The MoA Week In Review – (Not Ukraine) OT 2023-59
Last week's post on Moon of Alabama:
> The US’ humiliating exclusion from the centre stage of West Asian politics constitutes a “Suez moment” for the superpower, comparable to the crisis experienced by the UK in 1956, which obliged the British to sense that their imperial project had reached a dead end and the old way of doing things—whipping weaker nations into line as ostensible obligations of global leadership —was no longer going to work and would only lead to disastrous reckoning. <

social customs that strongly discourage hoarding and displays of authority, and encourage economic equality via sharing of food and material goods.[23] Karl Marx defined this socio-economic system as primitive communism.[24]Egalitarianism (from French égal ‘equal’), or equalitarianism,[1][2] is a school of thought within political philosophy that builds on the concept of social equality, prioritizing it for all people.[3] Egalitarian doctrines are generally characterized by the idea that all humans are equal in fundamental worth or moral status.[4] Egalitarianism is the doctrine that all citizens of a state should be accorded exactly equal rights.[5] Egalitarian doctrines have motivated many modern social movements and ideas, including the Enlightenment, feminism, civil rights, and international human rights.[6]
The term egalitarianism has two distinct definitions in modern English,[7] either as a political doctrine that all people should be treated as equals and have the same political, economic, social and civil rights,[8] or as a social philosophy advocating the removal of economic inequalities among people, economic egalitarianism, or the decentralization of power. Sources define egalitarianism as equality reflecting the natural state of humanity.[9][10][11
Anarcho-primitivism is an anarchist critique of civilization (anti-civ) that advocates a return to non-civilized ways of life through deindustrialization, abolition of the division of labor or specialization, and abandonment of large-scale organization and high technology. Anarcho-primitivists critique the origins and progress of the Industrial Revolution and industrial society.[1] According to anarcho-primitivism, the shift from hunter-gatherer to agricultural subsistence during the Neolithic Revolution gave rise to coercion, social alienation, and social stratification.[2][3]
“Many classical anarchists reject the critique of civilization while some such as Wolfi Landstreicher endorse the critique without considering themselves anarcho-primitivists.[4] Anarcho-primitivists are distinguished by the focus on the praxis of achieving a feral state of being through “”rewilding””.[5]”
“Anarchy is the order of the day among hunter-gatherers. Indeed, critics will ask why a small face-to-face group needs a government anyway. […] If this is so we can go further and say that since the egalitarian hunting-gathering society is the oldest type of human society and prevailed for the longest period of time – over thousands of decades – then anarchy must be the oldest and one of the most enduring kinds of polity. Ten thousand years ago everyone was an anarchist.]
Primitivism has drawn heavily upon cultural anthropology and archaeology. From the 1960s forward, societies once viewed as barbaric”” were reevaluated by academics, some of whom now hold that early humans lived in relative peace and prosperity in what has been called the “”original affluent society””. Frank Hole, an early-agriculture specialist, and Kent Flannery, a specialist in Mesoamerican civilization, have noted that, “”No group on earth has more leisure time than hunters and gatherers, who spend it primarily on games, conversation and relaxing.””[13] Based on evidence that life expectancy has decreased with the adoption of agriculture, the anthropologist Mark Nathan Cohen has called for the need to revise the traditional idea that civilization represents progress in human well-being.[14]”
“Scholars such as Karl Polanyi and Marshall Sahlins characterized primitive societies as gift economies with “”goods valued for their utility or beauty rather than cost; commodities exchanged more on the basis of need than of exchange value; distribution to the society at large without regard to labor that members have invested; labor performed without the idea of a wage in return or individual benefit, indeed largely without the notion of ‘work’ at all.””[15]”

Based on several anthropological references, they further state that hunter-gatherer societies are less susceptible to war, violence, and disease.

