Flag Abuse And Other Bits On Ukraine

The Pentagon reports about the continuing efforts to sell new U.S. weapons to those nations which discard their old ones in Ukraine.

Austin Hosts Ukraine Defense Contact Group to Continue Support for Beleaguered Country

To express the seriousness of the situation in Ukraine the Pentagon decided to hoist Ukraine's blue-above-yellow flag upside down.

Hanging a flag upside down is a sign of either dire distress or cultural ignorance. Given that this was a Pentagon event the later is the more likely to be the case.

The Baltic nutters have a another great and of course completely impractical idea.

UK backs Lithuania’s plan to lift Russian blockade of Ukraine grain

Britain has backed in principle a proposal by Lithuania for a naval coalition “of the willing” to lift the Russian Black Sea blockade on Ukrainian grain exports.

The Lithuanian foreign minister, Gabrielius Landsbergis, proposed the plan during talks with the UK foreign secretary, Liz Truss, on Monday in London.

“Time is very very short. We are closing in on a new harvest and there is no other practical way of exporting the grain except through the Black Sea port of Odesa,” he told the Guardian. “There is no way of storing this grain and no other adequate alternative route. It is imperative that we show vulnerable countries we are prepared to take the steps that are needed to feed the world.”

Landsbergis proposed that a naval escort operation – not run by Nato – could protect the grain ships as they headed through the Black Sea and past Russian warships. He suggested that, apart from Britain, countries that were affected by the potential loss of grain such as Egypt could provide the necessary protection.
...
He said Ukraine needed to export 80m tonnes of wheat alone this year and the only option was through Odesa.

Let me help Mr. Landsbergis with some facts:

  • The port of Odesa is blocked by Ukraine, not by Russia.
  • Ukraine does not have 80 million tons of wheat to export. In a good year the total grain production in Ukraine is 80 million tons. Some 50% of that is corn and some 40% wheat. Only two-third of that will be exported.
  • The Ukraine is currently exporting 1.5 million tons of grains per month. Most of that is going through Romania.
  • Given that this years planting did not go as planned the Ukraine will hardly have any wheat to export later this year.

Still some know-nothing falls for Landsbergis' scheme:

After meeting Landsbergis, Truss said the UK would want British naval ships to join the escort if the practicalities could be sorted, including demining the harbour and providing Ukraine with longer-range weapons to defend the harbour from Russian attack. The UK is in discussions with allies about the plan and it would probably need US agreement to be activated.

Truss said: “What we need to do is deal with this global food security issue and the UK is working on an urgent solution to get the grain out of Ukraine”.

The Ukraine is only number 5 of the largest wheat exporters with some 8% market share. Russia, the global wheat exporter no. 1, will have a record crop this year. The global food security issue is thereby a question of price and accessibility, not of the globally available quantity.

I find Liz Truss' point of "providing Ukraine with longer-range weapons to defend the harbour" quite interesting. Didn't the Ukraine claim that it hit the Russian ship Moskva with two Ukrainian made cruise missiles? If it really did so it already has the longer-range weapons to hit Russian ships. Is Truss leaking that the Ukraine lied about those missile hits?

The whole idea of sending an armed escort convoy and long range weapons is just nuts. What Ukraine would need are not only missiles but targeting data and radar with which that can be acquired. Unfortunately radar does emit electromagnetic waves which makes it detectable and vulnerable. Russia has already knocked out several radars in and around Odessa. What is Truss' plan to avoid that?

And don't get me going about Russia's submarines which are completely sufficient to sink anything in the Black Sea that Russia does not like to be there.

---

Meanwhile the war is progressing in Russia's favor. I do not have time to show detailed maps of what is happening but there are two reasonable Youtube channels which provide good daily reports based on multiple sources. These are Military Summary and Defense Politics Aaaaasia.

In the north Lyman has fallen with reports of Ukrainian troops withdrawing after a short fight. In the east the Ukrainian held city Severodonetsk is mostly isolated and now under fierce attack. Several more towns around the Popasna bulge have been taken by the Russian side. South of it the city Svetlodarsk has fallen after the Ukrainian tried but failed to destroy a nearby dam. The Ukrainian troops retreated without a fight.

Instead of holding the lines by all means Ukrainian units now seem more interested in running away. That is more healthy for them and also solves their serious supply issues. Like other supply lines the Bakhmut-Lisichansk road is now under Russian fire control. This video shows what that means.

What we are seeing now are the effects of nearly three months of Russian artillery war. The Ukrainian troops at the frontline have been ground down and those who are left are moving out before being destroyed too. The front begins to move at several points. When those points merge we may next see the tactical deep battle phase of a classic Russian deep operation:

Deep battle envisaged the breaking of the enemy's forward defenses, or tactical zones, through combined arms assaults, which would be followed up by fresh uncommitted mobile operational reserves sent to exploit the strategic depth of an enemy front. The goal of a deep operation was to inflict a decisive strategic defeat on the enemy's logistical abilities and render the defence of their front more difficult, impossible, or indeed irrelevant. Unlike most other doctrines, deep battle stressed combined arms cooperation at all levels: strategic, operational, and tactical.

It feels insane when Henry Kissing er is the only sane man in the room.

Henry Kissinger: Ukraine must give Russia territory

Veteran US statesman Henry Kissinger has urged the West to stop trying to inflict a crushing defeat on Russian forces in Ukraine, warning that it would have disastrous consequences for the long term stability of Europe.

The former US secretary of state and architect of the Cold War rapprochement between the US and China told a gathering in Davos that it would be fatal for the West to get swept up in the mood of the moment and forget the proper place of Russia in the European balance of power.

Dr Kissinger said the war must not be allowed to drag on for much longer, and came close to calling on the West to bully Ukraine into accepting negotiations on terms that fall very far short of its current war aims.
..
He told the World Economic Forum that Russia had been an essential part of Europe for 400 years and had been the guarantor of the European balance of power structure at critical times. European leaders should not lose sight of the longer term relationship, and nor should they risk pushing Russia into a permanent alliance with China.

