The thesis of this article by Patrick Armstrong can be summed up in one sentence: "Russia did the right thing in not overthrowing the Ukranazis in 2014, because it would have, simultaneously,
1. made no difference and
2. made things much worse."

Mr Armstrong is also not happy with those of us - that would include yours truly - who think that

"....Moscow should have invaded after the Maidan coup, arrested all the nazis and put Yanukovych back to serve out the rest of his term..."

I do admit that I'm a poor amateur, not a syndicated writer or an opinion columnist like Mr Armstrong, so his cred is axiomatically greater than mine. I do admit that I am also much less intelligent than he is. Therefore my poor brain struggles to find an answer for these questions:

1. How would the situation have been the same if Russia had invaded and overthrown the Ukranazis in 2014? Assuming that Yanukovych was defeated in the next elections,

(a) the Ukranazis would still have remained destroyed;
(b) Amerikastani and EU support for Ukranazis would have been confronted with the harsh realisation that Russia was prepared to defend its interests in Ukraine with military force;
(c) the pro Russian voting block would have got a terrific boost.
(d) at least 14000 Donbass people would still have been alive?

2. How could the situation have got worse for Russia than now when

(a) NATOstani war criminals openly arm and train Ukranazis;
(b) Ukranazistan and its propaganda about "Russian invasion" is the official story in the entire west;
(c) NATO aircraft, including reconnaissance aircraft and nuclear bombers, fly in Ukranazistani airspace right up to the Russian border, forcing Russian air defence systems to activate and expose their electronic signatures to examination?

3. How the situation in Ukranazistan in 2014 was remotely comparable to Hungary 1956 or Afghanistan 1979, since

(a) there was absolutely no requirement for Russia to occupy the place: go in, destroy the Ukranazi coup regime, get out;

(b) with Ukrainians now blaming Russia *anyway*?

4. Apparently Amerikastan would have preferred Dr Najibullah in power in Afghanistan to "what is to come" next year, presumably a Taliban regime, but Amerikastan had no problems with the Taliban regime the last time around, right up until 1997 when Mullah Omar gave pipeline contracts to Argentina's BRIDAS rather than Amerikastan's UNOCAL?

As I said, I must be very stupid, because I cannot understand these points, which must be extremely obvious to Mr Armstrong, since he totally neglected to explain them.

Here is what I wrote on Southfront on this topic of the Afghan school bomb:

As for the Taliban, there is, of course, zero reason for them to do this. If they really want to stop girls’ education again, which by the way they say they will not do, they can just do it after they inevitably recapture power in a year or two. Blowing up the school would be totally counterproductive at this point.

There are only two sets of people it would benefit: the Imperialist States of Amerikastan, which wants to continue the occupation, and the puppet child sex slaver Quisling warlord regime in Kabul, which needs the occupation to continue to survive.

Cui bono, as they say. Who benefits from a crime?

Pepe Escobar's article:

Since the half White Russian emigre descendant Andrei Raevsky banned me from the Junkyard of the Faker for criticising his deity Putin, I couldn't respond there, but this is what I wrote on the article on Unz:

“New Delhi will have to go along.”

The multiple turncoat and war criminal (who murdered hundreds of prisoners of war in 2001 by locking them in sealed containers) Abdul Rashid Dostum, an Erdoğan stooge in the Afghan body politic, was in Delhi last year begging for Indian troops. Not even Modi is quite that stupid. India has not even managed to crush the Kashmir insurgency in 32 years despite committing well over 300000 military, paramilitary, and armed police troops to occupy the state, so Modi isn’t eager for a military defeat in a war of choice in Afghanistan, which even he must know is inevitable. On top of which Modi’s rubber stamp mouthpiece media have started making noises about the need to engage with the Taliban to turn them against Pakistan, a sure sign of how what passes for thinking in the gibbering globetrotting genocidal gangster Gujarati government of Narendrabhai Damodardasbhai Modi is going.

I have absolutely no faith in anything any Kurd organ says, because of the Kurdish record of invariably and constantly turning coat and betraying today's ally as soon as tomorrow's seems to offer 0.0000001% better terms. So even if they're all completely innocent of the murder of Soleimani, even if they're being deliberately thrown under the bus by the Bidet regime in the interests of reviving the Iran nuclear deal, I see no reason to feel the slightest bit of sympathy for them. As inveterate Quislings they deserve none.

The Grayzone appears to be growing with a piece on Mexico's drug gangs and their connection with U.S. special forces. The author is new to me-- the article is impressive in scope and detail. https://thegrayzone.com/2021/05/06/us-special-forces-mexican-drug-cartels/
At it's core the concept remains: if you arm thuggish, sociopathic individuals and train them to kill, they will morph and spread into multiple variations of killing cults, gangs, paramilitaries, pseudo-militaries and embed into actual militaries.
Mexico has been living the horror of this "seeding" since the 1980s. The Zapatistas in Chiapas (https://www.theyucatantimes.com/2021/01/the-zapatista-army-of-national-liberation-27-years-later/) and the Purépecha in Michoacán are two tribes who have resisted and regained some degree of sovereignty but their life and death struggle is tenuous.
We are living through our own version of the "arm the thugs" practice as imperial cities are loaded with veterans trained to kill who return from deployment with PTSD along with a wacko belief that they're special and then they become cops who get to tell people what to do.
The Grayzone article is worth the time.

@6 migueljose:

Ted Galen Carpenter also wrote on The American Conservative that Amerikastan had "to weaken the cartels" permitted them to buy weapons in Amerikastan and smuggle them into Mexico, and trained cartel hitmen, but the programme "backfired", which is a laugh. Obviously the CIA, FBI, etc etc want to profit from the cartels' drug trade.

Yeah, seems more likely that the Empire's wrecking crew (aka ISIS) is behind the bombing.

The motive? 'Trigger' America's 'woke' fake progressives to demand that USA stay in Afghanistan. The good people (tm) of the Biden-Harris Administration would not be able to resist that pressure.

Funny how Western fake media are so certain that USA is leaving Afghanistan despite previous failed attempts and numerous other lies (closing Guantanamo, "moderate rebels", etc.).

A Reuters (surprise) is trying to link them to Russia https://news.trust.org/item/20210508152642-o9z7n by claiming that 'Darkside ransomware avoids post Soviet state targets'. U.S. undermining Rules based world order
The U.S. makes this accusation against Russia and China on a routine basis, but now we are claiming that WHO is covering up China's biological weapons program. Doesn't making false accusations against an international organization undermine trust in an important health organization? If I go to my company and want to donate money to, or raise funds for WHO, I risk people thinking I am a traitor.
BTW I hear this accusation originating from the U.S. State Dept, CIA goon squad, and the usual shills being aired on FOX.

