Palestine Open Thread 2023-237

Only for news & views directly related to the conflict in Palestine.

News of the day:

Gregg Carlstrom @glcarlstrom – 4:51 UTC · Oct 12, 2023

MbS spoke last night with Iran's president Raisi (!). First call ever. From Saudi readout: MbS "expressed deep concern for the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza" and "underscored the kingdom's unwavering stance in standing up for the Palestinian cause."
HRH Crown Prince Receives Phone Call from Iranian President

The call was likely in response to U.S. plans for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza:

The US is in active talks with Israel and Egypt to establish "safe passage" corridors for civilians in Gaza to flee ongoing Israeli airstrikes, the White House said Wednesday amid an expected ground offensive in the besieged enclave.

"We're actively discussing this with our Israeli and our Egyptian counterparts, we support safe passions for civilians. Civilians are not to blame for what Hamas has done. They didn't do anything wrong," National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters at the White House.

"We are actively working on this with Egyptian and our Israeli counterparts. Civilians are protected under the laws of armed conflict, and they should be given every opportunity to avoid the fighting," he added.

The current open thread for other issues is here.

Please stick to the topic. Contribute facts. Do not attack other commentators.

Iran history revisited
When Iran gives up it’s pursuit of weapons of mass destruction
Iran will get the Libya-treatment c/o the US of A.
MAY 17, 2006

AMBASSADOR BOLTON: The only complication is Iran’s continued support for terrorism and its pursuit of weapons of mass destruction.
When Iran is prepared to give that up it can have a different relationship with us as the government of Libya has proven, and as we have proven reciprocally just in the past few days.

How did that work out for Libya?
https://2001-2009.state.gov/p/io/rls/rm/66417.htm
The above context was a gloating Amb. Bolton at a presser following the passage of UN Resolution 1680.
According to Daniel Pipes John Bolton’s 1680 gave the US permission to attack Iran militarily should Hezbollah
create a casus belli. Two months later Israel had a multi-pronged security failure and stand-down (spelled False-Flag)
at a tiny section of it’s border with Lebanon.
Two months prior, March 2006, Olmert had met with his generals to review the status of available plans for invading Lebanon.
In April 2006 Bush met with the Prime Minister Fouad Siniora of Lebanon at the White House.
https://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news/releases/2006/04/images/20060418-2_p041806pm-0322jpg-515h.html
Immediately after the meeting Bush sent a US Major General to Lebanon, the highest ranking US general to visit Lebanon
in over a decade, to meet with his counterparts in the Lebanese Army. His mission was to upgrade the Lebanese Army.
After the war Olmert told the Israeli Winograd Commission that Sec of State Condoleezza Rice had asked Olmert to shape
his attack upon Lebanon so as to not unseat Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.
Also, in May 2006 Hezbollah found a weak point in the border and attempted to exploit it, they failed. The IDF then knew
where they could assist Hezbollah the next time. Following the attempt he IDF was initially all over that section of the border, like bees
on a beehive-invading bear. Then suddenly the IDF stood down. The IDF later claimed that the intelligence officer in charge
of that sector had been replaced, mid beehive storm, and his replacement didn’t understand the significance of the intelligence
he was reviewing. The general in charge of that sector would later state that if he himself had seen 10% of the intelligence
reports he never would have had his forces stand down. The general had also asked for professional soldiers to
begin patrolling that sector of the border after the stand down, he claimed his requests were denied by headquarters. Weekend warriors
doing part time duty were put on that sector. A security camera was supposed to be put in place to remove a blind spot on the
border, installation met with “delays”.
The weekend warriors were at the end of their assignment the night they encountered Hezbollah, triggering the 2006 invasion of
Lebanon. They were going to ride up and down the border and then head home. They had packed their personal luggage into their
vehicles. Repeat: They had packed their personal luggage into their vehicles. No one had briefed them as they set out that night
that alarms were being triggered up and down the border by Hezbollah.
They had packed their personal luggage into their vehicles. They had not been briefed. They weekend warriors had packed
their personal luggage into their vehicles.
Egoz an elite IDF unit (similar to our Navy Seals) that specializes in guerrilla and anti-guerrilla warfare, **including assassination
by demolition**, had been at the border also, but their commander had testified that they had stood down when the other IDF forces had stood down.
But did they *all* stand down?
Had they all stood down? After the weekend warriors were taken by Hezbollah it took over two hours for the IDF to give pursuit.
After going 75 yards across the border a pursuing tank was totally demolished. Totally. The tank had been ordered to check out a
small shack 75 yards across the border. When they reached it, “kaboom”! That killed the IDF pursuit and rescue.
The newspapers claimed it was a Merkava 2 tank, a general would later reveal it had been the latest and greatest – a Merkava 5.
The general believed only a demolition charge could have obliterated a Merkava 5 in that manner.
Later, in what might remind you of Seal Team 6, Egoz suffered two surprising, separate but similar incidents of multiple deaths by
hand grenades.

