‘Mostly Peaceful’ Rioting And Looting Is Helping Trump’s Campaign

The Civil War of 2020 continues apace.

2020

bigger

After three months of continuous clashes in Portland between Antifa rioters, who hide behind peaceful protests, and the police, the mayor is finally concerned about the damage:

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler said Wednesday he hasn’t done enough to focus on damages caused by some city protests over the last three months and the fallout from coronavirus. He called on the community to help him come up with better solutions to city issues.

During the last months the Magnificent Mile in Chicago was looted – twice. Yesterday new riots and looting occurred in Minneapolis after a rumor of another police killing incited some people:

Police Chief Medaria Arradondo tried to dispel rumors that spread on social media about the death of the unidentified Black man, who was suspected in a Wednesday afternoon homicide and fatally shot himself on the Nicollet Mall as officers approached several hours later. His death, which was captured on city surveillance video and released by police within 90 minutes, nonetheless sparked protests and unrest in the heart of downtown.

The video confirmed the police account of what happened and showed the man glancing over his shoulder before pulling out the gun and firing, then collapsing to the ground as a half-dozen witnesses ran away with their hands in the air. The officers, one of whom had his gun drawn, shooed a remaining witness away and kicked the suspect’s gun away before performing chest compressions.

Last Sunday police in Kenosha, Wisconsin proved to be too incompetent to arrest a man they had already had under control. They shot him 7 times into the back when he was trying to get into his car. Nights of rioting followed. Buildings were burned down and businesses were looted.

Yesterday a white teen with a semi-automatic weapon had the stupid idea to join others in 'protecting the businesses' in Kenosha from further looting. He ended up killing two people and wounding more after he was attacked by some of the rioters. The teen was arrested and he is facing charges but I doubt that he is guilty of more than sheer stupidity and manslaughter in self defense.

The cycle of violence will likely continue. There are too many racist in the police and the level of U.S. police training seems to be abysmal. There is also too much tolerance for violence within the general community.

Politically this plays into Trump's law and order campaign. The Democrats have lauded Black Live Matters and the protests but have hardly spoken out against the rioting and looting that comes with them.

This CNN chyron from yesterday evening is an expression of their position:

bigger

'Mostly peaceful protests' are like the 'moderate rebels' in Syria – propaganda constructs that do not exist in the real world. The people who owned the burning cars and whose businesses were destroyed will not be relieved by such phrasing.

Joe Biden's attempt to swing Republican voters to his side has failed. At the same time he has rejected many of the issues progressives favored. This will hurt the election turn out the Democrats will need. Add to that the unrest which plays into Trump's hands. The Democrats who fear that are right:

“There’s no doubt it’s playing into Trump’s hands,” said Paul Soglin, who served as mayor of Madison, on and off, for more than two decades. “There’s a significant number of undecided voters who are not ideological, and they can move very easily from Republican to the Democratic column and back again. They are, in effect, the people who decide elections. And they are very distraught about both the horrendous carnage created by police officers in murdering African Americans, and … for the safety of their communities.”

Trump, of course, is positioning himself as the antidote to urban unrest. "So let me be clear: The violence must stop, whether in Minneapolis, Portland or Kenosha," Vice President Mike Pence declared in his Republican convention speech Wednesday night, with Trump looking on. "We will have law and order on the streets of this country for every American of every race and creed and color."

Republicans had chided Joe Biden and other Democrats for not calling out the violence in the aftermath of the Blake shooting. Biden immediately addressed the shooting, but didn’t condemn the ensuing violence until Wednesday in a video posted on social media.

Despite Trump's failure to bring the pandemic under control his job approval rating continues to be high while Biden's lead in the polls is shrinking. The United States seem to have a higher tolerance for avoidable death by guns or viruses than other societies have. It is not the only point that makes it exceptional.

@pretzelattack
Really now? So the first thing to do when you see someone is shot by a gun and run off, is to charge the one with the gun?
While the so-called “psychopath” is running off?
Jesus christ, you people say street justice, and street justice is what you get, by trying to disarming a kid with an AR15 and forcing him to use it.
And yes, that kid ends riot. Riots and protesters only know fear when shots are fired, it seems. They literally stop chasing him when he defends himself.

so much bullshit…so much fucking bullshit
the guy shot seven times in the back by the cops for not immediately yelling yes sir who would you like me to service sir ……must have deserved it cause he did not shoud ‘yes sir, how may i service you sir’. Nothing to do with racist assholes parading around in police uniforms knowing that qualified immunity will keep them out of jail even if they would have shot that guy seven times straight in the face. Cause ‘I feared for my life’ and beside ” he did not yield’.
The women who got killed in her house by racists masquerading as cops, she should have just had the good sense to not live in that house, surely if she had chosen to live in a different house she would not have been killed by cops who have a get out of jail card with their qualified immunity.
ditto the guy with the knee on his neck until he called for his momma and died. Should just have not done something ….cause the police in the US can kill you, you, you, you and all of you others without any fear at all cause qualified immunity.
That dumbfuck kid that went to play copper was one year short of a batch, a uniform, a gun and qualified immunity. The dumbfuck should have just waited in time, and he too could be a racist fucking killer with qualified immunity on the taxpayers dime.
Clearly US Americans are some of the dumbest people, and this includes current residents here, cause you would give that dumbfuck kid a batch, a uniform, a gun and qualified immunity to kill you too.
Self defense my ass. The guy came to kill, he did, and oops he should have waited a year. Mind i hear their gadgets are smart and semi automatic murder sticks are a penis replacement for most of them. This country can not burn down fast enough.