Iran is the best example of how eliminating an undesired government is not a one off deal, it its more like a small snow ball that with time becomes an avalanche. The US got rid of president Arbenz in Guatemala to favor the United Fruit Company, Arbenz government was not communist, social democrat at best, they proposed a land reform with compensation for the US company involved, but that was more than what uncle Sam would tolerate and that snow ball grew like a cancer, a most cruel and bloody civil war ensued with connections to Playa Giron affair, the Somozas in Nicaragua, Honduras as the permanent base, and El Salvador. Sixty five years gone by and the cancer expanded its metastasis, gangs, narco states, failed countries. I agree with Armstrong article, let the ones that broke Georgia and Ukraine deal with the consequences, time is not on the empire’s side neither is geography or history.

The Dollar Empire (U$A administration) has been going after Non-$ countries (China, Russia, Germany, Syria, Iran, Turkey, Venezuela ... NON-$ BLOC) and not US$ countries (nations selling their resources in USD such as Saudi Arabia ...). Why? Non-$ Bloc need to be captured so they can be controlled for the dream of a global financial empire, owned by the Global Financial Oligarchy.

What are the key characteristics of modern MONETARY IMPERIALISM led by the Dollar Empire? Reserve Currency Colonialism, Payment Control, Resource control ...

Those who monopolize money production become de facto OWNERS that control & steal human labor, resources, profits ... in perpetuity.

Re the simulated launch of an AGM-183 hypersonic.

The AGM-183, from what can be gathered, has roughly the capabilities of a Russian Iskander.
The Iskander was operational and deployed in 2006. It has been used many times since then in actual combat. So US is fifteen years behind. And counting. Were the AGM to ever be successful it would come in at the lower boundary of what can be called hypersonic. Of course Russia has all its hypersonics in series production at fairly modest cost. US will never produce anything at modest cost.

Why the West revised WWII History in the Cold War:

In 1945, the Russians saved Europe from itself: we were not forgiven for this

There are also many other reasons why the West insists on this revision:

1) the success of the rehabilitation of (West) Germany to the capitalist sphere (and Japan, in the Pacific), culminating with the creation of the EU, induced the European governments and peoples to force in their collective minds a revised version of the WWII where, at the least, it was the USA that liberated Europe from both the Third Reich and the USSR. This is a process of amalgamation, where two consecutive episodes (in this case, WWII and the Cold War) are turned into myth by fusion into a third, mythological event;

2) the absorption of the Comecon countries to the EU required a revised version of WWII.

Compare the Western attitude towards WWII with China's:

Chinese show great empathy to Russia over WWII history while West turns hostile to Moscow

When some Western countries led by the US are showing hostility toward Russia and trying to downplay the Soviet Union's contribution to the Allied victory or even stigmatize Russia by comparing the Soviet Union with Nazi Germany, Chinese are showing an entirely different attitude to the former Soviet Union's contribution during the war.

Apart from the high-level mutual trust and strategic partnership between Beijing and Moscow, Chinese people have shown enthusiasm by watching the livestream of the Russian Victory Day military parade every year. On Sunday, hashtags about the "Russian V-Day military parade 2021" or the "76th anniversary of Russia's victory in Great Patriotic War" have received more than 100 million views. Chinese national television broadcast the parade.

Let this also be a warning to the Russian conservatives: it was not the Orthodox Cross or the Tricolor, but the Hammer and Sickle flag that advanced till the Elbe. It was the banner of proletarian power and proletarian revolution that achieved what no Christian or Slavophile never came close to achieve. Analysis of letters of Soviet soldiers during the Battle of Stalingrad overwhelmingly demonstrate that it was the ideal of communism - not the Christian God or Great Russian chauvinism - what motivated the Red Army: the revolution was still well alive with Stalin (who, contrary to the myth, was not a nationalist). The most you can claim on patriotism is related to the protection of the hard earnings of the first ever proletarian revolution in Russia, not Russia itself.

The Russian Federation would do itself a good service if it accepted the fact that, in reality, they're just a shadow of something really great. Knowing your weaknesses and all.

The article (a lame meta analysis) linked in this weekly review is lamentable. Very forced correlations and many non-peer reviewed sources.

The part where they mention Brazil is laughable: they rest their entire argument on a slump of cases in August 2020 in three Brazilian cities. The forgot to mention Brazilian president Jair Messias Bolsonaro is a huge fan of Ivermectin and that, as such, the drug was mass prescribed in the whole territory of Brazil, not just those three cities. They also forgot to mention the drug is still secretly proscribed, that there are a lost of cases of overdose of the drug in the country, and that Brazil has seen a huge spike - surpassing the then USA record daily cases - in April 2021. Then, against their own will, the Brazilian governors had to enforce some kind of lockdown (because the ICUs were all filled), lowering the daily cases again (below 2,000 per day). Meanwhile, Ivermectin continues to be used by the Brazilian people en masse.

It's one thing to make a partial conclusion based on partial evidence when no other evidence is available - that's honest scientific ignorance. What's not acceptable in science is willing ignorance, i.e. when you know there is further evidence available that would disprove your hypothesis but you choose to ignore it just for the sake of advancing your career or other more obscure political/corporate interests. Whataboutism/cherrypicking is fatal in science.

There are two paths for demonstration of the effectiveness of a given drug against a given disease in modern biological sciences: 1) either you demonstrate the precise chemical mechanism through which the drug destroys the virus, in a controlled and reproducible scientific experiment anywhere in the world or 2) you don't explain the precise chemical mechanism, but have hundreds of thousands of randomized trials and medical data gathered from around the world through decades and decades (overwhelming statistical data). This "review" wouldn't even pass the undergraduate monograph stage.

Modern Western researchers are sell outs. They are not reliable. As with humanities, you also have to do due diligence with them.

I am trying to post a reply to question regarding the supplies that China has provided to India in its fighting against covid19 in another thread. It seems some surveillance malware is monitoring here because it keeps on snipping away one of the web link. Wondering why?

So, I decide to re-post here again just in case it is gone again.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are the victim (or intended result) of MSM misinformation, since this is exactly what it aims to achieve.

The Western MSM simply blocks/refuses to inform you that China and Russia have already provided India way more supplies (Oxygen Concentrators, PPE, Vaccines, etc.) than what US/UK & Co put together.

India was initially NOT willing, still not publicly acknowledged, to accept China's help due to its self-inflicted anti-China propaganda during the border skirmish last year and Indian ruling elites' hubris.

On April 24th, China firmly supports the Indian gov&people in fighting COVID19. We are willing to provide support at Indian's needs, and are keeping in touch with India for this.

April 25th, 800 Oxygen Concentrators have been airlifted today to #Delhi ; 10,000 more in a week.

April 30th, Since this April, China has supplied more than 5000 ventilators, 21,569 oxygen generators, over 21.48 million masks & around 3800 tons of medicines to India

Chinese President #XiJinping on Friday sent a message of sympathy to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over India's COVID-19 situation. China is willing to help India in the fight against COVID-19.

