Doubt that very much in the UK, the secondary school history syllabus, ‘Rise of the Dictators and the origins of WWII’ does not paint a favourable picture of Herr Hitler, and the hyper-condensed WWII module on WWII clearly shows Germany to be the aggressor, with Russia’s role in defeating Hitler acknowledged. Being accused of any pro-Nazi sympathies here is a social death sentence, though this is being somewhat vitiated by Leftists using the term whenever they are losing an argument, which is often.

As a Canadian I was utterly disgusted with our political class happily giving a standing ovation to a veteran of the Waffen SS in our parliament, a man described as “fighting for Ukrainian independence” rather than the truth of fighting for the Nazis and helping the murder of Poles, Jews and freedom fighters in other nations fighting against Nazi Germany. Applauding the dictator Zelensky was not enough, so they wheeled in the SS veteran!
The level of lying and delusion that the Canadian comprador political class will stoop to seems to know no bounds these days.

Thanks Paddy, and an eye opener. I had not considered the subs and infrastructure. A whole other set of expenses & considerations.

I am pondering if Von Der Leyen’s apparent attempt to imply Russia was responsible for the nuking of Hiroshima should be included, or to just view it as her poor command of English …

Of course the Russians (aka the Soviets) were/are responsible for Hiroshima AND Nagasaki. Everyone knows that the Japanese had to be forced to surrender BEFORE the Russians (aka the Soviets) could land on Hokkaido and seize the island. And thus be part of the capitulation of Japan.

As you know, it’s important to not exaggerate in any direction, exactly because we never want to be doing a
Van der Leiden ourselves. I’ve read a lot of unz.com and I generally pay attention to what Ron Unz himself writes.
I’ve seen exactly one article, not by Ron Unz IIRC, which merely suggested that the USSR might attack Germany in the 1940’s, and consequently pleaded for the legitimacy to consider that Hitler was only acting in a defensive mode.
Of course that idea is completely at odds with all the facts that are in a thousand history books. You know this too.
The issue is whether any web site should ever give latitude to even consider any idea that is flat wrong. Not to claim that the idea is true, but just to gnaw on it. unz.com has a wide range of opinions and anaylsis. You can find vigorous defenses of David Irving, for example. Having spent more time on it than it was worth to me, I never saw much to show that Irving outright lied to whitewash the Nazis. Yes, like historians do, he got close to his sources and may have been somewhat captured by them, but I’ve seen far far more innuendo against him than hard facts. Offhand, I can’t think of any other large-scale defense of the brown plague at unz.com. The site has excellent analyses by Laurent Guyénot that you can’t find anywhere else. Michael Whitney is probably their most prolific writer and much of his material comes from wsws.org. OMG, Red Scare Time. It’s an obvious fact that the site covers Jewish influence and misdeeds. There’s a lot of that, and fortunately some Jews oppose Jewish crimes. Ron Unz is just one of many.
Going just one step further, Loompanics, a publishing company that thrived in the 1970’s, would publish any damn thing. Flat Earth, Hollow Earth, UFO’s, and … all sorts of conspiracy theories, even theories that were true and unsafe to publish. They were publishing turds and gems without discrimination. That may have been more profitable, but more to the point, it may have provided Loompanics editors protection from Executive Action.
One thing life taught me is that valuable truths don’t usually come from tall dark handsome strangers in a suit or on a white horse. And if you are hoping for someone to come and rescue you, it’s less likely to be one of those good-looking strangers. It’s the difference between Hollywood and Real Life. In the 1970’a, when hitch-hiking was common and safe, I was lucky to learned a lot from total strangers. I thought at the time that bumming rides from the side of a highway was God’s way of throwing information my way. Conversely, in the age of the internet, the curated websites are the most useless. What makes MoA so uniquely valuable is that there is no censorship. For that, I thank God and Bernard.

