I don't get "ha-ha" out of it. 2 dead Russian gas execs and their families dead in short order. Then 2 fires in Russia, one at a research facility for missile tech and another at Russia's largest chemical processing plant.

Regardless of Newsweek's slant on it, somebody's playing dirty pool. Doubtful this is getting by the Russians.

Posted by: Woogs | Apr 21 2022 22:41 utc | 126

That smells exactly like CIA. Maybe with MI6 help. I get the reasoning for the fires, but why the assasinations of Russian gas executives? What the CIA rationale for killing Russian gas executives?

Ha Ha newsweek turns it into a 'Putin did it" story in typical lame style.
So if the cia tribune (newsweek) is saying that then I guess it is a UKUSA hit.

Posted by: uncle tungsten | Apr 21 2022 22:24 utc | 117

What's the motivation for Putin to kill his own overseas oligarchs? He hasn't killed one of them ever in all his time in office. Why start now? Why would the CIA do it? False flag to blame Putin?

You want to see what the Ukrainian fortifications look like in Donbass? Army_Russia Telegram channel has a video...
https://t.me/Army_Russia/22390

I uploaded the video to my Google Drive. Here is the link (37.8MB Mp4 video):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Lw0ms3SZNo8MgGDAMduJT2xrOJZM_aAZ/view?usp=sharing

This is how the fortified area left by the Ukrainian militants looks like, the nationalists retreated after the assault and threw a lot of foreign weapons, grenade launchers and armored plates.

The body armor plate shown is US issue.

In 1945 OSS was not exactly experienced......it relied on MI6 and the Gehlen Organisation it had recruited into its ranks - Operation Rusty, Operation Zipper.

"Operating until 1956, when it was superseded by the BND, the Gehlen Organisation was allowed to employ at least 100 former Gestapo or SS officers. ... Among them were Adolf Eichmann’s deputy Alois Brunner, who would go on to die of old age despite having sent more than 100,000 Jews to ghettos or internment camps, and ex-SS major Emil Augsburg. ... Many ex-Nazi functionaries including Silberbauer, the captor of Anne Frank, transferred over from the Gehlen Organisation to the BND. ... Instead of expelling them, the BND even seems to have been willing to recruit more of them – at least for a few years".

Some point out that Civil War was instigated by Great Britain to prevent Union/North from developing manufacturing capability eliminating need of South to sell their staples to GB in return for manufactures.

You imply Americans are stupid and easily manipulated by the British, the Ukrainians, Israelis, Vladimir Putin - and that Americans have no cognitive awareness or decision-making capacity and are simply idiots needing a guiding brain.........that seems to be your thesis.

In fact you fail to see the Settler Culture of the USA that seeks to expand - that is the basis of Israel too - it was the structure of Mein Kampf - Lebensraum because German agriculture would not sustain a growing population.

The US Civil War was instigated to overthrow the Confederate nature of the original Constitution of USA whereby the South which was richer than the north wanted Free Trade especially with cotton mills of Lancashire and the North wanted Tariffs and to develop an industrial base by seizing the wealth of the South.

Funnily enough US usually put tariffs on British exports for goods it did not produce itself thinking that it could fund itself through Tariffs on goods in inelastic demand instead of Income Taxes - this situation existed until 1913 when Federal Income Tax was introduced. It was exactly what Prussia/Germany did with Tariffs after 1879 and why it had such a poorly funded tax base to fund World War One so ended up issuing Promissory Notes instead of proper Debt Funding.

It is cartoon history to think Britain instigated a US Civil War. What Britain did do was to support Texas Independence until 1846 when it joined the Union (and now reconsiders) because British policy since George III agreed a Treaty with the Indians to block expansion west of Mississippi to protect their homelands - and American Colonists declared independence to renege on the deal.