Jason @ 400 — “Don’t consider myself young, but in this geriatric tavern 40’s is probably a spring chicken.”
I am always careful to use the words, “young minds”. Just because people grow old physically it does not mean they grow an educated mind. Problem is, just as you cannot help stupid (and don’t we all have cousins like that?), so a young mind does not know it is a young mind. Get it?
“I appreciate and am an avid reader of Karlof, a troll he is not. I don’t always agree with him….”
I read every single one of Karlof1’s comments; chase down the articles he shares. Walter is the other one like that. Both are fascinating people who have gone round the block more than most of us here. I approach this forum — excellent as it is because of the interesting input from most commenters — with the view of educating myself. I take what I will, and leave the rest behind, just as they say in AA meetings. Also useful is to learn new ways of thinking, of presenting my thoughts, of seeing how others defend their ideas from… you guessed it… young minds. Believing that we are all on the same side against the evil elites, we ought not be bashing each other round the head. OK, go knock a couple heads, but please, no baseball bats.
“I think the older crowd’s working days happened during a historical period where it was much easier to earn a living and even become wealthy.”
Ah, here you unwittingly touch on one of my fave issues. Why is it harder to get by in the US on TWO incomes when your dad could of gotten relatively comfortable on ONE? And would public finance change things for the better? I study America, not that I have any desire to be an American, but what happens to you today, Jason, points to what will happen to hundreds of millions of other Americans. And what befalls America will also affect negatively the other 7 billion human beings. That is why my anger at the elite class presently domiciled / operating through Washington / New York City. Their greed is stopping the world from turning !!!

Good luck providing evidence of each individual committing arson or other crimes. Let’s not forget the kid committed crimes to even get to the riot.
Looks like everyone involved can easily be painted as a criminal so you don’t have much of a point. Especially after the kid’s reputation for being an ardent and blatant Trump supporter to the point of his peers predicting him becoming a famous mass shooter. His lawyer will ask for a change of venue unless he’s incompetent. I still think the kid should get a lawyer that specializes in murder cases instead of one that specializes in defamation and slander cases.
Stay safe and smart folks. Don’t get suckered into doing someone else’s killing and end up becoming a political football and destroying your life.

—-
In fact, the overwhelming majority of protests have been peaceful. In most large American cities like N.Y., there has been almost no violence. Portland is an outlier. It has a large number of black bloc anarchists who have been involved in street-fighting and trashing businesses going on for a decade. Furthermore, there is a strong possibility that agent-provocateurs have played a key role in fomenting arson and other forms of property damage. Finally, there is no such thing as a “moderate rebel”. There were rebels who embraced democratic and secular goals but Assad managed to crush them with aerial bombardment, chemical warfare and starvation sieges that this website endorsed.

That disaster of a thread.
Lame improvised investigators try to reinforce their prior convictions here. But those sterile disputes won’t save the american people from their fate.
The course of events won’t be skewed unless that country asks itself why, after being that merciless world-eating anaconda that spread misery and desolation in every continent for more than a century, it mutates to the point of being a coprophagous ourouboros with laughing pretentions to eternity.
Not an easy task.

@ Posted by: Jason | Aug 29 2020 7:29 utc | 400, and others,
Like you or not, the complaint is the only document that contemplates all the primary evidence we have so far (the eye witness + the 4 videos). The other commenters here are basing their opinion entirely on the videos.
Plus, the complaint is an official document, blessed by the government itself. It’s not some random article made by a junkie reporter from a tabloid.
The complaint is clear: the kid was outside the radius of the action (near or in a parking lot), and in no occasion the eye witness mentions he was defending his own life.
There was a riot happening in the city. The kid went there with the objective to stop it. But that wasn’t the reason the two murders happened. We must separate the kid’s design (come to Kenosha, stop the riots by brute force) with the kid’s act which triggered the complaint (two people murdered, one attempt murder, in a non-riot fighting context).

Many – if not most – of Antifa members are white. Many BLM members are also white. Just search for the pictures in the newspapers and the internet in general.
It’s not a given you must be black to be part of the riots, and I’m sure the American far-right already has this well ingrained in their minds.

See and judge for yourselves. And then, if you’re impartial, you’ll see my version of the events is the correct one. Contra-Conspiraloon et caterva are delirious if they think the videos are conclusive.
You can also see from the videos the city is practically deserted when the events happened. Just kids having your classic football violence in some isolated places (e.g. a gas station). You can’t see fire anywhere. There was nothing happening in Kenosha that night, the kid – who admitted in camera he was indeed vanguard – was literally searching for people to kill.

It seems that 30-40% of the population is hardened in their position concerning the protests/police violence. One side thinks the cops can do no wrong, the other side thinks the cops are always wrong. The reality is that cops all too often commit unjustified acts of violence and get away with it, but they more often commit justified acts of violence in the name of public safety.
There are only a few likely solutions to this problem. We get the police reform we desperately need, we descend into anarchy/civil war, or the cops completely crush the protests.
The 20-40% of the people who do not have a hardened position are going to decide the direction we take.
When people protested/rioted over justifiable outrage at the violence against George Floyd or Brianna Taylor, this group was sympathetic.
When people protest for unjustifiable reasons, like the shooting of Jacob Black or the person in Minneapolis who being a suspect in a murder committed suicide as the cops closed in to arrest him, that group is going to become unsympathetic.
If people want to see reform, then they have to be more selective in what causes they protest over. Otherwise they are going to see the opposite of what they are hoping to see.
Personally, I don’t see how we reconcile these two hardened positions.

Statement from Kyle’s Lawyers
Why he was in Kenosha:

After Kyle finished his work that day as a community lifeguard in Kenosha, he wanted to help clean up some of the damage, so he and a friend went to the local public high school to remove graffiti by rioters. Later in the day, they received information about a call for help from a local business owner, whose downtown Kenosha auto dealership was largely destroyed by mob violence. The business owner needed help to protect what he had left of his life’s work, including two nearby mechanic’s shops. Kyle and a friend armed themselves with rifles due to the deadly violence gripping Kenosha and many other American cities, and headed to the business premises. The weapons were in Wisconsin and never crossed state lines.

