Hunter Biden's Story Could Help Hillary Clinton To Become Vice President

The recently revealed business deals of Hunter Biden will strongly influence politics after an eventual Joe Biden win in tomorrows election.

On October 15 the New York Post published a story on Hunter Biden based on data from a laptop Joe Biden's son had left with a repair shop. The Biden family has not disputed that the laptop or the data on it is genuine. Next to the porn on the laptop there were thousand of emails which describe shady deals with a (now defunct) large Chinese energy company, CEFC.

Twitter, Facebook and other media like the Intercept tried to prevent the distribution of the story. They falsely claimed that the information was 'hacked' or unproven. The censorship inevitably made the story more prominent and increased the number of people who learned of it.

A week after the NY Post story ran Tony Bobulinski, a former business partner of Hunter Biden, went public with further allegations against him:

Tony Bobulinski, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, said Wednesday night that he can confirm details regarding his overseas business dealings, including that a reference to a “Big Guy” in a May 13, 2017 email did, in fact, refer to Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

In a lengthy statement, Bobulinski identified himself as the CEO of Sinohawk Holdings, a firm he described as “a partnership between the Chinese operating through CEFC/Chairman Ye and the Biden family.” He added that Hunter Biden and James Gilliar, another business associate, brought him on as CEO of the venture.

“Hunter Biden called his dad ‘the Big Guy’ or ‘my Chairman,’ and frequently referenced asking him for his sign-off or advice on various potential deals that we were discussing,” Bobulinski said. “I’ve seen Vice President Biden saying he never talked to Hunter about his business. I’ve seen firsthand that that’s not true, because it wasn’t just Hunter’s business, they said they were putting the Biden family name and its legacy on the line.”

A number of outlets have each carried various snippets of the whole story of Hunter Biden's very profitable dealings with foreign companies. That has created a confusing picture. Stephen McIntyre, who has done useful investigative research on climate change, Russiagate, and the OPCW shenanigans in Syria, has thankfully created a 19 pages long timeline with all the Biden-China evidence that has so far seen the daylight. He writes:

The Biden family was involved in two major Chinese deals:
  • a carried stake in Bohai Harvest Partners Investment Fund. Their interest in this deal began in 2013. Hunter Biden, Devon Archer and James Bulger each had 10% interests. This fund is still active. Bobulinski was not involved in this deal.
  • a second deal initiated in 2017 in which the Bidens received $5 million from Chinese energy company CEFC and/or its officers. CEFC had, in a short period, become a huge company and, even more quickly, disintegrated. This second deal was the one involving Patrick Ho, who was arrested in Nov 2017 in US for corruption, Gongwen Dong and its chairman Ye Jianming, who was arrested in China and/or disappeared in March 2018.
Nearly all of the interesting texts and emails from 2017 and Bobulinski’s information are limited to this second deal. These were only a small fraction of sleazy transactions by Hunter Biden, Devon Archer and associates. Concurrent with this affair were transactions in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia as well as participation in major frauds by John Galanis and Jason Sugarman in which Archer (but not so far, Hunter Biden) have been convicted. The texts and emails have been released in a piecemeal and disorganized way. In this article, I’ll attempt to re-assemble a narrative of events for the CEFC affair.

Another timeline of the Hunter Biden affairs with slightly different material has been collected by Seamus Bruner and John Solomon. They write:

The New York Post broke news last week that Joe Biden himself may have benefited from his son’s dealings. The Post quoted a cryptic message from one of Hunter’s partners, saying that “10 [percent] held by H for the big guy?” The recipient of that message, Tony Bobulinski, says “there is no question” that “H” stands for Hunter and the “big guy” is Joe Biden.

We gain further insight into the operations of Biden Inc. in emails provided to us by Bevan Cooney, a former business associate of Hunter Biden. Cooney, who is currently in prison for his role in the Indian Bond Scheme that is sending Hunter Biden business partner Devon Archer also to jail, shared 26,000 emails that show what Hunter’s role was in their business ventures. The Biden name was considered “currency” for their foreign business ventures, and was a “direct … pipeline” to the Obama-Biden administration. Deals involving Hunter benefited from the “Biden lift,” the help that the name would provide in overseas dealings.

What might the Bidens’ foreign benefactors have expected in return for all this largesse? We can’t say. But some may see a correlation between that foreign money and Joe Biden’s policy posture toward the sources of that money.

Stephen McIntyre has promised to update his timeline with the material revealed by the other authors. As McIntyre is always diligent in his work his timeline can be taken as an authoritative source.

While I am still digging through the above collections here my first thoughts on why these matter.

The facts show that Hunter Biden and other traded on and profited from Joe Biden's position by selling his 'influence' to foreign companies. It is likely that Joe Biden at least indirectly also profited from that work.

The evidence is not rumored Russiagate material like the shoddy Steele dossier but real stuff which has legal consequences:

A federal judge named Joe Biden as a possible “witness” along with his son Hunter in a criminal fraud case last year that ended in the convictions of two of Hunter’s business partners, according to little-noticed court documents. The Democratic presidential candidate’s appearance on a witness list casts new doubt on his claims he knew nothing about his son’s shady business dealings.

As revenge for Russiagate the Republicans will use the affair to their utmost advantage.

There are only two ways for Joe Biden to prevent Republicans and independent media from further digging into the affair and all the potentially illegal issues it reveals.

  • If Joe Biden loses the election the scandal will likely vanish as soon as he retreats from the public view.
  • If Joe Biden wins the election the scandal will fester until he resigns.

The second case is especially interesting. Vice President candidate Kamala Harris has been groomed by Hillary Clinton's inner circle since 2017:

The Democrats’ “Great Freshman Hope,” Sen. Kamala Harris, is heading to the Hamptons to meet with Hillary Clinton’s biggest backers.