WJ. [187]

The SAS and Delta are in Ukraine and have been since February

You must have interesting sources. Deployment of SAS is highly secret information and news media are served with "DA Notices" to make any reference criminal. No-one ever admits where SAS are deployed which is why I take recent comments with a grain of salt - also why SAS are needed to train in use of NLAW beats me.

I suspect SAS are in Romania flying in low-level helicopters towards Odessa - I doubt serving SAS are near Kiev - maybe former SAS now with a mercenary outfit but not serving SAS

From Bloomberg today:

Poland Seeks EU Support to Help Ukraine Refugees (8:37 a.m.)

Poland has asked the European Commission to use the money from seized Russian reserves and assets to help finance aid for Ukrainian refugees, Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski told Rzeczpospolita newspaper.

The country’s prime minister wrote to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen last week, estimating the cost of aid this year at 11 billion euros ($11.97 billion), or as much as 24 billion were the situation in Ukraine to worsen, according to the paper.

About 2.8 million people have arrived in Poland from Ukraine since Feb. 24, although some have started to cross back.

Trudeau most likely a son of Castro (really!).

Posted by: Scorpion | Apr 21 2022 21:51 utc | 102

As funny and popular as that meme is, it is false. Justin was 5 when the family first went to Cuba.

The "out-there" theory that Castro was in fact a CIA asset has more credibility. The basis was that they wanted a local example of the failure of Communism. Similarly, Haiti, the location of a successful slave rebellion, has remained in abject poverty ever since.

In the interest of diffusing the hysteria of war, I will again digress to the animal kingdom for inspiration.

We are in the Chinese Year of the Tiger. This year the Eastern Economic Forum hosted by Russia in Vladivostok will pay tribute to the Year of the Tiger by holding the 2nd International Tiger Conservation Forum on the opening day of the EEF, September 5, 2022.

I’m hoping that by then Russia will have succeeded with the Special Military Operation in Ukraine, and hostilities will be in the rear view mirror replaced with diplomacy front and center, and the EEF will be held as scheduled.

India and China especially, should be present at that conference on tiger preservation, since I think India has the largest tiger population in the wild followed by Russia and China. Of course, the U.S. has the largest tiger population in captivity followed by China.

So in the spirit of the Year of the Tiger and the goal of the Tiger Conservation forum; to preserve the Siberian Panthera tigris tigris, and especially in honor of all misunderstood creatures everywhere, I’m quoting the following with my bold emphasis:

The Tyger by William Blake

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

The tiger has a terrible reputation as a fierce, carnivorous predator, and man-eater when threatened. So why is it being re-introduced into the wild after becoming almost extinct?

Could it be that this formidable, awe-inspiring animal is an indispensable part of creation that never should have been demonized, messed with or cancelled?

Okay, so enough with the allegory, here's a response from another smaller, but just as deadly-if-provoked creature of the wild; viperidae crotalus: Don't tread on Russia…USNATO!

Just want to end on this note. The U.S. isn't only worried about Russia's advanced weapons; include now the ICBM recently tested. The Russians' pain threshold, tested by fire enduring through multiple generations really scares Americans, because like Israelis, American tolerance for pain on the battlefield today, is really low and not what it used to be. Russia is a fighting machine, and the U.S. better not overstep in Ukraine.

I personally don't care about someone's sexual situation. It's irrelevant to anything, and since I don't have any "moral" or "ethical" notions, I don't care about that, either. But this is very conservative Russia, so that's what you get. To some extent, this is a "conflict of civilizations", as people like Martyanov and Raevsky talk about constantly. Some of them seem to have the attitude that it's some kind of "holy war" against the West. I ignore all that. That's their problem. They just best not try to impose that stuff - or any stuff - on me.

This "journalist" is a psychopathic idiot, transgender or not, does not make a difference. Sure, we are not the intended audience, but still.

If you are writing of Michael Cirillio, poker player from Las Vegas I suggest you refrain from the word "journalist". If you compare and contrast Michael Cirillio with what now passes as a chemically-castrated version of himself you should have some alarm bells ringing.