A cogent analysis by Roger Boyd…
https://rogerboyd.substack.com/p/the-war-for-occupied-palestine
The reality is that Hamas has struck at a time when Zionist munition stocks are low (emptied to supply Ukraine), the Jewish population has become accustomed to a make believe life where they live as if they were in Brooklyn and the Palestinians are kept quietly subjugated and dispossessed while out of sight and out of mind, the Zionist military is made of much softer types than served in 1948, and the normalization of Zionist-Arab State relations are at a critical point. As an occupied people, shoved into an open air concentration camp with little future to look forward to, the Palestinians in Gaza have nearly nothing to lose while the Zionists have everything to lose.
The Palestinians have already:
· Destroyed the myth that Zionists can live peacefully in Occupied Palestine, enjoying a US-style life experience, as if they are living in Brooklyn with a few well-controlled prisons and a large concentration camp down the road. The result of this will be the emigration of the more economically successful, aided by the threat to liberalism which the extremist Zionist (basically a Jewish ISIS) elements are successfully pushing within the Zionist institutions.
· Destroyed the “invincibility” of the Israeli Defence Force (IDF), which has been trading on this myth for a long time. An apartheid state surrounded by a much bigger population cannot afford to be seen as soft and incompetent.
· Destroyed any possibility of a normalization of relations between the Arab states and the Zionist regime, Saudi Arabia has already ended all negotiations with Israel on the normalization of relations.
· Shown their own technical and military capabilities, in a Tet-style offensive which signals to the world that the war for Occupied Palestine will not end until the stolen land is returned.

I recommend one and all read it in it’s entirety… It’s full of further gems..

I am not even Jewish but the anti-semitism here is palpable and bothersome.

Conflation of anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism is anti-Semitic. And if you feel the need to raise the specter of anti-Semitism whilst the Jewish colonial state is carrying out an annihilation of indigenous peoples then your opinion isn’t warranted or wanted. Good riddance.

LOL I knew the “babies” beheaded meme would fall apart. So far there has been one blurred out picture of a baby like object in a baby carrier with some red stuff behind it. The head is blurred but clearly intact. The only other two photos provided are of charred objects that could be anything, but I’m willing to accept that they may have been infants abandoned by their parents in burning houses.
Still NADA on the “rave”!

Correlation is not causation.
Your thesis is conjecture and on examination baseless. Qaddafi was removed for a variety of reason, but fundamentally because of his sticking his nose into the Bankster Empire’s money system: the Golden Dinar is the reason he was dispatched, not “a lack of nuclear weapons”.
> pursuit of weapons of mass destruction
Like a pregnancy, I suppose. IR occupying Iran and its “partners” in the occult West have had this show on for a long time.
You know, nuclear weapons are like babies.
“We are pursuing a baby!”
“They are pursuing a baby! Hold the guns!”
“We have decided not to have a baby!”
“Attack!”
Ridiculous.

