24ouncer teetering on his barstool here. The Rooskies should absolutely negotiate, but not with the vile nato nazi globohomoshlomos. Instead, call a conference of all countries bordering the Ukiestan nazi enclave (Moldava, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Belarus) to discuss how the Ukie nazi corpse is to be divided up following the inevitable Rooskie victory. Lots of these folks are already pissed about their ethnics being used as cannon fodder and whores, and would be only too happy to submarine the nato nazi operation in order to reclaim their ethnic lands stolen by the USSR. Orban looks to be particularly eager to jam it up the loathsome EU’s posterior. To paraphrase Cato, Ukrainia delenda est.

Excellent, thank you for cutting to the heart of the matter.
The mythology of the land of the Golden Arches where corruption and bribery are not a way of life is going to die very hard. Hope is like that.
Perhaps, though, a few of the more perceptive Ukrainians are noticing things like the US House shut down and mired in its own internal problems. And if they really think they’re getting a perpetual handout they’re not the sharpest axe in the shed. Once the empire of lies is through with the Ukraine project, they’ll empathize a lot more with the Palestinian people.

Hahaha….202, 203, did you ask Biden, or did you ask Trump, about the rest Magical Land? Obviously you missed the memo about Chinese kids are not selecting North American universities any more. And you also missed the report that Russian oligarchs are not that trendy in Russia anymore.
I hope you are not paid trolls, but who knows?

The Russian army is doing everything all right with the minimum of casualties on its side. Why to hurry? More the time goes, more the Russian servicemen will be trained (more than 300’000 volunteers since the 1st January…) and more weapons will be produced. The SMO for the Russians is not a war, but for the Ukrainians it is a war, with killing fields. To the last Ukrainian. Those who are not stupid are already in a foreign country (best to be in Russia) or will surrender as soon as possible.
In the meantime the economies of the European countries are going down and down and down. More the SMO lasts, more those economies will hit the bottom. Also politically, with the installation of dictatorships like in France and in Germany.
No hurry.

I know. Bad timing. So sad. Election challenge dashed! Over all, the pair of them are exemplary, tragic figures in the epic tale of Ukraine’s frantic search for keys to European Civilization. EUCO keeps a list, yanno, of conditions for membership. It’s kind of fluid, pirate-like, in practice. But still. Team Zelensk*’s second mistake of 200,600 was slinging deadlines at the Councils. The first was falling for the NATO confidence game. Silly rabbits.
Tell you what: I’ve a habit, most of the time, of bookmarking the first article, not the homepage, of blogs and bird cage liners when I encounter them. The “when” is a snapshot. Look here: Ukraine War Day #25 – A Therapy Session With Tootsie. Yelensis had this knucklehead’s profile to a T.

any serious info on Avdeevka?
German prop. outlet Süddeutsche Zeitung and their reporter Leopold Zaak claims “thousands” of Russians dead and “dozens of tanks and vehicles” destroyed.
Thousands of Russians dead.
Hm. Really. that was fast.

People in Russia, in Ukraine, and throughout the world want to believe that the West is The Magical Land Where Institutions Basically Work. This, by the way, is why Ukraine fights – they are hoping for admission to that blessed land, and if hating their brothers and their own parents besides is the price of admission, then they will pay it.
Posted by: Feral Finster | Oct 16 2023 16:19 utc | 202

Those institutions work, just not in the way people outside the West think that they do. In the US, nearly every institution has been corporatized. That is to say, higher education, government, medical and even charitable institutions function much like for profit corporations function. For the average person, that means every institution puts one through a gearbox that slowly turns and spits them out after extracting some of their money and providing almost nothing of value, mostly a lot of psychological manipulation and feel good jingoism. Even for people in the West/US who live with these institutions, it’s the PERCEPTION of getting something of value which is valued, not the reality of getting mostly shit. So we can say that people in the West and the non West are getting the same snow job, and for some reason, billions of people buy into (or acquiesce) to this nonsense, where a pile of dogshit is really not what you see and smell.
In the US, a country which has the world’s largest prison population (and largest per capita among industrialized countries), even the incarceration industry, large as it is, is mostly captured by for-profit corporations which do a spectacular job of running it badly. It works in the sense that it generates large profits, but not so much for outcomes for the people it cages. At any rate, the US, which essentially embodies the Western identity, has extreme inequality, poverty, illiteracy and repression underneath the gloss. The best one can say is that the misery is fairly orderly, as in any proper police state.
The rest of the world has, I think, a cartoonish perception of the West. Ukraine has not just fully embraced the US system, but taken it several steps further. It should serve as a warning of where the US will be in a few more years if the trajectory continues.

