EU can use Turkey & China against Russia, no problems.

With the US gone, the balance of the world would be EU in the West and China in the East, with Russia, Japan, India and ASEAN as regional powers, check and balance.

Japan can team up with ASEAN and India as a ring of fire around China.

But Russia is fucked if China decides the whole Europe is a more valuable partner.

Of course, the US can come back too when it gets it shit back together, so Europe still holds all the chips.

Interesting that you see this one sided aggression as a war.
Already armchair quarterbacking it.

Lucci @195

The BCG was very effective, actually. But as I wrote - the USA did not take it up because it was at the time (and remains) a for high-profit medical system and there is little money in such vaccines as the BCG (well, US companies don't have the patent). And it is still the only anti-TB vaccine and is effective, but can only work (as a preventative) when given to those without any TB at all.

@debsisdead (172)
I think on said Brexit thread Lurk and I briefly discussed the way in which England has schemed against any agreement between continental powers that it deemed threatening to its formerly hegemonic interests, so I doubt that England could ally with Russia. At least not when England has played its part in fomenting Russophobia in the EU.

Rumor has it that England used Germany as a battering-ram against Russia before WWI, only to fight with Germany after failing to contain Russia. Rumor also has it that part of it was thanks to Otto von Bismarck's idea of a Russia-Germany (Eurasian?) economic alliance that could rival the British Empire.

Also, isn't England Germanic too?

Ukraine had a coup with the President fleeing. Afterward, oligarchs rule. Crimea would be fools not to leave. Crimea was Russian before Texas was USA.

There is more. Banking has an odd and opaque history of global control of money/finance. It was clear by ca. 1900 that the global keystone was control of USA banking...but how?, because any USA legislation had to be signed-off by a President...the ONLY exception being overriding a pres. veto. It could not be done in USA by pres. decree.

So the riddle is how could this rip-off be done in a freak nation that was an open society of free public discourse full of very active politician? Even if Congress could be bribed and otherwise cajoled to pass such legislation, how could any President be "arranged" to sign it?

CLUE--headmaster W. Wilson of Princeton University suddenly rose to Governor of New Jersey , then suddenly ran for Pres of US. A most wierd election resulted in WW becoming Pres and in his first year signed the Fed Res Act. Boom! Done!

CLUE--How did the bankers, Warburg et al, manage to put WW under their control? How did they select WW and get hooks so deeply into headmaster WW and get him elected Pres.? What was their secret?...and that could be kept secret? and never in writing.

The ANSWER might well be known only to surviving members of families of those involved in WW's mysterious medical maladies. Though WW's doctors never disclosed publicly all his medical data, related family members of consulted medical experts would likely have it as a family secret...that WW had an "unspeakable" malady whose diagnosis was quietly handed down to successive generations.

And OMO it is so.

After the victory against Napoleon, the Russian Empire consolidated itself in the European geopolitical game as the "gatekeeper" of the old ways (i.e. absolutist monarchy).

The last Romanovs were directly related by blood to the then British royal family.

Here's a interesting little article if you're into European royal families:

@207 Which probably accounts for the British hatred of Bolsheviks.....at least among the upper classes.

200# oldhippie;

Of course, you are right, you immediately responded, apologies.Posting on different MoA threads and sometimes life gets in the way.I have much to do in and around the house, and quite often I forget to look back if somebody has to say something on my input.

I did not know about Trump or Clinton tracing back their origins to Charlemagne.Heard about the Bush family though. It must be very hard to prove likewise affirmations over such a long time.To my knowledge arab tribesmen or chinese families can report unbroken lineages, but it is hard to believe that in medieval europe such precise records were held.On the other hand the utmost upperclass is all about breeding. Willem van Oranje, the father of the dutch nation ,prince of the realm, was descendant from Charlemagne.he is the ancestor of the actual dutch royal family, but the bloodline seems to be broken in the end of 19th century because of the then king Willem III being unable to have children.

The chechen 18-yearold that beheaded the history/geography teacher waited all afternoon besides the school, then asked pupils coming out to point the teacher,he followed him, decapitated him, shot a picture of the head on the asphalt to post on a website, then went his way.Few hours before he wrote on his website:Macron, leader of the infidels,I executed one of your hellhounds who dared to insult Muhammad. If this is all fake, ergo staged, then we have to admire the cleverness of it,although Macron's very unusual and profuse sweating while visiting Conflans St.Honorine would indicate its veracity.

In three weeks we've had:

Pakistani Minor asylum granted on false identity heavily wounding two employees at former Charlie Hebdo building.Three days later his father in Pakistan is seen on video telling he is very proud of his son defending the prophet. This a few days after Macron declares he will accept 500 unaccompanied minors from the Lesbos camp-fire

40 young people attacking police station in Chantilly les Vignes with no reposting by the scared policemen.Next day we hear about the fact it is the fifteenth of such happenings this year, never reported about.