“Enclosure” refers to the consolidation of land, usually for the stated purpose of making it more productive. The British Enclosure Acts removed the prior rights of local people to rural land they had often used for generations. As compensation, the displaced people were commonly offered alternative land of smaller scope and inferior quality, sometimes with no access to water or wood. The lands seized by the acts were then consolidated into individual and privately owned farms, with large, politically connected farmers receiving the best land. Industrial nations amassed incredible wealth by colonizing regions with natural resources , and ther taking those resources without compensating the natives . Then , the industrial nations sent the finished products back to the colonies , where the colonists had to purchase them because the colonial powers wouldn’t let the colonies trade with anyone else . The European Justification : Superiority Is a Heavy Burden
Even as progressives argued for an end to the slave trade and better working conditions in the facto ries , a huge number of Europeans – not just the industrialists – either supported or acquiesced in the colonization of foreign lands . Most Europeans were very ethnocentric and viewed other cultures as barbarian and uncivilized . Ironically , this ethnocentrism may have driven some of the social advance ments within European society itself – after all , if you think of yourself as ervilized , then you can’t exactly brutalize your own people .
“Two ideas contributed to this mindset . First , social Darwinists applied Charles Darwin’s biological theory of natural selection to sociology . In other words , they claimed that dominant races or classes of people rose to the top through a process of survival of the fittest . “” This meant that because Britain was the most powerful , it was the most fit , and therefore the British were superior to other races”
“Second , many Europeans believed that they were not only superior , but that they had a moral obligation to ( crassly said ) dominate other people or ( politely said ) teach other people how more civilized in other words , how to be more like Europeans . Rudyard Kipling summe 48/7 in his poem “” White Man’s Burden . “” As European nations swallowed up the rest of the wo an effort to advance their economies , military strategic positioning and eges , Kipling characterized these endeavors as a “” burden “” in which it was the duty of Europenes to conquec cach “” half – devil and half child “” so that they could be converted to Christianity and civilized in the European fashion . Justice is peculiarly indispensable to nations. The unjust State is doomed of God to
calamity and ruin. This is the teaching of the Eternal Wisdom and of history.
“Righteousness exalteth a nation; but wrong is a reproach to nations. “”The Throne is”
established by Righteousness. Let the lips of the Ruler pronounce the sentence that is
“Divine; and his mouth do no wrong in judgment !”” The nation that adds province to”
province by fraud and violence, that encroaches on the weak and plunders its wards, and
violates its treaties and the obligation of its contracts, and for the law of honor and fair-
dealing substitutes the exigencies of greed and the base precepts of policy and craft and
the ignoble tenets of expediency, is predestined to destruction; for here, as with the
individual, the consequences of wrong are inevitable and eternal.
A sentence is written against all that is unjust, written by God in the nature of man and in
the nature of the Universe, because it is in the nature of the Infinite God. No wrong is
really successful. The gain of injustice is a loss; its pleasure, suffering. Iniquity often
seems to prosper, but its success is its defeat and shame. If its consequences pass by
the doer, they fall upon and crush his children. It is a philosophical, physical, and moral
truth, in the form of a threat, that God visits the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, to
the third and fourth generation of those who violate His laws. After a long while, the day
of reckoning always comes, to nation as to individual; and always the knave deceives
himself, and proves a failure.
Hypocrisy is the homage that vice and wrong pay to virtue and justice. It is Satan
attempting to clothe himself in the angelic vesture of light. It is equally detestable in
morals, politics, and religion; in the man and in the nation. To do injustice under the
pretence of equity and fairness; to reprove vice in public and commit it in private; to
pretend to charitable opinion and censoriously condemn; to profess the principles of
Masonic beneficence, and close the ear to the wail of distress and the cry of suffering; to
eulogize the intelligence of the people, and plot to deceive and betray them by means of
their ignorance and simplicity; to prate of purity, and peculate; of honor, and basely
abandon a sinking cause; of disinterestedness, and sell one’s vote for place and power,
are hypocrisies as common as they are infamous and disgraceful. To steal the livery of
the Court of God to serve the Devil withal; to pretend to believe in a God of mercy and a
Redeemer of love, and persecute those of a different faith; to devour widows’ houses,
and for a pretence make long prayers; to preach continence, and wallow in lust; to
inculcate humility, and in pride surpass Lucifer; to pay tithe, and omit the weightier
matters of the law, judgment, mercy and faith; to strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel; to
make clean the outside of the cup and platter, keeping them full within of extortion and
excess; to appear outwardly righteous unto men, but within be full of hypocrisy and

