The KIA to WIA ratio increases drastically when the casualties are happening so fast that they overwhelm the ability of medics to render immediate life saving treatment.
For example, 3000 American casualties at Omaha translated into 1700 dead .. men were being hit so fast it overwhelmed the medics. Also, many soldiers were hit while wading in surf and so they drowned. This happened at Tarawa, where 3000 US Marine casualties translated into 1000 dead. The normal ratio at start of WW2 was 1 to 4, which improved to 1 to 5 (for Americans)
So, if Ukrainians are hit in the the middle of minefields and cant get help, they’ll die. I they are in a Bradley that gets burned up, most of the men inside will die. So these ratios might not be so outrageous after all.

The exercise did what Turkey, Iran & Russia wanted it to do.
Cause the population to rise up, even camping now, calling for Pashinyan’s resignation. He only had a 17% approval rating b4 this. He starts screaming “coup” when the population rages, but really did himself in calling for “US Help”… he’s another flaming US/EU stooge idiot. All Azerbaijani has to do is pin prick now & then. None of them want US there, so they’ll be hand in hand working it together to remove him.
I also thought timing clever, as Biden meets with the other 5 “stan’s”… as they look on that & think: “That could be me and my populas calling for my ouster after this meeting…”
All well done really…

Vladimir Zhirinovsky in 1999 at the Council of Europe:

This is a must see. It is scary how correct he was.
One of the quotes: “I must say in advance that the war will be on the territory of Ukraine for the Crimea. In the Caucasus, the West will support the Armenians against Baku (Azerbaijan) and support Tbilisi (Georgia) against Abkhazia.”

Interior Minister Nancy Faeser, of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), has stated her party’s intention to massively expand voting rights for foreigners. This includes a plan for refugees who have lived in Germany for more than six months to be allowed to vote, according to the German daily BILD.

Sorry but that’s fake news. It’d be 6 years (not 6 Months) and then only for the municipal elections. The constitution would have to be changed too so that’s a non-starter anyway…

The Russians have their geranium drone which has a range from 970km up till 2500km, apparently. They have used them at distances over 1000km before. But these drones are only good for hitting fixed targets, so they are sent off with a specific stationary infrastructure target in mind. The lancets are operator controlled or pattern recognition controlled (tank, ifv, etc) on search and destroy ops or both, but their range is limited. However there is nothing preventing the Russians from adapting the geraniums from accepting fixed target co-ords whilst in flight, or having the pattern recognition option implemented, or having a cluster munitions payload, or those munitions spreading conducting wires over powerlines which short out everything. Even operator controlled geranium drones would work because the Ukies don’t have the technology to block satellite comms across the whole of Ukraine.
So the only thing stopping Russia from drone-ing the entire territory of Ukraine senseless is the strategy which Russia is employing in Ukraine. They want the Ukies to travel across the whole territory of Ukraine to get bombed once within like 50km of the front lines. Its the Russian strategy, its their business, they want to expose the West as being nothing but a paper tiger more than they want to end this war or kill the Ukies. Massive drone operations certainly doesn’t involve lots of Russian casualties.

The Geraniums are often made to take very wide and loopy detours on the way to target. The purpose is to deplete and/or expose air defense systems.
When Surovikin was in charge last Fall, he organized the attacks in a way where they were always in position to quickly hit valuable and exposed long range air defense systems. There probably aren’t that many, and Ukraine actually used up a lot of their long range A/D during the course of the summer offensive by deploying them closer to the front.
Recently, Ukraine has gotten some hits of their own, especially in Crimea and Kherson region of A/D systems. But this will most likely be limited as a temporary success and Russians will fix it gradually.
Russia also managed to hit several of AFU remaining missile carrying aircraft over last days, putting significant dents on AFU ability to lob Storm Shadow or SCALPs.

Judging by all the attention given to this blog, it appears most seem to think that b is doing a fine job.
But if you feel so strongly, perhaps it might be time for a change in your browser favorites.
In other words, be a Debbie Downer elsewhere.

Ukraine’s change in tactics from heavy armour assaults to infantry on foot is probably due to the fact that the donated armour was being manned by sheep dipped NATO forces who have now realised that the Russians can and will destroy their tanks and APCs, along with their occupants.
The UK was obviously not willing to put Challenger tanks in the hands of Ukrainians who had received no useful training whatever.
In addition to that, being forced to participate in Nazi atrocities is having a serious effect on the mental health of the Western military fighting in Ukraine.
It should be politicians who suffer from their warmongering, not the poor bloody infantry.

Just my humble opinion.
First the Russians will clean up the battle field to the starting lines in the south to get the relics and possible technology, furthermore, sooner than later. Clean up is also training and battlefield analysis. By the end of February, Donetsk and Lugansk will be full Russian.. as said by Russian MoD. The summer campaign will be to the Dnieper with the grand crescendo, being the shelling of major cities on that river, Kiev included.
-Influence the USA general Elections-..

