The Steph-biden bombshell gave me cold chills but i'll let other barflies who are more informed on Russia/U.S. than I comment.
Meanwhile...
South America
Two sources to bookmark and check, say, once a week on South America
orinocotribune.com/
brasilwire.com/

You can get concise news stories in half a page, also some history if you want it.
I'm repeating myself: Latin America is on fire. Chicago expat Brian Mier of Brazil wire knows a lot about Biden, Trump, Bolsonaro, Lula-- the past 10 years story could be a miniseries that would get beat the Godfather. The latest is Lula's re-emergence together with the Co-vid disaster. Trump and Biden people are both being exposed as they pressured Bolsonaro to stay away from the Russian vaccine. Now the people know about it and they are mad.
https://www.brasilwire.com/fallout-us-suppression-of-russian-vaccine-in-brazil-becomes-diplomatic-incident/
pepe escobar has a piece on Lula's rise with quite a bit of speculation but I think he "gets" Lula, who, IMO, was more compromised and sort of hooked into Obama's version of the empire, tried to find a place as a distant friend but ultimately was stabbed in the back by.... Joe Biden. That was then, before prison. Now, Lula is rising and building huge support among the people AND the military while being careful with Biden as per Pepe. My guess, Lula will win in 2022 unless he is killed.

Ecuador:April 11 is election day. mark your calendars. Arauz looks to be the big winner if the banksters can't organize with the military thugs to take him out. 3 weeks. no news is maybe good news.
Bolivia bombshell: former dictator and white-ish Bolivian beauty queen Jenine añez is in jail and is going to be charged with sedition and murder. The Empire is shocked and frankly so am I. She will get 30 years unless the Seal team 6 springs her which is always possible except Biden is busy and confused. The MAS people are proving to be very strong and are taking the fight to the fascists and consolidating their power: no compromises. Right now they're winning but while the right wing is in disarray, a few are fleeing the country, they are dripping with money and connections, ie, Brazil and U.S. elites. Remember, Nazis populated Santa Cruz, Bolivia thanks to Alan Dulles and his nazi ratline. Unfortunately, many were breeders and they're dug in.

Mercopress: Argentina's Economy Minister Martin Guzmán traveled to New York on Wednesday night to meet investors before heading to Washington for talks with the International Monetary Fund, a government source said.

Guyana Oil Now: Given the resource development model his government intends to roll out, President of Guyana, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, confidently asserted today that Guyana will no doubt emerge as the economic and energy epicentre of the Western Hemisphere. The Head of State made this declaration during his address at the opening of the Guyana Basins Summit, a three-day event that brings together world-renowned experts to examine issues that are pertinent to Guyana and Suriname’s growing oil and gas industries.

Honduras: The origin of the accusation against JOH in his alleged links to drug trafficking became more evident when his brother Antonio Hernández was arrested in Miami, Florida, by DEA agents in November 2018, accused of his links to drug trafficking and for allegedly carrying weapons illegally in US territory. In his trial in the New York court... , he was also convicted as guilty in October 2019. Especially for his links to the so-called “Cachiros” cartel. A criminal organization that originally boasted of being one of the groups that controlled transport routes in “Catracho” territory. This association was also made up of former cattle rustlers and over time monopolized the cocaine route between Colombia and Mexico. It was originally estimated that this group of narco-entrepreneurs held capital that fluctuated in the region of around one billion dollars.

Paraguay: ASUNCIÓN --- The fourth day of protests in Asunción against the government of President Mario Abdo Benitez ended on Monday in clashes in front of the headquarters of the conservative Colorado Party after several hours of peaceful demonstrations near the Congress building. Protesters signaled dissatisfaction with the Cabinet shuffle announced by Abdo Benitez over the weekend and reiterated their demands for the resignation of the entire government and an end to decades of conservative mandates.

"China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and More Join Forces 'in Defense' of U.N."

"China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and other nations have united to issue a message in support of the United Nations' founding treaty, seeking to promote multilateralism and diplomacy over the use of force against perceived violations from other U.N. member states.

The coalition, comprised of 17 signatories calling themselves "the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations," included Algeria, Angola, Belarus, Bolivia, Cambodia, China, Cuba, Eritrea, Iran, Laos, Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Syria, Venezuela and the State of Palestine, a U.N. non-member observer state.

Their March 10 concept note, obtained by Newsweek, said the group "will strive to preserve, promote and defend the prevalence and validity of the UN Charter."

The group said that the charter, first signed during the final months of World War II, today "has a renewed and even more important value and relevance, particularly in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, while providing a platform for, among others, promoting the prevalence of legality over the use of force and for both discussing and coordinating possible joint initiatives for fostering the respect to the purposes and principles enshrined in the UN Charter."
Newsweek subscription offers >

Among these principles are "non-interference in the internal affairs of States, peaceful settlement of disputes, and to refrain from the use or threat of use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any State, as enshrined in the UN Charter."

The group said it will also more broadly defend "the values of dialogue, tolerance and solidarity, mindful of the fact that these are all at the core of international relations and remain vital for the peaceful coexistence among nations."

thank you folks for the update on politics in South America..The political system controls the behaviors of the governed people and hands out feudal gifts (copyright laws and patent laws and government to private transfers by contract) to the private oligarchs who developed and shaped the nation state so that they, the Oligarchs, can use the political system of the nation state to control the political system, The MSM go hand-in-hand with the political system, but instead of directly controlling behavior (like the political system does) the MSM (92% owned by just six private individuals) controls the mind, philosophy, beliefs, religions and culture of those the political system governs. The political system and the MSM are put in place by the Oligarchs to further divide the governed into massive hate against each other with what i call binaries (gun control, private gun ownership; abortion non abortion, democrat vs republican, etc.). But no part of the political system has any real say in how the nation state is run or used by the Oligarch.

