2020 Presidential Election Thread 05

There is a debate tonight.

Matt Taibbi has some thoughts about it:

Bernie’s Last Chance
Heading into a one-on-one debate with Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders should not go gentle into that good night

Please keep anything related to the election in this thread.

Sharmine Narwani's twitter response to Tulsi's endorsement of Biden. Lose-lose

Sharmine to Tulsi

Circe @203:

As if your hero/demigod won't endorse Biden? Give me -- and us all -- a break.

Sanders has already said he'd support Biden, that, IMO, isn't the issue. For me, the ultimate capitulation by Bernie, would be for him to implore his minions to support Biden, that, would be the last straw for me, and my support for him. And, by the way, would totally confirm Jrabbit's assessment that he is a total "sheep dog".

Damn shame, say I, but reality is reality.

Tim Black’s reaction to Gabbard endorsing Biden (vid, 10:08).

Posted by: S | Mar 20 2020 5:08 utc | 204

Biden responds to Tulsi's endorsement:

@TulsiGabbard has put her life on the line in service of this country and continues to serve with honor today. I’m grateful to have her support ...

Such a sweet message for a candidate that was virtually ignored by the establishment for much of the race? And a candidate that has butted heads with Queen Bee Hillary?

... and look forward to working with her to restore honor and decency to the White House.

Awww... Joe wants to work with Tulsi. Isn't that nice?

She helps him to mask his dishonor and indecency.

Jackrabbit #207:

Awww... Joe wants to work with Tulsi. Isn't that nice?

I’m sure her hair smells great.

S @ 208; LMAO!

If Andrew Yang, Elizabeth Warren and Tulsi Gabbard had endorsed Bernie Sanders before Super Tuesday, Bernie Sanders wouldn't be at this crossroads, he'd be giving Biden a run for his money.

Those three amigos were in it for themselves, not for people, not for Progressives but for themselves. They disgust me.

Reviving '70s Church of the SubGenius. If you assume the SubGenius is behind most of what's going on, it makes much sense.

Was wrong about Hillary; Biden is going to pick Michelle as his V.P., although they have to tease and build suspense in the script, so it won't be revealed until much later as the convention kabuki progresses. Biden has been The Anointed One all along. He had to come from behind and be the underdog. Bernie has been the sheepdog; hattips here, didn't see it.

Michelle will pull a Cheney and govern from behind as the eminently grisée. The SubGenius will oversee the world, and make sure it spins well. They may drone on a bit in meetings, but stuff will get done.

This will be payback for all that birther nonsense.

The SubGenius, like a quiet whale, does not leave fingerprints anywhere. He works in mysterious ways. If you assume the SubGenius is behind Ukraine; Skripals; the email servers; Steele; RussiaGate; ImpeachGate; Hillary's actions; and why Clapper and so many others have never been investigated, then it all comes together rather neatly. The kayfabe kabuki script has been entertaining, said sincerely with admiration, and really very nicely done.

Well, someone has to run the world, so it might as well be him.

The interesting question is, Who is behind The SubGenius?.

You know I'm sick and tired of reading that Bernie should bail out graciously and that he's being selfish and yada-yada.

FU to all that! And I'm glad Bernie got pissed and used the F word when Manu Raju was poking and prodding to pressure him on behalf of CNN.

Judging Bernie as hurting Biden for taking his time is real rich coming from the Democratic Party infidels and media shysters who conspired to railroad his campaign when ordinary, average people were financing it! I really take exception with that level of unmitigated hypocrisy! Democrats rushed in to prop up Biden before Super Tuesday and now the pandemic rushed in to slow things down and Bernie must be slow too--to leave the race! He is being given a moment and should seize it.

Bernie must not get out of the race. Primaries are being postponed. Too bad for the DNC and good for Bernie. Bernie should take center stage with the pandemic fighting for M4A, demonstrating how necessary it is, and how under-preparedness for a pandemic is dwarfed by under-preparedness for Global Warming disaster.

Bernie must hang in for the common good and shut out the stupid noise. Bernie gets what this time is all about. Reality is proving him right and everyone else wrong. Bernie can beat Trump by a mile especially now that Trump lost his economic horn to toot. All market gains have been completely erased, employment gains will be erased and Trump will be remembered as the most incompetent President in history, and he'll deserve every minutiae of infamy for the disgrace that he's been! Karma's catching up with the braggart blowhard Chosen Ziofascist.

Bernie is taking his time because he knows that Biden is wrong on so many levels for the job. He had terrible judgment in the past and his brain function has not improved with the years. He does not have the good judgment and courage a true leader requires, especially now, to implement all that is required to confront the pressing challenges of this era.

Bernie hang in and be a voice for people affected by the pandemic and so much more.

He must not allow those who railroaded his campaign again to push him out! Let them stew and squirm in their failed presumption. Bernie is doing what he needs to do. He's dealing with a f*cking global crisis! No way should he get out, especially now.
