Grieved & others, something that just occurred to me, kind of along those lines, is I was wondering why the secrecy about which vaccine a person will be jabbed with, and it makes sense in the context of a “pie-sharing” deal, where govts and the vaccine companies have agreed to share the number of people getting vaccinated. Purely speculative on my part.

OK it’s Friday night where I live which means Art doesn’t it? I dunno which is probably just as well cos I’m not sure how ‘artistic’ this offering is, called ‘Watergate’ it is a 6 part doco made in 2018 about the Watergate scenario, a piece of political theatre which fascinated amerikans and the world for close to 18 months back in the early 70’s.
Why that, why now? Well on Monday I crashed into a NYT article about how documentary director Charles Ferguson had launched a lawsuit against A&M for mucking up the release of his documentary on Watergate. Made in 2018 the doco features contemporary interviews with many of the watergate personalities who’re still extant – most but not all came from the impeach/charge camp, as well as news footage from the time and modern docudrama scenes taken from the Whitehouse tapes.
When I first read the article I assumed I had already seen the series, I do tend to gather and hoard political stories like a magpie, but when a search through my catalog indicated I didn’t have, hadn’t seen the thing I set about tracking it down.
Allegedly A&M only screened the doco once on the History channel back in 2018 and didn’t publicise it too well because they wanted to stay on side with the then prez and they felt the series subtitle “How We Learned to Stop an Out of Control President” may upset the incumbent should CNN/MSNBC taunting about parallels encourage the low life to tune into the history channel and become angry.
I watched the whole thing and was entertained, even occasionally informed. Those who tried to upstage in 1973 hadn’t changed but we also got to hear from the shit kickers in Archibald Cox’s team – types fresh outta law school from both halves of the Amerikan Empire Party who provide the best perspective. Some of it was predictable, contemporary Bob Woodward makes you want to vomit more than ever while Carl Bernstein comes across as the reporter we don’t have any more.
I finally found a set, garnered from Oz public service TV so if anyone wants to be reminded of Jeb Magruder, Chuck Colsen & the rest of that era’s total scumbags in a well structured informative way grab it here

Macron again ,I’m so sick and fed up with french presidents.Every five years one is appointed by a minority of voters.Then the guy has his say and sway on every f343ckng subject,while the french people complain,but the next one no different,will be there for another five years,unchallenged by lack of political opposition.

I don’t know if the City of London is part of the normal UK tax regime but I suspect it is. There may be special conditions for some types of corporate bodies and I would think definitely for the Worshipful Companies of various trades. For those living there, rich people don’t of course, it would be like living over the shop, normal tax applies.
As to Trusts, like the US and I assume others, the wealthy park their assets in them as they are regarded as corporate bodies that don’t die so no death tax. But that doesn’t mean they bear no tax, they do. How much depends on their age and type.
Also anyone can set up a trust but it is not worth it unless you are putting over £1M into it. The operating costs are high and there is a tax bill every 10 years.

I think you will find that apart from a title, some nick knacks, and some small change (in his terms) Hugh Grosvenor inherited little directly from his father on his death. He would only have paid tax if his father had saved money from his annual allowance or external income (his father was in the British Army). For example the latest Duke of Bedford did pay tax due to his father squirreling away over £1m. The later makes for good publicity for the peons.
What he did become was the prime beneficiary of the Grosvenor Trusts (not sure of names and quantities) worth, as you say, about £9 billion. With proper planning he would not have paid much tax.
As the prime beneficiary he will be able to draw on the vast income of the Trusts estates and other assets. Living in and benefiting from what is there is pretty automatic. But, given the Trustees role is not handing out money hand over fist to a potential spendthrift but preserving the wealth for the future generations, he might find it a hard sell to get it sometimes. The Trustees also have to take into account the needs of the other beneficiaries like his mother and sibling(s) etc.

I can’t imagine how you lose most of your savings when the stock market has not crashed.
Furthermore, it is clear you don’t look at core data vs. read people who have no idea what is going on.
As I noted above – Asia has not been buying hardly any US Treasuries for well over a decade. This data is publicly available at the US Treasury site – just internet search for “major foreign holders of us treasuries”.
Yet even that is irrelevant. What really matters is that there is still no alternative to the US dollar internationally. Despite the “sitout” by Asia, foreign holders of US Treasuries are still around 25% – down from well over 30% prior to the “embargo”.
Essentially none of the new debt since 2008 has been monetized by foreigners. That should tell you something.
But what it tells you is not that the US dollar is going down tomorrow.
There has to be an alternative first and there is none at this moment in time.
Secondly, the only way you can lose huge amounts of principle with a stock market that is treading water is using ETFs or derivatives. If you aren’t a seasoned investor with a deep capital base – you shouldn’t be messing with those things. Newbies – whether Robinhood or a traditional brokerage – dabbling in derivatives is like chicks pushing themselves into shark infested waters.

I think the intent is to crash the system real hard so the personal suffering will insure global private finance is not one of the symptoms complained about even though part of the process will be debtmageddon. I think debtmageddon has been structured by now to have the holders be pension funds, individual investors, etc…all but the elite that have moved their debt to others.
With a hard crash the derivative issue will be quite the show with some backroom dealers for the elite saying they own everything and everybody….grin

The reason I know a bit about trusts is that I am a beneficiary of one. My father, who retired as an RAF Wing Commander, having worked his way up from being a clerk in the Port of London, ended up in a house and garden worth about £1m (it cost £10k when he bought it in 1967). So he was UK middle class, definitely not rich. He wanted to protect his legacy from his sons potentially avaricious wives plus put it beyond the reach of the taxman after he had paid his due. So a trust was the solution and whilst it costs my brother and I quite a lot our children will benefit. We would then expect the trusts to be liquidated.
No, the really wealthy are not large taxpayers, they have advisors who make sure they don’t and in particular have long running trusts. Do the normally wealthy and rich pay lots of tax then quite often yes, especially if it was generated in their lifetime. Many move it outside the UK but like the IRS our Inland Revenue is hot on their tails. Anyone earning £100k up is paying a lot of tax. Most of the wealth spread around the UK is in the houses we live in and the local tax on that is pretty low, especially on the valuable houses and estates.

I just watched the exchange between Rand Paul and Fauci on the critical question of reinfection and Fauci’s insistence on wearing masks. I am no fan of either of these people.
My take away is that Fauci is a bullshitter and the medical fraternity of the USAstan needs to disown him. His desperate clinging to straws in the face of expanding immunity by those that have already been infected and recovered or in most cases didn’t infect in any clinically critical way, is a disgrace to science, an insult to intelligence and a cover for profiteering.
If you can stand to goto zero hedge momentarily, you can watch the exchange in this report. Fauci simply does not get it that if you continue to bullshit in these critical circumstances, you do more to deter vaccination than to encourage it. Fauci is simply a conflicted, one dimensional man on a disaster mission and has been so from day one.

I take it that links to Reuters or Far News are not allowed here. In any case, Reuters is reporting that Iran and China are expected to finally sign their 25-year strategic cooperation deal on Saturday during the ongoing visit of Chinese foreign minister to Tehran.
Excerpt from Reuters article:

“This document is a complete roadmap with strategic political and economic clauses covering trade, economic and transportation cooperation … with a special focus on the private sectors of the two sides,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told state TV.