The point is that neither political system nor the MSM have anything to do with determining or influencing the direction the nation state takes.. nor can the political system change the behavior of the nation state it just a decoy to the real happenings. Why?

Because the nation state is owned by Oligarchs. Oligarchs and their corporate monopoly powered (copyright and patent, and government contracts) are generally multi national and quite well entrenched in places they do business around the globe. So the Oligarch control the actual use of, and direct of the nation state, and the political system and MSM control and keep in check the governed deplorables. It is that way in nearly all nation state in the world. It is for this reason that i say the nation state system is the barrier that prevents the people of the world to both bring about peace and to have a system of self governance suitable to the lifestyle and interest of the governed.

I communicate with quite a few people in the "arms control community", who almost universally hated Trump. They were ecstatic that Trump was removed from office and saw the reinstatement of the New START treaty as proof that a great danger had passed, that the unpredictable Trump was no longer capable of randomly starting a nuclear war.

I passed on the news stories about Biden's demented comments made in the Stephanopoulus interview, as well as the Russian response, with the recall of the Russian Ambassador and subsequent comments in the Russian press . . .and was met with a deathly silence. Clearly there was a combination of resentment and denial . . . it doesn't fit their narrative so it isn't important.

This is the result of years of propaganda masquerading as "news" here in the West. The "papers of record" have long been mouthpieces for the deep state, there is no longer any effort made to provide anything more than hearsay or fabricated "evidence" in conjunction with the endless demonization of Putin and Russia and all other enemies of the state. Those who have relied upon these sources have accepted so many false narratives that they are effectively brainwashed.

The end result is that these "activists" focus upon such fund-raising-friendly initiatives as "No First Use" of nuclear weapons, while ignoring the fact that the US-Russian relationship has been destroyed by "non-agreement-capable" neocons (both Republican and Democrat) who continue on the insane policy of confrontation with Russia -- and China.

New START or no New START, there is no arms control . . . Russia has far surpassed the US in what Andrea Martyanov describes as the Real Revolution in Military Affairs . . . the US is a couple generations behind in hypersonic weapons, electronic warfare, as well as missile defense systems. US Ballistic Missile Defense cannot intercept non-ballistic missiles, it cannot shoot down a swarm of hypersonic missiles that have made its Carrier Battle Groups obsolete. Only its nuclear subs carry a real threat . . . and the US has been busing arming these with "usable" nuclear weapons as of late. How long before the fools decide to use them?

This is huge. Digital Yuan is crossing national borders - and with it, US soft power and sanctions will collapse. Who needs SWIFT or US Banks or the dollar? Sanctioned nations can get whatever they want from China/Russia - if US sanctions are defeated.

Biden to recognize Palestine as a state? Is the two state fix in.. ? can anyone confirm this.. ?

Posted by: snake | Mar 18 2021 17:05 utc | 22

There's no official Kremlin transcript of Putin's remarks that many news outlets have already published, at least not as of this moment. Medvedev had this to say as TASS reported:

"'I met with incumbent US President Joe Biden at various international events,' Medvedev pointed out. 'He gave the impression of a reasonable person then,' he added. 'However, it seems that time hasn’t been kind to him,' Medvedev said, declining to give further comment. 'I can only quote Freud: ‘Nothing in life is more expensive than illness and stupidity’"

TASS reported Putin's response:

"'As far as statements by my US counterpart are concerned. What would I say to him in response? I would tell him: 'Be healthy!' I wish him good health,' the Russian leader said, adding that he really meant what he was saying without a pinch of irony....

"According to Putin, there are 'quite a few honest, decent and warm-hearted people' in the United States who want to live in peace and friendship with Russia. 'We are aware of that, and we value that, and we will rely on them in the future,' the Russian leader assured.

"'As for the US [political] establishment, the ruling class, its consciousness was shaped in a well-known and rather difficult environment,' Putin noted.

"Moscow will cooperate with Washington only on terms it finds favorable, according to Putin.

"'The US authorities in general seek certain relations with us but only in areas the US interested in, and on their own terms,' the Russian leader pointed out.

"'They think that we are just like them but we aren’t. Our genetic, cultural and moral codes are different. However, we know how to protect our interests,' Putin stressed. 'We will work with them, but only in areas we are interested in and on terms we find favorable,' he added. 'They will have to take it into account, despite attempts to stop our development, sanctions and insults,' the Russian president emphasized." [My Emphasis]

Sputnik provided more of what Putin said, which is why I want to see the entire transcript!!!

"'There have been many difficult, dramatic, and bloody events in the history of each nation. But when we assess other people, when we assess other states, other peoples, we are always looking in the mirror. We always see ourselves there', Putin said.

"According to the president, the American governing class was formed in the age of the conquest of the continent by Europeans, 'which was linked to elimination of the local population, this was direct genocide of Indian tribes'.

"The US and the US leadership, in general, seeks to have certain relations with us, but only in areas that are of their own interest and only on their conditions. Although they think we are the same, we are different people. We have different genetic, cultural, and moral codes... They will have to live with that despite all the attempts to hinder our development. Regardless of sanctions and insults, they will have to live with that."

It's now being announced that Putin will speak with Biden Friday or Monday.

@ Eighthman | Mar 18 2021 16:49 utc | 19 with the link about Digital Yuan, thanks!