The California senator is being fêted in Bridgehampton on Saturday at the home of MWWPR guru Michael Kempner, a staunch Clinton supporter who was one of her national-finance co-chairs and a led fund-raiser for her 2008 bid for the presidency. He was also listed as one of the top “bundlers” for Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, having raised $3 million.

Clinton's recent Foreign Affairs piece, A National Security Reckoning - How Washington Should Think About Power, must be seen as a job application for a high position in a Harris (Biden) administration. Removing Joe Biden soon after he has won may well be in Clinton's interest.

Should the somewhat demented Joe Biden leave 'for health reasons' soon after he has been sworn into office Kamala Harris would become President. She then could use the 25th Amendment to select Hillary Clinton as the new Vice President.

If, after a Biden win in the election, Hillary Clinton supporters in the liberul media stop censoring the Hunter Biden affair or even start to further expose it we can be sure that such a scheme is on the verge of being implemented.

In Re Trump/Biden

Trump has been a failure as president. He fulfilled none of his campaign promises to the disaffected working class he courted. Though I am sure at least one of his defenders here will correct me and bring up a promise fulfilled. He has gifted the Republican side of the swamp with the usual republican perks: roll back regulations on business: environmental, worker protections, anticompetitiveness etc, give a major tax break to the wealthy, increase the defense budget and pack the court system with conservative judges. On the coronavirus he has failed completely no matter which side of the divide (hoax or emergency) you fall. For the hoaxers, where was his forceful leadership toward the Swedish model or the "economy is more important that losing 1% of the population" argument; for the emergency people he did nothing to lead on or implement mitigation and management strategies.
He is a failure undeserving of reelection.
Biden is a career hack politician with all the corruption and service to the oligarchs that entails. He never saw a war he did not vote to fund, he supported the Patriot Act and the expansion of the intelligence sector, he shepherded the bankruptcy reform act through congress that was a huge gift to his corporate masters in Delaware and a disaster for citizens needing bankruptcy protection for any reason. He does not really deserve to be elected either. However, the cold comfort of a Biden presidency to residents of the USA is that, as a democrat, he could be expected to roll back the Trump destruction of environmental regulations, refund and restaff the EPA, reengage with international treaties on such things as fisheries, resource extraction, pollution, etc. Cold comfort but at least a tiny bit of it.

As for the folks suggesting that Kamala Harris would either step aside as president, if and when Biden is pushed out, or that she would be ruled from behind the scenes by Hillary Clinton, they do not know the individual at all.
Kamala Harris got her political start when in the DA's office in San Francisco she began "dating" the mayor Willie Brown who was perhaps the most powerful Democratic politician in California. He connected her with the democratic machine and major donors who financed and ran her successful campaign for District Attorney in SF. The same political machine backed her when she ran for state Attorney General and won. While in office she moved from her center-left San Francisco positions to the sort of center-right, slightly law and order stance that saw her reelected to a second term in that office. She then won the state primary for the "rotten" (in the British political sense of the word) senate seat of the retiring Barbara Boxer and won the general election in a cake walk. While in the senate she has supported the sort of lefty virtue signalling policies that never had a chance of passage in a Republican controlled senate and thus shows up on the ticket with the support of the center left without the actual left wing political baggage that would work against her. She is smart, ambitious and has just enough of the politically requisite sociopathy to be very successful at that career. The thought that she would either step aside from the presidency or be a tool of a twice failed candidate for president is ludicrous. She knows quite well that Hillary is on the downhill side of her influence and is handy to have around but does not need to be kowtowed to.
On the other hand, if Donald wins this is all moot.
I personally wrote in Tulsi as she was the only candidate in this cycle who was even faintly anti-war. I used to vote Green but you can only vote for a party that doesn't seem to know what it is actually attempting to do for so long

Seriously b, I get that the Qanon rewaderhip has ticked up for the elections, but this crap is Clinton Derangement Syndrome. Everyone's hated mascot loses the easiest possible election, writes an unhinged whine book about it, and disappers from publicity. Yet that she disappears from publicity is EVIDENCE she is BEHIND IT ALL and will become PRESIDENT thanks to the LIBERAL DEEP STATE ... gimme a break. The Corporate State has already generated a new generation of ciphers, and obviously doesn't have to place the washout with the loser's stink in the front. UNLESS she is the DARK RULER of the CABAL sitting on the THRONE OF MOLOCH ... or it's the GOP campaign being desperate to spin attention away from the present facts.

Given the current condition of the Outlaw US Empire and state of the world, I'll ask the question I asked before several months ago: Does it really matter which unqualified goon/witch/zombie becomes POTUS?

One year ago I would have said it doesn't matter, the US aggression towards the rest of the world, including small "allied" countries such as mine will not change one bit. Then, with the assassination of Soleimani, Trump succeeded in proving that he too is a criminal, for those in doubt. That was before the demented Biden was pushed forward.

However, the question is specifically referring to the current condition. In my opinion the covid hysteria is a crime that must be stopped, it is schemed to make ordinary people poor slaves and subject to extreme authoritarian rule. Biden does not have a political program besides more masks. He is a tool, and as this article indicates if he wins he is likely to be dumped at the first opportunity, making Harris the Clinton-puppet president and somehow Hillary Clinton will be in control to implement the authoritarian nightmare.

Unfortunately, there are only 2 choices and both of them smell bad. But looking at it from outside there is one important difference: The covid hysteria. With Trump elected I hope it will stop. We can then deal with his other faults afterwards, and watch the empire crumble.

This Biden to Harris to HRC seems much more like a plot for a fantasy/spy novel.
Posted by: c1ue | Nov 2 2020 21:29 utc | 26

Correction, it is far too bad and implausible as a plot for a fantasy/spy novel. Ergo, most surely true. Fact is stranger than fiction.

Another correction: it is not true Killery wants to be vice president. No way would she accept being #2, she wants to be #1 and only #1. She will find a way, if she can get a Biden election win somehow - pushing out Biden as senile will be very easy, next stip is Kamala. Without doubt she will have dirt on Kamala, maybe she will create a scandal, then create violant protests on the streets to force Kamala to resign, or whatever. ir if that fails Kamala will be promptly off'd.