Whatever is done has to be done in such a way that the cornered rats (Israel/US) don’t go nuclear.

The insane zealots at the helm of the Zionist state seem fully capable of greenlighting the Samson failsafe, but I remain relatively optimistic that nuclear weapons will never be used again in human history.

If that thesis had even a shred of truth — IR was permitted to go on unmolested because they are pursuing “nooclear weapons” — then d’oh isn’t the best time to hit them before they get their nukes rather than ‘trick them’ into stopping their “pursuit”?
It’s so stupid, my apologies, but it really is. Thesis: X must be destroyed. We have not done so because we’re waiting for them to get nukes or stop getting nukes.
Aha.

It’s interesting how b let the Zionist trolls off the hook and tried to ban one of my IPs (not that I tried to use more than one IP, but in dynamic IP mode I apparently get many different IPs) and called me an idiot. b also seems to be one of the pro-Zionist types who hide behind “tolerating” anti-Zionism, just as Gray Area is. Zionist types.
Okay, I just exit.

Robinthehood.
I think you are very wrong this has nothing to do with 2 extremist sides never has. Put yourself in the Palestinians place. The powers that took control after WW2 decide that the Jews needed a new home. They take a chunk of land from the people of Palestine Just like we did to Native Americans. We demanded you all get along now. The Israelis never did they kept cutting down olive groves, burning house, killing, jailing, beating, and lying. Here we are now 2023 do you think you can work with these people? Do you think you can work with USA? These creature are not human They are pure evil mixed with massive greed. Neither the Israelis nor the USA give a rats ass About anyone and never will.
SPB
You are wrong About this being anti Jew. It is very much about Anti Israel. Israel Is made up of Jews so they are taking the blame. Some of the biggest fighters against Israel in the US are Jews. They are by far the leaders in educating Americans of the reality of Israel. They have also been speaking out on Ukraine and the Nazis. But I think you know this and like to try to. Tag this site as anti Semitic cause it used to always work.

As for extremists – every single western leader is either a psychopath who’s been to Epstein island or its analogue, or a cretin, and is hysterically trying to genocide their own population and ram it into the schwab great reset final torture camp. The population is not much less extremist, happily going along with anything at all as long as they don’t need to take responsibility for their lives, and as long as they get to keep their drugs and distractions. “Duty” is anathema to them. The only ones they’re going to violently muzzle are the putinists, conspiracy theorists, or whatever they call a person with a brain these days.
The adults and sane people are in BRICS and other non-western countries.

Both sides are responsible. Both peoples have the duty to -muzzle- their extremists. Then the adults and the sane can sit down and negotiate, in good faith, to find an optimal outcome.

The USA is not agreement capable.
After bipartisan pressure, the Biden administration and Qatari government agree to block Iran from accessing any of the $6 billion it gained access to as part of a prisoner swap deal, an official told House Democrats, according to three sources.

It doesn’t matter how many nice words are put on it. No amount of nice negotiation will prevent Israils constant encroachment of Palestine with the inevitable ending that all Palestinians will either be killed or driven as refugees from their own land. Exactly the same as Anglo European US slowly swallowed the lot. They would grab some land and sign a treaty. when more land was required, the treaty was nothing more than toilet paper until in the end the entire indigenous population had been killed or the few survivors locked up on reservations often far from their own land.
Israel, like the Americans in all its agreements, is not agreement capable when it comes to Palestine.