Below is a quote from that piece I think sums up the potential

"
The project will act as a cross-border corridor network for big financial institutions. It would entice more central banks to join the network by offering a more competitive foreign exchange rate than the open market, where each country has to buy other local currencies from intermediaries at a premium. It would also allow countries to borrow more other currencies in the short term to increase their liquidity to settle transactions in real time.
"

There is a massive housing bubble being stoked by Fed and government policies. This time the buyers are rich people, who are snatching up properties to rent or to gut reno and flip. In the Boston suburbs, from where I write, home prices have jumped $200-300k in the last year alone. And this is on top of the astronomical rise in home prices here since 2008. For example, three-bedroom condo units in the suburbs are now selling for 1 million! All of this benefits the rich alone, that small segment of the population earning triple digit salaries in IT and biotech in Boston. The Biden stimulus and relief efforts do absolutely nothing to reverse this wealth-effect for the rich based on property ownership. We are still heading towards a deep social crisis.

Putin: Steak, medium rare

Waitress: and for the vegetable?

Putin: the vegetable will have steak as well, and for me 2 beers...by the way, bring me the bill, and what's this going to cost?

Waitress: 20 rubles.

You've got it all practically, there is a phrase that has not been quoted by the different sources mentioned here, a school yard game of words,”he who calls names is naming himself”. And he is quite correct, the insulted party has been the USA since not even the so called “shit hole” countries would use that kind of language. The world as a whole has a lot or reasons to worry, a soft landing is required for the empire of delusion.

What I should have also added to the comment about the Digital Yuan posting was that Saudi Arabia is working with China on this which puts the issue of foreign exchange in the middle of a fiat Reserve Currency world center stage for resolution.

No wonder Biden is trying to start a war with any that will not stand up to the failing bully empire that has no merit to fall back on.

Prof @26--

The Keiser Report devoted the linked episode to that phenomenon, and yes it's bad news for many. Its next report announced the economic news I commented upon yesterday regarding the dollar's lowest ever level of purchasing power and that Fed policy's essential role in the ongoing Class War. I should point out the fact that the word "stimulus" is a misnomer at best, a lie at worst--the latter being reality. Rising home prices only serve to raise the cost of remaining in those houses as property taxes rise. Those advising to refi based on the rise actually damage your balance sheet by taking on more debt since its assumed the cash will be spent. And it's doubtful wages will rise enough to cover the taxation rise, so the entire affair's detrimental to most.

Paco @27--

Thanks for your reply! Did you listen? If so, did Putin sound like he was lamenting, as if to say "we aren't at all surprised by this behavior" since the entire episode must be seen as a whole--Biden and Stephanopoulos together as one projector. The still photos I've seen seem to convey that sort of body language.

The digital yuan news is exciting, and I've yet to look at the write-ups related to the Alaska meet, of which there're several. There's some weird proposal from Germany related to Ukraine, Nord Stream and sanctions I saw at Sputnik but I can't find now. However, there's this article that reports on the interview Zarif gave to Politico wherein Zarif said:

"We are ready to agree to a choreography—that is, the US taking steps, and as soon as we can confirm that those steps have been taken, we can take our steps. And the process of verification for Iran is very clear; the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] will verify that we have complied."

But the JCPOA is only part and the interview is linked.

"I want to invite President Biden to continue our discussion, but on condition that we do it actually live, as they say, online. Without any delay, but right in an open direct discussion," Putin said.

Biden opened himself up to this type of passive aggressive ridicule, really. And I'm definitely here for it. This is great stuff by Putin.

CNN was forced to admit that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ refusal to impose strict lockdown measures and mask mandates is “paying off,” with the state recording fewer COVID-19 deaths per capita while the economy is booming.

Unlike states run by Democrat politicians, DeSantis consistently refused to impose harsh pandemic restrictions and has been pilloried for it by the media for the best part of a year.

However, compared to those states, which have recorded higher COVID deaths and face massive economic turmoil, Florida is in such a better position that even CNN has been forced to acknowledge it.

“A year into the pandemic, Florida is booming and Republican Gov. DeSantis is taking credit,” writes CNN’s Jeff Zeleny.

Dmitry Orlov on the coming hyperinflation that’s going to hit the US

Profligate money printing by the US Federal Reserve and by other Western central banks has amounted to around $10 trillion over just the last year. The amount of currency in circulation has grown to $2 trillion, breaking a record set in 1945 and showing an almost 12% increase over 2019. The US federal budget deficit stands at just about $3.5 trillion, which is over 16% of GDP—the highest it's been since World War II. Meanwhile, the US federal debt has just topped $28 trillion. Over the past year the US has overspent its revenues by a staggering 194%.

Prices are going up everywhere even as the underlying economy remains in coronavirus-inspired doldrums, specifically because consumption has been repressed, with the coronavirus as an excuse, to delay the onset of hyperinflation. And then the Chairman of the Federal Reserve steps in and calms the troubled waters by publicly claiming that "There is no reason to be afraid of hyperinflation." This sounds a lot like denial, which is the first of the five stages of grief, after which come anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Powell said "hyperinflation"; therefore, there shall be hyperinflation.

Pepe Escobar's gem about the Alaska meet. He starts by echoing Crooke's latest in his title and intro, "For Leviathan, it’s so cold in Alaska," and much later links to this op/ed by Chinese scholar Wang Jisi, "How China and the U.S. Can Prevent Further Damage From Their Mutual Distrust," from which Escobar excerpts:

"In my own experiences, I find one difference between the two countries most illuminating. We in China like the idea of 'seeking common ground while reserving our differences.' We state that the common interests between our two countries far exceed our differences. We define common ground by a set of principles like mutual respect and cooperation. Americans, in contrast, tend to focus on hard issues like tensions over Taiwan and the South China Sea. It looks that the Chinese want to set up principles before trying to solve specific problems, but the Americans are eager to deal with problems before they are ready to improve the relationship." [My Emphasis]

The bolded behavior is what one would expect from an entity only interested in giving orders and having them complied with. As such--which should come as no surprise to those who've been its students--the Outlaw US Empire doesn't want to form a relationship with any nation, not even its junior partner and original Outlaw Empire the UK.

