Climate justice:

> Don’t tell Africa that the world cannot afford the climate cost of its hydrocarbons — and then fire up coal stations whenever Europe feels an energy pinch. Don’t tell the poorest in the world that their marginal energy use will break the carbon budget — only to sign off on new domestic permits for oil and gas exploration. It gives the impression your citizens have more of a right to energy than Africans.

Western development has unleashed climate catastrophe on my continent. Now, the rich countries’ green policies dictate that Africans should remain poor for the greater good. To compound the injustice, Africa’s hydrocarbons will be exploited after all — just not for Africans.

The Western countries are unable to take politically difficult decisions that hurt domestically. Instead, they move the problem offshore, essentially dictating that the developing world must swallow the pill too bitter for their own voters’ palates. Africa didn’t cause the mess, yet we pay the price. <

We have been from 1787 after the fruits of War of Independence was hijacked, merely an ever growing cancerous canker , an imitation, of what our then Oligarchs & Robber Barons have brought us too, a mirror of the former British Empire (not the USSR).
Yet the Sun WILL set.
Though am looking forward to the possibility of digital Samizdat amongst the stifling oppressive censorship & propaganda, here amongst the Golden Billion, maybe a Western re-incarnation of our own Solzhenitsyn (improved model, fewer flaws)…

Those of us who are historians and those who are inclined to read such works will want to read Lavrov’s introduction to ” Volume XV of the Publishing Project ‘History Told by the People'”:

Dear readers,
It is a great honor for me to present a new book from the series “History Told by the People”, which is published as part of a large-scale research project “Military History of the Russian State”. The authors set themselves a very noble goal – to show the Great Patriotic War through the prism of human destinies, relying on materials from personal, family archives – thousands of photographs, documents, stories and memories. Such an idea and its implementation amaze with scientific depth and a powerful emotional charge.
The volume you are holding in your hands is timed to coincide with the 220th anniversary of the Russian Foreign Ministry. His heroes are Soviet diplomats of the period of war fever. In the first months after the German attack, more than 160 NKID officers enlisted in the militia. They went to the front, took part in the Battle for Moscow. Many of them fell to the death of the brave. Today, their names are carved on a memorial plaque in the Foreign Ministry building.
Others, sparing no effort, did everything possible to create and strengthen the anti-Hitler coalition, approach the date of the opening of the second front, as well as the formation of the post-war architecture of global security, including the establishment ofthe UN. All of them honorably and to the end fulfilled their professional and human duty to the Motherland.
The book is based on unique documents that were found and collected literally bit by bit. A significant contribution to the joint efforts was made by the Council of Veterans and the Historical and Documentary Department of our Ministry.
The work done is all the more in demand because today in a number of European countries, especially inUkraineand the Baltic States, the policy of rewriting history, justifying the bloody crimes of the Nazis and their henchmen is intensifying. The decisive role of our country in the defeat of Nazism is denied. The purpose of such actions is not only to denigrate modern Russia as the successor of the USSR, but also to revise the universally recognized international legal results of World War II, including the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal.
In this regard, the Russian Foreign Ministry will continue to uncompromisingly counteract these dangerous trends, actively contribute to the preservation of historical truth and its transmission to future generations in an undistorted form. We will not allow anyone to defame the honor and good name of the victorious soldiers.
The series “A Story Told by the People”, including its XV volume, is also intended to contribute to the solution of these important tasks. I am convinced that the publication will arouse genuine interest both among historians and a wide range of readers.

I tried to find some additional info and/or links to this project but came up empty. I did however find and share this, Russian Archives Portal, which has a great amount of material. Aha! searching in Russian allowed me to find what I was after, “Military History of the Russian State”, and clicking around will lead you to discover more. Yes, an auto-translator will be needed by those illiterate in Russian.

@103 juliania | Nov 14 2022 18:28 utc
Yes, that is the nub of the matter of course. The real point is not to determine if the universe is a closed system or if it somehow manages to be infinite, but to live with that infinity and let one’s mind allow it to be.
In other words, once our relative understanding seeks to address the absolute, we are stuck for tools, because a mind that is a closed system cannot view the infinite.
And yet the infinite crops up from time to time, in our relative systems, as pointing to realities and truths that we have no other words for. How, for example, do we contemplate the Buddhist concept of “beginningless time”? And yet we can, but it’s done less by thinking and more by experiencing.
And so, approaching the infinite – for us in our relative systems of thought – is never a matter of understanding what “it” is, and always rather a matter of allowing our mind to become free of its relative, closed-system thinking. Otherwise we can never approach very closely.
This is why we invent words like “infinity” in the first place to describe the inconceivable, I suppose. We in our little minds must find words that offer closure, allowing us to put periods at the end of sentences, and to go on with our day “sanely”.
But the universe has no such limitation.
And sometimes we come closer with a word like “ineffable” to describe divinity. This word can be used on a working day to close a sentence, but it does its work best not by closing a sentence but by blowing open a mind. Actually contemplating ineffability.
And you know all this of course. As did many of the great scientists that Ehret cited in his piece.
~~
By the way, I was not suggesting that Putin was speaking in the terms that Crooke used, or that any of that was on his mind. It’s simply that Crooke sees a pattern in Putin’s speech that recalls to him a similar pattern from human experience in an earlier time. He sees a certain resonance, and points it out. And the resonance truly is there, although it’s hard often to know what to make of it.
He did the same with today’s “cancel culture”, and showed how it was employed in exactly the same way in a more ancient time. That’s really all he’s doing or even trying to do, I think. And none of his musings have yet hit a kind of pay dirt that we can use in this age, as tactics or strategy.
But some have come close, and watching his effort is, to my mind, breathtaking.
~~
All good wishes to you 🙂

