Moon of Alabama Brecht quote
December 28, 2021
The Federal Government’s Covid Failure Becomes Even More Apparent

Today I was busy with medical issues. Nothing bad to report on my side. But I feel somewhat sad for the people in the U.S. who's health get screwed by its 'elite' over and over again.

Seven days ago the CEO of Delta Airlines asked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to cut quarantine time for Covid breakthrough cases:

Delta Air Lines Inc's chief executive asked the head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday to shrink quarantine guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals who experience breakthrough COVID-19 infections, citing the impact on the carrier's workforce.

CEO Ed Bastian, along with the company's chief health officer and a medical adviser, asked in a letter to CDC Director Rochelle Walensky seen by Reuters that the agency's recommended quarantine period for anyone who tests positive with a breakthrough COVID-19 infection be reduced to five days from the current 10.

The letter suggested that individuals could end isolation with appropriate testing.

"With the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, the 10-day isolation for those who are fully vaccinated may significantly impact our workforce and operations," Bastian wrote. "Similar to healthcare, police, fire, and public transportation workforces, the Omicron surge may exacerbate shortages and create significant disruptions."

Delta said that "as part of this policy change, we would be interested to partner with CDC and collect empirical data."

The CDC immediately set off to do what the business side of the U.S. told it to do. Yesterday it changed its guidelines for recommended isolation and the quarantine period:

Given what we currently know about COVID-19 and the Omicron variant, CDC is shortening the recommended time for isolation from 10 days for people with COVID-19 to 5 days, if asymptomatic, followed by 5 days of wearing a mask when around others. The change is motivated by science demonstrating that the majority of SARS-CoV-2 transmission occurs early in the course of illness, generally in the 1-2 days prior to onset of symptoms and the 2-3 days after. Therefore, people who test positive should isolate for 5 days and, if asymptomatic at that time, they may leave isolation if they can continue to mask for 5 days to minimize the risk of infecting others.

Additionally, CDC is updating the recommended quarantine period for those exposed to COVID-19. For people who are unvaccinated or are more than six months out from their second mRNA dose (or more than 2 months after the J&J vaccine) and not yet boosted, CDC now recommends quarantine for 5 days followed by strict mask use for an additional 5 days. Alternatively, if a 5-day quarantine is not feasible, it is imperative that an exposed person wear a well-fitting mask at all times when around others for 10 days after exposure. Individuals who have received their booster shot do not need to quarantine following an exposure, but should wear a mask for 10 days after the exposure. For all those exposed, best practice would also include a test for SARS-CoV-2 at day 5 after exposure. If symptoms occur, individuals should immediately quarantine until a negative test confirms symptoms are not attributable to COVID-19.

These recommendation are:

  • way too differentiated and thereby confusing. Only the first sentence up to but excluding the word 'asymptomatic' will be followed.
  • not based on science as the infectious period of Covid cases varies over a relative wide range and can be even more than ten days after symptom onset.
  • misses the use of tests after the five day period.
  • does not mention the varying quality of different masks and does not recommend the use of K95/FFP2 masks which are the only ones that should be used by likely infectious persons.

The recommendations give backing to businesses who tell their workers to come to work even when sick.

They go far beyond what the Delta CEO asked for. The three points set in bold in the first quote above get ignored in the CDC recommendations.

The U.S. doctors and scientist I follow on Twitter all disagree with the CDC.

Jerome Adams @JeromeAdamsMD – 13:50 UTC · Dec 28, 2021
Regardless of what CDC says, you really should try to obtain an antigen test (I know- easier said than done) and confirm it’s negative prior to leaving isolation and quarantine.
There’s not a scientist or doctor I’ve met yet who wouldn’t do this for themselves/ their family.

Ashish K. Jha, MD, MPH @ashishkjha – 13:48 UTC · Dec 28, 2021
While new CDC isolation guidelines are reasonable, here's what I would have done differently
1. Required a neg antigen test after 5 days
2. Had different guidelines for vaccinated (contagious for shorter time) versus unvaccinated
3. Specified higher quality masks

The data that supports the new @CDCgov 5 day isolation period without a negative test

Topol's tweet has a picture of an empty paper attached to it.

