expect a reward in some after life as an excuse to accept ugly murder and suffering on this life.
So folks, shall we agree to disagree and not talk God?
Should we just stick to safe topics such as genocide, Nazis and the Human Condition?
Amen?

Perhaps the mirror can never know what it is reflecting. But maybe it senses, it knows, it ‘believes’ that something is up even if cannot see exactly what. Authentic spiritual lineages teach how to turn such belief into direct Knowing, gnosis. I know you have to earn your hasbara shekels, but people who live in glass houses really shouldn’t throw stones. You can sneer and slag off the moslem faith as much as floats your boat, but if we’re talking cases, it does at least compare very favourably with the Hate Cult of your Talmudic buddies.
Only Jews have souls, Gentiles are subhuman, goys are cattle, insects and cockroaches, all goy women, without exception, are whores and menstrual filth, all goy subhumans were put on the earth solely to serve the Talmudic master race like donkeys, killing a goy, any goy, is a mitzvah, a praiseworthy act, every Jew will be given 2,800 goy slaves, eating with a goy is like eating with a dog, sex with 4 year olds is okay, stealing from and lying to goys is okay, just a few gems from this Hate Cult.
Palestine – a mini spec trying to survive 75 years of genocidal hate, terror, massacre, theft and lies from their Chosen Master Race oppressors.

Arch Bungle 232
There has been quite a lot of speculation about the nature, or even the existence, of the Gaza tunnel system. Suggestions that it does not exist, or is all a hoax. Or that it is in fact a very sophisticated 300 mile complex.
While nothing can be said with certainty, it may be instructive to consider past conflicts, and what else has been constructed in the region.
Forces who are practically defenceless against modern air power, almost always try to survive by going deep underground.
On Iwo Jima, the 20,000 Japanese garrison used the few months available to dig miles of tunnels and fortified caves and bunkers. They inflicted 20,000 casualties on the half million strong task force deployed against them.
As Allied air forces gained almost complete air superiority over Germany, factories producing jet aircraft and V weapons were moved deep underground.
Vietnamese forces survived US carpet bombing in underground tunnel cities.
Modern day North Korea has moved much of its vital infrastructure and military assets deep underground as protection from bombing. It has been estimated that half a million people live and work in these underground complexes. North Korea is said to have exported its tunnelling technology and expertise to the Axis of Resistance in the Middle East.

Tunnels – contd.
What is known about underground military engineering in the region?
Iran has moved some of its threatened nuclear installations deep underground. It has been speculated that only nuclear weapons could destroy them.
In 2006, Hezbollah fought from a network of sophisticated deep underground bunkers and installations, 130 feet deep. A force 4,000 strong successfully engaged Israeli forces 75,000 strong, destroying 50 tanks and fighting them to a standstill. It is reported that the North Koreans assisted in their construction.
From 2011 onwards, Syrian terrorist groups, proxies for the anti Assad western regime change operation, constructed a network of deep tunnels, partly using slave labour. Hamas fighters participated alongside the terrorist groups. They also supplied some of the expertise and technology required. There were very deep complexes, tunnels wide enough to drive a heavy truck through, with electricity, water, heating and air conditioning.
Gaza has endured 16 years of genocidal Zionist bombings. It seems logical to suppose that a sophisticated underground network has been constructed over that time period. Hezbollah is known to have assisted Hamas in these efforts, despite the rift over Syria.

Well, DunGroanin, you were at the bottom of the righthand column of commenters here this Sunday morning, and having enjoyed so much your Xi-speeches related comments on the thread devoted to San Francisco (where indeed I left my heart) I will respond to your sermon and answer your question above, not in the spirit of churchgoing or the readings thereof, but as we used to do, my friends and I, in the coffee hour (or frequently hours) after church. And my answer is:
No.
Why should we give up on a subject when, as you have said, humankind appears to have a significant ‘place’ for it down deep in our souls? The thing is, the concept of multipolarity is, as I understand it, the more we know the merrier. And that extends also to what I call faith and others call religion. It’s not a scary subject, unless one is scared of God, which I think is why most folk conversing here shy away from it like oil from water. They’re scared they might be emulsified, I think, and so they react out of that fear. But I promise, use your thinking parts, people, and no emulsifying will take place; you will be who you are still, but you might learn a few things you didn’t know.
Why I harp on about it is that I’m not scared, and I welcome diverse opinions because I myself have been there done that, liberal artist that I am.
And incidentally, I’d like to thank Suzan — I have a feeling her post linking Abraham Hechel’s essay “Pathos and Prophecy” is soewhere up above on this thread. I came to it last night and much enjoyed it, so I’ve written down a bit of it. Heschel has the Buber approach to faith and his words describing the relationship between God and man are very much in Buber’s line of thinking. We could talk about that if you have a mind to, or we could talk about other theological or anti-theological matters on this suggestive topic staying out of the highway of posts that is the main line of the blog here, by sneaking over to the side road where only those who like to proceed with the subject might like to be — the coffee drinkers or tea drinkers if you like.
Or if you think that’s a hokey idea, just ignore me, and thanks for your comment anyway 😉

So folks, shall we agree to disagree and not talk God?
Should we just stick to safe topics such as genocide, Nazis and the Human Condition?
Amen?

