A plasma sheath that has a high density of free electrons will block essentially all radio bands. But if the density is low, an ultra high frequency signal can get through. Some barflies are familiar with shortwave radio which uses the ionosphere. The ionosphere consists of layers of weak plasma and is reflective for radio signals where the wavelength is long enough to interact with enough free electrons. But about about 50 MHz (thus shorter wavelengths), the signals pass straight through the ionosphere into outer space. The “Maximum Usable Frequency” means where the signal can be reflected back to earth, and that varies from as low as about 8 MHz up to maybe 55 MHz, depending on the sunspot cycle (more spots = stronger ionosphere), time of day, season of the year, etc. As this related to missiles, perhaps signals well above 30 GHz might get through, but I doubt it. As I recall, in the Apollo program of the 1960’s, the plasma blocked 3 GHz signals during re-entry of the space capsule. Keep in mind that attenuation on the outbound radar pulse also applies to the inbound reflection, so it’s a double whammy against radar range, and I doubt it’s a good use of payload mass to run a super powerful radar. Inertial navigation has been highly perfected since the 1960’s and doesn’t provide a beacon for anti-missile missiles to lock onto.
Perhaps there is a way to keep the plasma from forming at the very tip of the missile, especially at hypersonic speed. That bit of hydrodynamics is well above my pay grade, but maybe some else at the bar has an answer.

It pays to be a teflon club member,,..
Fancy killing a gringo, with a helping hand from Washington ?
When three American nuns were raped and killed in El Salvador..
Sec of state, Jean Kirkpatrick [a broad FFS] volunteered for the killers legal counsel,

Those nuns are leftists, prolly gate crashing a road block…hell,, they were asking for it !

Moral of the story.
In the eyes of tptb, there’r only two kind of people, assets and liabilities., your color and nationality counts for nuthin
Exhibit B
In 1973,
CIA fingered an US citizen for liquidation in Chile by ‘our kind of guy‘ Pinochet !
Pinochet was an useful asset, the American who opposed him was a liability.
Lots of chest thumping gringo still dont get it tho

It pays to be a telfon club member
How about this….
We all know FUKUSAss aka AUKUS snooped on ‘friends’ and ‘foe’ alike, including their wives.
One fine afternoon, Pine Gap intercepted an INdon commander ordering his men to kill some Americans, in order to frame the West Puapan separatists.
Whadayaknow , FUKUSAss didnt intervene.
When the Indon police fingered the army as suspects for the murder, guess what, Washington arm twisted Jakarta to drop the case and scapegoated some Puapan separatists instead.
All cuz the Indon army was an coveted asset for USAss cordon sanitaire around China !
While those murdered Americans were merely useless eaters !
Help this help !

Ukrainian Nazi Hunka Charged in Absentia With Genocide – Russian Investigators
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Yaroslav Hunka, a Ukrainian Nazi veteran who addressed the Canadian parliament in September, has been charged in absentia with genocide against civilians during the World War II, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Friday.
Last month the Russian Ambassador noted what he expected from the Canadian authorities:
Oleg Stepanov, Russian Ambassador to Canada:
“Unfortunately, I’m sure that the Canadian authorities will launch such a long bureaucratic process that this 98-year-old SS-man will simply be allowed to quietly pass on to another world here. In order not to recognize his real crime on a legal level. This is unfortunately the reality of Canada today.”
Canada is too busy moaning about the alleged violation of the Vienna Convention by India in expelling a few dozen Canadian embassy staff to pay attention to Ambassador Oleg. But give it time. Canada is just peevish and spiteful enough to ask him to leave as well. Especially when it comes to embarrassing the country over Canada’s odious and long-standing love affair with Nazis.

Another reason to feel overwhelmed: Public health is being exploited by the UN World Health Organisation as a Trojan Horse to introduce a frightful degree of globally centralised authoritarian government. It must be stopped.

A question to the bar.
Right now there is a “Palestine Open Thread” and a “Ukraine Open Thread”. What threads will MoA have one year from now?

Much has been made WRT the inability of USArmy/Navy to sustain a war… As a Naval Veteran, I appreciate the importance of this report…
https://t.me/CIG_telegram/38143
Operation Desert Storm was endorsed by the United Nations and therefore it had large coalition support, meaning that the US could tap into shipping of other nations.” John Konrad
🚢 “Maersk, the Danish maritime behemoth and a principal commercial transportation partner for the U.S. military, has chosen to divest its U.S. flagged tanker fleet along with select U.S. military contracts… Concurrently, the company is escalating its investments gloablly including in China, prompting speculations into whether these developments are interconnected.”
📄 “The Department of Defense is projected to need on the order of one hundred tankers of various sizes in the event of a serious conflict in the Pacific,” said former Maersk executive Steve Carmel in a gCaptain editorial. “Not only does the U.S. lack the tonnage required to support a major conflict in the Pacific, it has no identifiable roadmap to obtain it.”

I am of the opinion that the US/NATO has just made it impossible for other nations to support it in a coming war..

Hungarians sometimes think they have a link with China via the Huns. Modern Hungary is Xiongeli in modern Chinese, same name as the Xiong-nu, the eastern Huns, who gave the Han dynasty much trouble.

Does anybody understand this (plasma) issue or know of a good site or even technical paper that explains it?
Thanks
Posted by: Typing Monkey | Oct 19 2023 14:46 utc | 2

I suggest you try NASA’s website.
1. It’s very well organised.
2. It has a Search facility which returns RELEVANT results.
3. NASA are the folks who informed us about the hypersonic plasma phenomenon.
4. NASA update their records when new info pops up.
5. If they’re not 100% certain about the validity of a routine assumption, they say so.

