Ed, went back and had a look to see which posts they were.
206 and philosophy of morals…
I have worked for myself most of my life no big business, sometimes employing one or two people, often working on my own.
Something I did, I couldn’t say learned, early on was to stay focused on the target. I remember sometimes there would be a major breakdown and I would bring the machine home for proper repairs. By then it would have accumulated a number of patchups. I would spend the time to fix or modify the machine to eliminate those problems in the future. My wife would harp about bills having to be paid by a certain date, customers would be waiting, but I stayed tunnel vision on the goal. I would work day and night to repair that machine properly and then work day and night to get jobs finished on time. Never was I late paying bills and never was I late finishing a job, but to do that, my vision must be fixed on the goal.
The Palestinians see their goal and nothing will turn them from it.
In a thread not long back, a long line comments by handwringers thinking everyone should stare at the dead and cry up a river full of tears. Some newbi handwringer poked his head in for the first time fully aboard the wailing and so forth. bubbles thought I was a bit rough on him/her. I don’t have much time for handwringers.

Hopefully, imho at least, this conflict will see the death of the PLO money grubbing frauds and sellouts once and for all.
Obviously there will never be a viable two state solution … Israel must be totally eradicated and a real Platestina State created across all the Palestine territory of the post-WW1 mandate.

Hamas is disappointed at the lack of support from the Arab community in the region, Mousa Abu Marzouk, a member of the group’s political bureau, told Al Jazeera. He specifically blasted what he called the “shameful position of our brothers in the Palestinian Authority,” referring to the de jure government of Palestine in the West Bank. The Palestinian Authority is dominated by Fatah party and enjoys international recognition. It also used to control Gaza until its conflict with Hamas in 2006.
The official also suggested, citing unnamed “foreigners,” that some members of Palestinian Authority and some Arab countries “were secretly calling on the West to eliminate” Hamas.
However, Fatah denounced Marzouk’s statement, with its spokesman suggesting that the official “speaks from an ivory tower.” He stressed that Fatah continues to support “the forces and heroes of our people in their legitimate human resistance in the battle for liberation and defeating the [Israeli] occupation.”
He added, however, that “we call on our brothers in the Hamas movement to form a purely Palestinian front under the umbrella of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the sole legitimate representative of our Palestinian people.”

Can’t speak for the rest, but I never accused Ukraine of terrorism following the SMO, they’re engaged in a fair defence against an invader.
Yes, Russia is an invader. A provoked invader, and one with a legitimate case for self defense.
Prior to the SMO, I have accused the regime in Kiev of terrorism because what else do you call bombing a civilian population in Donbas when all that population has in defence is a grassroots militia?
But here’s a question that will bake your noodle:
Would you call the bombing of civilians in Donetsk by the AFU a terrorist act? Remember, those were actual civilians, not white settler colonialists, not off duty IDF soldiers, not mercenary workers brought in to aid the colonisation of native lands …

Note that Hamas kills “in a gruesome manner” and Israel in a very humane manner. Compared to what Israel could do, Israel is showing its inherent goodness in every civilian that gets killed?

BiBi has another 5 days left in politics. He will be forced to resign.
Posted by: AI | Oct 30 2023 5:08 utc | 345
We’ll have to wait and see but I doubt it. Bibi is their hero now, killing more and more, depopulating Gaza completely will make him even more popular. And he has Russia’s support, doesn’t he? Even official news are nothing but copy/paste from IDF messages including the title (tass.com/world/1698741, tass.com/world/1698635, tass.com/world/1698693). No “allegedly” or anything.
And on the funny news side, Shoigu seems to finally realize no one cares about Russia’s opinions (tass.com/russia/1698785). But he, or the writer of his speech, can’t process the reason yet.

Not only limited but selective and uncritical. What I don’t understand is this: if the Israelites destroyed the Canaanites in the Bible, how can the Palestinians be Canaanites?

Nutty’s speech invoking biblical genocide. Putin speaking on the siege of Leningrad….
Putin seating a veteran that was part of a unit that liberated a death camp between himself and Nutty so Nutty had to look around the veteran to speak to Putin.

A curious, if perhaps utterly sophistical take on the problem at hand: have Israel make a new Gaza for innocent Palestinians (the majority) in a landlocked area of Israel and then, whether Egyptians want it or not, transfer ownership of same landlocked neo-Gaza to Egypt: https://graymirror.substack.com/p/gaza-and-the-nomos-of-the-earth

I have done some limited research in to the history of Palestine.
Posted by: SICKOF USA | Oct 30 2023 6:52 utc | 386
Your research is at the level of the propaganda one is fed in a standard high school textbook on the issue. i.e mediocre.
Explain the linkage between:
1. The Hebrews and the Israelites.
2. The Israelites and the Jews
3. The Hebrews and the Russian Jews
4. The Hebrews and the European Jews
5. Judaism and Jews
6. The Hebrews and Ethiopian Jews
7. The Hebrews and Kaifeng Jews
8. The Khazar empire and the Jews
Next, explain :
1. The Balfour declaration and the process by which it was implemented.
2. Theodore Herzl’s Zionist ideology
3. The Stern Gang, The Irgun and the deir yassin massacre.
4. Where the UN derives the authority to create or recognise states.
5. What your interpretation of the UN’s recognition of the State of Palestine is.
Bonus points:
1. Explain the underlying reasons the Arab States attacked the declared European colony calling itself ‘israel’.