As you will have seen, Opport K, a number of us have been taken aback. I labored a bit with my previous answer just before yours, and can only say I found the Crooke article most strange. To Scorpion who thinks I am putting words in his mouth, I will just say that SeanAU @ 69 says it best for me – and that it is the concept of ‘literal pulse’ as opposed to symbolic in church matters that had me struggling for words, but Sean’s comment says it best – I will simply endorse that, with goodwill towards all. And I stick by my own appraisal – Putin was not saying what Crooke has said.

On the issue of trolls using monikers of other users: IMO, there’s only one way to cure that problem and that’s to go to registering users like Saker finally did to purge 99% of his trolls. The problem is whether Typepad can operate in that way. The only other option IMO is real-time moderation where some form of ISP register must be made to identify the real from the pseudo. Yes, a very sad development; but given the nature of the conflict, it was bound to happen as that’s the last straw the Outlaw US Empire can employ in this and other venues. And yes, it will be a huge headache for b who now faces the real need to employ a team.

Should any barflies take an interest in long-term weather forecasts, Andrej Flis of Severe Weather Europe is the most industrious, informative teacher I’ve found on the web. The interplay of oceanic and stratospheric events with Earth’s troposphere (where the weather lives) is what I’m looking for. This fellow really delivers…
A significant cooling event continues in the Stratosphere due to the large Water Vapor cloud, but can it impact the upcoming Winter Season?
By Andrej Flis

The January eruption of Hunga Tonga in the South Pacific has injected a large amount of water vapor into the stratosphere. That water vapor is now causing significant cooling of the southern stratosphere, continuing into late Fall and early Winter.
We looked at the historical data and found that there is a weak indication of the south stratospheric cooling, coinciding with later stratospheric warming events over the northern hemisphere. But much more research is needed, as other background signals can be at play.
Stratospheric warming during the northern hemisphere winter can mean a heavy disruption of circulation. This causes pressure changes and can unleash cold air from the Arctic into the United States and Europe.

I hate to add fuel to this fire, but come on.
But this was obviously only a very tenuous arrangement…any black with two brain cells to rub together realize that most whites work hard, love their family and their country, and want to get along with blacks if perhaps only at a distance. Blacks also like to flock together with other blacks. Nothing wrong with this. Never has been.
This is just silly. Do you know why Blacks who live in the places that either enslaved them or wrecked their countries “like to flock together with other Blacks”? I’ll give you a hint. Because until not even three generations ago, they were often forbidden from comingling with “whites” to the extent that they weren’t even allowed to live in the same neighborhoods. That tends to cause a societal group to form its own codes and bonds. Only at a distance? You’re attributing that to “MOST” whites? That’s called racialized projection on your part.
And you ask where the racism was?
I am glad blacks are waking themselves up. I have no qualms with nationalist blacks and I even would think we need to have a discussion about giving them their own territory, administering it for a decade or two, and then handing it over to them so that we can just be done with this whole racial multiculturalism paradigm. The blacks that want to keep living with whites and vice versa should obviously not be discriminated against however.
It will take a lot of generosity and good faith on whites to forgive blacks for being under the Jewish spell and for blacks to crawl out from their victim-mentality existence and start living their own history.

There’s nothing enlightened in what Kyrie or Kanye said about da Jooz. “Giving” “Blacks” (as though they’re all of one group?) their own territory? LOL how’d that work for the American Indians. This comment is so riddled with casual, insidious racism that It’s amazing you don’t see it.
Whites “FORGIVE” Blacks? LMAO! For what? I think it’s the other way around. And frankly, Blacks have been incredibly forgiving and magnanimous in the face of still-present racism and bigotry and ignorance, not to mention the history and broken promises (40 acres and a mule anyone)? Anglo whites have a long past in this hemisphere and it nearly all involves subjugation, theft, backstabbing, slavery, greed and murder – before the first JOOO ever set foot in North America. Now you’re going to tell us that JOOS financed the slave trade, I’m sure.
I’m with john, the Chappelle monologue was hella funny, but you’re putting forth viscously casual racism and bristling when called out on it.