The often quoted Angie Rasmussen is livid:

Dr. Angela Rasmussen @angie_rasmussen – 15:34 UTC · Dec 28, 2021
Once again, @CDCgov outdoes itself by taking what might be a reasonable policy (test to leave isolation) and removing the part that makes it reasonable (the testing part). This is reckless and, frankly, stupid.

Mandatory 10-day isolations could be reduced if a person tests negative sequentially. Example: 2 negative tests 24 hr apart beginning on day 5. But just assuming that people with no symptoms aren’t shedding shitloads of virus? CDC, where have you been this entire pandemic?

SARS-CoV-2 spreads readily from people without symptoms. That’s a key reason why the pandemic has been so hard to contain. @SaskiaPopescu and I reviewed this nearly A YEAR AGO, long before omicron befouled our holidays.
SARS-CoV-2 transmission without symptoms

I’m very disappointed with yet another failure to actually use evidence in formulating recommendations. I’m very disappointed in @CDCDirector @RWalensky’s leadership, which has been at best erratic and at worst nonexistent.

Actual public health leadership means not putting business interests first during a public health crisis with policies you just pulled out of your ass. It’s callow, it is devastating to public confidence, and it’s going to blow up when omicron cases continue their meteoric rise.

This isn’t changing policy to reflect the changing evidence. This is caving to business interests with a nakedly evidence-free one-size-fits-all solution that was probably cooked up in lieu of the will to actually increase testing availability to make test-to-release possible.

Angie gets political:

We all had such high hopes for the Biden administration’s pledge to let science lead the way out of this pandemic. Those hopes have been dashed repeatedly by the lack of follow through on any of the promises made regarding the pandemic.

A year later, we still don’t have enough tests, 40% of people are unvaccinated, there’s no national mask mandate or vaccine mandate, and the country is ablaze with omicron. It didn’t have to be this way and wouldn’t be if @POTUS kept his promises.

Well Angie, its the system that is sick and not the man at the top.

In a phone call with governors Biden yesterday rejected all responsibility:

Republicans wasted no time slamming Joe Biden after the flip-flopping president said 'there is no federal solution' to combatting COVID-19 on Monday.

The CDC changes will ease COVID-related flight cancellations as sick flight personal will be able to help spread the virus even when they don't like to do so:

"We said we wanted to hear from medical professionals on the best guidance for quarantine, not from corporate America advocating for a shortened period due to staffing shortages,” said Association of Flight Attendants-CWA International President Sara Nelson following the CDC announcement shortening the recommended quarantine duration from 10 days to five days.

“The CDC gave a medical explanation about why the agency has decided to reduce the quarantine requirements from 10 to five days, but the fact that it aligns with the number of days pushed by corporate America is less than reassuring,” Nelson said.

The CDC and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have had so many screw ups during the pandemic that one must doubt their usefulness.

Recently the FDA authorized and even praised Pfizer's Paxlovid anti-Covid drug. But its use is seriously in doubt:

When Paxlovid is paired with other medications that are also metabolized by the CYP3A enzyme, the chief worry is that the ritonavir component may boost the co-administered drugs to toxic levels.

Complicating matters, the drugs that pose interaction risks are widely prescribed to people at the greatest risk from Covid because of other health conditions.

The medications include, but are not limited to: blood thinners; anti-seizure medications; drugs for irregular heart rhythms, high blood pressure and high cholesterol; antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications; immunosuppressants; steroids (including inhalers); HIV treatments; and erectile dysfunction medications.

The half of the U.S. population that is most in danger due to Covid will not be able to take Paxlovid as it already uses incompatible medications.

The CDC is still unable to track the number of Omicron cases. Today it admitted that it (again) screwed up its own statistic:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention significantly revised its model of the breakdown of Covid-19 variants on Tuesday, estimating the Omicron strain accounted for about 58.6 percent of U.S. cases as of Dec. 25.

The public health agency’s previous estimate that the rapidly spreading variant accounted for 73.2 percent of cases nationwide on Dec. 18 is now revised down to 22.5 percent — a significant drop that falls outside the agency's earlier 95 percent prediction interval, or likely range where future analysis will fall, of 34 to 94.9 percent of all cases.

The U.S. is now recording more than 206,000 daily Covid-19 infections — a number that is rapidly growing. Americans continue to travel at high levels through the holidays: more than 2 million people flew yesterday, according to Transportation Security Administration data.

