Open (Not Ukraine) Thread 2022-184
After a recent system move Typepad, the hosting system this blog is running on, continues to have problems.
When you post a comment and get an Error 503 consider that your comment has in fact been posted. Wait a moment and reload the page to see if it is there. Do not post the same comment again or it will show up as a double (triple) post.
There are also some back-end problems that make it difficult for me to post and administer the blog.
There will be an additional maintenance period on Saturday to clean up the mess:
Typepad will be conducting further maintenance this coming weekend to address lingering issues as part of the continued migration to the new data center. During a window from 9:30 pm U.S. Eastern Time on Saturday, October 29 (01:30 UTC on Sunday, October 30) to 9:30 am U.S. Eastern Time on Sunday, October 30 (13:30 UTC on Sunday, October 30), there may be periods where Typepad blogs are down.

But what does this mean?
How can Russia and China have “their own selfish reasons” unless that ‘selfishness’ be founded on a conscious consensus?
Perhaps you should look up what selfish means:
(of a person, action, or motive) lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one’s own personal profit or pleasure.
For nations – substitute “personal” with “national”.
This is what multi-polarity means: every nation acts according to its national self-interest [i.e. selfishness] in coexistence, hopefully harmony, with others. Multi-polarity certainly is not altruism – the opposite of selfishness, and selfishness without being taken to an extreme is a part of the spectrum of human behavior.
In which case CC members accumulating billion dollar fortunes (names please) would presumably accord with this consensus. Perhaps you are referring not to the two nations but to their ruling classes?
China’s parliament has about 100 billionaires [yuan as of 2017] – cnbc
There have been rumors for years about the fortunes of CPC central committee members; the above public evidence of CPC lower committee members shows clearly that these rumors are not unfounded. Furthermore, any fortunes held by lower committee members are certainly understated – we also have seen numerous public examples of corruption successfully prosecuted by the government of China revealing 9 digits of malfeasance. And the proceeds of malfeasance are ALWAYS hidden.
You can quibble if you want – the evidence is 100% clear as are the Lamborghinis and Ferraris of the scions I referenced to start with.
The ‘anti-mammon crusade’ on which the Communist Party of China may or may not be engaged could accord very easily with the actual best interests of the people of China, and indeed of the rest of the world, insofar as its immediate aim would be, that old socialist object, the ending of capitalism and the inauguration of a system in which production is for use rather than to lay profits at mammon’s feet.
You are injecting your own desires into objective analysis here. China reined in its financial sector as exemplified by the killing of the ANT IPO not for “anti-Mammon” purposes, but because the CPC seeks to keep control over its economy and government for its own purposes.
Are those purposes legitimate? At the moment, I would agree they are. However, legitimate purposes today does not mean legitimate purposes tomorrow – once again, I reference the USSR and its descent into bureaucratic Kafka economic hell.
Let us not forget that the original goal of the United States’ Founding Fathers was separation of powers precisely because they believed that unitary power under a feudal monarch would inevitably lead to abuse.
We have one example of bureaucratic power leading to abuse – time will tell if the CPC and China become a counter example, but to presume otherwise before this actually happens with the 3rd and 4th generation leaders, is naive.
It is arrogance of a particularly unsympathetic kind to hold that there is no alternative to capitalism and that the core belief of a century old party with millions of members is nonsense.
The reality is that neither our species nor the planet which is our home can survive many more decades of capitalism unrestrained and beyond social control (as it must be). And that the ending of capitalism is the pre-condition of a future.
Yet again, you presume your views on what I am saying as I made ZERO references to government types or modes.
My specific view stated is that ALL government types and modes are inevitably corrupted over time by psycho- and socio-paths. Capitalism is no different than Communism or Leninism or whatever.
China may or may not be an extraordinarily intrusive state, though how anyone can conceive of it being as intrusive as the United States which arrogates the power to dictate far beyond its own borders, is curious. In relative terms China is a remarkably unintrusive state, indeed it intrudes less in several of its own provinces, Taiwan, Tibet and Xinkiang, for example than the NED and the CIA do.
You are utterly not credible, and it is also quite clear you have never visited China.
For example: you literally cannot conduct any economic activity via cash in pretty much all of urban China today – it must be conducted via electronic payments via app. These apps in turn are 100% data collection vehicles for the government, with the results expressed as a social score – and this social score in turn has literal impact like being unable to perform other economic activities even if armed with said electronic payments.
I cannot see how anyone with an ounce of integrity can consider the above to not be more intrusive, at a personal level, than anywhere else in the world. And note this activity is financial – it is the bankster’s wettest dream to literally force everyone onto a controlled platform. The most powerful Western equivalent is Visa: 27% of Western transactions are credit card and Visa cards constitute a little over half of the overall credit transactions. So Visa is only ~14% of all transactions by volume in the US vs. literally 100% in the urban areas of China. Who is the bigger bankster?
Nor am I the least bit convinced by your conflation of sovereign actions/policy by the United States vs. personal freedoms of Americans.
But you were referring to public health measures. Every government has the duty to protect the public from epidemics exarcerbated by the selfish actions of those who refuse to abide by rules adopted by consensus.
In the case of Covid the strategy of quarantining those afflicted is ancient. It is one of the foundations of government. It was generally recognised, by all governments and societies, that Covid required governments to take precisely those measures that China did take. The problem was that most governments did not dare to do so thoroughly: instead of acting with despatch and effectiveness, they went through the motions. They pretended to be doing their duty while sacrificing millions of people to disease rather than offend powerful private economic interests. They covered up their failures by pretending that they were acting on scientific advice (they opposed the use of masks, because they could find none. Then they agreed that the ways to stop an airborne virus included mask wearing. The list of the stupidities of governments over Covid is endless. History will regard it as one of the worst moments in capitalism’s decline.
Whether China’s zero Covid campaign will continue to succeed-in the face of international slovenliness- is unknown. But these things we do know: firstly the Chinese government did what needed to be done, and what posterity will wonder that our own governments did not do. And, secondly, the population of China, which exceeds that of many continents, has suffered only about 5000 Covid mortalities. New York city alone exceeded that long ago.
I have zero interest in debating lockdowns; even Johns Hopkins has come out with meta-research showing that lockdowns have been a net negative in every sense of the word.
My mention of the COVID lockdowns in China was purely to illustrate just how much power the CPC has over its own population – more than the US, more than EU bureaucrats, more than any other government in the entire world because substantive portions of the populations of all of these areas rebelled against these policies.
And I further noted that this policy is inane because new sources of COVID infections would FOREVER be coming into China, unless China instituted a Tokugawa Shogunate style full isolation from the rest of the world – something literally impossible with the enormous amount of imports and exports which China conducts.
So you can believe Chinese statistics if you want – which are literally historically unreliable as a class. I even agree with you that the CPC has some fiduciary belief in why it is adhering to this policy as it has demonstrated in other areas.
But it is equally nonsense to believe that China isn’t at least partly adhering to this policy as both a demonstration of its power and a refusal to admit error/defeat – both of which have also been demonstrated in other areas.