Bemildred @35--

The comment by Kapusta @33 is confirmed by this report:

"'I want to invite President Biden to continue our discussion, but on the condition that we do this actually live, as they say, online. Without any delay, but directly in an open, direct discussion. It seems to me that it would be interesting for the people of Russia, for the people of the United States, and for many other countries', Putin said on air on the Rossiya 24 broadcaster."

So, the audience is to be the entire world, which the Empire will never agree to. Meanwhile,

"[Putin] said that Monday was another option to launch the talks, as he intends to take the weekend off to spend some free time in the taiga."

I wonder who will accompany him. Shoigu's known to have joined him in such vacations in the past. As I remarked to my wife last night, all of Biden's public "conversations" have been very well managed/manipulated; and as the cutoff congressional talk shows, he's incapable of properly doing anything that requires spontaneity, which is why Putin requested a live one-to-one meeting. As Norwegian commented, that was an excellent judo move. Now the Empire's backed into a very embarrassing corner it cannot easily exit. The observation made by Jisi also applies to Russia.

Well, Jisi's comment does not apply to Russia in instances when Russia is dealing with China. Even in dealing with the west, Russia had been cordial until the false-flag shenanigans and white-helmet dramas came into play. Can't blame Putin for being pissed can't you?

How Colombia's US-backed narco-regime massacred thousands of innocent people and blamed.

From: Moderate Rebels.

"Ben Norton speaks with Venezuelan journalist Diego Sequera about the far-right government in Colombia, its close links to drug cartels and death squads, Latin America’s anti-imperialist Bolivarian movement, the brutally violent repression of the Colombian left, and the false positives scandal, in which the Colombian military massacred over 6400 innocent people and falsely claimed they were socialist guerrillas."

And here the sequel, VVP starts by saying that the first presidential conversation took place after Biden requested it. Let us discuss openly, on line about strategic security and regional conflicts of which there are many so I won’t enumerate them. At the end answering to the journo’s question, anytime? VVP answers that since he had planned a weekend in the Taigá it could take place either Friday or Monday. But the WH keeps on digging a deeper hole, Psaki says the President is busy and not regretting what was said. What a team, the King is naked does not apply anymore, the king is skinned, packed and frozen, while VVP goes to kill some fish to Siberia. Do not worry, the US will be droning someone in the meantime.

There will be no hyperinflation, probably. Sorry to disappoint the hysterics. Nearly all of the money being "printed" at the moment is going towards increasing the value on paper of existing assets, it is not properly brought into productive circulation.

Unless the money being printed goes to increased consumption, luxury consumption, or real capital investment, aggregate demand will not be significantly affected, and prices of consumer and capital goods do not need to rise to match.

Asset prices are going up, but that will only depress demand, not increase it. A continued long depression is more likely than hyperinflation.

IMO, you're correct about hyperinflation, but even the current 10% inflation rate is too steep. Where I live, transport fuel has increased 50% in less than 3 months while food prices rise at a slower rate. Lots of obfuscation of statistics. IMO, the USA's actual GDP has shrunk over 20% since 2000, which is inline with the dollar's loss of purchasing power--the lessening of which is a genuine Fed Policy Goal. Let that sink in.... The Class War is thus a Fed Policy Goal, which also makes it a policy goal of the Duopoly.

Putin's "weekend in the Taiga" is most certainly addressed to the European heads of state who basically cannot sleep more than a few hours because of the alarming numbers of covid and the failure of their health systems. This is true especially of Belgium and France, where there has been some 'around the clock' announcements in the last few days. Monday, Macron said that "the EU had something very important about AZ to announce the next day and therefore France stopped AZ injections for 24 hours". The next day, the EU said "announcement to come on Thursday but we are really confident in AZ". Then a leak of Macron saying that he cannot accept a full lockdown for Paris or even a weekend one because "the Parisians have a different way of life... some work very late at night and thus they need to go out on the weekend" (i.e. his plethora of civil servants, all based around the ministers in Paris). News about the lockdown were supposed to come at 6 PM today, but were delayed by one hour when the EU said it would make the announcement about AZ at the same time.
Seems that some tit for tat is in the background (as to who gets the camera first).

The problem is that none of these 'we are tough guys' policies achieves any purpose.

They achieve the same purpose that any war or sanctions program achieve - More money to pro-corporate-capitalist think-tanks, NATO cutout journalists like Bellingcat, and of course military/surveillance/subversion contractors to the United States government. They also achieve the greater purpose of perpetual instability or chaos in regions rich in some commodity or natural resource. It's the one part of American globalist-corporatist capitalism where the long game is actually played. They know that eventually these governments are likely to fail in large part due to American sanctions and that the vaults will be blown open for Western private finance. Speaking of, where's Libya's gold? We all know where Venezuela's is.

Sorry, meant to hit preview first. Of course the whole "tough guy" thing is a cottage industry of make-work programs and self-licking ice cream cones. The whole corrupt system exists to expand itself. One wonders what would happen if in fact every country from Venezuela to Cuba to Russia to China to Iran were to fall in line. Probably just more manufactured color revolutions and wars to justify keeping the whole thing going.

George Stephanopoulos posed such excellent leading questions that it is likely he will get a bonus from Integrity Initiative this week. I have sometimes assumed that the persistence of these turds in making fools of themselves would eventually lead to their undoing. Sadly, these days, it seems that they will be celebrities.

