On Lavrov's Spat With Israel - Who Is Right?

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is in a spat with Israel over its support for Nazis militia in the Ukraine.

The immediate cause is a passage in an interview Lavrov had with the Italian TV network Mediaset:

Question: This is how you see it, while Vladimir Zelensky puts it differently. He believes denazification doesn’t make any sense. He is a Jew. The Nazis, Azov – there are very few of them (several thousand). Vladimir Zelensky refutes your view of the situation. Do you believe Vladimir Zelensky is an obstacle to peace?

Sergey Lavrov: It makes no difference to me what President Vladimir Zelensky refutes or does not refute. He is as fickle as the wind, as they say. He can change his position several times a day.

I heard him say that they would not even discuss demilitarisation and denazification during peace talks. First, they are torpedoing the talks just as they did the Minsk agreements for eight years. Second, there is nazification there: the captured militants as well as members of the Azov and Aidar battalions and other units wear swastikas or symbols of Nazi Waffen-SS battalions on their clothes or have them tattooed on their bodies; they openly read and promote Mein Kampf. His argument is: How can there be Nazism in Ukraine if he is a Jew? I may be mistaken but Adolf Hitler had Jewish blood, too. This means absolutely nothing. The wise Jewish people say that the most ardent anti-Semites are usually Jews. “Every family has its black sheep,” as we say.

The Zionist entity in Palestine reacted with harsh words:

The Israeli prime minister, Naftali Bennett, condemned on Monday a recent claim by the Russian foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavrov, that Jews were “the biggest antisemites.”

The Israeli Foreign Ministry also summoned the Russian ambassador to Israel to explain Mr. Lavrov’s remarks, while the Israeli foreign minister, Yair Lapid, demanded an apology.
Mr. Bennett said that he viewed Mr. Lavrov’s remarks with the “utmost severity,” saying that the comments were “untrue and their intentions are wrong.”

Mr. Bennett added, “The goal of such lies is to accuse the Jews themselves of the most awful crimes in history, which were perpetrated against them, and thereby absolve Israel’s enemies of responsibility.”

Separately, Mr. Lapid said that Mr. Lavrov’s comments were “both an unforgivable and outrageous statement as well as a terrible historical error.”

“Jews did not murder themselves in the Holocaust,” he added. “The lowest level of racism against Jews is to accuse Jews themselves of antisemitism.”

Mr. Lapid has a big mouth that hides the whitewashing of Jewish Nazi collaborators in which his own family was involved.

But first let us tackle the question of Adolf Hitler's ancestry. The History channel has a piece on it:

In the decades since Adolf Hitler’s death, the Nazi leader’s ancestry has been a subject of rampant speculation and intense controversy. Some have suggested that his father, Alois, born to an unwed woman named Maria Schickelgruber, was the illegitimate child of Leopold Frankenberger, a young Jewish man whose family employed her as a maid. (She subsequently married Johann Georg Hiedler–later spelled “Hitler”–whose surname her son adopted.)

In 2019 the Jerusalem Post reported of new research on the issue:

[A] study by psychologist and physician Leonard Sax has shed new light supporting the claim that Hitler’s father’s father had Jewish roots.

The study, titled “Aus den Gemeinden von Burgenland: Revisiting the question of Adolf Hitler’s paternal grandfather,” which was published in the current issue of the Journal of European Studies, examines claims by Hitler’s lawyer Hans Frank, who allegedly discovered the truth.

Hitler asked Frank to look into the claim in 1930, after his nephew William Patrick Hitler threatened to expose that the leader’s grandfather was Jewish.

In his 1946 memoir, which was published seven years after he was executed during the Nuremberg trials, “Frank claimed to have uncovered evidence in 1930 that Hitler’s paternal grandfather was a Jewish man living in Graz, Austria, in the household where Hitler’s grandmother was employed,” and it was in 1836 that Hitler’s grandmother Maria Anna Schicklgruber became pregnant, Sax explained.
Sax writes in the study that according to the letters in Frank’s memoir, “Frankenberger Sr. sent money for the support of the child from infancy until its 14th birthday.”

“The motivation for the payment, according to Frank, was not charity but primarily a concern about the authorities becoming involved: ‘The Jew paid without a court order, because he was concerned about the result of a court hearing and the connected publicity,’” the letters state.

It seems to me that Lavrov has that one right. It really seems that Adolf Hitler had some Jewish ancestors who even paid for the upbringing of his father.

Now onto the other issue, Lavrov's claim that:

.. the most ardent anti-Semites are usually Jews. “Every family has its black sheep,” as we say.

Yair Lapid does not agree with that. Well, his father didn't either until, to his embarrassment, some new facts proved him wrong. There is for example the well known case of Rudolf Kasztner in which Lapid's father was involved.

As the Times of Israel reported in 2016:

[The British Jewish historian Paul] Bogdanor was “extremely shocked” to find that everything pointed towards Kasztner’s having been “a collaborator” with the Nazis, and a “betrayer of the Zionist movement and the Jewish people.”

Bogdanor’s new book, “Kasztner’s Crime,” published in October, sets out the case against the Jewish leader in damning detail. Even the most devoted defender might have second thoughts after reading his book.
Kasztner was a leader of a small Zionist grouping in Budapest towards the end of World War II. He led a Jewish rescue committee which, before the Nazis entered Hungary, did succeed in saving the lives of a number of Jews. But once the Nazis arrived, Kasztner, an ambitious lawyer, became embroiled in prolonged negotiations with the Nazi leadership, particularly Adolf Eichmann.

After complex dealings with Eichmann, Kasztner succeeded in getting the Nazis to agree to the deportation of a group of 1,684 Hungarian Jews, the so-called “Kasztner Train,” who eventually ended up in freedom in Switzerland.

But thousands more continued on the doomed path to Auschwitz. Bogdanor says that not only did Kasztner know they were being sent to their deaths, but that he actively kept such information secret from other Jews in Hungary and the wider Jewish world.

Kasztner deliberately put selected strong Zionists who wanted to emigrate to Palestine on his list. Those Hungarian Jews who did not want to emigrate were deceived by him to believe that the Nazis were no danger to them. Kazstner himself later found a role in the Zionist establishment:

Kasztner himself did not get on the train, but survived the war and made his way to Palestine. By 1952 he was a spokesman for the Ministry of Trade and a would-be member of Knesset, though he did not succeed in obtaining a place high enough on the Mapai list to become elected.

Nevertheless, when, in 1953, an embittered Hungarian Jew named Malkiel Gruenwald distributed a pamphlet about Kasztner, naming him as a Nazi collaborator, the Israeli government thought highly enough of him to bring a libel suit on his behalf, accusing Gruenwald of defamation.

During the trial, dozens of witnesses testified about Kasztner’s actions during the war. The case lasted 18 months and did not end well for him. The presiding judge ruled that Kasztner had indeed collaborated, and in words which echo down the years, said he had “sold his soul to the devil.”

