My guess is that Russia will establish suzerainty over everything east of the Dneiper River. They will rebuild Donetsk and Lugansk, but won’t foot the bill to repair much of the the rest, which will act as a buffer zone and ‘half-way house’ for its population, some of whom will eventually be admitted to the western republics. The large eastern half will be left for the West to try to rebuild (which they cannot really afford). It will turn into a East and West Germany scenario, but with inverted longitudinal geography.
The whole ‘West’ is simply ‘soft’ fascist. For example, the U.K. is fascist, and the U.S.A. has been fascist, beginning with the invention of the fake democracy U.S.A. Constitution, a stealth fascist document if there ever was one. Ask any American Indian. Most contrary to what everybody has been taught in fascist educational institutions, fascism is not some political-economic arrangement at all. Fascism is a social configuration of three distinct classes. There is a secret hidden master class, and a middle class, and a despised victim class. The victim class must always exist, but if it becomes over-exterminated, a war against some external society must be waged. It is really very simple. Europe is pretty much fascist too.
Fascists, the master class, must lie constantly to its middle class. It all must be very theatrical. Although I protested many U.S. wars, I came to find that it was mostly useless. For one thing, the middle class is generally in thrall to the endless lies. All fascism appears to be founded upon endless war and violence. Formerly it was directed internally against the Jews and Roma and so on. For now it’s just the Russians. Zelensky is a Jew? So what? Soros is too.
George Orwell precisely described ‘hard’ fascism in his book ‘1984’.

At first I saw him as a rabbit bouncing around looking for a hole to duck through. Watching him now, he comes across more as a wily player. I watch the interaction between him and Putin. Syria, Libya, Azerbajan, Ukraine. He has a fine sense of where Russia’s red line is.
Erdo uses nato membership, but Putin also uses Erdogan to advantage. It is interesting to watch.

I am totally with Ritter on this – leave no ground in slavery to nazis, liberate the lot. I do not see this cancer just snuffing out of its own accord, admitting defeat and submitting to a new anti fascist government.
Just as the west funded and contrived the rise of fascism in the 1930’s, then again after the ww2 via NATO up to now, they will persist even a third time if left with one centimeter of fertile ground.
It is an existential struggle for every generation and pity the country that lets down its guard. Vale Ukraine.

Nikkei Asia Reports:
Ukraine war puts Japan’s pacifist constitution in election spotlight
PM Kishida calls reform ‘urgent’ while expert warns of ripple effects in Asia

TOKYO — Debate over whether to revise Japan’s pacifist constitution is heating up as the country heads toward this Sunday’s upper house election — the first national vote since Russia upended the global security landscape by invading Ukraine.
Parties that support changing the document are likely to cross the seat threshold needed to officially initiate the discussion, according to Nikkei’s latest polling, including pro-reform opposition groups.
Last month, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said in an online broadcast that constitutional reform was “an urgent issue. … The Diet must also work to create opportunities for the public to make choices in as little time as possible.”
Japan is a rarity in that it has not amended its constitution in the 75 years since it took effect in 1947, two years after World War II. Renunciation of war, stated in Article 9, forms the heart of the document.
“The discussion of the constitution has always been from the viewpoint that Japan must not become a perpetrator,” Takeshi Inoue, a professor at Kwansei Gakuin University, explained. But he thinks global events are altering perceptions.
“Following Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine, I believe that there’s a growing awareness that if Japan’s use of force is restricted too much, Japan will become a victim,” Inoue said.
In May, a survey by public broadcaster NHK showed that 35% of respondents thought the constitution needs to be amended, while 19% said there was no need to do so and 42% could not say.

