Scorpion, you can choose whether or not to download media to your phone. Just go (top left) to settings>auto media download and make your choice.
In addition, it is possible, in the same tab, to choose how long you want to keep the media in memory.

Looks like I missed the main story. In early morning Asian trading the pound bottomed out at $1.03. Of course anything that smacks of genuine price discovery is slapped down quick. Stock markets bad. Bond markets worse. Is this the crash? We wait.

You seem to throw everything into your overarching worldview that the dark ages were truly unspeakably bad.
I am not so sure and have read that the dark ages are somewhat of a misnomer.
Culture and technology are not the same. You can have amazing and refined technology as we have today and be suffering under a cataclysmic dearth of culture.
As a Hegelian, I think human history mirrors the advancing of spirit towards absolute mind.
For instance, will we lose the knowledge that surgical tools need to be cleaned before operating in the future? No, we will not.
So I think it is a falsity to say that high-culture appears in a flash under the right conditions and then can disappear again for centuries, only to reappear in, say, China.you need to first differentiate between culture and technology and understand that a healthy combination of the two is probably best.
So I am largely in disagreement with you, especially when it comes to Aquinas who I feel is very important for Catholics to read today with regards to understanding Catholicism in the world.

I can’t even find a single estimate of the number of Ukrainian tanks involved.

It was years ago that I read a paperback history of the Kursk Salient. Memory is that the title of the book was something along the lines of “The Tigers are Burning”. The reference was specifically to the Porsche-designed Konig-Tigers. Problem with that machine was that the frontal armor was so thick that it did not feature a frontal-mounted machine-gun. That design flaw made it vulnerable to infantry attacks, mostly by sapper engineers who were dug in deep in specially designed foxholes. They emerged as the Tigers were passing by.

Up front. I despise the Vatican and all it stands for…with an exception. Under the off and on broad umbrella of “Holy Mother Church”, there have been over the ages a number of truly spiritually infused individuals: Examples being St. Francis of Assisi; St. Teresa of Avila, Hildegard of Bingen; just possibly Joan of Arc and in more modern times Teilhard de Chardin and Thomas Moore.
With that said, there was a deliberate destruction by aggressive Catholicism of all forms of natural religion, which was the province of people who lived closed to the land, the “Pagani” as urban Romans called them.