New German ‘peace party’ already third most popular – poll
Prominent MP Sahra Wagenknecht announced on Monday that the new organization will come into existence in early 2024
https://www.rt.com/news/586115-germany-wagenknecht-party-poll/

A new German political party – the brainchild of prominent Left Party MP Sahra Wagenknecht, and which is yet to take form – has already overtaken a member of the ruling coalition government, a poll commissioned by the Bild am Sonntag media outlet has indicated. Wagenknecht is a vocal critic of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s cabinet and its policies regarding the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
In a report on Saturday, Bild am Sonntag cited two surveys conducted over the course of the week – one which features the so far nameless organization, and another that does not. The media outlet attempted to deduce which existing parties will lose supporters to their would-be rival.
Wagenknecht announced her plans at a press conference on Monday, saying that she expects the new party to officially come into being in early 2024.
However, according to one of the polls mentioned above, around 14% of Germans would already vote for the party, putting it in fourth place. Scholz’s Social Democratic Party is just one percentage point ahead, while the other two members of the ruling coalition, the Green Party and the Free Democrats, lag behind Wagenknecht’s dark horse, with 12% and 5% respectively.
The polls suggest that the party that would shed the highest number of voters if the new group enters the political landscape would be the far-right Alternative for Germany Party (AFD). As things stand, 21% of Germans would vote for the AFD; however, if presented with the Wagenknecht option, 4% would change sides. The new party also seems likely to attract voters who would otherwise back smaller parties that are not represented in the German parliament.
Speaking at the press conference on Monday, Wagenknecht expressed hope that her party will run candidates in regional elections in the eastern regions of Saxony, Thuringia, and Brandenburg, as well as in the European Parliament election next year. Explaining the need for a new party, she argued that things “can’t continue like this” or Germans “will probably not recognize our country in ten years.”
Wagenknecht said the party will seek to preserve Germany’s “economic strengths” while working towards social justice. With respect to foreign policy, Berlin should use diplomacy rather than weapon deliveries when dealing with conflicts, she added.
She has been a vocal critic of Scholz’s policies toward Russia regarding the Ukraine conflict, as well as the EU’s sanctions on Moscow, which she says are useless.

The European Germanic, Slavic, Ethiopian and Yemenite (among others) settler colonialists have no genetic linkage with the Hebrews who were made extinct as a nation by the Romans more than a thousand years ago.

I noticed that too. ‘ISRAEL’ tortured civilians, killed them and put civilians on fire ON PURPOSE. Lobs thousands of missiles into Palestine caring not a wit who they kill. Hamas does not do so and you know it or at least you would if you research a little more. Hamas goes out of it’s way to avoid civilian casualties and is probably the most humane army in the world.

Fixed it for you.

Yeah, how do we know those “Canaanites” didn’t get assimilitated into the “Jews” if the chosen people was so careless as not to exterminate them while they still had the chance 1000 BCE or thereabouts?

As is the case today, miscegenation was rife back then.
But then, what does that make them?
Canaano-hebrites?
Hebro-Romans?
Judeo-Pagans?
Either way, the Romans put an end to them as a nation, regardless of whether a couple of haplogroups survived along with the ghost of their kooky little religion.

Jews have always had maintained some presence in Palestine

Still confused between Judaism (a religion) and Hebrews (apparently an extinct ethnicity).
Your research doesn’t say anything about that, does it?

And there is a jerk using your post at 206 to make some kind of point.

I guess that refers to my post @waynorinorway | Oct 30 2023 5:14 utc | 349
If so then your scattergun/loose cannon missed again.
If not, then I guessed wrong and you can pretty much forget this.
First, I’m not any more of a jerk than you. You can check with Peter, james, juliania, for starters.
Second, Peter’s remark that I quoted has a lot to do with the issue of blaming Hamas. Maybe
you didn’t catch the interview with Finklestein, but you should. The link has been posted at
least 6-7 times in the past few days. I could expand on the idea but Peter nailed it just fine.
Third, I have appreciated your posts and have several times written in support them, including
when you were a little strong in your exchanges with Juliania the other day. But there are too many
posts so it’s understandable that you have not seen that or some of my other posts agreeing
with you on other points.

I guess it is just me but this is getting surreal. The Canaanites got assimilated to the Jews, which is why theu have a continued presence in Palestine, but the Palestinians have to be destroyed according to the Biblical precedent which was never followed: killing the Canaanites. And all the colonists should go back but not the State of Israel?