Again with this… There’s enough ammo for forever and that excluding what they’ve confiscated from Ukr and nato which is a huge amount. And more ammo can be easily manufactured too.
But it’s true that Shoigu has to be quickly replaced, Putin has nothing to do with the military strategy. They have to remove nazis top-down first. Like I’ve said many times, everything will continue as long as nato has a whole government, many other local puppets and large numbers of mercenaries in Ukr. nato doesn’t even need the regular Ukr army, that’s why they’re sending them all to 100% death. When they’ll be all dead and Ukr will have no defense, mercenaries can continue killing the Russian controlled areas and US can place a base in what will remain from Ukr, Syria style, and never leave while maintaining constant war in the area. Shoigu’s strategy has this possible outcome and he has to go away

BBC interviewed the fake president of Belarus (who still claims she won the election) who is in Poland trying to stir up trouble. Then they quoted the (former) governor of Lughansk oblast as saying that the UAF had made a ‘tactical withdrawal’ from Lisichansk to “save lives”, and that the city was in ruins anyway. Soon they will be making a tactical withdrawal from Krematorsk toward the Dniper as well, I am guessing, if the Russians keep pushing.

comparing the Russians of 2020 with General Grant in the US civil war
Quote
Given the myopic focus of the “Ukraine is winning” crowd on the alleged (and fallacious) Russian “defeat” at Kiev, I am reminded of how, during the US Civil War, Abraham Lincoln was ceaselessly frustrated with his early cadre of generals.
Much like the vast majority of current western military “experts”, Lincoln’s early generals were illogically focused on the objective of “taking Richmond” – the capital of the Confederacy. This obsession dominated the strategic focus of the Union for most of the war.
Lincoln, on the other hand – notwithstanding there is no evidence he ever read von Clausewitz – intuitively and correctly understood that it was not a city, nor any piece of territory, per se, that was the objective upon which his West Point-trained generals should focus
Rather, he repeatedly (and vainly) urged his generals to come to understand it was the destruction of Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia that constituted the only valid objective of their actions.
Fortunately, in March 1864 Lincoln finally found the general he had been looking for: Ulysses S. Grant.
Grant was given command of all Union armies, and from that point until the end of the war he made his sole focus the engagement and destruction of Lee’s army, finally trapping it in the trench lines of Petersburg, VA, where Union artillery pounded it to pieces.
It was a long and grinding campaign. Grant made numerous tactical errors and suffered inordinate casualties on multiple occasions. But his focus never varied from the objective: to destroy the enemy army. He sought every chance to engage it, and never let up once.
This has been *precisely* the Russian mentality in Ukraine. Their objective, from the very beginning, as articulated by Putin in his epic speech of February 24, 2022, was to “demilitarize” Ukraine – to destroy its army.
When the confederates were trapped in Petersburg Virginia, they resisted for 9 months then collapsed in two weeks

Erdogan
Erdogan owes his remaining in power to the Russian intelligence. They were the ones to warn him in 2016 on the imminent military coup led by the US-backed Gülen movement.

The Russian intelligence came to find out about the coup in Turkey before anyone else
Putin…personally sent a message to Erdogan
after learning of the coup from Turkish army communications, which were picked up and listened to by Russian technicians at their air base just outside Lattakia in Syria…
the move has caused a U-Turn in President Erdogan’s foreign policy towards Russia

Most of the West si asleep. Too much money. That is the simple truth. Everything too cheap, cheapest energy and other products from Russia and an army of East European slaves to work their fields and factories. In Germany a large number of medical doctors are East Europeans. They receive education for free at home then all run to Germany (since France pays them half, at most, and other countries even less). East Europeans who literally wash old Italian asses (badante) is a huge industry.
Remember when there was lockdown in whole EU, Merkel demanded slaves from Romania and they were promptly sent by their nazi president called Klaus. At that moment in Romania the same people were not allowed to work in agriculture because of lockdown. Those who were diagnosed with covid in Germany were sent back and replaced with healthy new ones. Talking about Romania, an interesting experiment took place during covid. Diagnosed people, with or without symptoms, were taken by force to hospitals or other quarantine locations and given “treatment” without their consent or without knowing what the pills are. Phones were taken away, family could not contact pacients. Some hospitals didn’t have heating during winter, others had a single toilet for 20-30 people. Some used ropes on angry pacients to keep them in bed. If they were too angry they were sedated without a medical reason and some died that way. They were not released from hospitals until two consecutive negative tests and apparently the record is over two months with no symptoms. If they died in quarantine the family could not identify the body that was sealed in a bag. Blood and dna samples were sent for study to us, uk. This lasted for almost a year. In the capital city soldiers in armored vechicles were paraded on the streets to prevent riots. Some in government proposed that police checks every apartment or house and tests each person to “remove people with covid from society” but the plan was forgotten because police did not have the means to check millions and it wasn’t exactly legal
You tell me that wasn’t part of some bioweapon study on East Europeans?