Tomorrow the number of new Cocid cases per day in the U.S. will likely exceed the previous record.

Omicron guarantees that the next few month will be a wild ride. But no matter how high the number of cases will be the U.S. the federal government and its institutions will do nothing about it. They have been proven to be incapable for systemic reasons independent of their leadership. It does not have to be that way but I see no one who is trying to change that.

To be clear. I am not worried for myself. I am vaccinated and was boostered today. But I worry about those who for whatever reason are not vaccinated. And about those who will get sick with non-Covid issues and who will have difficulties to find an empty hospital bed while Omicron rushes through. Good luck to them.

(Like all Covid threads this one too will get policed to eliminate promotions of drugs that are not useful and arguments not based on science.)

Evidently, you are incorrect in your assumptions.

Quote:
“Results
A total of 21 studies met our inclusion criteria. Meta-analyses suggest that mask use provided a significant protective effect (OR = 0.35 and 95% CI = 0.24–0.51). Use of masks by healthcare workers (HCWs) and non-healthcare workers (Non-HCWs) can reduce the risk of respiratory virus infection by 80% (OR = 0.20, 95% CI = 0.11–0.37) and 47% (OR = 0.53, 95% CI = 0.36–0.79). The protective effect of wearing masks in Asia (OR = 0.31) appeared to be higher than that of Western countries (OR = 0.45). Masks had a protective effect against influenza viruses (OR = 0.55), SARS (OR = 0.26), and SARS-CoV-2 (OR = 0.04). In the subgroups based on different study designs, protective effects of wearing mask were significant in cluster randomized trials and observational studies.
Conclusions
This study adds additional evidence of the enhanced protective value of masks, we stress that the use masks serve as an adjunctive method regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.”
More basic report
https://www.healthline.com/health/cold-flu/mask#research
“For many years, scientists weren’t sure whether wearing a mask was effective at preventing the spread of viruses. However, recent studies suggest they can help.
One 2013 study https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3591312/ looked at how masks could help people with the seasonal flu limit spreading it when they exhale droplets containing the virus. Overall, researchers found masks led to a more than threefold reduction in how much virus people sprayed into the air.
Another study https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5153448/, analyzing data from thousands of Japanese schoolchildren, found that “vaccination and wearing a mask reduced the likelihood of developing seasonal influenza.”
Importantly, researchers also foundhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4699551/ that flu rates were lower when masks were paired with proper hand hygiene.”
Again, no one claims they are 100% effective. But they do reduce the probability of getting and passing on a viral disease.

I’m sure we will see life expectancy “science” decrying Covid.

The problem here is the amplification of the seriousness of the virus.
We all acknowledge a virus exists.
We all acknowledge the danger that exists for compromised individuals.
So, where a mask if you want. Get a jab if you want.
But don’t cut the legs out from small businesses, and don’t limit the proletariats work opportunities.
Don’t limit customers to big box, or corporate entities.
It’s obvious what had happened,
The biggest effect this virus has had,
Is stunting the growth of small business

Given its rather difficult to get anything factual on SARS-COV2, may I suggest readers take a look at the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
For the skeptics and loony bins, SARS and SARS-COV2 are real and nasty little pathogens, although, not as nasty as some of the avian influenza pathogens we have in my neck of the woods, which is saying something given SARS in 2003 killed 14% of those who contracted it in the HKSAR in 2003, the global average being an 8% mortality rate – yes, it was scary, yes, many Westerners like myself at first ignored it and, when it became apparent it was no joke, we took it rather seriously, as did the HKSAR Administration.
Suffice to say, and although part of the PRC, the HKSAR administration is highly transparent and has data sets on so many activities its mind boggling, thus, we have solid data on SARS-COV2 and how to combat this pathogen utilising simple measures that work, and that’s before a vaccine program was put in place.
The anti-vaxxer Brigade, quite a few posting on this Blog, alas no where as bad as Off Guardian, will have you believe that the SARS-COV2 vaccines currently in production and being administered are killing us. I’ve no doubt no vaccine I know off comes without some contraindications, same applies to most medicines, so, its all about risk-weighting and knowledge, so, in the HKSAR we have used two vaccines, one mRNA vaccine developed by BioNtech and one Chinese developed vaccine utilising regular vaccine development methods.
As it stands, China has vaccinated approx 1.3 billion of its citizens against SARS-COV2, the majority of vaccines being the same as that utilsied in the HKSAR, which has currently vaccinated almost 70% of those eligible, namely all over 12 years of age, the full stats and full stats on contraindications/adverse effects of both types of vaccines are found at the below link – further, presently the HKSAR is SARS-COV2 free, meaning we have zero community transmission of Covid, something to do with stringent and well adhered too control methods.
Knock yourselves out folks, but the Stats speak for themselves, as does research associated with these Stats that can be easily found on sites like medRvix.org: https://www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/en/dashboard/safety/aefi

