Love is in the air, everywhere I look around
Love is in the air, every sight and every sound
And I don't know if I'm being foolish
Don't know if I'm being wise
But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when I look in your eyes

Again:

Very straight forward, no mincing of words or descriptions as Putin makes it very clear what's occurring and why. He makes the very important distinction that Russia's fight isn't with “the vast majority of people on the planet”; rather, it's with " Western globalist elites [who] still insist on their exclusivity [and in pursuit of their “ideology of superiority (that) is inherently disgusting, criminal and deadly”], pit people against each other and split societies, provoke bloody conflicts and coups, sow hatred, Russophobia, aggressive nationalism, and destroy family and traditional values that make a person a person. And all this in order to continue to dictate, impose on the peoples their will, their rights, rules, and in fact, a system of plunder, violence and suppression.” They are behind the forces of “international terrorism” that has brought “civilization … once again [to] a crucial turning point.” Putin goes on to declare, “I am convinced that the experience of solidarity and partnership in the years of fighting a common threat is our invaluable legacy. It is a solid foundation right now, when the irreversible movement towards a more just multipolar world based on the principles of trust and indivisible security, equal opportunities for the distinctive and free development of all countries and peoples is gaining momentum.”

The battle to eliminate extremist ideologies from the world wasn't won in 1945 and continues today. The world by now ought to know where its epicenter's located as it goes about the complex process of quarantining it as best it can. However, the bad seed continues to expand within its nest as explained here, "'Tyranny' of anti-China state bills makes it even hard to reverse China-US ties".

Denis Kucinich on Ukraine:

"...Get ready for a parceling out of some of the manufactured hate that has been reserved for Russia and President Putin — to hate China and President Xi, and to suffer a fully-machinated Red Peril.

"One need only to look at the “Down Under” Australian press’ frightful China fear-mongering to know what we in the ‘Up Above’ can expect. This has been well chronicled by Caitlin Johnstone, whose Substack posts are a must read.

"The Biden Administration, having unsuccessfully diminished the Russian economy with its broad sanctions, and having failed to defeat the Russian military, will soon lead us to believe that the same geniuses in Washington, London and Belgium who brought us the war in Ukraine, will somehow succeed in holding in check China, or perhaps even toppling President Xi, through military means.

"The depraved thinking that resulted in approximately $140 billion wasted for the war in Ukraine and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian and Russian soldiers, countenances even greater opportunities in the East.

"Witness: The U.S. has brought Australia, South Korea, Japan into an alliance against China and is pressuring the Philippines and Indonesia to join in as we ship arms to Taiwan. The intent is to bait China, to try to make Taiwan the next Ukraine, while coordinating submarine patrols amidst risible plans to send ships from the EU to patrol the Straits of Taiwan. If China did something similar in our sphere, Congress would declare war..."

NATO and Ukraine are hesitant to begin the counteroffensive.

They're aware Russia has atleast 2 times as many soldiers it had on the day of invasion.

Fortifications were built, especially in critical Southern direction.

Since Kharkov and Kherson retreats Russia began to use Lancet and Shahed drones with great success. Also upgraded glide bombs to strike Ukrainian positions from a more or less safe distance.

NATO generals in charge are fully aware, knowing this will be nothing like Kharkov.

Russia is already striking Ukrainian equipment, manpower and fuel all around the possible points of Ukrainian attacks whether in Donbass or in the South. Possibly trying to force Ukraine to act and attack sooner than they would prefer to.

A suicidal rush head first into Russia's defenses getting bombed by air strikes and drones in empty fields is certainly not what Ukraine needs when the the country is already under pressure by Biden admin and European leaders to deliver big results before October.

Tragically the propaganda in the UK has so gripped the population, that they hate President Putin and Russia. Any explanation is wasted breath, I gave up.

I was at a "do" recently wearing a 'Putin answers the question' T shirt, emblazoned with his picture under my jumper, talking to various military types, who believe "it's about to kick off", whatever that means. The T shirt wasn't revealed, but it quietly amused me!

Keep up the splendid postings.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 The new attacks on Ukraine have a lot of features that were not there before.

Apparently, the main task of the Aerospace Forces is to prevent the Armed Forces of Ukraine from accumulating enough forces for an offensive, to create an acute shortage of everything everywhere.

In the current conditions, reinforcements (and the entire infrastructure around them in the rear areas) are of particular value to the Armed Forces of Ukraine: it is almost impossible to quickly restore stocks of equipment, weapons and people under conditions of heavy dependence on weapons imports.