Looking at the actions of German politicians, for me the only explanation is that they are all compromised. Take Northstream 2. Even before the war, our green leaders were vehemently opposed to it. They said that instead of getting gas directly from western Siberia to Germany, it would be much better to ship it through southern Europe first, and through one of the most corrupted countries in Europe, and pay them billions in transit fees. How could this ever be in the interest of Germany?
So either these politicians are stupid, or they get money for it, or they are politically pressured. Stupidity I rule out.
Americans have information about all of us. They have all the NSA archives of all our social media activities, and whatever else information they collect from our electronic devices. They oppose Huawei not because the Chinese could collect data about us (which they may want), but because Huawei could block NSA listening on us. And the Americans were the first plundering the Stasi archives. And if there were a person they would not find any compromat about, Americans would make sure this person would never get into an important political position.

On Shoigu and military plans. I gather he is fully aware of the old maxim that plan is lucky to survive the first encounter with the enemy.
The Russian forces and their allies seem to possess the flexibility to shapeshift to accommodate the daily exigencies. Good luck to them. Talk of Shoigu’s demise are entirely premature and seem to lack any links – I guess they are trolls manipulating expectations.
The Russian liberation seems to be progressing well and they are only a few kilometers away from the original fortified lines of 2015. I still expect there will be a tipping point to the rout unless it has already arrived.

Yes, Russia and Putin are legalistic and diplomatic and ultimately pursuing a political settlement.
As a responsible party triggering nuclear war is something they are trying to avoid.
I also think the feint, recon by force, fixing operation was far more successful than I initially gave it credit for.
My thought, initially, was they should have gone into Ukraine in a more concentrated manner, fewer entry points, and focused straight away on Donbass.

From the word “go”, the German MSM went into anti-Russian overdrive. The reporting in the most serious TV and radio stations has went down to the level of gutter press, 95 % of what is being spouted by Ukrainian officials, not to mention Putin, is being re-produced as fact, while anything the Russians say is either lie or “cannot be verified by independent sources. Within days, the main Russian channels (and I honestly have no clue how few people actually saw them) like RT Germany were being barred from German TV/internet, certain videos on youtube regarding the war before 2022 where closed. There is a blog laying into the media policies in Germany and explaining what goes wrong …
https://publikumskonferenz.de/blog/
… but how many read that is unknown. Likewise, independent reporters like Alina Lipp get ostracized, have their German bank accounts closed and whatnot.
On the other side, the main German news broadcast Tagesschau, within the last 3 months, has 1.400+ programm hits for Selenskij, including 500+ videos. The reporting is just snippets of half-truths and half-facts, of late no mentions of any attacks on the Donbass, who, going by German TV, seemingly never existed before 2022 and whose people are seemingly all sad Ukrainians being swallowed up by the Russian empire, which follow Putin`s maniacal plans of a Great Russia. It is basic propaganda … and by now, to save face, they can`t simply stop and get back to normal journalistic work. And that is what the German public is being fed for the best part of 4 months now. You get the feeling the modern day average German only becomes interested in things when it hits his/her pocket …
And just don`t get me going on German politicians. I need to find my Men in Black DVD and check whether I can find any of their faces on that alien-monitor-wall at the MIB HQ. As the author Tucholski once wrote: “Never underestimate the power of stupid people who are of the same opinion.” If I look at the “big” countries of western Europe, only Macron seems (sic!) to be someone that you could call a diplomat of some standing. The rest are just people well equipped for some federal state post or minor ministry, but not global politics. Perfect marionettes

Engels said of them “it is like mixing fire and water, ie something that is absolutely impossible to reconcile.” That is, workers against capitalists, they can never be united, they have completely opposite interests.

I’m sure you’re wrong about the UK not wanting to shoot as Russia, the crew of the Moskva and the other RF ships rumoured to have been hit by anti-ship missiles would likely also disagree.
Perhaps you mean the UK doesn’t want to be seen to shoot at RF?

