Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

The MoA Week In Review – (Not Ukraine) OT 2023-232

Last week's post on Moon of Alabama:

> The recurrence of the conflict shows once again that the protracted standstill of the peace process cannot go on. The fundamental way out of the conflict lies in implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent State of Palestine. <

Other issues:

Nazis:

Chinese chips:

> Industry sources told CSIS that U.S. companies were losing revenue not as a direct result of no longer selling to Huawei, but rather because Huawei was replacing U.S. chips with their own self-designed versions.

The United States has incurred essentially all of the costs of an aggressive export control policy toward China, but it has done so in a way that does not provide all the potential strategic benefits of actually constraining China’s future technological capabilities. <

Spooks:

Use as open (not Ukraine related) thread …

Yeah NO is the hub for US grain export. It goes to show how technically advanced we are! And the Big Ten countries, where the grains are grown and shipped down Mississippi are known for Civil Engineer expertise.

“…The Right are not original and independent thinkers. None of their research was conducted independently. I do not believe they are pushing this ideology independently…” Tom_Q_Collins@34
They would be betraying their own philosophy if they did attempt to think for themselves. The whole ethos of the sad set is to execute the orders of their superiors, the ruling class with whom they enjoy a sado masochistic relationship, relishing the injuries done to them by the father figures who they revere and savagely attacking those who disrespect the bosses anointed by providence.
I suspect that their hatred of ‘cultural marxists’ is a manifestation of their grudge against Adorno who exposed them just when they were warming up, under the leadership of their beloved Senator from Wisconsin, to a thorough purge of intellectuals who dared to think for themselves instead of serving the master.

Below is a link to a Xinhuanet posting that shows how much China is now outpacing the West in quantum computing
China’s computational power gains new strength with 255-detected-photon quantum computer
The quote

According to the state-of-the-art exact classical simulation algorithm, “Jiuzhang 3.0” is a million times faster at solving GBS problems than its predecessor, “Jiuzhang 2.0.” Moreover, the most complex samples of GBS that “Jiuzhang 3.0” can calculate in just one microsecond would take the world’s fastest supercomputer, “Frontier,” more than 20 billion years to complete.

Russia Today has published an article, “Teacher and student brawl over Palestinian flag in Berlin” (Neukoelln). The details of the incident are not very interesting. What is noteworthy is press coverage.
One is left with the distinct impression Western press does not publish facts if the facts go against official policy.