The Israeli government of the day fell and Kasztner and his family became virtual prisoners in their home. He resigned from his post, his wife sank into depression and his daughter spoke, years later, of having been ostracized and mocked by other children at school.

On March 3, 1957, right-wing extremists shot Kasztner dead. The following year, too late for him, the court verdict was reversed, suggesting that much of what was claimed against him was not correct. Leading the campaign in ensuing years to rehabilitate Kasztner was journalist and political Tommy Lapid, himself a Hungarian Jew and father of Yair Lapid, the leader of today’s Yesh Atid party.

The father of the current Foreign Minister of Israel Yair Lapid tried to rehabilitate Kasztner. But the British historian found that Kasztner was indeed guilty:

“Kasztner didn’t start out as someone evil,” says Bogdanor. “He started out as someone who wanted to rescue Jews, and before March 1944, he did rescue Jews. But when the Nazis occupied Hungary, he began negotiating with them and, very quickly, I argue, he became a collaborator.”
The central charge made against Kasztner by the surviving Hungarian Jews was, says Bogdanor, “not just that he failed to warn them [of the Nazis’ intention]. It was that Kasztner had instructed local Jewish leadership to mislead them, and to deceive them into boarding the trains to Auschwitz. After Kasztner had visited the local communities, the leadership spread false information — which he had given them — that the Jews were going to be resettled inside Hungary. Agranat and the other judges overlooked this matter of deception.”

Bogdanor admits to being profoundly shocked by the depth and extent of what he found out about Kasztner. It would have been bad enough, he argues, if Kasztner had passively collaborated with the Nazis. But he actively collaborated, he says, taking steps to mislead both Jews inside Hungary and his Jewish contacts in the outside world.

Yair Lapid, just like his father, is wrong. There were quite a number of Jewish collaborators and some were even officers in Hitlers Wehrmacht.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to Yair Lapid's false accusations:

Michael Elgort 🇺🇦✡️ @just_whatever - 9:18 UTC · May 3, 2022
Today Russian @mfa_Russia has officially replied on its telegram channel to @yairlapid statement that you see below and this reply deserves to be translated and posted in full. A long thread with full translation below, link to the source in the end

The complete translation of the Foreign Ministry statement is here. It says (format edited for readability):

We paid attention to the anti-historical statements of Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, which largely explain the course of the current Israeli government to support the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv. The Israeli minister said literally the following: “The Jews did not destroy themselves during the Holocaust. Blaming Jews for antisemitism is a blatant level of racism against Jews”.
For some reason, the Western press (and some of our liberals) still argue about whether there are neo-Nazis in Ukraine. The Jewish origin of Vladimir @ZelenskyyUa is given, as one of the "reinforced concrete" arguments. The argument is not only untenable, but also crafty. History, unfortunately, knows tragic examples of cooperation between Jews and the Nazis. In Poland and other countries of Eastern Europe, the Germans appointed Jewish industrialists as heads of ghettos and Jewish councils (“Judenrats”), some of whom are remembered for absolutely monstrous deeds.

Jakub Leikin in Warsaw conducted surveillance of the Jews and reported everything to the German occupation administration, dooming his compatriots to certain, and sometimes painful death, and Chaim Rumkowski generally offered the Jews of Lodz to give their children to the Nazis in exchange for saving the lives of adult residents of the ghetto, there are many evidence of his words. It only remains to agree with H. Dreyfus a professor of history at Tel Aviv University, that the complicity of Jews in the Holocaust is a “marginal phenomenon” (but not a taboo and is the subject of research). ...

The Foreign Ministry then points to Israeli government sources which documented a big increase of antisemitism in Ukraine since the 2014 Maidan coup:

Since the coup in 2014, antisemitism has flourished in Ukraine. The report of the Minister for Relations with the Diaspora of Israel, @naftalibennett (PM now), indicates that in 2017 the number of antisemitic incidents including dozens of acts of vandalism in museums, synagogues and memorials, increased manifold in Ukraine.

Ukraine has become the leader among all the countries of the former USSR in terms of the number of antisemitic incidents, and some publications indicate that Ukraine generally surpasses all the countries of the former USSR combined in their number. One of the prominent representatives of the Jewish movement in Ukraine, Eduard Dolinsky, recently feared the termination of the activities of his organization (“Ukrainian Jewish Committee”).

There is a certain tradition of collaboration between Zionists and antisemitic people. Event the founder of the Zionist movement to establish a 'Jewish state', Theodor Herzl, was guilty of it:

[A]s the Austro-Hungarian writer Theodor Herzl was about to publish his manifesto The Jewish State in February 1896, he faced intense pressure from Vienna’s Jewish community to halt publication. Herzl rejected the pleas, published the book, and launched a movement that ultimately led to the establishment of modern Israel. Around the same time, the residents of Vienna elected an anti-Semitic mayor. To the relief of Vienna’s Jews, the emperor refused to approve Karl Lueger, but Herzl lobbied the prime minister to accept the people’s choice, arguing that boycotting the populist leader would only increase hatred of Jews.

Herzl had hoped that the installment of an anti-semitic mayor would push more Jews in Vienna towards supporting his idea of a 'Jewish state'.

Israel's arming of fascist militia in Ukraine may well have a similar motive:

Israel is keen on bringing in Ukrainian Jewish refugees for the purpose of maintaining Jewish demographic “supremacy” over the Palestinian population, academics and analysts say.

Since the outbreak of the war with Russia on February 24, the Israeli government has called on Ukrainian Jewish refugees to immigrate to Israel and removed bureaucratic hurdles to secure their arrival as quickly as possible.

“We call on the Jews of Ukraine to immigrate to Israel – your home,” Israel’s Ministry of Immigration and Absorption said in a statement on February 26.

Does that also explain why Igor Kolomoiski, the Ukrainian Jewish oligarch who lives in Israel, has financed the Azov battalion and other fascist militia in Ukraine?

I would agree, although I suppose the Russians may think that it is still possible that Ukraine will officially surrender if and when the Donbass forces are destroyed, Kharkov, Nicolaev, and Odessa are taken and the Russian Army is poised outside Kiev. In that case, they will still need Zelenskyy or someone in the government in the line of succession to ink a surrender deal.

In my view, that doesn't matter as much as Scott Ritter thinks, but who knows what the Russians think. They are sticklers for doing things the "legal way" - even if they probably intend regime change anyway, which I still believe despite whatever Lavrov says.

Also, reportedly - I don't know if it's true - the Russians are not into decapitation strikes - just "command and control" strikes, which don't include political leaders.

If I went back in time for a minute with one bullet for a moment with Hitler and Stalin in front of me in 1930’s what should I do in that 60 seconds?
Posted by: DunGroanin | May 4 2022 23:57 utc | 253

Leaving aside the usual challenges of time travel, Hitler and Stalin were never in the same room together. Perhaps in your parallel universe where they were in the same room, they never trespassed the boundaries of their ordinary upbringing.