This year no tanks on the Victory Day Parade, no aircraft either. But YARS and S400. And beautiful choreography of the troops. Now what message does this give? That the tanks and planes are on the frontline, waiting for NATO attacks. That Russia is ready for a nuclear strike, if needed, and can (try to) eliminate incoming nuclear missiles (better than any other country can). It's rather ominous. Things keep escalating. The UK is thinking of sending long-range missiles, the idiots. This cannot end well for Europe (or the USA).

As bad as it sounds, the best scenario for Russia would probably be if Ukraine attacks in one place (like Zap region). They will inevitably take so many losses that Nato is probably unable to recover or rebuild any sort of offensive this year, or perhaps even next year.

After Nato attacks, Russia can start poking small holes all over the front. This is what I expected to happen over the winter (when everyone was hypeing the great winter offensive) but it didn't happen. But by poking everywhere, dropping bombs on fuel and ammo depots and groupings all over the map, and making limited attacks in the north, south, east, then south again, east again, north, etc. They can stretch the already hugely strained logistical and manpower chain of Ukraine. Then gaps and cracks will begin to form pretty much everywhere.

Posted by: unimperator | May 9 2023 18:27 utc | 24

UKRAINIAN OFFENSIVE: There is a lot of anticipation by the West that whenever the Ukrainian offensive is launched that it will be successful.

However, what if that just is not the case. What happens if that offensive is quickly mopped up by the Russians?

It does look like that the Russians are attempting to weaken that coming offensive via missile strikes and other as much as possible. So, from a Russian action perspective, this gives credibility to the Ukrainian offensive being in play.

I would give at least 51/49 odds that the coming "Great" Ukrainian offensive will at first look to be eating again into the Russian held territory only to quickly be mopped up by the Russians.

Meanwhile, Russia will take the little of what is left of Bahkmut (less than 5%) and will prepare its own offensive in the Donbas.

It is of interest that it looks like the Ukrainian offensive is being prepared further south of the Donbas while Russia is mainly concentrated on taking the Donbas.

Perhaps the AFU (Army Forces of Ukraine) plans to pull a lot of resources from their Donbas front to strengthen their more southern Zaporizhzhia or Kherson offensive. Perhaps this will significantly weaken the Ukrainian troops in the Donbas allowing the Russians to successfully mobilize their offensive there.

Well, it does look that we will soon see what is about to happen with Ukraine's Great Offensive and where the Russians will go next after Bahkmut.

From Yevgenij:

On the flanks, the enemy took counterattacking actions, as a result of which, according to Yevgeny Prigozhin, units of the 72nd Brigade of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation left their positions to the southwest of the city.

Donbass Devushka:
Just a quick note to the above

There is no 72nd Brigade in the Russian Armed Forces order of battle. Something to keep in mind.

Of course it will be a success. The glorious UAF will advance several if not 10s of Km into a prepared fire trap. They may need to withdraw in the short term to "re-group" but rest assured, they will have dealt a death blow to the Russian invader. UAF losses will be marginal, RF losses immense.

Or so I expect to read in the western MSM and hear on the "news".

From UK and nato perspective "why not?" works. There's no danger for them, low costs. Can send anything they want. They see Russia doesn't even apply sanctions, won't liberate anytime soon the new regions, nato has time to build factories to build the weapons to send to Ukr. China doesn't recognize the new regions as Russian, so no one big will bother them. Maybe after they lose Taiwan they'll change their opinions.
When that ship entered Crimea waters, about 2 years ago, Russia didn't sink it, didn't stop it, did nothing. Much too scared. they shot a little gun at the sky after the ship was gone. Now they collect the awards for that and other events like that one. As elections in Russia get closer, so will attacks increase, high level targets, long range missiles, nato planes, a lot more terrorism.

Agreed, right now it looks like RF is leaving supply routes open while hitting any juicy concentrations of men & materiel that pop up. Even taking out a good proportion of the fuel dumps would make any sensible command delay the offensive until supplies were restored ... it’s a counteroffensive “grinder” =)

Since the end of the Cold War the secret agenda of france and Germany has been to bring Russia into some form of special relationship with the eu and Europe. For both energy security and military muscle.
Many politicians talked of the rehabilitation of the former Soviet Union into the family of European nations.

Using the same guidelines as the old coal and steel pact that heralded the formation of today’s EU. Instead of coal and steel read oil and gas.
The former Soviet Union could not only be rehabilitated with Western Europe (the eu) it could be integrated.
To do this and make it acceptable to the Russians they have to untangle from the USA and nato, hence the Germans never paying their way and the french referring to nato as brain dead. Hence the desire for an eu defence force minus the USA, UK and Canada.