It is likely too late to reverse the Russia-China alliance but I otherwise agree.

Thanks for your reply! I have a VK page. You can get to it by clicking my hyperlinked name at the bottom of the comment. I haven't used it much to converse with Russians; rather, I use it to publish articles that FB and other Western controlled media won't allow. Generally, I don't have much time to socialize as I use my computer time mostly for research and writing commentaries like those you read here, although I'd make time if such conversations contributed to my understanding of events.

I assume from your comment that you live and work in the Moscow district. IMO, we have too few Russians visiting MoA, but we do value the insights of those that do make an effort to inform. That said, welcome, and please become a regular commentator!

A second point I would like to make is that there seems to be some discussion that Russia has slowed down its campaign of taking new grounds during the intervention, with some saying it is taking longer than expected. What is obvious in following some of the independent journalists on the ground in the Donbas region, is that Russia is in a phase of consolidating the territories it has taken, and this is taking much time for its armed forces to do as well.

Consolidation is extremely important now, and it reinforces Russian presence in those regions. There seems to be great efforts going on to make sure people are supplied with food, shelter, medication, and there is a massive clean-up operation of cities like Mariupol. There's also the removal of unexploded ordnance, and land mine clearing in country areas, and also the logistical operations including reconnecting displaced individuals with their relatives and accounting for deaths. There is need for much rebuilding of apartment blocks and houses, infrastructure restoring, and getting life back to as normal as possible after the fighting. Russia appears to be engaged in all of this because no one else is helping apart from the local people. In my view they came to their defence and they are not going to abandon them now.

This consolidation phase is to be expected for two reasons. Russia has been there from the beginning to support pro-Russian and Russian Ukrainians in Donbas, and they are not abandoning them to sort things out by themselves. Ki'iv and Zelensky are not going to help, because they are effectively still trying to destroy the region with artillery and Grad rockets. Of course the venal media have still not told anyone that Zelensky, previous presidents and their neo-Nazi brutes have been trying to destroy Eastern Ukraine for 8 years.

The US/UK/Israel goal is to create a Brzezinski quagmire for Russia in Ukraine as it did in Afghanistan, to weaken Russia in Syria. This brings in bribes to the political party in power from the MIC and the zionists, and those of the rich positioned to plunder the economy during the deepening recession. US foreign policy is the result of bribes from those three oligarchy groups, and will never look rational from a nationalist perspective.

He came up with the idea of detente, as I recall, the idea that instead of launching Strangelove nuclear bombs on the USSR, the USA should accept it and co-exist.
It was Brzezinski and his gang that were focused on destroying the Soviet Union and then Russia.

Btw this is one of the best articles I’ve read in recent days, thanks Mr b.

Truss is my foreign minister, Johnson was one too on his way to claim his crown. He was a total clown as he always has been .
We just have no way of firing them! It’s absurd. If the U.K. says it will send a fleet to guard grain ships it obviously means that we would send a fleet to sink grain ships. Russian ones.

I love this quote

“ He told the World Economic Forum that Russia had been an essential part of Europe for 400 years and had been the guarantor of the European balance of power structure at critical times. ”

As is pointed out strange indeed when one knows that Kissinger is probably the greatest consigliere or capos of world disorder still around. Certainly the most senior. Maybe not so strange because he leads where all follow. He has perhaps led the failure to fulfill his life long ambition. China and Russia are not dissolved and owned. The last throw of the dice has failed. Like azovstal there is only defeat and surrender to harvest.
So he rushes to the front and says ‘we must evacuate’ , trying to play now his last card.

Nope, not buying his ‘ever so humble’ diplomacy.

The fantastical irony is the Outlaw US Empire could have helped all of its neighbors develop instead of forcing them to accept domination by US Corporations. It could now have its own version of BRI from North to South in the Western Hemisphere but Imperial, Exceptional thinking led it to the current impasse and lack of any positive future expectations unless it violently reverses its centuries old practice and truly becomes a Good Neighbor.

Precisely that. Had the USA come from compassion and not greed, the world would have benefited way beyond today's position. What a shocking squandered opportunity.

@karlov1 160

First, I found your post's thrust far easier to understand - and more interesting - than the linked article for which in any case I thank you. My main takeaway from the article is that many times in history dominant nations impose their own will on less powerful nations and peoples. In short: might makes right. Then there was a journey in Latin America from being territories of divided and subjugated peoples to being a region with various different sovereign nation states. Sovereign basically means that you are your own boss and others cannot assume responsibility for or authority over your life and basic rights especially without your consent. Sovereignty of the individual in common law is similar to national sovereignty.

Second, I went to look at the UN Charter which haven't looked at in decades. It's MUCH too long, basically, but I'd have to think for a long time about the degree to which I think any of it is truly achievable. The main goal is to prevent war between nations. I don't think they have been all that effective albeit no major world war has occurred since the last one and whether that is down to the existence of the UN or not might be hard to determine.

I think your main thrust is often simply that the US is an Outlaw operation and Russia is standing up for humanitarian principles as enshrined, for example, in the United Nations which is an attempt to establish equitable international laws and relations between peoples.

IMO, the US definitely IS an outlaw nation albeit the outlaw elements are not so much within the US per se as using US dominance in world affairs and they have their tentacles in many other powerful countries at the same time. Put another way: the large outlaw aspects of the US have little or nothing to do with US citizenry. There is an ever-widening gap between leadership classes in the West and their peoples. They might as well be living in different countries or planets.

We shall see how things develop. Right now I like your characterizations because they are clear, principled and often explain what's playing out well: the Empire of Lies against the Good Guys with principles and now the courage and determination to insist that the Bad Guys can't get away with bullying everyone whenever they want. For most of us English-speakers getting used to understanding that 'our' side is often in the wrong takes a bit of a journey.