France paying 900000 euros and liberating 204 jihadists from Mali prison, in exchange for the liberation of two ranking Malian politics and longtime hostage Sophie Petronin.75 yearold aidworker referred to as franco-swiss.On arrival at Villacoublay military airport Macron was waiting along with her son.To everyone's surprise the lady wore a veil, told the public her name was Miriam, she converted to islam and was full of praise for her hostagekeepers. She said she understood their actions and demands. She said she wanted to go back to Mali,to continue working and giving aid to poor people.

And now this beheading.Everybody in France sees now that their government declares a war on covid and gives all means to curfew, ausweiss control, testing, fining non-compliants,putting 12000 policemen to control the covid-19 curfew, but when there are islamist killers roaming around or maghrebin youth attacking policestations there is nothing
of the kind possible, not withstanding the fact that Macron also declared war on "separatisms" in this very week. People fear now for their teachers, and even more for their children, and as I posted before, this teacher was a very conscious person,a sympathetic teacher, who warned the children at beforehand before showing the drawing and giving the possibility for pupils to walk out and not see it; in order to explain the concept of freedom of expression to the class along the ministerial guidelines.

So how does this make the average frenchman feel?

Thank you - a fascinating observation and interpretation. It has legs as they say but needs some solid ground to run on. There must have been keen observers in the day that shed light on this phenomenal rise to power. In the USA no one gets bankrolled so promptly and overwhelmingly with such immediate success without there being a mafia of some type behind them. The memoirs of members in the state house would reveal a tale or two.

One sided conflict is still war. I'm saying this is the likely future.

willie--

"explain the concept of freedom of expression "

Don't know much about the whole affair but IMO, hebdo should be sued into the ground by the teacher's family and Muslims.
That imo is not freedom of expression but out and out attention getting along with spitting in someones face and kicking their mother.
and Hebdo knows that. And so does everyone else with a quarter of a brain.

Smith @ 212,

Well I'm glad there are some adults in the room like Xi, and Putin.

The fact that the US actually used nukes on populated cities displayed a kind of insanity that the assholes continue to use.

Johns Hopkins current map of US pandemic

Note steadily rising case count. Until case counts represent 3% of total tests, the US is losing. That there is more testing, thus more cases, is irrelevant. What matters is the percentage of new positive cases vs total testing.

Note the US has now had more confirmed cases - over 8 million, or one in 50 - than any other country including India and Brazil.

Los Angeles has had 6,855 deaths. San Francisco - 133. That's what happens when you lockdown early and hard. But even San Francisco is seeing a rising frequency of deaths since it has somewhat opened up. https://data.sfgov.org/stories/s/dak2-gvuj

Below is a short post from Xinhuanet that virus followers will find interesting.

"
BEIJING, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Saturday confirmed the detection and isolation of living novel coronavirus on the outer packaging of imported frozen cod in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao.

The finding was made during an investigation to trace the source of recent infections reported in the city. It has proved that contact with packaging contaminated by living novel coronavirus could lead to infection, the China CDC announced on its website.

It is the first time in the world that living novel coronavirus has been isolated from the outer packaging of cold-chain food, the China CDC said.

The agency said that the risk of cold-chain food circulating in China's market being contaminated by the novel coronavirus is very low, citing recent nucleic acid test results for samples taken from the business.

A total of 2.98 million samples had been tested across the country's 24 provincial-level regions by Sept. 15, including 670,000 taken from cold-chain food or food packaging, 1.24 million from working staff and 1.07 million from the environment.

Only 22 samples from cold-chain food or food packaging tested positive for the virus, the China CDC said.
"

So, its possible but not very probable

Everything that comes in past my door gets wiped down with hydrogen peroxide (even stuff sealed with plastic because I'm handling it while wiping it down), kills viruses in 30 seconds. Then I wash my hands to get rid of the hydrogen peroxide on them, and then I apply hand sanitizer. Covered. Should be obvious. I bought a couple bottles from Target way back in April when I saw they happened to have a lot on hand, and four more from Walmart later. Still have three unopened.

1. Thanks your interest.

2. Disregard the OMO.

3. ...and to further clarify,I know nothing of nor refer to any written memoirs, only to actual, professional medical consultants in what was, and may still be, a most delicate matter.

4. For a time-frame model: someone my age now is old enuf
to have spoken to ex-slaves in 1940s, who were old enuf then [abt 90+] to recall their slavery and being freed in 1864/5. So hypothetically, a 1915-doctor's children and grandchildren could have heard directly from his lips the straight skinny very long after WW died. Also, the recipients may have never even heard of The Federal Reserve...or that WW had anything to do with its creation. I.e., the Fed ostensibly being alien to WW's medical affairs.
But I digress.