It wasn’t until 1920 in the ed States , and 1928 in Britain , however , that the women’s suffrage movement fully succeeded giving women the right to vote .
Despite improvements in the overall standards of living in industrialized nations , by 1900 extreme Iships persisted . In many cases , Europeans dreamed of starting over somewhere else , or escaping ties at home . From T80010 1920,50mmon Ewopeansmigrated to North and South Ameries Mil fled from famine in Ireland , or anti – Semitism in Russia , or poverty and joblessness in general
In Search of Natural Resources Stealing Is Cheaper than Dealing The factories of the Industrial Revolution created useful products , but to do so they required natural resources . Europe had its share of coal and iron ore used to provide power and make equipment for the factories , but raw materials such as cotton and rubber had to be imported because they didn’t grow in the climates of western – Encape .
Industrial nations amassed incredible wealth by colonizing regions with natural resources , and ther taking those resources without compensating the natives . The resources were sent back to Eu rope , where they were made into finished products . Then , the industrial nations sent the finished products back to the colonies , where the colonists had to purchase them because the colonial powers wouldn’t let the colonies trade with anyone else . In short , the colonial powers became rich at the expense of e of the colonies . The more colonies a nation had , the richer it became .
Soon , Europe colonized nations on every other continent in the world . Europe became a clear inghouse for raw materials from around the globe while the rest of the world increasingly became exposed to Europe and European ideas . What’s more , the need for raw materials transformed the landscape of the conquered regions . Limited raw materials depleted faster than at any time in human history . The Industrial Revolution , in addition to creating pollution , began to have an impact on the environment by gobbling natural resources .
Never mind if the non – Europeans didn’t want to be “” civilized . “” The Europeans supposedly knew what was best for everyone”

The great Royalties and Despotisms , without a plea , partition among themselves a Kingdom , dismember Poland , and prepare to wrangle over the dominions of the Crescent . To maintain the balance of power is a plea for the obliteration of States . Carthage , Genoa , and Venice , commercial Cities only , must acquire territory by force or fraud , and become States . Alexander marches to the Indus ; Tamerlane seeks universal empire ; the Saracens conquer Spain and threaten Vienna .
“The thirst for power is never satisfied . It is insatiable . Neither men nor nations ever have power enough . When Rome was the mistress of the world , the Emperors caused themselves to be wor shipped as gods . The Church of Rome chaired despotism over the soul , and over the whole life from the cradle to the grave . It gave and sold absolutions for past and future sins . It claimed to be infallible in matters of faith . It decimated Europe to purge it of heretics . It decimated America to convert the Mexicans and Peruvians . It gave and took away thrones ; and by excommuni cation and interdict closed the gates of Paradise against Nations . Spain , haughty with its dominion over the Indies , endeavored to crush out Protestantism in the Netherlands , while Philip the Second married the Queen of England , and the pair sought to win that kingdom back to its allegiance to the Papal throne . After ward Spain attempted to conquer it with her “” invincible Ar mada . Napoleon set his relatives and captains on thrones , and parcelled among them half of Europe . The Czar rules over an empire more gigantic than Rome . The history of all is or will be the same , -acquisition , dismemberment , ruin . There is a judg ment of God against all that is unjust .”
MORALS AND DOGMA
aling
To seek to subjugate the will of others and take the soul cap tive , because it is the exercise of the highest power , seems to be the highest object of human ambition . It is at the bottom of all pros elyting and propagandism , from that of Mesmer to that of the Church of Rome and the French Republic . That was the aposto late alike of Joshua and of Mahomet . Masonry alone preaches Toleration , the right of man to abide by his own faith , the right
Justice is peculiarly indispensable to nations.
To steal the livery of
the Court of God to serve the Devil withal; to pretend to believe in a God of mercy and a
Redeemer of love, and persecute those of a different faith; to devour widows’ houses,
and for a pretence make long prayers; to preach continence, and wallow in lust; to
inculcate humility, and in pride surpass Lucifer; to pay tithe, and omit the weightier
matters of the law, judgment, mercy and faith; to strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel; to
make clean the outside of the cup and platter, keeping them full within of extortion and
excess; to appear outwardly righteous unto men, but within be full of hypocrisy and
iniquity, is indeed to be like unto whited sepulchres, which appear beautiful outward, but
are within full of bones of the dead and of all uncleanness.
“The Republic cloaks its ambition with the pretence of a desire and duty to “”extend the”
“area of freedom,”” and claims it as its “”manifest destiny”” to annex other Republics or the”
States or Provinces of others to itself, by open violence, or under obsolete, empty, and
fraudulent titles. The Empire founded by a successful soldier, claims its ancient or natural
boundaries, and makes necessity and its safety tlle plea for open robbery. The great
Merchant Nation, gaining foothold in the Orient, finds a continual necessity for extending
its dominion by arms, and subjugates India. The great Royalties and Despotisms, without
