The Burden Of Blogging
Some times it's just like this. I am not feeling well. I am not sick but something is just not right.
I have no idea what to post about. Every theme and issue feels so repetitive. It is the burden of blogging, especially when one tries to post every day.
I need a pause. Likely only for a few days. I will continue to post open threads. I will continue to clean the spam queue and to somewhat police the comments. But over the next few days there will be no new original content here.
I will do something other than reading news, thinking and writing about it. I hope that it will help to clean my mind to then come back with some fresh ideas.

Go spend some time in nature if you can. It always helps me. You are loved and appreciated all over the world! You are a rock star! I have learned so much from you, Sir. And everyone else here.

History repeats itself. That's why it's all so repetitive. I don't believe what philosophers like Hegel assert; I don't think we're destined to progress to any point. I don't think we'll ever have an end of history. Instead, we have to try to steer history into some positive existence, hopefully.
I thought you might post a column on the political upheaval in Israel.

Take a trip b to someplace warm like Sicily, which isn't too far, or Crete and poke about the Minoan ruins. Leave your laptop at home. Even a few days away provides a big energy boost. Whatever you do follow the cliche--Don't Worry; Be Happy!
Hold on to your sanity. Take a vacation to Madeira Island (If your Russia or Belarusian no go) Remember seeing a Belarusian Soccer team play at the Cristiano Ronaldo Soccer stadium in 2014. Of course you can blog from there too. Good food, good wine, really nice people. Beautiful mountain and Sea views. Awesome hikes all around and walking on the Levada trails. There are only about 250 Ukranian refugees living of the government dole. The other 300,000 Madeirans work to keep them comfy.
Hope to see you back. Miss the Saker too.

Readers appreciate you and support your well-deserved break. I think it's easy to fail to take notice that not only are you writing about profound issues that carry significant weight but you are performing exhaustive research in the course of doing so, due in no small part to your thoughtful and meticulous research and parsing of the facts and issues. Last but not least, I posit that these heavy issues weigh on you as much as they emotionally weigh on us; it's a central reason why your writings are incredibly appreciated.
I for one stay "glued to the computer screen" awaiting your next missive.
As a humble suggestion, why don't you invite a guest blogger or writer now and then to fill in for you. I've noticed Larry Johnson at sonar21.com will avail himself of this option now and then ostensibly to give himself a break. Take care and get your rest, we need you whole!

B:
Echoing all the rest of the bar, I'm glad you've sensed the incipient burnout before it became actual burnout.
Any chance you can take Karlof1's advice, and hit the warm climes for a few days? Just riding the train down and back will help, if nothing else.
Walking is hard to beat for mind-in-neutral while body gets some stretch-out, maybe there's a mountain village with a train station....and a trail and a lake you can camp beside.
Wouldn't that be a nice break?

I also think that news are depressing and R & R is necessary to preserve creativity etc. However, for a change of venue, I would recommend a sleepy resort or a trail head that is easily accessible from the place where you live. Air travel etc. can add to stress, expose to infections and so on. Trails with few people (if any), a nice view here and there, spotting signs of spring ... A biergarten with local dishes...

Burn out, I understand, dear b.The ugliness of our present can really demean us to a low state, even we can become ill.
Travel away from your country for a while, no laptop, no smartphone, or if you can not-do the same in Germany.
When I lost my mind about the desperate situ in our world, I plugged everything out and devoted myself to rereading old classics.Painting, cleaning my disorderly home...
I hope you get better, but it is crucial to disconnect for a while from all of the ugliness.
Thank you for everything.

I went through a crisis when this war started as I was redpilled during the first gulf war and everyone around me just ate the propaganda. Fortunately my wife has also taken the red pill but it was tough. Lo and behold I found a bunch of my country men and women here and it helped me maintain my faith in humanity.

Everybody needs a break now and then, you've posted many great threads, take a break and feel the sun on your face, walk in the park that can lift a person mood and make them feel better, and keep away from screens blue screen light (too much of it) is bad for your physical and mental health.