This raises lots of questions:

  • Who was Kyle’s friend? Was it Dominic Black?
  • Is Kyle’s friend connected to militia?
  • Who is the business owner? Is he connected to Dominic Black or militia?
  • What was the nature of this “call for help”? It seems they are trying to absolve the business owner of any liability.
  • Who gave Kyle the AR-15? Dominic Black? The business owner? Someone else?

=
Why he faced the mob alone:

After the crowd passed the premises and Kyle believed the threat of further destruction had passed, he became increasingly concerned with the injured protestors and bystanders congregating at a nearby gas station with no immediate access to medical assistance or help from law enforcement. Kyle headed in that direction with a first aid kit. He sought out injured persons, rendered aid, and tried to guide people to others who could assist to the extent he could do so amid the chaos. By the final time Kyle returned to the gas station and confirmed there were no more injured individuals who needed assistance, police had advanced their formation and blocked what would have been his path back to the mechanic’s shop. Kyle then complied with the police instructions not to go back there. Kyle returned to the gas station until he learned of a need to help protect the second mechanic’s shop further down the street where property destruction was imminent with no police were nearby. As Kyle proceeded towards the second mechanic’s shop, he was accosted by multiple rioters who recognized that he had been attempting to protect a business the mob wanted to destroy. This outraged the rioters and created a mob now determined to hurt Kyle. They began chasing him down.

This story leaves many unanswered questions:

  • Why didn’t Kyle’s friend accompany him to the gas station? Especially if the threat to the property had passed so they were not obligated to remain at the property?
  • There’s no description of ANYONE that he may have helped at the gas station.
  • Is the stated police direction to not return credible? We saw how they ignored him after he had shot people in the street.

My best guess: Kyle used ‘med assistance’ as cover for recon. The protesters were angered by Kyle’s spying.
<> <> <> <> <>
I still think Kyle may have been set up – deliberately putting a 17-year old kid put into a situation where he was likely to be targeted by protesters with the expectation that Kyle or a protester(s) would be killed.
Kyle’s new free-of-charge lawyers are likely to be more interested in protecting the militia than Kyle.

Yes, completely so. There’s actually recorded video of them doing so. I know cos I’ve seen it.
So, after he was separated from his friends the brave mob thought they had themselves an easy target and ever so bravely started to hunt him down, en masse.
This is all easy for any competent defence attorney to demonstrate in a court room in front of a jury of non-idealogue (i.e.: sane /non-demented) normal everyday law-abiding Kenoshan citizens, due to the amount of available video evidence.
His chances in front of a jury composed of
non-idealogue (i.e.: sane /non-demented) normal everyday law-abiding Kenoshan citizens, are looking quite good

OMG! Militia member (Dominic Black?) directs Kyle to leave the property they are guarding to see if people got hurt
The video that Smith linked to @Aug29 7:35 #401 contains a portion of the McGinniss video that has not been published on McGinniss’ twitter account.
The relevant part starts at 5:28.
It shows a Militia member directing Kyle to leave the property they are guarding to see if people got hurt.
This guy’s close proximity to Kyle and Kyle’s easy reference to this guy (“me and him are helping”) lead me to believe that this militia guy is ‘friend’ referred to by Kyle’s lawyers and likely to be the Dominic Black – the guy that Kyle called after he shot his first victim.
Directing this 17-year old kid to go off on his own supports my theory that Kyle Rittenhouse was set up.

Dude, stop lying. I literally just posted the video here. It cuts straight to the action and definitely doesn’t show the whole episode.
The mob is not even by a stretch of imagination showing it will kill him. They are just a bunch of teenagers fooling around, doing your basic midnight street violence. Most of them are keeping well over 10 feet of distance from the kid, just spooking him. The only people who approach him at arms length were the two shot plus two or three more, and they were not nearly indicating they were going to beat him to death.
The kid is probably just a redneck who’s never seen the real world in his life. He overreacted and needlessly shot two random street thugs who also wanted to see some midnight street action.
And even then, the whole “sitting on his butt” episode only happened AFTER he killed, cold blood, the first man. So he can’t claim self-defense for the first murder.

The lawyer will tell whatever he need to to free his client. His version of the story is clearly an invention, aimed more to create empathy towards the public (and to an eventual jury) than to prove his legal innocence.
You know how trials work in the USA. It’s a shit show. See the recent imbroglio between actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, so see the spectacle of invented and mutually exclusive versions of events. Also, see the Kenosha police union’s absurd version, which changed the whole story.

You guys are funny.
Kyle didn’t go Kenosha on his own as some wannabe cop / cowboy as some initially suspected.
And he didn’t just volunteer on his own to protect property. He was with a friend. And if that friend was a much older man and militia member (someone that young Kyle might look up to) then this 17-year old may have done so due to his influence and direction.
And, according to Kyle’s attorney, someone in Wisconsin armed 17-year old Kyle. An action that is against Wisconsin law. It’s reasonable to assume that it was his friend that did so if that friend is a militia member.
Now we have proof of Kyle acting at the direction of a much older militia member at the protest/riot.
How you can dismiss this is beyond me. I didn’t say that I was certain. But there are a lot of important questions raised with this new info.