You bend over backwards to be so in-tune with ideological mantras that you ignore physical realities and may as well go back to pagan mysticism. You should look at the drug cocktails required to effect nature-reversal therapy - oestrogen, anti-androgens, GnRH Agonists, progesterones, - and assess what regular use of such chemicals does to the human body and brain.

This is not simply changing polarity on a battery. Look at the bulk of Michael Cirillio before and after - these are huge physical changes which have a serious impact on the human body.

If Maria Zakharova as a woman feels affronted she has every right to be. That might be a fundamental difference from the West where drug use is so widespread especially in Media and Politics that the serfs have learned not to question their lords and masters - and end up with Hunter Biden protracted by the Democratic Party and President of the United States

Washington has signalled that any firms worldwide doing business with Russia could in future be cut off from US trade — the same way they were over Iran in the past.

-----Thorough conviction that perception trumps reality
widespread belief that "you can be anything you want to be",

After the crash of Lehman, that was all modern economics had to offer - a need to believe the economy was doing good. Because they had managed to purge all criticism from the collective mind, that's what happened.

Why I think Gonzalo Lira didnt pull a Jussie Smollett:

1. Azov members claimed knowing about his whereabouts right after April 15th, when nobody knew that he was abducted.
2. US trans female close to Azov claimed that she knew as well that he was taken by SBU right at the same time, when his case wasnt known at all.
3. Ukraine could have easily stated that they didnt know about his status after Scott Ritter claimed that he was abducted, tortured and murdered. But Ukraine did not.
4. Gonzalo Lira explictly says that he can only tell that he is ok, nothing more. So he clearly isnt allowed to go into details.
5. He is back from a white wall behind him (had that for cpl of weeks) to is usual furniture in the background, so it seems like he is back to is apartment.

I'm sure I'm not the first to point it out, but Col Cassad says Gonzalo haas turned up:

Gonzalo Lira is alive - the Chilean stringer got in touch and told about the detention of the SBU

Stringer Gonzalo Lira, who worked in Kharkov and held views contrary to the Kiev regime, got in touch after a week of searching for him. He stated that he was detained by the SBU on April 15 at about 13:00, but he could not publicly talk about the reasons for the detention . All this time he could not go into the information space, because the Ukrainian security forces took away all his equipment . Now he has found a new laptop and got in touch.

“I want to say, physically I’m fine, a little disheveled. I was picked up by the SBU on Friday, April 15, somewhere after one in the afternoon local time ,” Lira said.

Recall that earlier there were reports on the network aboutthe kidnapping and murder of an American journalist of Chilean origin, Gonzalo Lira, who published materials with sharp criticism of the Kiev regime and the work of the Ukrainian military in Kharkov . Both the Chilean Foreign Ministry and social media users from around the world joined in his search , posting the hashtag #WhereIsGonzaloLira

Well, just watched Gonzalo's video with Alex. Didn't have too much to say, just four minutes. He did say ignore everything on his various accounts that may have occurred after April 15 because anything after that is not him. So the guy who popped up on Twitter is definitely a fake. He's still in Karkhov. He said he's physically fine but "rattled". He said he doesn't have his phone or his laptop and no access to his old social media accounts. He has no access to his email accounts, but he created a new one and that's how he contacted Alex. The authorities have told him he cannot leave the city.

No idea how he was doing the video. I have a suspicion - and it's only a suspicion - that he was giving the video under the control of the SBU. In other words, they were allowing him to do the video to provide "proof of life". Not sure why that would be, but he did say he couldn't say anything more than what he did, which to me is a "canary in the coal mine." In fairness, it could also be that he was so rattled by his experience that he was not in the frame of mind to say anything more. So perhaps we'll see.

My guess is it will be some time before we hear from him again. He's obviously under close observation from the SBU. I don't think he'll be doing any more videos in that situation.

Someone from behind the iron curtain pointed out that in the east people knew the media was full of propaganda, in they west they didn't.

