Piers Corbyn – Jeremy’s older brother – is an accomplished weather forecaster whose methods have a long track record of being accurate months in advance. Because he poo-poos the global warming narrative (and now also the pandemic one as well) he is persona non grata in British media. Ideally the government would pay him for the forecasts which could be shared with all and sundry. For example this year big decisions by both individuals and townships need to be made in Northern European zones and knowing what’s coming down in Jan, Feb and March might be extremely helpful. that’s really cool srb! i have never heard of this group before, but i dig it… so much music out their and hard to keep on top of all that is going on.. my only criticism is just how static the rhythm is.. but this static type rhythm defines most popular music at this point in many cultures, but especially western culture.. they are swinging the rhythm though, as opposed to a lot of metal where it is played straight 8th and not swung… swing is the basis for rhythm and blues and jazz of course… a lot of pop music got away from these types of grooves into more militaristic sounding rhythms – straight 8th, 16ths and etc – machine like… this group is definitely jazz influenced, but also techno pop, so an interesting hybrid… thanks for sharing!

Speaking of bread (or its precursors), I’ve for years been buying wheat and rye “berries” and sprouting them. The end result is quite nutritious and mildly sweet, and the berries if kept dry last for years. I’ve sprouted lentils also, which gives them an appealing tang.
I’m not suggesting that one live on the above exclusively, but it seems sensible to me to build up a surplus of long-lasting, healthy food. Even during periods of general affluence, food that’s as close to unadulterated as possible has value.

In 2003 Malaysia introduced foreign exchange controls. I recall sitting and listening to a BBC report how damaging this was going to be to Malaysia and how certain the “experts” were that this would sink them. Well it was about a year or so later that I noticed that Malaysia was just fine. That was another one of those “calibration points” for me with respect who is BS-ing who.

On the topic of Malaysia: Unlike Singapore, which under the late Lee Kuan Yew managed to play both sides to their own benefit, Malaysia never escaped the yoke of Anglo imperialism.

(I am not Malaysian, nor have I been there, but I’m curious about something I have learned online, so for what it’s worth) it has got me thinking:
Visiting the Wikipedia article for the Malaysian/Indonesian Latin alphabets, one thing I noticed was that, while both languages (or one language?) have a degree of consistency between spelling and pronunciation not seen in English, the names of the Latin letters are pronounced differently; in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore the letter names for A, B, C,… are pronounced as e, bi, si… (the English way) whereas Indonesia opts for a, be, ce… (any other European language’s way).
Who made the decision to name the letters the English way, and why? Does this continued Anglo imperialism have a hand in it?

I only found that brass group between that post and the previous one as I was trying to recharge my battery.
…and sometimes much less weird music too such as the album “Christian McBride & Inside Straight – Live at the Village Vanguard (2021)” (in my opinon an extremely nice jazz album) which is likely already well known to James and other jazz people here. Maybe the album “Steve Moore – Gone World (2021)” is also a “non-weird” example. It’s not jazz but some sort of relaxing electronic music (everything is called “dance” and I never do), and not the same Steve Moore as all those other Steve Moore’s. This Steve Moore sometimes reminds me of Kenji Kawai who probably sounds very different to other people (I like a lot of odd and not so odd Japanese music too but have trouble remembering names & songs (for anything anywhere)).

People might these days be more used to highly structured and manicured versions of the “database” view of things (a heap of small parts linked and shifting dynamically on demand) and not the older more “flat file” kind of place such as this bar (more like a written page and essentially one giant “flat file” even if divided into chunks).
There’s no real right and wrong, do what makes sense to you. Scrolling back and forth is needed sometimes.
One suggestion is to write your reply elsewhere like in a plain text document (“notepad”) when you think you have something you want to say and then read on (or copy it here and preview it before posting if you can’t wait). A copy of the timestamp of the comment or a quick quote of what you’re talking about or responding to can be helpful if it is something very specific or a reply.
For example as you can see sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t 🙂