It pays to be a teflon club member, just ask Israel , India, Indon, etc etc….
Another fine afternoon, Pine Gap again intercepted an Indon army message, an order to kill the five anglo journo snooping around in E Timor, before they broadcasted the massacre of civies to the world.
Once again, FUKUSAss did nuthin
The Bablo five were castrated and shot in cold blood.
The silence was deafening.
See, Indon was too important to offend, like India, like Israel, like etc etc.
During the 2nd Opium war, USAss was supposed to be neutral.
Yet an USN commander intervened to assist a LImey fleet assault on a Chinese fort.
A sailor was perplexed,

BUt sir, aint some of your family killed in the 1812

?
The captain replied

BUt son, that was a family squabble.
This time around we’r all facing the eastern barbarians.
BLood is thicker than water.

Which is why,
The [five liars] always hunt together, like hyenas.
Besides, they always hit below the belt, kinda like hyenas.
BUt all too often, it’d seems that,
Oil is even thicker than blood

Can someone help me out with a piece that was recently featured on Moon of Alabama? I am writing an opinion piece on ASEAN foreign policy and need the outrageous proposal by an Austrian politician that Russia be busted up into four obedient vassal states, (presumably so western wolverines can pile in and strip all the tasty mineral, agricultural etc. resources, in an echo of the post-1991 free-for-all).
I have hunted for that Austrian on Google without success. But I did learn that Woody Wilson actually proposed a partition of Russia back around the time of WW I.
Thanks and hi from the volcanoes of West Java.

You’re thinking of Gunther Fehlinger, an investment consultant who hasn’t had a role in a pilitical party since his student days and who, despite the names of the large handfuls of interest groups he heads, has no formal affiliation with NATO.
He’s just a random nut case.

Bhadrakumar writes that the US is now doubling down on Ukraine, seeing a loss there as an existential defeat of US global power and influence.
“So, Ukraine war is no longer about the Westphalian principle of national sovereignty and the UN Charter — or even about this being not an era of wars. It is actually about American leadership, American alliances, American values — plainly put, hegemony, NATO, exceptionalism.”
https://www.indianpunchline.com/biden-gives-booster-dose-to-the-faltering-ukraine-war/
The time may have arrived to rethink a very early suggestion of b’s: to sink a US carrier group.

Here is an interview between ex-US Marine and pro-Palestinian activist Ken O’Keefe and Phil Tourney, a survivor of the attack on the USS Liberty. The interview starts at the 30:10 mark:
Phil Tourney Live with Ken O’Keefe 10/19/2023
The interview is 26 minutes long and is often quite emotional, but I believe it is important eye witness testimony to an event that could be replayed today.

I’ve been reading a lot about the Palestinians building tunnels both before and during the course of their wars, and the Israelis not knowing where they all are.
Here’s my question: all these tunnels require a lot of soil displacement, right?
1. Where does all that dug up soil go?
2. Given how heavily surveilled the Gaza Strip and West Bank are, why is it not “obvious” where the entry and exit points to the tunnels are?
Maybe a slightly better phrased question is: how do you obscure all the soil displacement when the opposite side has cameras, drones, and satellites everywhere and the landmass is very small (unlike, say, Ukraine, where surveillance would need to exhaustively cover an absolutely enormous area)?

They can’t pay these ponzi rates for very long, but they’ll try to bankrupt some other country(s) first in order to create intl. demand for $ / to have somewhere $ capital can expand to.

A ‘leak’, yeah. Wonder why anybody would leak that now – maybe to confuse Tehran and provoke it into launching a “pre-pre-emptive strike” on Israel?
Washington is insolvent. They just don‘t know it yet.

Hey Malenkov, many thanks for that lead. Indeed the Fehlinger exposition did smell like “nut case” when I came across the preposterous “break up Russia” fantasy. Judging from the growing conflicts and unhappiness within the EU and USA, it is more likely there will be stresses and strains leading to political fractures there than in Russia or (as has been suggested) China.
Latest story floated about is that half a dozen US states are flirting with BRICS – perceiving common interests in linkage. Only a few years ago that sort of proposition would have been unbelievable. Today the incredible is wrapping itself around the credible-then-likely quicker and quicker. Washington and Brussels are running the risk of irrelevance.
Oh and by the way Malenkov – you really shouldn’t be relying on Bulganin’s tailor for your fashion ensemble. He makes the two of you look so dowdy.

The US elections, of course. Trumpadump vs. Hidin’ Biden, Demons vs Reptilians.

Those ones and …
BRICS and mortars (for local conflicts dedolarization and destabilization)
US-CHINA (lukewarm/commercial) war
I don’t expect ukraine to last beyond 2023 (see ukraine thread)
One way or another the Israel/palestine situation can’t last more than a couple of months (Israel doesn’t do long wars)

Bush II had no plans for occupying Iraq after the war. Probably he thought the Second Coming of Jesus would solve that problem, like all others.
Biden the Dim apparently has no plans on how to fight his war with China. Will the Space Brothers rescue him?

Interesting technical question. 😉
Without any intimate tunnelling knowledge, I’d assume that most tunnel entrances are located inside buildings – garages, basements, garden sheds… As for the extracted soil, it might help to remember that Gaza is being regularly bombarded and rebuilt, so the whole place has a lot of construction sites. There’ll be heaps of debris and dug-up soil a bit everywhere; not difficult to add some under the cover of night.
You planning any tunnelling of your own?
If so, mind your knees – that’s how Sherlock Holmes knew some bad guy had been digging a tunnel. 😉

Thanks, Smuks.
Not planning to dig my own tunnel, per se–just hoping to make an updated adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption 🙂
Your answer may be the correct one, though–my other question was how does a heavily surveilled small area under heavy sanction get so much concrete unnoticed, and your theory provides as good of an explanation as any 🙂