I’d like to politely ask you that same question, steven. I’d also like to know what your personal, articulable thoughts are on the modern US Democratic Party (say post-Carter) and where it stands in the overall firmament of socially/economically populist policy.
I’m not understanding this fixation with bevin either, but I am also not well versed in the various splinter groups that emerged from the USSR or the internecine battles. For instance, all I know about Leon Trotsky and the Trotskyites are that they were against a large unified state/imperial communism, that he fled to Mexico (don’t really even know why) and was murdered.
Perhaps a better question on that last part, then, is could you outline your views and contrast them to what you allege bevin is doing in layman’s terms – but contrasting specific philosophies/policies is also welcome.

There’s another aspect to this and what is now known from cognitive science and other disciplines tests. When remembering or imagining things, feelings and events the exact same brain sectors and synapses fire “as if” those events are actually happening in the present. so mocking up confidence (as just one example) can over time strengthen the brain connections that build and enhance confidence (more or less) – to a 4th century intellectual religious person steeped in all kinds of beliefs of those times this may well look and feel like a god-force .. some super natural intervention.
this is not to deny things like intuition, inner awareness, or spirit or life force or a ‘god’ beyond physicality etc. Each to their own… everyone thinks and believes differently at the end of the day.

Would seem the purest gene record of modern Homo Sapiens is found on one continent only, alas it is not Europe nor north America, neither the Indian subcontinent, but Africa.
These ‘blacks’ that you have serially referred to, regarding the evolution of the human race, nations & peoples found there, would therefore constitute the supposed purest ‘Aryan’ ideal, the ubermenchen of humanity, as opposed to the false categorization of untermenchen. Whereas unlike the gene record in every other continent, they are not contaminated by ~3-4% neanderthal DNA, where the gene pool has not been contaminated, or as supremacists would say, polluted.
Supposing any rational human being would seriously give credence to eugenics or farcical race based theories, the Nazis should in fact have been ruled by well attired Jackboot wearing Zulu warriors perhaps ?
So very confused with all this stuff about revolutionary/revolting blacks, whites, lesser browns yellows, etc.
Especially since Europe, led by the British empire considered Chinese white until the circa 19th c, just prior to commencing rapine & conquest for riches & one-sided forced trade, then they by necessity, pre-requisite, needed to be reclassified as non-white, yellow.
Similar time-frame, due profitable trade opportunities the western whities graciously granted the Japanese honorary white status, & to this day still interact/deal with condescendingly as such.
Personally one thinks its claptrap, a faux thesis merely to justify exploitation/pillage/domination made up out of whole cloth, though the notion of the supposed Nazi Aryans being reduced to ignorant uneducated field hands & laborers for subsistence, with disciplined military Zulu overseers strutting in lockstep does generate some intriguing imagery. Future EU & UK ?
Oh wait, that is largely the real world reality these days is it not, with the Norwegian & the Aussie in NZ imprisoned for their crimes, intellectual giants as they were, and a seemingly countless stream voluntarily traveling to Ukraine to regenerate the fields of Ukraine, as human fertilizer, no ?
Problem is we need to come up with a suitably comparatively equivalent derogatory & discriminatory racial label for pseudo Anglo-saxon white supremacists … hm … ‘Asswipes’ perhaps. After all mass numbers of Asswipes repeatedly demonstrate an apparent extreme irrational obsession with hoarding shit-tons of soft toilet paper. We could do word substitution for blacks thru your previous commentary to see how it sounds to ones ear… thoughts ?
Perhaps the consequences of Darwinism re the current battlefield given the ‘Asswipes’ fatal casualties rate mean we are actually incrementally improving the quality of the human gene pool ?
The way things are goin’ it is at least one of infinite possible futures …

I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me when writing my comment to you, but you really would benefit from reading this book. It was recommended to me by a politically/socially conservative Black friend in Central Texas.
Here’s the full book: https://edisciplinas.usp.br/pluginfile.php/1017476/mod_resource/content/1/barbara-j-fields-and-karen-fields-racecraft-the-soul-of-inequality-in-american-life.pdf
This is MIT’s review of the book. https://thereader.mitpress.mit.edu/oppressive-enduring-legacy-racecraft/
From that review, this blurb (among others) caught my eye.