Speaking of petit-bourgeois elite, this is the reason the riots died down:
Arrests for violating curfew rise in Kenosha
The curfew arrested dozens of people – most of them for simply violating the time limit.
However, as the aerial footage of the “damage” in Kenosha clearly and beyond reasonable doubt show, the riots, if much, burned down just six or seven small deposits. In other words, damage was minimal, and, by all chance, those riots were not really riots, but just a bunch of rowdy teenagers and ex-convicts doing their party in the vacuum of of BLM peaceful protests – which, by the way, are only happening in Kenosha during daytime, not nighttime (because, you know, they are not stupid).
The Kenosha News is a tiny, local newspaper. As such, they open their op-ed space for locals to express their opinion. This came out today:
Writer: Editorial wrong, focus instead on failings of local leaders

Your editorial on the governor’s response in “Is It Too Little, Too Late?” was wholly irresponsible and reads as political bashing. It completely takes away the responsibility of Kenosha’s law enforcement agencies and government officials and their response.
Sheriff Beth stated in his press conference that the state had approved all requests they sent for assistance. How about you focus on our local community leaders and what they could or should have done in the aftermath of the Blake shooting.
This does nothing to help our community come together and try to fix things and move forward. I think the Editorial Board and Kenosha News can do better.
William Robinson
Kenosha

[NOTE: the Kenosha News was officially in favor of federal intervention]
If that’s true, then why did the local government asked for Trump for federal assistance?
Apparently, the Kenosha police has all the means necessary to control the situation. But it chose not to do it.
My guess is this was a PR coup by a Trumpist local government to try to prop up Trump at the November elections. They amplified, through the media, the “riots”, so it would appear like a civil war was happening in the “heartland”, thus preparing the terrain for the RNC convention (which focused on the cultural wars).
As for “rebuilding the city”, it’s simple: just call your insurance company to cover for the damage, which was negligible (as the aerial footage shows).

The problem with carrying a weapon is that its presence creates a threat to your safety.
The problem with molesting a person with a weapon particularly as part of a violent group is you become fair game for shooting.
It does not make sense to have boys roaming streets with firearms and does not make sense to allow groups to terrorize your citizens reapeatly, openly and at length.
The goverment failed in its responsibilty.
The “victims” receive about what they should expect.
Hope the boys walks fairly summarily.
Hope there is justice in the case of the man shot in the back repeatly by police – that is the issue in this case and that is where Trump could stand up but likely will choose to snipe from sidelines.

Richie McGinniss is asked directly about the the possibility of Kyle having “militia affiliation” and what he knows about “the other people that were in the area” but McGinniss sidesteps the question.
When he hears the question about “militia affiliation” McGinniss blinks several times and takes a deep breathe.
McGinniss doesn’t mention the direction of the seasoned militia guy (Dominic Black?), which is clearly evident in the video portion that McGinniss is withholding.
During his non-answer, McGinniss stresses that Kyle was very innocent and does realize the situation that he’s in. I think the militia considered Kyle innocence a feature, not a bug.
Also: McGinniss has still not made public his entire interview with Kyle.

Trump relocated the National Guard to Wisconsin to end the multi-day riots in Kenosha with deaths and injuries, as well as the inability of local authorities and police to take control of the situation.
The popular Mexico-based Telegram channel Nachos has called for a fight against tyranny and has started publishing the addresses of the families of National Guard soldiers. Former Seattle Autonomous Zone leadership candidate Raz Simone said he did not view Trump as a legitimate president and demanded to initiate negotiations with himself on a peaceful transfer of power. The European Union condemned the use of force against peaceful protesters and promised to consider imposing sanctions against Trump, members of his family and the leadership of the US security forces.

See the videos (which I linked here). The kid was interviewed and showed full clarity of his function inside the militia, and a clear idea of basic guerrilla warfare/anti-riot warfare. He knows his job is is hunt down rioters (he did the interview before he killed his first victim).
It’s very unlikely he was used as a lightning rod for the far-right. And, if he was, he knew he was (the kid is 17 but could well be 18 or 22; age is not a factor here).

I disagree. I think the kid was used for recon and as bait. I don’t think the kid understood this.
I think the kid idolized police/militia as father figures (because his mom is single parent).
IMO there’s a good chance that the militia is manipulating him and using him for their own purposes. And the more that Kyle’s affiliation to militia is covered up, the more likely it appears to be true.

I think McGinniss and/or BuzzFeedNews may have been threatened.
That’s why McGinniss doesn’t want to mention the direction that the militia guy gives to Kyle. Instead he talks about how innocent Kyle was. Essentially telling us that he was easily manipulated and likely WAS being manipulated.
I expect that we’ll learn more about the militia involvment over coming days and weeks.

In the Rittenhouse case it was clearly self defence.

Jason @400–
In the article I linked to comparing 1968 with today, it acknowledged there was even a pandemic aspect–the Hong Kong or Mao Flu–that killed over 100K US citizens but never became a political issue. Why? Because the other political issues were killing even more, just as they do today. On the open thread, I copy/pasted the synopsis for the linked Keiser Report because it said straight up how the younger generations are being robbed by the Fed. Here’s the relevant section again:
“The bargain that has been struck over the past few decades is a terrible deal: the Fed says, “Our money printing actions will make everything (homes, cars, education, etc) more expensive for you than it was for your parents. BUT, the bargain is we will give you ever-cheaper credit to buy these things.” [Emphasis original]
IMO, that’s financial rape and its POLICY!!!! Yet, there’s zero discussion because it’s being covered up by the violence which is an outgrowth of that policy, just as in 1968, although the Fed didn’t do that then as other Red Lining policies had done a great job of keeping all minorities down and trapped in their ghettos. The injustices of the past have yet to be rectified and the response to the pandemic shows that there’re no plans to alter the status quo. Yet the Sneetches keep paying the man to add or remove the stars from their bellies (Yes, it’s Dr. Seuss from long ago–1961) and they all end up bankrupt while the man carts away their money. Only when they’re all destitute do they realize they all share a common existence and finally join together as one community. The Class War manipulators will use every tool at their disposal to keep the masses from attacking them, and they continue to be successful regardless of the attempts by some of us to enlighten said masses as to their genuine plight. And it’s that message the trolls seek to derail, to slander and libel, to twist words and attempt to discredit, and as such they display the filth they roll in with their minds and bodies and the utter evilness that resides within their beings–Trolls are Ogres and Ogres Eat People!