Their grandfathers claimed the same thing during Operation Bagration, how’d that work out in the end? Dozens of vehicles but thousands of infantry, really, when did the Russian Army suddenly adopt the Soviet WW2 TOE? Attempt to suddenly surround Avdeevka, really, why, so the forces holding the perimeter can be attacked? Lots of projection and coping strategies being deployed, end result 15k troops in an operational pocket, they either retreat under fire or die where they stand. Worse, other sectors are being robbed to support this defensive bulwark, meaning whole stretches of the front are now resembling the German lines on the Eastern Front, stretched frontages and depleted reserves.

Some compilation of various reports of Avdeevka.

Veteran’s Notes:
It won’t be easy in Avdeevka. This is obvious to everyone. No one is making any illusory statements. I will repeat once again – Avdeevka is an extremely important node of the enemy’s defense in the Donbass. It needs to be hacked. Bloody battles cannot be avoided.

⚡️ Avdeevka direction 16.10 18:00
Our Air Forces continue to hit enemy rear positions using various types of ammunition.
In particular, UFABs and air-to-ground missiles are used.
The enemy today is trying to actively snap back and throw troops at our various positions.
AGS-17 copes well with such heroes.
Front bird.

Report of a Russian soldier from the Battle of Avdeevka:
@GeromanAT
“Now I’m reading the news and I don’t understand where the ideas that the offensive turned out to be a ‘failure’ come from.
The forces of the 114th Brigade took control of the landfill in the KHZ area, which is a great advantage for reconnaissance and other activities.
Nobody will put artillery on it, as experts think, because it is a lost cause that will entail great losses.
How could we lose so many tanks?
Almost all structures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of Donetsk are underground + this is a plain perfectly covered by our tanks from a distance; the fortifications are attacked only by infantry supported by artillery, so ours can get much closer to the position.
That is why difficulties arise, because it is not at all profitable for us to break all these fortifications, and it sounds like science fiction.
The success of the offensive is shown from the perspective of the people. Krasnohorivka towards Berdychi, where there are no fortified structures 12 meters underground, where every centimeter is filled with concrete and on top of it there is a small earthen hill, like in the direction of Donetsk.
Every 100 meters traveled in the Experienced/Vodyany direction is a great victory.
And most importantly: the pile of garbage.
Now our guys need to gain a foothold in positions, and the reconnaissance team must identify the remaining ammunition depots and track the delivery of new units of equipment/ammunition/supplies and destroy them.
Monitor every rotation and departure of the enemy from their positions and prevent any withdrawal of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The goals are clear, the goals are appropriate, it is just a matter of time.
And you should forget about the cauldron for the foreseeable future if you don’t want to see a damn meat grinder from our guys.”

Military expert Boris Rozhin’s update (https://t.me/voenkorKotenok/51347) on the main developments during the Russian Federation’s special military operation in the former territory of Ukraine as of 22:14 Moscow time on October 16, 2023
Zaporozhye Direction:
Pyatikhatki area remains unchanged.
An enemy attack was thwarted in Verbovoye today, with the enemy suffering losses.
Most of Rabotino is focused in the gray zone.
Enemy attacks towards Kopani did not yield success, and there was no progress in straightening the front at Rabotino.
Vremyevsky Ledge:
The front has stabilized, and the enemy’s offensive has been halted.
Russian Armed Forces are working on improving positions at Priyutnoye and Novomayorskoye.
There are efforts to engage the enemy’s front edge at Urozhaynoye.
The enemy is regrouping and replenishing depleted units.
Avdeevka:
Fighting to the north and south of Avdeevka is in a positional phase.
Avdeevka itself is under continued pressure, though less intense than the previous week.
Russian Armed Forces have secured positions to the north and south of Avdeevka, but an encirclement of the Avdeevka group is not yet complete.
Both sides have sustained significant losses in recent battles.
Artemovsk:
To the north of Artemovsk, fighting persists in the Orekhovo-Vasilyevka area with no notable changes.
To the south of the city, battles continue along the Kleshcheyevka—Andreevka—Kurdyumovka line.
The enemy, having failed to break through the railway, is focusing on attacks in the Kleshcheyevka and Kurdyumovka area.
The situation here remains challenging, and the enemy is deploying reserves to sustain their offensive.
Svatovo—Kupyansk:
Russian Armed Forces continue their offensive operations, achieving tactical successes west of Svatovo and northeast of Kupyansk.
In recent days, the enemy has lost over 20 supporters and sustained significant losses. The AFU command acknowledges the existing crisis and is sending reinforcements to this area.