Enough chutzpah and bombast to go around, just between the two of them. So, they will not perform through shipping of Western weapons, in effect putting a hold on them?
Why did they accept the shipments coming in if they can put on embargo on them after arrival? Poland just another banana republic? We certainly would expect the US to be able to pull that one off with a straight face.

sheep dipped NATO forces accepting stupid orders to self destruct?
Posted by: CitizenSmith | Sep 20 2023 20:09 utc | 112

Could be. It all depends on who is in charge of what passes for maneuver warfare in Ukraine. The tank drivers follow orders.
I take my reading from the epistles according to Big Serge when it comes to maneuver tank warfare. He beats all hands I have ever read.
Big Serge thinks that the Command (as we say in the US) might not be up to snuff. Having said that and a different vein, Z certainly is a sniffer.

According to Military summary, the drama with Poland may also be a show to hide the poor results of the aid meetings in Ramstein, namely, Ukraine has got commitments on merely 45 tanks (30 Leopard 1 tanks and 15 T-72 tanks purchased by Denmark) and some Norwegian AFVs.
It’s most likely Ukraine is on track to receive less stuff from US in 2024 than they receive this year. Also, some investigation of MSM talking points reveal that EU economies are seriously going into the shredder now, and everyone needs to spend huge amounts of money to order new weapons from the US.
These weapons order by EU/Nato states will be competing with needs of Ukraine, and US isn’t able to deliver anything very fast. So the chance Ukraine will hit something larger than a dip for deliveries is substantial. Of course, this will also be detrimental to the “long war” narrative by talking heads in US and Nato. Mercouris has talked about this long war narrative many times and thinks Ukraine simply won’t hold in shape to deliver a very long war, at all.

I understand the Down South TG posts here have been useful to some, but they have been overdone. Just keep the volume moderate and there should be no problem. If you begin to dominate a thread it is time to get your own blog.

Yes, moderate is the key. b has his point.
When I travel in China, like right now, and not using VPNs, literally Down South’s curated summaries are my only way to follow current TG info. So I really appreciate MoB and DS ‘s information updates.

Irrelevant buddy, he believes the tax payer money myth. So you can take anything he says With a pinch of salt. My rule is don’t cherry pick a liars statements. He is ideologically driven and wants to lead you down a garden path.
The hook is he rubs your confirmation bias so he has your attention. Then leads you into a world of fiction after that.

He doesn’t understand money so everything after that will be wrong. Really, really and I mean really wrong.

It takes more than one complaint to be a “downer”. The downers on the website are the guys who consistently complain about anyone that challenges the notion that things are going very well for Russia or points out things than went or are going unfavorably for Russia. But people seem to like their complaints as they are never called downers. They are apparently viewed as helpful censors.

Nope. Nothing on Telegram. You must be getting your news from Elensky.

There are posts on TG, most just regurgitating Rybar easier to just check that. The fact that there is so little info is worrisome though supposedly all is going well, of course RF is shooting everything down, we will know in the morning. All this stuff is trials from NATO, ever bigger, the escalation escalator. The big strikes are yet to come once they find the soft spots. I assume RF knows that.
Judging by the intensity of air defense work in different parts of Crimea, including Yevpatoria, Sevastopol, Novofedorovka, Ukrainian formations are conducting one of the mass drone raids. Units of the 31st Air Force and Air Defense Division, together with the Black Sea Fleet, repulse the attack.
Previously, Russian air defense units in the west and center of Crimea, as well as in Sevastopol, worked “excellently”. No hits were recorded, all targets were successfully destroyed. However, there is information about a possible second wave of drones, apparently from the Kherson and Dnepropetrovsk regions.
Colleagues from the Triangle report another wave of drones approaching Dzhankoy. Air defense also worked west of Sevastopol, and several more targets are approaching the western regions of Crimea.
The drone attack carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces is similar to an attempt to overload the peninsula’s air defense with a large number of drones. If the assumptions turn out to be correct, then this will be one of the most massive raids of all time. Moreover, after an attack by a UAV, attempts to strike with other weapons, including cruise missiles, are quite possible. And the drone raid is preparation for it.
Over the last 15 minutes, seven drones were shot down over Yevpatoriya, Mikhailovka and Ivanovka by Pantsir-S1 air defense missile systems and rifle detachments. Judging by the geography of the raids, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to hit the airfield near Novofedorovka. At least three more UAVs were destroyed by units of the 31st Air Force and Air Defense Division near Sevastopol.

According to the UK Daily Express, Russian troops “have only shovels to fight with” as “they have run out of weapons.”
They are being “slaughtered” as they have run out of ammunition. “Three Russian brigades” were wiped out in the fight for Andriivka. The artillery has run out of shells.
All this has been confirmed by wholly reliable and objective CIA funded media like Radio Liberty, and Kagan’s Institute for the Study of War.
Putin is at his wit’s end, and can’t decide whether to throw himself under a bus or flee to North Korea in his private jet. Zelensky is about to ride into Moscow un triumph on his white horse at the head of his million man army, with the Ghost of Kiev and the Heroes of Snake Island in the van. Complete victory is at hand.
