Serious request for a deeper explanation.
There are mutterings here and elsewhere about weakening Ukrainian civilian support for Kiev. I’ve seen polls saying Z’s popularity is now down to only 50%.
But,
– given that the country is still under matial law;
– given that the US ***would not like*** a popular uprising not of its own management;
– given that Russia would surreptitiously support the hell out of an uprising against Kiev;
– given that such an uprising might thwart Poland’s greedy aims;
– given that such an uprising might cause guns against guns in the streets;
… how the hell could the Ukrainian people ever get back control of their own country, even if support for Zelensky waned to 0%? I suspect the US would “negotiate for peace” before it could actually happen.
Thus the only chance is a total Russian win and capitulation by Kiev and Washington. In other words, it will be Moscow who liberates all of Ukraine ***politically***, ironically through their military defeat.

Their chaotic aftermath (and the operational sideshow in Bakhmut) also provided a priceless opportunity to entrench in relative calm over a period of months. This is a basic military principle from Clausewitz – be as strong as possible on the decisive point. Holding Kherson City and Izyum – or even Nikolaev and Kramatorsk – would be profoundly irrelevant if the Ukrainians had been allowed to cut the Zaporozhe Corridor. Absent enough troops to overrun eastern Ukraine in 2022 and foreclose a Ukrainian counteroffensive, retrenchment was ultimately the correct decision – and has largely been proven as such – regardless of any short term damage to Russian prestige.
When this battle is over, the Russians will have the means with which to win the war.

But,
1. Considering 20 to 25% of the pre 2014 Ukraine citizens have fled the country (to Russia or the EU), or now live in the four Oblast that voted to join the RF.
2. And considering that the Nazi government has been committing genocide by press-ganging Russian speaking men from the Eastern areas of Ukraine still under the control of Kiev, to the front lines to die.
3. And, considering that no reasonable honest poll could ever be conducted in Ukraine during this US proxy war with Ukraine because who the fuck is going to talk to a Western of Ukraine pollster about how they hate Zelensky and his slimy Nazi comrades under the present war conditions.

Trees grown in contained biodomes grow bent or deformed; lacking wind to resist they are too weak to stand tall and straight.
Strong vibrant societies resist the unvirtuous parasites whose presence, as you say, is inevitable. But it is the weakness of the host which allows any parasite to prevail for the host is always the majority, the core culture.
Societies, like microbiomes, comprise both beneficial and pathogenic cultures, usually with an 80/20 ratio. Their underlying nature changes only very slowly, if at all, but the surface is never still, the present never fully understood, the future unknown. Organisms require a core gestalt and life force which for societies are orthodox, bedrock traditions connecting with timeless values, including sacred rituals, lest they become overwhelmed by surface change and devoured by parasites from within.
Right now they are in the ascendant and either the host will collapse, as you say, or find a way to starve or purge out that parasite. This can be effected indirectly: by the population simply restoring its own core 80/20 vigor, thus recovering natural immunity. Ideology-driven class struggle won’t achieve this, merely replacing one tyranny with another. Something wiser must be found.

The poor souls that crew the Leopard 1A5 tanks just delivered. They certainly wouldnt be volunteers knowing the retro armour wont probably even see a Russian before being incinerated. Welded shut hatches might be making a comeback

⚡️ There are reports that in Krivoy Rog law enforcers and the AFU command were holding a meeting in one of the buildings of the 404 Ministry of Internal Affairs. There is also data that at that very moment a Russian missile flew there and destroyed the building with Nazis. Two simple conclusions can be drawn from what happened – that the militants and mercenaries are tired of restaurants, and that it is not typical for Russian missiles to miss.
⚔️ Situation on the Fronts over the past Day
🔹#Svatovo – #Kremennaya Direction:
▪️ The Russian army continues to occupy AFU positions near #Sinkovka and #Petropavlovka. On the #Karmazinovka ledge, ours have advanced in the area of #Novoyegorovka.
🔹#Bakhmut (#Artyomovsk) Direction:
▪️ Russian fighters counterattacked in the area of Orekhovo-Vasilyevka.
▪️ The AFU managed to advance within #Kleshcheyevka⚠️, but the fighting continues for the village.
▪️ The militants are also trying to break through our positions at #Andreyevka.
🔹#Zaporozhye Direction:
▪️ In the #Orekhov section without serious changes. #Pyatikhatki, and #Rabotino are in the grey zone. Russian artillery stops all attempts of militants to take the villages.
▪️ The AFU also unsuccessfully attacked near #Verbovoye.
▪️ On the #Vremyevka ledge, the enemy is hammering on the #Novodonetskoye – #Novomayorskoye line. In addition, our fighters counterattacked the enemy’s positions near #Priyutnoye.
💥 The Russian Army does not stop zeroing 404 infrastructure in #Odessa region. Also ours worked on military facilities in #Zaporozhye, where light problems were also reported.