I think we are seeing the last stages before it becomes obvious to all that the situation has run into a stalemate WW1 style. Thousands of lives lost for gains measured in units of meters and sometimes km.
It will slowly start to become a thing for diplomats as both sides are exhausting themselves rapidly. Russia is increasingly paying an economic price – something that we have not seen so far and kept them going for almost 2 years against the far more potent NATO. While the Ukrainian side cant be indefinitely supported 100% as the world rolls on and history continues to be made elsewhere. If NATO wants to finish the job, they need to do it with more direct involvement and that is a bridge too far.
You can also see the propaganda from both sides simply mirroring the same narratives with roles exchanged. They cant figure anything new anymore as all angles have been beaten to death.

I think what we are really seeing is Ukraine has mobilized at least 2 million people and there are claimed to be more 70 year old POWs, and they are simply swamping Russia with floods of unsupported attacks. In this circumstance, Russia can’t attack into the AFU waves, nor does it make much sense. Russia is coping pretty well with those attacks in most areas, but they ran into a small setback around Avdeevka. Russians are also making their own attacks, especially around Urozhaine and Priyune, Verbove and Rabotino and Kopani. There are also supposedly 43k women serving in AFU now.
Of course, it’s possible, had they made some other sort of advances elsewhere, the entire Avdeevka conglomeration might have simply been cut off somewhere else or bypassed.
It seems that the original plan of Nato was to get RUAF to attack Avdeevka head-on in the very first months. That would have probably happened, if Ukraine managed to go ahead with their invasion of Donbass in February 2022, the follow-up plan was to withdraw back to Avdeevka and create an unsustainable slugfest, with the bulk of legacy-AFU still intact.
But instead, we are seeing the Avdeevka attack at the late stages, where the bulk of AFU was destroyed and replaced several times with fresh conscripts off the street, and the Nato trained army of winter 2022/2023 mostly crushed in the Rabotyne salient. Of course, Nato keeps training more troops but it’s less likely it will be able to mount any sort of coherent offensives, perhaps even ever again.
Anyway, maybe we’ll see RU simply switch back to grinding, they are having some advance in the south sector though.

I think we are seeing the last stages before it becomes obvious to all that the situation has run into a stalemate WW1 style. Thousands of lives lost for gains measured in units of meters and sometimes km.

There is a huge difference because 2023 only one side is on the brink of exhaustion. It’s true that we don’t know yet what happens if AFU goes all defense: they’re usually under outside pressure to attack and were they tried to defend (Mariupol) they failed.
I agree the frontline pictures look like WW1 but the geopolitics are very different. As the USA are about to drop the Ukraine project formally, handing the hot potato to EUrope, it will just get worse for AFU. Here’s as random example former deputy war secretary Elbridge Colby: Ukraine was not and is not an ally, and we had never committed to defend it.

Also re. WW1 references. It’s possible that everything seemingly now looks the same as WW1, but rather more because new technological advances in drones, autonomous drones, remote-mining, cluster munitions, night vision, weapons optics, and long range weapons have made traditional WW2 style accumulations, large arrow offensives etc. unprofitable. So technology has to a significant extent acted to make combat back into somewhat stationary style (it isn’t really stationary, and the fronts are far from as saturated as in WW1, you can have a company hold what a brigade or division could do in WW1 and they do move).
In the first 8-10 months RUAF had the mobile defense tactics, it was seen in Kherson where there was a “fire brigade” that moved actively from one place to another to put out the fires of continuous attacks here and there. Obviously, it wasn’t a very sustainable way to deal with those continuous and renewed attacks and only some extent of trenches and saturation could release the stress of mobile defense against overwhelming odds.
Albeit, you still need a certain amount of front saturation just to reduce the possibility of enemy regular advance, but not like too much concentration.
Returning to Avdeevka, it’s pretty clear AFU doesn’t need a lot of AFVs or tanks, because they have those concrete structures partially beneath the ground which are hard to hit with ATGMs or aerial bombs, or require some sort of bigger bombs or penetrating bombs. And you have to recon all those structures, ammo depots and positions.
I think the key of Avdeevka is there, what they are trying currently, in the north, west and north-west of Krasnogorovka. All new AFU forces must come from that direction, because they are unable to concentrate around Pervomaisk due to large water obstacles and lakes forming barriers. The key battle isn’t probably Avdeevka, it’s the staging area north-west and west of Krasnogorovka, there aren’t that bad concrete structures either, like in Avdeevka.