---My point is to show that in most cases POTUS doesn't know what's being done behind his back or what was being done behind his predecessor's back, and that reality's been ongoing since 1945.

It's been going on a lot longer than that.

Wilson had probably no idea what went on at Jekyll Island

I will also strongly recommend Griffins interview with Norman Dodds who led the Tax-exempt foundation part of the investigation of Un-American activities.
The tale he tells is a compelling one, and should be watched by everyone in the US.

---The "out-there" theory that Castro was in fact a CIA asset has more credibility. The basis was that they wanted a local example of the failure of Communism. Similarly, Haiti, the location of a successful slave rebellion, has remained in abject poverty ever since.

If he was, he must done like Saddam Hussein, or Manuel Noriega - gone rouge. Cuba is a well-functioning society.
As was demonstrated when Puerto-Rico and Cuba was hit by hurricane Maria.

In Cuba the power was down for a few days locally-because they had work-crews ready in every nook of then island.
while Puerto Rico suffered for many month, because of their dismal infrastructure.

The Great Divide enters its 3rd year.

G20 delineates. 5 eyes dragging their Neanderthal Euro cousins into their morlockian redoubts.
As they play God and plan to smite the 85% of humanity with pestilence and sickness.
Hoping to re-emerge into a depopulated world they can yet again take into slavery and through our fabled white tribes, including one of these lost ancients - who claim dominion over all the Earth and all its resource and life.

If you are young and want to see the world - don’t go to Oz or the other 5 eyes.
Go instead to Mesopotamia or Nicaragua and Venezuela or Russia! , try the un touristed places , take a back pack, travel with a couple of friends. Three is best as a group. Stay safe, learn. enjoy ...
Because the great divide will mean you won’t be allowed to go there by your own states for the next few generations. They may even make you climb down into catacombs where a fly will not enter - and tell you lies that you are the Elohim not the Morlok - because you are needed to be the slave masters for the slave owners.

Don’t listen to the Ken and Barbies who are given millions to tell you what to think - listen to the buzz of the many , in such places as this and the wise independent voices never allowed on MSM. Which is captured by the billionaire Owners and run by their propagandist presstitutes.

Travel now, as the Great Divide proceeds, by severing its heart and mind youth from its own body, like the demented Black Knight of Python era.

Attempts to embarrass and "internationally isolate" Russia with a G20 finance minister walk-out end in fiasco.

Largely unreported. I wonder why...

Whilst all of these 'news' stories 1 ,2 ,3 , comment on the walk-out, none mention that the international majority rejected the 'Nikki Haley-esq' foot stamping lead by the US.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki expressed support for the walkout, saying it was “an indication of the fact that Putin and Russia have become a pariah on the global stage”

No. Proof, if it was needed, that the US axis is shaped by Western vassals only. This is devastating for the effectiveness of sanctions. The EU is driving itself into the ground whilst the rest of the world moves forward.

Great post, though I note that your version of why Civil War happened and mine tapped with index finger on cell phone were remarkably similar. I haven't read about it for years and as a Brit am generally a bit ignorant of US history (despite American forebears) but seem to recall that GB provided considerable funding to get South up in arms.

Re cartoons: a close family member was stationed in US during WWII where amongst other things he worked on the infamous, and extremely cartoonish, Hitlers Map. Nearly all his colleagues, like himself, were upper middle and upper class public school boy types in the arts, mainly theater, writing and painting. MI6 et alia are known for elaborate cartoonish capers which become instigators of later and very gritty reality!

Again, appreciate the quality of yr post. This is a great board...

Russia has many advantages in this growing confrontation with the west, two of the biggest being their huge industrial base (which will require time to machine up completely but have no doubt this industrial base will machine up) and the military muscle to enforce its own decisions.

In my view, the west is simply not used to (nor does it like) being treated this way. We are witnessing what I can only describe as an emotion breakdown on a global scale.