For two days in a row, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent a message of sympathy and had a phone call with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

But, take a look at the twitter of S. Jaishankar, who thanks profusely and re-twitters Indian reporter's gratitude for "100 ventilators & 95 oxygen concentrators" and his cold, if not arrogant, response to China' FM Wangyi's call and offer of help.

<--- IF you care to read through the replies under his twitter, you'd wonder how thoroughly brainwashed the majority of Indians are!

Indian government and media have thank all the countries, even the smallest ones, for supporting its fighting against covid19, but they do NOT have the decency and grace to say "thank you" to China, whose workers have been working overtime during the 5-day May holiday.

(Sorry my link to these numbers is "eaten away" whenever I tried to poston MOA. If you want the original link, please to Tom Fowdy's twitter.)

But thanks to the total black out of MSM, even some of the readers of MOA do NOT know how many supplies China has provided for India.

thanks for the ivermectin discussion to all. vk's comments re Brazil should be considered. hope somebody more knowledgeable than I weighs in.

it would be helpful if the peoples whose approach has been a total disaster weren't at war with the peoples who, following Enemy#1's route (=China's), have had great success with the virus. when the virus broke out, 100% of the boards of Pfizer, Moderna, Bayer, etc., and thus the NIH (vel sim in Britain et al) and thus the national gov't (again, ditto in other countries) expressed their raison d'etre: making money off of chaos and catastrophe, using fear and confusion to control people. Effective treatment and/or cure has NEVER been the goal except that such might be necessary for other sectors of the economy (NB: not the military; there is not the tiniest chance in hell that the people running the Western covid response can defeat even Cuba in war. they can achieve nothing else than disaster.)

the absolute last thing you will hear in the US: the more you act like China re covid, the more likely you are to survive. you won't hear this because "we follow the science." indeed, we do follow our science: to diabetes, obesity, fish extinction et al and hallelujah for the extra early jump on the wildfires this season in the West. trust me i know, no part of the gov't has any plan about wildfires other than offering talk therapy and, when that fails, Big Brother's psychiatry for the madness of resistance. There is the full expectation from health, social services, etc., etc. in WA state that we will be dealing w/multiple statewide disasters this summer.

there will be lots of kindling to burn the witches who suggest we do something different than chop down all the trees and dump gas everywhere. try suggesting to a GP that sitting in a car is at least as bad for the individual as smoking and of course 10000 times worse for the environment. try telling a cytopathologist at the VA that the best cure for invasive cancers is not to join the US military. or just any ol' person that alcoholism, suicide, etc., etc. aren't tokens of the most bestest society in human history. you'll be lucky to "get away with crucifixion" (Life of Brian).

"people form governments to promote the general welfare." i hope the "woke" crowd gets some welfare out of the US gov't. something just doesn't ring true, sincere, about the CIA's intentions in this kind of self-promotion. just how much this country celebrates the murder of a disabled (sic) former employee make me pause. I wonder what Chelsea Manning's thoughts are on how "woke" the US is?

Alastair Crook has another great article:

https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2021/05/08/butterfly-effect-re-setting-global-paradigm/

A great analysis in what is in store for the axis of resistance, China and Russia included. It describes the wheels that are turning toward isolating and dividing these powers.

“….the heartland must never be allowed to unite. China and Russia (and Iran) must be kept apart, and be divided through ‘triangulation’, as Dr Kissinger used to say. First it was Afghanistan that was the ‘swamp’ in which Russia (then USSR) was to be mired; then Syria; and now it is to be the Ukraine that is supposed to keep Russia pre-occupied and on edge – Containment, whist the U.S. focusses on isolating China.”

IMHO, China, Russia and Iran need to first, formalize their strategic pact. Then, invite as many regional powers as they can i.e. Pakistan, Turkey, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina and the Philippines. By any means necessary. Take a page out of American playbook and turn the elections. Whatever it takes.

The only way they can triumph is to be proactive and stop being a reactionary force. US will stop at nothing to divide and create chaos at every turn. To destroy BRI before it even starts. Proactive by any means. The time for diplomacy and reasoning has come to an end.

First, priority number one. Get off the dollar. Second, squeeze Europe for what it’s worth through tech and petroleum. With current economic climate across Europe, there are no reserves for hardship.

Deploy and stretch forces within ME, Mediterránea and beyond. China needs to secure Myanmar to make an example. India is on the brink of a shift in political power. Secure those ties and turn the elections.

Iran with the help of its allies needs to put SA and Emiratis in their place, End the Yemeni quagmire. Same goes for Syria and Libya. Russia needs to get rid of Zelensky and the other clowns, the Nazis. However it sees fit.

But before embarking on these endeavors, they need to hit US hard. Cyber attacks, sabotage the financial centers, etc . Once US gets bugged down in its economic swamp, then EU will fall into place.

IMO, that is the only way to confront US and its agenda. Playing nice and staying on the sidelines, a la appeasement, will only make the appeaser weaker and more divided. A lot of wishful thinking, harsh measures and unlikely events. I know. My point is that they need to get off their asses and stop just reacting.

Patrick Armstrong's essay is excellent, an brilliant way of recasting Putin's use of Kipling, and the basic need to learn from past mistakes--yours and others. For Russia, Ukraine was already a basket case by 2004, and by 2014 it was clear to Russia that it should just reclaim what remained Russian and let the West deal with the destabilized remainder--a destabilization the West had conducted itself. Georgia was similar--what was Russian was kept and the headaches passed to NATO. The Ukraine events of 2014 helped end the long held idea of a Western leaning Russia, and pushed it to explore its genuine interests instead of those dreampt of by Europhile Russians. (Glenn Diesen covers that point very well.)

The best example Armstrong makes is Iran. Simple Imperial hubris turned it into an enemy and turned what had been sour historical relations with Russia/USSR into the close partnership we see today. The entire basis for what's deemed the "Immigration Invasion" into the Outlaw US Empire from South of the border is entirely the fault of the Empire and its policies. As a longtime Californian, one of the standing jokes was that Mexico would eventually reclaim all the lands Polk stole, and that's exactly what we're now witnessing.

I keep on referring barflies to Linebaugh and Rediker's The Many-Headed Hydra: Sailors, Slaves, Commoners, and the Hidden History of the Revolutionary Atlantic because it coveys the hubristic Imperial mindset of the Anglo Imperialists that led both Outlaw Empires--particularly the terror they employed to exploit and expropriate the basis for Capitalism in the beginning against their own people. This mindset and the methods employed are still very much the same, although the methods are far better masked now than then. IMO, Putin is very much aware of that history and how its employed nowadays. Thus we have a situation where both China, Russia, and their closest allies are promoting the development of Human Capital with the goal of poverty elimination against what's best described as its opposite--the continuing expropriation and exploitation of Human Capital for the benefit of the very few while poverty soars.