Ohhh, another Antifa criminal useful idiot sounding off. Kyle R. act was just the beginning. He was trying to the work that the puppets in charge denied the society. That is why he will have the sympathy of the silent majority. But that silence as you can see is about to be awakened.
You and the rest of the criminal army are on notice. Try to to destroy this country and who knows what will happen to you?
What is total bullshit is how a bunch of criminal flunkies are trying to do the work of their paymasters to the detriment of our society. But if you thought this was the end of it, you are in for a surprise.
This country has many problems. Corrupt politicians and oligarchs down to Police brutality and racism are issue that it will be dealt with in time. Right now, we need to take out the garbage.
I guess it was just a matter of time before Antifa infiltrated this blog.

My Prediction: Trump Loses and Accepts the Results
My gut tells me Trump will lose and ultimately accept the results. He will only try to cling to power if he feels he has powerful allies that can likely get him though a one hell of (probably violent) shitstorm. But, no significant wealthy segments of American Society has much to gain from the unrest of a disputed election result and I just don’t see (not yet, at least) the significant amount of grassroots popular mobilization that would be needed to keep him in office during such a crisis.
Historically, civil wars have been fought in one of two contexts: (1) 2 competing elite groups (The Revolutionary and Civil Wars in the US, or the English Civil War of 1642-1651) or (2) a mass mobilized popular insurrection against the entire (or most of) the existing ruling class (China, Russia, etc.).
Let’s dispel with the second possibility off the bat. Despite the images of “heavily armed white militias” making the rounds in liberal media outlets, we must remember that this represents a small segment of society. I can’t imagine more than 5 percent (even that number seems high) of assault-weapon owners willing to risk it all. Any minor insurrectionist flare ups can be easily mopped up.
More importantly, America’s elite have nothing to gain from the unrest that would follow a disputed election. With the economy already on life-support, the uncertainty spawned by a disputed election would lead global investors to seriously question the safe haven status of America’s debt and currency. The recent greenback declines will pail in comparison. Besides, corporate American has nothing much to fear from a Biden / Harris win: a slightly higher corporate tax rate (which could also just be campaign rhetoric to draw in progressives) is nothing to go to war over. America’s most dynamic sector, Silicon Valley Tech, is explicitly pro-Democrat. Aside from being well-capitalized they have the coveted advantage of shaping our everyday subjectivity by increasingly deciding what content we are not permitted to access on their platforms. Any disputed election will certainly be met by an unprecedented wave of social media purges, flagged tweets, removal of “fake news.” In other words, outright suppression.
Trump still commands the backing of a sizable minority on Wall Street. But their support for him ends the moment their investments are imperiled. Trump’s Wall Street buddies (think Mnuchin, Kudlow, and a few blowhards on CNBC) will abandon him if he doesn’t accept the results. Traditional Republican stalwarts, the coal industry, small to medium manufacturers, and much of oil and gas sector’s supply chain have seen their fortunes further deteriorate under Trump’s watch. At best, his re-election would signal a slightly slower crawl to death (or at best, irrelevance) for these industries: hardly a cause for them to rally around. It is therefore unlikely that any deep-pocketed segment has much to gain from the civil violence that could unfold following a disputed election.
Most likely, after losing the electoral college vote, Trump will stew in the loss for a few days, refusing to concede, basking in the media coverage (national and international) of the most serious American constitutional crisis in living memory. But then the “calls” will start coming into the Oval Office. Leaders of the corporate world will admonish Trump to be a big boy and accept the results fair and square (perhaps with a promise to come down to Mar-a-Lago soon and play a round of golf). There will also be veiled threats from the military and intelligence agencies along the lines of “we can’t guarantee your security if this gets out of hand.”
A few days later, he will hold a pouty press conference, complaining about how the fake news media lies and how his 4 years in office were the best America has seen. But then…he’ll go.
Come January 2021, a Democrat will be inaugurated…count on it.
Please prove me wrong.

Your predictions at this point is a 50/50 proposition. Not much of a prediction now, is it?
But let’s say you are your predictions come true. Do you have any idea what will happen to us and the world at large in the event of that unfortunate prediction? The DNC and these candidates are the property of the Clintons and their paymasters. You might as well have elected Killary.
With that election, you also elect to consent to a global war within the next 5 years. Say what you want about Trump. Trust me, I have had many choice words for him as well. But, facts are facts. He has resisted every call, every cunning maneuver to start another war. Take your choice: Iran, North Korea, China……..He called out Covid scam for what it was. He truthfully stated the Lebanon event as a bomb attack. And etc.
He made many U-turns from his campaign promises and the only thing I can think of is that someone has him by the balls and squeezes when necessary.
Since our elections are always a choice between syphillis or gonorrhea , the less painful and more treatable diseases should be the choice. Right now democrats are worse than cancer. Appreciate all the ideologue righteousness but In pragmatic terms, especially now, is a fairytale. Let’s stick to reality.

Thank for the link. Nice video and very clear and articulate. In the first shooting you clearly hear shots from a pistol before the AR. That is pistol shot from that other felon Gaige. Ballistic examination of that gun will confirm shots fired. More than likely the combination of shots and grabbing the rifle precipitated Kyle’s action.
I dont care what any of these bleeding heart/Antifa sympathizers say. Kyle exercised great restrained and clearly he wasn’t there for fun night of shooting. On the final shooting of the armed felon, he only shot him once and deemed the threat neutralized. A police in that situation would have emptied a whole magazine until he was dead three times.
Jackrabbit with his great forensic skills surmised that because he was wearing gloves he was trying to hide his prints. Never mind that there is video evidence of the whole thing. I guess in his mind without a print, you cant prove he was the shooter. Funny stuff. Medical gloves as oppose to tactical gloves like the others, was for treating people and his medical kit that he was carrying and was shown during the McGinnis interview.

The character of the kid is completely irrelevant here (unless you’re trying to forge him as some kind of alt-right hero/Jesus Christ). The point is all evidence indicate there wasn’t any BLM/Antifa marches and riots going on that night, and that he shot two random street dwellers who managed to be as stupid as him.
The whole episode – bravery or cowardice, constraint or recklessness – was completely unnecessary. The kid tried to do a “seek and destroy” operation when none was needed (the curfew was already declared, the people in the streets were already being arrested). It was all for show, that militia is no damn militia, just a bunch of posers.