For starters: the violent overthrow of their “leaders.”
Posted by: malenkov | Oct 12 2023 17:50 utc | 167
I suspect this would serve the interest of RF well.
But if they find leaders that fund effective resistance that reflect the totality of their society instead of a fundamentalist core — like Qatar, UAE, KSA, and Iran funding extremists of various hues wrapped in “Islam” — they would be immediately successful.
However, it is likely that in the “violent overthrow” of their current leaders, they will become, like Iranians, captives of armed and oppressive psuedo-cults.
I did not appreciate, as a Muslim, to hear V. Putin talk about what is in “every Muslim heart”. These cynical actors who pursue their geopolitial aims by dog whistling.
V. Putin bombed many Muslims in Chechnya. My Muslim heart is still hurting from that …

How many times can people fall for the same trick?
September 11th was a “security failure” that gave a
casus belli for the warmonger set. Ask “who benefits”.
The 2006 invasion of Lebanon by the IDF was also preceded
by a multi-pronged “security failure”. It served the interests
of the warmongers and gave them the war they wanted.
It failed in one important aspect, however. The IDF had imagined
that they could just brush Hezbollah aside from the air.
They were wrong. They then sent in a ground invasion and their soldiers
it was shown had grown soft. Their previous duties had been harassing
civilians. The biggest failure was that the warmongers had planned
to pivot when they had brushed aside Hezbollah and then take the war
to Syria and Iran.
We just witnessed a “security failure” at the Gaza border. Our
warmonger pols are calling for attacks upon Iran.
How many times can people fall for the same trick?

I very highly suggest watching the 47 minute Crooke interview which is embedded in this article that reviews it. Yes, it was recorded on the 10th, but the overall situation hasn’t changed much since then. One of the most troubling things he relates is a leak from a French diplomat that threatens an attack on Syria’s leadership should Hezbollah intervene when the Zionists cross Hezbollah’s well stated redline and invade Gaza. Such an action would bring Russia in most assuredly.

Notice how the talk about the outdoor music festival or “rave” has completely stopped. 240+ bodies all piled up, but we’ve already started our bombing atrocities, so no need to dwell on that, amirite?!
BTW – Someone asked a very good question here the other day. If the Ukros have in fact somehow sold arms to Hamas, why no anti-aircraft SAMs? Wouldn’t that have been the most handy thing of them all, knowing – as anyone with two brain cells to rub together would have known – that the Zionists would launch massive waves of “retaliatory” airstrikes and bombing campaigns on captive Gaza? A Javelin (or whatever the SAM version is) taking out an Israeli F-16 sure woulda been nice!

In France, this new battle is a political decisive event. From the far right to the socialists, all the partys are condemning the left party LFI because LFI refuse to say that Hamas is terrorist. There is no free speach about Palestine, no free demonstrations but it is not enough. Now, more and more rightists say that LFI (20% in the elections) must be forbidden. I am afraid that we are going to end of the republic. French politicians became as stupid as the english ones.

Siege of Leningrad! When i read this line in the Hersh article i really was not shure if i should cry or laugh. As a historical analogy it would still end bad for Israel. Beside that the west would simply ignore it for shure. Like shelling of Donetzk and other atrocities of their proxys.
Russia becomes more and more the wild card so it seems not in sense of diplomacy but in terms of breaking the blockade together with Turkey for example. Not shure how far Putin (explicitly naming him) is willing to go in such a case.
Anyway…no matter of history rimes or repeats as a farce its time to listen to Shostakovich’s 7th Symphonie (Leningrad) again and memorize the famous melody once more.
What the fuck are they doing?! Imagine the freaks blow up AlAqsa in case the wind turns against them. Even if not officially as goverment policy only as a final gesture of Shmotrich & Co. ! Who has the keys to the tunnels they were digging and holding cabinet meetings in, right underneeths Al Aqsa? Btw. its pure criminal that this fact is not reported in the west.
Ukraine seems like football hooligan street riot compared to this mess (in terms of world wide consequences).

Posted by: Susan | Oct 12 2023 17:53 utc | 169
So what is reasonable? Should we Americans (native born or immigrants like me) start packing and we all head back to the lands we hailed from and leave the land for the native Americans?
There are two distinct issues here: origination and grievances, and, finding a path forward.
“These creature are not human They are pure evil mixed with massive greed. Neither the Israelis nor the USA give a rats ass About anyone and never will.”
You must realize such absolute blanket statements are neither helpful nor remotely factual.
Do people want to get along or settle scores.
That is the question.