This would then be something that Russia possibly could/ would accept.
France and Germany have tried to show good intention to Russia by becoming reliant on Russia for energy linking in pipe networks to Europe in the hope that Russia will also see its economic reliance upon the eu. Building infrastructure physically and creating a situation of mutual benefit that leads to seeking other closer ties.

This would then give this greater europe energy security and military might. Without it the eu in its current format is irrelevant.
Unfortunately Russia is not playing ball.

Now the eastern eu member states are waking up to this realisation that the EU’s big long term game plan involves Russia. The plan has fallen flat on its face but there is a reluctance within Germany and France to accept this, hence their hesitation in overtly or meaningfully helping Ukraine.
The eu has no where to go

Let's not forget that today is the anniversary of the Mariupol Massacre, the clear starting point of the war of started by the ukrainian fascist government against the people of the Donbas (and Crimea) to exterminate or ethnically cleanse them out of their own country.

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2014/05/10/ukra-m10.html
«With the open support of Washington and its European allies, the regime installed by Washington and Berlin in last February’s fascist-led putsch is now extending its reign of terror against all popular resistance in Ukraine. That is the significance of the events in the major eastern Ukrainian city of Mariupol yesterday. After tanks, armored personnel carriers and heavily armed troops were unleashed on unarmed civilians in the city, the Kiev regime claimed to have killed some 20 people.

The Obama administration immediately blamed the violent repression on “pro-Russian separatists.” This is the second time in a week that the Obama administration has defended the role of the Kiev government in the murder of anti-government demonstrators, having done so following the Odessa killings (see: “US defends role of Kiev regime and fascists in Odessa massacre”).

The violence bore all the hallmarks of a calculated provocation on the 69th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany by the Soviet Red Army. [...] These admirers of Hitler and his Ukrainian collaborators are now serving, with Washington’s full support, as the regime’s shock troops against popular opposition centered in the industrialized east of the country as well as in Russian-speaking centers such as Odessa in the south.»

https://www.thenation.com/article/archive/least-among-us-war-donbas-terrorizing-ukraines-most-vulnerable-citizens/
«The deep anger toward both Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko (I was told by one young woman, a native of Donetsk, that “this is Poroshenko’s war”) and an equally deep sense of alienation from the Ukrainian state in Kiev are equally unmistakable.

One young mother told us “there is no ‘back’ to Ukraine for Donbas.” If Poroshenko and his cheerleaders in the Obama administration and the US Congress believe that an economic blockade, Kiev’s deployment of snipers, the shelling of Donbas’s civilians and a proposal to send American weapons with which to facilitate the shelling is the recipe for winning eastern Ukrainian “hearts and minds” they couldn’t be more wrong.

Yet, tellingly, this is the strategy Poroshenko himself laid out last November in a speech in which he declared: “Our children will go to schools and kindergartens, theirs will be holed up in the basements. Because they are not able to do a thing. This is exactly how we will win this war!” Well, he may have half the job done. The little children we saw are indeed cowering in filthy conditions in underground Soviet-era bomb shelters.»

«Hence the desire for an eu defence force minus the USA, UK and Canada. [...] This would then give this greater europe energy security and military might.»

That's an illusion: the USA Navy have their knee on the throat of Europe, as they control all sea-routes through which critical, strategic supplies to Europe come, and through which most exports from Europe have to go, and besides the USA is a market that very few european businesses want to give up.

Besides that the USA security services have nurtured huge fifth columns and stay-behind "freedom fighters" in all european countries, to "protect them against communism", and can easily destabilize their governments and trigger color revolutions against their governments if they try to become "unaligned".

Europe will only become independent when the USA Navy no longer can get the funding to control all oceanic choke points, and the USA security service the funding to continue "sponsoring" their fifth columns and their stay-behinders.

We publish a request from the editorial office of the LIVE24 edition and a response: Dear Evgeny Viktorovich, hello. Today, the French National Assembly called on the European Union to add the Wagner PMCs to the list of terrorist organizations. I would like to receive your comment on this.

We publish a comment by Yevgeny Prigozhin:
"What can I say about this. When we came to Central Africa, the French soldiers drove the dogs into the room, and children, 12-year-old girls, were driven there as well. And the dogs raped these girls. French soldiers sold organs, or rather, people were taken to organs and they were gutted there. We saved an entire country called Central Africa, saved tens of thousands of lives from bandits, terrorists, and, most importantly, from the French, who simply mocked them. Macron decided that the Wagner PMC is a terrorist organization, and at this time, in many countries of the world, the Wagner PMC saves a huge number of people from the French and from the Americans. And I save their prisoners, whom they kill themselves.