I wanted to share one recipe that helped me recover in August.
But first, a reminder about the salt-water gargle! (I’m not saying this is a substitute to being vaccinated, by the way, just a routine measure to help prevent infection.)
I soaked some brown lentils in the fridge overnight. Then I fried some grass-fed lean ground beef, cooked the lentils separately, then mixed the two together. I kept this mix in the fridge and added some to my meals over the next few days. It seemed to really help – I felt stronger each time after consuming that with my meal. I do think it is very important to soak the lentils first. When I ate I not-soaked lentils earlier, I felt worse afterwards (I suspect that phytic acid blocking the absorption of minerals was the problem which told me how vital minerals were to my body at that time which I guess is what I want to say in this post.)

Several years ago I quickly fought off an upper-respiratory infection using baking soda and iodine, a protocol used prior to the discovery of antibiotics. One scant teaspoon of baking soda, thoroughly and completely dissolved in water once per day. Can’t remember the dose of iodine drops. I’d be too scared to test that one out on this Coronavirus, though.

But, who called the police…?
These people were dancing over there in the Seine riverside, not bothering anybody, not even with noise as they were dancing at a very soft music…
Look, it called my attention a huge muscled guy who is dancing in the first video in the left side, quite a bit apart from the group, even his clothes contrast with the general working class apsect of the danseurs..
In the second video, when the police arrive, this guy remains far apart, and seems to be going away to not be seen anymore, in spite of his size, the elder women are left to defend before the policemen, only two balck guys surround them as if fearing a violent reaction by the police, which then happens by a clear provocative and uneccessary violent policeman.
The muscled guy with the light rebecca could well be a policeman infiltrated..beware…

Oh b, you – and (some) “experts” – keep talking about “the” science, as if everyone’s risk preferences can be established by medical professionals’ (latest) determinations about Covid. Sorry. That’s not science; that’s scientism.
As for the US Federal government being “unable” to do anything about Omicron, like all Leftists you vastly over-estimate the effectiveness of the State, as well as the degree to which its officers are well-meaning and not acting in their own interests.
You appear to have the right degree of faith when it comes to the MIC – virtually none – and yet appear to have blind faith in the PIC (Pharma Industrial Complex).
It’s pretty clear that medicine has been as captured by corporatists as “defence” & banking.

Bruised Northerner @ 215:
If you do a Google search with keywords “Betadine” and “Covid” together, you will discover a huge wealth of conflicting articles and posts on the use of Betadine mouthwash as a COVID-19 prophylactic. Some research done suggests Betadine (povidone iodine) can be useful provided you follow instructions on the bottle carefully and try not to swallow any of the stuff while gargling.
At this point in the ongoing pandemic with the Omicron strain dominating over previous strains, and that strain infecting mainly the nasal passages, throat and bronchii (and not going further into the lungs), it would be useful to know if Betadine and other mouthwashes might help in staving off infection.
In Australia at least where we are being given conflicting information about what to do, while healthcare systems are struggling for various reasons and the PCR testing systems are failing (again for various reasons), and Rapid Antigen Tests are being hoarded by panicking customers, if people knew what options were possible to treat sore throats and coughs, and these options were cheap, readily available and varied, something like Betadine or similar might be helpful.