But just because our side is rotten to the core, doesn't make everyone else pure as the driven snow. That's where I'm coming from. I need a lot more than rhetoric to be convinced that what is coming down with all this new money and so forth is going to be in any ways less corruptable than what was ongoing before. Although again, am able right now to entertain hope that this time things really could get done better.

First there has to be a considerable amount of demolition, though, before rebuilding can take place. So let's see how that goes. My new country property in Mexico yesterday had four walls and a roof. Now two work-days later, the walls are gone and the roof was taken off a few hours ago. Essentially, the old house is gone except for the excellent foundations.

That's is what is needed in the West. Tear down the edifices, close down the institutions, rip up most of the constitutions and rebuild from the foundations up. Those foundations are the national character and soul. Dig down, find out the good parts, identify the bad parts and put together something that works with both aspects to create a full human expression in the form of a collectively experienced society or culture.

Heads up for anyone interested in Andrei Martyanov - Russians With Attitude (some might recognize them from Twitter) did an hour long podcast with Martyanov yesterday: The Road Not Taken: Geopolitics with Andrei Martyanov. Also available on YouTube, but it's a podcast so no video, just audio. It's all in English.

Nothing particularly 'new', but I thought the nature of the discussion - Russians interviewing Martyanov on Russian/U.S. military doctrine and Ukraine - was pretty interesting. I was one of the handful of U.S. military back in the stone ages that was taught to respect the (then) Soviet military and recognize them as a formidable, intelligent and lethal peer adversary... one with nukes and vodka. Martyanov's comments reassure me that the current Russian military deserves that same respect. Current U.S. government and military leaders seem clueless - that's what terrifies me.

Priceless quote from George Soros at Davos:

“While the war rages, the fight against climate change has to take second place. Yet the experts tell us that we have already fallen far behind, and climate change is on the verge of becoming irreversible. That could be the end of our civilisation.

“Therefore, we must mobilise all our resources to bring the war to an early end. The best and perhaps only way to preserve our civilisation is to defeat Putin as soon as possible. That’s the bottom line.”

So the way to end the war early is not to negotiate but to defeat Putin as soon as possible. Got it?

Escobar or Strategic Culture title for an article "Russia Rewrites the Art of Hybrid War"

Sun Tzu - appear weak when you are strong, appear strong when you are weak - or something along those lines.
In Syria, after the US west, my country included, publicly became the ISIS airforce taking the mountain overlooking Dier Ezzor, Russia turned the ancient grave yard there into the grave yard of ISIS. The apparent weakness of the defenses drew in the US proxies like a moth to a candle.

Same is occurring in Ukraine. There is more to it than I can see at the moment, but Russia is putting in just enough force to appear weak. Perhaps the American generals don't know which way is up on a flag or perhaps they can now see the trap they have walked into.

Re Azovstal. All residents of Mariupol spoke about the azovs, fascists nazis whatever. None singled out the leader of the organization. Azovs were bussed out in normal civilian buses, no blacked out widows or curtaines. The 2IC was openly interviewed by reporters.

from Kyiv post

Roderich Kiesewetter, a member of the German Bundestag and former Bundeswehr general staff officer, has claimed that the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not wish to see Ukraine victorious in the war against Russia.
He said that the reason why the German government did not give the green light to the country’s defense sector to prepare the dispatch of 100 German Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and Marders infantry fighting vehicles in February is because Scholz is trying to win time.
“I am afraid that the Chancellor does not want Ukraine to win in this war. In the sense that the Russian army is thrown out of Ukraine,” he noted.
Notably, Kiesewetter’s view is echoed by other German public figures.
In a recent interview with Radio NV, Sergey Sumlenny, a Berlin-based expert on Eastern Europe, said that the German elites are afraid of Ukraine’s victory, which would lead to the demise of Russia.
“They know how to deal with a victorious Russia and defeated Ukraine. It is something that corresponds to their worldview. A world without Russia, however, scares them. The demise of the Soviet Union happened, among other things, because no-one had anticipated it. Russia’s collapse, perhaps in the next two-three months, is very well possible, and this scares them as they don’t know what to do in the aftermath,” he explained. . .here

If the above is accurate, the Ukie armed forces are close to collapse and Phase 3..n may happen relatively fast. The Donbass broiler will have done the job of cooking the core of the Ukrainian armed forces. No wonder the US wants a ceasefire, the Russians have their enemy on the ropes.

Perhaps that last sentence could be rephrased: the Russians have the world's enemy on the ropes. By that I mean global nazism.

Thanks for that report - it confirms the forecast by many including Ritter, Martyanov, Mercouris and others that the devastating assault of the first fortnight was a knockout blow and everything since has been mop up and cleansing / maneuvering. (apart from a few meandering thoughts along the way) ;)

I am not sure what to make of the Polish/Zelensky joint forces talk other than it is likely a lie or a dope fueled imagination experiment. Could it be that if the eastern polish border has been erased then we can read it as being 1 millimeter east of the western Polish border, thus erasing Poland entirely from europe.

Comment from https://t.me/polkovnik_hodarenok Telegram channel on viewing a video of Ukrainians operating a US M777 howitzer - that gadget that Ritter believes is "having an effect on the battlefield" - despite not having one single incident of a dead Russian, LDR or Chechen as a result...

I wrote about the American M777 howitzers (https://www.gazeta.ru/army/2022/05/23/14894228.shtml) more than once, but Ukrainian propagandists do not seem to be embarrassed by problems with foreign weapons - more and more video with the shooting of "three axes", and everything can be seen in some detail, how is it.

The position is not equipped and they shoot directly "from the wheels." But this is not a self-propelled gun for you - deploy such a fool and prepare for firing for at least half an hour. During this time, there is a risk of being detected. At the same time, the lads act sluggishly: out of eight people of the calculation, only four are in positions. Either laziness, or physically lacking runners. As a result, the intensity of shooting decreases. The declared two per minute are not in sight here, a maximum of one. And then with a stretch. More like one every two minutes.

In short, another idea with Western high-tech weapons was crap in the most primitive way. And this is what Ukrainian propagandists carry to the channels “im. Win."

