Ukrainian forces say they have ended their "combat mission" in besieged Mariupol, as hundreds are evacuated from the Azovstal steel plant.
Reuters @Reuters - 3:35 AM · May 17, 2022
Ukraine's military said it was working to evacuate all remaining troops from their last stronghold in the besieged port of Mariupol, ceding control of the city to Russia after months of bombardment

From the false headline down the Washington Post report on the issue is a master piece of propaganda:

Ukraine ends bloody battle for Mariupol, evacuates Azovstal fighters

Ukrainian fighters have ended their weeks-long defense of a besieged steel plant in the strategic port city of Mariupol, as hundreds of combatants — dozens of them seriously wounded — were evacuated from the complex Monday.

One has to read beyond 323 words of falsehood to find out, down in paragraph 7, what really has happened.

Moscow hasn’t yet publicly responded to the developments in Mariupol, which were described by Russian state media as an order from Ukrainian military command for its troops to “surrender.”

Ukraine’s deputy defense minister, Anna Malyar, said 53 seriously wounded soldiers were taken to a hospital in Novoazovsk, a nearby town which is controlled by Russian-backed separatists. Another 211 were transported to another Russian-aligned village, Olenivka, she said. Moscow and Kyiv are brokering a prisoner swap to secure their release.

Malyar said officials were still working to rescue the remaining soldiers, though it is unclear how many are still inside. Ukrainian authorities said last week there were nearly 1,000 holdout fighters in the plant.

The f***ers finally gave up and surrendered unconditionally to the Russian forces as their only alternative was to decease within the next hours or days.

I am sure that the Russian authorities will apply a fine filter to determine who of those prisoners of war are allegeable for war crime prosecutions, de-nazification and a long stay in some north Siberian road builder camp.

There are also rumors of NATO personnel presence in the Azovstal catacombs. They will likely get to know the cellars of the famous Lubyanka building in Moscow before being exchanged in this or that deal with their home countries.

The rest will eventually be exchanged for Russian soldiers who are unfortunately held by the Ukrainian military.

What is missing from most mainstream and alternative reports: those people referred to "our boys" and "ukrainian heroes" proudly wear Fascist insignia and tattoes, they are accused of war crimes, genocide, they are suspects for most of the atrocities committed by "volunteer militia" after and since the Maidan revolution in 2014.

It will be interesting to see if they are still president Selensky's friends and heros when they appear before russian courts, along with the evidence of their crimes.

Small surveillance drones is one area I though Russian military was lacking. From what I have seen lately, Russia now seems to have greatly ramped up the deployment of drones.
Pocket drones for the military🇷 🇺🐝

Rostec is working on creating military mini-drones, the press service of the state corporation reported.:

"...The special operation showed the importance of not only large and medium-sized drones, but also miniature ones... Such drones are almost invisible, fit literally in your pocket, while allowing you to adjust fire, monitor and receive intelligence in real time... "

In 2021, the ERA technopolis of the Ministry of Defense introduced a small-sized Fly drone - 70 cm in diameter-for conducting reconnaissance and surveillance in hard-to-reach areas.

Later, the Almaz-Antey concern showed a Wolf-18 quadrocopter interceptor drone as part of the ROSC-1 radar and optical complex.

The size of the drone is 60 x 60 cm, it can climb to a height of 2 km and stay in the air for up to 30 minutes. In April 2022, the concern completed its tests.

The other area is good air defense when it comes to detecting detecting drones. It was noticeable early o with some of the Ukie artillery ambushes of armored columns and also recently at the Donets river crossing though that was most likely a LPR operation rather than a Russian operation.

regarding your post to me earlier - perhaps this is why russia is looking at changing the status of azov to terrorist group.. it seems like the usa was on the edge of doing the same about 4 or so years ago, but then realized they had to use azov like they have used isis and al qaeda before that... my thought - someone has to show some leadership on the world stage as we sure aren't getting it from the western governments - especially usa or uk!! quite the opposite in fact...

99% agree with @228 malamatias.

The remaining 1% is that French oligarchs are pure oligarchy and no more French. By the way, as Martianov says every day, the financial casino is nothing, real economy based on industry was and will be wiped out in France.

Just look at Renault crashing billions and 20 years of experience in Russia, selling factory, R&D, patents... all for one ruble.