Retard Borell wants to cut energy supply from Russia by 90% this year, “the price of protecting our democracies”. He said that the day gas jumped to $1700, in summer! This winter EU will probably be saved by a new lockdown, a much longer one, but next year, without cheap energy and resources, it won’t work anymore.
Like the great Mike Tyson said “everybody got a plan until punched in the mouth”

Looking at the actions of German politicians, for me the only explanation is that they are all compromised. …
So either these politicians are stupid, or they get money for it, or they are politically pressured. Stupidity I rule out.
Americans have information about all of us. They have all the NSA archives of all our social media activities, and whatever else information they collect from our electronic devices. … And if there were a person they would not find any compromat about, Americans would make sure this person would never get into an important political position.
Posted by: Rüdiger | Jul 4 2022 8:43 utc | 278

An excellent comment. Yes, compromised, if only that, in many cases, they owe their entire political career to sponsors and patrons who have always dictated their stance, a class of political careerist who could never have hoped to advance without a hand from their friends in Langley. The ‘soft’ compromise of dreadful mediocrity.
Same for the media / journalism class.

Thanks for your post. And for referencing that excellent article about the attack on Russia in 1941. https://www.unz.com/article/barbarossa-suvorovs-revisionism-goes-mainstream/
Many eminently quotable passages but this one stood out because we see the same dynamic on this board and similar extremist ‘Putin Angel Anglo Saxon Devil’ polemic.
” It is not difficult to guess the motive for McMeekin’s ostentatious contempt of Suvorov. Suvorov has crossed the line by suggesting that Barbarossa saved Europe from complete sovietization. Although he expresses no sympathy for Hitler, Suvorov agrees with him that, if he had not attacked first, “Europe was lost.” Suvorov has committed an unforgivable sin. It is an untouchable cornerstone of both Western and Russian historiography that Hitler is the embodiment of absolute Evil, and that no good whatsoever could ever have come from him. And so academic historians of the Eastern Front are expected to display their good manners by shunning Suvorov, and by not asking: What if Hitler had not attacked first? They must not suggest that Hitler ever told the truth, or that his military commanders were wrongfully hanged.”It is not difficult to guess the motive for McMeekin’s ostentatious contempt of Suvorov. They must not suggest that Hitler ever told the truth, or that his military commanders were wrongfully hanged.

The understandable horror generated by atrocity propaganda, much of it developed after the war, effectively prevents to this day any objective or at least dispassionate, analysis of various key dynamics in history many of which are still in play today and in these discussions.
In order to insist that Nazis are irredeemably evil no narrative mentioning concern about communist regime atrocities or future intentions (like invading all of Europe) can be allowed to go without correction, often with a little ad hominem thrown in for good measure.
Given the willingness to ignore clear evidence and cleave to clearly distorted conclusions by those now cheerleading the Russians and Chinese who for long have desired the destruction of the capitalist West and now seem soon likely to achieve those aims due in no small part to decades of supposedly unrelated fifth column subversion of the core polity, how can any reasonable person naively trust that their true intentions are as benignly humanitarian as they are so often characterized?
Most of us here say we are against The Empire of Lies; but I am not yet entirely convinced, based on the use of various binary, false narratives raised up as they are on the wobbly scaffolding of various Whoppers, that they are not a part of that same Empire of Lies and that We the People, as has been usually the case in such matters throughout hustiry, are not yet again being played.
And if you bring it up, you can expect to be put on a list, accused of bad faith and so forth, perpetuating the crude, binary dynamic that perpetuates war in all its many overt and subtle forms, all those ways which undermine simple, good, true peace.
That said, am looking forward to Putins explanation of how he sees the new polycentric world order working in practice. He may not be a Saint but he still might be a truly great world statesman leading us out of trenches we have all been mired in since long before 1913….

