They’re paving the way,
To remain bulletproof.
The road to enslavement,
Ere fiat goes poof!
To keep things afloat,
While their hustle abounds.
They need all our bodies,
For medical rounds.
They’ve hijacked our healthcare,
Cause, all else is Kaput!
The last vested interest,
Save the ground underfoot.
Yes, they’ll have that too,

As they ruin our bodies,

The great many unwary,

Merry Christmas b, and good health in the New Year!
I went out in the rain and hung my red Christmas towel and big spangly Walmart star on my gate – they’ll stay up till after Orthodox Christmas so don’t want to do it too far in advance. Christmases in my New Zealand childhood were spent at the beach, a big bonfire on New Year’s Eve and everyone dressed up in fancy dress costumes — I suppose that was a pagan influence but it all goes with Christmas. I love having the quieter one later, still near Western Epiphany and the wise men, but more for church.
Can’t do without lovely western carol singing — peace on earth !

Where I live, we are now having [and anticipate] a series of winter storms, something that was perfectly normal 30 years ago is now dreaded by northward migrating transplants. Me and the dog have enough food/water for a month so long as an earthquake doesn’t accompany the weather.

And yes the “energy crisis” is certainly part of their silly plan for popular support for a suicidal war, so far I’ve only heard it (the claim) being pushed in the UK but I’m sure we’ll see it spread. I doubt it will work, not even if not everyone knows that it’s not the Russians fault at all (hah, a triple negative!).
And by the way: so much for the US nonsense about selling US gas, it was bs from the start.

Take hope my friends, tell the truth, stay real and take care of one another, we are our own saviors in this life.
And for you all in the antipodes, this is a time of balance for the earth as we experience the swing in the seasons. My family got together last night for a feast, celebrating the marriage of my nephew and his wife and another young couple beginning to show their love. I hope PeterAU you had a bonfire or a quiet drink in celebration.
For you Norskes, Gud Yule and stay warm — I spent a Christmas in Bamla Norway, near Kragro one year. I promised to dig a live or cut a Christmas tree for our celebration on Christmas Eve, because the tree sellers had all closed at noon the day before.
I went out into the noon-day twilight with a saw and shovel, and discovered that in addition to the 5 or 6 inches of hoarfrost on every tree and telephone wire, the ground was hard as iron as were the frozen trees.
We settled for a big cedar branch which we hung on the wall and decorated with my stepfather’s family ornaments. His last Christmas.
For those near the Equator, I’m not sure if Solstice has much impact or meaning. Here in Canada above the 49th parallel, this time of year the sun rises late and sets early, so most of the day is dark and cold. Six months from now the opposite happens and we are in heat and sunshine until 9 pm, in fact it is too warm to have dinner until sunset.
That fact makes Christmas for us a marker of long and warmer days ahead. Please accept my best wishes for a peaceful, fruitful and happy future!
