Palestine Is Striking Back

October 5 2023:

Over 800 Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa compound during Jewish Sukkot holiday

More than 800 Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem on Thursday morning under the protection of Israeli forces.

Rabbis, heads of settlement associations, and far-right university lecturers were among 832 people who forced their way into the religious site compound, a source in the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem told The New Arab's Arabic sister site Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.

Israeli forces imposed severe restrictions on Muslim worshippers entering Al-Aqsa and those under 60 were prevented from accessing the site.

It comes during the Jewish religious holiday of Sukkot, which started on 29 September and ends on Friday. The holiday has seen thousands of Israeli extremists storm the Al-Aqsa compound, with almost 1,500 entering the site on Monday.

Israeli extremists also continued on Thursday to hold provocative marches both inside Jerusalem's Old City and outside its walls, attacking Palestinians and their property.

They also beat and spat at journalists in a market area near Al-Aqsa, where shops were forced to close for the sixth day in a row.

The Old City is home to Al-Aqsa as well as the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

The Al-Aqsa compound is the third holiest site in Islam and the most important Muslim place in Palestine.

October 7 2023:

Escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

This morning, the Islamic Jihad group announced the start of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, igniting another local war against Israel. They formally cited regular oppression and attempts on Al-Aqsa as reasons, where local Arab worshippers have been repressed repeatedly (in addition, there have been raids against the Islamic Jihad in Jenin over the past few weeks).

The operation began quite dramatically: a naval landing was carried out in the north of the Gaza Strip, and there are also reports of airborne landings – someone parachuted into rear cities.

After three hours of fighting, the group successfully captured a military base in the town of Kerem Shalom: there are enough images on social media of killed IDF servicemen and captured equipment (there are also photos of a burnt "Merkava" tank). This is a huge base on the border with Egypt. To put it mildly, the trophy is very valuable.

▪️As of now, fighting is still ongoing in Netiv HaAsara, Berri, and Sderot. Panic has gripped the population of bordering villages, with footage of people fleeing on foot. The Israel Defense Forces began retaliatory strikes only after 10 in the morning. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has stated outright that Hamas has gone to war with them, and at 10:30, the official start of the Iron Swords counter-terrorism operation was announced.

This is likely to escalate. It is impossible to predict when or how this will end.

maybe they take the chance to wipe out every Palestinian from Gaza , who knows.

The memes “we will make parking lot”, “we could make a parking lot” (but we are so good natured that we did not, in another version: but our government has no balls) etc. Mind you, Israel is dominant in the area, and memes cross the fences and walls, with a reversal. And for the humanitarian West, I expect “we unconditionally stand with Israel”, even RFK got contaminated by that.

If – big if – this dies down secular and European Jews will be leaving town in a rush. Leaving behind the crazies. Actually if this even continues another 24 hours I’d expect significant emigration.
I’ve not read every comment. Is anyone paying attention to the possibility Hezbollah and Iran join the fray? Someone above did say northern front. Syrian involvement is also not out of question.
What are these 2500 or 5000 rockets? 5000 homemade katyushas are just an annoyance. 5000 real rockets with any semblance of guidance can do some damage. Hezbollah and Iran of course have large inventories of serious rocketry.

Gaza was dying and running out of water. They tried peaceful protests, boycotts, diplomatic actions, and nothing worked. Israel kept extending the seige while becoming more and more brutal to Palestinians across the West Bank, all while the Gulf Arabs helped normalize Israel. What is more, the experience of the Armenians has again shown that the collective West will shrug its shoulders at ethnic cleansing, as long as it is done to the right people. The Palestinians had no choice, I hope they can win this desperate war.

Not so ridiculous to assume.
The US has spent decades smashing Israels enemies one by one. Syria, Iraq, Lybia, and to a degree Lebanon with their policies. Egypt and Jordan are in a peace coalition with Isreal. The Saudis never really supported any war against Israel and only sent a few tiny units in on a few occasions. Yemen has been in and out of civil war all of my life.
The Saudis are Israels and US poodles armed and financed by US dollars. Morrocco’s intelligence service are Mossad poodles. Algeria has stayed out of the conflicts.
Hezbolla Lebanon actually supresses the Palestininas who have been in a bit of a civil war in Lebanon. I do beleive they help them with military logistics but they are settled into Lebanon and will not risk the destruction of their infrastructure without a huge push from the population they serve.
The only real enemy left is Iran and that is not an Arab country. The Arabs sold out the Palestinains long ago.