Consortiumnews just came back up but Strategic Culture is still inaccessable here in the beadiest of the 5 Eyes (Aotearoa/New Zealand). So this is an official block not a DDoS or server migration issue if accessible via a VPN? Might have something to to with the upcoming coroner's inquest into the 2019 Christchurch attacks, don't want Kiwis finding out about that Azov/Nazi Wolfsangel on Tarrant's flak jacket or his suspicious travel history in Europe. Especially when NZDF intelligence officers are in Germany are feeding these same Nazis targeting information, and RNZAF Hercules' are dropping them off weapons.

Any technical solutions other than Psiphon would be much appreciated as I'm pretty much IT illiterate, Cheers.

... In that case, they will still need Zelenskyy or someone in the government in the line of succession to ink a surrender deal.

Someone will be needed, definitely. Zelensky might have one point have been just the right man but my sense gathered from the last 2 weeks observation is that the relationship between Zelensky&Co. and Putin,Lavrov&Co. has gone so far down the toilet that it's going to be a big ask to get any kind of cooperation. I'm getting the sense that they're "in it to the death".

In my view, that doesn't matter as much as Scott Ritter thinks, but who knows what the Russians think. They are sticklers for doing things the "legal way" - even if they probably intend regime change anyway, which I still believe despite whatever Lavrov says.

I suspect they've learned from the American experience in Iraq - decapitation of the state led to a nightmare patchwork of warlords and militia leaders to deal with. Given that Ukraine is on Russia's borders they should be as sensitive to the aftermath of the war as to the war itself. Preserving some kind of central leadership is going to make the aftermath much easier to manage ...

Also, reportedly - I don't know if it's true - the Russians are not into decapitation strikes - just "command and control" strikes, which don't include political leaders.

I've never seen/heard of them go for decapitation, on the other hand all I hear from the Americans is "DECAPITATION!". Probably an old ethic, reflected in Russian chess: "Never take the King".

It's odd that almost everyone here assumes the Holocaust is historical fact.

It is not odd. Because it is a historical fact. And barflies here are pretty knowledgeable folk.
Case in point, lets take any European city. Say Mariupol, it is pretty much in the news nowadays all the time.
Go to Wikipedia and read its section on WW2. Check the demographics and ethnic structure before and after WW2. Now go and check Herson, Odessa, Kiev, Lavov, Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Vilnius, any place Germans took. You will see the same pattern: one particular group disappeared. Numbers do not lie.
Germans killed 600000 Hungarian Jews in 1944 - in the time when they were losing the war, and even that situation did not distract them from their murderous genocidal mission. True monsters indeed.

And then we have MI6, or at least their involvement. If you read Peter Wright's book 'Spycatcher' on page 162/63 you will find not only the team that did the assassination, but also the weapon used to kill LHO. And again the Russians know!

I read the book and have it on the shelf. It does not say that at all. What Peter Wright talked about in a different part of the book is how prior to the assassination, Angleton talked to him to see if the British could supply teams for "wet work". He put him off on the idea.

Wright did not link that event with the assignation. I use that as another piece of the puzzle. Clearly Angleton was looking for kill teams to clean up some of the mess left behind after the assassination.
It does not talk about how the assassination was done anywhere in Wrights book.

Obvious the USSR had nothing to do with it. Even the madmen in the USA who though they could nuke the USSR wanted to keep a lid on that idea at the time.

Once the assassination was completed the team, and it was a large one, was called into a room and told they would be given new identities and placed in other countries. If the choose to stay then they would not leave the room alive. I personally know of one guy who called his daughter many years later from another country. She thought he had died in 1963. He told her what happened. He was dead within three days.

Such is how things work in the good old Empire.

Ukraine would also need plutonium for weapons, but that comes from reprocessing spent nuclear fuel. They did that in Ukraine in Soviet times but shouldn't have any reason to be doing that now. Pretty hard to hide any quantities of radioactive plutonium. You would need catacombs under a steel plant or something like that, but what do I know...

Have Russians withdrawn from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant? I know they withdrew from Bucha and most of Kiev Oblast west of the Dnieper, but I have not heard any mention of Chernobyl since March.

I believe they did. They turned it back over to the Ukrainian management. They left end of March, although there were still some in the vicinity of the exclusion zone, but not in the plant itself.

Posted by: pretzelattack | May 5 2022 3:16 utc | 280 the Bay of Pigs was pushed by Kennedy, as was Operation Mongoose, the CIA campaign to assassinate Castro.

On your first point, I believe there is a lot in what you say. However what was most interesting was that Wright in his first chapter described how he destroyed 'all' of his records as per the regulations. And then he wrote the book. However when it came to be printed there was a court case in old Sydney town and Malcolm Turnbull was Peter Wright's barrister and he won. Then if one compares what was written in the book "Open Verdict" by Tony Collins plus some correspondence I received written by a member of that SAS team, all of that supports what Peter Wright states.

On your second point, that was the reason by Edward Lansdale was in Dallas. Lansdale in conjunction with the Kennedy's had planned a psy-ops for Dallas where John Kennedy was supposedly to be wounded in an attempted assassination, except that Lansdale defected to the CIA and the CIA then had 'their' team piggyback on the back of Lansdale's team (the three tramps, plus Tippit, Ruby and Co,) This psy-ops set up by Lansdale was to be blamed on Cuba and thus permit an American attack on Cuba and taking out Castro, except that Lansdale defected to the CIA, resigned his position in the Kennedy Administration, and then after the assassination moved to Saigon where he stayed until he retired in 68.

To corroborate this last point, you may remember the immediately he heard of his brother's assassination, Robert Kennedy stated that the assassination did not involve Cuba.

And thus, I must agree with most of what you say about the dirty politics in Washington; much the same back then as it is today.

By the way, have a look at the shirt in the Dallas museum, that Connolly supposedly wore when he was shot in the chest. In these cases, the shirt is normally removed surgically so as not to cause further damage to the victim. That being the case then how was the shirt saved so as to be viewed in the museum in its complete form?

Dear Paul, Read chapter 11 in its entirety again and especially note the sheep example in Porton Down (page 162). That was the same type of weapon used to assassinate LHO. When you watch the two men wheel the trolley out with Oswald's body on it, it is plain to see that the body is already dead, as one arm falls out, the trolley stopped and the arm returned, and then the trolley continues on its way. Then note LHO's body in the mortuary, where there no sign of a bullet hole, but rather a diamond shaped area where the skin has been removed. Had Oswald been shot with a similar poison as the sheep, then the possibility of excess poison being on the skin surrounding the dart hole would explain the removal of the skin in that area.

Again, a similar weapon (sabot) used in the attempt on Reagan being shot in the left armpit whilst waving to the crowds, and not by an exploding bullet.

It’s diplomatic chess. Lavrov would’ve been surprised if his remarks hadn’t produce this type of response.

He could’ve easily said something like “I certainly agree that there shouldn’t be any Nazi formation in Zalensky’s regime”, so he almost certainly intended to propel the argument into the news cycle with a small dose of controversy.