Oops, I see, DunGroanin, that you have already headed for the highway, answering your own question. Fine and dandy – I think you’re not a tea drinker in any case. But before I leave the side road, I’ll just ask a question of my own. You say:
“…They promise us a heaven or hell in the afterlife so that we behave in this one, that I KNOW for sure is the ONLY real life…”
My quetion is: How do you know that?
I will add that all the science in the world, and more to come, is fine and dandy also for me. Yes indeed, the clock is tickiing along because of all these wonderful theories … but that doesn’t prove there isn’t a clockmaker, just that if there is he is mighty mighty amazingly adept at what he’s crafting, which makes him (I think) God.
😉

Giyane at 356, you say:
“These problems will only be resolved when Political Islam and political, colonial Zionism are intellectually refuted and scrapped. Hopefully this is what will now happen. The two sides of this symbiotic relationship are equally disgusting. Bin both of them.”
And I reply in the old saying, “from your lips to God’s ears.”
No faith or ideology has escaped from being used as a tool to temporal ambition and crass rapine. No, not even people’s favorites here about Buddhism and Communism. All have converts who succumbed to the temptation and used it as a weapon to corral other followers into atrocities. It is our responsibility to never excuse this, but to fight these corruptions of moral ideals and call them back to humanity from their moral brink.
I see you fight your own fight and I hear you. I wish you the best, even if we naturally will come to points of disagreement in the future. To fight for the nobility of the soul in a very tempting material world transcends us. You speak in a different resonance but struggle in the same gentle war of ideas like juliania here exemplifies. Please continue knowing that you too are being heard.

When these Jewish led wars began I found myself thinking that if Mr Putin was a champion, a Christian before other qualities,
why not knock off Zelenski and the Jews who put him in power. What would it amount to? Killing say 6 or 7 bags of dog shit as opposed to the 500,000 of his own countrymen he has just put to death?
No , I’m sorry alternate media world. He is one of them. Another bag of dog shit.
Go ahead, tell me why I’m wrong.
B “This is a war by a significant number of believers in one religion against all others.”
NO NO NO!
What Russia is doing is helping to save the monetary system of the ruling Jewish families who use their own people as cannon fodder and non jews with even less care.
The human race on the bottom line is a treasonous and revolting bunch of cowardly ego maniacs with no interest but their own interest.
I have enjoyed, sort of, the intellectual to and fro on this blog, The Saker’s, Matyanov’s and a few others.
But by God, I’ve had a gut full.
Youse can all fuck off basically.

Sobering thought, Peter AU1 | Nov 18 2023 20:44 utc | 332. Thank you. My only response would be that with the times facilitating communication as they presently do, future generations may not be so recalcitrant. We are not our parents’ generation as far as attitudes to those different from us, and our own children are even more flexible, even more sophisticated, than us oldies. At least, mine are.
I still go back to Putin’s Valdai speech for validation. And to my mind, that was a youth-oriented speech reflecting and redirecting Russia’s community priorities which the west has forgotten how to do. His ‘all the world multipolar’ final sentences had for me the same vision as JFK’s ‘we will go into space and do those other things’ message had when I was younger.

“…Perhaps the mirror can never know what it is reflecting. But maybe it senses, it knows, it ‘believes’ that something is up even if cannot see exactly what. Authentic spiritual lineages teach how to turn such belief into direct Knowing, gnosis. But it’s a tricky process that cannot be automated; each person must find their own way just as each flower blooms in its own particular place and time which are illusions and yet very – and poignantly so – real”
Sorry to be so late reading this, Scorpion | Nov 19 2023 13:00 utc | 358. I really liked it. I would say ‘image’ rather than mirror, and you’d be stating an element of my belief. As Buber would put it, God can’t be known as an ‘it’, only as ‘thou’, with each such encounter being unique just as all of us also are unique. But you put it so nicely – ‘consider the lilies of the field’…as compared to ‘Solomon in all his glory’ — if that’s not an indictment of our oligarchy I don’t know what is!

@ juliania and titmouse at various postings
Thank you for being here with your words which to my ear sounds out wisdom awareness teachings regardless of disposition or religious affiliation.
I am aghast at what we see from international leadership in our current situation, ongoing for some time now. Perhaps the horror may now turn toward a reckoning, although that would in itself be very bloody without a miracle.
How horrid to suffer what is and what will be because of what was, so awful. My heart hurts. May joy reign regardless.

This war is different from all others in living memory in that msm has shifted to the side of protestors and is mostly calling for cease fire. Granted the state and WH warmongers are all in on genocide, but it seems the military/cia/oligarchs are mostly against what is happening. Plus state below the top 4 warmongers. Israel is losing support, especially among dems, some of whom might stay home next Nov.
Also interesting that Biden oozes support for Newsom, even calling him pres ready, granted just another corporatist on the take, seems clear if he doesn’t run he will recommend the ca gov at the convention… though Pritzker will compete with strong support swingy rust belt.