The smart world leaders have studied global history very well and have learned its basic lessons--promote your fundamental national asset--your human capital--and play the long game while cooperating with like-minded nations and keeping those opposed to your methods at arms length or better as they will fail in the long game by neglecting their basic asset. Meanwhile, the groupthinkers don't study history or much of anything else and believe that monetary wealth alone is all that's required to win as they neglect the physical condition of their nation and primary asset, particularly the latter's mental state, and thus sow the seeds of their failure and revolt.

to Hemiola etc. Wow. I’m impressed. We’re finally talking some truth about treatment.

Most importantly is this link to German attorney Reiner Fuellmich giving both a history and overview of the propaganda used to promote the currently used PCR test and the “vaccines.” Some may recall that suits were successfully brought in Portugal and Austria challenging the veracity of the PCR tests. Two points to note: !. the very high cycles produce large numbers of false positives - up to 90%, and 2. the test is not (NOT) a diagnostic tool for a variety of reasons which you will read about in the article. Reiner Fuellmich is bringing suits for crimes against humanity. A very interesting turning point.http://www.opensourcetruth.com/dr-reiner-fuellmich-begins-legal-litigation-on-the-covid-19-fraud-the-greatest-crime-against-humanity/

And now onto Crooke's essay that Alpi @37 has already commented upon.

After their UNSC speeches, I see no reason for China or Russia to alter their direction or policy. The same goes for Iran. I do see a need to bolster ASEAN, but most of Asia was already in a consolidation paradigm that is focused on solving Afghanistan. The essential key is the Friends of the UN Charter Group founded by Russia, China, and Iran, and those nations rallying to the #1 Central Rules Based International Order established in 1945, not the run-around attempt by the Outlaw US Empire and its Neoliberal vassals to continue the Empire's unilateralism that is the source of all current global problems. The EUP's threats aimed at Russia are completely empty; and as observed a great many times, there's zero factual basis for them. Policies formulated on lies don't last very long--look at Ukraine. The Zero-sum nature of Neoliberalism guarantees its own demise as we observe nation by nation drained of its ability to aid the development of its primary asset--its human capital--that just votes with its feet. Eventually, the situation that existed during the Cold War when those within the USSR and its satellites looked hungrily at the West's comforts created by industrial capitalism will be reversed as those within the Eurasian Economic Union/BRI focus on developing their human capital and eliminating poverty. The geoeconomic dynamics driven by the differing ideologies will produce starkly different outcomes that we are already seeing as China rids itself of extreme poverty while the Outlaw US Empire has several million homeless and several tens of millions mired in poverty with no hope of betterment anytime soon.

The West begins to look like a nudist camp whose denizens continually lie to themselves about how good they look when the opposite is the truth--they're hideously ugly as are their policies. Russia, China, Iran, and their allies all have the moral high ground and can claim the UN for their own since the Neoliberals want it to vanish. Calls to cull nations from SWIFT will only serve to initiate a new international monetary clearing system based on a basket of currencies that will mark the end of dollar hegemony. (A great many barflies think dedollarization is proceeding too slowly when it in fact is moving along quite well as a slow change will serve the world much better than one initiated by a sudden crisis.) Here's Shadowstats update for this weekend:

"April 2021 Jobs Increased by 266,000, Against an Expected Gain of 1,000,000, With Unemployment Rising to 6.1% from 6.0%, Instead of Falling to an Expected 5.8% -- but It Was Worse Than Headlined • Independent of the Headline GDP, and in Conjunction with Recent Inflation and Other Business Activity Readings, the April Labor Numbers Confirmed a Still Faltering, Pandemic-Collapsed Economy, Amidst Intensifying Broad Inflation • First-Quarter 2021 GDP Annualized Inflation Jumped to a 31-Year High of 4.1%, With Quarterly Real GDP Growth Hitting a Consensus 6.4%, Still Shy of Pre-Pandemic Recovery."

Shadowstats still shows real unemployment over 25%, demonstrating the vast gap between the nudist's imaginary and the impoverished's reality. Critically, nothing Biden or Congress has proposed cures this basic ill since this condition is favored by Neoliberals. And the EU isn't doing much better and will do much worse if it attempts to decouple from either Russia or China. As Diesen explains, the EU is dependent on each nation and doubly so on both, and that's a truth that can't simply be voted away.

IMO, the most important event of the past week in International Affairs was the UNSC meeting called by China dealing with Multilateralism, which has provoked some feedback. What follows are links to the three main speeches by China, then Outlaw US Empire, followed by Russia, which is somewhat how they actually occurred.

China.

Outlaw US Empire.

Russia.

No news agency I'm aware of provided these three transcripts for readers to digest and form their own analysis. This might even make a good article for b if he has few ideas for Monday.

Posted by: karlof1 | May 10 2021 0:01 utc | 45

I do want to highlight one of Blinken's paragraphs, which IMO is quite a Howler:

"At the same time, we will continue to push back forcefully when we see countries undermine the international order, pretend that the rules we’ve all agreed to don’t exist, or simply violate them at will. Because for the system to deliver, all countries must abide by it and put in the work for its success."

I shouldn't need to explain why I see it as such.

James, may I pull your ear just a moment ? I need to talk about percussion/music technical aspects.

Anybody else also please feel free to join in.

I think it was OldHippie that shared the anecdote with the amazing studio drummer who was reading sheet music, playing all these crazy accents, eating sushi and pushing up his glasses all at the same time. I got a kick out of that story.

I’m presently living in a small town in Quebec, and unfortunately, not cause I’m a snob, but peoples’ conversation topics seldom interest me.

So right now I’m having a craving to discuss technical aspects of music, that’s all it is. Like offbeats n shit.
Does « open thread » include that ?

Posted by: Featherless | May 10 2021 0:13 utc | 47

@ 47 featherless.. no problem! that was vinnie colaiuta that old hippie mentioned reading the crazy frank zappa songs where frank wrote out the drum parts - insane stuff in odd time signatures, and changing into other ones... the quebecious folks like the prog rock stuff! maybe not in a small town, but i know they dig this stuff in montreal and quebec city.. a friend turned me onto an iceland band - moron police, a few days ago.. not sure if that would appeal to you.. we can talk music on these open or week in review threads - yes!

@ Featherless 47 - you might be interested in a fellow Canadian, Venetian Snares. Perhaps you are familiar with him. He is extremely prolific. Some very aggressive electronic music. Quite percussive. He works in the 7/7 signature quite a bit.
Venetian Snares
He did a record with another Canadian, David Lanois
VSnares with David Lanois
I'm a pretty big fan. Quite interesting stuff. I hope you find it interesting!

Thank You!

Posted by: Jackrabbit | May 10 2021 0:39 utc | 50

HAH ! WOOT. Thank you James.

I just need to shoot the shit a bit. I was helping my 70 y.o. uncle with his video project (I’m the video guy, and 50 y.o.)