Next up, lots of evidence of EUkrainian NATO-NAZI formations and Zelensky’s heroic snuff-Nazi death squads, pluckily kidnapping, torturing, mutilating, raping and murdering for euro-western values.

Thank you.

What an insane range of political groups here, from marxists to hard core holocaust deniers.
The latter are the price B. has to pay for an open thread. If this blog is really strong, and it is, it will handle this idiots.

Marx' theory is not about how to install a communist regime or to "predict" anything. It is an analysis how capitalism works, and why the people become totally fooled about their situation. It also has nothing to do with the "leftists" agenda, which is a neoliberal agenda. It is a theory that destroys idealism – both in economic theory and in everybody's daily opinion. Not more, but not less.

Marxism for beginners:

1) Materialism – become aware of your interests and take your life in your hands
2) Theory – understand the system you are living in, and don't be fooled by the fetish of money: Money is exploitation and imperialism, and "freedom" is it's ideology.
3) Fight: No regime change without violence. Prepare for a revolutionary situation.

This is most peculiar. Wright was in MI5 not MI6. It is very hard to understand how he would have known anything about covert actions of MI6. His only involvement was in "Fluency" a joint-committee into Soviet penetration of domestic UK politics in 1964.

At the time of the Kennedy assassination the Prime Minister in UK was Harold Macmillan. He had been a British liaison to Eisenhower in North Africa after Operation Torch. He was also a close friend of Kennedy whose sister was married to Macmillan's niece.

Quite why MI6 answerable to the Foreign Secretary would engage in actions in USA at a time when UK and USA were negotiating Polaris submarines and Macmillan was stabilising defence relations is clear only to the weird sites that populate US servers

No, actually the Israelis didn't provide apartheid South Africa with nuclear weapons.
The Pelindaba reactor had nothing to do with the nuclear weapons and was in any case provided by the U.S.
The Valindaba jet-nozzle uranium enrichment plant was based on technology supplied by West Germany (undoubtedly with U.S. approval). This was the plant which provided weapons-grade uranium which was then turned into half a dozen warheads. These warheads were gun-type weapons along the lines of the "Little Boy" bomb which was used on Hiroshima.
We chose this kind of weapon because more expensive and sophisticated weapons were useless for us (since no opponent of apartheid in Africa had any targets suitable for nuclear attack, the whole thing was a propaganda exercise and significantly the political boss of the programme was the head of the National Intelligence Service, which incidentally was set up by the CIA). There's a lot of other stuff about alleged sophisticated nuclear weapons in South Africa, but I think it's mostly disinformation and racist fantasising.

Incidentally, though, the Israelis did provide our apartheid regime with the rifles for the SA Army, upgraded our Centurion tanks for us, upgraded our Mirage IIIs to Kfir standard, and provided us with our Minister-class missile boats and their Gabriel missiles. They also provided us with the American storable-liquid technology for the Jericho IRBM, which we tested at the Skipskop range, and of course we collaborated with Israel in the Southern Ocean nuclear test, IIRC in 1979. And they gave us oodles of advice about occupying southern Angola and promoting terrorism in Mozambique, all of which turned out to be as bad as you"d expect Israeli military advice to be.

By the way, a lot of South African Jews were anti-apartheid activists and were not very happy about all this -- especially when it turned out that many of their visiting friends were working for Mossad.

Note that the South African President at the time had been interned at the Koffiefontein concentration camp because of his pro-Nazi sympathies during World War II, but that didn't bother the Israelis any more than working alongside Major Bob D'Aubuisson in El Salvador bothered them.

Apologies if already posted, did anyone ever doubt the following, or believe the final claim?

NYT: "US intelligence helped kill Russian generals"

The US provided intelligence that helped Ukrainians hit and kill several Russian generals who died in action in the Ukrainian conflict. The New York Times writes it citing senior American executives. Ukrainian officials claim they have eliminated about 12 Moscow generals at the front, a number that amazed military analysts. Washington shared the location and other details of Russian mobile headquarters, which change frequently. Geographical data that the Kiev military combined with their intelligence information, including interception of communications, to conduct artillery and other attacks that led to the deaths of Russian senior officers. Not all strikes were carried out with the help of US intelligence, which, for example, had no role in last weekend's one against the Russian chief of staff Valery Gherasimov, who would have been saved anyway. The US prohibits itself from providing secret information on the highest-ranking officers in the Kremlin's military, the sources said.

I guess the zionists don't have gas chambers and incinerators in Palestine. Otherwise not much different from Nazi Germany, US, Australia, Canada when it comes to creating living space.

Jews seem to be classified into zionists and non zionists. Although very much a minority in most countries, many rise to high places out of proportion to demography.

From what I can see, Isreal is a safe haven for non zionist jewish criminals.

There was something in a thread a few weeks back on the proportion of Jews in the current US admin. Names were given to prove Jews did not run the US, but the numbers were out of all proportion to their small percentage of the US religious demography.

There has been a number of comments in the last month on what is Judaism, race or religion?
To me it is a culture and religion.

The extermination of jews in medieval Britain was no different to nazi Germany's extermination of jews in Europe.

Iran is the only country in mena apart from Israel that still has a Jewish community- they obey the laws of the land and don't rise to high places//places of influence.

Is it religion or culture the reason jews in general have been persecuted throughout history by many peoples?

"The Marxism in the term cultural Marxism comes from the genesis of the ideas from members of the Frankfurt school"

The Frankfurt school may have some influence from Marx, but is not marxist. Which is something that can be said of many people. Even Martyanov and Saker have marxist influence, but are not marxist.

"began to realize that the widespread material well being of the population was not fertile ground for classical Marxist theory."

This is completely nonsensical.

What you're describing is not "marxist theory", classical or not. And foregoing the principal goal makes it decidedly unmarxist.
Therefore such an intellectual state of affairs cannot be "realized" in the meaning of "becoming aware of its truth" since it's not true to begin with, and cannot be "realized" in the meaning of "making it real" since it's not Marxist (and as a historical fact hasn't resulted in more marxism but less).

"They invented new criteria, race and sexual orientation being primary features for a new modern underclass."

All those features can be used to scapegoat people into an underclass, which is something the US establishment has ample experience in.

But no marxist would approve of such social structure, and no marxist would fixate on such traits as the origin of any underclass.
The origin of any underclass lies in the superprofits that business owners can derive from exploiting disenfranchised people.

"The Frankfurt school is a primarily Jewish Marxist thought center."

I cannot vouch for its jewishness or lack of it, nor do I care, but it's certainly not marxist.

"Black = worker
White male = oppressor class"

Well, up until recently that was exactly true in the US as enshrined in the law.

Problem is, there is such a thing as historical and sociological "inertia", laws aren't magical spells that immediately change reality, it takes time and effort to actually change society.

In any case if white men are oppressors it's not because they're white or because they're men; it's because they have access to the means necessary to oppress and the political will to do so, and their would-be-victims don't have the means or will to counteract this.

