Too bad all that money given to Neoliberal Parasites can’t be grabbed back to use properly. And that’s one of the big problems with Biden’s proposal–too much gets wasted on grease for the Vested Interests that doesn’t do anything to solve the problems. Meanwhile, the Outlaw US Empire’s main competitors are busy implementing their already devised and funded plans, although Putin seeks extra financial support for regional development projects tied to the overall program of national priorities. Of course the big impediment within the Empire are the Neoliberals who want it all for themselves and will oppose all legislation that doesn’t do that. Paco @200– @ : vk | Mar 31 2021 21:14 utc | 199
Posted by: Bernard F. | Mar 31 2021 22:14 utc | 204 to librul. I read your post #1… heart breaking – or better said – it broke mine back in the day. I didn’t watch your utoob link because I was aware of the staggering hypocracy and betrayal back when it happened. Bomber went from Aretha Franklin and Yo Yo Ma at the inauguration to war criminal at nearly the speed of light. To quote the poet “don’t ask me why I don’t live there – honey why don’t you move?” But thanks for posting. One needs to be reminded of – Ok another quote “the horror the horror” and there are still many people who don’t know. Another quote “go to the good” Posted by: Miss Lacy | Apr 1 2021 0:12 utc | 205 karlof1 your Primakov link goes to goodreads! One of my favorite places to while away an hour. [The phrase “market players” is meaningless, blending together a street cart vendor or beauty salon operator or roofer with the proprietor of a factory or mine or movie studio. The benefits will go to the larger players, as is meant. Perhaps this POTUS’s orders will be followed? I hadn’t remembered that Yeltsin’s announcement of Putin as his successor took place on Dec. 31,1999. That certainly explains the emotion evident in Putin as he gives that New Year’s speech every year. It is also very helpful to be reminded of the immediate aftereffect of the attack on the US at 9/11. All conspiracy theories aside, the problems in Chechnya and Dagestan gave Russia and the US common issues to face which ought to have provided the opportunity then and there to forestall the stupidity that underlay US insistence on enmity. But already in the diplomatic cold shoulder Primakov reports as having occurred before that, the underlying division was in the works. And there was a lot more of that kind of nastiness to follow. Hunter Biden’s autohagiography is coming out next week. Posted by: Carl | Apr 1 2021 17:27 utc | 241 Thank you, psychohistorian @ 212. This article reminds me of what we saw Russia doing in meetings and in Putin’s long conversations addressing the people’s concerns – something that isn’t possible in the US today, if it ever was. I am remembering there was an online site for such interaction that Obama had set up, which so quickly got taken down and was even then only a one way sort of ‘suggestion box’ for people to post a message. Openness is a sign of honest intent, and ongoing improvements underway are a sign of humility. Things aren’t perfect; we can make them better. Thinking like this just goes on to foster more closed mindedness and likely makes the world seem much worse than it is. This poster appears to me as constantly invested in supposition and rumor… and all his contributions here reflect that. Posted by: George Smiley | Apr 5 2021 21:51 utc | 256 |