And he’s been on a paranoid tear. So we’re presently stalled, and i’m waiting for him to snap out of it. Meanwhile my electric bike battery died, my town is on a severe slant, I’m still waiting for the new battery to arrive from China, and I’m in too lousy shape to walk up the hill with a bag of groceries, not to mention I live in the Woods, so that’s where I spend most of my time, like Ralph Waldo Emerson. Living in the Woods is the best part, actually. If fucking love it.

So I need some soul food to sustain me.

I’m a Singer, and I like Jazz. Not that mopey contemporary stuff, like Norah Jones or Diana Krall. More like Anita O’Day, Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme.

I like to sing late on the beat. When I’m singing, I don’t know my timing until I actually sing it, which keeps it Live and spontaneous. My Mum played me a song by Aznavour, and he was singing early on the beat, which I found interesting. This is the kinda stuff I’m talkin about.

I knew a drummer, he said : « I like to accentuate the 1 ».

This is the kind of stuff I find interesting. Tell me your personal insights like that, please.

@ Featherless | May 10 2021 0:13 utc | 47 with the good observations about the music conversations that went on..thanks

I have enjoyed music all my life and do ecstatic dance now but don't have anything but rhythm in the way of chops or relationships with famous musicians to share....

That said, I have owned 3 RAV Vast (Russian) metal tongue drums for about 3 years now and am slowly teaching myself to play them individually and together. The 3 tunings are E Low Pygmy (9 notes), B Celtic Double Ding (10 notes) and a G Minor Pentatonic (9 notes) One note is on all 3 and various other notes are on two of them. I have been trying to find a musician that can suggest combinations/melodies for me but have not been successful so far. Another detail is that these 20 inch diameter flying saucers are meant to be played by hand but I use mallets because of hand nerve damage and have modified trap drum stand to hold them at standing playing height. They are wonderful instruments to play and hear played well...I hope to get to the well played part but am more into enjoying the creative process

Psychohistorian, I never heard of those before !

I agree about the mallets. My second favourite instrument is percussions. Bongos, with all the nuts and bolts... Injurious to the knuckles. I have a bongo that’s a wooden box (meinl) and I sanded and painted it myself, MUCH easier on the hands ! What good is it to win a kingdom if you wreck your hands ?

I imagine the instrument that’s easiest on the hands is the Theramin hahaha.

Psychohistorian, do you do « whirling dervish » type stuff ? It seems like Capoeira would mix in well with that.. what is this extatic dance ?

James, tell me some of your rhythmic predilections.

Posted by: Featherless | May 10 2021 1:06 utc | 57

Ecstatic dance is free form movement meditation to heavy bass beat world music mixed by DJ's. A good DJ can make the segue between cuts seamless and you just keep moving....

I went to one yesterday in the country near where I live and there were 50 or so of all ages...I am 72 Current Oregon Covid restrictions have us mostly masked unless 10+ feet apart...we were on a semi-paved rural road "closed off" for the 2 hour event....I say closed off because at the last one a farmer made notice he was coming through with farm equipment and we had to move partially onto the grass...grin

Reading responses:

1. Armstrong: as I said, I must be stupid, because

(a) I still do not understand how letting a Nazi state in your backyard, allied to your greatest enemy, is a smart move.

(b) I still do not understand how "you broke it, you fix it" works if the enemy deliberately broke it to use as a weapon against you.

(c) I still do not understand how, then, the USSR should have liberated Eastern Europe from the Nazis instead of stopping at the western border in 1944 and leaving the rest to be "fixed" by the Nazis. Sounds like a logical extension to me.

2. China's aid:

In India, lots of us know the truth, but as far as I can see Modi media is deafening in its silence about it. Typical of the gibbering globetrotting genocidal Gujarati gangster government is to protect the Cult of Modi at all costs. If at all it has to be acknowledged that China sent aid, it'll be cast as Modi forcing China to send it.

In any case it hardly matters what was sent when it's all piling up in customs warehouses. Modi, incidentally, has done a disappearing act, unlike last year when he bombastically pronounced that Covid would be eradicated in three weeks.

Even some Modi acolytes are now having second thoughts:

https://www.livemint.com/news/india/bjp-workers-question-party-pm-as-covid-takes-a-severe-toll-11620240888210.html

Though of course Modi's "scientists" are on the job:

3. Victory Day:

Nowadays I keep seeing Ameriganda recasting the Red Army soldiers as "rapists" and "looters". Wonder what happened to the 14000 or more rapes the Amerikastani armed forced committed in Britain.

Interesting step towards quantum computing (one of the seven technologies the capitalists claim will initiate the Fourth Industrial Revolution):

Chinese team designs 62-qubit quantum processor with world's largest number of superconducting qubits

Quantum computers have superfast parallel computing power, and hold the promise of exponentially accelerating the ability of classical computers in solving important social and economic problems, such as cryptography, big data optimization, material design and drug analysis, through specific algorithms.

[...]

The new Zu Chongzhi superconducting quantum computer can be applied to transportation planning, allowing for major optimization of traffic flows in a city, Yuan said.

It can also be used in the field of pharmaceuticals, quickly selecting the most promising combination of drug molecules from all available drug molecule candidates, he added, noting that people have high hopes for putting superconducting quantum computers into use in the pharmaceutical sector in five years.

It would be also very useful (maybe even indispensable) for a developed socialist system, as you can see.

@ lex talionis | May 10 2021 0:31 utc | 49 thanks for those music clips.. i am quite familiar with lanois's music and read his autobiography a few years ago.. he grew up in quebec and then hamilton and did some cool stuff with his brother before moving on to the bigger leagues musically.. that stuff has the brian eno influence... i like his more straight up stuff, and i love the sound of the pedal or lap steel and wish it was used more in other kinds of music then country which is where it has been traditionally associated with..

@ featherless... oh, okay!! playing with the time! first you have to know the time or have a really strong internal clock in order to play with the time - stretching or holding back on the time... billie holiday... have you listened to her much?? singing late on the beat creates a type of tension which you can release later in the bar i suppose.. some musician-singers call this back phrasing... frank sinatra kind of does this type thing too.. cassandra wilson is another one.. there are so many great singers, but i don't really think about whether they are singing behind or ahead of the beat so much... when i play with a singer like that i can get nervous that they haven't dropped a beat!! the really cool singer who came out the past few years is cecilia mcloren salvant - spelling is something like that... check this burt bacharach tune she sang in a very enticing way... you might dig her music if you like this one.. this videotography is very cool too as i see it... this lady is a big name in some jazz circles, pushing for greater exposure... Cécile McLorin Salvant - "Wives and Lovers"

here is a more obscure vocalist that i like.. jazzmeia horn, social call...

i like the brazilian singers, especially joyce... she is very jazz to me... she is married to a great brazilian jazz drummer, so maybe i am biased!!
joyce morenos, aprils child.. i love her bossa duets recording -joyce morenos, bossa duets ..

if you are into that sort of thing, you have to check out the flora purim - airto music.. they played with chick corea in his first formation of 'return for forever'.. flora purim is amazing! Light As A Feather that is chick corea from the 70's with flora singing..

wayne shorter really turned me and a number of other jazz folks into brazilian music with this recording - native dancer... this has milton nasciemento singing and he is unbelieveable! native dancer wayne shorter.. i think that is from 1976 or around that year... brilliant recording that turned me onto what is going on with the brazilians, in a really good way!

so much great music and it is especially fun if you are singing and playing it too! back tomorrow..