Re: “The Science”
The medical profession is not real science. Real science is, e.g., astrophysics, where we have a mechanistic reason why the sun alway rises in the east, not simply that statistically it seems to be a consistent statement.
I am not (a priori) anti-vax, but current affairs have, shall we say, raised my consciousness on this issue. The other day, it was suggested that I have a tetanus booster shot because it has been more than 10 years since I have had one. So what is the science behind the every-10-years booster. Not much really. It is the standard of care. And that’s changed since I was a kid. They used to recommend one every 5 years. I won’t be surprised to find in a decade that the standard of care is a booster every 15 or 20 years.
And this has nothing to with Big Pharma, or Neo-Liberals, or Fauci, etc. The iniquity comes about when the policy makers turn a medical rule-of-thumb into a “rule” that is “based on the science.”

@177 william gruff
How I see the Axis countries combating Covid has more to do with international optics than with being a true believer of the Great Covid Reset Response.
In other words, these countries, in the crosshairs of empire, will do most anything to placate international consensus to make it seem that they are more caring of their people. I am not saying that there is anything intrinsically wrong with this course of action, however. It just so happens that Russia is the example par excellence of this means of dealing with the barking dog of empire. It plays its hand coolly and with utmost control. If the international community wants to pin the label of despot on VPP, he goes and makes sure that this affront on his reputation is countered with good media PR from his available sympathetic outlets.
So, for me, I do not take the Axis countries response to Covid at face value. Rather, to me, it seems like a combination of prudence in the face of possible ill-effects of a great pandemic as well as making your opponent look unmotherly to its own people by your counter example.
Just my $.02 on the topic of these countries’ response.

Thanks for the info! In my case, I did take drops internally of iodine and normally I would believe iodine, mouthwash or otherwise, would be guaranteed effective against this virus. But now, I don’t know what to think. I do think, as you suggest, these methods could be used as a preventative. The baking soda may sound strange but it really was helpful. That’s just my opinion – but it could be another preventative measure.
I was really surprised by my own experience; it is unlike anything I’ve encountered prior, to have an illness escalate that severely that rapidly even with my nutritional regimen. Then, reading Dr. Andrew Saul’s protocol… where he describes coming down with pneumonia and treating it with 2,000 mgs of vitamin C every 6 minutes…. I don’t want to be hysterical but that is not normal at all. He is not a starved orphan living in a slum.

No, those selected studies are little more than back of the envelope surveys and are not clinical (scientific) studies. But, if that is your standard here are 47 studies that prove (by your measure) the contrary:
47 studies confirm ineffectiveness of masks for COVID and 32 more confirm their negative health effects
Regardless, the health effects of the long term use of wearing of masks is something that has never been researched. An early death would seem a distinct possibility.

Blue Dotterel @202
Here’s 150 more studies and articles on mask ineffectiveness:
“It is not unreasonable to conclude that surgical and cloth masks, used as they currently are being used (without other forms of PPE protection), have no impact on controlling the transmission of Covid-19 virus. Current evidence implies that face masks can be actually harmful. The body of evidence indicates that face masks are largely ineffective…
“My focus is on COVID face masks and the prevailing science that we have had for nearly 20 months. Yet I wish to address this mask topic at a 50,000-foot level on the lockdown restrictive policies in general…”
“Sadly, our children will bear the catastrophic consequences and not just educationally, of the deeply flawed school closure policy for decades to come (particularly our minority children who were least able to afford this). Many are still pressured to wear masks and punished for not doing so…
“I present the masking ‘body of evidence’ below (n=167 studies and pieces of evidence), comprised of comparative effectiveness research as well as related evidence and high-level reporting. To date, the evidence has been stable and clear that masks do not work to control the virus and they can be harmful and especially to children.”

Staying properly hydrated is key. Not just water. Electrolyte mixes. 100% coconut water. Sipping through the day.
At worst water with seal/rock salt. Honey dash of turmeric.
A paracetamol before bedtime.
Spare bedding when waking up in a pool of water.
Good luck.

“We know that vaccines work”
I argue that they don’t, in the traditional sense of vaccines …. So, a vaccine doesn’t provide the protection that measles, pox, rubella, vaccines do.