A great many Irish came to America in the 19th century in response to the Irish famine at mid-century. They were grouped initially with blacks as despised manual workers. The new Irish immigrants joined with abolitionists to oppose slavery out of sympathy with their attempts to free Ireland from English rule. Only when many Irish Americans had abandoned this stance were they considered whites, who then joined other whites and adopted their racecraft.
Jews followed a similar immigrant path when they began to arrive at the end of the 19th century in response to pogroms in Eastern Europe. They were discriminated against, and restricted in where they could live, work, and sometimes simply stay during the first half of the 20th century — from the age of mass immigration from Eastern Europe to the end of the Second World War. There were a few rich Jews — the heirs of earlier court Jews — but they were the exception to the general rule. Most Jews were lumped in with blacks even though they were not black. After the tragic effects of the Second World War and in postwar prosperity, Jews began to be accepted everywhere; they had become white. But while they had made the transition, their movement did not affect the structure of race relations in America. Being white in America meant being superior to blacks, and many Jews adopted racecraft with their newly white status, according to anthropologist Karen Brodkin. Those who did shared its conventions of exclusion, while others remembered past discrimination and tried to help people who had not made it into the American mainstream.
As the dual economy developed in the late 20th century, large numbers of Latinos began immigrating to the United States in response to chaos in their homelands. There has been what might be called a second Great Migration of Latinos from Mexico and other Central American countries that followed the Great Migration of African Americans before 1970. The number of Latinos in the United States has grown from around 5 percent in 1970 to 17 percent today. The Latino population now exceeds the black population in the United States.
As with the Great Migration, Latinos moved north to escape repressive political regimes that denied them a path to economic advancement and security. American interventions in Central America to dislodge governments we did not approve of were followed by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1994. NAFTA exposed Mexico to the effects of globalization that had affected United States workers by then. But Mexican workers had an option that American workers lacked: they could move north to better their position.

and

The enduring reach of racecraft can be seen in the treatment of immigrants, even though biologists have not been able to provide a satisfactory definition of race that includes all members of a given race and excludes all others. In the 19th century, new immigrants typically were poor, and they were grouped with African Americans in the binary world of racecraft. Some immigrants fared so well in America that they graduated from being “black” to being “white.” Other immigrants did not fare so well, whether because of cultural attributes or the American context when they came. But the enduring influence of racecraft meant that the record of their American success was calibrated by racecraft.

I suppose you might point to the perceived differences in behavior, economic status, criminal law, etc. but the book (and the review) provide plenty of reasons for what you think is cut and dried common sense.

Looks like alot of ‘racecraft’ is just good old fashioned class differentiation, much natural, much manipulated. As old as the sun and moon. This is why some groups previously ‘dark’ move up to be regarded as ‘white’. First generation clean the latrines so are dark or lower / under class, second generation speak the language fluently and become educated professionals like doctors or self-starting small business owners and so are ‘white’ or middle class.
Much of the race rhetoric is used to pit us all against each other. It works too.

President Xi profoundly pointed out the three layers of common interests between China and the US. It is in our mutual and fundamental interest to prevent conflict and confrontation and achieve peaceful coexistence. It is in our mutual interest to benefit from each other’s development. It is also in our mutual interest to promote post-COVID global recovery, tackle climate change and resolve regional issues through China-US coordination and cooperation. “Under the current circumstances, China and the US share more, not less, common interests.”

Racecraft as defined in the book is actually a little more nuanced and far reaching than what you got from the summary blurb, but I agree with you on the above. Race in and among human beings is a bullshit construct and one of the easiest to abuse. One of the more interesting aspects of the book is in its telling of various non-Americans’ experience with racism in the USA back to Tocqueville. While other countries have obvious racism, the American variety is pretty unique.

The neoliberalism, aka raging capitalism, is ramping up as if on steroids. First they use the Ukraine war as an excuse (to try to undermine Russia and China in another way) that won’t be complained about now … down the track the same manipulations distortions and outright FRAUD basically will be applied to their allies and on the home front as well.
anything resembling “social welfare” or “govt involvement in any market” will be deemed by the neoliberals as an attack against the free market rules-based order ….. they are insane.

U.S. Ends Russia’s Market Economy Status In Anti-Dumping Proceedings
“gives the United States the ability to apply the full force of the [anti-dumping] law to address the market distortions caused by increasing interference from the Russian government in their economy.”

2) Biden’s chat with Pres. Xi on Monday 14th Nov in Bali
“and (Biden) brought up China’s “non-market economic practices.”
I think this might be a new updated approach being rolled out recently …. intended to eat away at the power of legitimate Governments to determine their own sovereignty over their economic activities and social welfare programs and accepted social environmental practices/norms.
Not only in Russia or China, oh no, everywhere eventually would be the goal.
Think about this – any form of public housing or residential rental subsidy by Govt can be, will be(?) construed as a Governments interference in the economy – and as such it creates a “market distortion” and because the Market is – well like God almighty and cannot be questioned even by the High Priests of Neoliberalism – it is an unjustified act by Government that must be stopped immediately.
The same goes for health care, food subsidies, fuel subsidies, child care assistance, parental leave, free govt education, public broadcasting, and on and on and on without end.
It will be decreed that Only The Market Can Decide how all Economic Activity shall Operate and what is produced at what price and for whom. Not Governments.
Of course it’s “nuts” but this is what these people are like, they too are “nuts.” And yet every year they advance that little bit further than before.