Ivermectin cures covid 19 and HCQ was quite effective against it too. 1. Your perception of my preconceptions about China and Russia, like so many here, is simply wrong. I simply am not ready yet to trust them, that’s all. I have grave doubts – doubts not solid opinions – about China, and guarded admiration for Russia. Have been a fan of Putin for a long time now, indeed he is the only politician in the world I have positive feelings for and have regarded many of his speeches since the early 2000’s as the best of any politician in generations. And I still feel that way. And I greatly appreciate karlof1’s posts but am not fully on board with his narrative. This is not out of disrespect nor out of cliche views about Russia and China.
Let me summarize my perspective. First it’s more of an open question than a fixed view. Simply, it seems to me that there are globally coordinated series of events in play which belie the US Outlaw Empire vs the RoW narrative alone. That narrative is surely playing out, no question, as karlof1 explains often here so very well. But I just don’t happen to think it’s the only skein.
Another big theme is a general one-world technicity developing. The responses to covid including medicine suppression and mRNA-shot rapid delivery with mandates were clearly internationally coordinated. Then immediately following that the sweeping sanctions drama unfolded world wide in a matter of days following February 24th also clearly because it was long in the making on both sides and thus internationally coordinated. This is why I don’t find terms like America, Russia and China as clear as they used to be.
What you say about the evils of America sounds about right to me. Certainly it’s been my working assumption for decades now. However, I don’t think ‘America’ is ‘America’ any more. And if you’re talking about the American elites I’m not sure if they are all Americans or indeed anything else. They are into a new para nation-state world. And they are in all major polities including for sure China, possibly not so much Russia.
The clear world wide thrust towards authoritianism/totalitarianism is alarming. All developed nations have recently announced they are looking into digital currencies, digital ID’s, social credit. And the WHO and UN just announced vaccine passports may be mandatory for all world travel which, if ratified, means we will finally have a centralized world government in the making. Probably climate will be next requiring global taxation (without representation).
This is NOT only the work of the US Empire is it since China is front and center in all WHO stuff as is the RoW. This is why I’m not on board with the US Empire being the only evil in the mix. I find the narrative too simplistic but am not against the sentiment.
Sincerely, I think many of us are trapped by habit and custom in old nation-state thinking, since we all grew up in such polities, so that when I express doubts or questions about the ‘globalista’ agenda you think I am backing the US against the RoW and thus some sort of retarded MSM regugitating US-loving troll. That’s not where am coming from in the slightest.
Lastly, am not trying to push my view on others, merely raising doubts and questions. So I think those who feel disgusted or threatened by such questions may be having doubts themselves about their own views. Or maybe have overly rigid views which feel hostile to differing views. Some of these issues are difficult and no doubt I lack expressive powers so have been misleading, hence the irritation, but also some need to check their own attitudes. There really is no reason to get so upset by someone’s post except something one is carrying around oneself is getting its buttons pushed. Examine those buttons. Always valuable lessons in doing that.