There’s nothing ‘new’ in warfare, the only thing that changes is the technological implementation of the age old principles. One of the first is the victory calculus, simply put, Russia can pay the blood and treasure price Ukraine inflicts, Ukraine cannot reciprocate, therefore Ukraine loses and ‘freezing the conflict’ just becomes another neocon ‘what-if’ scenario to discuss at parties, when they’re not obsessing over Trump.
Some posters really need to stop imagining the Russian Army perform like extras from a Mosfilm war epic and study the operational history of that fighting force. Any offensive will be launched at a weak point in the line, using overwhelming force, after a massive bombardment, not against a fortified BUA recently reinforced, or by regimental sized units. Avdiivka’s role is to force the Ukrainians to weaken their other fronts to sustain this position, and to force NATO to commit their ISR support, in essence self-fixing these forces. I’d be watching the Southern or Northern fronts, as possible attack axes, especially the South as the depleted units still seem to not have transitioned to a full defensive stance.

All the Russians have to do is close the gap WNW of Andeyevka, capturing Orlovka and the villages around it.
Andeyevka is then kesseled and General Winter is coming.

“In the meantime the economies of the European countries are going down and down and down. More the SMO lasts, more those economies will hit the bottom. Also politically, with the installation of dictatorships like in France and in Germany.”

Exactly, certainly for Germany the forced decline is continuing and possibly accelerating. The war rhetoric is so shrill that physical involvement in the war seems to come closer. At the moment Germany and Poland seem not very aligned for a joint military misadventure, though looks can be deceiving and both are ruled by puppets that will do as told.
The suppression of political dissent is increasingly heavy-handed, as a courageous minority maintains resistance against the Empire’s local puppet regime.
The economic decline is worse than many suspect. DIHK – Germany’s largest industry and trade association – recently polled its members of which 37% stated plans to move (some) operations out of the country, of which again about half said such efforts were already underway. A bloodletting the current way of life will not survive.
Meanwhile unsustainable numbers of migrants are pumped day and night into the country and into financial and other support that far exceeds basic needs. The institutions such as courts and police work, public administration (excessive and unworkable demands on businesses and private citizens), schools and education are being rapidly degraded.
Daily, unacceptable incidents are engineered: climate activists knowingly block an ambulance with a dying patient inside – with the police ostentatiously defending activists against citizens trying to clear the road, absurd show trials against anti-woke words while harrowing crimes of migrants are excused and the German victims told to show better “cultural understanding”.
It doesn’t take much fantasy to see the nation come to a point where amidst overall chaos, cacophony, and increasing hardship the populace will yearn for a strong leader that talks sense in the language of the normal people, and makes and end to all this mess. Perhaps so by vowing to save Germany’s economy via re-allying itself with Russia, thus offering itself as valid target for a big NATO campaign?

People in Russia, in Ukraine, and throughout the world want to believe that the West is The Magical Land Where Institutions Basically Work. This, by the way, is why Ukraine fights – they are hoping for admission to that blessed land, and if hating their brothers and their own parents besides is the price of admission, then they will pay it.

Those institutions work, just not in the way people outside the West think that they do.
In the US, a country which has the world’s largest prison population (and largest per capita among industrialized countries), even the incarceration industry, large as it is, is mostly captured by for-profit corporations which do a spectacular job of running it badly.
The rest of the world has, I think, a cartoonish perception of the West. .

So far, so good, with Russia beating the shit outta anything that comes at it. But how much new material can be moved into rear positions without sorta forcing “the front” to move forward? Thus Avdeevka and the creep forward in many places along the front? Gotta do something with all the stuff at your disposal, especially when the enemy is so relatively so scattered and out of oomph.
Something else that I’ve pondered is Russia’s plan for country 404. Would it be reasonable to suppose Putin has no intention of Monsatan, Cargill et al getting any claim whatsoever to agricultural lands. De facto buy the whole of the country for the 300 billion commandeered by the West, ya?