They have totally lost their minds and they are now paid as senior journalists. Tragic!

Perhaps Putin should stage an auction for a one hour + time slot that he nominates and that fbook and twit and so on could bid for on the condition that Biden shows up. Then the oligarchs would smell the cash and demand the President front up to serve the contract. To me that seems the only way that Biden would show.

Scotlands Dirty War

Sturgeon has panicked! Under fire, she ran straight to her puppets at Rape Crisis Scotland.

And they have monumentally fucked up.

https://wingsoverscotland.com/the-great-burn/

Along with everything else, there is this:

The statement was in the form of a Microsoft Word document attached to the email and entitled “Response1721.docx”, and the second email left recipients perplexed, because it said this about the file:

“If you have saved it, please destroy the previous version of the word document that you received and use this instead.”

Remind you of anything. All you Iraq War veterans?

My own take:

John Cleary says:

Rev Stu,

Another thought. The parallels with the Blair regime come more and more profound.

Do you recall the Dodgy Dossier?
That document issued in the name of the United Kingdom on the single authority of one Alastair Campbell, and nobody else?

That document was also undermined by the metadata in Microsoft Word. It was pòssible to follow the trail of edits and the plagiarised sources.

All down to Alastair Campbell, using “special powers”, and nothing to do with Prime Minister Blair.

What did Mark Twain opine?

“History never repeats; but it does rhyme”

And would you believe it. Just this evening the BBC broadcast a "documentary" on Sturgeon v Salmond.

The usual from "MI6 Sarah Smith"s outfit

Salmond was lucky he got away with it.
Nicola is a lovely wee sweetie.

And guess who was praising "Our Nicola"? None other than Alastair Campbell!!!

Honestly, it's laughable.

And my earlier comment on the same thread:

However, special advisers should not be involved in the line management of civil servants or in matters affecting a civil servant’s career such as recruitment, promotion, reward and discipline, or have access to personnel files of civil servants.

Hello Roddy,

We are being lied to again.
During the Blair regime three spads were given powers to instruct and direct civil servants. They were Alastair Campbell, Jonathan Powell and Sally Morgan.

Only Queen Elizabeth can vest such powers.

I’m pretty sure that Queen Elizabeth is once again interfering in matters of government, and that she has in fact vested such powers in Liz Lloyd. That, in my view, is the real reason for the paranoia about mentioning her name. It exposes Queen Elizabeth as once more, for the thousandth time, breaching her Coronation Oath.

Covid 19 denying President of Tanzania dead here is something to be investigated..

Did private Oligarch and Corporate power somehow deny the government of Tanzania because its leader was a Covid 19 denier.. ? If so, it adds some credence to the theory that the political system in each nation state is nothing but a decoy' which allows the Oligarchs and their corporate arms to watch from their hide outs and change the political system, change the leadership, or change by propaganda the circumstances so the outcome of all political system activities continues a hidden private profit purpose.

Who is in charge in the nation state named Tanzania: the political system or Private Oligarch?

In the US, state legislatures are gearing up to be in session and I am happy to report that Oregon has public banking legislation that has been introduced this year to set up a state bank. The legislative summary is as follows:
"
Relating to establishment of a public bank.
Catchline/Summary: Establishes Bank of the State of Oregon. Specifies purposes of bank. Establishes Bank of the State of Oregon Board to operate and manage bank. Creates advisory board of directors to advise bank board and management on operation of bank. Requires bank to accept deposits of public funds and permits bank to accept deposits of other funds. Permits bank to make, purchase, guarantee or hold certain loans and to serve as custodian bank. Specifies other powers. Directs State Treasurer to deposit moneys in bank in amount treasurer determines is necessary to allow bank to fulfill duties. Requires Bank of the State of Oregon Board to determine and reserve amount of revenue necessary to continue bank operations in safe and sound manner and to credit remaining revenue to use for general governmental operations. Directs board to adopt rules to ensure safety and soundness of bank, describe permissible investments, bank services, loan limits and reserve requirements. Requires Secretary of State audit. Specifies that deposits of bank are guaranteed by state and that income bank earns on public funds is not subject to taxation. Specifies that certain bank records are confidential and not subject to disclosure. Becomes operative January 1, 2023.
"

In support of my state's public banking initiative I am having a few I SUPPORT PUBLIC BANKING yard signs made that also have the link to the Public Banking Institute on them. I encourage other MoA barflies to go the PBI web site and find out if your state is doing anything about public banking. If they are, please contact your state legislators and express your support....getting yard signs made is fairly cheap also..$20/ea in qty of 10 or more....

Support the change you want to see happen.

I had this flash about the China/US talks in Alaska and see China saying, until your administration provides us with the same assurance that previous US administrations have been doing since Nixon, we have no basis to hold further discussions

Makes sense to me....what really happened today in Alaska?

Posted by: psychohistorian | Mar 19 2021 16:40 utc | 77

psychohistorian @77--

Most reporting on that confab relates to yesterday's action. Global Times has several articles and op/eds. This is the first one I read that reports on the preliminaries. This was yesterday's editorial, the last two graphs IMO being most important:

"Sixth, the Chinese are confident that they are capable of defending their own national security, and no matter how hard the US tries, it cannot contain China. If the US is willing to coexist and cooperate with China in peace, China welcomes that and will work hard to make that relationship work. If the US is determined to engage in confrontation, China will fight to the end.