When Lavrov assessed that, under the current government, “Germany relinquished the last traces of independence” from the US. He also said the same was true for most of the European nations, with the exception of France, where President Emmanuel Macron “is still talking about the strategic independence of the EU. I am certain they will not be allowed to have it,” he added.

What is clear, and easy to understand from Lavrov is that French strategic independence is dead. Macron is just selling the last asset of DeGaulle Era.
"European strategic independence" is the masked opportunity to dissolve French one.

No future. France is not anymore relevant. It could need a full thread to discuss it.
But don't wait for Macron. Not a solution but big part of the problem.

And unfortunately, don't wait too for the brain dead so called "left". Fake and no more involved with industrial working classes.

What it feels like is the west absolutely and almost silently freaking out about whoever / whatever is down there. It wasn’t so long ago that hardly a day went by without some unevidenced slander of RF chem / bio / nuke plots, from the usual NATO+ prats, even Stoltenberg himself! They’ve gone silent on that front but the whole spectacle was deranged, even by their standards.

There’s plenty of stuff that could be down there that couldn’t just be disposed of in an oil drum fire. A steel mill like Azovstal has an industrial chemistry lab for process monitoring, a suitable place to hide the development of lower tech chemical weapons or dirty bombs, both of which, or the precursors, would be virtually impossible to dispose of in a hurry.

A bit more complicated than that, I think. What's the difference between French and other oligarchs? You say just the same about the French as one says about British oligarchs, for example.

American biowarfare activities are not limited to Ukraine but also includes Mongolia, which just so happens to be located geographically close to Russia and China. Also, Mongolian genetic similarity to Chinese is likely of interest for American "biological activities."

It bears mentioning that, in its Project for a New American Century (PNAC) document published in 1999, America even made reference to "ethnic-specific bioweapons." And the Americans have curiously been collecting ethnic Russian DNA in the past.

Modern day Nazis are not just found in Ukraine or the Azov Battalion.

The 21st-century Nazis are in Red, White, and Blue and disguise themselves behind Goebbelsian deceptions like "defending freedom and democracy."

Will the US and Germany Turn Mongolia into a Biological Warfare Testing Grounds against Russia and China?

They might be poor, but they are hardly innocent - I dare you to take a gander

Do not assign guilt based on nationality (btw. it is against Norwegian law). Crimes like this must be punished on an individual basis, according to law.

In the west, Russians are now persecuted because they are Russians, that is criminal. We must not assign guilt to people of Ukraine just because they are Ukrainians. There are many criminals in Ukraine, and they must all be punished individually according to law and according to the crimes they committed individually. There are also many innocent poor people of Ukraine, and nobody should repeat the errors of the west and punish them for being Ukrainians.

Ukraine tries to recruit mercenaries in Austria.

"The Austrian top diplomat confirmed in his response to a parliamentary request that the Ukrainian embassy to the country attempted to recruit mercenaries on social networks, the Russian Embassy in Austria quoted Ambassador Dmitry Lyubinsky as saying in its Telegram channel.

The Kleine Zeitung newspaper reported that Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg confirmed in his response to a parliamentary request, made by the Freedom Party of Austria, that "in early March, the Ukrainian embassy in Vienna attempted to recruit Austrian mercenaries to fight against Russians, via its account on Facebook [banned in the Russian Federation; owned by the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation]," the Russian embassy said.

"In response, the Chief of Protocol of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, with reference to Article 41 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, immediately informed the Ukrainian ambassador that such actions violate the Austrian legislation. The calls were quickly deleted from the embassy’s web pages. None of its staffers with diplomatic immunity was punished," the Russian diplomats said."

What does it matter if UK / NATO / US etc officers are down there? Constitutes declaration of war? Don't think so.
It is something for the world to see, and that is important.

I recently met with some friends that have bought the MSM propaganda totally. They were in total disbelief when I told them a little about what is common knowledge here (i.e. the US Maidan coup etc.) and told me the Russians are killing small children etc. So we had to drop the subject.

It is very important that the truth comes out. In the west it will be suppressed, but the rest of the world will know and vote with their wallets. Eventually, the people of the west will figure out that there is something odd about the narrative they have been spoon-fed.

To karlof1, you obviously read the right things everyday, before commenting just like RSH. Declan Hayes is one of the best. He along with Alistair crooked on strategic culture is a must read to separate all this bull sh.t.