Therefore, the state can be kept in its place only if certain ideas become pervasive through the ultimately benevolent efforts of a minority of bureaucrats and intellectuals that forge them.
Thus, there is a neat division between the sphere where economic calculation is pos-
sible and the sphere where it is impossible, coupled with the conviction that the state
initiatives—‘measures that are taken for the purpose of preserving the private property
order are not interventions’ (Mises, 1929, p. 17)—can be easily defined, circumscribed
and distinguished from ‘interventionism’, which is considered to be unavoidably coun-

If one reads this SMH article with sufficient hairy eyeball, one can see that the one useful thing that the ‘Albo’ government has done is make an effort to get the China – Australia relationship back on track.
Of course Oz’s claimed subjects for the talk between Albo and Xi bear no resemblance to what was really discussed, however if Albanese is sufficiently aware to refrain from beating up the conversation into some sort of stupid claim that he told the chinamen “what is what”, then Australia will greatly benefit from these resuscitated ‘talks’.
In fact one merely has to read the comments made by readers to comprehend that the normal Australian couldn’t give a flying fuck what amerika reckons is the evil that is China’s determination not to be pushed around by a mob of ignorant Oz fascists to see that really the previous bunch of Oz pols in control knew nothing of actual China & had fallen for amerika’s bullshit take on Australia’s largest and most ‘rewarding’ trading partner so that even the most indoctrinated of Oz’s capitalists were finally forced to acknowledge that their government’s actions did nothing for Oz while they assisted amerika with self defeating policies which any amerikan government would never, ever institute themselves.
Maybe one day Albo and his opposite number in charge of Oz’s other major political grouping, the Australian Liberal Party, will agree that there is nothing to be gained but much to be lost by slavishly adhering to amerikan imperial nonsense.

Interfering in the economy is one of any modern government’s basic responsibilities. If a modern economy is to work well, be reliable, etc, it must be managed. (The US economy is the poster boy for that fact. It crashes about every ten years.) The US Congress doesn’t want to do that because then they would not get all that free corporate money for campaigns. And for some reason they like all that free cash. Not to mention the soft-landing cushy office jobs that come after. This is all illegal too, but nobody wants to enforce the law either.

The market economy is a recent substitute for some deity in justifying unaccountable rule. Instead of “It is God’s Law” or better “I am God!!!!” we get “It’s the Magic Market(tm)” that decides everything has to be the way it is. This is, in all such cases, a lie.

Even the god of free markets , Adam Smith , would both laugh at and castigate the freemarketeers of today. Adam always said utilities should never be left to the influence of markets.
The lie is put to the Free -marketeers by asking them to allow demand for police forces, armies, politician salaries and defence spending to be determined by the market. How many free-marketeers, politicians, generals ,owners of munition plants and police commissioners would agree to that , do you think?
Anyone who says “ always leave it to the markets “is either a fool or out to get more than their fair share.
The trade sanctions against China and Russia were in large part simply due to the American free marketeers and their pals realising that the market didn’t suit them anymore , and they had to hobble China and Russia with some good old gov intervention that neo-liberals normally rail about. Does the average Western citizen know about this? Nope, too busy making a living , playing football or just too dumb to care.

I listened to Putins Q and A session at Valdai and he gives an example (actually kind of refreshing to see a politician directly answer questions, although, it was fairly high level).
Basically, no legal capacity means no capacity to act on their own.
The example he gives is negotiating with (a country whos name I forget) about action in Syria, setting plans, only to have them go immediately to Washington and then pretending as if the planning never happened.
Like if you had your mad aunt committed, she has diminished legal capacity. You can go visit her in the asylum, you can make plans to go out to lunch, but the warden still has the final say over the plans.

Just published “It’s G20 Time Again: Lavrov’s day One Presser”. I should also link to Escobar’s latest, “Russia, India, China, Iran: the Quad that really matters”. Events are moving apace. Here’s what’s on-tap after the G20:
“On November 16-17, the 33rd annual meeting of foreign ministers and trade ministers of the economies participating in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum will be held in Bangkok, which will be attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Pankin and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation V.E. Ilyichev.
“The meeting will be the final stage of preparations for the APEC Summit of Heads of State and Government on November 17-19. The Ministerial Discussion will focus on supporting trade and investment, in particular through the creation of inclusive opportunities to restore comprehensive regional connectivity, as well as the promotion of balanced, inclusive and sustainable post-pandemic growth in the APEC region, including through the biocircular green economy model.”
There’ll be lots to recap as we head into December. I’ll be publishing another G20 article tomorrow.

For Aussies there can be no doubt- one could probably calculate, in hundreds of dollars, the annual per capita cost of not seizing the opportunities of trade with China and the rest of the world.
But for the politicians/ intellectuals/media and other members of the political caste not to aspire to be american and to bask in america’s approval and to start reporting not to Washington but to the countrymen and women whom they so despise (for being like them) is more than they can conceive of. If it is at all like Canada it was bad enough breaking the Mother Country habit- it almost killed them- to ask them to wean themselves entirely is unrealistic.