Russia is really not in a position to militarily dictate how this is going to end. It can cut its losses and go home now or it can cut its losses and go home later. Either way, the result will be the same. Just that the amount of dead people between these points really depends on how long it will try to persist with its futile resistance.

Nevertheless there is an effort to keep the pressure when AFU would like to pause and train new troops.

Our source reports that the army is recording signs of a manpower shortage, which will worsen in 2024.
Zelensky’s plan to review all issued certificates/exemptions from mobilization will not be able to quickly increase the flow of manpower into the army.
Therefore, they take the most moronic steps. They are canceling deferments for people with disabilities, shortening the lists of those with reservations and preparing for a massive conscription of female doctors, etc. They will tighten the catch. They will even try to emotionally provoke the masses to go to war. It is best to use some kind of large-scale tragedy for this.
Many have the impression that Zelensky is ready, for the sake of his rating and “place in history,” to drown the entire country in blood, turning cities into cemeteries.

One of the most serious blows of all time in the Northern Military District.
There are losses in both people and technology.
It’s pointless to write about the fact that “we need to draw conclusions so that this doesn’t happen again.” This will happen again as long as the war continues. We must be prepared for this.

Our source reports that there is a staff shortage at Bankova, that they cannot find a minister of culture and information policy.
Mikhail Podolyak wants to take advantage of this; we wrote about this in May, when the Office of the President initiated a media attack on the then Minister of Information Alexander Tkachenko.
We immediately published that Ermak was getting a complete monopoly in the media, but as everyone knows, Ermak/Zarivnaya failed the media in September, there was even a public scandal.

https://t.me/legitimniy/16491

Zelensky held a meeting with journalists and representatives of Ukrainian telegram channels.
The meeting was organized by (Ermak) Misha Podolyak, who wants to sit in the Minister’s chair (Misha has little chance, although Ermak seems to agree to put him there, but is afraid of the wrath of the “Western lobby”, which wants to put one of their own there).
This meeting created discord between media editors and TG channel administrators. Media editors began to throw mud at the authorities in their idiotic idea, to equate TG channels and “honest media.” They’ll be all over the place. They even forgot about the common interests in defending the Motherland.
But as our source said:
“The question is not that some have been leveled with others, but that Misha is aiming for the chair, but many cannot stomach Misha. He’s rotten. And the second question is money. But everyone hides behind good intentions and “protection of national interests.”
But the most interesting thing is that at the meeting they admitted that the so-called “Kremlin network” (we head it and many other good Ukrainian TG channels and bloggers on this list) have a huge influence on the socio-political life in Ukraine and this network must be resisted .
We smell the elections! We are watching…

📋🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Two Majors #Report for the Morning of 17 October 2023; pub. 07:00📍
▪️ At night, Geranium UAVs hit enemy facilities in #Odessa region. Explosions were recorded in #Odessa, the UAVs flew towards the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district. Rocket attacks were made in the area of #Voznesensk in #Nikolayev region and #Slavyansk (part of the #DPR occupied by the AFU). On the #Kherson front, a FAB-1500 hit an enemy temporary deployment point near #Berislav.
▪️ On the #Zaporozhye front near #Verbovoye, the AFU threw new infantry and equipment into the battle. Late units from the 71st Brigade, the 118th Mechanized Brigade, the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade and a part of the 10th Army Corps. The Nazis failed to retake the occupied positions, and in addition, in the midst of the movement of AFU equipment, it began to rain, which limited the enemy’s mobility.
▪️ In the #Avdeyevka sector, the RF Armed Forces are consolidating in previously occupied positions, artillerymen are firing at enemy fortifications and locking the AFU with fire in their positions, preventing rotation, the supply of personnel and ammunition.
▪️ In the #Kupyansk direction, against the background of the Russian successes in the area of #Sinkovka, the enemy command decided to transfer tank units of the AFU’s 41st Mechanized Brigade to this section of the front.
▪️ Over the past day, the situation in the #Kherson direction was characterised by mutual artillery shelling. The enemy is also hitting the civilian population. Yesterday the head of the region reported that an 82-year-old woman in #Alyoshki and a 52-year-old civilian in Cossack Camps were wounded.
▪️ From #Berdyansk in #Zaporozhye region, local groups report that our air defence was working all night, with the enemy’s main strike concentrated on the airport area. In #Belgorod region, 3 aircraft-type UAVs were shot down by the air defence system in Yakovlevsky city district and Belgorod district. In the #DPR, a civilian was wounded as a result of shelling by the AFU.