I would recommend Bradkhumar of Indian punchline as an ex diplomat who is extremely knowledgeable, and is not biased in anyway as most Indians are.

To think that "B" puts out the right thing everyday and you and R.H.S. provide intelligent comments is rewarding.

The CBC in Canada, even though publically owned is an organization just like the BBC that has been bought by American interests.

After neo-con Harper restricted their funding, they went full MSM. It was when Canada locked up the Chinese Huawei executive that I started listening to the CBC and tried to comment. Not even the most polite of comments were allowed, only the racists.

On the radio you have Evan Solomon a rabid Zionist racist against China and everything pro USA. This is a Jew that served in the Israel forces. People might say that he married a Chinese, and I will say so did Murdoch and Zuckerberg. Alex Pierson has shown herself to be a rabid racist also on am 640.

They always cut off people that have a different view. Such is our freedom. I can tear them into shreds in any debate unless lies rule truth which I do believe to be the case.

I learned that, perhaps, "Azov" will go out and surrender on the night from Sunday to Monday. And he rushed to Mariupol right at midnight.

For reporters, the topic was closed, because the GRU is not the kind of organization that so easily gives away its secrets, even if it is a powerful success.

So, at 05:30 we were in front of the Azovstal plant and were far from the first. I have not seen so many soldiers since the first days of the NWO.

There are five other videos, but they are mostly about waiting for Azovites at the bridge. Here is a drone video of some 15 city busses approaching Azovstal from the west at 9:40 on Monday. (I have not figured out if these are Rostov or Donetsk city busses or a mixture of both.)

Maybe but once everyone’s (presumably) surrendered the place should be guarded 24/7 and gone over with tweezers by RF radiological, chemical and biological protection troops.

There’s probably plenty of room to stash incriminating material in the hopes of NATO special forces being able to sneak in later and whisk it away.

Secure the whole place, concrete over extraneous accesses, guard it 24/7.

In light of the Russia sitrep posted yesterday at Saker, and also the recent meeting that Putin had when he specifically mentioned the biolabs in Ukraine (I posted at the end of the last week in review-not Ukraine) I am wondering if the attention being paid to important people bunkered in Mariupol isn't so much focussed on the important people but the refrigerators and what they might contain, as others have surmised.

In which case it would not be so much a question of who is 'evacuated' but what.

(We should also remember how agitated became a certain person being questioned by Congress. She wasn't worried about personnel; she was worried about stuff.)

I don't know about that person, but I do know that it was the US had a policy of killing any person in an enemy country exhibiting terrorist-like behavior. That was at the tactical level but also extended to presidential level (Obama) involving drone strikes in Pakistan on "likely terrorists" and anyone near him. For one thing, Obama issued an executive order prohibiting torture so supposed threats were just killed instead. Of course there were no courts involved in such matters. You must be kidding.

I was wondering why a NATO headquarters would be located with a biolab. This may be a place for coordinating the actual use of the weapons rather than their production.

Could also have been distribution hub for shipments by sea. Whatever: something much worse down there than a few trapped foreign military...

‘….Can you attach a link to the court decisions you are referring to? Thank you..’

Guantanamo ?
Abu Grurahbi ?
The dozens of English citizens ( mostly young women ) who have been jailed for living in Al-queeda controlled territory ?

The US supreme court yokels decided years ago that Gitnmo prisoners must be tried in court, but of course they never were because of a lack of evidence. And that's why bin Laden was assassinated, there was ever any evidence tying him to 9-11.

@Another Norwegian | May 18 2022 11:29 utc | 333

Do you know any around here (Norway) that don't believe the MSM version?

Except my wife I know none.

No I don't, unfortunately, but these days I don't see many people. I am sure they exist. Like you it is my wife and myself.

To 333 and 358: MSM always put out two versions. 1. The LGBT, BLM and all other so-called freedom.
2. The promotion of wars, colour revolutions, coups and so on.

You are led to believe that you have a vote between left and right, but that is a lie. They are all owned by the same people.

You see coloured refugees coming to your country and hate it. You cast your vote as such.
Never once do you stop to think why this is happening. The complete destruction of those people's countries is a direct result of this.

They are brought in to sweep your malls and clean your toilets, as ordained by your masters who don't give a f..k about your whiteness.
Then all of you turn to the most racist which is America to keep you on top. A country that shoots coloured people for fun. Such is your world.