Some vaccines do work reasonably well, as they reduce the death rate from Covid-19 by up to fourteen times versus the unvaccinated. That is a dramatic difference, a great improvement.
We can’t eradicate the virus. It’s here to stay.
I think that is premature. The vaccines can help to kill the virus in three ways:
(1) As noted above, vaccines reduce enormously the number of seriously sick people. In other words, they reduce the number of people with heavy viral loads, and therefore cut the likelihood that some of them will spread contagion. Shrinking R0 under 1.0 will cause the virus to die.
(2) Vaccines and boosters can greatly reduce the size of the global human reservoir needed for the breeding of new variants. The fewer variants there are, the faster the virus will die.
(3) As I have already mentioned, vaccines can cut the virus’ potential evolution space, greatly reducing the number of variants the virus can become. Combined with (2), we can hit the virus hard. In my head, I picture a boa constrictor squeezing SARS-CoV-2 to death.
I doubt the virus can survive the 1,2,3 punch, if sensible things are done.

That last paragraph makes me ask: is b not aware that Omicron largely evades any existing immunity? And he also seems to not be aware of long covid. There’s a lot more to the danger of covid than simply whether it kills you or not.

Posted by: Ben | Dec 31 2021 1:44 utc | 235

Suzan:
“Imagine if a potentially mild Omicron rescues parts of the world denied vaccine access from experiencing serious effects of the aerosolized disease. That would be poetic justice.”
That is exactly what will happen.
It is what should have happened if we had not been thrown onto the jab roller coaster last year.

@ D.G. | Dec 30 2021 19:40 utc | 223,
Happy to oblige you D.G.
First, the bad news, the HKSAR now has an outbreak of Omicron due to a Cathay Pacific Crew member breaching quarantine rules after visiting the USA, meaning, if it spreads we’ll be in Stringent Lockdown within the next 14 days.
As for vaccines offered to Hong Kong’s 7.3 million citizens, initially the government ordered three vaccines, namely the Oxford AstraZeneca, the German BioNtech and the Chinese SinoVac, only two of these were rolled out and both were manufactured in China, namely the Fosun BioNtech and Sinovac. The Sinovac efficacy rates have been all over the place depending which study is used, but can be anywhere from 52%-94%, check this article out: https://www.rappler.com/voices/thought-leaders/analysis-sinovac-vaccine-still-effective-covid-19-vaccine/
With regards Delta and Omicron its now necessary to get a Booster – the HKSAR begins its Booster program next Monday, that’s 3 January 2022, all persons have a single choice I’m afraid, namely Fosun BioNTech, which has been found to have a few health impacts on Han Chinese Teenage Males – I’ll get my Booster in February, unless we witness a large scale community wide outbreak, in which case it will be ASAP given pre-existing health conditions I have.
Like you, I became persona non grata at Off Guardian for questioning their narrative in March or April 2020 I believe when it became a rabbit hole with BTL posters calling SARS-COV2 a cold or mild influenza, the deaths and infections across Asia Pac would suggest otherwise, alas who believes data at Off Guardian!
Hope this helps your enquiry from my vantage point in the people’s Republic of China.

Chris Rogers
Thanks for that cross view
I was head of the pandemic steering committee for H1N1 and Sars for the school board in my city.
The diligence from the get go was unified across the Province and clearly mandated.
Endless training was provided.
Additional staff hired in all schools and at the first sniffle people were sent home with pay.
This time was chaos.
This time there was a lot less money to respond to a much greater crisis (including a 20% cut to healthcare in the past 3 years)

Re: ADKC @184

1. They don’t work and there isn’t any research that proves otherwise.

Nonsense.

2. They cause respiratory problems including bronchial pneumonia.

Ridiculous nonsense.

3. They cause mental and skin problems.

Fixed that for you. This is the real reason, isn’t it? Vanity? Ego? Narcissim?

4. They are expensive if you use them as they should be, and if you don’t then their misuse will make the problems listed above a lot worse.

Nonsense.

5. Circulation (transmission) of those human germs (that so disgust you) are essential for human health and well-being.

OK, so whenever I drop some food on filthy high traffic areas I’ll be sure to have you come and lick it up instead of letting a stray dog do it.

6. Front line workers will be wearing masks for 8-10 hours solid 5 to 7 days a week – this will cause long term health problems and an early death.

Workers in the food production industry have been wearing masks while on the production floor for many decades. Masks are not a cause for mortality among them. In fact, many industries require the workforce to wear proper gear, including masks. Mask-wearing has never been cited as a health risk for workers in chip (microchip, though you have to wear masks in potato chip factories too) fab plants, for example.