Right on! But then it occurs to me: 'Wait! Isn't Soros the one trying to bring down the US? So is he for or against the Empire? Whose Empire? Is that Empire something that has captured America but doesn't yet control it completely so some of its operatives like Soros are bent on transforming it into something entirely different (like a Reset etc.)? Are they against the US predilection for wars abroad, bombing civilians? Or are they the ones who keep making it happen? Are they the ones pushing mass undocumented low-skills often criminal immigration? Or are they against the Empire and if they are why is the Empire letting in all those people.

It's all VERY confusing!!

Comment from Army_Russia Telegram channel on the appearance of the SU-57 fighter in Ukraine skies...

Military Watch reacted to the news about the use of the Su-57 fighter during the special operation. Based on the characteristics of the aircraft, the magazine named five missions that it can perform in Ukraine

The Su-57 is believed to have the most powerful electronic warfare capability of any fighter aircraft in Russian service.

The Su-57 has an integrated Himalaya electronic warfare system, which is distributed throughout the aircraft's airframe, including the wings, in order to more effectively counter enemy guidance systems. A fighter equipped with multiple radars can be deployed to suppress air defenses, limit situational awareness and enhance the capabilities of other aviation units. Just one Su-57 potentially allows even a very small number of aircraft to influence the situation on the battlefield.

NETWORK CENTRAL WAR

Su-57 radars, according to the publication, are capable of tracking up to sixty targets simultaneously. Participation in the SVO allows the fighter to test its situational awareness and improve the set of sensors and sensors, the mass production of which is expanding. Since large ground forces are deployed in Ukraine, as well as a significantly thinned but still active enemy air force, the Su-57 has a good opportunity to fine-tune equipment in an environment as close as possible to combat.

The fighter's ability to operate alongside other Russian assets such as the S-400 or Su-34 could also be tested.

EXPORT DEMO

Like most post-Cold War weapons systems, the Su-57 program was largely developed with export in mind. A number of customers showed great interest in the fighter. Its use in Syria, and now also in Ukraine, will help attract additional attention from foreign states. The participation of the Su-57 in the SVO is a demonstration of Russia's confidence in the latest fighter.

EXPERIENCE OF PILOTING IN COMBAT CONDITIONS

The transition of Russian pilots and maintenance personnel to the operation of the Su-57 is expected to be difficult due to a significant discrepancy in the level of technology compared to previous classes of fighters. The deployment of the Su-57 in Ukraine can be seen as a way to secure a large talent pool with experience operating a new generation fighter. Another advantage is the fact that personnel feedback can contribute to the improvement of the aircraft, as was the case with the Su-35 fighter, which received a baptism of fire in Syria.

WEAPONS TESTING

In Ukraine, the Su-57 most likely used the new weapons to neutralize Ukrainian targets from a safe distance, mainly for testing purposes. Perhaps this is the Kh-59MK2 cruise missile, optimized for destroying small protected targets at extreme distances. The advanced capabilities of the missile could make the Su-57 a very valuable asset.

Although the Su-57 is armed with modern air-to-air missiles, the likelihood that they will be tested is low due to the scarcity of the Ukrainian Air Force. However, even the defeat of a drone would make the Su-57 the first fighter of its generation to win a dogfight beyond line-of-sight.

Yup. That whole story of protecting the Azov leader from the public was clearly silly. Do you think there were crowds of people lining the battle-scarred trashed out streets around Azov to watch the soldiers surrender without having any idea if and when they would emerge? Where were all those crowds where the soldiers handed over their weapons and got searched? Or when the buses drove by? Not only were there not crowds, there was not a single person witnessing.

Wonder if we'll ever find out who was in that closed vehicle...
Wonder if we'll ever find out what the bioweapon program was about, how the Bidens were involved, if it is/was connected to Wuhan outbreak or perhaps a different one in Europe but described as the same. Aye, we wonders...

Interesting comment from Army_Russia Telegram channel... It appears that the LDR found a computer in Kherson belonging to the SBU. Going through it they found a picture of some SBU guys holding a map showing a "new version of Ukraine" - which covers areas of Russia and Belarus... Picture is shown.
https://t.me/Army_Russia/26363

Detector Exclusive (https://t.me/detektor_tg).

An interesting photo was found as a result of an investigation of an office computer belonging to an employee of the SBU Department for the Kherson region Bezukh D.O.

The frame shows representatives of the still active special service with a map of Ukraine, the borders of which include the territories of the Rostov and Belgorod regions, the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea, parts of the Kursk and Voronezh regions,
as well as the southern regions of Belarus.

The likely shooting date is December 13, 2021,
which once again confirms the reality of the threats emanating from Kyiv.
It is noteworthy that one of the 1919 maps presented at the Paris Peace Conference was taken as the basis for the Ukrainian poster. In general, one more proof of the aggressive and far-reaching plans to create a "new just Ukrainian world", including at the expense of the territories of the states of the fraternal Slavic peoples.

"I am not sure what to make of the Polish/Zelensky joint forces talk other than it is likely a lie or a dope fueled imagination experiment. "

Or this is all elaborately staged kabuki and the PTB already know the end result and this is merely foreshadowing that so it doesn't come as a bolt from the blue. Looks like Ukraine is going to get partitioned. Poland in the West; Ukraine in the middle still with Kiev; Novorussiya in the East and South. And if Ukraine keeps resisting then Kiev might go and with it the entire country will be relocated to Z's cookie cutter McMansion in Miami.

I think the West needs the conflict to last until October-November, so it needs another four months of kinetics. If RF keep advancing at about 2 km a day on average and then there is a final collapse of morale in September, that should do the trick.

(PS I don't mean that soldiers aren't really fighting and dying nor that their sacrifice is a joke etc., just that as is more often the case than not in such matters, the elites have entirely different level of agenda and perspective than that which is shared to the public via media and often history we see that opposing sides on the battlefield actually coordinate quite a bit outside public view - money, gas supply, timing of campaigns etc.)