Some head-up from the skies above Europe for the last 2+ hours or so, on a Victory Day 2023.

Italian Military flies Gulfstream G550 CAEW - Conformal Airborne Early Warning flew along the Romanian coast for more than 8 hours.
This plane's mission is to monitor skies above the Black Sea, with a detection range at around 300 km.

Then almost next to it, we had Boeing P-8A Poseidon that is a sea surface detection and anti-submarine warfare system via deployed sonar buoys, and it is also armed with anti-sub torpedoes.

RQ-4B Global Hawk flies very close to Sochi and very southern tip of eastern Russian coast, pushing its luck on getting gradually closer and closer to Crimea being there for the better part of a day.

Airbus KC2 Voyager as a stratotanker is above Romanian mainland, probably supporting hidden NATO jet fighters escorting and basically enforcing the self-proclaimed no-fly zone and protecting their assets in the sky.

This whole jamboree is really rarely seen, also occurrence of such intense activity.

So NATO, a “not part of this conflict”, is very active and a very nosy there.

Such impunity makes big surprise damage to RF missile strikes, it maps the movement of subs and missile launchers and combat ships, and follows RF's Aerospace forces wherever those patrol and fly above and along the Black Sea.

Poseidon definitely helped to detect and to identify 'Moskva' cruiser a year ago. Also, it helped to rely data to Ukrainian artillery forces to easier target the Snake Island with French Caesar 155 mm Howitzers. Besides, it constantly gives precise coordinates to Ukrainian drones for Crimea and supplies HIMARS targeting triangulation data along the Southern line of conflict.
I am sure it is a first target to go, if it comes to that.

British River Joint is a very cheeky and brazen in its flights.
Not really respecting any given distances and rules. It must be the second to go, and FORTE 11 Global Hawk is a juicy, very annoying target, too.

Btw. above Hull NE England, many Eurofighters flying about, coming and going to the North Sea the bloody whole afternoon.

Do British citizens really need to be kept in a fear and are made obedient by low flying military jets?

Are coastal Romanians complaining about having NATO planes for most of the day above their heads? Do eastern Polish care?
What about the green policies and pollution of sensitive ecosystems?
Where is my cheap muesli made from Ukrainian GMO grains?

Looks like Pentagram jumped in on the MIM-104/kinzhal BS bandwagon. The MIM-104 Patriot has a maximum intercept altitude of 24km and range of 80km. So they are saying the Patriot system, which over the past years and decade has trouble intercepting modified Katyusha rockets hitting oil refineries in Saudi Barbaria could hit Kinzhal, which is bearing down at some target at up to a Mach 10 speed.

Bandera sources report that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have purchased 5,000 diving tugs to be used in landing operations on the Dnieper.

At the moment, the preparations for the assault on the Zaporozhye NPP are in full swing, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trained in Britain and must land at night in the area of the nuclear power plant and the dachas of the dispensary. For this, it is necessary that the Dnieper warms up and it is possible to use different types of equipment for the landing operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine / GUR / SBU. https://t.me/ZandVchannel/63748

Germany’s foreign minister Annalena "we are at war with Russia" Baerbock on Tuesday warned her Chinese counterpart that “neutrality” in the Ukraine war amounted to taking Russia’s side, heaping pressure on Beijing to do more to end the conflict.

Should be interesting when China returns the favour and warns Chancellor Scholz that China expects neutrality from Germany, including cutting ties with America and NATO and another agresdor that deploys war ships or economic sanctions against China.
With all the blustering, the German government seems to forget that without 'Made in China's - products, German retailer's shelves will be rather empty, and without the Chinese Market and Chinese production capacities, German industry will be bankrupt in no time.

Deplorable Commissar@41

The only question being 'begged' here is in the assertion that 'they don't do charity work'. Or, to put it another way, Capitalists always make economically rational decisions.
Hundreds of years of economic history shows otherwise.

It also shows, as Andy@53 suggests, that Capitalist class rule ensures that any losses by oligarchs will be amply compensated by further calls on the working class, which, does do charity. Whether it likes it or not.

Luckily for them, the Capitalists, a tiny minority, almost negligible in demographic terms, can count on the undying support of fascists for whom the wages of strikebreaking make up for the fate they invariably suffer.

From the article on US firms eyeing Ukrainian resources:

The Naftogaz statement did not clarify what these “conditions” were, but a February press release from the IMF made it clear that it includes neoliberal reforms.

The IMF reported that its discussions with Ukrainian authorities “covered the medium-term macroeconomic framework, fiscal policy, the financing mix, financial sector policies, and governance”.