I posted the video before, and you posted a version with “comments” again.
Your version of events are definitely not corroborated by the video you say is evidence. It doesn’t show the kid being “cut off” from this LoC, at all. The video is a close caption that begins well into the pursuit – you don’t know (and can’t know) if the kid went berserk into the “mob” or if he was indeed cut off from the battle line (and I’m being generous here with the use of the term, because the city was definitely almost deserted by that moment).
The only source we have between the first murder and the “pursuit” is the witness McGinnis, who said the boy, in despair, ran northwards, during which a mob begun to naturally form as people begun to scream he had shot a man. This is certainly not a “cut off” in warfare terms, rather, the boy simply committed the extremely stupid mistake of running on the open through the middle of the city (he crossed the entire downtown, north to south), instead of hiding in a corner.
You’re fantasizing about a far-right hero fighting against LBBTQ+ horde in hostile territory, which definitely didn’t happen. The Kenosha BLM is doing all its protests during daytime, as is documented in the Kenosha News.
That is, unless you were there, and are a member of said “militia”. If them, reveal yourself, and tell your version of the facts you saw that night.

I have seen photos from that night with at least 3 different pistol wielding “protestors”. So there were likely more weapon-carrying “protestors” than the 3 photographed
Theres no evidence so far that Grosskreutz fired when Rittenhouse was being attacked by Rosenbaum. Could have easily been any of the others photographed with pistols.
When Rittenhouse was on the ground he was kicked in the head by a black guy, (who was not shot). I have seen the same black guy in a photograph, in the company of and clearly associated with another handgun-carrying black guy, on the night in question.

Yes, I agree with what you have written. What is frustrating is I see no solution. Maybe if things get bad the survival instinct will kick in and humans will rapidly evolve into creatures of higher consciousness, the communal nature that led us to be the apex species will subconsciously push our psyches into the realization we are all in this together and our behaviors will adjust accordingly.
In the current political context I don’t see how anything good comes about. Biden or Trump basically representing two different groups of elites fighting for control of the empire. Ultimately most of those elites will be fine no matter who wins. The trick for them is as you say, funneling the discontent towards the “other side” which is in reality what should be the “same side.” This strategy has been ongoing since the last ice age and shows no signs of abating. Maybe it will take the ongoing climate disaster to change that? As long as things don’t go nuclear humanity still has a chance.

The fact that the three people shot were all convicted felons is very telling. If you used them as a random sampling of the rioters, pretty much says that 30-40% were there with a criminal record.
Now, who would be able to find and recruit these criminals? Who can organize and train them in urban warfare and instigating tactics? Somebody with access to federal database and having expert personnel in training in warfare. And finally, who does it all benefit? THE DNC and their paymasters. Period.
The conservatives are just as corrupt too. Trump and the rest of the looney tunes in the government right now, are not any better. But at least, some of them are trying to thwart this madness.
Once this is all is over, we have to get rid of the both parties and start over again.

JR’s antics in this thread as nearly as loony as vk’s

I’ve critized vk myself. See my comment @Aug29 1:28 #358.
You and Alpi are trying to shout down the real issues with this shooting:

  1. The kid didn’t need to be there

Any adults (militia members / Dominic Black?) that invited him there were irresponsible at best.

  2. The kid should not have been armed – WHO ARMED HIM?

    – It’s illegal for a 17-year old to carry a rifle in Wisconsin.
    – If his purpose is to provide medical aid, he doesn’t need to be armed.

  3. Why is the kid protecting property? How is he in any way qualified to do so?

He says in the McGinniss interview that it’s his “job” and he says on the RT video that he’s “working” at that property.

  4. Why is the kid under the direction of the militia?

It reasonable to ask if this impressionable kid was being used for recon or to bait Antifa.

  5. What is the relationship between the militia and Kenosha PD?

Why was the kid allowed to walk by after a shooting?

<> <> <> <> <>
Three people shot, two dead. By a 17-year old otherwise did nothing useful that night. There were plenty of militia there so the extra gun wasn’t necessary. And no one needed medical attention (besides the people that the kid shot).
By associating with the militia and carrying a gun, the kid drew attention of Antifa. Is that what the militia wanted/expected?
The kid was put into harms way by the militia that directed him. He’s lucky to be alive. He came within a split second of being killed. He lives only because the Antifa guy with a handgun hesitated for a split second.
!!

Posted by: Jackrabbit | Aug 29 2020 22:28 utc | 466

This isn’t the greatest thread to come marching into.
But I will just posit that the kid is running away beacuse he does not want to have his gun taken from him.
To anyone standing alone on the other side of an unruly mob, I imagine you would feel that your life is indeed endangered what with little police enforcement and with the potential of feeling stripped naked when your defensive weapon is taken from you.
This is basic psychology and why there are those not offering a shred of credit to the kid who was running away from the mob no doubt because he feared that the above could occur (he is caught, weapon stripped, roughed up, and potentially killed) is proof that all of this political footballing will continue with the hope that anyone defending themselves will be proven the aggressor and indeed proof of the scourge that is the DJT-phenomenon.
It’s very clear to many posters that this is the case with those defending the rights of the mob to assault someone and potentially strip them of their defensive weapon.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Pretty simple to me.
To the anti-gun amongst us, just wait a little while to see how valuable gun ownership is in the defense of the common man against rampaging mobs and the government which looks the other way. This was but a taste. There will be more of it, fo sho.