Very accureate portrayal of the UK.
Also note how the jug-eared aspirant tampon is avidly supportive of the Zionists.
Indicative of the secondary loyalty of the allegedly ‘British’ monarch (prime being to his own family mountain of hidden and overt wealth siphoned from the rightful assets of the public).

The preoccupation of the entire Western hegemon right now seems to be anxiously barking and screeching at Hezbollah. Seems as if they are afraid of what they are capable of doing to the Zionist state. The ideological crackdowns will ramp up, I’m afraid–they will become more and more necessary if the IDF attempts anything more severe than it has.

Fascinating bit of news seems to have leaked out and not spun hard enough. This is mostly being ignored in MSM.
Israel was warned attack was coming, congressman says USAToday 11Oct23

Israel officials were notified by neighboring Egypt that an attack was possible three days before it happened, according to a congressman with insight into such matters.
Rep. Michael McCaul, a Republican from Texas who’s the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said the Hamas onslaught Saturday likely resulted from a “failure of intelligence” and that it was uncertain how both the U.S. and Israel were caught by surprise.
“We know that Egypt had warned the Israelis three days prior that an event like this could happen,” McCaul told reporters. “We know that this had been planned perhaps as long as a year ago.”
McCaul added that “a warning was given,” but it wasn’t clear at what level of government.

This was from McCaul right after he walked out of a closed-door briefing by national security officials. But:

Netanyahu has denied having prior knowledge of the attack, calling those reports “absolutely false.” Other reports indicate the information may have been passed along but never reached his desk because it lacked details.

So is Netanyahu saying McCaul or US National Security officials are lying? McCaul’s weak mea culpa is the report may have ‘lacked details’. Really? Was Egypt’s report: “Some guy at the barber shop’s neighbor said his uncle heard that…”? Sounds a lot more like everyone is back-pedaling, trying to do damage control until they muddy the waters enough and everyone just forgets about it.

McCaul said the focus now is on keeping the conflict from expanding with the involvement of other militant groups in the region.
“We’re very concerned about the fidelity of our intelligence and the escalation of a conflict in the Middle East that could turn into a global Jihad movement in Israel,” he said.