the Israelis military losses are impressive, its been confirmed that several military bases (along with all of their tanks and APCs) were captured by Hamas, I’m seeing videos on Telegraph of at least 4 tanks destroyed (unconfirmed reports claim more than 10 tanks were captured undamaged) and at least 14 IFV captured at a single base. the losses from this single video represents hundreds of millions of dollars in military equipment and now it has been confirmed that Israel has been forced to tow away military jets from several air bases like a repoman due to fears that Hamas will capture the air bases before they can mount an effective counter attack means that things on the ground have changed forever. We’re probably looking at tens of billions of dollars in military equipment and infrastructure losses alone, plus hundreds of billions in loses economic activity (people have just been reminded that Israel is not a safe place to invest your money), it also looks like several hundred, perhaps a 1000 Israelis have been killed or wounded in less than a day. It will take at least a decade to replace these losses as Israeli is already facing an economic recession, it has no manufacturing base to leverage for rushed military production and the US empire has already emptied it’s arms depots for Ukraine.
Some people might say Israeli really screwed up 1) not making peace with Syria when it had a chance, 2) supplying weapons to Ukraine 3) pissing off Russia by killing those Russian airmen 4) not reigning in their settlers when they go on their weekly Arab killing safaris 5) always assuming that the people of Gaza will just stay confined in their open air prison and not bust out.

A few more people heard from:
[…] Republican Senator Ted Cruz released a statement accusing “Iran-controlled Hamas terrorists” of launching “a literal war against Israel.”
[…] In a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, Cruz suggested Iranian culpability in the attacks. He wrote: “Iran-controlled Hamas terrorists launched a literal war against Israel tonight. Our Israeli allies will now do what they must to defend themselves and I stand with them as they confront this violence and these atrocities.
“The United States must continue to support Israel’s absolute right to self-defense and ensure it has the military resources and diplomatic support it needs to confront the genocidal Iran-controlled terrorists who seek Israel’s destruction,” Cruz added.
Kari Lake, a prominent, Donald Trump-supporting Republican who is expected to run for an Arizona Senate seat, posted: “Hamas Terrorists have launched war against Israel. They’ve unleashed a hellfire of bombs and are going door to door murdering Israeli civilians.
“America must stand with our friend and ally in the Middle East. I will always support Israel’s rights as a sovereign Nation. She has every right to defend herself against these barbaric monsters. I have full faith and confidence that she will do just that,” Lake added.
[…] A strongly worded statement was released on X by Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, who said: “Horrible news from Israel. My condolences go out to everyone who lost relatives or close ones in the terrorist attack. We have faith that order will be restored and terrorists will be defeated.”
Zelensky added that “Israel’s right to self-defense is unquestionable.”

What’s happening in the West Bank? Why are Jordan and Egypt late in announcing their support for Israel? How did Hamas acquire all those rockets and drones? What’s the status of the border crossing between Gaza and Egypt? Will Hezbollah wait until Israel pulls troops from its northern border to help in the south and then attack? How can Hezbollah ever expect Israel to be weaker than it is now? If Hezbollah holds off from attacking now won’t it be wasting the heroic struggle Hamas is now waging?

But isn’t Hamas itself a Muslim jihadi group? Aren’t they using a religious reason, the storming of the al Asqa Mosque, as the provocation for this action?

No and No.
– They are not a Muslim Jihadi group, they are the democratically elected government of the Palestinian people. Elected during the only democratic election held in Palestine ever (elections held by the Euro colonisers don’t count).
– The storming of the Al Aqsa mosque involved brutalisation of actual human beings. They weren’t merely “religiously affronted” they were physically harmed.

Israel suffers from schizophrenia, which makes rationality difficult.
1. Israel is indispensible for the security of the Jewish people.
2. Israel is under existential threat, tough neighborhood etc.
This is reflected in complacent paranoia, aggressive religious cults and so on.
About the screwups, it is hard to appreciate how wars changed, the difference between Ukraine 2022 and 2023, where both sides use new types of weaponry that totally changed the way of fighting, and cheap and easy to weaponize FVP drones do not have easy countermeasures — we will see a lot of those in 2024, I guess. In the meantime, Iron Dome became but a layer in air defense, useful but not for small flying objects.