A tour-de-force on COVID-19 mRNA “Vaccines”
https://sonar21.com/is-the-covid-vaccine-killing-people/
“A question about the lethality of the Covid vaccine from one friend elicited a terrific, coherent explanation and review of the pertinent literature on Covid from my other friend.
We knew within the first two months of the pandemic being declared that the spike protein was cytotoxic, meaning it kills mammalian cells that it comes into contact with en vivo. In fact, SARS-Cov2 the virus itself, aside from the spike protein on its exterior was virtually inert and harmless. The disease we know as COVID-19 and all its corresponding symptoms resulting from infection and viral replication of SARS-Cov2, is caused in its entirety from the spike protein. Spike causes the symptoms, Spike causes the damage. But like all other viral infections, its severity was based on viral load and its duration was days to weeks, depending on how fast a persons T macrophage cells got on top of it.
T macrophage cells are the immune cells that go around and eat infected or cancerous cells or any cell not doing its job. Those T-mac cells then excrete tiny bits of virus, protien chains and amino acids that are not native to the body, as waste. Those foreign protein chains (virus bits) are what’s called antibodies and they are hoovered up by a different kind of T cell commonly refered to as Memory T-cells. Their job is to Imprint those unique virus bits, so that if they are ever encountered again in the future, the body immediately rallies an army of T Macrophages and sends them to the site where the detection happened and they kill everything. AKA a cytokine storm.
SARS-Cov2 Is made up of some 70 odd unique protein sequences one of which is spike, and each sequence made up of even more unique amino acid chains. So throughout the 70 year history of vaccineology, the standard process has always been to find a unique viral protein that is completely harmless and non toxic, replicate it by the trillions and attach them to inert or dead OLD virus, something harmless that only affects donkeys for instance.
This time, the protein that they picked out of the 70 possible, was the spike. They chose the only viral protein that was known to be cytotoxic at the time. Why? Who fucking knows, but after 70 years of making vaccines using non-cytotoxic protiens, I’d really like to know.
So this MRNA vaccine operated differently, It is more akin to a gene therapy than a vaccine because it doesn’t train your immune cells on dummy viruses, It re-writes the DNA of your Memory T-cells and T macrophage cells, and turns them into spike factories. So now rather than getting covid and having an ever decreasing amount of spike doing damage as your T cells kill the infection, you have your entire immune systems cells cranking out spike 24/7 until they litterally explode. But often they get to reproduce beforehand so there are new zombie T-cells cranking out spike because MRNA is a gene therapy not a vaccine. Its not just inter-generational in regards to your T-cells, Its inter-generational period.
Here is Naomi Wolf’s publication–she’s had 1300 data scientists volunteer to analyze the 80k+ pages of Pfizer saftey trial data that the federal judge ordered released. Her team has been cranking out amazing papers on the data as it comes in, the court order allowed Pfizer to break it up into 4 data dumps over 9 months, so they’ve been able to get information out to the public within weeks of each new dump. Nov 1st is the last data dump so everything you’ll see there is literally breaking news because it is research on data never seen by anyone other than Pfizer and the scumbags at the FDA.
Naomi is no slouch either. Dr. Naomi Wolf is a 2x international bestselling author, NYT columnist, and professor; she is a graduate of Yale University and received a doctorate from Oxford.

