Yes the extreme rationalization of the logistics system has its flaws, but give that system a little more credit. The USG issued – very suddenly – a massive amount of stimulus (free money) and it got given to many, many people, and it got spent, suddenly, on stuff that comes from China. Not only were there issues with truck drivers, but railroad staff, etc. Many of the west coast ports were slammed way beyond their ability to respond. Not all of them, though, and that remains a mystery to me as to why Portland and Seattle and Vancouver and Prince Rupert seemed all OK, while Southern Cal was wiped out. Why didn’t the ships drive up the coast and unload there? So, it wasn’t all just-in-time’s fault, it was also Not Good At Adapting’s fault.
By contrast, UPS and FedEx seemed to handle the load pretty darn well. So, the dislocations weren’t evenly distributed.
Another point is that the logistics system is fabulously, enormously wonderfully effective and efficient. I have access to almost any part/component made world-wide from my desk, I can order and pay for it confidently, and a few days later – from whatever part of the world it came from… it shows up. It works. And that performance was just not possible a few short decades ago.
All the foregoing might be so, but it is also very much “so” that China is making great state-ordained investments to make transport, education, housing as inexpensive as possible. They’re building a very wise “commons”. Michael Hudson touches on this point a lot, and he’s right: it helps China’s international trade because the cost of living at the household level is reduced, so the Chinese worker can get paid less, and yet have a good, maybe better std of living.

I read the links you provided. Your main point, that thermodynamics counts, is quite valid. However, the collision with that reality – that our current economic system relies on highly concentrated energy (and materials) in order to function…that comeuppance may be delayed quite a while. In the continental US, the sun delivers 10,000 times more energy than we use each day.
Furthermore, we squander much, maybe most, of what we get from fossil fuels. There is plenty, and I mean “really plenty” of room for performance increases in how we operate our economy, and it can be done with technology at-hand, no further innovation required. We’ve got the tools right now.
So, I am not too freaked out about Thermodynamics. I’m freaked out about how incompetent we humans are, including and maybe starting with me. Pogo said it best, right? “We have met the enemy, and he is us”.
With respect to your website, which is a great effort and contains a lot of very useful information…
I had to read a lot of background, stage-setting material before I got to the actual points, and some of the parts – key sections of your delivery – were not accessible. Clicking on links to those key sections, which presumably contain great pearls of wisdom…led me to a sign-in screen. Nobody’s going to read your stuff if it’s behind a sign-in screen.

Meanwhile in the ME and Central Asia events are heating up. I’m sure b is on – be good to see an assessment of the various developments this January as we are sleepwalked in the West to new pastures of war spending and civilian casualties .
Kazakh LPG car fuel prices doubled in a poor region where every one drives with that fuel.

Also the Iraq Resistance Group (16 groups) which coalesced a year ago to avenge Solemani assassinations are daily stepping up Max Pressure on the stay behind US renamed ‘non-combat’ troops in Baghdad and Syrian border isis bases. They should have left on 31st Dec and the shots across the bow are getting daily closer- what will the non-combat troops (and more so the mercenaries they work with) do ?? Attack? How? They certainly can’t defend suicide drones and bigger missiles.
Let’s Go Brandon, get out before you have to carry them out in body bags, would be appropriate in this situation.

I expect the objective in Kazakhstan is to stock up on uranium for the green nuclear gambit lng diversification. Looks like the op could be successful — plenty of battle-tested assets having returned from service in Syria and a government that used nationalism to placate the populous similar to Ukraine. The next few days should determine the course of events over the next few years.

Speculation that any (or all) SARS variants may have been introduced by a human (not nature) force makes perfect sense even if the evidence is far from conclusive. The question has to be examined.
The speculation that Omicron is from the good guys while the rest of the variants originated from the bad guys (or from nature) seems to me to be not very well supported or refuted by the evidence. From a cui bono perspective, it has always seemed to me that covid has done more to undermine the power of the West than anything else that has come along in a long time. From where I sit, it looks like nobody wants the pandemic to end more than the western elites. The narrative that TPTB are benefiting from covid is just propaganda intended to get the masses to cooperate with any strategy to end the pandemic.
So if in fact Omicron is a human designed self administering vaccine against covid, I would put up the western intelligence services as the most likely force behind its creation.

I also think that you have misread and are confusing the virus (and variants) spreading through communities with lab-made versions used to study the virus.

To me it looks quite the opposite. In France or Switzerland, my feeling is that leaders got a mouthful of omnipotence thanks to this virus and they liked it very, very much.
In France, Véran, Castex and Macron seem to walk on clouds. Not a single qualm, not a doubt, they look hypnotised by their full powers, their arrogance is reaching new peaks every day. One would almost think they sincerely believe in what they do.
But their measures don’t make any sense at all. You’ve got to sit to drink in a bar where you aren’t allowed to… dance. Teachers got a list of rules to implement at school on Sunday 2nd while it started on the 3rd Jan. No popcorn in cinemas. No food in the train. The list goes on and on.
But yeah. They never looked more satisfied of themselves that during these covid years.

Excellent time line, the same Ukraine and Belarus script. The NEXTA channel in Telegram is in full swing, the first Nazarbayev statue is down, more to follow. Too bad he did not learned the Belarus lesson and did not stop in due time the “many vectorness” orientation.

Thanks for your info and commentary. I’ll add the tactics follow the scripted HK events, and we know where they were engineered. What’s exposed is the depth of penetration of 5th Columnists into ex-Soviet Republics and their amount of coordination and equipment, again much like HK.
I expect the CSTO/SCO to swiftly extinguish the flames and deal with the paid traitors followed by a very harsh crackdown on their suppliers–Western Embassies and NGOs.

