A bit more on France/the French… Macron posted a video finally covering the G20 and his trip to Bangladesh. Notably, in the G20 bit, he used the “L” word (I’ve been waiting to here someone say it), Lebanon. Footage of Erdogan insisting that he come to Turkiye to discuss Libya. Macron says he will, claps him on the shoulder and says, “take care”. In English, that section. Interesting to watch. No Trudeau meet & greet.

Bruised Northerner@151….just goes to show, even aliens need lights to see in the dark…..or more plausible, as electromagnetic fields are extremely excited during earth quakes, I’ll put money on it being electrical ball lightening of some form…or…… Aliens:)

Some say the diaspora are often more nationalistic than the folks back home, Prolly true.
A strong motherland can invokes certain pride in the wandering souls, hardly a Chinese trademark.
But for oversea Chinese, there’s a very practical reason to yearn for a strong China.
The day when China can despatch an aircraft carrier to any part of the planet in short notice like USAss, pogroms and genocides against Chinese minorities would be a thing of the past.
The case of Solomon island…
Honiara, capital of the Solomon Islands, which has had the temerity to act as the independent nation that she is. When Honiara cut ties with Taiwan and switched allegiance to Beijing in November 2021, the CIA’s agents torched much of Chinatown, prompting Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare to request help from Australia under the 2017 bilateral security treaty Honiara signed with Canberra. When that help was not forthcoming, Beijing stepped up to the plate.
China’s determination to protect all Solomon Islanders is important on a number of fronts. Beijing’s current pro-activism is in stark contrast to earlier Sinophobic rapes and murders in Indonesia by Australian backed extremists, which went unanswered. China is signalling that those days are now gone.

That unfortunately some humans are driven by greed, megalomania and lust for power and control…..atypical pissing contests, from school yard bully’s to unstable heads of state who control huge killing machines…..
Setting aside all the history, made up or real, of who and what Jesus may or may not have been…..the most important thing attributed to him and it works regardless of one’s chosen path, when asked, “what are the most important commandments,” (there are twelve, one could pick and choose any number), he said, “believe in one God,” and to “treat they neighbor, as you wish to be treated.”
It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