Have no expertise in this area and don't care one way or another but in a recent interview Russell 'Texas' Bradley reported that the M777 was the only weapon really giving them headaches. One shot flattens an entire house or craters a road making it impassable. So maybe some units know what they are doing with it and some don't. Most likely it is too cumbersome and they will get picked off fairly rapidly from above, but before then some of them are doing some damage. None will change the overall dynamic or outcome but they might cause more unnecessary deaths.

From Colonel Cassad Telegram channel... Russian Duma considers not paying its foreign debt until Russian assets are unfrozen...

“Why does Russia keep paying off its public debt?” - such a question was raised today in the State Duma.

Nikolai Kolomoitsev, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, proposed not to pay external debt to unfriendly countries until they unfreeze our assets.

Vyacheslav Volodin reacted: he instructed two committees to study this possibility - on the budget and taxes, and on the financial market.

People seem to have forgotten the concept of "acceptable losses"... Give me numbers of dead Russians, LDR or Chechens directly attributable to M777 howitzers, or for that matter, numbers of anything destroyed by them that is directly affecting the conduct of any given tactical operation, let alone operational level.

Otherwise I call bullshit, they're no more effective (due to a slightly longer range than some Russian artillery) than anything else on the field. Reread that post - their rate of fire is ridiculously slow. How many were sent? 90? It's a drop in the bucket.

"Global Nazism..."

Gad-zooks. I just keep hoping there are other discerning readers amongst the bar paying close attention to the willful idiocy of those who can't seem to separate the globalists from the nationalists.

But when it is the nationalists who are really your enemy, just use "Nazi" to confound and carry on. "60% of the time, it works every time!"

Most of the aging contributors here are broken on the shore of the fact that ww2 had three main beligerents where the blame could perhaps be laid equally at each of their feet. But the spotless victim in the Soviets carries on and informs the ongoing unreality of deluded international leftists the world over.

When nationalism emerges out of the ashes of this globalist epoch, I will buy the bar a round and you will never see me again. We will all be much happier then. Cheers!

From Intel Slava Z Telegram channel... From the horse's mouth...

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Patrushev said that the DPR and LPR have the right to demand from the West, which sponsored the Ukrainian Nazis, reparations for 8 years of aggression on their territories.

A little earlier, Patrushev said that Russia does not need to rush somewhere in Ukraine, all the initial goals of the operation will be achieved as part of the consistent and calm development of operations. Nazism in Ukraine should be 100% eradicated.

Another appeal of the hohols to Zelensky, this time the 71st Jaeger Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine complained that they were forced to go with machine guns against the artillery of the Russian Armed Forces.

No one provides cover, they have no armored vehicles, armored personnel carriers and tanks, and for the whole brigade there are only mortars, which are not always serviceable. Soldiers on camera ask how they can fight if no one even remembers about them. The military also noted that they receive only verbal orders without any documents.

From Donbass Insider Telegram channel... Europe pays for its stupidity... How do you like Ukrainians now?

European countries can no longer cope with the flow of refugees from Ukraine

Europe is sounding the alarm bell over the influx of Ukrainian refugees. Some countries are running out of money promised for Ukrainian migrants and others are struggling to move them

According to the UN, 14 million Ukrainians have fled their homes since February 24. The EU has proven ill-prepared to take in such numbers of refugees

In the EU, looting and attacks on shops by Ukrainian nationals increased due to the shortage of housing the countries could provide them

EU member state governments and various social funds and services have created a job quota for refugees, at the expense of their citizens, so that they can secure their own accommodation

However, the Ukrainians who have arrived refuse to take up jobs and demand allowances to support themselves free of charge, which leads to a deterioration in the attitude of residents of European states towards refugees

For example, in the United Kingdom, immigrants who arrived under the “Home for Ukraine” program were thrown out by the local population due to the violation of “British standards” and the increase in aggressive behavior of new arrivals

Some French residents who have hosted refugees from Ukraine say their expenses have increased almost fivefold, while refugees receive a monthly allowance of 426 euros.

I am delighted to confirm the imminent collapse of the Ukranian army. I can do this with confidence because the BBC sent their duplicitous, evil liar-in-the-field, Jeremy Bowen, to (somewhere vaguely close to) the front lines to do a report on Ukranian casualties. It showed ranks of new graves, lines of empty graves awaiting their guests, and talked about mass casualties and destruction of Ukrainian units. All couched in sympathetic, plucky, against - the - odds terms, but for the first time an admission that Russia is "making progess".

I think the goose may have been cooked.

One should not forget there is cemetery in Timor-Leste full to the brim of victims from his generous donation to Indonesia. Or the gift of a former Portuguese Colony. Kissinger, Blinken, Albright, Yellen, zelinsky, sarkozy . The neo- cons and so many more are Jews. The puppets include Bolton, Biden, Trump, Obama, Johnson and all the rest. What is it that you don't understand?

Kissinger was the brains behind the carpet bombing of Cambodia/ Laos and was key in the killing of 4 million in Vietnam. Have you no conscience?

Kissinger went to China to get the yellow people help to destroy the USSR. This was after Russia betrayed China. It was also to promote American businesses, and we all know how that turned out.

Kissinger sees which way the wind is blowing and is trying for his world to seek a different path. Negotiations, but then the Davos puppets want to prolong the inevitable.

The USA cut and ran from Afghanistan and left your allies to fend for themselves, but yet they rally together in this white doomed cause. Do you think that the coloured people around the world, buy your racism? The cries from the west about Africa starving is a cry to get their hands on Ukrainian wheat.

Ukraine has blockaded many foreign ships from leaving the port of Odessa, and mined it too. Turkey is one of the few impediments obstructing Russia and China and will pay a severe price, in the future.

If, some of you think that you have the power to do what your puppets say everyday then do it. I believe that some polish forces went into western Ukraine and were destroyed by missiles. So keep " bringing it on", as your hero G.Bush once uttered.