Just who are your masters? It is the people that control the money.

Here's a chuckle. . .
Washington Post - Opinion
The world must not forget Mariupol’s defenders . . There was an undeniable contradiction between upbeat Russian war propaganda and the reality that, in the end, Moscow had to negotiate a surrender for defenders that it had vowed to annihilate.

What a brilliant maneuver by Zelenskiy! Not only did he organize a successful evacuation of his troops from Mariupol, he then ordered them to use civilian buses to strike deep behind enemy lines, which they did, capturing a large enemy base surrounded by thick, high walls with barbed wire! Zelenskiy is truly the Mozart of warfare!

Lol.funny called assovs were infiltrated by russian counter ops to stop Ukrainians from destroying plant.

Yes, yes, those brave defenders of Mariupol who wouldn’t let its residents leave—neither towards DPR/Russia, nor towards the Ukraine, killing those who disobeyed—forcing them to live in basements for four weeks with no electricity, heating or running water.

What I am not reading yet is the effect this "evacuation" has on the moral of other Ukraine troops.

Is this not the thin edge of the wedge that stops this lunacy in its tracks?

Who wants to be the last to die for the myths of human exceptionalism and the lies and deceit used to maintain the myths?

I am seeing it while scanning through the telegram channels. To add to Azovstal Zelensky has ordered the forces at Severodonetsk that they are not to retreat although the military top brass wished to do that. Units of the regular military there put out a video saying how bad conditions were and saying they would not fight. A captured Aidar battalion leader has also done a video.
Both the regular military and nationalist extremists are now realizing they are just cannon fodder so US ca fight Russia to the last Ukrainian.

The huge numbers of dead and wounded that Ukraine government giving no figures not even notifying relatives apparently is going to hit home in the coming months along with the absolute poverty that can be seen coming.

I think the current government and their handlers will be leaving office very painfully in the not too distant future. I suspect that once Donetsk ad Luhansk are cleared Russia will pull up and allow that to occur.

Reminds me of the time I was busted for stealing a bottle of whiskey from a shop when I was 15.
Not only was I made to feel secure, I was evacuated and stabilized.
I was also fed and sheltered overnight until my parents provided a rescue protocol.

An interesting comment about "Regie". Sadly , very far from the truth , in the real world of reality.

A quick check of the companies books on posted profits. After plant modernization investment costs. Robot body shell welding production. Robot engine assembly. The actual Russian production from the previous year accounted for 12% of "Regie" post tax profits in France. The even kept iconic unique to Russian ingenuity true mini SUV 4WD Lada Niva in full production.

Question , why would a major Euro car company be willing to abandon the good profits earned in Russia?

I would think there is an interesting string attached to that deal.

Give it a rest.
You’re not saying anything that everybody here already knows.
Take a chill pill. You’re messing with my vibes.
And by the way, I clean my own toilets and never go to the mall.
I bet 99% of those at the bar do the same.

Posted by: Cadence Calls | May 19 2022 2:59 utc | 371

No, I am messing with your racist views. I am very much in sync with the views here or I wouldn't be here. People like you need to see and feel bombs dropping on your head, like your masters have always done to defenceless people.

You hate real truth and believe in half the lies of your MSM because you can't face reality. You can't face the fact that is the western wars that have created refugees. Not once has your most trusted MSM ever raised that fact, so it must be those coloureds fault. No. Blame the refugees.

You talk about cleaning your own toilet and I talk about the world's plight and why things are what they are. I look at this world and you look at yourself: individualism as the USA calls it.

Give what a rest? 7% of this world's population is trying to retain their grip over the entire world, and I " messing with your vibes".

I grew up in Canada and in 1976, there was "paki busting", and I formed groups to beat the sh.t out of white racists for that is the nature of my country. It has become so apparent in recent years against Chinese and now Russians. The multiculturalism was always a farce.

Truth is a terrible thing to face, but reality is coming.

Thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge & insight! My sources indicate that humanity will get beyond all this barbarism sooner than most imagine. The truth is setting everyone (with ears to hear) free from the illusions created by powerdrunk neanderthals & their minions. The old world is falling apart because it must, to make way for a new world (by and for the people). Best IS yet to come. Keep on keeping on!