Rhythm is quite simple. Beats come in sets of two or sets of three. Once you understand that, everything is a lot easier to understand. Rhythm is simply action in time.

Obviously this is a conspiracy by sick people to defame India by deliberately dying.

Meanwhile the Modi regime plan to blame it all on China is taking shape.

In Modistan the primary vector of propaganda is Modifellating Bhaktonazi groups on WhatsApp (normal Unashamedly derisively call it WhatsApp University). Here is a forward sent to me by WhatsApp this morning by a Modi worshipper:

"I request all members of this eminent gp to ponder over it without any political or other biases.

Let's see the chronology.

1. Till February 2021, all seem to be wonderful.

2 The malls had opened, shopping centres restarted, schools were reopening and life was creeping back to normalcy in India.

3. The indian vaccine had been the "talk of the town" in the whole world with exports to 87 countries. Infact we were competing with China in most of the countries, as Indian vaccine gained more favour.

4. The farmer protests had almost died down and no major protests of any nature were happening in the country.

5. End February. The boundary talks with China have finally resulted in to some kind of negotiations.

6. March 2021.
There were some major arms deal signed and decision taken to manufacture a lot of equipment within the country.

7. 07 Apr- A major Maoist attack took place. A meeting called in Delhi to review counter naxal policy.

8. Between 10- 15 April. Within 5- 6 days, a huge wave hits India with unimaginable proportions completely overturning the situation.

9. Surprisingly no such Covid criticality in equally populated Pakistan and Bangladesh !!

10. By 20 April. By now whole international media jumps in to highlight inadequacies in Indian medical system and administration.Countries like Pakistan started talking of offering medical help to India.

11. 24 Apr. Glacier bursts takes place in Himalayan borders killing several people. Simultaneously articles appeared in the Chinese media saying India should not expect any more concessions on boundary talks.

Now the question is : Is this huge second wave, could be a result of a planned and carefully crafted biological attack by our adversaries to bring down our International standing and create internal unrest ???

(Please think over it with a cool mind and keep all political or other biases away.)

*Is the second corona wave a planned biological war against India?*
Do you believe that the *second wave of epidemic that is currently spreading in India* is due to the spread of the virus in general?
Until a fortnight ago I used to believe that this is the *second wave*, but now a lot of _deep doubts_ has gone home in my mind.
Look at the state of the entire *Indian subcontinent*. *The Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan* have no *second wave* in these countries or in any other country in Asia. Those countries today have similar conditions as they were in India two-and-a-half months ago.
Then how did this *bomb* explode in India itself?
Are the citizens of all those countries much more *disciplined than Indians*? Do they wear *masks* round the clock to avoid epidemics ?
No!
Is their *geographical location different from India*?
No!
Then, why this *second wave* could not even touch these countries and is *breaking* India, badly, why?
*ICMR* has said at the time of first wave that crores of people in India got this *disease* and they did not even know when *crores of people* suffered it and *immunity* developed in them then how come this *second wave*
*How dangerous did it become then*?
And why did it happen *only in India*?
Lets look at the global conditions before & now in this epidemic.
From *medicine, vaccine to economy management, India amazed the whole world*.
And now, understand the * real concern of *China*. talking of *help to India* today.
Last year was also *infiltrating in the epidemic period*.
After getting the *kicks* they started to help us, *does it not raise doubts* ????
_Pakistan as Chirashatru is lamely talking of help too_!!!..
One very important reason is that *Modi* is not bowing down like *Trump*.
The world's *Pharma Lobby, Oil Lobby and Arms Lobby* created this *epidemic and under the guise of *BlackLivesMatter* and
*George Floyd* beat *Trump* to retreat, by causing a terrible uproar in the *media on the epidemic issues*.
All because *Trump* confronted these *lobbies*. Today the same lobby people are painstakingly on all fours with day in day out attacks on *Modi*.
Do you know why?
Because ...the business of : *pharma companies at least 4 to 6 trillion dollars (annually)*.
*Vaccine business of at least 1.25 trillion*
Is all set to be reduced to zero.
The *PPE Kit* of *500 billion dollars* and *business of mask* was almost reduced to near nothing, when people relaxed after *first wave*, and even _went to Kumbh, election rallies etc, with minimal caution_.
In the light of medical sufficiency of India, the lobbies was suffering *colossal loss*.
How did the country that was always _hands to mouth_ become a *vaccine exporting country*?
And who was not digesting all this?
Know this *pain* of a country like *Germany*, lamenting how *India* beat us in the field of *Drugs*
Think all over again what slipped & got out of hands of other affluent nations?.
Go ahead ...Can anyone imagine 75000 to 100000 charging stations are being built for *electric vehicles* in India in the next 2 - 3 years which will reduce *oil consumption by/upto 30%*.?
This is a slap in the face of the *global oil lobby*.
And not only this...
... India has started to *export LCA fighter planes* and *BrahMos missile* which is proving to be a *big blow* to the *global arms lobby*.
*Modi is a big thorn* in the way of all these lobbies …
... and believing that this *thorn can be removed only by public anger* is the tacit ploy of these lobbies.
Imagine *Pfizer* calling up for defense set up in exchange of vaccine, drugs, a new arm twisting tactics with needy nations.
Another aspect...
Most people are now shown to be angry at *Modi's rallies and campaigning in Assam and West Bengal elections. But
They have no understanding of *Geo Politics*.
*15 crore Bangladeshis and Rohingyas intruders* in Assam n West Bengal *Didi* and *Gandhi* made *Aadhaar Card* for everyone, as being more important to India than *Kashmir issue*.
(Search * "Chicken Neck" * on Google).
Believe it or not, *second wave of Chinese disease in India has been brought to fail Modi on every front and to trigger *civil war in the country*.
It is a *dangerous game* of the *Maoists of China* and its *sleeper cells* hiding in India…
Showing *24x7 corpses and *lack of oxygen* of *pandemic* against *Modi government* is a opposition-led part of this *conspiracy* in collusion with big tech lobbies of developed world to overthrow the present dispensation, and reinstall the leftists- Maoists, as happened in America.
But here they forget, _Modi isn't Trump_, at best turmoil for trouble will linger, dampening to *stability & survival* as an outcome.
Come on,come to think, 'Why is the same *mother* dying as a *mother* of hundreds'?
Why only the *crowd* in the *crematoriums*?
Same *70 tweets* - Why- our *Amma died without oxygen* ??
*Tool Kit Gang* Again Active On whose *hint*?
Suddenly the *farmer* also returned to the *border*?
As soon as the *recovery scandal* surfaced in Maharashtra, and Modi started winning *Bengal*.
... how did *the epidemic* appear again * ???
*Brothers, this is a conspiracy Believe it or not* !!
*This could be a huge war*!
I am not an expert but look at situations and think why all of a sudden it happened only with byIndia ?
It can be a *formidable biological weapon* !!!
After a short interval, this fight *is going to go a long way*."