As to the so-called "election":

One group that is not involved at all in the outcome is the voters. It is not the job of the voters to chose the election result (not even the "popular vote"), that is the job of the vote riggers not the voters, and it is clear the dems have massive vote-rigging strutures put in place. Unless this is foiled (which it might be), the vote riggers will give Biden a "decisive win" on the alleged popular vote, and I imagine they would probably be able to get control of the electoral college.

I wouldn't accept for even one nanosecond that they could field a majority of real voters' choices though, but that's just my gut feeling. Voters are irrelevant in the US.

In the last election Trump had the military behind him. It was said that the military called the Clinton campaign during the election evening, saying that they were remotely watching the Clinton team fabricating the vote on a massive scale, and that it had to stop immediately otherwise they would do the "unthinkable" (i.e. a military coup). Meanwhile they were loading trains with large numbers of troops juat a few hours away from DC as backup for that threat. Pure unsubstantiated chatter - nevertheless it has a true ring to it as it fitted quite well with observable phenomena. What is the military position now vis a vis Trump/Biden/Kamala/Clinton? I have no idea, very opaque; nevertheless they unquestionably have some knowledge of Clinton's schemes. Maybe they might act against Biden if they see Clinton planning to set herself up as president.

Implications of Biden as president?

Irrespective of how long Biden remains in office, and whether he is replaed by Kamala and/or Killery, the guaranteed most devastating result would be that Biden/Kamala/Clinton would rebuild the bridges with the empire's longstanding vassels that Trump has so helpfully disrupted and disarrayed. That means a guaranteed rapid escalation of the global technocrat police state, with the covid-19 operation as primary resource fuelling change. (It will also escalate under Trump, but there will in that case be massive hindrances in cooperation caused by disunity among vassels and desire to go a separate way).

Posted by: karlof1 | Nov 3 2020 1:10 utc | 75 Thanks, a good article.

From Alastair Crooke article why is Europe courting Revolution?
"Germany is angling for ‘superpower’ status, atop an EU ‘empire’ for the new era. Putin recognised such a possibility (Germany aspiring to be a superpower) during his recent speech to Valdai."

Perhaps these lines from Brecht may have been in the back of Putin's mind. They certainly came to my mind after reading Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer’s speech and this snippet form am interview "We are well-fortified, and in case of doubt, ready to defend ourselves." Well not from what I hear. How many tank armies do you have Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer? Just because you spend a few billion more on defense than Russia doesn't mean squat.

Do not rejoice in his defeat you men.
For though the bastard is dead,
the bitch that bore him is again in heat. Brecht

So after Merkle puts on the crown Germany can set up 25 or so Reichskommissariat's through the EU. Well, they do have experience in this sort of thing. Germany finally, will formally get some colonies. But the NSA would still listen into her phone. Even after she retires. Just for shits and giggles. The Navalny episode was indeed a bold face lie. That was the straw that broke the diplomat's back. You can't argue with idiots.

I'm sure the animals in the EU that are a little less equal than the German pigs (banks) will love that German empire thingy. Could they flock to Rothchild banker Macron as a saviour? Hah! Another poisoned chalice. Does Germany build a virtual wall at the eastern frontier of its conquest to stop those foreign substances being introduced into their precious bodily fluids? How does one stop all those trains traveling from China now to Europe? How does one rewind this without more pain?

Brussels plan for a ‘Great Reset is bound to work like Hillary's reset, (not) especially after the US economy starts to implode, which I think is very close to happening. They will be looking east in that event cap in hand. Crow could be on their menu I think.

Posted by: Jackrabbit | Nov 3 2020 4:11 utc | 92 Except that it's essentially the same theory.

No, no. You don't get to do some sleight of hand to make it look like whatever happens it was your theory that predicted it.

"What b presents is another prediction which is essentially based on the SAME THEORY: the existence of the Deep State and their willingness to exert their power to achieve their goals."

No. b is saying that *Hillary Clinton* is manipulating things. b said absolutely nothing about this being a "Deep State" plot. That is *your* interpretation which is supported by the same zero evidence your own theory is supported by. And b hasn't provided any evidence about Clinton other than that Clinton seems to want Harris under her thumb. Like I said, when b's theory becomes fact, we'll know. Until then, it's just another theory that's no more proven than yours.

You made a *very* specific prediction: That the Deep State wants *Donald Trump* - *not* Hillary Clinton - to be a "Glorious Leader" and that they have orchestrated a *landslide* victory for Trump over Biden. You don't get to back down now and say, "Oh, well, a Biden win is the same thing 'cause Clinton". Bullshit.

Nice try. Utter fail.

It was Steven McIntyre who opened my eyes for Climate gate in 2010:

ClimateGate was in November 2009, I had followed his work a couple of years before that, and his investigation into Michael Mann and the other faux scientists (Mann claimed to be a Nobel Laureate) is truly phenomenal. I think his investigations began in 2004/2005 or even before that. His site is an eye opener into the fraud of the holy church of the magic molecule CO2, which has now morphed into the Covid Cult.

Damn, I just wasted a half hour reading the whole thread. Why do any of us get involved in this conspiracy shit? This isn't the same thing as 9/11 or the JFK assassination - which were worthy of deep thought and investigation.

Clinton is done. She and Bill are not in good health. They aren't even running their "charity" any more. Neither of them has been stumping for Biden. Has anyone noticed that? They are not invited to talk shows and don't appear in public much. Every so often, one of them will go address some Wall St group for a fee, but otherwise, they are invisible. I think she endorsed Biden, but the only thing she has been quoted on (that the press even bothered to report) in the past few years was her comment a week or so back where she said Biden shouldn't concede too quickly. And notice that Biden himself didn't say that and he didn't even bother to respond to her remark.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, in comment sections ever mentions Clinton except to say how much they despise her and that she was the worst Democratic candidate ever, which allowed Trump to win in 2016.