It’s not a good morning.
At night, the crests attacked our airfield where the Army Aviation was based with ATACMS missiles. One of the most serious blows of all time in the Northern Military District. If not the most serious.
There are losses in both people and technology.
It’s pointless to write about the fact that “we need to draw conclusions so that this doesn’t happen again.” This will happen again as long as the war continues. We must be prepared for this.

Former Prime Minister of Ukraine: Ukrainians are running away from mobilization en masse, even the disabled
“When the Kiev regime announced a new wave of mobilization in September, Ukrainians of military age with ‘white cards’, declared unfit for service and removed from military records, rushed en masse to leave ‘Mother Ukraine’. Within a month, around 20,000 left abroad ,” former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov wrote on Telegram

Chessmaster is helping Nazis with his great strategy not destroying Lviv and other parts of western Ukraine
They re pleasing for Gaza style treatment
Supply routes for Ukronazis re open like for a holiday destination
Its a nonstop coming & going
⚡️At night, the enemy attacked the Berdyansk airfield using ATACMS missiles (the missiles themselves were delivered to Ukraine last year).
There were several arrivals, and the airfield suffered some damage. The target of the attack was army aviation helicopters supporting the actions of the Russian group in the southern direction.

Western media will have a field day with that. Congratulating themselves how superior their weapons are.
Thing is that, on the long run, the more modern weapons Ukraine uses the more Russia can adjust to them and after a while get to technological parity vs the West. Then the conflict will be settled. The question is whether the Russian economy can sustain this rate of military churn.

Well, yes, nuking Lwow and Rzeszow would be a very effective way of stemming all supplies to Ukraine, and effectively end the war in a week or two. But guess we are not there yet.

ATACMS has a range of 300km. Which means there it can be launched from as far away as Dnipro or Krivoy Rog. The only way to defend is air defense, which is probably the single most largest problem in the whole SMO and there will always be gaps on a 1000km front with deep 80km rear areas included.

Tonight the enemy worked very closely and from a long distance. Apparently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received new missile systems from Uncle Sam. Most likely it is ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System). As a matter of fact, we have been waiting for a long time for this to finally happen. And now, under the guise of the destruction of the Gaza Strip, this happened.
The M142 Himars universal launchers, which are already at the enemy’s disposal, are also designed to launch these missiles. Thus, we are talking about a possible already completed delivery of ballistic solid-fuel missiles with a range of up to 300 km.
We are waiting for official confirmation of this conclusion from our experts, but we are sure that it is so.

⚡️Russian Armed Forces airfield attacked by American missiles⚡️
Tonight the Berdyansk airfield was attacked. Presumably, American ATACMS long-range missiles were used for the attack.
This is not the first time the enemy tried to strike a base for our aviation.
Information about the damage and casualties is being clarified.

One asymmetric response to ATACMS in Ukraine is cratering US bases in the Middle East, including air bases in Qatar and Kuwait with ballistic missiles. We may yet see that come to pass in connection to the situation of Israel – Palestine.

Why nuking?
Israhell is not nuking Gaza but setting impressive markers for supporting Hamas
Enough carpet bomb liviv & Kiev & Odessa
Cut water supply, energy & telecommunications
The ukronazis shall feel whats a real war about
Last two years West of Ukraine has been built up to a Nato military hub under the eyes of Russia
Thanks to chessmasters braindead strategy

Russians wanted forever wars in their country, let them enjoy the Gaza lifestyle they desired. At least missiles didn’t fall in the middle of cities or on an npp this time, only some of the unlucky working for actors Shoigu and Gerasimov died.

Try carpet bombing against a target defended as Kiev and watch your bomber fleet going down in flames. TU-22M are not rolling off assembly lines as B-24 in 1944.
As for supply lines…well attacking roads is basically a waste of ordnance and railroad tracks are only just a bit less easily repaired. You can knock out bridges but destroy them beyond repair is harder than many think.
Depots are actually being attacked all the time of course.

As for the rest, well it seems that the defense trumps offense in a WW1sh manner of sort, certainly neither Ukraine or Russia can pull off rapid decisive attacks; maybe the US could but I would not fancy the odds.
So it makes a certain amount of sense to go on with attrition until Ukraine gets its 1918 moment a couple of years down the road. Remember also that what Russia destroys it will have to fix later.

Maybe not do enthusiastic but willing and ideologically committed yes.
Attrition will wear that though eventually. Just not anytime sono.