Next is Steve Kirsch, current VC and former high tech serial entrepreneur, inventor of the optical mouse and an engineer with two degrees from MIT. He is double vaxxed an injured from it which made him and 4 other MIT engineering alums start analyzing the VAERS data. Which isn’t the best considering the Harvard study commissioned by the FDA on the effectiveness of its VAERS system showed VAERS captured a hair over 1% of the actual adverse events data, Harvard concluded the study with recommendations on how to fix the system, but the FDA and its Pharma paymasters didn’t think that was a good idea so the FDA declined. With that in mind, Steve and his shitty VAERS data is showing a rate of 26 permanently injured and 7 dead for every 100 MRNA shots.
“The CDC claims VAERS is simply over reported, but cites no evidence. The evidence shows that VAERS is under reported by 5.4X. For example, the VAERS data shows that acute cardiac failure is elevated in the COVID vaccines by 475X compared to other vaccines. Once we correct using the 5.4X factor, we get a 2,565X higher fatality rate for these vaccines. How could that be “safe”? Nobody will explain that.”
Steve now has released hundreds of articles and papers on his and others analysis, which can be found here.

Jessica Rose has a PhD in data science from Harvard and she’s been doing the analysis on the Israeli, DOD and Moderna data. She is an all around good person, very funny but with an extremely annoying laugh. Her papers, most of which have now been peer reviewed for whatever thats worth now adays, and articles she published going over her analysis can be found here.

And With that ladies and gentleman, I’ve exhausted my brain’s ability to stay on a singular train of thought. So I hope this supplemental information will be helpful in your conversations and capital allocations.
I’d like to end with the question–what would a country with 4% of its workforce soon to be or already disabled, look like? What are the 2nd and 3rd order effects of something like that?
Think… 4% of the G-7 work force disabled… 26 permanently injured and 7 dead for every 100 MRNA shots….. Celene Dion’s singing career ended… Mike Tyson now in a wheel chair…
When… Ivermectin…. Chloroquine… stop COVID in it’s tracks… administered early…
Belarus… chose to treat COVID like the flu…. it ran through the population… their Soviet created, maintained, public health system coped…. now they have herd immunity… no longer track it…