NemesisCalling @163: “But you must understand: the Nazis of Germany, the NSDAP, were not motivated entirely by Russophobia.”
But you must understand: the Nazis absolutely were motivated by Russophobia… well, Sovietphobia, to be precise. The Nazis’ Jewphobia? That was just because the Jews were secretly conspiring with the Bolsheviks, right? What about the Nazis’ gayphobia and gypsiephobia? That was just because the Bolsheviks were sympathetic to those kinds of disempowered minorities, and whatever the Bolsheviks defended must be opposed.
But then what about the beer parties? The fetish for spiffy uniforms? The fixation on Wagnerian mythologies? That was just marketing. I have explained where fascism, including Nazism, comes from here on the MoA fora many times but you’ve clearly not been paying attention. Fascism is always a product of big business using its immense control in society (mass media, education, the arts, sports, and who gets seen and heard) to manufacture artificial “grass roots” movements to destroy working class organization, and in the last century the most threatening working class organization on the planet to big business was by far the Soviet Union.
Fascist organizations in other parts of the world will rely upon different mythologies and have different details in their marketing campaigns (LGBTQWERTY+ in the USA and EU, just to see how weird that marketing can get) but those details are irrelevant. Despite the differing details fascists will always just be zombie hordes remote controlled by elite business interests. You can ague all you want about those details and what particularly motivates specific individuals in the various zombie hordes, but that is pointless. It is all just marketing that the elites have no intention of ever delivering on, or even ability to deliver on (nobody in western Europe will ever have the gender of panda, regardless of the promises from authoritative-sounding talking heads and academics with prosthetic big foreheads).
Any “Nazi™” branded fascist artificial movement will by historic necessity have Sovietphobia as its central tenet. It is just a fortunate coincidence for the imperial elites producing the current episode of Nazism that most people in the West are too brain damaged (excessive cerebral laundering) to tell the difference between Russians and Soviets.

Disraeli used to say “The palace is not sage when the cottage is not happy”. – and we live in a pre-revolutionary situation. The water is boiling and the politico-media elite is the frog.
The dynamic is inexorable – next Monday Nordstream 1 goes offline – soon major process industries will shut down and paper, glass, aluminium, steel, chemicals will be powering down
The furloughing of workers will begin and German has already reported its first trade deficit since 1991……….it is German trade surpluses and cheap energy from Russia which give the Euro value.
If both are lost the ECB will need to raise interest rates to prevent inflation accelerating……..and property and Club Med states will implode…….EU has wiped out farmers in Italy and elsewhere and made EU a food importer……..noit just energy but food and materiel
The future is pre-baked

Interesting point. Are you saying that 1930’s Germany – usually presented as the prime example of fascism in action I believe though they called it ‘national socialism’ – did not greatly elevate German working class? I thought they did very well with higher pay, homes, cars, paid vacations etc.
Second: are you saying that soviet communism was all benign and that if many in Europe felt they were going to be conquered by it that instead of fighting the working classes in Europe should have welcomed the take-over because Russia had shown the world how much better for the working classes their regimes were (barring a few minor glitches like famine and mass murder programs)?
Note: I am not advocating for one side over the other rather against those who do, painting one side as angelic and the other as demonic with anything the latter have said or done is pure evil.

I find it interesting/strange that most of the main Nazi groups in 404 were put together by Jewish oligarchs and CIA. And it seems to me that they are designed to trigger Russians and thus in turn offer a great pretext for RF domination of 404 at this point with the goal of ‘demilitarization and denazification.’
The West needs little justification for leading the charge against the Russians beyond just saying ‘Russia, Russia, Russia’ and ‘Zelensky = Hero of Democracy’ and ‘Putin = Totalitarian Dictator = Hitler.’ So both sides have the propaganda needs fulfilled to justify conflict. Very convenient that everyone on both sides seems to understand that although no end of insults can be thrown there won’t actually be a real war, which is why this is only a ‘special military operation.’ So domestic politics and economies can be thrown into extreme turmoil (though that hasn’t happened yet to be fair) because of this kerfuffle, but there is no actual war intended or likely.

Plus the Versailles treaty, sanctions, etc. There was Soviet-phobia all over Europe and the Nazis capitalized on it. I don’t think most people today would like to live in a second Soviet Union or Nazi Germany.

Europe is about to be engulfed by the deepest economic depression since the early 1930s. When it happens-it is happening- people should bear in mind that, contrary to ruling class propaganda, such economic and social disasters are not bugs in the system but features, necessary to its functioning.
Massive layoffs and unemployment in a Europe in which half the workforce of the eastern EU is working or looking for work and making remittances home from western Europe will lead to the sort of inter-ethnic clashes which will allow the ruling class to justify draconian policing to preserve “order.”
All the ducks are in a row for the ruling class which is turning towards fascism again. The question is how the working people will respond, whether the current strikes in the UK, for example, will lead to defiance and nullification of the Thatcherite anti-Labour laws (designed to prevent strikes from succeeding). If this does happen, all bets are off and the prospects of a real change and the end of capitalism are very real.