I believe most of us should be having more doubts about their views generally right now. If there is one thing most could agree on here, it is that these are not easy times to read. Alot about the recent covid business, which you say is over but I don’t think so yet given what’s happening with rapidly accelerating all-cause death rates which happened starting in 2021, contains no end of contradictions and loose ends which I won’t go into. Many, including many Russians, feel the same about the current Ukraine operation. (Why does Russia keep supplying gas to some German armament companies for example, and many other issues that raise questions.)
The ivermectin issue I brought up (because a couple of things were published today) is not about ivermectin per se, rather about internationally coordinated government corruption. How can such things be internationally coordinated? How can so many nations come to the same false conclusions and instigate similar harmful practices? This is not about medicine or science but politics and what is says about nation states. Mexico City did a large ivermectin study in the fall of 2020 and got very favorable results. And yet the doctors here have not been told to prescribe it. Why not? No press coverage about the issue at all (but then journalists get killed here a lot so…) Is it international pressure/collusion? Or what? We don’t know. There are so many things like this on so many fronts where we just don’t know. I envy those of you with such clear, solid opinions. Sorry, I’m just not there yet. Too many unknowns and variables. (Don’t you agree?)
Somebody above criticizing my views is projecting that I am totally concerned about America as if America is the civilization. No, I mean Western civilization in todo of which America is a leading polity right now but certainly not the only one. I’m talking the disappearence of common law (and it’s near equivalents in Grund Gesetz and Code Napoleon). Sovereignty. Privacy. Private property possibly. Possessions possibly. Freedom of religion possibly. I’m talking the end of Christianity-based common culture in the West. The American Republic fell with JFK long ago but it only became blatantly obvious with the 2020 election and the Jan 6th false flag ‘insurrection.’ It’s most likely a good thing that a phony Republic falls, but that Republic is just a political vehicle for a population to live together within. Can that population fashion a better polity together? Or will what comes after be much, much worse? And of course where goes America there goes most of Western Europe? Are they post republics or kingdoms (aka nation states)? My concern is about people not US Empire.
Putin says the Europeans are all vassal states to the Big Dog America. I think that’s a fair take. Certainly de facto if not de jure. So the fall of America is a big deal because it does – I believe – involve the fall of Western civilization as such.
That is no small matter. But my concern is not out of jingoistic loyalty to a Republic I feel has been fake for decades now. If that is what you are imagining you are entirely wrong. If you think I hate Russia because they are anti-capitalist communists or some such you are wrong. I regard both capitalism and communism as two-bit materialist phony pseudo-scientific and largely Jewish conceptual overlays over badly run materialist-based modern societies. I couldn’t care less about either. I only care about people and cultures.
To my mind Russia is the only European/Western polity still standing as such in any clear and forthright way. If I were younger I’d move there in a heartbeat though really I should visit first! China’s size and centralized form of government gives me pause but I don’t pretend to know enough about it to have a formed opinion. I admire the roots of their culture greatly but have no feel for the modern country. I don’t like how they are so tight with UN and WHO et alia because I don’t like those organizations in principle and think they do more harm than good especially given how tight they are with woke ideology, WEF, the Green Agenda, 2030 and all that (IMO) garbage. This opinion has nothing to do with the US. It’s just a personal opinion about supranational unelected bodies. For the same exact reason I believe the EU does more harm than good.