In the meantime 21 dead in a Texas school shooting and many more to come. That is your great society. If there is any consolation, Canada is not far behind. You do have friends on your titanic.

From Donbass Insider Telegram channel... Interesting comments on the number of Russian forces involved vs what Russia has in reserve...

Blocked on the territory of Russia «Medusa» continues sabotage activities on the Russian audience

Political scientist Alexey Zhivov @zhivoff especially for the channel Soroca-beloboka @soroka_belaya

The dissemination of fakes about the Russian army, sergeants and officers of the Russian armed forces is an important part of the Ukrainian military propaganda.

The «Project» edition under the editorial of «Medusa» has made a 10-minute «investigative clip» (https://ww.youtube.com/watch?v=gNQsJQDFavc). Major Ukrainian channels actively dispersed it.

The key thesis of the video: in Russia the entire Russian army is fighting, they have left the regions unprotected; all combat-capable units of the Armed Forces are involved in the Special Military Operation.

Serious analysis and proof of «Project» does not bother itself.

A typical mechanism looks like this: thesis - example - an example - inference. Graphics, images, and voice are always used to hide the insufficiency of the argument. This achieves the emotional involvement of the viewer, who takes the «magic of the video» on faith, without exposing the seen and heard critical analysis.

Ukrainian propaganda uses the principle of active mixing of «honey and shit» in a single information boiler. Borscht of the Ukrainian propaganda is prepared as follows: 33% of pure lies, 33% of half-truths, and 33% of the truth.

It is enough for most of the audience to draw a beautiful infographic with tanks and symbols of combat units, to include in the video a few unrelated shots from the combat zone to prove «the truth» of the statement that all combat-capable units of the Russian army are fighting in Ukraine.

What is the reality?

The total number of Russian troops in the Special Military Operation zone, including all types of special units and related security structures, does not exceed 200,000 people. One third of them are logistical support. The contingent of the Defense Ministry does not exceed 100 thousand people.

An estimate of the total size of the Russian army for 2022 is 1 million. This does not include military-civilian specialists.

In the ground forces serves about 300,000 people. Up to a third are fixed-term employees who are not involved in the operation. The entire military group of the Defense Ministry on the territory of Ukraine is 100,000 people, including representatives of other branches of troops. Even assuming that they all serve in the ground forces, Russia has engaged in a Special Military Operation with only a third of its ground army.

Another thesis deserves consideration: «Russia has transferred all combat-capable combat aviation to Ukraine».
Falsehood.
Two weeks ago, all Ukrainian TV channels in a single gust screamed: «The Russians simultaneously lifted into the air 20 aircraft of the Space Force - this is the largest amount of combat aviation in the air since the beginning of the Special Military Operation».

Here you can make several interesting conclusions at once:
First, Ukraine does not have the physical ability to monitor Russian warships. The only source they could get that kind of intelligence from was the Pentagon.
Second, the Armed Forces of Russia has 1800 combat aircraft! And the operation involves no more than 100 units.
The Russian Army has over 800 fighters in service, and another 1,500 attack and military-transport helicopters.

Conclusions.
The Ukrainian propaganda by lies, distortion of facts and media manipulations convinces that Russia «has used the whole army, has exposed the rear, and is close to the exhaustion of forces».

In fact, the operation in Ukraine employs from 10 to 30% of the country’s military potential, which, after the start of the Special Military Operation, grew markedly. Ukraine has so far seen only young contract workers and professional soldiers, but soon it will see hundreds of thousands of angry Russian male volunteers, who have become too eager to avenge the torture of our soldiers. It’s gonna hurt.

Reuters has a headline saying that Ukraine is gathering dead Russian military in hopes of exchanging them for prisoners.......

Somehow that attitude fits with the senseless killings in Texas today....yes, the US as the current face of Hand, The Invisible, is a very sick society. That said, the UK, Occupied Palestine and the EU countries all are affected by the same disease, the God of Mammon cult of global private finance (BIS, SWIFT, IMF, World Bank).

What the residents of empire need to wake up to is the percentage of humans 80-90%) that don't agree with their form of social organization with private finance at the core. The God of Mammon cult has used their power over governments, media and corporations to compromise, corrupt or zombify a big enough portion of the public in the West to keep them in control until now.

The shit show continues until it doesn't and I think that Ukraine is the fuse to a big showdown neutering the bully shit show hosts.

Of course, this is the biological-evolutionary principle.
One only needs to deconstruct the (allegedly) binnary myth of "Adam & Eve" underpinning much of the western/European worldview to see the game in progress: Adam-Lilith-Eve; Ibrahim-Sarah-Hagar (the daughter of the king of Egypt); and if you like even in Sri Lanaka (king Vijaya-Kuveni-and a Pandya dynasty princess).

Of interest in the current Middle-east context is that some of the Kurds (e.g., Yazidi) trace their ancestory to Adam, but not Eve. So, the great evolutionary game goes on between the children of competing female linages. The extant anti-male BS in some western domains is simply epistemic dysfunctionality that serves certain power-seeking interests.

90 TB2 attack UAV were destroyed by Russian air defense systems since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine.

This was reported by a source of RIA Novosti. He clarified that this number does not include UAVs that were eliminated "in hangars on the ground with high-precision cruise missiles."

According to him, Bayraktar are relatively large, they are slow and poorly maneuverable and can only attack one target at a time, so on repeated visits they are shot down by Russian air defense systems "with a 100% probability."

Possibly but Putin’s made that sort of concession before and received little of value in return.

It’s also possible that DoD finally realised Azovstal was making their whole dirty war effort look bad. The presence of human shields was impossible to conceal and their refusal to surrender was becoming less credible over time.

The final videos of seriously injured soldiers was extremely distressing ... I initially took it as some species of despicable Kiev snuff propaganda but finally interpreted it as a plea to be allowed to turn themselves in (I.e. without their whole family being raped to death in reprisal).

If there is a deal on anonymity, I’m inclined towards there being more in return than just a tidy surrender. RF seemed content either way, on that score.