So now, suddenly, she is going to rise like a phoenix and ascend the throne? Even Clinton isn't aiming for that; like I said, she has become a footnote.

Right now I'm actually more worried about the crazies who think Trump is yea, verily, like unto God - you know, the ones who are trying to run busses off the highways and who are showing up at the polling places with their guns, in case they have to shoot some old grandma who might be trying to vote the wrong way.

In a very real way, the public kept Clinton out of the White House in '16 - they won't tolerate her being anointed in some twisted roundabout way now. It's actually kind of ironic, given how little trust there is in the system, but the system is exactly what defeated Clinton before. Of course, it gave us the other scumbag, but you see my point.

"My faith journey started when I was a little girl. On Sundays, my mother would dress my sister, Maya, and me in our Sunday best and send us off to the 23rd Avenue Church of God in Oakland, California, where Maya and I sang in the children’s choir. That’s where I formed some of my earliest memories of the Bible’s teachings."

Just to add to your excellent post destroying the fake fear-mongering bait use by b that Hillary has looming relevance for any post in a Biden administration; Hillary is the perfect bogeyman used mostly by Kremlin and Zionist hasbara to scare the susceptible into not voting or doing a write-in therefore re-electing Trump.

@85 steven t johnson

You destroyed the first half of b's argument. Thank-you.

As far as the title is concerned: Hunter Biden's Story Could Help Hillary Clinton To Become Vice President; it's an eye-catching teaser to a far-fetched conspiracy theory that defies reason and reality.

It would take tools like Jim Jordan and Devin Nunes to make hay out of the bow-legged lap top story, but since they'll thankfully be in the minority in the House, we won't be subjected to their quackery.

Biden will not resign; he wants to create a legacy.

So the whole premise of this theory is a dead end and just last-minute bait to score a Trump squeaker.

Yes, that was a rather strange claim to make, wasn't it? The appropriate comparison is to the arrogant Poles in the run-up to WWII salivating at the thought of manipulating the Germans to help them annex parts of Czech territory, but not long after the Germans had achieved what they wanted in Czech the Poles themselves were effortlessly gobbled up whole by the Germans without any meaningful defense. Likewise I think it was General Breedlove who said recently the whole of NATO (not just German) armed forces in Europe were so weak the entire UK armed forces would be totally eliminated within hours in the event of a war with Russia (and if I remember correctly he included one other category, either the Baltic forces or the German forces).

It's amazing to see that in 2020 there are people who still actually think US (s)elections matter.

I hope some day they can wake up, but I'm not holding my breath. The fear of the unknown is the curse of the peasant. That's why willful ignorance is such a popular choice.

I refuse to feed into this shit show. Why legitimize a banana republic like the USA ? The elite have never allowed peasants like us to have final say in anything, nor would they allow us to threaten their social standing or over sized share of the power and resources.

I just hope the partisan idiots don't inadvertently justify the drone strikes on American citizens on American soil that has already been made legal by the elitist psychopaths.

I had way too much faith in humanity and haven't dug a proper bomb shelter yet.

Stay safe and sane folks, don't let a fake election get to you. None of these elections have changed anything for the better in decades. It's all designed to trick you into thinking you have a say in any of the issues that actually matter. Nothing could be further from the truth.

They all but have, dave. Obama escalated drone strikes three days into his tenure and further endorsed the blood-soaked ritual with his disposition matrix(kill list). Trump escalated them again and even revoked the rules on reporting, we're well on the way to drone strikes in the homeland, you know, just to bag some particularly bad apple of course, and if you consider the generally benign attitude towards the rivers of blood we've already seen, not to mention towards the latest covid tyranny, well, the prognosis ain't dandy.

Well, it is no blog at all once you go beyond the front page. This here is really a blog, but as I pull in the initial sutures of my creature, I can already see that it's not really a blog at all. It comes forth from my horrid nest readings of Dmitri Orlov, Gerald Celente, Eric Zuesse, and even John Michael Greer. It's a scary mess about a future where the USA federal government is almost entirely a military machine, and the population must turn to local community cooperation to survive at all. It covers my pragmatic approach to local governance, psycho-political relationship analysis, and political election issues. There's no food canning or gold stacking stuff.

It will even include a truly terrifying beyond-dystopian horror/sci-fi novel so dark and disturbing that it would be best to avoid reading it at all. It illustrates the outcome when technology becomes stretched beyond all decent limits, and then morphs into high strangeness. In the end, solutions are suggested. Community Survival may work out in the end, but there is no limit to how bad it may get in the meantime.

jinn and migueljose take me to task for being too harsh and too selective. I don't think I'm too harsh. The right Might Wurlitzer, the real one, has been lying about Clinton for thirty years and signing on to it, pretending that the American people agree with it, when the American people voted for Clinton, is nothing but commitment to tired liars.

As for being too selective? there are not really any number of commenters who really shill the Putin is Trump's puppetmaster BS. There are websites that do, the infamous Lawyers, Guns and Money website does. I disagreed vehemently enough to get banned from there, so no I'm not being selective.

If the scenario B unfolds, much less the one you put forward unfolds - the United States *will* descend into civil war.
I see open armed conflict as more likely than Biden->Harris->HRC VP or Biden->Harris->HRC VP->HRC President.
Don't get me wrong - I love the idea. I said before in 2008 (and 2016): a Clinton win meant the US would have had father-son Presidents and husband-wife Presidents in a single generation.
Even the worst banana republics can't boast the same.

Here is a weird Hunter Biden lap top story:

For those of you old enough to remember Robin William's[?] frenetic 1980's stand-up comedy skit cheap poke at USSR Prez Mikhail Gorbachev by referring to Gorby's prominent forehead birthmark as the "Map of Albania".