Yeah, almost too late for that. Israel has bent over backwards to bill this uprising as a uniquely Hamas act (to justify leveling Gaza to eliminate Hamas), which is far from the truth. It’s a general uprising that has swept up *all* militant groups in Gaza. I was confused by images of Palestinian Islamic Jihadi guys operating outside the wall on Saturday (not necessarily alongside al Qassam, but cooperating), but most organized Gaza militant groups were involved. They all are convinced that 1) this is never going to end for Gaza, and 2) Gaza has nothing to lose anymore *despite* the guaranteed efforts of its total destruction by Israel in retaliation. They’re still supported by many (most?) people in Gaza. Everyone in Gaza pretty much knew what would be coming and could no longer tolerate waiting or ‘doing nothing’ anymore despite the risk. Dangerous resolve that Israel isn’t going to erase no matter how long they carpet bomb Gaza. Eliminating Hamas is futile – it’s already bigger than that.
And another narrative apparently being aggressively managed for now:
Remember those 20 – 25 ‘US’ hostages reported this weekend? Seems like an unusually large number relative to the total (100+ hostages Hamas took back to Gaza). Are they just claiming dual US-Israeli citizens that have relocated to/lived in Southern Israel for years? Convenient PR for that all-important US sympathy (and military aid).
But is there something more to that oddly disproportionate number?
Maybe sheep-dipped US soldiers illegally stationed in Israel? Jesus… that would be a scandal.
Then there’s the rave which was coincidentally moved on Wednesday – the specific time McCaul said the Egyptian report came in. Were these US (dual)citizen ravers singled out and grabbed at the festival? Note the rave was moved to an odd location on the main route (Hwy. 232) that several Hamas units would be using to get to IDF’s Camp Re’im and bases beyond it. LIHOP?
That, and there is video evidence of the festival security throwing up roadblocks ON that highway about 8:30, essentially blocking in everyone told to evacuate earlier but didn’t. The festival was shut down and everyone was told to leave by security after the rockets started flying (6:40 or so).
Shooting is heard before 7:00, but nobody seems to know where its coming from and no gunshot victims are seen on any videos at that time. It may have been *near* the festival, not on or at it. In any case, why would *anyone* with a car be left there an hour and a half later?
And why would security block the highway without any ‘enemy’ in sight, then let dozens of cars still at the festival line up behind you ON the highway? The blockade did nothing but force Hamas (who showed up minutes later) to fight their way through to get to their objective on the other side: Re’im military base. The ‘highway of death’ images show just how many cars were funneled on to the highway and trapped by the useless blockade – almost like the intent of the blockade was specifically to trap the remaining ravers directly on the highway in a traffic jam.
Any rational ‘security’ response would have blocked the festival entrances/exits well before the highway if they thought there was some kind of threat ON the highway. Festival security should have been protecting the ravers on the grounds, not playing useless hero with a few pistols. By the looks of the video, they fled on foot as soon as the shooting started – abandoning everyone they trapped.
People have also been looking into the festival promoters (Tribe of Nova) and those security guys. Maybe those were the ‘US hostages’? Maybe Blackwater/Academi or CIA stooges? No wonder we’re not hearing anything about the festival strangeness.

let’s see, you don’t like Hamas, resisting the IDF is futile, you don’t like Putin tho Kadyrov seems to accept him, I’m getting the same vibes off you I got off Boris Badenov.

“you don’t like Hamas”
correct.
“resisting the IDF is futile”
Never said. Israel, never mind the IDF, is finished if things go out of hand.
Resisting Israeli occupation under a doctrine that permits compromise would be great. Same goes for Israelis. They need to elect governments that are open to coexistence. Like that Rabin guy.
“you don’t like Putin tho Kadyrov seems to accept him”
Kadyrov got to play Sheikh in Putin’s gaudy little show province. Of course he does.
I don’t like any of the world leaders.
“I’m getting the same vibes off you I got off Boris Badenov.”
My impression of you is that you may in fact live up to your twisted name.

Such an action would bring Russia in most assuredly.

Russia’s move into Ukraine came at a time when he felt Russia had made enough preparations to face down the US in everyway and everywhere. A game of nuclear chicken and Putin doesn’t bluff. Russia will not veer aside at the last moment. US was very close to going nuclear to defeat Russia in Ukraine but the cold hard fact that Russia’s strategic deterrent would destroy them no matter made them eventually put those thoughts away. The Israel project however is far closer to their hearts (or what passes for hearts in those types) than slavic Ukraine – expendable Ukraine – could ever be.
What is now building up in the middle east/Levant will be very much touch and go, more so than Ukraine until the US concedes defeat.

LOL what a joke. I really can’t stand British news personalities. The other Hamas guy was wrong calling him a “journalist” – We don’t have too many of those anymore in the West and the ones that we do have are bounced out of Sky, BBC, and the American outlets pretty much right away.
“WHADDDBOUT DA TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY BOOHHHDEEESSS??”
What about them, dipshit? Have YOU seen a picture? Cuz I sure as fuq ain’t seen anything remotely resembling one.
But to his overall point, NO civilians were intentionally killed. Well now. If true, and I don’t doubt it could be, that would explain a LOT about how the Western media has gone about selling this war.

Odd how some like Pompeo are (for them) so unusually quiet just now.
Would have expected “armageddonists” to be rather excited at what’s going on…
(unless it doesn’t quite fit their cultist predictions?)