"It is noted that the new US administration has put great efforts in its China policy. It has held a series of preparatory meetings with its allies and sent a lot of tough signals in an attempt to create a preemptive effect. However, major-country relations are not built on such swashbuckling tricks. The match of national strength and public will is the most important thing when major countries try to get along with each other. It is important to point out that the US has seriously overestimated the matching degree between its national power and its strategic fantasy of containing China." [My Emphasis]

The opening two paragraphs from this article provides China's "spin":

"The China-US high-level strategic dialogue in Anchorage, Alaska started intensely due to the US behavior without hospitality and diplomatic etiquette, and China’s chief diplomats’ tough response that impressed observers worldwide shows that China is not there to compromise on key issues and hear lectures, but to point out the US problems face-to-face and find solutions with sincerity.

"Although the opening was tough, the world can still expect some progress from the two days of difficult dialogue. When speaking in front of the media, US officials would like to show off their toughness to cover their anxiety as they know the US is declining and they don’t want to show what they really want from China, so in the following meetings without media presence, the two sides will be able to have more productive and constructive conversation, analysts said."

Better results off camera? I'm not so sure about that. this last item looks at the talks from the businessman's POV and is somewhat more optimistic. But these are only from one English language Chinese media outlet, although it is the semi-official voice of China's government. Other sources ought to be looked at, and then there's BigLie media's spin to consider.

Interesting report on Iran's various diplomatic positions generated by an interview with Saeed Khatibzadeh, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman. I found this the most curious part:

"[T]he [Biden] administration has not taken any steps to punish those responsible for the murder of top Iranian commander Qasem Suleimani, who [was] assassinated in January 2020 in Iraq.

"This is the reason Iran is taking matters into its own hands, says the top diplomat.

"'The Iranian courts have carefully considered both the civil and criminal aspects of the case. Verdicts will be handed down very soon and we will announce the names of all the criminals and those involved whom, according to international law, it will be easier for Iran to prosecute.'"

It's curious because it puts forth the assumption that the Outlaw US Empire would enforce the law on those responsible for the murders. Going through the legal motions to formally place an international arrest warrant out for Trump and his accomplices would constitute yet another slap, and is an action that's long overdue. Lawfare can be used by others it seems. The point IMO is to prove beyond doubt to the world that the USA is indeed an Outlaw of vast criminal proportions that must be disciplined.

Yesterday the Afghan talks resumed in Moscow and a Joint Statement was issued by the participants, although it's very difficult to judge from it if any genuine progress was made. The Press Release issued by Russia's MFA doesn't provide much additional info:

"The participants discussed various aspects of the peaceful settlement process in Afghanistan. The representatives of the extended Troika urged the parties to the Afghanistan conflict to reach constructive solutions in order to end the civil war as soon as possible through agreements on the formation of an inclusive government with the participation of the Taliban movement."

Talks continue at Doha. But what's been recently published aims at providing grounds for Biden to renege on Trump's decision to withdrawal troops, which is a basic Taliban demand/negotiating point.

james | Mar 19 2021 4:54 utc | 74

Thank you. You go on to say

didn't know much about liz lloyd prior to you mentioning here

Not surprised at all.

There is a cast of characters in what is Iraq Invasion redux. Amongst them are:

Nicola Sturgeon is Tony Blair with tits
Liz Lloyd is Alastair Campbell with tits
Sarah Smith is Comical Ali with tits

For the Iraq Invasion it was Alastair Campbell who was the prime mover. For the Salmond assassination it is Liz Lloyd who is the prime mover. Here is some of her involvement. In January or February 2018 she was involved in the coralling of fresh meat into the Scot Gov complaints "procedure". In March 2018 she lured Alex Salmond back into the web using Geoff Aberdein. On April 2 2018 she sprung the trap and sought, with Nicola Sturgeon, to blackmail Alex Salmond. When he resisted, and appeared to win the judicial review, Liz Lloyd recruited and suborned five other women to make claims for the criminal trial of Alex Salmond. Then Ms Lloyd made an accusation herself, became an alpha Betty, and was rewarded with lifetime anonimity (she is Ms A in the criminal pleadings).

Now here is the kicker.

Liz Lloyd has not appeared before the Fabiani committee!

Now it just might be that SOMEBODY is protecting Ms Lloyd.
I know who is that somebody. But I don't want to upset people by naming her.

Just ponder this.

The Fabiani Committee has been told that it is unlawful to call Liz Lloyd to answer for her actions in the attempted gang rape of Alex Salmond. She was there, she dunnit and she's as guilty as hell. But she cannot be interrogated because Queen Elizabeth, using the powers she has assumed under the Treason Felony Act, says no.

That's the same old woman who swore, nearly sixty-nine years ago, to uphold the law.

She annoints her accolytes, arms them with special powers, and sends them forth to do their evil. They are ghosts, leaving no fingerprints. Afterwards, when looking back, it seems they never existed at all. Honest civil servants are left scrambling trying to explain what happened, and why though they look guilty, it is not their fault.

Meanwhile Queen Elizabeth, in the words of Karl Rove, moves on to create another nightmare reality for us to study - judiciously.

Posted by: John Cleary | Mar 19 2021 18:27 utc | 83

@ john cleary.... your narrative is fascinating.... if it is true, and i am sure a lot of it - if not all of it - is) then it is quite disturbing too... i find the whole dynamic with regard to scotland independence quite fascinating.. my thinking is a lot is going to die when queen elizabeth dies.. until then, it will probably be the same... afterwards it is harder to predict... she will be 95 time april... she could continue on for another 5 -10 years max is my guess... now i don't know the thinking in the uk, but one would think they would've had enough of this royalty bullshit by now, but maybe not... it is certainly good cover for a lot of dirty deeds done, not to mention that she seems to be holding a lot of cards and in a position of power that no one in power - excepting oprah of course - wants to challenge.. thanks for the update..