7. By implication pets (cats and dogs) should also be masked; they can’t be so they would be euthanised.

Nonsense.

8. They are intended for the plebs not the elite.

The elites have (masked) security guards to keep mask-phobic fools away from them. Do you imagine you are stealing some of the elites’ privilege by refusing to mask up?

Get off your knees and have some self-respect!

Stop being a vain narcissist.

Other than my withholding opinion on omicron for the time being, I am in agreement. The “establishment experts” in the West have really revealed themselves to be totally incompetent idiots over these last couple years. I tend to consider that a plus, though. The more people with deep skepticism of the western establishment the better, I say.

A paracetamol before bedtime.
_________________________________________________
That may not be good advice.
For one thing paracetamol depletes glutathione levels and depletes Vitamin D levels which means it works against a person’s natural ability to fight covid.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32708578/
paracetamol also works against fever which is one of the body’s best defenses against infections.

It is all same bullshit different year. If the shots were effective, the disease would already be eradicated. It is all politics and has led to the construction of a new form of fascism. The fact the teutonic axis (In fact I’m of German origin) is leading the charge to forcing the injection on everyone threatens to destroy all work over the last 75 years to restore the reputation of Mitteleuropa. The Nazi Reich liberally used lethal injections at Hadamar, Hessen and other places to eliminate ‘nutzlose Esser’. This will be fired back at German supporters of the shots in this present day initiative, which will probably eliminate more ‘nutzlose Esser’ than the Nazi regime’s 1930s initiative managed to do. Unfortunately, according to the international regime, we are all nutzlose Esser (useless eaters).

Cyril’s evidence for the statement that the unvaccinated are 14 times as likely to die of covid as the vaccinated is CDC data. Excuse me for being unconvinced.

I’m so disappointed in your lack of critical thinking when it comes to Covid and Covid policies. You are among my favorite political analysts and introduced me to a great array of truths that I wouldn’t have been exposed to otherwise. Unfortunately, it seems when it comes to these specific emergency use therapies and covid public policy you have taken a stance that isn’t as logical and fact based as your political analysis. Even the doctors you are quoting are not the best source of truth in this matter.
I’m not sure where you get your information for mask usage, vaccine efficacy, and overall statistics for the pandemic. Promoting and protecting Pfizer/ etc is not the hill I want to die on. Protecting children from being coerced or forced into taking a gene therapeutic is that hill. I’m not pro/anti vax. I am against coercion, untruths and propaganda. Regardless, this is not an attack on you. I hope you find yourself well and being to explore more information and truths regarding this episode in history. You’re so good with everything else.
Warmest Regards,
John

The sooner we all get omicron and recover from it, the better.
The earlier versions of the disease had 99%+ survival rate, mainly killing the elderly. Now we 1) have vaccines 2) better treatment 3) milder disease.
Let’s get this over with.

Posted by: Joe | Jan 2 2022 19:42 utc | 249

The calculated vaccine effectiveness is now at -87.7%.
We are approaching a point where the predicted, by the anti-mRNA gene therapy scientists, Vaccine Auto-Immune Deficiency Syndrome (VAIDS) will become apparent or not. My bet is that it will.
There is a life insurance CEO talking about 40% more deaths in the 18-64 cohort than normal. A 10% rise is a 3 sigma event that would only be seen once every 200 years.
This is going to get bad.

Posted by: MikH | Jan 2 2022 22:04 utc | 250

joe @249. No joe we don’t have vaccines or treatment or even a milder disease. what we have is a therapy that is NOwhere even close to the high 90s efficacy as it was sold at. There are still no treatments, just therapy in a jab or pill coming soon. The real reason peeps aren’t dying is all the ones who would normally die from a flu are dead, now we have stronger and healthier peeps getting infected and not dying because….well u know the flu wont kill these types of people. The therapy is piggybacking real vax science and demographics, so it appears like what they are saying. These fuckers lie all the time except for this time right?

Angie Rasmussen says asymptomatic spread is important. That surprises me as I thought that only applied to presymptomatic spread and asymptomatic spread was not significant. I am not sure her article about it is all that definitive about it either. She compares viral loads, but corona spread has got a large dispersion so simply topping off the biggest spreaders may have a disproportionally large impact.