No state of war between nations has been declared.
And most likely it won’t be.
Otherwise escalation into nuclear is well nigh unavoidable.
Modern war is no longer conducted between the military classes only and settled on a field of battle. Nowadays wars are conducted between nations/polities/peoples and the goal has to be the unconditional surrender of one’s enemy so basically anything can be done which achieves that goal.
Again, there is no state of war right now at least in military terms. There is a raging ‘cold’ or ‘asymmetric’ war in geopolitical balance of power and economic/financial terms.

Thanks for putting words to some of my thoughts, I could not do it as clearly as you, I`ll accept that there are no binaries, but to rationalize fascism with elegant trains of thought and eloquence does not make it for me. Big business, elites, class, racial theories and all sorts of evil dressed in fancy clothing and patriotic symbols and tunes won’t erase the evil consequences of such a system, and once war has started do not expect the other side to serve you tea at 5 pm and live up to humanitarian postulates, after the first shot and the first spilt blood it is just mayhem, cruelty and savagery, on either and all sides.

Natural gas:
European benchmark TTF futures climb unrelentingly.
Dec-2022: 153 Euro/MWh
Q2-2023: 109 Euro/MWh
Q4-2023: 101 Euro/MWh
compare: 25 Euro/MWh would be “normal”
Also, repeating because ita so important: Prices currently paid by big buyers in EU, ie now Q3-2022, still partially or mostly reflect contracts signed prior to the first price shock anticipating hostilities, which came in Dec-2021 …
I think soon we can say with high confidence that *All* of 2023, most firms with a heavy energy expense, anywhere that relies on LNG by sea, will be losing money – even if gas supply remains normal as I think it will.

“…There was Soviet-phobia all over Europe and the Nazis capitalized on it. Many people thought the Nazis would save Europe from the Soviets,…” aquileia@332
The ‘Many people’ you refer to were the ruling class and its fans. The reality is that, all over Europe, there was enormous popular support for the Soviet Union and its ‘experiment’ this was evidenced in the popularity of Popular Front politics and the support from the people for the Spanish Republic.
The Nazis relied not on popular support but on the military, ruling class control over the institutions of government, the mass media, the academy and conservatism.
In places like South Wales, for example, or the Ruhr, in the highly industrialised areas, that is to say, the great majority favoured rather than feared the Soviet Union. That was why the ruling class hated the USSR so much: it was setting an example of what could be done when capitalism failed as it had done. And as it is doing now.

I think someone had said about two economic realms. One of US dollars dominated the other were commodities and production based that enjoys cheaper Russian energies in which the case that EU would lose volumes it get from Russia permanently hence would inflated GCC sourced energy prices.
So In that near future EU and US produced goods would lose market shares in Asia, Africa, and the rest other poor developing countries because their prices can’t compete.

“But the vax doesn’t go directly into our bloodstream from the intra-muscular injection site. So it can’t flood your bloodstream with nanotech robots or micro-tracking chips or any of the similar claims I’ve seen. Some of the stories are black propaganda, and it’s really hard to tell the difference without studying the underlying biology. But spreading these stories harms the anti-(mRNA)-vax movement, as intended.”
I’ve tried to ignore most of the stories because I can’t verify anything and also don’t trust anything pro or con. But I was intrigued a while back by that English undertaker who reported a high percentage of his ‘clients’ coming in with strangely congealed blood, something he had never seen before. And this happened only after the jabs not during the flu-only phase.
And then that German chap who showed slides and died two days later. Are you sure things don’t get into the bloodstream and/or the major organs? Because one of the main effects seems to be blood related in that many young women have menstrual irregularities or miscarriages and many young men have heart problems, some deadly. Menstruation, birth, heart – all blood related. So it seems to me – as a total amateur of course – that things are getting into the blood-related systems.
But also there are widespread immune system issues, as you mentioned, which indicate that it’s probably going throughout the body – whatever ‘it’ is.
Finally a different but related point: I was always suspicious about the vax in one particular regard (among many others) namely: how do we know a) what’s in it and b) if everyone is getting the same stuff? Answer: we don’t. Turns out someone drilled down on this in 2021 and published the hundreds (or thousands?) of different batches by location and time. There is a huge variation in ingredients apparently which means not only that indeed they have all been lying but also that the campaign was a huge (and unlawful) experiment.
The whole thing is a criminal farce perpetrated on billions. The world is going to hell. And Russia and China are part of this dystopic madness which is one reason why am not willing to grant either Sainthood status yet even though, Lord knows, the Empire of Lies is long overdue for some serious comeuppance.
Put another way: the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend!