Remember how we used to teach our infants, "use your words"? It's such a joy and wonder watching a baby learn to vocalize. Now look at what the west has in its dip-low-matic arsenal. Truely frightening.

Hitting a nerve here. I have a daughter who will turn two years in about three weeks. She is doing just that at the moment. Almost every day a new word.
I wonder in what kind of world she will grow up. Or if she will at all - in case this conflict get's out of hand.

"Now we have reports that migrating birds have been used as delivery platforms for viruses."

It may be of interest to know a late friend from Central Western NSW had a small group[5 or 6] of long beaked aggressive birds, [I forget the name] camp on the same space near his long driveway every year and attack passing cars. He told me they regularly migrated to Australia from Siberia. They were only a problem to humans if approached on foot, but other birds who knows?

Putin is boxing way above his weight. The Russian economy is darn right tiny, when compared to the US.America is fabulously wealthy & can play Putin at his game for just as long as it takes. The price of oil & wheat is not an issue & can be manipulated. The civilization & culture of Russia, is quite literally, on life-support. The invasion of the Ukraine has been a disastrous strategic & financial mistake & for which the Russian population is going to pay an enormous price. Personally, I can't see Russia being able to survive all this. The ineptness of the Russian military has been in plain sight for the whole world to see & is an humiliation for every Russian

Yeah, Sure. You can either believe reality or what you imagine when you close your eyes. Good luck with that.

If Russia was like the USNATO. Every city in Ukraine would not have a brick on top of another, there would be no able bodied men to receive these "aid shipments". Keep dreaming.

You absolute fool.

You can’t manipulate the price of something you don’t have enough of when you’re up against someone that does have enough of it and doesn’t need your valueless fiat “currency”.

True wealth is food, and after that energy. Which you’re about to find out I expect.

Russia can feed and heat it’s own resources, and almost no one else in the west can. And that’s before crop failures because of fertiliser shortages kick in.

Good luck!

I don't watch vids except of rare vid-worthy events (like the Beirut port-blast), because anyone who has time enough to sit around watching talking-heads deliver what could be read in transcript in one-tenth the time, and a clear, simple, concise, and thorough summary in one-tenth of that, values their time much less than I do.

Indeed, I consider video-only sites--no machine-transcripts even--to be contemptuous of their audience.

So I only know of Mr. Lira from posts about and sometimes quoting him.

But everything I've read about him, from dubious career to even more dubious role, of regular hostile war-reporting from besieged cities under the firm control of the NATO-trained and -advised Azovites and SBU, makes him prima facie a very dubious figure from the point of view of what Angleton called, borrowing the phrase from Eliot, the "wilderness of mirrors," of counterintelligence.

Could there an "exchange" in mind, like with Medvedchuk? maybe a two-fer?

I was just listening to the British Times Radio hosting Bill Browder (Browder lobbied for Congress to pass the Magnitsky Act, ) who has been doing some kind of character assassination on Putin to the effect that "Putin gets a cut from every criminal act of fraud committed in Russia":

(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uxF7mNuxSA , but only if you've had a stiff drink)

So, as I often do these days, I took a little peek at Browder's family origins:

William Felix Browder was born in Princeton, New Jersey, and he grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He is the son of mathematician Felix Browder, and the grandson of Earl Browder ...

Bill Browder's father was born in Moscow:

Felix Earl Browder was born in 1927 in Moscow, Russia, while his American father Earl Browder, born in Wichita, Kansas, was living and working there. He had gone to the Soviet Union in 1927.

His mother was Raissa Berkmann, a Russian Jewish woman from St. Petersburg whom Browder met and married while living in the Soviet Union ...

How come the same dots keep connecting over and over again ...?

Red alert:

Russian military is publishing info about USA moving in to start a properly crazy provocation with WMD.

Three scenarios given and their probability appraised.

If that happens, I think we'd be few breaths from nuclear war. If it swings that way, it was a pleasure to be lurking on this site and reading the very fine articles and comments.