Craig Murray was a British diplomat in one of the Stans, I can't recall now if Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan, and as such is naturally not a big fan of Russia. It is actually interesting that his position has shifted from a formal international law position (no acceptance of the Russian seizure of the Crimea) to a more pragmatic position (accept that the Crimea is Russian but insist that Ukraine retains the Donbass, albeit with autonomy and guaranteed political and cultural rights for Russian-speakers). It's totally unrealistic, but at least it shows that Murray is capable of changing his mind in a healthy direction.

'Russia’s RIA Novosti is carrying some quotes from Rodion Miroshnik. He is the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic’s ambassador to Russia. He has said that their forces, alongside the Russian army and fighters from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic have broken through Ukrainian defences in the Luhansk region. He posted to Telegram:

Ukrainian defence is crumbling. An active assault on Zolote is underway. The peacekeeping forces are advancing towards Maloryazantsevo, Volcheyarovka. What part of the Ukrainian military formations left these settlements, and what part remained, is not yet known exactly, but the trend is clearly visible....

Yesterday close ally of Putin, Dmitry Medvedev, said that any peace would have to recognise that “final” decisions had already been made about the future of the breakaway regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, and that any peace deal that suggested Russia should pull out of Crimea would be treated as a threat of war....

Russian troops are advancing in eastern Ukraine and attacking key cities, particularly the industrial city of Severodonetsk, the AFP has reported.'

As I've been saying for some time now, the Rusisans will want this all wrapped by by the Autumn because of General Winter, and they will want the bulk of the fighting done by July or August at the latest, which leaves September and October for 'mopping up' operations. The most crucial battles are/will be fought in May and June.

The Ukraine has now lost this war, and it's all over. Now the political battles begin.

Fantastic, thanks!

Karl kudos for the polite invitation to Selenia, I hope the word spreads in RF that the west is not universally antagonistic.

All, if the bar is to host foreign speakers an effort to correct typos and malapropisms would help them follow the comments.

@228 uncle tungsten: "I am not sure what to make of the Polish/Zelensky joint forces talk other than it is likely a lie or a dope fueled imagination experiment."

Oh, that's an easy one: the Poles are angling to see if there is a possibility of taking control - if not outright annexation - of the western half of Ukraine.

Think of it this way: the Poles are hoping to do to Ukraine in 2022 what Molotov and Ribbentrop did to Poland in 1939. Only they think that if they are reallllllllly subtle about it then nobody will even notice.

Well, obviously not Zelensky, but he never counted for anything in the greater scheme of things.

A most lively discussion.............

Dr Adrien ZENZ : Said to be a fluent 'mandarin(fruit?) speaker'. A fervent rabid anti 'prc' . His textbook has highly selective statistics usage to skew the view!!!!!!!!!!

In other news "The turnaround in the conflict with Russia is going to happen in August, the head of Ukrainian military intelligence claims". Then again this would show that country 404 would cease to exist as viable nation .........

Truth sure is stranger than fiction........

There may be no route to surrender in the near future for the Ukrainian forces.

"Deputies from Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky's party have proposed a new law to allow commanders to KILL their soldiers in order to stop mass surrender by Ukrainian troops and flight from their positions.

The bill has the number 7351 and was published on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada, which is the Ukraine legislature as shown below:"

A interesting take on the $40 billion for Ukraine and where some of it will end up (From the Saker Pepe Escobar).

"Ukraine is the Holy Grail of international corruption. That $40 billion can be a game-changer for only two classes of people: First, the US military-industrial complex, and second, a bunch of Ukrainian oligarchs and neo-connish NGOs, that will corner the black market for weapons and humanitarian aid, and then launder the profits in the Cayman Islands.

A quick breakdown of the $40 billion reveals $8.7 billion will go to replenish the US weapons stockpile (thus not going to Ukraine at all); $3.9 billion for USEUCOM (the ‘office’ that dictates military tactics to Kiev); $5 billion for a fuzzy, unspecified “global food supply chain”; $6 billion for actual weapons and “training” to Ukraine; $9 billion in “economic assistance” (which will disappear into selected pockets); and $0.9 billion for refugees."

Someone did a breakdown that I posted in an earlier thread. The total of actual money to Ukraine is $17B, barely $4B more than the $13B already sent to them - not a "game changer", to use Ritter's fatuous phrase.

The Ukrainian grain " LOL You mean the Monsanto, Bayer, Carghill, DuPont, John Deere grain shipments. Prior to the Maidan , even China was in a contract with Prez. Januk to lease up to 100,000 hectares of farmland and to build all the infrastructure to and from a port in Autonomous Crimea { which had already begun}. So we can see that the Maidan also had a priority to kick China out of Ukraine , in order to make way for the Western globalists and their security agency - the US Navy. There is sooo much more to the Yanukovych presidency that has Not been told.

Richard Steven Hack (275).

Thank you for the update.

Meanwhile Nike is pulling out of Russia.

"American clothing and footwear manufacturer Nike has not renewed its franchise agreement with Inventive Retail Group (IRG), writes the newspaper "Vedomosti" with reference to the letter of the President of IRG Tikhon Smykov to the company's employees.
"Such a decision he (Smykov - Approx. ed.) explains by the fact that Nike can not "in the foreseeable future" organize the supply of goods to Russia," the article says.
IRG owns the country's largest monobrand chain of stores of the American manufacturer."

The Polish PM is becoming increasingly more vocal on Russia in a belligerent way I think.

"Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki calls on the country's opposition forces to support the confiscation of Russian property.
It is planned that on Thursday the parliament Poland will consider amendments to the Constitution that will allow the confiscation of Russian property. Such changes are expected to be opposed by some opposition groups, which said they "do not want to change the constitution together with those who violate it," referring to the ruling party.Law and Justice". According to the latest data, a total of property belonging to Russian business entities and individuals worth about 140 million zlotys (about 33 million dollars) has been frozen in Poland."

I think we all suspected that the OSCE isn't a impartial organisation.