BRICSS – The End of the Hegemon?
Newsweek reporting Saudi Arabia may join BRICS
“The BRICS and the SCO share one important ideological quality: they are both focused on multipolarity, and their summits have even been held back to back with one another at times,” Matthew Neapole, an international affairs expert and contributor to the Macdonald-Laurier Institute in Canada, told Newsweek.
“Both are angling to act as force multipliers for this drive for multipolarity, to help along with alternatives [i.e, in currency or banking],” he added. “It could, in theory, facilitate economic linkages and step into gaps that U.S. institutions are not filling due to sanctions, such as those laid on Russia.”

Such an alignment would have significant impact on US dollar reserve currency status. Given the pending collapse of the EU due to self-inflicted sanctions damage, there would be no EuroDollar surplus. The US would find itself unable to finance foreign terrorism and state overthrows when it must make reliance on domestic taxpayer funds alone and cannot militarise the global currency system in its favour.
If true this is a great reason to celebrate the 4th of July!!!

I’m going to agree with Joe6pack above and say that yes this is a war, in the common English meaning of the word war. There are armies of soldiers firing on each other. The legalese that both sides are using to call it something else means about as much as the US justifications for bombing 9 or 12 Muslim countries. If you’re bombing a country, you’re waging war. That’s what the word means.
Ukraine is not an unlimited, or total, war. It’s a regional war that had the potential to spread into an uncontained total war.

We are talking across each other. Clearly, yes, there are military operations and people are killing and being killed, including too many civilians.
But I think you can agree that right now it is very contained to within Ukraine and NATO has not declared war on Russia and is staying out of it officially. No NATO troops engaged – officially. Russia is not invading any NATO countries.
So war has not officially been declared even though, yes, there is military conflict with fighting and dying and infrastructure damage. My point about that is that IF outright war is officially declared, the fighting will go far beyond Ukraine and millions may find themselves being bombed in almost no time. That’s not what’s happening now.

Wow. Guy is so young. One take away: He’s asked (almost flippantly) if there’s a risk of nuclear war as a progression from the Ukrainian/ Russian conflict.
“yes”. He answers. The interviewer’s eyes dilate and he swallows.
He was not expecting that. And given how so many now place high regard on this Dima’s analysis… it’s a salutary pause.
I don’t think the EU NATO US think tankers and parts of the Pentagram believe this is likely. They are so used to “poking the bear”, they are blasé.

And the widely held view outside the rare places like MoA is that the Russians failed badly with the *Battle of Kiev*, and are continuing to fail and blunder through a *”3day*” operation that’s taking 5/6+ months.
That so few military analysts understand the Russian Donbas campaign is …. Frightening.

As far as EU (or for that matter, certain Asian countries such as Japan), that is certainly the case! North America is still partially isolated in terms of energy cost. The increase in natural gas price is relatively mild compared to elsewhere. However our industrial export industry has been dismantled already in the previous generation.

Of course there was a lot of support for Communism. What’s not to like about a workers’ paradise. But others couldn’t help but notice that the first thing the Bolshewiks did after the revolution was to kill millions of people and they didn’t want a repeat of that in their own country. The main reason why so many volunteers from all over Europe joined the German military in its attack on the Soviet Union wasn’t because they liked Nazi ideology so much (at least I don’t think they did) but because they saw it as the only hope against the Soviets. Also, Germans noticed that the Nazis had somehow been able to pull the country out of the depression, so that was another reason for their popularity. I don’t think it was only the government, the military, and industrialists who supported the Nazis.