"Therefore new terms like systemic racism, white privilege and white supremacy became commonly used in the media
Hillary famously used every thing she could think of to call white voters, racists, sexist, homophobe, islamophobe, irredeemable, deplorable, Obama called white voters bitter clingers holding on to their guns and bibles. Michelle O said she was never proud of being American. Cultural Marxism today defines a political movement."

So a bunch of american liberals decide to alienate a big chunk of their would-be voters, and it gets pinned on Marxism?

What the f**k?

Do these people stick to dialectical, historical materialism? No, they don't. They're not marxists.

Do these people stick to class as the foremost, operational divide in society? No, they don't. They're not marxists.

Do these people advocate the creation of unified working class power? No, they don't, not at all. They're not marxists.

Do these people advocate for a working class revolution? No, they don't. They're not marxists.

Do these people advocate for leaving capitalism and building socialism? Lol, no, not at fucking all, much the opposite. They're not marxists.

"It is not just a theory. Democrat party has adopted it 100%."

It's not even a theory.

It's an intentionally misleading term designed to shift blame from US establishment and US controlled opposition onto an actual enemy (marxism) which has little or nothing to do with that particular shitshow.

So stop calling it "marxism" in here, becaue it isn't, and people around know better.

Obama gave an address to the nation where he said america was exceptional nation, Putin said something about that being extremely dangerous.

Mein kampf has been a big seller in Turkey. That has spread through the Turkic nations and will be a problem for the future.

Exceptionalism, be it nationalist, religion or culture all equal dehumanizing of the other - nation wide cults so to speak - exceptionally dangerous when it infects the leadership of countries.

I agree the the Frankfurter Schule was not marxist in a strict sense, but strongly influenced by Marxism. But it is simply not true that they "invented new criteria, race and sexual orientation being primary features for a new modern underclass."

Read the works of the Institut für Sozialforschung, the Studien zum Autoritären Charakter (an inventory for empirical research), the Dialektik der Aufklärung, and tell me, where there "new criteria, race and sexual orientation [as] being primary features for a new modern underclass" are defined. I can tell you, there are not.

The "woke" theory has neither to do with Marxism, nor with the philosophical and empirical studies of the Frankfurter Schule (whatever a knowledgeable person may think and judge about). "Woke" and "indentity" theories (as far as one may call them so) are basically post-structuralist and postmodern, deriving from Levi-Strauss, Foucault, Derrida and others who were staunch antimarxists, wooed and pushed by the CIA to repell marxist influence in the academia.

It is Bannon, Q-Onan and similar boneheads and idiots whose primitive mind cant perceive one enemy image or bogeyman at a time, so everything they get shit in the pants from must be "marxism", "marxism-leninism". or "cultural marxism", the latter borrowed from Goebbels' "Kulturbolschewismus". Ok, and some Jew sniffing of course.

It is depressing how many idiots are on the bar.

Those left were the ones who followed Christ, and wasn't in Jerusalem when the siege started.

Hence the ad homine fallacy is his main argument. When they try to participate in any ideological debate, they systematically start with the end, the conclusions, or the absurd syntheses like 'Nazibolshevism' without any concern to substantiate any statement. This state of mental confusion is favorable to them because it encourages everyone to speak out on matters they are not aware of, or to speak out about events based on information that is usually difficult to access.

I was merely responding to Virus.

I'm not particularly knowledgeable about the Frankfurt School, and you can check that I didn't place any more blame on it than what was present on Virus' comment.

"The "woke" theory has neither to do with Marxism, nor with the philosophical and empirical studies of the Frankfurter Schule (whatever a knowledgeable person may think and judge about). "Woke" and "indentity" theories (as far as one may call them so) are basically post-structuralist and postmodern, deriving from Levi-Strauss, Foucault, Derrida and others who were staunch antimarxists, wooed and pushed by the CIA to repell marxist influence in the academia."

I largely agree with this, except that as I said, I'm not knowledgeable enough about the Frankfurt School to personally attest to their relation with identity politics or lack thereof. But to the extent that I have had any contact with their texts, I don't remember anything of the sort; and since it looks like you are indeed more knowledgeable on the matter, I will defer to your judgment for the time being.

The "french school" is certainly a poisoned well.

My suspicion is, people taking the same position as Virus did, cannot accuse identity politics by name since they themselves are very obviously guilty of as much.

Welfare is not socialism, and kingdoms cannot be socialist; since the very existence of any shred of aristocracy precludes the notion of equality, socialism is strictly republican. Of course, varying degrees of rapacity exist within capitalism, and all real economies are mixed; and a less rapacious variant of capitalism is always better for the working class.

But capitalist practices within say, ancient Athens, didn't make ancient Athens a capitalist economy or polity.

In the same vein, socializing practices within the Kingdom of Norway didn't make it a socialist economy or polity.

I responded to your post because it made some sense (other than the ravings of the anticommunists, jew sniffers, and q-onanists), and I far not disagreed to all or even most. Adorno, Horkheimer et alii were bit ivory tower intellectuals, social scientists, and philosophers, left oriented, sure, but not even with much of a political agenda. Certainly worth lecture and reception. They had, without looking for, some influence on the "new left" and anti Vietnam war movement of the 1960/70s. Long ago.

My comment could be construed as acquiescing to the thesis that identity politics originate from the Frankfurt School - which wasn't my intention anyways, it simply falls outside the scope of the comment and my personal knowledge.

I have read some texts by such authors, but too few and too long ago to have left any solid imprint that I'm aware of, although they certainly didn't leave the bad aftertaste of postmodernist bullsh**t.

In 965, Sviatoslav I of Kiev finally went to war against Khazaria. He employed Oghuz and Pecheneg mercenaries in this campaign, perhaps to counter the Khazars' superior cavalry.[20] Sviatoslav destroyed the Khazar city of Sarkel around 965, and possibly sacked (but did not occupy) the Khazar city of Kerch on the Crimea.[21] He subsequently (probably in 968 or 969) destroyed the Khazar capital of Atil.[22] A visitor to Atil wrote soon after Sviatoslav's campaign: "The Rus' attacked, and no grape or raisin remained, not a leaf on a branch."[15]

Includes this:"....“The US is directing all anti-aircraft operations and monitoring all major ground movements with their satellites and AWACS. Technologically speaking, they may have a better view of Ukraine and everything that moves than the Russians. If there were to be a qualitative escalation of the combined US and Ukrainian forces, such as deployment of long-range missiles along the Polish side of the western front and long-range mobile artillery moving into Ukraine to fire and then back to Poland for safety, then you can be sure the Russians would see that as a new strategic capability or differential. They will counter-attack, possibly against US satellite and aerospace reconnaissance assets.”

I've been wondering how the news of Lt. Gen. Trevor Cadier's capture has been received in Canada, so for the last few days I've been watching the Toronto Star website. Unlike with US Gen. Roger Cloutier, it seems to be a fact that Cadier has been captured, with pictures of the capture appearing at online sites available through MOA, and one might expect the capture would be scandalous in Canada and big news there. After all, he was (or still is) the head of the Canadian army. However, I didn't find a single word about Cadier in the Star. I made a search again today on the Star's website for Cadier and up came "No results found." I wonder what the Canadian barflies think about this situation. James?

