WAKE UP BERNIE! There IS a movement and it has been yours to lead for a while, but it is not yours to surrender again to the Dame Named Clinton! It isn’t your movement Bernie, it’s the Labor Movement, the Civil Rights Movement, the Antiwar Movement and Occupy Wall Street. Your leadership has been utterly vanquished by the above mentioned DNC and you might think that it’s your prerogative call for retreat and another four years of organizing and rebuilding, but you do not have that right! There is another valiant leader ready and able to continue, and she is still in the fight. Tulsi has stood with you all the way and has suffered every calumny fired against you and much much more, including, sadly from your own lieutenants. There’s no need for retreat and rebuilding, the Movement is there now; it is strong and it needs to be led! You may not ask this Movement to stand by and wait for said DNC to inform you of to whom she wishes to entrust its destruction. WAKE UP!

Obviously DNC electoral shenanigans played a major role in Bernie’s astonishing — and surprising — defeats earlier this week, but I’d like to suggest another reason, namely coronavirus.
This may seem counterintuitive, because wouldn’t people flock to the candidate promoting real healthcare in a time of pandemic crisis?
Not in the USA, which is at its heart (I use that term sarcastically) a libertarian dog-eat-dog society. The majority wants affordable quality healthcare, but doesn’t want to pay for anyone else’s healthcare. There’s also the reasonable suspicion that paying our depraved and corroded government for any service is money wasted. It was Margaret Thatcher who said there is no such thing as society; Ronald Reagan, if he’d been sentient enough, could’ve said it first, and now that Reaganism has infected both parties beyond cure, we are seeing the results. Bernie represents, however inconsistently and poorly, an attitude toward government that recognizes its duty to nurture society — and Americans never had any use for society (or civilization, for that matter).
In the USA, the reaction to societal collapse is not solidarity and communitarianism; it is further societal collapse.

It is always easier to claim “rigging” than it is to acknowledge that maybe Sanders’ messaging and campaign just weren’t very good.
I noted repeatedly that his focus on youth concerns: cancel student debt, medicare for all, etc are more urgent for the under 35 – and could be viewed negatively by those who are already established.
The voting patterns in every state primary so far support this: Sanders lost in every state voter demographic over 45.

Gabbard may have 0+n chance of winning the nomination but Bernie’s chances are 0-n! Sanders pride and loyalty to the DNC will prevent him from ever endorsing Gabbard under any circumstances. Which it too bad because Gabbard is a far braver and stronger campaigner. Sure Sanders has good ideas that resonate with a lot of people but unfortunately he’s from another era when attacking the character and fitness of your political opponent was considered crude and impolite. I like what I’ve seen of Tulsi Gabbard, but she has 2 delegates.
Why would Sanders drop his own campaign and endorse Gabbard now?
Nor is it very clear that Gabbard has better support among the groups which are clearly not supporting Sanders, but there’s so little data that it is possible.
Changing to a different Democrat presidential candidate at this late juncture is completely pointless.

I’m 72, and living in a senior community in So.-Cal. My most often heard comment from my peers is;” He’s a communist, I could never vote for him”, referring of course, to Sanders.
People above the age of 60 remember the “cold war”, and a Democratic Socialist is considered to be just another Communist in the minds of a heavy percentage of seniors.
Until Sanders works on dispelling that notion, he’ll never garner the lions share of their votes. And, MOST of that age group, votes in the 90% range.

Bernie Sanders publicly addressed the Coronavirus issue just a few moments ago and he was absolutely amazing in his delivery and proposals. I mean he was so Presidential and really knocked it out of the park on every detailed point!
If you do a three way split screen of Trump last night from the Oval, and Biden earlier THERE IS NO QUESTION THAT BERNIE SANDERS was way and above better on substance, delivery, demeanor and appearance.
I’m stunned and my admiration for this man just tripled. I hope people watch his speech today and see why Bernie Sanders must be the next President of the United States.

The point in changing candidates is that the current one has already lost. It’s a charisma contest; Tulsi has tons and Bernie has even less than Biden which is why he lost. If Tulsi hit the ground running with Bern’s endorsement she’d mop the floor with Joe and then the Donald. Sure it would be a bold move; what’s wrong with that?