Actually JR, the kid lived because he clearly knew how to use his weapon effectively under extreme pressure and stress. That’s a provable fact given that he was economical in the use of his weapon, under extreme provocation, and all the shots he fired hit their intended targets. No innocent bystanders were shot by the Kenosha Kid.
This fact also provides plausible and possible answers to several of the other questions you asked.
If the Kenosha PD had shown a fraction of the restraint and grace under pressure which the Kenosha Kid showed on the night in question, there’d likely have been no riots at all, and the child-rapist, the armed robber and the domestic abuser would all now be free to continue their child-raping, domestic abuse and armed robbery careers
“The kid didn’t need to be there”
No one “needed” to be there JR. Absolutely no one, with the possible exception of the police since being there was their job, “needed” to be there.
That includes the 3 guys shot by Rittenhouse as well as every other “protestor”, militia person etc.

I hear you. I sat at the sidelines reading for a while. But there seems to be a very sinister agenda in play here with many of the commenters and is hard to ignore. They are directly or indirectly advocating destruction of our country and opposing someone standing up to the criminals. What they don’t know is that Kyle Rittenhaus is quickly becoming the symbol of awakening and resistance to Antifa and the Democrats who are neck deep in this and directing the show.
“…… he feared that the above could occur (he is caught, weapon stripped, roughed up, and potentially killed)…..”
Do you think for one second that if gotten hold of by 1) a repeat and violent pedophile, 2) a repeat domestic violence offender and 3) a felon with an illegal handgun, that this kid would have stand a chance coming out of this alive? These criminals had their marching orders and they were taken out in self-defense. I applaud the kid. All of this started when Kyle put out a trash fire destined to blow up the gas station that was started by the pedophile and cascaded from there.
What is most disturbing, is that most of the Antifa sympathizers posing as concerned citizens/intelligent posters here, do not mention once in their comments about these three felons and their criminal record and the strange fact that they were there and involved in the attacks that night. They just mention them as people. So convenient.

Not sure how important this may be …
… but no one has yet noticed/mentioned it
Soon after Rittenhouse falls in the middle of the road, an armed man is seen on the sidewalk by the panning camera.
We see another armed man
in the RT video close to the same place.
Were these the same guy? Was he accompanying the photographer/videographer or is he militia?
Who was the photographer? (He looks a bit like Richie McGinniss but McGinniss was helping the first victim and went to the hospital with him.)

Now, who would be able to find and recruit these criminals? Who can organize and train them in urban warfare and instigating tactics? Somebody with access to federal database and having expert personnel in training in warfare. And finally, who does it all benefit? THE DNC and their paymasters. Period.

C-C , you sound like Rittenhouse’s only failure was to not kill all the protesters.
The guys that chased him had guts to try and stop a gunslinging punk.
The guy with the gun probably hesitated because he wasn’t really into cowboys and injuns.
Why would this person take a loaded assault weapon to a protest unless somewhere in that demented head he knew who the bad guys were and he was gonna show em?
Or do you and the other defenders always take a loaded AR15 with you just in case?

Yep, you caught me. Everybody there that night was in my payroll. And the judge and the juri who’ll trial the kid (who’s also my asset, I paid him USD 69.00 + a non-diet Coke) are also in my pockets.
And, I mean, it only makes sense to hire ex-felons to wander into the night of a city, right? At least I got that cultural factor correct, didn’t I? It made sense to me, as ex-felons rarely are reintegrated into American public life, so I wanted to give it a more realistic touch to the riots.
Actually, none of the people involved in the Kenosha Fuck Up (yes, that’s the name of the operation we used) are even Americans! Crazy, right? The police officers aren’t Americans. Jacob Blake isn’t American (he’s a Jamaican I hired when in vacations in Cuba…). That militia? Also fake: none of them Americans (they’re Russians and Canadians). Those teenagers burning some barns in that shithole of a city are just some postmodern artists leftists I hired from Western Europe and NYC, so, no Americans there either.
Damn it! If it wasn’t for the pair of geniuses of MoA, Alpi, Contra-Conspiraloon, I would’ve never get caught!
On a side note: I also secretly own Elma Chips. Hence the free PR for Doritos.

He never should’ve been placed in a situation where he had to use it.

No one “needed” to be there JR.
All of the reasons that Rittenhouse gives for being there fail to actually show any need for him to be there: he wasn’t legal able to carry a gun; he wasn’t qualified to protect property; and no one needed medical help.
A medic doesn’t need to be armed. Rittenhouse wants to be armed because he wants to play cop. And the militia use Rittenhouse’s earnestness to make him into bait.

In the video you linked https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&t=56&v=eLlUVxVLiLU at 2:46 the interviewer claims, after Rosenbaum is shot dead, but before Rittenhouse falls in the street, he heard Rittenhouse saying ‘I didn’t shoot anybody”
If true it would mean someone else shot Rosenbaum and would also mean that the video being shared on this thread earlier which claimed to have audio of Rittenhous ite saying on his telephone “I shot someone’ is a complete fabrication, a deliberate deception

“Now, who would be able to find and recruit these criminals? Who can organize and train them in urban warfare and instigating tactics? Somebody with access to federal database and having expert personnel in training in warfare.”
I do think you are on to something, there appears to be similar organizing tactics as to what the Hong Rioters and other Color Coup “protesters” use, and like those other “protesters” there demands are ambiguous, impractical, and take place outside of the democratic process. Trained agitators, perhaps.
Trained in urban warfare? Not so much, or if so they need better trainers.
I don’t know how this benefits the DNC unless it is their intention to lose the midwestern states? The DNC is infested with NeoCons, and one of the trademarks of a NeoCon is extreme incompetence, so perhaps it is purely incompetence.
Since the NeoCon mission is to destroy any actual leftism (of which there is little in the USA), perhaps there is a strategy to paint the rioters as leftists, and use the publics discontent with the chaos to make sure the political levers that control the machinations of the DNC remain in the hands of the corporate right? If so, this could play out like Germany in the 30’s, which ultimately won’t work out well for the NeoCons.

