The definition of a hard science is one where you can test and measure results.
It doesn’t matter if its is physics (string theory) or sociology (Critical Race Theory) or economics (efficient markets) or climate science – these are all soft sciences because you cannot test nor measure results, only speculate on causes and effects.
I will repeat again: why do we think climate science is a science when they fail predictions, consistently and often, over 30+ years?
Why do we think climate scientists have any credibility whatsoever when the core of their science – ECS (equilibrium climate sensitivity) which is the level by which emissions affect temperature – the range was going up for 30 years until this last AR6 report, when the top end dropped slightly?
In what universe is a supposed physical constant so impossible to constrain?
Either it isn’t a physical constant or the scientists are incompetent/agenda driven.
I’m fairly sure it is the latter.

Thanks to the barflies who responded to my asking for data about their motor fuel costs to test Jake Sullivan’s assertions that fuel cost inflation here in the Outlaw US Empire is OPEC’s fault, not the flooding of cash into Wall Street by the Federal Reserve. So-called criticisms that focus only on imaginary criteria for scientificity are more examples of the creationist playbook: Don’t explain, just poke holes. But the point is to explain.

That paper you cited, that also traces to Uncle tungsten’s link @352, is an earlier paper from 2011. Somehow I have a later paper from some of the same authors published this year, in March 2021. So it’s also been linked here I guess:
Common dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) efficiently blocks the interaction between ACE2 cell surface receptor and SARS-CoV-2 spike protein D614, mutants D614G, N501Y, K417N and E484K in vitro [March 2021]

The plant contains a wide array of phytochemicals including terpenes (sesquiterpene lactones such as taraxinic acid and triterpenes), phenolic compounds (phenolic acids, flavonoids, and coumarins) and also polysaccharides (14). The predominant phenolic compound was found to be chicoric acid (dicaffeoyltartaric acid). The other were mono-and dicaffeoylquinic acids, tartaric acid derivatives, flavone and flavonol glycosides. The roots, in addition to these compound classes, contain high amounts of inulin (15). Dosage forms include aqueous decoction and infusion, expressed juice of fresh plant, hydroalcoholic tincture as well as coated tablets from dried extracts applied as monopreparations (16) but also integral components of pharmaceutical remedies. Our research was conducted using water-based extracts from plant leaves. We found that leaf extracts efficiently blocked spike protein or its mutant forms to the ACE2 receptor, used in either pre-or post-incubation, and that high molecular weight compounds account for this effect. A plant from the same tribe (Cichorium intybus) could exert similar effects but with less potency. Infection of A549-hACE2-TMPRSS2 human lung cells using SARS-CoV-2 pseudotyped lentivirus was efficiently prevented by the extract.

I think your take is correct. We still see the CPC in control of the situation – just as Deng was when the western world thought China was evolving into westernization and unbridled “capitalism”. But it was always under the control of the government and its guiding principles.
Xi has said that China will go beyond simply being a moderately prosperous country and will strive mightily to create a perfected socialist society. I think we know that we don’t have to dig any deeper – there is no deeper – and we can simply accept this as the plain, unvarnished reality of China’s goal.

CPC is in control, I’m convinced of that. Wall Street – even the infamous Rothschild agent, Morgan – has a far narrower view than the CPC does. I suspect the time will come that we can see a greater force on this planet than the private finance that you refer to.
Or else, that force will lose to the Red Shield, and we will know that there is only one solution left before total oblivion. And I think we’re a long way from even thinking such a possibility. Like you, I think the old game is already lost, but greed has blinded its sense of survival to this knowledge.
The future, be it tens of years or hundreds of years from now, holds an ultimate battle between that private theft of capital and that public distribution of capital. I would love to be able to watch it, but I think it will be after my time here, so it must be enough to send up quiet little prayers for victory of the public side.