For those interested, here’s my 2021 G20 article that links to both speeches by Xi and Putin, while providing short commentary and excerpts.
Also of importance is Putin’s meeting today with the Pobeda Organizing Committee, the transcript is in English and is introduced thusly:
“The meeting focused on supporting and developing memorials eternalising the memory of Soviet victims of the genocide by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Great Patriotic War.
“The agenda also includes applications from cities for the City of Military Glory and the City of Labour Glory honorary titles, and an event programme to mark the 80th anniversary of lifting the siege of Leningrad.”
Given its content, I’m also going to comment on the meeting on the current Ukraine thread, where most eyes are focused.

Sounds so Josep Borrel, or jack London, or
Churchill, or Bertrand Russell innit ?

Much of Russell’s obsession about “too many” births linked contraception and abortion as important new advances to achieve a “stable” population. He was alarmed about the higher fertility of nonwhite women and he demanded that the Asian and black birthrate be drastically curtailed. Otherwise, he felt his own breed (whites) would be overwhelmed, resulting in chaos and disaster
War has hitherto been disappointing in this respect…but perhaps a bacteriological war may prove more effective. If a Black Death could be spread throughout the world once in every generation, survivors would be free to procreate freely without making the world too full.” Russell went on, “this state of affairs may be somewhat unpleasant, but what of it? Really high minded people are indifferent to happiness, especially other people’s.”

Russia, India, China, Iran: the Quad that really matters
Tuesday, 15 November 2022
https://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2022/11/15/692770/Russia,-India,-China,-Iran–the-Quad-that-really-matters-
It runs through a whole series of interconnected real events and happenstances then stitches it all together without unnecessary hyperbole or extreme unsubstantiated claims. A good article for anyone who might have missed some steps connections along the way, this article can fill those in and offers what to look up if you missed them.
Using the Quad analogy was a clever way to tie the content together and offers a comparison pov; a useful comparative framing, without going completely off the reservation.
I think if it actually included embedded linked references or a list at the end would make it more user friendly.

The concern about the ‘unprecedentedly huge population’ has nothing to do with your garden and Empire obsessions. It’s mainly just logistical. What sort of societies result from central governments running / ruling 1.5 billion people which is considerably larger than US, Europe & Russia combined? I already have this concern with nations of 100 million or more, let alone 1-2 billion. It is nothing, zero, zilch to do with race though it seems you are so obsessed with race that you cannot consider other points of view. Sorry, not my obsession!
The recent shift to having Xi President for life is a move towards more centralization of power in the hands of an individual who is hand-picking more members of both the 25 member Politburo and the smaller Standing Committee of seven at the top. Maybe those little shufflings at the top don’t matter (though I suspect they very much do) and what matters is how life is at the street, town square, factory, small business and farmers’ levels and maybe on those levels things are fine.
But you keep attributing things to my posts that are not expressed nor felt. Frankly, you seem stuck in old paradigms and tropes and project them onto others for some reason and then get all outraged about your own projections!!
I actually chose not to life out my retirement years in the US or Canada, for example, because I don’t like the current culture or Empire business. I live with someone who is part black. The whole racism business is mainly made up by bad actors playing bad games and doesn’t have any bearing on any of my posts. The most MSM I read generally is here at MoA where b debunks their claims. I follow partisan political elections sometimes but only for entertainment, like I sometimes watch sports games, not caring at all who wins or loses. Western politicians and parties are all POS as far as I’m concerned, but that includes partisan critics as well as partisan cheerleaders. Generally, for example, although no great fan of Trump I find the critics several orders of magnitude worse. I’m generally on the side of the bulk of his supporters, I think, but it’s not my struggle so have no emotion in it except a general sadness that the western culture and civilization I grew up in is clearly in decline. It would be nice if elections could solves such dilemmas but I realized long ago that it isn’t the case. So I was hoping Trump wouldn’t run again because he gets his supporters hopes up to ‘take their country back again’ but will do no such thing. He’ll make things worse, not better, and so will their support for an agenda that cannot be realized, ie cleaning out the agean stables in DC, basically closing it down. Never gonna happen. So the whole thing is sad. But that too has nothing to do with racism or any other ism for that matter.
Anyway, you go ahead worshipping China or whatever it is. Am actually not sure what you think since you have spent quite a bit of time attacking my attitudes – mistakenly as it happens but it’s your choice – and I really don’t know what it is you have to offer, if anything. Personally, I would find that much more interesting than irate ad hominems spitting out tired old MSM-derived tropes, none of which have any bearing on anything I feel or write.
Psycho for example has (more gently) offered snide remarks about my positions on monarchy but has never once saw fit to argue what, if anything, I wrote that he finds false or objectionable, merely stoops to ad hominem. That’s neither an argument nor an exchange of views and imo abuses our host’s generosity. These quibbles and attacks by comments are a waste of everyone’s time and mutual good will. It’s a form of theft, actually, stealing peoples’ time. He says I demonstrate stupidity all the time but in writing such childish drivel it is just yet more pot calling kettle black showing great psychological immaturity in so doing. I guess his moniker is apropos.
I urge you both to drop it. You’ll feel better and the entire board will benefit. SOmetimes I have posted too frequently but now I finally have my car back again I suspect there will be less long periods of waiting around for stuff to happen that keeps not happening (!) so hopefully those days are over. But I don’t go around policing the board, fussing about trolls, attacking other posters. To me those posts are the ones lowering the quality here. If you don’t like someone’s posts just scroll by or ignore them. No need for female high school peer group pressure BS.