It is a scientific fact that the human body needs 2 days rest out of every 14 days. The scientists that proved this could not bring themselves to say "1 day in 7" because that would imply a sabbath day. But take 1 day in 7 to forget the cares and worries of this world.
Also Malik is correct - delegate some responsibility occasionally.

@ b "It is the burden of blogging, especially when one tries to post every day."
I think the solution lies right there - a change in the weekly format when you get back from needed R&R.
Maybe something on the order of just 2 of your in depth columns, 1 MoA Week in Review, 2 Ukraine Open Threads
(only for as long as needed) and 2 Open Threads. And do it in a 5 day work week. A 4 day week would be better still.
Another thought - This past week the poster S has put up some good info from the Azerbaijan/Armenia/Pakistan/Iran, etc.
arena. I think there has been too much Ukraine focus and some wider ranging topics may free up some creative
thought and fresh energy.
Best!

Take a rest b, and you will be fine.
As for topics for blogging, I can suggest a couple that you have never looked into before. One is that of ev, of which China absolutely dominate. Given the reliance on the auto industry for countries like Japan and Germany, this will have huge geopolitical consequences. The other one will be the upcoming Swift alternative mbridge, Which is already in pretty advanced stage. People usually consider CIPS as China's alternative system, But I think the above mentioned is the real thing。
As we are all aware of, taking down the empire means first and foremost taking down the dollar.

No need to apologise. MoA is a great service to global santity -- albeit, seemingly an impossible task atm. Just keep the pulse going as best as can etc.
Put the whole thing on ice for 2-3 weeks and take a total break away from the cancer.
It is Spring time in your parts. Go smell the flowers.
You are not alone. I also find less interest in the daily grind of processing the same old EU-USA-NATO-Ukraine-Russia-China-Syria-Iran narratives. It seems to be the pause before something big happens. But of course, nothing much may ever emerge--just the same old PR meat grinder at work. Too many vectors in play, imo.
It is just a duck-and-cover moment. Perhaps all the poor deluded souls about to depart in East Ukraine are sucking out the vital oxygen in their last days of vital living.
See you back (hopefully refreshed) in a few weeks.

Rest well, B.
I was going to write a long, sour letter to the "Radio War Nerds" gang, about how they get all the neocon stuff right, except they somehow mess up on Ukraine. And one of their guys was the first to interview Seymour Hersh right after the Nordstream terrorism revelations. He did kind of an awkward, star-struck job of it. I'd really like to encourage the War Nerds to talk to Mercouris, Berletic, guys like that, but I feel they are locked into their "Trump bad" paradigm and it's basically useless trying to break them out of their almost comical propaganda trance.
Does anyone else here listen to Radio War Nerds? Outside of contemporary opinion, they do interesting historic and military dives for a podcast.

Good luck. [email protected] has advice that I agree with.
Posting new stuff everyday is a certain indication of your undoubted determination and integrity but unnecessary. Most of your pieces deserve more than superficial responses. You put much thought into what you do and so should we all.
If I had any advice on what you should do I'd do it myself. I suspect that many of us, including you, are suffering from a deep sense of disappointment as the Twentieth century has given way not to the future but to the darkest past.
The wisdom of Gandhi's famous reply to the effect that "western civilisation" would be a good idea gets more evident as the brutality and vulgarity of the greedy, unprincipled egotists who, without exception, run the NATO countries, which have run the world for half a millenium, is demonstrated every passing day.
The one consolation that we all have is that this farce, of which we are the audience, is really very funny. The trick is to bear in mind that just because nobody else seems to be laughing when the US government denounces other countries for 'unprovoked agression' or, even funnier "terrorism", it doesn't mean that it isn't very funny.
It might mean that everyone is too scared to react, but, more likely, it means that nobody pays attention any more to what Washington's spokesmen (not to forget-perish the thought- women) say.
And one reason why nobody believes them is that people like you, and people like us, are actually in the process of building a movement ready to take the child who has the courage to say aloud that the Emperor is naked and the Empire a crime and put him on our shoulders and put truth on the throne again.
Like the red flag over the Reichstag.
Good luck- the best tonic is the knowledge that you have done a great deal with your life, a great deal of good. What more could anyone want?

something other than reading news, thinking and writing about it...
Should be a daily mental-flossing routine for everyone: step away from the newsfeed, for goodness' sake. Re-center on what really matters, and especially let go of that which does not matter.
That which does not matter is money and status and other imaginary concepts. Something which really matters, at least to me, is good cooking. I've been perfecting a staple dish of refried beans and kale for the past year and a half. Something else to do, and then it's yummy with cornbread, for dinner.
My comments in here are not as frequent as those of many other commenters, because I've kept busy cooking beans and cornbread.

