Russian retreat from Kherson city sets stage for more hard combat
Washington Post - Nov 10, 2022
U.S. Army Gen. Mark A. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Tuesday night that 20,000 to 30,000 Russian forces remained on the western bank of the river and that it would take time for them to withdraw. But he, too, saw “initial indicators” that the retreat was underway, he said.“This won’t take them a day or two,” Milley said, speaking at an event at the Economic Club of New York. “This is going to take them days and maybe even weeks to pull those forces south of that river.”
The Ministry of Defense reported on the completion of the withdrawal of troops from Kherson
Kommersant (machine translation) - Nov 11, 2022
The Ministry of Defense reported that at 5:00 Moscow time, the transfer of Russian troops to the left bank of the Dnieper was completed. As the agency clarifies, not a single piece of military equipment and weapons was left on the right bank. The department reports that the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried at night to disrupt the transportation of civilians and the transfer of troops to the left bank of the Dnieper. River crossings were hit five times by HIMARS rockets.
“All Russian military personnel crossed over, no losses of personnel, weapons, equipment and materiel of the Russian group were allowed,” the Ministry of Defense said.

@ 599: A different opinion can be a honest opinion and then it is worthwhile. Troll opinions are all the same and intrinsically dishonest, so: trash. Like the judge said: I have no definition of pornography, but I do know it when I see it. Or I could spend a day showing you the idiocy of trolling, but then I would be feeding you, wouldn't I? Now you can start ranting about the paradoxes your behaviour let loose. But please, look out for a more honest job if you want to be a serious human being.Posted by: Anthony | Nov 12 2022 19:34 utc | 600
Spare me your condescending and patronizing bullshit.
You're one of those who help constrain the discussion between only two poles.
Either you're with us or you're against us, no room for anything else.
What a joke...

Odessa is not forgotten.
Some people clearly want to believe they can wish it away since they have associated themselves with it and are acting in support of the criminals. Duly noted I'm sure.

A masterpiece of projection.

@537 Exile "Pohm ( as in Pohmmie Bastard ) is the proper spelling of Pommie."
Utter nonsense.
The correct spelling is "Pom" or "Pommie", and it is a contraction of the word "pomegranate"
"Prisoner
Of
His
Majesty"
Again, utter nonsense.
The term refers to British immigrants to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa from the early 1910s to the present day.
None were convicts as three places had long since ceased to be convict dumping grounds.
You have no idea what you are talking about.

https://julianmacfarlane.substack.com/p/kherson-the-defeat-that-wasnt I am surprised at all the handwringing. This withdrawal had been talked about for weeks and prepared for, which is why it was accomplished so fast (3 days). And the withdrawal was accompanied by further strengthening of Russia positions all along the line and attrition of UAF forces. Militarily speaking -- slow success. Now, the handwringing is about the "freeze" of Russian forces. The only freeze that matters is that of the ground. Or maybe UAF forces frozen in static positions, sitting ducks for the offensive which will start when the Russians are ready in a few weeks.

Well, I'm not a BTC billionaire, I'm just a factory worker, but I agree, it'd be fun in a very bleak sense to bet twenty bucks or so.

It is not hand-wringing.
It is narrative shaping.
Some have fallen for it.
And amplify the hysteria.

Do you know what it means in English? You are basically saying that the Soviets won the war.

Thanks. Bitter sweet. The cost of love is pain and grief, sometimes unbearable. But the price is worth it a million times over. Those who harden their hearts against such costly pain lose their souls and can never see heaven.

There do exist virologists who mean well of course. And accidents happen in the best of Labs, it's inevitable. Then also, neither Yersinia pestis, Vibrio cholera, Marburg virus or Ebola virus came out of a Lab, even if our ways of living opened the door for them.
But there certainly are lots of "scientists" not worthy of the name, who for some kind of gain and with a total absence of conscience deliberately construct more and more deadly viruses, who experiment on unwitting civilians (Serratia marcescens sprayed by airplane- that's a classic, real story you can find in every serious bacteriology handbook) or soldiers ((Francisella tularensis in Ukraine is an example that was recently unearthed). They probably have a photograph of Mengele on their nightstand. One can but hope for a prion in their brain.