A Lugansk team staffer of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (OSCE SMM), detained on suspicion of high treason, has provided classified information to an agent of US special services, the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) ministry of state security said on Tuesday.

According to the ministry’s statement, LPR security services "exposed and documented facts of how US special services used a member of the OSCE SMM’s Lugansk team to gather intelligence data about units of the LPR People’s Militia."

The ministry said that an LPR resident surnamed Petrov, who worked as an interpreter for the misision, has established "confidential relations" with US citizen George Lewitski, a deputy head of the OSCE mission’s Lugansk office. LPR intelligence established that Lewitski had many years of military experience in his country’s armed forces and held various offices at the Defense Intelligence Agency in the past.

"In accordance with the task set by his US curator, Petrov gathered and transferred to him a summary of classified information about the Second Army Corps of the Lugansk People’s Militia. The translator obtained the classified information in conversations with LPR servicemen and while observing regular patrols along the line of contact as a member of the OSCE mission," the LPR ministry said.

The US to make it almost impossible for Russia to pay its debt payments on bonds by blocking Russian payments.

"A former US sanctions official says the United States is pushing Russia toward default by blocking debt payments, as Washington ups the ante in its economic warfare against Moscow over the conflict with Ukraine.

The US Treasury Department on Tuesday announced it would no longer allow Russia to make debt payments owed to American bondholders, The Washington Post reported.

Moscow has so far successfully managed to make its international bond payments despite the US-led sanctions that have hindered the process though.

Russia has not defaulted on its external debt for more than 100 years. It has several billions of international bonds and last month made overdue bond payments to avoid default.

However, Russia was facing a May 25 deadline when a US license allowing it to make payments is set to expire.

The Treasury move will make it almost impossible for Russia to avoid a default on May 25 when a US license allowing it to make payments is set to expire.

The Russian government owes a total of about $20 billion worth of bonds, mostly in dollars, and it owes about $500 million in interest payments over the next month, according to Gerard DiPippo, a senior fellow with the economics program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies."

The SS Division Galicia used the Ukrainian Flag with colors upside down in WW2. When Zelensky visited Bucha in April the military guys who accompanied him also had the flag patch upside down on their shoulders. Later, in a video where Ukrainians and Georgian volunteers killed Russian POWs on a street, they also had the flag upside down on their uniforms.

European gas companies now beginning to fall into line on paying for Russian gas in Rubles, the hegmonic idiots that run most of the EU countries now realise that they cannot get by without Russian gas.

European energy companies have agreed to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s demands on gas payments to “avoid more gas shut-offs,” according to a new report.

"The companies agreed to go along with the special mechanism set up by Russia to enable them to settle their gas payments, rowing back from the European Union’s strict policy of shunning Moscow over its military operation in Ukraine, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday.

The shift came after Poland and Bulgaria had their gas supplies cut in late April by the Russian energy giant Gazprom after refusing to accept the new payment system. Finland was subject to a similar cutoff this week in retaliation for its ambitions to join the Western military alliance of NATO."

Bonus points: the upside-down Ukie flag is/was used by the Azov naughties (just check their insignia colours, you'll notice they're inverted, often with a pale version of the Black Sun across the blue part to mimic a sunrise). I guess that Pentagon meeting signified the US-Azov alliance.

There is a pattern here because the swastika itself is an inversion of an ancient Indian symbol, and the name "swastika" is also derived from the name of the ancient Indian symbol (the Thai greeting "sawatdee" has the same etymology), which represents 4 candles burning on the rim of a turning cartwheel, and represents good luck. In the original Indian symbology reversing the image signifies instead bad luck - that seems to have been a deliberate intention of the SS cadres/Hitler who adopted the symbols, though I have no idea why - it must be intrinsic to the Nazi ideology. Hitler had a fascination with Buddhism, rebirth and Indian symbolism, and sent SS cadres to India and China to research and to develop relations; they returned with letters of goodwill addressed to Hitler from the Supreme Patriarch of Buddhism from China and from the Dalai Lama. Many Buddha images have the Indian version (i.e. non-inverted) marked on the chest as an auspicious symbol, but never inverted. The symbol itself however is far older than Buddhism.

I agree with Posted by: William Gruff | May 24 2022 17:23 utc | 68 that the inversion was a deliberate act of protest by US professional soldiers against the disreputable behaviour of Ukraine and support for such disreputable behaviour by their bosses. Austen probably didn't notice.

May just be a coincidence - the armoured car with secret surrenderees and the erection of the the 2 stars by the CIA - who gives a shit? We all know they have their dirty bloody finger prints all over most of the shit that has happened in the world since they became the new brand praetorians of the forever Owners of the World and all its peoples are just slaves and dumb animals to them.

Spooky fuckers better get a whole new wall and a bigger bucket full of stars ... the World has really bad enough of their centuries long Implacable Exceptionalism and refuses to remain their Slaves a generation longer.

All they can do is to build a big wall around us and tell us that outside are monsters and they are called Russia and China , that all things Russia and China are EVIL..that we should remain in our own little parishes and not move without permission ...and to enable that we are to be deprived of cash, liquid and anonymous as it is and be biometrically linked with our bank accounts - the cards would not work outside of our parish unless enabled to the privileged few...

It is of course insane but so they have always been. They burn Rome and fiddle on our roofs by pointing us ‘over there’ , ‘them’ , ‘their your enemy’ - ‘Not Us’ we aren’t even ‘your leaders’ - being utterly brainwashed idiots from the moment we are born and raised by our idiocy believing parents, culture, academia and Media - we will believe it and condemn our kids and grandkids to be the willing serfs of these very few who hide behind our ‘leaders’.

I may be too old to learn Chinese and Russian but with modern translation tools I guess I’ll get by when I move to the land of cheap gas , electric, real food but what am I going to do about my real 🍺 ?? Lager, Vodka and whatever Chinese prefer won’t be to my taste and will make me ill!
Yeah , ‘1st World problem’ 😆