Thanks for that. It’s amazing how far Malone’s mind has traveled in the last three years. I haven’t read it yet, so can’t comment further on this piece.
There are a lot of his pieces at that substack that I’m playing catch-up with. He’s become a prolific writer, and an important thinker, in this space.

He’s become a prolific writer, and an important thinker, in this space.
Posted by: Grieved | Nov 17 2022 0:57 utc | 159
I haven’t subscribed to many but I find the substacks keep stacking up too. Good name, I guess, but it means am not reading ’em!
One of Malone’s huge challenges is that because dissident messaging is subject to ostracization from ‘respectable’ publications and broadcasts, he ends up mainly being heard by one side and is becoming a voice from that side speaking to a virtual echo chamber. Doubtless this is not his intent but it is his predicament.
Indeed this is true for most important discourse these days. Somehow people have learned how to establish what is politically correct and what not. If it’s politics, elections, evolutionary theory, war, geopolitics – whatever, nearly always we find a correct establishment view and then anything differing being subject to scorn, abuse, dismissal, ridicule but mainly banishment from public discourse.
On the level of speech we have teetered far closer to totalitarianism than most of us like to acknowledge, let alone condone. Control of speech is very close to control of thought, and since mind trump body the new totalitarianism if/when it becomes officially established may well involve far more constraints on speech than body, and thanks to modern technology this is far more feasible than at any time in prior history. Making the risk of totalitarianism far higher than at any point in history thus far.
Malone’s vision is clearly in the opposite direction. He is articulating a political vision of The Many versus a totalitarian One (ring to rule them all) paradigm. But I think you need both because reality has both and if you try to have only one then it won’t be in accord with reality for one thing and for another it won’t last.
The trick I believe is to make the One as formless as possible, principles which bind, values which are shared, awareness fields mutually experienced. Meanwhile the Many is also where diverse Earth practicalities come in with different locations, customs, issues, projects, disputes, progress, obstacles, peoples, systems, conditions and so forth. Here is where different jurisdictions make different rules and decisions based on their own criteria. But you cannot create a world that is only diversified as per his vision unless there is some common accord on the over-arching ‘One’ level which he is identifying as a Totalitarian negative principle but must be included as a more benevolent, if formless, Heaven principle in order for his type of vision to have legs in the manifest realm.
In fact, I think there must be three levels of One, Many and in-between. The One could be manifest in a one page charter of principles which every member people feels bound to uphold. Or there could be nothing at all, completely formless. The Many is the different languages, cultures, peoples, jurisdictions organized in no end of ways as per their own inclination. The in-between could be regions which, usually because of combination of geography and traditions, like to do things a similar way. For example India would remain as a region, plus most of the Moslem-following nations; Europe, Africa, South Asia maritime nations (Indonesia, Malaysia et alia), Latin America and so forth. Within those zones ideally many independent jurisdictions as per Malone’s suggestion but part of a larger identity and polity with probably more rules and norms, but ideally little or no central government which seems to be what messes everything up.
Or something…

Posted by: Scorpion | Nov 17 2022 1:38 utc | 158

PS
ANd the in-between regions would not just be nations etc. but also more widespread interests that interpenetrate between various independent Malonian jurisdictions – sports leagues, musical movements and performers, religious movements, fashion, art and so forth. These are not controlled by the jurisdictions per se although have to be able to function within them lawfully (and joyfully).

Never bothered to read the comments just b’s articles…
In my experience those accusing others of lying are usually liars themselves, or worse.
Not at all obsessed with Taiwan; it was just a topic with Pelosi visit. What happened to those other island peoples sounds wrong but seemingly you believe that if they were allowed to determine their own fate by plebiscite that would be more wrong.
You confuse being concerned about potential totalitarianism in huge population states with being pro AngloZionist Empire and hysterically project that confusion onto others.
Denk, please stop obsessing about policing b’s comment section by appealing to others in immature teenage peer group fashion and just contribute your own views. I might have learned something about the intricacies of the Taiwan issue from you but never did because you are more into trolling for negativity than exchanging views or imparting facts.
Thanks suzan for suggestion though the name Samantha Power is off putting!
Meanwhile just skimmed through an article critical of Putins Russia from a purportedly Russian Europhile site publishing in English.
They are, predictably, predicting Russia’s imminent collapse.

If it wasn’t it would be a multiverse.

Thanks to Juliania and Norwegian.
The existence of a multiverse may be an interesting theory, but it is deterministic by definition and violates the idea of free will, thereby negating the basis of all civilization.
I think this theory is fundamentally nihilistic. Just my half cent.