The IMF’s conditions included, “In particular, reform initiatives to enhance productivity and competitiveness of the private sector need to be advanced to help lay the foundation for a robust post-war growth against a backdrop of progress toward EU accession”.

Reforms to “enhance productivity and competitiveness of the private sector” is a euphemistic way of saying that Ukraine must further privatize state-owned industries and sell off public assets.

"Medium-term" is pretty ambiguous.

Perhaps they’ll use these once they’ve landed. https://electrek.co/2020/02/13/us-army-testing-all-terrain-electric-scooter-ezraider-dsraider/

You are right to point out that the USA is the last fanatical adherent to the ideologies of the 20th century. There is an irony in looking back to Fukuyama's declaration that history had ended because liberal democracy—"the ideology-free system!—had prevailed. It was of course the most vociferously ideological system of them all. An even greater irony to discover that the evil empire—Xerxes of '300', Darth Vader, Spectre in 007 films—was you all along.

Everything Putin said in your quote from him is right. The end of the USA's global power must now be regarded as a matter human necessity.

We can bad mouth the IMF all we want, but who are among its members ? Russia, China, India, Brazil, and South Africa.

Does anyone believe they have no say or input in its operations ? If the answer is " yes " then the ZioWest has already won. If they do have input and say, then one must explain the IMF's actions and Why Russia and China agree with them. Cant have it both ways folks. Now read this quote carefully.

" How many members does the IMF have?

As of 2021, the IMF has 190 member nations. Each member nation publicly accepts and supports the goal of global economic stability and, in theory, a subjugation of some sovereign authority to support that goal. The IMF is funded mainly through what are called "quota contributions" from its members. "

Neither am I a big fan of RFK Jr. (but I would vote for him over Biden anyday). But as you know he is running against Biden on two primary grounds (1). He opposes the US war in Ukraine, and he holds the CIA responsible for the assassination of his uncle JFK and his father RFK as well. His poles are rising as much as 20% since his announcement last month and Biden 's is falling as much as 10%.

The media has attacked him for his anti-Vax positions in the past, but he was anti-vax long before Covid-19. I may have my fax wrong here, but I think he had a child die from what he believes was childhood vaccine.

On Cosman, give him a few minutes to get past his normal BS, and then he gets to the direct audio and printed direct quote's and statements.

Prigozhin was at it again, issuing more blistering condemnations of Russian military leadership. It wasn't widely reported on. probably at least in part, because it was Victory Day. Again it's so off the scales that the man has either totally lost it, or there is some basis of truth in what he says. Many will claim this is just either a psy-op or Prigozhin maneuvering for a move into politics. When I read his words...his total freak out...I cannot picture this to be either.

Something is not right in the house of Russia. I lack serious need to know information to draw any kind of conclusions on anything Russia is doing or intends to do or the true condition of their non-elite fighting forces. But I do have my reservations although I still believe Russia will ultimately prevail if the psychopaths who rule the west don't take us over the abyss. Something they are quite capable of doing in my opinion. Just look the list of latest provocations... These people are insane and out of control.

…So they are saying the Patriot system,……could hit Kinzhal, which is bearing down at some target at up to a Mach 10 speed”
I links a Popular Mechanics piece last thread.
They are saying kinzhals don’t fly at mach10, and aren’t “really” hypersonic.
I won’t repost all the extracts, but here’s a few morsels

https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/weapons/a43804177/russias-kinzhal-missile-is-not-hypersonic/
Turns out, Russia’s kinzhal missiles aren’t really hypersonic….

“Kinzhal is nothing more than an air-launched ballistic missile,” Jeffrey Lewis, Ph.D., of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in Monterey, California, tells Popular Mechanics. “It’s only hypersonic in the sense that pretty much all ballistic missiles are hypersonic.”
Sidharth Kaushal, Ph.D., of the U.K.-based defense think tank RUSI is similarly doubtful about the “hypersonic” label. “It doesn’t meet the maneuverability criteria for being a true hypersonic weapon,” he tells Popular Mechanics.

>…The Kinzhal is not hypersonic, does not fly at Mach 10, nor does it have a range of 1,200 miles as Putin claimed.
More importantly, the small numbers deployed will certainly not change the balance of the war, and its main value has been as a weapon of propaganda.

>… Putin’s biggest claim—that Kinzhal would be invulnerable to all current and future anti-missile defenses—is looking shaky.
On May 4, Ukrainian defenders shot down a number of incoming missiles, and wreckage of one of them shared by Ukrainian source Defense Express showed what appear to be sections of a Kinzhal missile.
[]or a sewer pipe. Let’s ask the inimitable Ghost of Kiev for further verification]]