I predict we'll shortly (1 - 2 months?) start seeing attempts by Russia to directly attack the Ukrainian top level leadership.

If the current crop of leadership is of no value to Russia, the best hope for a compliant negotiating party would be to bring about a totally fresh generation of leaders ... That means wiping out all the current leadership.

What I see more likely that the West decides that Ukrainian leaders are of no more value - or rather, have a higher value dead than alive. In which case some of them will be used for staging false flag attacks --- by the West.

That may even go for those leaders that have already prepared by getting Western citizenship.

It's Cadieu, Chas. But you are right. The Canadian Press, not famous for its independence and courage in the face of power, is putting on a clinic in putting a lid in scandals.
The troubling aspect of it is that most of the Press is dependent on the government for its financial survival, thanks to a variety of tax breaks and special deals and, in recent years, direct subsidies in the form of wages paid for reporters and other money payments.
The bottom line however is shocking: The man chosen to head the Army is in Ukraine, obviously at the government's behest, has been captured and is almost certainly under interrogation.
And then there are the questions-which no politician is asking either, such as whether the General has a swastika tattoo, after his service with the Dynamo Donetsk Football Hooligans (aka the Azov Nazis)? What he was doing got NATO? Whether Freeland asked him to bear a message to anyone? What are the women like? And whether he'd sooner be back in Afghanistan or Jerusalem.

Of course it could be that the story is so BIG that there are teams of journos across Canada working on the details to make sure they do it justice. We shall see. Or maybe not.

My $0.02 worth concerning Adorno and Horkheimer and the Frankfurt School:

I don't disagree with their critique of pop culture and have often pointed out the power of mass media in influencing the population's perspectives. My problem with them is that they assign higher priority for defining social relations to pop culture than to people's relationship to the production process.

Of course, I use a much broader definition of "culture" than they do, with culture being the accumulated knowledge and technology of a society, from fire-making skills and language passed down from prehistory; to brushing teeth and tying shoelaces; to agricultural, mining, and manufacturing technologies that keep the population alive. To define people's lived realities by the pop culture they consume is the luxury of delusional narcissists who have never worked a day in their lives and proceed from cradle to grave in insulated bubbles that shield them from ever coming into contact with the modern industrial processes that keep them fed and clothed and residing in sheltered ivory towers.

In fact, pop culture is just the decoration on society, not its driving force. It is the chrome fender badges on the car and not the car's engine and suspension. Just because some people buy a particular car because of the chrome fender badges, and focus their attention on those fender badges to the point of fetish, and even try to construct their personal identities around those fender badges, in no way elevates the fender badge to the role of essential characteristic of a car. If that fender badge were attached to some other object; say a tree, then that other non-car object would not become capable of fulfilling the functions of a car due to that simple change.

To bring this critique of the origin of critical theory down to practical examples, we can look at the fixation on pop culture in the West, and America in particular, and note that pop culture moved to assume a more central role in people's perception of the world in perfect synchronization with western societies' deindustrialization. More telling is that the degree to which individuals derive existential meaning from pop culture is precisely proportional to the distance in their day-to-day lives from the economic production process. This is why we see middle class white collar whites in the West obsessed with "representation" in pop culture and "cancelling" those who transgress from their ideals in pop culture. (Note: national politics is included in pop culture in the West).

In any case, it is true that Adorno and Horkheimer did not create what is today called "Critical Race Theory" and its ideological fellow travelers, but they provided an essential step away from real Materialist Marxism and towards today's faux-left ideology based upon Metaphysical Idealism, which of course is a complete inversion of Marxism.

"... the only way the situation can be rectified is for NATO to be rolled back to its 1997 status,.."
"How about its 1947 status" karlofi?
NATO was a disguise, aimed at public opinion, of the secret German re-armament programme that flew in the face of all the agreements reached at Yalta and the UN. It was generally agreed in Europe that, after two devastating wars involving the German military, the first of which ended in an agreement to restrict it to 100,000 men, there should be no new German army to fight in a third war.
When NATO began to smooth the way to re-arming Germany there was a political earthquake, in the UK the government split and the Labour Party was heavily against re-arming Germany. It was a major issue too in both France and Italy and caused great anger in the Kremlin.

"Shariy was arrested on Wednesday in a joint operation by Spanish and Ukrainian cops, as well as international "partners", the SBU said in a statement.

"The agency, Kiev's successor to the Soviet KGB, said that the opposition figure is wanted on charges of treason by Kiev, among other things. Shariy has been infringing Ukraine’s national security through his activities in the media realm, while allegedly acting on behalf of “foreign” forces, it insisted. The case against the YouTuber with almost 3 million subscribers was launched in February 2021.

"Shariy’s arrest “is more proof that every traitor of Ukraine will sooner or later receive his well-deserved punishment. It is inevitable,” the SBU claimed....

"...President Zelensky’s representative at the Constitutional Court has already expressed confidence that Shariy will “face a Ukrainian court and will be held liable in line with Ukrainian laws.”

"This is the time for leaders within the Global South to wake up and realize that given the type of economic warfare that is currently being let loose on a country like Russia, weaker countries across the Global South have no meaningful autonomy.

"This is the time to rethink how we conduct politics, economics and foreign policy when it is clear that the West can decide to decimate entire countries. The economic weapons being built against Russia will be available to be used against other countries that have the temerity not to toe Washington’s line.

"The rejection of intense pressure to bend their collective knee at the United Nations Security Council is an encouraging example of the Global South ..
"..As the United States rapidly escalates its new Cold War against Russia and China, and expects other countries to fall in line, there is now an urgent imperative to reject this Cold War mentality of wanting to divide the world along old acrimonious lines. The Global South should reject this view and call for the respect of international law by all countries. It makes a mockery of the concepts of human rights and international law when they are only evoked when it is those countries whom the West dislikes or disagrees with who break them..."

"US training Ukrainians at ex-Nazi Wehrmacht base,
The US has been training Ukrainian forces for eight years and is using a major base in Germany to continue doing so, a top general said"

Germany's complicitness on what's been going on in Ukraine and the Donbass is clear for all to see.

"The US military is currently training Ukrainian troops to operate new howitzers, drones and other NATO-supplied equipment at the Grafenwoehr range in southern Germany, the head of the 7th Army Training Command confirmed on Wednesday. Brigadier General Joseph Hilbert told reporters that the US military has trained over 20,000 Ukrainian troops over the past seven years, in anticipation of a conflict with Russia.

Grafenwoehr, located in eastern Bavaria, was originally built by Imperial Germany ahead of the First World War. It was expanded by the Wehrmacht in 1938 and used to practice Blitzkrieg tactics. The US military occupied it in 1945 and has operated it ever since."