Orlov’s latest, title: “2022 the year the US lost all respect.”
Behind modest paywall but…
Basically, Turkey just poked a diplomatic thumb in US diplomatic eye.

A couple of days ago there was a terrorist attack in the center of İstanbul, Turkey. The details are not important and I wouldn’t tell you about them in any case because I am not a media whore who empowers terrorists by giving them free advertising. What’s important is Turkey’s official reaction to American official condolences that were offered after the fact: Turkey refused to accept them. Head of Turkey’s foreign ministry Süleyman Soylu expressed this plainly enough: “We do not accept condolences of the American embassy.
He said some other interesting things too. Turkey knows where the attack was coordinated: in the US. Who carried it out doesn’t matter; those were just “pawns.” And he characterized the US behavior in this matter as “the return of the murderer to the scene of the crime.”

G20 ends with Declaration criticizing RF. Lavrov left early.
https://asiatimes.com/2022/11/g20-delivers-hard-fought-communique-for-peace/

JAKARTA – Stung by the loss of the strategic city of Kherson, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s concerted missile barrage on Ukraine the previous night appears to have been responsible for the surprisingly strong final declaration emerging from the Group of Twenty (G20) Summit in Bali on Wednesday.
With Moscow’s delegation leader, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, abruptly flying out of the island resort the night before, the leaders condemned “in the strongest possible terms” the Russian invasion and its impact on global food and energy supply lines.
President Joko Widodo said negotiating the declaration had been extremely difficult, with diplomats working until midnight on the wording. But he hailed the 52-paragraph accord for condemning the war “because it has violated borders and the integrity of the region.”
A communiqué is slightly more nuanced than a declaration, but in both cases they seek to capture the sense of an event. As one diplomat put it: “Indonesia will come away from this feeling very pleased with themselves. It is absolutely more than they thought it could get.”
Point 3 of the Bali document referred to the March 2, 2022, United Nations General Assembly resolution, passed in a majority vote, that deplored Russian aggression against Ukraine and demanded its complete and unconditional withdrawal.
“Most members strongly condemned the war,” it says. “It is causing immense human suffering and exacerbating existing frailties in the global economy, constraining growth, increasing inflation, disrupting supply chains, heightening energy and food insecurity and elevating financial stability risks.”
The declaration acknowledged there were “other views and different assessments of the situation and related sanctions,” but added: “Recognizing that the G20 is not the forum to resolve security issues, we acknowledged that security issues can have significant consequences for the global economy.”
It said upholding international law and the multilateral system was essential to safeguarding peace and security, including defending the principles and purposes in the UN Charter and adhering to international humanitarian law – along with the protection of civilians and infrastructure.
“The use of or threat of use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible,” it went on. “The peaceful resolution of conflicts, efforts to address crises, as well as dialogue and diplomacy are vital. Today’s era must not be of war.”

this is a very well centralized state with an unprecedentedly huge population. Such a thing has never happened on this scale in human history. …..
So really all I’m concerned about is that in our zeal to see the wicked West fall that we aren’t enabling another, albeit different, type of monster.

IOW
The Yellow peril
A myth perpetrated by the entire west 24×7 to scare the shit outta the mushrooms,.
Look at the ring leaders FUKUS [fuck UK, US]

US launched 251 military interventions since 1991, and 469 since 1798
Only 22 countries have never been invaded by Britain

Their assault on China have never stopped
since the days of Opium wars.

When the perfidious albion and their gringo cousins whine about the yellow peril, its classic bandits crying robbery.
You barged into MOA to push this western
trope and demand immunity from challenge ,some cheek !
How’s your fear of the proliferating chinaman different from the likes of Borell, Russell, Churchill or this NObel lauriet…

As revealed by The Age, Nobel Prize-winning Australian microbiologist Sir Macfarlane Burnet secretly urged the Australian government in 1947 to develop bio-weapons for use against the ‘overpopulated countries of South-East Asia.’ In a 1947 meeting with the New Weapons and Equipment Development Committee, the group recommended that ‘the possibilities of an attack on the food supplies of S-E Asia and Indonesia using B.W. agents should be considered by a small study group.’

‘IM not racist’

Yellow peril is the very epitome of racism. [1]

Have observed recently a move to known twolls increasingly engaging in faux conversations between themselves as well as with & in support of masked & so they believe covert twolls, to manufacture faux credibility for lurker & casual audience. Poor trade-craft, sloppy, due to increasing ineffectiveness re alerted forum. Also low piece/bit rates.

I wasn’t aware of that. I was always taught that Germany had to take the Turks in as reparations ,as it did the Greek immigrants. I always thought it was very convenient and lucky for the Turks ; given they did hardly anything pro -Allied ,were actively Pro-Nazi and not one soldier officially fought against the Germans, even if Turkey did join the Allies “One minute to Midnight” to have a seat at the Peace Conference Carvery.