Sorry to be a spoilsport but Donbas hasn't gone away. Where they are still playing cat and mouse.

There are now 18 NATO ships in the Med.
Ticonderoga (Major Missile cruiser) passed Istanbul today to get into the Black Sea.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qN4qUAUjbcs
The six Russian submarine have put to sea and one kilo class (ultra silent) has been "lost" by US spy planes off Syria/Lebanon. Planes circling offshore.

At least 200 hundred tanks have been moved to the front by the Ukes since the 1st March. (7+ train loads). Lots of Turkish drones have been supplied. A big build-up. The Uke army is much more capable than before, but then they will come up against the Russian forces. So the "West" must be egging them on. The US is to give them $300 million more worth of "lethal" aid.
Regular shelling of Donbas civilians at the moment.

Much more, but the real question is, why now?
OK it is the 10th. "Anniversary" of NATO bombing Libyia.
The US and UK are trying to start a civil war in Lebanon. They have also blocked an overland supply of Iranian Oil to Lenbanon.
Conference with afghanistan reps. in Moscow.
***

This must have a connection with keeping "Biden incapable but active" (Biba). If the US wants world domination and all the nasty side effects of the loss of the dollar supremacy to go away, then one way is "world-wide regime change". Cause chaos or war and then propose a puppet as new overall alternative. NOT only for the US but to include the EU and UK. All those countries need to eliminate the post-lockdown reaction against how far reaching the Covid scam was. (Theft on a massive scale) Introduce Non-national, Crypto-Banking, an authoritarian sect, and "Policed" against any type of dissent plus all the other controls about opening commerces, voyaging, etc.etc.

Any guesses?
***

PS. John. Cleary, the Queen doesn't make it as too old ! Although I think your placing the resposibility for many actions on her is incorrect. More likely is the FCO and various "trilateral commisssions", Bilderbergers and other societies have grouped themselves with selected Oligarchs.
The basis of a Fascist state.

But who would be the nominative symbol after her?

Posted by: Stonebird | Mar 19 2021 20:25 utc | 87

@87 Stonebird

It occurs to me that with so much ruckus raised all across the world, this makes it easier for the US military to take a hit somewhere. If it takes a hit in theater A, and ramps up its Wurlitzer to full-on outrage, then all it would take would be another hit in theater B, to throw all into confusion - which Mao would call an excellent state of affairs.

It seems at least possible that Russia and China are hardening their rhetoric into categorical stances that eventually the US must either accord with or make a military move against, in sheer frustration from not being able to match the words of the adversaries - call it the tantrum effect. They are facing down the bully, and walking him back, willing to enter the realm of chance where the bully may stop walking back - at which point he has to take a punch or throw one. My money's on taking one.

There must be a small defeat, where the US has to withdraw. This in turn may lead to more defeats, and more retrenchments. But spread across several theaters, this mass doesn't accumulate to become one target, one nuke target.

The generals get their asses stung, and they know who by, but they can't respond. Because they don't have the muscle or the heights in the small fields, and they don't have the moral target in the great field.

That's one scenario, anyway. Speculation.

Eva Bartlett on Canadian COVID policy
https://www.rt.com/op-ed/518596-canada-draconian-covid-restrictions/

"In March, nurse Jessica Faraone made headlines for doing just that and walking out of Toronto's Pearson airport instead of subjecting herself to a costly $2,000-plus quarantine hotel stay.

In a later interview, Faraone said a border guard had attempted to intimidate and shut her up, but she knew her rights. She added: “I have worked in the hospitals and more than ever I’m seeing suicide, depression, strokes, heart attacks, addiction issues. Masking people and children, oppressing health-care workers’ opinions that go against the grain, socially isolating people, and instilling fear into Canadians… is not how we solve this problem.”"
...

"Noting the widespread censorship of any dissenting voices on issues Covid, (Professionals Against Lockdowns) statement reads: “It is our professional duty to protect the public, our communities, and our children. We will advocate for what is right and speak up against harm. Together, we will continue to be the voice for the voiceless to ensure that the truth about these lockdowns is heard.

“The government's response has lacked a risk variant analysis on all our populations. We are seeing the harm being done first-hand. We know lockdowns, isolation of healthy individuals, and the violation of our rights are causing more harm than good.”"
...

"We are told to follow the science (and not question it), but as more people ask exactly what science it is that we're following, it is encouraging to see these coalitions of doctors and other experts together addressing the absurdities and dangers of lockdowns and related Covid measures.

Their combined knowledge is based on science, and I'm much more comfortable following their advice, rather than that which has ruined lives over the past year, and promises to damage more.

What of the science of Toronto's Medical Officer of Health? Might her husband's vested financial interests in Pfizer and AstraZeneca impact some of her decisions?"

Ah! vested corruption of health advisors. What a surprise?

Scotland's Dirty War

She annoints her accolytes, arms them with special powers, and sends them forth to do their evil. They are ghosts, leaving no fingerprints. Afterwards, when looking back, it seems they never existed at all. Honest civil servants are left scrambling trying to explain what happened, and why though they look guilty, it is not their fault.

Meanwhile Queen Elizabeth, in the words of Karl Rove, moves on to create another nightmare reality for us to study - judiciously.

Exceptional claims require exceptional proof, I hear you say, and I agree.

I was taught under the case study system, so allow me to put forward a case study of my own, on how Queen Elizabeth destroyed the Labour Party. This study is intended to provide evidence by association for the guilt of that woman, and also to act as fair warning to the Scots as to what you can expect if you do not throw off the Windsor yoke.