What you say is true, but there are a few cravats.
First problem is performance. Battery at 30% isn’t as powerful as it is at 100%.
Then there is the issue of the battery itself. It is finite. Tesla charge £17k for a replacement. Ouch!
Finally is range and charging. I get about 750 miles to 50 litres of diesel. Takes me 5 minutes to fill and go. Your (desirable) acceleration is mute when your sat waiting for an hour to charge.

Or that each government was in charge of how they introduced the Virus to their own populations – they had it clearly planned well in advance what their different responses would be.

The alternative starting points from the ski slopes of Northern Italy. And other spots around the World.
Etc
It’s just too much like a fabulous fictional crime story.
What is needed is the clear Facts of where and when – which two years in – haven’t been presented yet!

In Ukraine the caught some”golden pheasants”, , which I understand were NATO and US/UK special ops boys.
There was a great deal of dealing and wheeling for the return of these precious feathered birds.
(I’d like to learn more about this, if anyone has the details).
It’d be great if a few “pheasants” were trapped in Kazakhstan (or nearby).

Thanks for your reply. That capture remains an unproven assumption, although NATO behavior at the time suggests it’s true. What recently was rather startling yet got almost no attention was Putin’s matter-of-fact statement in his year end presser that the Outlaw US Empire employed its Terrorist Foreign Legion during the battles with Chechnya. He was quite bold–“I know for a fact…,” and he’s reiterated that fact at least twice during the last week of 2021 in relation to the security demands. Putin agreed that what’s ongoing in Donbass is Genocide, but few have followed up, although Lavrov & Solovyev described its components. The Kaiser viewed what was to become WW1 as a struggle to the death between the Slavs and Teutons for mastery of Europe; Hitler’s views differed little. I’ve written about the larger context as have other historians, particularly Linebaugh and Rediker in The Many-Headed Hydra, when it comes to elite views of the masses–views that remain current today.
IMO, Ecological Overshoot has solutions, but the deeply ingrained prejudicial biases forming the basis for the 4,000+ yearlong Class War will be very difficult to purge as can be seen by their very longevity. IMO, China and Russia are on the proper path to deal with those twin problems, but they are being fiercely opposed by those who are far more evil than a Grinch or Scrooge.

It appears Kazakhstan produces 43% of the world’s uranium. Watch Australian mining company Okapi, which now mines uranium in the US, skyrocket.
BHP, the worlds largest mining company, has massive uranium deposits at Olympic Dam in South Australia.

I find the reaction, the confected outrage, the venom and various shades of opinion interesting. It depends if one is an enthusiastic, “jab em all” advocate or one who didn’t want to be injected and was forced to take it by unpopular mandates. Then there are the politicians who introduced the mandates.
It reminds me of The Paris ‘Peace’ Conference, where the participants conferred on themselves the right to confer ‘Mandates.’ That hasn’t ended well, there is still unfinished business from that crooked stitch up one hundred years later.
The victims of these ‘mandates’ had no say. So much for self determination, then or now.

In this study, we used the molecular spectrum of mutations of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant to trace its proximal host origins. We found that the molecular spectrum of pre-outbreak Omicron mutations was inconsistent with the rapid accumulation of mutations in humans, but rather suggested a trajectory in which the progenitor of Omicron experienced a reverse zoonotic event from humans to mice sometime during the pandemic (most likely in mid-2020) and accumulated mutations in a mouse host for more than one year before jumping back to humans in late-2021. While evolving in mice, the progenitor of Omicron adapted to the mouse host by acquiring amino acid mutations in the spike protein that increased its binding affinity with mouse ACE2. In addition, mutations associated with immune escape also accumulated, which may also be a contributing factor in its rapid spread in humans…
The molecular docking-based predictions showed that the adaptation of Omicron to mice also promoted its adaptation to other species, such as humans, camels, and goats, via stronger RBD-ACE2 interaction (Fig. 6). Such a “pleiotropic effect” of mutations was likely caused by structural similarity of ACE2 across species, and indicates that once a SARS-CoV-2 variant acquires the capacity to infect a new host, it can accumulate mutations in this new animal reservoir and becomes transmittable to another host. This “chain reaction” of host jumping could potentially lead to remarkably high diversity in the adaptation to ACE2 from various host species. Consistent with this possibility, numerous mutations were identified in the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 RNA fragment amplified from wastewater samples (Smyth et al., 2021).
Humans represent the largest known reservoir of SARS-CoV-2, and frequently come in contact with other animals, including livestock animals, pets, or wild animals that invade homes searching for food and shelter. Given the ability of SARS-CoV-2 to jump across various species, it appears likely that global populations will face additional animal-derived variants until the pandemic is well under control. Our study thus emphasizes the need for viral surveillance and sequencing in animals, especially those in close contact with humans.

After China banned crypto mining and the miners fled to crypto-friendlier countries with excess energy, Kazakhstan’s share in the global Bitcoin hashrate soared from 8% in April to 18% in August.
The country has several big coal plants and cheap electricity, which together with its proximity to China have attracted its miners in search of new home.
It appears, however, that the excess energy was not as plentiful as the miners thought. In July Kazakhstan’s biggest city Almaty suffered a blackout, as its electricity grid went under additional pressure due to the heat wave. In October several coal plants suffered outages, adding to the power shortages problems.
The country’s energy minister blamed crypto mining and called to limit crypto mining farms’ power use to 1MW , and the overall power use of all crypto miners – to 100MW.

I believe Greenland is self governing, not ‘owned’ by Denmark and was never for sale. Trump was advised by an Australian geologist at the time of his bizarre proposal.