OPCW, Aaron Mate, Brazil
Aaron Mate has a good half hour video on his recent presentation on the Duma cover-up at the U.N. Security Council and talks in detail about Brazil's response which is a major shift in support of Mate and the 2 inspectors who were cut out of the final report.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecLivzYFFWg
I agree with Maté's hunch that this is a major shift which will anger the Biden administration and the UK. I think Lula is going to emerge as a near top tier player globally during the next months, specifically regarding Ukraine, BRICS huge expansion and the move away from the dollar. All of these are mortal threats to the U.S. Biden favored Lula over Bolsonaro and many speculated that he had some leverage over Lula (helped free him from prison?) and Lula postured as critical of Putin in January but I think he has outfoxed Biden & company. Watch what he does. Lula is apparently recovering well from viral pneumonia and re-scheduling a 5 day trip to China along with a big team. In addition to the BRICS work I anticipate Lula will step forward with China and mediate in Ukraine. He has the street cred from when he mediated with Iran and Obama. It would be really big and signify Brazil's step up in leadership among multi polar countries. Biden said "We're back!" I can imagine Lula saying "So are we!"
Lots of stuff going on in Latin America, almost all favoring the new multi polar world. Can't keep up.

In case anyone needs a laugh today:
"Multiple doctors working on U.S. military bases recently claimed that children as young as 7-years-old can consent to sex-change treatment before demanding that the Department of Defense announce a “gender-affirmative position” on so-called “gender diverse youths.”
In the American Journal of Public Health, the doctors argued that children who show symptoms of gender dysphoria should be given “gender-affirming health care, such as puberty suppression and affirming hormones.”
Oh yeah its real:

Good timing for a break, as according to the MSM:
"Putin prepares Russia for ‘forever war’ with west as Ukraine invasion stalls"

"You could post something about the AI revolution that is taking place right now. ChatGTP-4 is saving me 10X time on various tasks. Just today I had it analyse a spreadsheet for me. It did that in 30 seconds, something that would normally have taken me an hour."
How much more obvious can it be that AI is going to eventually take-over your job?
Agreed, AI is an excellent topic with many interesting rabbit holes to explore...
But likely would make b want to take another break asap, a long one LOL

Echoing all the other comments, take care of yourself first.
I have not said enough on how grateful I am for this oasis of reality-based thinking in a desert of clownery.
I found this place back around 2014 and it has provided me with a lot of help cutting thru the propaganda storms.
Be well. And I second the comments on using humor as a way to cope.

How much more obvious can it be that AI is going to eventually take-over your job?If you believe that, you might suggest AI takes over b's job. Should work fine, and no need to rest?

I for one greatly appreciate the work you do B, a shining light amidst the fog!
The suggestions people make to recharge your batteries by spending a few days enjoying some of the beautiful places this world has to offer underlines for me that this planet Earth we all call home is what sustains us all so it breaks my heart how the likes of Biden, Nuland, Blinken et al have no qualms about dividing it up and turning some parts of it into a hellscape of death and misery. It doesn’t have to be like that and the work of you B and others who work in the same space is so much more valuable than you could ever realise so from me, a big thankyou!

Conclusion and relevance
Physical activity is highly beneficial for improving symptoms of depression, anxiety and distress across a wide range of adult populations, including the general population, people with diagnosed mental health disorders and people with chronic disease. Physical activity should be a mainstay approach in the management of depression, anxiety and psychological distress.

I know the feeling. I am upgrading an old and very large website and the same feeling hit me. I took a day off and went in SF with the family. I was pleasantly surprised with the trip and my energy was renewed.
For you I think it will take more than just one day off. Get some rest, travel, see family, get renewed.