His being a convicted armed robber already demonstrates his desire for playing “cowboys ‘n injuns”.
He just wasn’t very good at it, as his prior conviction for armed robbery, not to mention the big hole he now has in his right arm, amply demonstrates

It took a while, but the inhabitants of Kenosha finally smarted up and/or grew a pair and begun to do the obvious:
Armed neighborhood watch group forms to protect Kenosha subdivision
Yeah… looks like outsourcing the job to an unknown “militia” which employed underage, obese kids was not a good idea, after all.
–//–
This is the real “BLM”:
IN PHOTOS: ‘Justice for Jacob’ march and demonstration
You what will result from these peaceful demonstrations?
Imagine one of those ex-marines going to dinner, in the comfort of his property, in a suburb of Kenosha. His son will ask after prayer: “dad, why did mr. Blake have to die?”
To which his father will answer: “I know, son, that was very unfortunate. Very unfortunate”.
But then, after a brief pause: “but you know what, son? That filthy nigger deserved. He deserved every single bullet to his filthy back. The world is now – with the bless of God – a better place. Those honored cops made the world a better place, did God’s work”.
That’s why – because of people like Alpi, Contra-Conspiraloon, NemesisCalling – the protests are violent. Everybody knows to read between the lines in the age of the internet now.

    “That filthy nigger”

And then dishonestly attributing it to anyone opposing him
Since vk can’t find real world examples of such language, like the liar he is , he just invents it from thin air.

The mistake is that he ran out into the open.
Better to stand his ground at the businesses he was helping to defend then run out into the open like a bunny caught by pincering wolves. But those pursuing should have had the intelligence to let him away lest something erupt like what indeed happened. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
But he was indeed running away and this is not the best position to be in while carrying a rifle, which is itself not the best close-quarter weapon to be carrying.
It’s a tragedy born of folly but not surprising given what is allowed to keep happening in our streets.
Re: vk’s “alt-right” comment.
Sure, you can use some buzz words if that’s what you need to understand a foreign situation from a different country. But I’ll just keep chalking it up as sophomoric analysis.
Non-Americans really shouldn’t be butting into our affairs. I already feel bad for foreign nationals who read this blog and have to be subjected to endless head-slapping shenaningans from the good ol’ U.S.A. i really want our country to behave like a real country, and this in turn might provide other nationals the opportunity to be self-reflective instead of taking out their entire basket full of misery upon Americans, who deserve very little of their ire. We are generous and hard-working, just a little too trusting of our military-adventurism, and this is largely due to Protestants. But I am not even sure that these events are slowing our militaristic spread around the globe, either, contrary to what you might be hoping. Hardly any Fed presence or expense. POTUS is giving them rope and local governments are hanging themselves.
I’m ambivalent about the situation because destroying family businesses is a tragedy but having POTUS win in 2020 is worth it.

Richard Steven Hack @356, thanks for three links which really didn’t prove anything at all. I’ll just go with a quote from the third one:
“…Australia and Great Britain made extensive changes in gun policy in response to mass shootings two decades ago, and there has only been one mass shooting in either place since…”
The first link you gave me had a good chart at the start of the article showing that indeed, gun shootings were declining before the buy back took place, and (even more ‘indeed’) they continued to decline steeply after the buy backs up until 2016, end of chart. And apparently, according to the third (sorry, didn’t get a date on that as it jammed up with colorful nonsequitors so that I couldn’t read it) as already mentioned, one mass shooting has occurred since the buy backs. That’s too bad but I’d say they had a good effect on an already decreasing one.
If you have a chart showing that shootings have increased, I didn’t see a mention of that in any of the articles, nor a chart to that effect.

Hardly. Looking at that lengthy video, I counted 21 shots fired at the first location, where the first person was killed. Then, when he was still standing near the spot where he tripped and fell, he fired multiple shots back in the direction from which he had come. Apparently, none of those shots hit anyone.
Remember what the interviewer said of him — that he was not very good at handling his weapon.

Yet clearly Kyle WAS ‘with them’.

There were numerous weapons being carried by both “protestors” and militia on the night in question. Handguns and rifles. And numerous weapon-discharge sounds, from more than one weapon, were heard on the night in question. An astute observer viewing those videos can easily tell from the different sounds that more than one weapon was being discharged. Clearly you’re not that astute an observer

Good. Let him take his eye-witness testimony to the authorities.
Richie McGinniss – who interviewed Kyle Rittenhouse before any shooting (so he knew who he was by sight) was at the first shooting and identified Kyle as the shooter.
McGinniss is much more credible. And his testemony is backed up by video evidence of Kyle being chased and then coming back to check on the man that he shot – just as McGinniss describes.
And the official complaint accepts McGinniss’ version of events.

This kid is either the worst shot in the world, or the luckiest murder-accussed in existence, OR you’re simply wrong in claiming he’s fired all those shots you heard on video

I’m not caught up on this thread yet, (still on page 4), but I do want to thank karlof1 for the ’68 comparison, and james for pointing out that karlof1 was a teen then (kudos for handing out those flyers, what a good memory but how traumatic for you the events of ’68, for both of you!). Canada wasn’t a far country then, with the overlap of antiwar young people from this country finding sanctuary there.
I didn’t realize why this is such a charged thread – very many would also have that ’68 feeling, when so much went really really wrong in this country. So, just to give a sense of the generational stretch, I was a young wife and mother in Chicago in ’68. The tragedies happened while we were preparing to travel back west, but we were still there till just before the convention. As we took to the road, me driving the VW bug, and hubbie the U-Haul, we passed carload after carload on the other side of Route 66, balloons and signs, young folk like us heading for confrontations, beatings, chaos at the Democratic Convention. I can never forget it. We were just old enough not to be caught up in the draft, and you, karlof1, were too young. We reached our New Mexico destination; we watched Chicago as if it were a far off planet, from the mountain tranquillity of our new home.
My generation is just younger than the one most at risk and dying from covid, though it hits all ages. And the one most at risk is the generation many of whom were directly affected as would be warriors or as warriors themselves, or wives of warriors in that dreadful war. What a historical convergence!
No wonder it is all very hard to deal with rationally. So very much has happened, and happened back then.