If SAS and/or MI6 was involved in the JFK assassination, that is no doubt connected with the peculiar behavior of William Greer, the driver of Kennedy's car in the Dallas motorcade, who, instead of speeding up after the shooting began, mysteriously slowed down (and even, according to some observers, came to a complete stop). Greer, a Protestant born in County Tyrone, had in his Ulster youth belonged to the Orange Order.

Chinese authorities run a stress test on their economy simulating the current sanctions that Russia is going through, is China expecting similar treatment from Nato and Europe, or is China preparing to make a move with regards to Taiwan, and is it expecting severe sanctions for doing so.

"The Chinese government has ordered a comprehensive “stress test” to see how the country would handle sanctions like the ones imposed by the West on Russia, the UK’s Guardian newspaper reported Wednesday, citing sources.

An unnamed person with direct knowledge of the matter told the paper that an extensive exercise began around late February and early March when Western allies imposed sweeping sanctions against Moscow. The source said that several key Chinese government agencies had been asked to come up with responses if the West imposed similar embargoes on China.

“Those involved in this exercise use how Russia was treated as a baseline for China’s own policy response should it be treated in a same fashion by the West,” the source explained, adding: “This stress test involves a range of methodology, including modelling.”"

"The "woke" theory has neither to do with Marxism, nor with the philosophical and empirical studies of the Frankfurter Schule (whatever a knowledgeable person may think and judge about).

It is depressing how many idiots are on the bar."

Aquadraht, you destroy some well-made points by the reflexive, gratuitous groupthink ad hominem at the end. Sorry to say, but that is shallow, lowbrow. Unfortunate. Tut Tut! Try to maintain a civil tone, old chap, since many of these topics are actually quite debatable, nuanced, controversial and so on. Don't assume that just because someone doesn't agree with you that they are untermenchen.

I never managed to read through much of Marx. 20 pages tops. I got a little further with Mein Kampf but never further than about a third of the book. Personal predilection I guess. However, my take on Marx is that he is part of 19th Century post-Christian pseudo 'scientific' intellectualism. Put another way, he offered up a way of explaining how society works without God in the picture. Darwin did a similar thing in a different field (and as we now know there are huge holes in his theory as he himself would admit and indeed predicted). Part of the reason I got bored with Marx is that it was clear to me that he had no understanding of the upper classes in Europe, more particularly England where I grew up, and therefore no true understanding of middle and lower either. As such, I regard him as a fairly typical Jewish thinker for Jews always remain apart from the larger society in which they live. They have been para-nationalists for millenia, probably starting from nomadic trader origins around Yemen. Nothing wrong with being a para-nationalist unless you become hell-bent on dominating the nations in which you live. And of course am not talking of the vast majority of people who identify as Jews, rather their leadership classes.

For those interested in reading a well argued case for why aristocracy can be beneficial, I recommend his book 'In Defense of Aristocracy' if for no other reason than in examining that class and the deep-rooted system from which it springs he also examines the entire class 'system' in ways that are a refreshing counterpoint to the decidedly middle class Marxist view which lacks soul, heart or deep human insight (which is why I get bored reading it, and also Mein Kampf. Both perspectives are simply too soulless despite having real insight. A web search yielded this playful obituary. He was a close family friend, a bon vivant, never dull, often sporting bright red socks, and sailed into his senior years with unflagging joy. The sort of character that one rarely meets these days, sad to say, in these latter neo-Marxian times.

Finally to the point: having admitted my ignorance of what exactly 'Marxism' is, let me say why the Bannon-QAnon or whatever interest in the term - which I believe is 'neo-Marxism' - makes a certain amount of sense. First, you have to put on a Christian hat which most of this demographic are wearing. Then you have to let you view shift accordingly and believe in God and the principles of faith, family and community that these people share, some in a very fundamentalist way but most in a simple everyday 'this is our culture' sort of way, indeed most of them probably not even identifying as such but simply living as such.

From this point of view, most of the thinking, governing, philosophizing, advertising, politicking, brainwashing BS they have been exposed to most of their lives is ungodly 'marxism' because Marx is part of a period which spawned the many movements which explain reality, life and thus also society without God, without spirituality and thus on some level without morality. Many of them will also perhaps maintain that this is some sort of Jewish-derived materialism in the mix, for materialism is the belief that the only thing that is real is physical matter, is this life now, and everything else, including the mind and emotion, is an epiphenomenon that has as much substance as an hallucination, is brought on by chemicals, hormones and so on but has no actual existence. To this day these things are argued by 'scientists' with those debunking materialism decidedly in the minority. For a good debunking, btw, highly recommend everyone to read the seminal recent work by Bernardo Kastrup, "Why Materialism is Baloney..." a CERN scientist who has no interest in Bannon or QAnon.

Those who have contemplated deeper as he has done will have determined that this materialist fallacy is widespread and deep-rooted and often behind most of what goes wrong in society and the current 'wokeisms' and suchlike are actually just epiphenomenon of this materialist often explicitly anti-God mentality, albeit many are also concerned that there seems to be some sort of coordinated push to force this down their throats - like teaching six year old how to perform fellatio and buggery for example. Some of them may go so far as to speculate that this campaign - seemingly - against traditional faith-based, non-materialist world views is the result of a deliberate conspiracy to undermine their culture and replace it with something essentially demonic, materialist (aka Saturnine aka Satanic) and that their entire life, which for them includes its underlying sense of meaning, is being deliberately attacked, sabotaged.

This is the sort of axis on which things like historical revisionism are being graphed. Your scorn for such concerns and facility with which you drip down scornful insult does you no credit. These are heavy matters. Indeed, our collective inability to discuss things other than in essentially tabloid ways constrained by unlawful taboos laid down seemingly from on high is one of the main reasons I believe Western civilization is about to go into one of its deepest crises. Many feel it is already too late and first we must enter the abyss before perhaps - for there are no guarantees - clambering out again. Others feel this is a moment of trial and we will come through. Who knows?

So forgive people like myself - who btw doesn't like either Bannon or QAnon stuff particularly and who isn't Christian - who aren't completely up on Marxism as defined 150 years ago. The concern about hurtling forward in a society which has abandoned and a sense that our existence is fundamentally spiritual not material is quite valid even if it may manifest in strange ways in public discourse in societies which are in the process of fragmenting of not actually irreparably broken (as I am increasingly tending to believe). Indeed, since you like ad hominems, I would say that if you are not so concerned yourself with such matters, and moreover care little for those who are, that you yourself might rightly be regarded as an arrogant ignoramus. Of course I would never say such a thing because to do so would be to insult your person and undermine your dignity. But perhaps it is worth pointing out that your doing so to others is, as I wrote above, unfortunate and low brow, not to mention unworthy of our mutual host here, b, who has created a small island of free speech in an ocean of generally hidebound garbage.

An Idiot!

Russian military simulates nuclear missile launches from Kaliningrad incase the conflict escalates.