“Not a single Western outlet that i read today has had the decency to explicitly inform its readers about the cause and effect of these 2 events, evidenced by their close temporal proximity.”
Well of course not… it’s another “unprovoked attack” by an “aggressive terrorist entity” and has US “iron clad support” for Israel.
Israel can send all the “planes” it wants, in the end, if this goes into full on land war, (and honestly… it does not appear Hamas has that support) then Israel will soon be running to UNSC for “peacekeepers” … although for decades they have screamed against them except at So Israel Hezbollah territory.
Frankly, I see this going no where, unless US decides to aid Israel in strikes against Iran… and that doesn’t seem likely unless bankers want $250 a barrel oil to bury collapse under.

Larry Johnson and a few others are absolutely convince that in the last few years, Russia has helped NK with its nuclear warhead and missile program. With Larry Johnson convinced of this there is likely something in it.
Palestine… Israel for its entire existence has rode the holocaust like a surfer riding a wave. Now when the time counts, Israel acts as if the open Nazism that now manifests itself in Ukraine does not exist.
Hamas and the to this point in time raid. They have excellent intel and training. A very professional operation. Russia has I think the best intelligence service in the world. They have been able to infiltrate every Islamic extremist group they came up against. Two million Russian jews have emigrated to Israel…
The US is Israels sugar daddy and the protector of it apartheid state. Apart from constant funding, US vetos every resolution put against apartheid Israel at the UNSC.

That “800 Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque” story is completely missing in the press worldwide – including the Arab press. Why?
Posted by: Wim | Oct 7 2023 9:53 utc | 8

Probably because that is trivia amidst the news of Hamas launching thousands of rockets and killing over 20 people. Not sure why b thinks protestors behaving badly after being provoked is more significant than that. Israelis have shown tremendous restraint for generations going back to the Hitler-backed raids and killings in the 1930’s against Jewish settlers. Treating violent elements among the Palestinians as poor oppressed innocents is extremely lame and dishonest.

remember operation cast lead ?
what do you think how the IDF will response and who will pay the price?

How did we get from Operation Cast Lead to here?
Do do you think the IDF learned anything?
Who do you think is paying the price regardless?

Things are going pretty much as predicted from Gaza 2014. The Israeli army is useless now, only the airforce is good – young Israelis are no longer willing to have to fight for their state, and would prefer to get on a plane for elsewhere, rather than risk their lives in support of warmongering governmental policies. We saw it first in the 2006 war, when there were queues of Israelis outside foreign embassies to renew their 2nd passports. Then again in 2014, when the land invasion of Gaza completely failed, and they had to cover up by bombing from the air. Now it’s gone further, if the Gazans have been able to take over heavily equipped Israeli bases, and take numbers of prisoners. I don’t suppose they’ll keep them very long, but it’s a profound shock, like in 1973.

It gets a little tiresome to have to explain this to an educated audience after 2000 years of it being common knowledge, except in USUKIS.
Posted by: Giyane | Oct 7 2023 13:25 utc | 90
The educated recall that the same prophetic tradition states that FITNA will first come to Muslims.
The Farisees of Jesus’ time are just like the Islamic hypocrites in Iran. Morality Police was happening in Jerusalem 2000 years ago and Jesus (AS) did tell the morality police of “Jeis” something, do you remember it?
You know I saw a video on twitter of a pickup truck with fighters and the “naked” body of a dead Israeli woman. I know the Zionists have been brutal with Palestinians but I have never seen images of IDF parading naked Palestinian women in the streets in concert with cries of “God is Great”. Now there is no question that God is, in fact, Greater. The question remains whether hypocritics in guise of Muslims who want to “hasten the hour” <<<< !!! are in fact "wrongdoers" or "Muslims". You know your Qur'an. Tell me. Who wants to "hasten the hour?"

Hamas is a highly corrupted organization,

No more or less than any other government the world over – definitely less than the jewish occupation state in Palestine.

its a well known fact that Gaza strip is compared to the West Banks poor

No it’s not. Stop making rubbish up.

and under developed cause of Hamas.

Hmmm. You think the hermetic seal placed by the IDF around the WB and Gaza just remotely, just might a leeetle have a teeensy something to do with it?
Just a bit?
Really anticipating your valuable input on this. Can’t wait actually.

Tell me where all the money has gone Europe spent on Gaza strip or better ask Hamas.

Better as the jew occupation government, since they count all the calories going in – right?

I think this basically sums it up, not much else makes any technical sense: “My problem is that Israeli governments wanted a big open conflict as an excuse for massives lands thefts and a big expulsion (one more) of Palestinians. This Hamas offensive is welcome to them regardless of their losses, which are more symbolic than serious. I suppose Mossad’s apparent “ineffectiveness” could also be due to a laissez-faire decision by the extremists in power in Tel Aviv.”