Rochdale grooming: 'Shocking' failure over sex abuse
Published20 December 2013

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-manchester-25450512

The whole thing is eye-popping and needs to be read, but I'd like to focus on this:

A serious case review by the Rochdale Safeguarding Children Board highlighted failures by 17 agencies who were meant to protect the children.

Across the board failures by SEVENTEEN agencies.
That does not happen by chance. That happens because it is caused to happen.
By a team of little Liz Lloyds, all armed with royal prerogative powers, spreading evil on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.

That's the first hallmark of her intervention: widespread, inexplicable failure.

Here is the second hallmark of her intervention. And can I just say, all of you advocating a "Judge-led inquiry" as the solution to Scotland's malaise should pay special attention.

That report was from 2013.

Here is the situation in 2016:

The inquiry into child sexual abuse will continue "without delay" the Home Secretary Amber Rudd has said, following the resignation of its chair Dame Lowell Goddard.

Justice Goddard became the third chair of the inquiry to resign after controversy over holidays and comments she made about not understanding English law.

The New Zealand high court judge was appointed as chair of the inquiry by then-Home Secretary Theresa May after the two previous charis were forced to stand down over their links to establishment figures.

Sabotage. Three leaders in three years. No progress at all.
Then everybody "moves on".

That's the second hallmark. Systematic failure of the inquiry process.

Now consider this:

At least 1,400 children were subjected to appalling sexual exploitation in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013, a report has found.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-28939089

First, I paraphrase our old friend Joe Stalin:

"A hair ping to a civil servant is a tragedy, but the appalling sexual exploitation of at least 1400 children is a statistic."

But I emphasise the dates. "between 1997 and 2013".

Blair's gang started this shit as soon as they got into power. Literally, as soon as they got into power.

There is another case that history rhymes here.

Do you remember Gordon Jackson QC, the man who defended Alex Salmond against the criminal charges, and who was recorded making disparaging comments about his client on the train home to Glasgow? You could say that Jackson was smearing his own client.

Well, this child sex abuse took place in Rotherham.
Home of Mrs Gillian Duffy. Salt of the earth Labour activist.
Famously called "that bigoted woman" by Gordon Brown. Who was "accidentally recorded" when saying those words.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtUeLic0asQ

Really, can it be any surprise that the so called Red Wall fell to Boris Johnson in 2019?
Was it really by chance that the Labour Party coalition was rent asunder?
Can it be any surprise that so many honest working class people vowed they would never again vote for Labour?

Just as so many honest working class Scots are saying the same thing today about the Scottish National Party?

Job done for Queen Elizabeth, I'd say.

A "Tantrum" fits the bill perfectly. "Just listen to me, - It's my party and I'll cry if I want to".

It is almost as if the "rest of the world", is just sitting back and letting the US try to find someone, anyone, who they can bully and tell what to do. While it falls down all by itself.

(A) Donbas, depends on NATO and EU ships and troops to threaten. Will they or won't they? I was certain, but I am now less so, even though the build-up continues. The Russian reply is one of taking visible precautions plus .... a charm offensive, proposing visits to Crimea for tourists.
(B) NK, military manoeuvres at planting or harvesting time, been there, done that (Ties up NK troops and causes food shortages.). Kim is no longer listening to the US.
(C) Syria. The Syrians estimate that so far the US has stolen $92 billion of Oil. Advances (slowly but surely) continue against Turkish proxies, and terrorists originating from the Al Tanf area.
(D) Iraq. US troops leave regularly for Syrian soil, get shot at and try to get round the order to leave.
(E) Iran. Poker, "see you, I have a full hand of missiles and other goodies, what have you got?"
(F) China. The US has shot up muslims wherever they are, (Iraq, Syria etc.) and now says it has "Muslim" welfare in their hearts.

At one time the US considered military expenditure as an useful export. Military force as a "normal" paranoic reaction. (With us or against us - Bush). Sanctions as a way of getting parts of the market for the exclusive use of the US.
Over time the Military-industrial has changed to where the main target for them are the US "Government" and massive budgetary "advances". The US has become the main source of riches. So NATO was brought in to increase the profit margins. 2% of all the Revenues of the western world can't be bad for billionaire wallets. More sure than financial speculation, although that has it's adepts.

Back to your post. Make a false move in (A) and the Generals loose out on the money making part and have to ...... fight? OK, send in the cannon fodder.
Not what was desired when the object is to bomb those that cannot fire back. mmmm? Yemen? Afghannistan? Palestinians? Syria? "Even they have started to fire back. I think I am going to have a tantrum".

It may need something to put into their thick heads that there is a limit. Small defeat? What is necessary is that they (the generals) make a visble blunder that doesn't cost too many lives.

There are now 18 NATO ships in the Med.

How many are usually in the med?

=
... but the real question is, why now?

A last-ditch effort to stop Nord Stream II.

!!

I think the report is about major ships. ie, there are three carriers and their groups. (US , Charles de Gaulle, and the Italian one). I presume that there are many more other types of surface ships available. Size would be important. (Ticonderoga is one of the biggest cruisers available to the US). The Three US destroyers, incl the Donald Cook, the Porter, and the Laramie have left the Black Sea and would still be in the Med.

NSII? Most things these days seem to be last ditch efforts. One could even be that "something has to happen" before Biden falls down flat and doesn't get up again. KamH is not popular and if she declared WWIII "open" it is not sure that the Pentagon would like it. But, KH is very close to Israel and their own ambitions. Better to have a war start under Biden - who could then be blamed.

@ Jackrabbit

Little addition about the Black sea buildup. ("Ticonderoga" is a class of ships, see below Monterey).

I have been reading back through a number of these threads, and apologies if this has already been linked, but in going to one of the suggestions from emersonreturns, I found the following news item, which I hadn't yet seen.