None of Bernie’s running mates were capable of running a campaign on his level of quality and decency and attention to the real moral obligations to serve the people of this country. The party leadership has sabotaged his campaign from behind the scenes, as they did in 2016.
All that matters to the DNC is to drag Biden’s mentally diminished figure over the finish line in Milwaukee. The less chance Biden has to open his mouth between now and the opening gavel at the convention, the better it is for DNC plans to shut down debate, and bar the door to any debate about our country’s crisis of democracy.
Power for its own sake at the cost of everything: if you can bear to behold this horror in the flesh, just glance at the face of James Carville, DNC gorgon, one of our rarer monsters. The determination in his face is inhuman; and like the others of his kind, he would rather see this country die of all its old sins than allow one just man to become president.

Things are beginning to go very wrong for Trump – he is likely to lose the next election, even against Biden.
The coronavirus pandemic looks likely to expose US lack of preparedness, lack of prompt action and lack of universal affordable healthcare.
The escalating financial crash will expose the hollowed-out nature of US institutions, the lack of a safety-net, the excess of greed and lack of future for US capitalism.
It is likely that Trump will be blamed for this, that he will be punished by the electorate and the US will have a new President come November.
If Biden becomes President then Ukraine provides the example as to how he will allow America to be treated when it is in crisis (i.e. the crisis will be used to further enrich the elite and degrade ordinary working people, just like in 2008 only much worse).
Everything that Sanders says about the problems of domestic America is the action that ordinary Americans will require if this coming crash is as severe as many believe that it will be.

It is certainly possible. However, rigging across multiple states – without one single person saying anything – is a lot less credible given the significant number of Sanders supporters – open and secret – within the Democrat party and the various state vote-counting bureaucracies.
Hopefully those who are alleging rigging are actually investigating it, as opposed to just using this as an excuse.

I’m going to post what I posted on the main-page topic here as well, because people really, really need a major wake-up call.:
I was under the impression that the most advanced biological/germ agent research is developed in the Negev Desert? Anyway, how do you like your slow responder, Ziofascist Trump, now???
And the mentally declining Joe Biden will be no better only as compliant for the Ziofascist rulers to use as a sockpuppet while they continue to control the population in more ways than one.
The response to Coronavirus says FU to people. In other words the one-percent are saying that less 99% to spend on is more wealth for their global designs and security.
Iran is under severe Ziofascist sanctions with people dropping like flies there. Naturally Iranian people will point the finger at their government when in fact everyone should point the finger at the U.S. government not only cleansing its own.
And of course a virus conveniently cleanses/eliminates the immuno weakest, the ill and the elderly. You see it’s a much more economical solution than Bernie Sanders universal solution: protect all humanity. How interesting and ironic that the young who support him are in fact also protecting a present and future aging population, ergo Sanders is the enemy of the ruling class and their global designs.
This may seem irrelevant, but I’m somewhat knowledgeable on film, and as a rule I don’t very much like science fiction, preferring film noir as the superior genre of all time, however, someone recently suggested to me an interesting 1973 science fiction thriller loosely based on the 1966 science fiction novel Make Room! Make Room! The film in question is. Soylent Green.
The film received mixed critical reviews at the time, but one criticism stands out:
Penelope Gilliatt of The New Yorker was negative, writing, “This pompously prophetic thing of a film hasn’t a brain in its beanbag. Where is democracy? Where is the popular vote? Where is women’s lib? Where are the uprising poor, who would have suspected what was happening in a moment?”

So of course with the public, having already been subjected to mass brainwash and fear control, it’s not so easy now to get them to SEE WHAT’S REALLY HAPPENING.

The DNC has played a great pawn game. pushing one then another culminating in a grand Bait and Switch Gambit sacrificing them all to push a creaky knight who can bring in the desired stalemate, a brokered convention; the game plan all along. The Bernie movement has had only one true and loyal ally on the board the whole time, and that’s Tulsi Gabbard. All the punditry is gaga over the daring play of the DNC; how about some daring play from the movement? There’s no chance that Bern might prevent the brokered convention. There’s no chance that he might gain the nomination. But Tulsi starting fresh with Bernie’s endorsement, and delegates might sweep the board the rest of the way. If there is a movement then this is its chance!
Does anyone out there understand that this is possible? Just as possible as the resurrection of Biden; it’s just strategy!