Well it now appears, based upon punctillious internet sleuthing of images present on Hunter's hard drive, that Hunter seems have a map of the Finger Lakes (11 of them) of NW New York state tattooed/marked on his back--for what reason, no one knows.

But that doesn't stop the internet from speculating why the impaired son of pres. candidate Joe Biden from might have such an attachment to the area.

if Clinton resumes power, it's time to re-expose her family's gold mine profits in Haiti after she raped that country's democracy and overturned mining protections.

Feinstein is guilty of similar corruption wrecking Death Valley for her husband's gold. heck, all of them do it, then print themselves money and bill us for it.

the election is a facade. they are pals, and the fight over who sits on the throne is just to keep us all distracted from reality. it's the last circus, and there's not much bread left.

No, no. You don't get to do some sleight of hand ...

Thanks for keeping me honest! But ...

... I've been saying for years that the Deep State included Hillary (and Bush, McCain, Brennan, Mueller, etc.). In fact, I believe that she threw the election to MAGA Trump.

I've been taken to task for this view by those that cry "the elites are divided!". I tell them that IMO that they are not divided at the very top.

b is saying that *Hillary Clinton* is manipulating things.

I don't think he's saying that.

Hillary Clinton alone can not manipulate things. She has Deep State compatriots.

You made a *very* specific prediction: That the Deep State wants *Donald Trump* - *not* Hillary Clinton - to be a "Glorious Leader"

If you look back you'll see that I wrote that the Deep State could make use of the authority and legitimacy of a 'Glorious Leader'. It is functional. It is a tool.

They have no love for Trump or any desire to gratuitously enhance his statue. They have goals that they seek to achieve in the most sure and efficient way.

Hillary is only 73 but presents as a doddering old lady past 80. She will continue plotting and scheming as long as she lives. Soon she will merely be scheming against her nurses and caretakers.

More generally the entire US political class, at least at the headline level, is badly superannuated. Pelosi is breaking apart at a slower pace than Biden, both are deep into word salad. Trump is a heart attack still walking around. These are not leaders, why do they find followers? Drilling down to staffers in their 30s and 40s they are all ciphers and nonentities. The system is completely broken yet has staying power.

Voters did not know everything about the Steele dossier. But I, for one, had certainly read details leaked in the press, well before the Nov 2016 election. It sounded flakey then, too.
The primary news about the dossier was first announced in detail by CNN on Jan 10, 2017, ten days before Trump's inauguration. Immediately after Obama's speech that day, while the other networks were discussing Obama, with a large audience, CNN instead first revealed the particulars in the dastardly Steele Dossier. CNN would not have done this dossier exposure at this time while neglecting the legacy of their darling Obama if people already had already known about it. The average voter has better things to do than to scan remote websources for what might be just gossip. So yes, you were probably "for one" more or less alone.

Posted by: Don Bacon | Nov 3 2020 15:17 utc | 144

Steele dossier was published by Buzzfeed January 10, 2017. News about the content of the dossier had circulated basically as soon as it was written - starting June 2016. Anyone who followed news in 2016 knows this. Why are we arguing about it?

This corroborates with my theory that the Bidens are one of the families propped up by Bill Clinton's conquest of Eastern Europe.

Posted by: vk | Nov 3 2020 15:52 utc | 146

doubt it. class solidarity is serious business for these "people" and the republicans are as happy to see trump go as the democrats (maybe moreso since they haven't based their collective identity on screeching nonsense for the past 4 years). the blob watches out for its own and a system that ignores war crimes and killer cops won't give a damn about some financial malfeasance. plus i don't see biden having a problem with throwing his son under the bus...he probably thinks some time in a cushy "spa jail" (see also martha stewart's time behind "bars") will be good for hunter and "clean him up".

The turnout seems to be very high for this election, I suspect majority of those are Democrats that have really mobilized for a win, every news channel is like pro-biden, its ridiculous reportig.

I sense Biden will win and win big which I do not say with joy.
I assume it will be like
Biden 57%
Trump 43%

Last time Trump got 46% so I cannot assume he would go beyond that number? The turnout for him isnt really there this time as in the 2016 election I presume.

The Steele dossier was released to the public, including a breathless description by CNN's Jake Tapper, on Jan 10, 2017. Any chatter prior to that time was unsubstantiated because the document did not formally exist. Why are we arguing about it?

So you are the keeper of the memory hole. Something to bear in mind.

Hundreds of copies of Steele dossier were circulating, everyone with any position in media had seen it. No one would break the story because it was trash. Buzzfeed broke the embargo and CNN followed hours after it had gone public domain.

Barflies lounging around waiting/watching the votes being tallied might want to use the time to read this short, 12 page, lecture from 2017 about China's System made by Zhang Weiwei author of the seminal book, The China Wave: Rise of a Civilizational State, complete with graphs and charts. Our European barflies will also want to read it as your political-economy differs little from that of the Outlaw US Empire. Here's a taster that refutes all of Pompeo's lies about China:

"Now, actually the dispute comes with this 'by the people.' So what is, really, 'by the people?' In the
West, in Germany as well, democracy is widely associated with very simple procedural democracy—one person, one vote, plus a multiparty system, and regular elections and rotation of governments. Yet, we find that
in many countries, Western democracy is,— there is this phenomenon called, 'elect and then regret.' If we
look at the Brexit in the U.K., if you look at the U.S. election last year, and we look at opinion surveys about the U.S. Congress, its approval rate is something around 10%.

"So here there is a contrast. The Western approach of democracy is focused on what’s called 'procedural democracy'—procedurally that’s correct, it is democracy. The Chinese approach it differently: China says, let’s first look at substance. So what’s the objective of democracy?—then, try to explore what are the best ways and means to achieve this end, and this is the essence of democracy. So we have conducted wide, extensive experiments—I’ll come to that. I call this a paradigm shift from what’s called 'democracy vs autocracy,' to 'good governance vs bad governance.' In other words, democracy at the level of substance, should be good governance.