My response, which was not acknowledged:

What a load of rubbish. Only Modi worshippers will be stupid enough to believe or forward such idiocy. Where in Pakistan or Bangladesh or Nepal did the government hold a Kumbh Mela or multiple state elections in multiple phases even when the scientists were warning about a second wave?

Antony Blinken Continues To Lecture The World on Values His Administration Aggressively Violates: Greenwald

Continuing his world tour doling out righteous lectures to the world, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday proclaimed — in a sermon you have to hear to believe — that few things are more sacred in a democracy than “independent journalism.”
...
The rhetorical cherry on top of that cake came when he posed this question: "What is to be afraid of in informing the people and holding leaders accountable?” The Secretary of State then issued this vow: “Everywhere journalism and freedom of the press is challenged, we will stand with journalists and with that freedom.” Since I know that I would be extremely skeptical if someone told me that those words had just come out Blinken's mouth, I present you here with the unedited one-minute-fifty-two-second video clip of him saying exactly this:

Colonial Pipeline...

Have some countries had enough, sending the US a message to stop interfering with their own oil exports/supply? There's a long list of possible aggrieved parties with motive... almost enough to work together and provide some axis of resistance one would say... but means? is a bigger rival putting their hand on the scales of the '(our) rules based order'?

The thought that came to my mind as perpetrators was "false flag".

Cui Bono? To me this gives dying empire a place to assert blame and increase the FUD level bringing more in line with whomever strong leadership says we MUST go to war with....

And think about the increase in profit from no increase in supply for who knows how long...

What do all those other folks get but to laugh at the wussiness of Americans and then worry about if the drunken idiot with a gun is going to point it in their direction.....

So this car bomb was parked outside the Kabul girls' school for three hours before it exploded but the puppet child sex slaver Quisling warlord regime didn't check it. There doesn't seem to be any reason to doubt who was responsible, especially given that the same puppet child sex slaver Quisling warlord regime is desperate to continue the Amerikastani Empire occupation because that's the only way it can survive.

So when Blinken says:

..all members should meet their commitments – particularly the legally binding ones. That includes the UN Charter, treaties and conventions, UN Security Council resolutions, international humanitarian law, and the rules and standards agreed to under the auspices of the World Trade Organization and numerous international standard-setting organizations. Let me be clear – the United States is not seeking to uphold this rules-based order to keep other nations down.. ..Our aim is simply to defend, uphold, and revitalize that order.
..the United Nations is based on the principle of the sovereign equality of its member-states..
..All of us must accept the scrutiny, however difficult, that comes with the commitments we have freely made. That includes the United States. I know that some of our actions in recent years have undermined the rules-based order and led others to question whether we are still committed to it. Rather than take our word for it, we ask the world to judge our commitment by our actions.

.. you don't believe anything will change?

I must admit I laughed out loud when I read this bit of guff in The Drive:..."the networks used to send the targeting information may be the more significant capability demonstrated here."

Well, yeah, seeing as how the network was the ONLY capability that was on display.

Consider:

I have an imaginary friend "Harvey", and I have a family.

The former is a six-foot invisible rabbit, which is an infinitely more interesting concept than a run of the mill family.

But it is the latter that is the more significant, for the simple reason that they actually exist whereas Harvey, well, not so much.

While it may be that the "un-apologetic" CIA skims drug money.

Rather, I think they are working on a regime change in Mexico - disruption is easy, if messy. This regime change thing is a problem for everyone at some point. Nations need to work together to try to over-come this method of attack - mutual support and training. Requires methods of "facsism" I imagine.

To some other poster claiming that Gates funds 45% of WHO. No. Not even close. The Gates Foundation funded 9% in 2018-19 which is quite impressive but not 45%. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Health_Organization
The top 10 funded 40% and China did not even show up on the list which is another reason not to accept the CIA/Security state lie that 'China Controls the WHO'. The U.S. is indeed undermining global trust in global institutions and a rules based world order.

PDidds @71 asks:

"you don't believe anything will change?"

Idiocrates @76 provides an excellent example to back his answer of "Hell No!"

I prefer to look at the complete record since the day the UN Charter came into force on 22 October 1945 when the Outlaw US Empire and its fellow British criminal were already busy violating the Charter and haven't ceased since. Recent global polling shows almost 50% of the planet's people see the Outlaw US Empire as the #1 threat to their nation, and that realization continues to rise. As Lavrov points out, Blinken engages in double talk when trying to exonerate the Empire's attempt to create a Neoliberal based set of global rules that's separate from the UN Charter--an attempt that's been ongoing since GHW Bush announced the New World Order in 1991, which was swiftly followed by the new doctrine/policy goal of attaining Full Spectrum Dominance over the planet and its people first publicly "announced" via the publication of Joint Vision 2010 in 1996 followed by its update, Joint Vision 2020 in 2000, both during Clinton's reign and prior to the Neocons gaining power through the Judicial Coup in 2001--One must see the PNAC (Project for the New American Century) as a Bipartisan gambit as the Duopoly was completely ruled by Neoliberalism by that time. Indeed, continuity is the key message the historian reads when studying US History since 1876. I suggest reading this essay by historian Greg Grandin from 2019 when I first shared it with MoA's barflies. He shows how the Unilateralism of the Outlaw US Empire evolved over the years and why the UN Charter is key to stopping that behavior IF it ever gets observed.

Another fact I've written about here in connection with the above is that every time the UN Charter is broken the US Constitution is also broken due to what's known as the Supremacy Clause--once ratified, the UN Charter became part of the Law of the Land, and as such whenever its broken an act of Treason occurs for all federal government officials swear to uphold and defend the Constitution. So for 75+ years, those leading the federal government have engaged in Treason and malgovernance, Biden and Company included.

But to the question, will the Outlaw US Empire change its behavior? Yes, it will be forced to do so eventually as it continues to degenerate due to the parasitical nature of Neoliberalism. For an analysis of that phenomenon, I highly suggest Michael Hudson's Killing the Host, for what is occurring within the nations shackled to Neoliberalism isn't just some happenstance but a planned method of financial rapine that has a long and bloody history, which is often discussed here. Another very important review of why we're in our current pickle is provided by this Hudson talk at the Oxford Economics Society.