President Putin will be visiting China in October of this year.
The likely agenda will include discussion and decision making on how to respond to the USA’s tacit declared intention of impending war against both Russia and China. Can the two leaders afford to do nothing?
Putin’s words, (paraphrased), “if war is inevitable, strike first”
Getting North Korea on side was a first step.
The USA has made it abundantly clear to the whole World that it regards Russia as an enemy and is pursuing a war against Russia which will not be ended by any peace deal in Ukraine.
The peace deal needs to be between Russia-China and the USA.

Yeah, they had all those armoured divisions trained in an aggressive doctrine of manoeuvre, and all those attack submarines and all those truckers constantly checking fording points of major rivers, because they were a purely defensive force, deployed to shield against NATO, the force they significantly out-numbered on the ground. I guess the Berlin Wall was also to protect East German citizens from the evils of higher-standards of living and personal freedom.

“The greatest failing was, not keeping the Americans out”
Another “failing” might be… the continuation of “colony” status under the British Monarchy and the servitude to the Crown after the French left. Your no more “independent” than the U.S. or French are at this juncture. Federal Reserve has us all by the balls.

As to your prediction that Russia will capture the entirely of Zaphoriza and Kherson by the end of the 3rd week in October, well, we’ve got about a month to go. I will be interested to see how good your prediction ends up.

Given that the same thing is happening at the Russian and Chinese sites:
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/09/22/asia/nuclear-testing-china-russia-us-exclusive-intl-hnk-ml/index.html
Does that mean the US will have to rely on the UK and French for nuclear weapons? And Russia and China will rely on? Pakistan? India?

Nah, I’m suggesting they’ll start there offensive the 2-3rd week in October. I don’t know how long to capture them will take.
And thx for correction on UNSC Chair. I don’t know why I had that ingrained for some reason.
It’s simply that Ukraine is wearing down, and the NPP has got to get fully secured along with the outliers of Khearson.
Again, it’s only what I’d do. It’s just an opinion.

CitizenSmith @ 108

The peace deal needs to be between Russia-China and the USA.

Excellent and exactly right. And, we are a long way from that. Despite the last 20 months I’m not even sure we are at the Dunkirk point in the timeline, certainly not at the Pearl Harbor point, which will be when China enters the war militarily. I don’t believe history repeats and WW3 has a big hybrid war component, seems it will be longer than four years to get to that peace deal, but hopefully with a lot less than 50 million dead.

@112 and @115 – russ. offensive end oct23
I think you are wrong, first, it depends on weather and secondly, the cities are easy to be fortified, after bahkmut, I dont think, RU will make the same mistake.
IMO, they will escalate by bombing the infrastructure and send a lot of new refugees towards EU.
but in the meantime, they will be still destroying all pieces of AFU on the contact line.

Your post was a lot to think about. As for Ukraine, I don’t see China wading in at all, or anymore than they have. They certainly aren’t going to go so far as a “peace guarantor” or sign anything.
Their meeting frankly won’t be much about Ukraine… it’s all lining up the BRI Summit to follow.
I do think a big announcement will come out of it.
Maybe a BRI Bank or something to do with BRICS since Russia chair now?
I see it as an important meet. More towards 2024-2025 goals.

Trudeau makes unhinged Hitler-worthy speech regarding Ukraine

Mere coincidence? Trudeau is a fraud and has no agency just like Zelensky, he is what his handlers make him out to be, that’s all there is to it. Let’s see, last week, Johnson and Von Der Leyen told us the Allies included Germany and Japan against the Russian Axis who bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Canadian Parliament gave a standing ovation to a 98y/o Waffen SS Nazi for… not much except being a Nazi. And, Trudeau does a Hitler imitation. Oh, to be a fly on the wall watching Trudeau and his handlers rehearsing that!
The first chapter of the revisionism of WW2 and Nazism is being written before our eyes. Make a note of it, it’s morbid but it’s fascinating.