"How to achieve good governance? Each country, each nation should explore approaches, procedures appropriate to its national conditions, and that is the approach China has adopted. This is what China has tried out, in terms of the political system. I say, if the Western approach is about elections, the Chinese approach is about selection plus elections. And selection is part of Chinese culture: We have a long tradition. China was the first country that invented the public civil service exam system, what we call keju, by the Sui Dynasty, which means 1,500 years ago. We call this system 'meritocracy.'

"For the top leadership in China today, we have what’s called the members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau. The minimum requirement is having served two terms as a governor of a Chinese province, which means, at minimum, since China is the world’s most populous country, you have to have already governed 100 million people before you become one of the top seven. In the case of Xi Jinping, he actually
managed three provinces, Fujian, Zhejiang and Shanghai. The internal population is 120 million. In terms of the size of the economy, it’s larger than India—all before he became a member of the Standing Committee.
Then he was given another five years in this particular membership, to get familiar with national affairs,
affairs at the national level, and then became the top leader, the President." [All Emphasis Original]

The Outlaw US Empire had a short period where the POTUS was arrived at via a "select then elect" type of system, and some will argue that system still exists, although in reality it hasn't for @100 years. As you read, Xi is quite capable and he needs to be. I guarantee everyone will learn something, most likely many things, from this lecture.

I did not suggest anything of the sort.
You ask me a question I answered that question.
Neither the question you asked or the answer I gave suggested anything at all about you. I have no idea how you arrived at the conclusion that I was suggesting something about you.

The problem with the Steel Dossier is all the narratives that accompany the Steel Dossier are either Preposterous, Ludicrous or just plain Silly.

The main story that attempts to explain the creation of the Steel Dossier is that it was created by somebody (i.e. the Deep state) to defeat Trump in 2016. Well that is wrong as you admit, because it could easily have been used for that purpose but it clearly was not used to influence the election. The fact that numerous Washington swamp players were given the Steel Dossier and could have used it but did not is pretty good evidence of who those deep staters wanted to be elected.

The whole story regarding the Steel Dossier and FISA warrant is also just so ridiculous. Nobody seems to care that Page was a CIA asset working inside the Trump campaign. Having a CIA plant in the trump campaign raises no eyebrows, but after Page leaves the trump campaign and the FBI taps his phone, for some reason that gets peoples panties in wad about the deep state infiltrating the Trump campaign.
A FISA warrant is only needed when the intelligence community wants evidence that can be used in court. If they are gathering intelligence that is to be used for extra-legal purposes like blackmail or sabotage the last thing they do is get a warrant and leave a paper trail. But they needed a paper trail or the story that they are creating will be a story without evidence.
And we know the FBI informed the CIA about the wiretap so there is no reason to suspect that Page was unaware his phone calls were being intercepted. The whole story is just goofy, but to those who are immersed in the illusion that the Donald is battling the Deep State it all makes perfect sense. The Biden laptop story had better script writers than the FISA warrant story.

The Steele Dossier is just a prop in the Kayfabe battle of "Trump vs the Deep State". It was created to help bolster the illusion that our hero Trump is engaged in mortal combat with his legendary nemesis deep state. And after 4 years of it looking like the Donald was losing in the end the Donald comes out victorious. That dramatic turn of events was designed to energize trump supporters and demoralize Trump haters.

and again, this is why i believe the cia-fbi need to be held accountable to playing partisan politics...

That is what you keep saying but if you believe that why did you start this whole exchange by posting a complaint that the FBI was sitting on Hunters laptop for months when that is exactly what a neutral non-partisan FBI should be doing. If they don't have evidence to make an arrest the proper non-partisan thing to do is to say nothing. The same for the Steele Dossier. the FBI-CIA did not create it or leak it to the press.

The FBI did play partisan politics during the 2016 campaign when they repeatedly announced to the world that Hillary was the subject of a criminal investigation. That was partisan politics. The FBI should have said nothing just as they did for the Steele dossier and Hunter's laptop. If there is a crime they should make an arrest and take the person to court and tell their story to the court. If there is no crime they are supposed to keep their mouths shut.

From where I sit it looks like:
You don't complain when the FBI does engage in partisan politics and you do complain when they don't.

Posted by: jinn | Nov 3 2020 18:28 utc | 165

james (#45) does have a point. The FBI snatching Hunter Biden's laptop only to sit on it for months is a problem which now cannot be solved in a good way anymore. It's James Comey and the Clinton E-Mails revisited. Under its current leadership, there's no way the FBI would have or could have explored the laptop. But it should have done so. It's the FBI, it's their job. Even if a full, proper and timely investigation would have come to the (unlikely) conclusion that there's absolutely nothing to it, that would at least have closed the issue and kept it plus the FBI out of the election. The reason the FBI failed to act is precisely the implications this would have for its director. Like James said, the very same deal that Hunter Biden was throwing his daddy's weight behind, Christopher Wray did litigation work for. Different role than Hunter, but the same deal, the same goal. Now he's head of the FBI and obliged to investigate Hunter's role, thereby disclosing his role. Make Hunter appear in a bad light, make himself appear in a bad light. You couldn't make this shit up. Why all of this matters: conflict of interest and national security implications. I wonder how many of the senators knew about all of this. When Wray realized he was being considered, first thing he did was scrub his bio at King & Spalding. Not a word left about his involvement with Chinese CEFC. And if you think, like I did, that Wray was a partisan nomination which the Democrats refused to support because of what happened to their beloved James Comey, you're wrong. Wray was confirmed 92 to 5. Senator Elizabeth Warren smelled the rat and voted 'no'. Kamala Harris, on the other hand...

I remember Steele Dossier being known and its contents bandied about before the election in 2016. The pee-tape was made much of. Couldn't say about MSM as I don't watch them. I don't remember the whole thing being published before the election, but I always considered it bullshit, and not good bullshit either, so I wasn't paying much attention to the details.