Here’s China’s version…
Israeli airstrikes on Gaza kill 198, injure 1,610
Xinhua | Updated: 2023-10-07 22:08
GAZA – Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip have killed at least 198 people and injured 1,610, the Health Ministry in Gaza said on Saturday.
“Today, at least 198 people lost their lives, and 1,610 sustained injuries due to Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Israeli airstrikes were carried out in response to earlier rocket attacks by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

I’ll be surprised if China.gov expresses support for either side in this conflict. They know the capital of Amerikkka is Tel Aviv.

The racist apartheid colonial zionist settler entity in Occupied Palestine has for far too long imagined it had total impunity for its endless genocidal crimes. It is now being taught the lesson that fighting someone who can actually  shoot back is harder than murdering five year old Palestinian children. It is a long overdue lesson richly deserved.

❗️🇮🇱🇵🇸 Aggravation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone what is known as of 17.00 October 7, 2023
▪️Currently, group control over the occupied territories remains. The Israeli Air Force carried out several strikes on the Gaza Strip and occupied settlements.
▪️The Ministries of Health of Israel and Palestine reported on the dead and injured. Today, 40 people have died in Israel, and 198 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip.
▪️Frames have appeared from a military camp in Nahal Oz, where Saraya Al-Quds captured seven Akhzarit infantry fighting vehicles, one M113, as well as wheeled vehicles. The shot also included several dead people, apparently from the guard service.
▪️The Israeli Navy announced the destruction of “dozens of Palestinian terrorists.” The fighting in Ashkelon continues: limited sabotage groups penetrated there in the morning and are shooting, among other things, civilians.
▪️Dozens of IDF soldiers were captured, including high-ranking officers. The Palestinian factions have gathered both “human shields” and “trump cards” for a relatively long struggle.
🔻At a meeting of the Israeli Cabinet of Ministers, a decision was made to conduct a ground operation in the Gaza Strip – a predictable step and leading to even greater escalation.
There are open accusations against Iran of starting the war: the conflict, at the instigation of the ultra-Orthodox nationalist government of Israel, risks going beyond borders and engulfing the Middle East.
Palestinian factions claim that they started the “Al-Aqsa Flood” early because the IDF was preparing for the start of war within days in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
❗️Under the current conditions, predicting an imminent de-escalation is a thankless task. If the Israelis had not declared war with Iran, everything could have been reduced to local standards. But already now Netanyahu is openly talking about a “long struggle” (and it’s only the middle of the first day).

This should bring all the aspects of our civilization war to a climax by the end and resolution will be welcomed after 75 years of occupation.

Correct.
Predicted and detailed on these very forums along with much more which we will see play out and come to pass within the next few days …
Personally, I believe the future of this conflict can be foreseen once these three pillars prediction are accepted:

1) The IDF will never be able to complete erase Hamas/I.J/other freedom fighters from the Palestine without a complete genocide, hence:
2) They are doomed to eternal conflict with Palestinian resistance movements who will continually bring the available technology of the day to bear, become more lethal with each passing year and:
3) Eventually they will reach a point of equilibrium through years of adapting to a weaker enemy, while the weaker enemy adapts to a stronger one resulting in … equilibrium

Historical perspective
“The Holocaust is used by Israel, even unconsciously, to justify the oppression of the Palestinians in a way which is heartless and has profound danger for the world as a whole. …
“They [US politicians] support Israel to the tune of £3 billion a year just for armaments, so that the Israeli army is the most powerful in the area, and one of the most powerful in the whole world. It has the nuclear bomb. No one thinks it should not have a nuclear bomb…
“America…. aids and abets the oppression of the Palestinians while at the same time pretending, going through the motions of helping, to set up a state of Palestine within the Israeli State.

“[In Palestine’s West Bank]…The [Israeli’s] building of settlements has gone on and on. They have completely decimated the West Bank, cutting off the Palestinians from their land, their orchards, making it impossible for them to earn a living…

“The early Israelis taught the Palestinians about terrorism. Israel was formed by terrorism. There were a number of gangs, like the Stern gang and the Irgun Zeva’i Le’umi. They fought as terrorists against the British and the Palestinians, and ‘won’ the area we know as Israel. They fought and wrestled for that land just as the Palestinian people are fighting to hold onto the little bit of land that they could call home. It is so unfair, and it has the weight of the American government and the strength of the American dollar and army behind it.
There will never be peace in the world while that situation pertains.
If there is no peace in Palestine, there will be no peace in the world as a whole.