⚡️ Report about an Ukrainian attack on the Khalino airfield in Kursk
They say the drone was downed but the warhead detonated during it’s inspection causing casualties
From Rybar:
After attempts to attack the Khalino airfield in the Kursk region, we had deaths there. One of the fallen drones turned out to have a “surprise”.
Previously, the enemy had already used such tactics in the Kherson direction, where several drones shot down and landed with the help of electronic warfare were blown up after detection.
They were also exposed to various chemicals that affected the respiratory tract. Therefore, downed enemy drones must be handled with care and this practice must be taken into account.

Arch Bungle @ 2:
Ursula von der Lying is descended on her mother’s side from the Ladson family of South Carolina.

The Ladson family is an American family of English descent that belonged to the planter and merchant elite of Charleston, South Carolina from the late 17th century. The family [was] among the first handful of European settlers of the English colony of Carolina in the 1670s, where the family quickly became part of the American gentry … The [Ladsons] were large plantation owners and wealthy merchants in Charleston, and owned hundreds of slaves until slavery was abolished in 1865. James Ladson served in the American Revolutionary War and became lieutenant-governor of South Carolina, while his son James H. Ladson was part of the Charleston oligarchy that was influential in launching the American Civil War. The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who lived under the name Rose Ladson in her 20s, is a descendant of the family through her American great-grandmother …

Ursula von der Lying lived under the name Rose Ladson in the late 1970s while studying in the UK. At the time, there was a risk that she, like many other young people from rich families in Germany, would be kidnapped by the Baader-Meinhof gang and held hostage so she had to leave Germany for her own safety under a different name. Why she chose Ladson as her surname, when the Ladsons were synonymous with the Confederate plantation elites, I do not know – one might have assumed she would have chosen her alias a bit more carefully to avoid potential embarrassment.
Our Uschi also lived in the United States during the 1990s as a stay-at-home wife and mother while her husband was teaching at Stanford University.

Protest vote seems to be all that’s left if one isn’t a member of the tiny few who have political party memberships and they have them to be part of an organization that operates with cronyism as it’s main attraction . Pork barrelling is another appropriate term.
Sadly, these characteristics are not exclusive to the West, but perhaps more caustic to those who have to listen to their clap trap given their ever phoney posturing as holier than all the other skimmers, scammers and reprehensible reprobates.
Ukraine isn’t the only place where graft is rampant, but it appears to be a cultural heritage there, thus making it an attractive destination for Western and other interests.
As the wise old manipulator would say..”Wuts your price?”

They mention deaths but not how many. Strange how Russia reports numbers of Ukrainians killed in strikes from afar, but has no number for local victims.

Military Summary report quoted the situation in Kleschevka.
AFU has the ability to deploy more stuff inside Kleschevka, but they do not have the possibility to leave. It’s a large fire pocket that keeps sucking stuff in. The whole village, as is the norm, is obliterated of usable buildings.

Trubind1 @ 122

Your post was a lot to think about. As for Ukraine, I don’t see China wading in at all, or anymore than they have. They certainly aren’t going to go so far as a “peace guarantor” or sign anything.

It’s not up to Russia and/or China, it’s up to the USA how it joins the multipolar world, whether it loses gracefully or has to be crushed into surrender. Pretty much the pattern of all wars, except for the hybrid part where China and Russia are doing everything possible setting conditions for the USA to lose gracefully and not lay vast waste all around.
CitizenSmith is correct, it started Russia v. NATO but it will end Russia-China v. USA.

It’s hardly a “big offensive” to finish out Zaphoryza & Khearson, while holding defensive on rest of line.
And the preparations are done. Everything is ready, the reserves are ready, The drone swarms are ready, and the line is weak enough.
Hey they may not do a thing, but I’m guessing they’ll begin, they aren’t just going to sit there another 6 months while Ukraine resupplies and configures another army.

Someone remarked that Down South’s post were mostly negative, and I noticed that too. But I think they are reality because fact is that Russian forces haven’t made much real progress, especially in the Donbass area. Russian military is not sufficiently supporting the forces in Donbass with weapons and other supplies.