I don't know about the Biden/Aspen stuff, seems pretty low-rent but then that's Biden. I think the laptop is real, as in it was Hunter's at one time, it's being used as a weapon against Biden, who quite likely, no no wait, who highly likely deserves it, and everything past that I'm waiting to see how it shakes out.

Unless they can show it's fake, I think it will be an anchor around Biden's neck, win or lose.

Scotch Bingeington @166

The FBI snatching Hunter Biden's laptop only to sit on it for months is a problem which now cannot be solved in a good way anymore.

What exactly are you claiming is the problem?

The problem is you guys have no idea what a non-partisan FBI would look like...
The purpose of the FBI is to prosecute crimes. The FBI is not supposed to dig up dirt and report it to the public. When Comey blabbed about Hillary's emails that was a unethical partisan action designed to damage Hillary's reputation. There was no crime. It was just the Republican Comey helping Republican Trump get elected.

Your whole assertion that the FBI did not investigate is ridiculous. That is what the "I" in FBI stands for.
When the FBI investigates you are supposed to hear nothing unless they file charges and then you read about it in the court documents. That is how a non-partisan FBI behaves.

There is no evidence that we have been shown on Hunter's laptop that could be used to prosecute anybody for violating a federal statute. Given that the FBI acted properly by saying nothing.

It is really shameful that people here are actually begging for the FBI to dig up dirt and use it to smear people for political reasons.

If you have actual evidence that will stand up in court then take it up with the Delaware state or local law enforcement. I'm sure those law enforcement have plenty of trump supporters that will help you if they can.

As far as I can tell the laptop reveals nothing that was not already generally known. Hunter is a lowlife who has benefited from his family name and connections. Some of the things he was involved in probably should be made illegal, but until voters elect politicians that are willing to root out corruption that is never going to happen.

@ jinn | Nov 3 2020 18:28 utc | 165.. with a little bit more imagination, it would be easier for you to understand me... first off - ''the trump is putins guy'' which ramped up prior to the 2016 election was further used to eat up for the first few years of his admin... leaving aside who benefits from all of this - lets agree the usa public gets no benefit from it... it was a complete waste of time on so many levels...

to your other assertions... if there is wrong doing on the part of anyone - regardless any supposed real or imagined alliance that the fbi has with a political agenda, i would expect the wrong doing to be investigated... if there is a conflict of interest which is what the article i shared focused on - wray - how exactly does that still work?? my view is that it doesn't which leads me to the position that the fbi-cia have been politicized and both need to be replaced or taken apart and rebuilt...they have gotten too powerful and appear to no longer serve the people of the usa...

no, i don't want this both ways.. as i repeat.. i have no interest in this from a partisan pov... i'm not an american.. i have stated numerous times i personally believe it doesn't matter which one of these 2 are in power... i do believe the fbi-cia need to be taken apart and replaced with something different.. this is for the american people to figure it out.. your viewpoint expressed at the end is wrong... the fbi is not operating properly.. thanks..

@ jinn | Nov 3 2020 19:34 utc | 168 quotes..."The problem is you guys have no idea what a non-partisan FBI would look like..." i think the problem is someone underestimates others intelligence myself...

"It is really shameful that people here are actually begging for the FBI to dig up dirt and use it to smear people for political reasons." again, you are entitled to your opinion, but it's off course and misguided as i see it... have the last word... cheers james

Yes, I did! Because Trump is the one that is positioned to become a 'Glorious Leader' figure via a second-term and surprise win (especially if that win is a landslide).

That's my prediction. Based on a theory of the Deep State.

What b wrote of is also a prediction. And also based on a theory that can be traced to some conception of the Deep State because Hillary didn't plant the laptop and have it discovered at the last minute. And she is very unlikely to have the power to manipulate independently of other powerful actors.

"What b wrote of is also a prediction."

Agreed, as I said before.

"And also based on a theory that can be traced to some conception of the Deep State..."

"traced to some conception" - which b did *not* state or even hint at any connection between Clinton and the laptop, other than that Clinton or Harris might be able to use it to get rid of Biden. That could be pre-planned or opportunistic. No one knows - including you.

"because Hillary didn't plant the laptop and have it discovered at the last minute."

And you have absolutely zero evidence that she had anything whatever to do with the laptop. That she might opportunistically be able to use it against Biden is possible, but not a given. It's just another theory from b.

"And she is very unlikely to have the power to manipulate independently of other powerful actors."

As I said, in the political sphere, yes, she can. And she's not "independent" because she can call on other *political* figures - she doesn't need any Deep State people from the intelligence community to pull that off.

Your speculations are a waste of everyone's time. As I said before, even if Trump manages to eke out a win, it proves nothing about your theory. It will barely even increase the theory's credibility - unless, as you specifically predicted, Trump wins by a "landslide." Which I don't see happening.

Posted by: karlof1 | Nov 3 2020 16:49 utc | 155 -- Thanks for the 2017 Zhang Weiwei lecture. Your postings make it worthwhile for me to wade through the hundreds of silly small boy speculations here.

Zhang is correct: we the people desire the sweet substance of good governance, not the appearance of democracy by procedural pretense.

Because all reward-systems in the US are locked into the presently predominating procedural pretense of democracy, there will be no change, possibly in the next 50 years, until this generation, and the next, of political grifters dies away. Meanwhile, Main Street America will see a relative decline in quality of life.

That noxious face of Kamala in pretend-happy 'winner' mode is but one example out of thousands in the US leadership structural gridlock that needs to be swept aside, right down to the corrupt county judges and laughable university professors.