See, this is not a nation-state. America is not a nation-state, and Europeans have a hell of a time to understand this simple fact which, after all, they could know theoretically. It is…this country is united neither by heritage, nor by memory, nor by soil, nor by language, nor by origin from the same…by nat…there are no natives here. The natives were the Indians. Everything else are citizens, and these citizens are united only by one thing–and that is a lot. That is, you become a citizen of the United States by simple consent to the Constitution.
Actually, British, German and French models up to the 1980’s and still today, are not that different. Their economy is mixed. As is the US economy, just the degree and the direction state intervention takes are different.
Sanders has a lot of nation building and class fight left to do.

He needs to say right to Biden’s face:- “Its the MIXED ECONOMY stupid! You know: the economy before Reagan that made America productive and when we had real science in the EPA and Health and FAA and Educators in Public Schools. The MIXED ECONOMY that taxed fairly across the board to pay for the things that MADE AMERICA GREAT. Not a socialism but a simple, fair, mixed economy.”

I saw him tell Biden the questions he will ask so Biden can prepare his answers and they were the wrong questions from someone seeking to really win.
I have not seen Bernie give the simple reassurances to bring back an economy only 50 years old that worked for the middle class then that are the fearful retired class now. The words of reassurance and victory. He knows that fact. He is a seasoned politician who knows in his bones what people need to hear to elect him. He just needs to do it!
But he wont say that. (as it is clear now) because he appears to have given up to the fix. Biden will possibly go down AFTER the convention or just before. A new bright young thing will be propped into place and so on…

Thanks ben but I am totally inclined to a Gabard/Sanders hierarchy.
Time for someone who speaks with clarity on a broad range of critical policy issues to take the lead. I do believe that Tulsi speaks right into where USians are listening and would generate the voter enthusiasm needed for change.

It basically says Trump is unfit to be President of USA. Bla blab bla

Before that Bush and Bush and Clinton and Reagan and so on, This destruction of trust in government professional service since Reagan has rat f’kd the USA, destroyed trust with science and careers in the public sector. The private sector just rakes cash, it never invests in science outside of immediate cash.
Every repugnant and democrazi presidency and congress has failed the USA people for fifty years and more. They are disgusting saboteurs of the public service in the country. They are scum. They believe in Make America Grovel Again. And they did it.”
It did not get posted and hours later is still unposted !! Other posts appeared in the following hours.

So Bernie held a fireside chat yesterday beside his wood stove cause Bernie may have a cabin by the lake, a home in Washington and his wife a home in Vermont, but he put some wood in the dusty, old wood stove like country folk and spoke on serious issues until the embers glowed. What a simple, good-hearted man he is! He is exactly what all people need as President of the U.S.A.; a People’s President.

I listened to the whole thing cause I can’t get enough of his humanity at this time.
And just to let you know, Bernie is STILL in the race, he’s holding an online rally tomorrow and he’s encouraging everyone to go vote on Tuesday, wash their hands and keep hope alive.
Everything he’s doing and saying makes it clear that this race is not over, that there is still a chance, that we all need someone with his policies who is all for people, their well-being and the planet. He is trying to save people from being swayed into a terrible mistake, as Biden is not a good candidate for this time, and will lose to Trump.
The future holds more and worst existential threats and only a President who truly cares about protecting people and implements universal healthcare and the Green New Deal will be able to meet those serious challenges head on with preparedness.
This is not a time for a corporate shill like Biden with a multitude of fatal flaws!
Bernie is the only one who has what people need most at this time and he will defeat Trump, no doubt about it.

All of them enjoy tremendous benefits exporting timber, paper, electricity etc to Western Europe – something they would not be able to do as well if they were not right beside the EU. They also enjoy great benefits in reaping food trade back.
So it isn’t so much their economic models as their location and demographics: they’re all small population/low density/high area nations. They’re Canada to the Europe as US.