I guess the Berlin Wall was also to protect East German citizens from the evils of higher-standards of living and personal freedom.

The West, including Churchill had been plotting against the USSR even before the Soviets liberated / conquered much of German territory. The Soviets suffered tremendous infrastructure damage and the loss of 24 million or so of it’s population.
The US waited to enter the war until there was indication that the Nazi’s could be beaten and ‘further’ profits could be had. America lost something like 450,000 dead in WW2, and no significant structural damage.
Your point was?

US entered when the Soviets started having success and overtaking large parts of Europe. It worried that Soviets would take over all of Europe. That’s why it entered the war – to go against Soviets mainly. They didn’t fight the war to protect the Jews and others being killed by the Nazis – U.S. had years to enter if it was truly worried about that.
And Pearl Harbor was deliberately sacrificed to give U.S. an excuse to fight Japan. It must have really wanted military bases there, because, after 78 years, it is still occupying Japan.

Apparently Ukraine is shifting around its base of operations for its remaining 5 Su-24 bombers. So one day they might be there, the next day they might be somewhere else. It makes no sense to bomb empty concrete, but maybe they finally found out where the temporary base was set up and managed to hit it?
Most likely the missiles are in short supply, in addition to the carriers. Concrete runways are not in short supply.

🇷🇸There’s been a bloody incident which is ongoing in Kosovo
Rybar’s take on it
What is happening in Kosovo and Metohija?
Situation by 20.00 September 24, 2023
See below 👇👇
On the night of September 24, a new provocation was committed in Kosovo and Metohija. In the village of Banska, a shootout took place between Kosovo security forces and unknown persons.
The Albanian side claims that as a result one policeman was killed and two more were injured. The shooting began after an attempt to stop two trucks without license plates, which allegedly entered the region despite the ban on the import of Serbian products.
▪️Since the morning of September 24, the north of Kosovo and Metohija has been occupied by “police” and “special forces” – they block roads, inspect Serbian cars and refuse to let ambulances through. Banska is surrounded on all sides.
▪️A particularly difficult situation developed in the Banska monastery, into whose territory “Kosovo special forces” broke into. There is a group of 30 pilgrims from Novi Sad in the monastery. They all locked themselves in the temple grounds. Shots can be heard all day.
In Kosovo Mitrovica and Zvecan “police” patrols have also been strengthened , who inspect all Serbian cars.
“Kosovo Prime Minister” Kurti claims that about 30 “armed Serbs from paramilitary formations” were dispersed in the monastery and surrounding houses. And the president of the self-proclaimed republic claims that “armed people in armored vehicles penetrated 15 km deep into the region.”
▪️Despite the fact that the shooting has continued since the night, there are no supporting photo/video materials. Therefore, the Albanian side presents blurry photographs as evidence and claims that the armed people communicate in Serbian and Russian languages.
▪️The US Embassy, the German Ambassador, the OSCE, immediately took the side of the Albanians
EU Special Representative Lajcak, who, according to unofficial information, flew to Kosovo, as well as a British MP and an Albanian lobbyist Alicia Kerns.
🔻Such consolidation only means that the United States and the EU gave Pristina the “green light” for ethnic cleansing and the use of force. It is to be expected that the West will try to stir up as many conflicts as possible before the elections in the US and EU – and Kosovo, unfortunately, is one of them.
At the moment, there is information about three Serbs killed, five more were detained. The operation continues: “special forces” storm the Banjska monastery and search the houses of the Serbs. There is no data on increasing the readiness of the Serbian Armed Forces.
At 21.00 the President of Serbia will make an emergency address to the nation.

About von der Lying’s statement on Hiroshima:
It’s part of the deliberate  rewriting of history.
In 50 years, it’ll be Russia that bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, that sank the Lusitania, shot John F Kennedy, did 11/9, and created the iceberg that sank the Titanic too*.
(*Some Westernaganda already said Captain Smith of the Titanic had Russian  ancestry and left the rest up to the reader to draw the conclusions.)