There is hope for America, but not yet. Americans are a great people, but they are asleep, just as China was once a sleeping dragon. When they wake up --after the poison has done its worst -- "we the people" will arise to make America great again. But not before.

james @173

The way the federal system is supposed to work is the FBI discovers what they think might be a crime and as a result a grand jury is convened and a panel of ordinary US citizens is shown the evidence in secret proceedings and they decide whether they think there was a crime. If they decide there is no crime then that is the end of it. The whole thing is kept secret and there is no mention that the FBI investigated anything. That is how the US Constitution says it is supposed to work and that is what we have to work with whether you like it or not. It is a good system if you have a grand jury composed of ordinary people who are thoughtful. it soes not work when the grand jury is composed of morons.

If the FBI does nothing in regard to the Hunter Biden laptop (or any other investigation) all that means is that they could not find sufficient evidence that a grand jury would call it a crime. It does not mean any of the things you claim it means. The system is designed by the founding fathers so that you will never hear about an investigation unless the govt can convince a panel of ordinary citizens that a crime has been committed.

The reason the FBI has too much power is because they are far too many Americans who think like you do. (not blaming you since you claim not to be American) I am beating on you because there are too many stupid Americans that think the same as you and maybe they will learn something by educating you about how our US federal system works.

@ 177 jinn... thanks... i appreciate it... i don't exactly know how it works, but some of my recent commentary was coming out of another conversation being had over at pat langs site.. now, i would say a number of the posters at pl's site are trump supporters, so my viewpoint on all this might be coloured as a consequence of reading their is a link to this conversation... Turns Out the FBI Has Been Hiding More Seth Rich Documents by Larry Johnson
now, maybe pat lang and larry johnson - both cia intel people - are so skewed in their partisanship that they are not able to look at it clearly...i am receptive to this idea, but i am also receptive to the idea that they both think the fbi is acting inappropriately has merit... take a look at the thread and commentary and see what you think... cheers..

kiwiklown @176--

Thanks for your reply and perseverance! Have you read the open preview of Prof. Zhang's book, The China Wave: Rise of a Civilizational State, I linked to? If not, it's just a click away. It covers the intro and 1st chapter and provides a very refreshing perspective on the development of nations. Ha!! Even better, I took a moment to do another search to see if I could find an e-version of the book online and was rewarded for my efforts! Here it is in PDF, although it lacks notes and index.

Personally I see China as an inspiration, not as any threat. It's success also happens to validate my ideas about historical progression, which are also shared by other historians and philosophers. IMO, the failure of the West is a failure of Vision and a triumph of shortsightedness--Lennon's Imagine terrified those deemed leaders at the time and likely still does. Be Well!

Your speculations are a waste of everyone's time.

I made a prediction to test a theory. I explained that a successful prediction was more powerful than attempting to explain what happened after the fact.

You seem to have a real problem with any such effort. But to think that there is no election manipulation until proven beyond a doubt is laughable.

Sanders as 'sheepdog' is one stark example. It is only a 'theory' but one that has good evidence.

Black Agenda Report's prediction that Bernie was a sheepdog - made soon after Sanders entered the race in 2015 - was "proven" when Bernie adamantly refused to attack Hillary on any and all 'character issues' during the race. His exclamation, "Enough with your damn emails!", was the epitome of his falseness as a candidate.

In another epic 'give', Bernie allowed Hillary to claim, at the the crucial NY debate, that she had "NEVER changed her vote for money" despite the well known example of Hillary's doing just that (as described by Elizabeth Warren). And Bernie continued to support Hillary despite her DNC collusion against him and Hillary's bringing a disgraced Debra Wasserman-Shultz into the Hillary campaign.

Immediately after the NY debate, I watched Bernie be interviewed where he was ask about Hillary's claim. Bernie readily acknowledged the example that showed that she had lied. He basically just shrugged.

Bernie's "Our Revolution" Nonprofit and his 2020 campaign has also been criticized as a continuation of his sheepdogging. Anyone interested in these can look into the moa archives or search for info on the internet.

she doesn't need any Deep State people from the intelligence community

If Hillary has such power (which I very much doubt) then that is a entirely different problem.

<> <> <> <>

Respected officials and media figures tell us repeatedly, and without any qualms, of their "theories" that Russians interfered in US elections despite having the barest evidence for that claim.

But we are to believe that our own Deep State and their political assets would NEVER manipulate elections - there's no beyond-a-doubt proof!

So USA's money-driven electoral system and highly-propagandized public is highly susceptible to outside interference but the possibility of manipulation by anti-democratic domestic asshats is ... "unproven conspiracy theory"?

They are looking at it clearly.
They want the FBI to be a partisan instrument of power in complete support of trump. They do not want a non-partisan FBI. There is nothing at all befuddled or unclear about what they are after.

Much of the US population is watching news that has indoctrinated them to believe that Seth Rich was killed by Hillary Clinton so of course the FBI is going to look into it.

Why is the FBI investigating a mere robbery?

Well because it resulted in a murder that has been alleged by many Americans to be connected to the theft of the DNC data which the FBI was already investigating. The fact that the FBI is not talking about it is standard policy - it means nothing.

May I remind that Wray was appointed by trump after many many months of searching and vetting candidates. If trump can't find a single person in the whole GD USA to work for him that is not actually working for Obama or Clinton maybe he's not qualified for the job.

Or maybe he's working for the same people that Obama and Clinton worked for.

Occam's Razor.

Posted by: Jackrabbit | Nov 4 2020 2:10 utc | 183

I've noted several times at moa that the Seth Rich story stinks. It can not be divorced from the equally shitty narrative about Russian hacking and the setting up of Assange/Wikileaks to be publicly condemned as a hostile intelligence agency.

My best guess is that "Seth Rich" is a cover for a Mossad operative working with CIA. Seth Rich "died" and the operative was reassigned.

I suspect the FBI investigation will ultimately lead to a dead end.

<> <> <> <> <>

And lets not forget the OTHER DNC insider that supposedly acted on their pro-Bernie (the sheepdog) views: Tulsi Gabbard.

What a smart political move to resign from the DNC - despite the overwhelming expectation that Hillary would become President. Any rational person with political ambitions would've remained on Hillary's side.