I do not know if it is Chinese diplomatic manners, but they have always refrained from naming the source / origin of the covid19-infected imported frozen foodstuffs.

Naming the port of origin will actually HELP the exporting country in their covid19 fight, unless of course, that place is a certain Exceptional Nation, which is beyond help for the foreseeable future.

And even more so the french army, especially the Barkhane forces deployed in Mali, and Niger, who had fifty dead over six years, and now see Macron giving his accord to release 200 jihadists that this force managed to capture. All this for a woman who was said to be gravely ill,but who now liberated seems quite fit giving interviews and all,and who wants to go back to Mali. And she's not even a proper frenchwoman!

Interesting to learn that Russia takes back russian citizenship for those who ask asylum in another country. The chechen moscou-born killer is often referred to as russian, but he ain't no more.

I think Kadyrov president of Chechnya has a good reaction, but of course underreported if at all in french press. Those are terrorist acts he sais, and we know what to do about them, and we were successful, but freedom of expression does not mean to be able to continuously smear other people's religious feelings. This in contrast to french opinion, who would like to see a white march with mourners harboring the very caricature-cartoon that caused so many thugs to feel a moment of religious bravery ending in bloodbaths. That way it will never stop.

There is no average frenchman. It is a consumerist society with very substandard family values. The special thing is that the teachers community is very leftist and ideologically sold to open borders, climatechange,LGBT,antiracism, and this in complete agreement with the liberal governments of the last fifteen years. Now those people will fear even more for the people they pretend to defend.

The french authoroties are not able to give an even approximative number of the chechens in France, asylumseekers,or even those having been granted asylum.Somewhere between ten and fifty thousand.Of course those are most likely islamist types on the run from Putin or Kadyrov. This country is as rotten to the core as the USA,in a somewhat different manner. And the authorities keep on talking about how "the Republican Values" have been attacked, every time and again, but never do nothing. Then the next election it is the same,by a game of smoke and mirrors you can be president in France with hardly 20% of the vote.It is still called democracy.Vive le Roi!

Posted by: willie | Oct 18 2020 21:35 utc | 224

Charlie Hebdo was and is a very bad taste weekly magazine, with some good written articles, but their cartoons are bad drawings, with a very bad taste and preference for mocking catholicism, and this for thirty years. Some fifteen years ago they started to criticize islam, and with invariably very spiritless ,uncouth and disgusting cartoons, mixing perversion, sex, and religious items. Not even a bit funny. As you might expect, the hebrew religion is never granted this treatment. It sells about 30000 copies. But after the 2015 attack a lot of new subscribers arrived, pushing up to 300000 copies, after the 7 million(!) incriminated edition was sold allover the world with french arrogance claiming to be defenders of freedom of expression,a republican value.

I would like to tell you more, because there is a shield between anglosaxon and french culture that is deliberately put in place from the seventies until now,but I am too sick and tired of all this lying, pretense and posturing.Yesterday I watched A Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick, and isaid to myself:Were it not for the very original wording based on Antony Burgess'book, and the nice voice in which Malcolm MacDowell speaks them,it would be a kinda heavy film.It was made in 1971 as a low budget sciencefiction movie, and quite accurately it depicts the society we live in now.

Posted by: willie | Oct 18 2020 21:53 utc | 225

@224 Thanks for the response. I wasn’t really expecting any answers because it seems to be a taboo subject just about everywhere.

The protest rallies in France suggest something is bubbling under the surface. But what? Have people become disillusioned with the open border policy? It’s a bit late for that.

Posted by: dh | Oct 18 2020 21:55 utc | 226

Attention b:

Muslims killing liberals, much cause of celebration.

The only bad thing is that this will just give more pretext for more police state stuff and of course more nonsense "woke" islamification.

Nowadays I do find the muslim (even jihadis) more sympathetic because at least they are honest and fight for what they believe in, if you insult their prophet, you get beheaded. That's simple enough.

dh,
clicked only just now on your you tube link.I knew it already from some three four years ago.A group of nice young french women and mothers of small children who sing this anti-immigrant song.Les Brigandes. They have other songs, and with good lyrics. You will never ever see them on tv in France, because anti-immigration means far-right,far-right means fascism, and fascism will not be televized by french media. It is as simple as that.I think not many people know about them.It is a feature of french society that there are quite a few political songwriters, with very discrete audiences.....

nice of you to come up with this,dh,thanks.Enough written now.The time gap between Europe and USA makes it sometimes diffcult to hold a ping-pong discussion.

Posted by: willie | Oct 18 2020 22:12 utc | 228

@228 I stumbled across Les Brigandes a few years ago. Charming young ladies I thought. Tres francaise. I know they got censored.

The protests puzzle me. Obviously the Hebdo cartoons were designed to offend. Are the protestors saying they have a right to be offensive?

Repondez a votre guise.