"Russia has simulated nuclear-capable missile strikes in the western enclave of Kaliningrad in the Baltic Sea, in a potential signal to the West, which has been heavily backing Ukraine, and an indication of how the conflict in Ukraine could escalate.

"In a statement on Wednesday, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that Moscow had simulated "electronic launches" of nuclear-capable Iskander mobile ballistic missile systems during military maneuvers in Kaliningrad, situated between Poland and Lithuania.

It said Russian forces had conducted single and multiple strikes at mock enemy missile launchers, airfields, protected infrastructure, military equipment, and command posts.

After performing the launches, the military personnel carried out a maneuver to change their position in order to avoid "a possible retaliatory strike," the ministry added."

William Gruff@362
I have been concerned about the increasing audacity of the censors and blog burners for a week or so.
One of the things that adds to my concern is the ease with which trolls and provocateurs can post their silly screeds, knowing that if an indictment against the site is ever drawn up, it will feature copious quotes from the Himmler fan club, the Holocaust deniers and the rest.
I am all for absolutely free speech and do not begrudge a moment of the time that posts like 'Peter's make me spend vomiting over the keyboard but there is no doubt that the liberals who brought us "hate speech" and turned 'causing offence' into a taboo, and who are currently actually establishing total control over what is allowed in the media, are very likely to turn their attention to the bloggers next.
It is a small consolation that as their control over the dissemination of information increases, their arrogance and stupidity grows proportionally and the end of their rule comes closer.

Afaik the inflationary use of "culture" is a rather new phenomenon as well as such a wide definition of it, it wasn't used that way back in the days of Adorno & Co. The reason for this might have something to do with the rise of the entertainment industry :)

This is very serious, since you are not allowed even to go to find refuge in Europe against a criminal government.

This is the world upside down, the persecuted is labeled traitor because he leaves to avoid a sure cancelling of rights and sure death by hard beating or burning alive,m like happened in Odessa, and keeps fighting the usurpers of his nation and basic human rights in the country of refuge.

Death Squads already installed in the country of refuge as "rightful refugees" are allowed by the national authorities to harass the unadequate refugee, and even menace his family, wife and new born without anything happening to them.

Natiinal security laws at national level of European countries and at Eu level have been declared in the aftermath of the pandemic, in the last days of the past year, with currently almost the whole West declaring dissent or criticism of the government in any way a crime.

Do you think that in this scenario new elections will be hold?

A coup which ended with our imperfect "democracies" took place during the pandemic.

The way 150 million Europeans were treated, being stripped of all their rights with the acceptation of the rest of the citzenry and total impunity was a bad sign. I knew at that nmoment that elections would be ended.

How do you take part in elections if criticizing the government gets you jailed on charges of treason?

What keeps them from erasing anybody who oppose them?

Who will denounce it? The ECHR or the ICC who gave a damn about the rights of 150 milliuon Europeans?

We live under nazi rule, thus, the moment has come to go undergorund and organize...Or leave for Latin America...I should have left as I considered doing during the worst of the pandemic harassment....

Under Franco´s dictatorship you could leave for France, even through the Pyrenees if needed, and once there you were safe from anyone pissing on your human rights...
Have you noticed there is nowhere to go in Europe?

RE killing Russian Generals, my main reaction to such stories is that they are pathetic attempts to look fearsome and relevant.

If you read news a lot like I do, you will come to see that those stories pop up from time to time in the red-meat media, on slow news days when they have nothing better and need attention. The Israelis are fond of talking about their wished-for atrocities too, but I don't think we got it from them.

(Yes, the Times is definitely red-meat media these days. They used to have a little class, care a bit about their reputation, now it is anything goes.)

Truth is spoken within the Outlaw US Empire's Senate, "US is world's 'greatest propagator of disinformation’ – Senator: Washington has no right to tell its citizens what the truth is, Rand Paul claims."

"Due to its long track record of disinformation, the US government has no right to tell the American people what the truth is, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has stated. He went to list a number of examples of where Washington had lied to its own people, and the rest of the world.

"During a Senate hearing on Wednesday, Paul grilled Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas over the so-called ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ his agency has announced to supposedly help social media platforms filter out ‘fake news.’

"'Here’s the problem: we can’t even agree what disinformation is,' the Republican Senator pointed out. 'You can’t even agree if it was disinformation that the Russians fed information to the Steele dossier.'" [My Emphasis]

Of course, we know the Steele Dossier was compiled by MI-6, and Russia had nothing to do with it at all.

Paul continued:

“I mean, think over all the debates and disputes we’ve had over the last 50 years in our country. We work them out by debating them. We don’t work them out by the government being the arbiter,” the Senator said.

I want you to have nothing to do with speech... You think the American people are so stupid they need you to tell them what the truth is?” Paul added. [My Emphasis]

Too bad Paul didn't cite the many current examples of government lies. I'll bet the national debt that his objections aren't published by any major newspeak media outlet, although FOX News might broadcast them.

Well, there's no open thread to post this information to, so pardon this off topic news item: "Roscosmos, Energia space firm ink deal on conceptual design of new orbital outpost."

Russia's new space station will have the English acronym ROSS--Russian Orbital Service Station. What I found important within the article was this short phrase:

"... undocking operational modules of the Russian segment of the International Space Station,"

implying the use of ISS components in building ROSS, an idea that IMO has great merit. ROSS's mission as mentioned will also be coordinated with the Lunar base China and Russia have committed to erecting. I would think dismantling Russia's portion of the ISS will mark the death knell of that outpost, leaving the NASA, ESA and JSA components to fall to earth.

Indeed. As happened with the Diem regime' in Vietnam so long ago. In either case, they will simply be doing the Russian's work for them: Another roll of the dice, on the house ...

Posted by: Arch Bungle | May 5 2022 17:24 utc | 394

karlof1 @391: "I would think dismantling Russia's portion of the ISS will mark the death knell of that outpost..."

Yes that would be the end of the ISS. The US section of the ISS has no mechanism for station-keeping... no engines. It can potentially use visiting spacecraft for station-keeping and reboost, but that would require reallocating cargo capacity for fuel. Basically, using visiting spacecraft to maintain the facility's orbit could be a temporary solution, but I doubt that would be trusted for a long term fix. NASA might choose that short term workaround for a few months before deorbiting the station just to pretend "Hey look! We didn't need the Russians after all!" but there are other reasons that the Russian "Zvezda" module is considered the "core" of the station like that is where the toilet is.

There are many countering theories. Clearly you are unaware of them. Fair enough. And it is not one of those things like 'either you believe this theory or your believe Catholicism.' False argument. If you are interested you might try to find some good articles on Intelligent Design. Even if you don't agree with them they are usually well argued and fascinating to contemplate. On the other hand, you might also stumble on Darwinianist attacks on ID people which are mainly emotional and rarely engage in the ID arguments making them far less enjoyable to read. Generally I try to read the original stuff rather than the arguments against it. First read the stuff; then read the counter-arguments.

In any case, your statement that their being no counter and the only alternative is Catholicism is pure fantasy.