Yes. Disagreeing with a a persons opinions, theme or constant slants/personal biases is not about disrespect. It’s about straight forward disagreement and saying so. They talk to each other, urban planners, architects, govt bureaucrats at symposiums, conferences, trade fares whatever – they read the same academic papers, they share with each other and then adopt what is known as best practice. Those ” practices” are then advised to Govt depts ( Ministers/Secretaries) and thne and enshrined as new Laws and Regulations are written to adopt those practices in each nations – with slight nuances for local conditions/values.
So take Public Health the world over and research how that works. It is not a conspiracy, it’s best practices shared among professionals the world over. Best practice includes looking at and adopting Guidelines and Recommendations put out by the top tier / UN bodies, eg the WHO.
Nations do their own due diligence and checks, they consider global advice and then develop, regularly revise and test their own MANUALS for a National Response to Pandemic Procedures …. all under the Govts of the day … but partisan guff of which party is in power rarely gets involved at this level of Govt Public Service levels.
Politicians do not have a clue to they take the professional advice usually, maybe have a inquiry but typically all Govts sign off on what the professional highly trained experts who are informed by Global Best practice suggest they do … IT is not a conspiracy. It is simply how things work on every subject overseen by Govts .. from schooling to roads, to fisheries, to mining practices to forestry to health care.
When as it eventually happens some crisis arises and the news media and special interests are all over an issue then and only then do the politicians get seriously involved – but they do not have clue they’re being advised what to say and told what the problem is by the “bureaucrats” in their dept. The people who WROTE the Manual of how to do things best.
It truly is NOT a Conspiracy of extreme authoritarianism/totalitarianism that Ivermectin was not written into The Manual – National Response to Pandemic Procedures for treating Viral Pandemics Globally …. it simply never reached the High Bar Set in the 5-10 years before in regard to the accepted consensus professional expert opinion of what was effective as a national response tool …. that is all there is too it.
For Ivermectin to be approved for a medical treatment is complicated … they have to go through all kinds of high bars for approval to use it ina treatment for a new/different condition or purpose. Twitter and Trump are not part of this approval process in any nation. Each nation has it’s set procedures. The WHO nor the CDC cannot just tell nations Govts to use it for covid out of the blue either. That is not the Process to follow. I think your ‘it’s not a conspiracy’ argument is well made and I agree with much of it in general. However, I think the extremely unusual (quarantining the healthy) and almost uniform covid response was not the result of many independent governments and Health Boards and suchlike as you describe. Within a matter of weeks the whole western world was doing the same thing pretty much and in questionable ways too many to get into here, though one small example: big box stores open, small businesses and churches closed. Endless little things like that.
As to ivermectin and HCQ, they did not at first come from Twitter jackasses so your dwelling on that straw man lessened the impact of your argument. (Luckily I could rise above it!) HCQ was first pushed as an emergency lifesaver by a French epidemiologist widely touted as Europe’s senior in that field, then by clinicians who had good results in hospitals who were then ostracized and ridiculed. Ivermectin came many months later but quickly several large studies were done with very promising results but then in the US they would fire doctors for prescribing it, order pharmacies not to fill the orders even though it is not a drug and has zero side effects and hundreds of millions of doses have been administered and several studies with thousands had excellent results specificially with covid infections over which it has rapid, sometimes miraculous-seeming results. It was suppressed deliberately and again nearly everywhere in the world all at once which is suspicious.
So I’m sorry, not persuaded. I suspect the goal was to vaccinate so no alternatives were acceptable since otherwise they couldn’t get the emergency use status they needed to be able to push them as the only answer to this deadly world wide pandemic and moreover to get the governments in EVERY country to agree to pay for them which EVERY government did.
But again, I think you made your argument pretty well and generally explains how things work better than the typical conspiracy argument. We can just agree to disagree.
Although it sounds otherwise I don’t actually favor the conspiracy argument myself but it does seem to me like these big things of late coming down SO rapidly AND world wide smacks of pre-planning and therefore coordination. That said I don’t personally try to guess who and what exactly and don’t spend time trying to find out. I also don’t use Twitter or FB or watch TV or read US newspapers though I do like some of Tucker C’s opening monologues. He’s a real American journalist at this point, moreover still in mainstream space, a rare combination these days.
My main other concern is the push for digital currencies, ID’s, social credit etc. I don’t think they are compatible with our previous nation states so the reset business is a very real thing which is going to happen – indeed is already happening – but because it is not being debated and our input is not invited I cannot believe it is a good thing even though there is little question that some sort of reset has to happen. Even if this is following the Chinese model which many here believe is benign and even the most advanced in the world, why the subterfuge? Why the mystery? Why no detailed discussions? Doesn’t sit right.
Related to this concern is the degree to which this seeming techno-fascist revolution is truly world wide. All sides, it seems, are on board even though ostensibly the US-West versus RoW conflict is a geopolitical techtonic shift unlike anything seen since the Great War of 1914-48.
A little strange…..if more details about the techno-political front were forthcoming it would help. But they are not.
If had to guess would say it looks like first there is bifurcation so the West splits from Central and Eastern Eurasia + allies including financial system, supply chains, internet, cultures, everything. This will take a few years presumably.
Then after the split there will be some sort of world wide digital system administered differently in different zones but probably controlled by a new and probably hidden world wide elite who will corrupt the system ab initio just like happened in the West with the world order we were in until recently but now needs to include all developed nations not just the first bunch mainly in the West. But I definitely hope this is not what happens and the Russia-China axis has a plan to ensure it does not and we have a new and better world order.
But there is no substantive information so this can only be a hope at this point, nothing more. Words do not cook rice and there aren’t hardly any words about the techno stuff yet, just very vague announcements about tests being made and weird hints from weird people in the WEF and such…