Posted by: karlof1 | May 10 2021 16:05 utc | 86

I highly suggest this Martin Jacques essay: "Why Chinese system can offer more choices than Western democracy." A key initial point Jacques raises:

"The belief that Western democracy is universally applicable is at its most absurd when it comes to China. Chinese governance and statecraft are the oldest and most successful the world has ever seen. Francis Fukuyama argues, furthermore, that Chinese governance has displayed greater continuity over two millennia than any other. China's history and culture is profoundly different from that of the West, and its governing system has been and remains the most important expression of this difference."

Enjoy!

There have been well-documented worldwide protests against lockdowns (not corruption) and none for early treatment of Covid-19.
This article looks at two different concepts to address the Covid-19 pandemic, the importance of this debate goes very much beyond Canada as it's essentially a debate between further lockdowns and travel and other restrictions on the one hand, and more use being made of early outpatient treatment:

Relax Biswapriya, China lost nothing because Modi wouldn't express gratitude for the aid provided. China didn't do it for Modi, nor did it for accolades, nor did it for future reciprocity. China did it as a humanitarian gesture in times of disaster. If the assistance helped, it's a reward in itself.

But it's good to know that many in India know the truth regardless of the soulless elite and ruling class cynicism.

I love how stuff at GR from CA on the virus is like a really good episode of Alex Jones, but from our clearly brighter neighbors up north.

e.g.,
"You can get Ivermectin from doctors online. Myfreedoctor.com"

easily googed public health documents from and about Finland sure seem to talk about a "flu season", me not being an expert in such matters. I don't even profess to understand English, when a "flu season starting in December" is not a season. of influenza. and i been studyin english goin on fitty years now. or so i was told.

"Inflammatory (cytokine) storm cannot be controlled without adequate vitamin D levels." I'd buy that, if i can afford to. what's the harm? thanks Dr. Jones. Is he another eye doctor advising the state of TX, pointing out some pretty obvious and horrible public health facts, after which he should shut the hell up? (that one guy from Texas A&M, ending his presentation w/ "hook 'em horns!" real confidence-inspiring.)

"The best mask of all is your immune system." yeah, my basketball coach taught me high school biology in the great state of TX, so I could see why a nation full of truck nuts believes this crap. who said there is no end to void? one can only imagine what a healthy immune system does for pneumonic plague. AIDS. cancer. Ebola. the flu. a mosquito bite. etc. evidence-free imaginings is all we have.

how is the immune system a "mask"? isn't masking and isolation in order to protect the immune system? again, born and bred here, but i just don't get English. I don't have high-wattage brain power like these MD's, so let me ask a stupid question: is India above or below that geographical boundary he indicated so we can test this Vitamin D thing? I ask about geography cuz again, born and bred in this nation of dumbasses. do they get enough sunlight there? wait, they are on the other side of this flat earth, how do we...?

this ever-flattening earth, soon to be like one of Thomas Friedman's wife's malls: out of business.

Thanks to Yves @ nakedcapitalism - it's not a long discussion but she has both the video and the transcript - a slightly different take on what are the economics questions, though Prof. Hudson manages to bring that into perspective with clarity on the common ground one 'monotheistic' protagonist has found with his take on economics. And also within the discussion is a good historical look at the reasons reparations are a meaningful issue, so long as the unifying umbrella of poverty reparations for all is at the core.

@37 Hemiola

Thank you for your links and all your posts regarding how to defeat COVID-19.

I just watched one of your priceless links, this interview with the lawyer forcing hospitals to administer Ivermectin against their obstinate (and murderous) refusal to do so: Ralph Lorigo Talks NY Court Rulings Over Ivermectin Use In Covid-19 Treatment | Interview

I saw one truly priceless comment on YouTube about that interview, how the world is upside down, where now hospitals are killing people and lawyers are saving lives!

But that's what it's taking with the US medical system refusing to admit that there's a treatment for COVID-19, and being required by court orders to supply Ivermectin - after which, the patient gets better and goes home cured.

~~

So this is the shift in the world, and even in the USA - the facts of what works are becoming so abundant that the truth cannot be hidden any longer. Hundreds of thousands of lives thrown away because of the greed of Big Pharma, and the rigidity of institutions, while good doctors have been defamed and disenfranchised. And now it's turning.

One wonders how many millions of people vaccinated against a treatable disease - under a vaccine's emergency authorization (EUA) that has no validity if it's shown that there is a treatment for the disease - will come to wonder what just happened to them, in the years to come. One wonders if there may be lawsuits anyway, even if the vaccine manufacturers have immunity.

Does FDA have immunity if it can be shown that it wrongly granted an EUA? What happens if there are downsides to the vaccines discovered, years down the road? What happens to immunity if millions of people sue anyway? And if millions are aggrieved, and no legal redress can be found, what do those millions then do? If immunity keeps Big Pharma safe from lawsuits, what will keep it safe from the people's justice?

~~

The disease was treatable all along, using a medicine that is out of patent and enormously cheap, with decades of safe use to recommend it in any risk/reward equation.

And actually - as an aside - what a wonderful thing to become apparent. COVID-19 is treatable. If you get it, it can be treated, with a high degree of success so far, all around the world.

~~

It seems that even just a few months ago in these threads, to talk about Ivermectin was to be lost in the noise and confusion. And now we're seeing links to studies even in the open thread leader articles from b. Reality is winning against the unreality.

May it continue to win. May it take down the non-human filth that runs Big Pharma, and corrupted degenerates such as Fauci. May people see how their media and their medical establishment are all corporate, and how corporate simply doesn't know how to be human - and how it strips the humanity out of all the humans it draws into its dead, greed-obsessed world.

May there be some gain out of all this waste.

Dr. X,

I have an economics degree from long ago and have just watched Big Pharma shove their future income streams down the throat of those of us in the West and am seeing the medical field not responding like I would have hoped for.
I am writing because I want to get from your organization an 'At-Home' Ivermectin kit to be used in case I start to develop Covid symptoms. When can I expect to receive such?

IMO, the medical community needs to make the provision of health care in America publically motivated and funded instead of the current profit before 'Do No Harm' structure.

Thank you for reading my concerns and I look forward to your reply,
James

Hi James,

Dr. X is out of clinic and I am covering in his absence. I can certainly understand your skepticism about pharmaceutical companies. Unfortunately, we do not have completed studies showing benefit of ivermectin yet and are not prescribing it for COVID-19 infections at this time. Please feel free to schedule a telephone appointment with Dr. X if you'd like to discuss further.

Wishing you the best,
Kaiser Staff

"

My recent response
"
Dr. X,

I wrote you a message about wanting a Ivermectin based treatment kit like is being offered in Mexico city for example and was told by staff that there is no study support for such. I am responding back with a link refuting that claim.

The link
not included here because if screws up the formatting....grin

Profit or health care. Time to make a decision Kaiser!!!!

I guess I encourage others to push on the health care system to not become another totally financialized sector of our "society".

If they respond with anything interesting I will share.
