Last week's posts at Moon of Alabama:

The M5 highway is librated and safe and the western suburbs of Aleppo are currently being cleaned of filth.
Five Jihadi counterattacks with Turkish artillery support and seven suicide vehicles were defeated.
The next operation will attempt to liberate the M4 highway in a more mountainous are and thereby more difficult.

> But former ambassador to the US Michael Oren, who knows Bloomberg from his days in Washington from 2009 to 2013, characterized Bloomberg as a “friend” who would be “very good” for Israel.

“I had a lot of contact with him, and he was very upset about the [Obama] administration’s treatment of us,” said Oren. “He is a Jewish guy who grew up in Boston suburbs. He is not a progressive. He has a deep tribal connection to Israel.”  <

An old person is sick with an (alleged) deadly virus which also happens to be highly contagious. There's no cure and there may never be one.

That's a very concrete (material) situation to me.

Now, this very concrete situation raises a moral issue: should we let this old person to die in quarantine (the cruelty of letting one die in isolation and without his/her freedom of movement), or let him/her go?

If we let this old person go, that would solve us the first moral question: the person is free to do whatever he/she wants to do.

But that solved moral question will generate another moral question: many more people will get infected from this old person, because we let him/her free. They will also die from the disease, as it has no cure.

The same moral question is in place again - only now, multiplied by millions of times. Should we let those newly infected people free or should we let them die in quarantine?

If the disease wasn't contagious, or if it was easily treatable, this moral dilemma wouldn't exist. We know little girls with cancer should be treated no matter the cost to the rest of society; we know we should let people with a simple cold go to the grocery store to buy some chicken soup. Nobody talks about it.

Notice that morality disappears when practical solutions exist. In reality, it is not morality that creates practical solutions or raise practical problems, but it is the objective material reality which imposes humans to create morality, or project the problem as a moral issue.

VK @ 182, Peter AU 1 @ 193, 194:

Yes that news about the leaked documents attached to the Joint Investigative Team pointing to the absence of BUK missile-delivery systems in the area where Flight MH17 fell on 17 July 2014 is interesting in light of the fact that eyewitnesses interviewed by the BBC (which later suppressed the interviews) did not hear any loud explosions that would have been expected if missiles had been fired by such systems. Nor did they see any smoke that would have been left behind by such missiles.

A recent documentary made by a former SBU agent turned whistleblower, Valery Prozorov, includes an interview with two former Ukrainian Army conscripts (who later defected to the Donbass rebel side) who said that a BUK missile-delivery system with their regiment, while it was stationed in the Donbass area, was diverted to a "training range" from combat service about the time of the shoot-down of the Malaysia Airlines jet. The conscripts later learned that the BUK missile system was actually deployed in the Donbass conflict area and had fired a missile at the time the jet came down.

I believe it was Karlofi who mooted Beard's "The Republic".

Whatever, is good read. However in light of subsequent events and revelations of fact it seems to stand as naive white propaganda...nevertheless with great ideas and, I think, worthwhile matters to consider.

Walter @209--

Beard died in 1948, 5 years after he published The Republic and before the massive rapine of people and planet by the Outlaw US Empire commenced. His wife and fellow historian Mary did live to see some of it, however. They were true patriots of a sort now very rare. But both were well aware of the centuries of dishonor that Helen Hunt wrote about.

Xi says China's battle against COVID-19 making visible progress

If the epidemic really peaks in April, then China may lose the year - but will win decades. The COVID-19 may have been tragic, but it will also represent the death of old Chinese superstitions which have no place in a socialist society.

WHO’s decision to not raise risk assessment on coronavirus totally based on science, facts

I agree with this headline. It also reinforces its president's sudden volte face days before travelling to Beijing, as I mentioned in my earlier comment about this story.

Therefore, you're hurting the UK, which is a capitalist nation.

Just a remark about dirty fuel tanks> (Boeing 737 Max: debris found in fuel tanks of grounded planes)

Several years ago a new Type 212 transiting from Germany to naval maneuvers with RN experience severe weather, and being obliged by orders to remain surfaced, the boat's dirty fuel was stirred and clogged the fuel filters... That was a bad, really impermissible, failure...things in aircraft and boats can cascade, one thing going wrong at the wrong time can end the game in a series.

Both the German (best submarine?) and the 737 krap-in-tank is simply not consistent with necessary prerequisite quality. Not just a problem with people, a problem with Policy. Big Time.

Karlofi> Beard's ideas about the reason for 1786 are particularly interesting, and seem to be valid...his idea being that there were three groups causative, one being a cabal of militarists, fascist prototypes...more or less. And that the revisions were in response to a proximate military coup by that group.

It's time to expose Bloomberg for who he really is: a very right of center Ziofascist Neocon billionaire buying a critical election.

Now I stated here repeatedly that Sanders is the ONLY candidate who can and will defeat Trump, as he is AUTHENTIC and generates the most enthusiasm to bring out hundreds of thousands of new voters necessary to defeat Trump.

Bloomberg IS NOT AUTHENTIC and is a cookie-cutter right-wing establishment NEOCON, Wall Street-immersed Billionaire who would lose the election to Trump.

Bloomberg generates ZERO excitement on the Left and is popular with only 10% or less on the right.

Bloomberg WILL LOSE THE ELECTION FOR DEMOCRATS and the consequences will be devastating.

But let's pretend he would win. What would the Bloomberg effect be on the Democratic Party?

It would be almost as devastating.

Bloomberg, being right of center would cancel hard-fought efforts made to bring a new generation of politicians with a fresh progressive vision into the Party.

He would drag the Democratic Party fully to the Center and even further right especially on foreign policy back to stale regressive establishment policy.

Let's remember that Bloomberg believed Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11, was for the Iraq War, was AGAINST the Iran deal, was for the two invasions of Gaza and vehemently justified and supported the bombing of a school and killing of children in that school in Gaza as well as the bombing of hospitals.

He was OPPOSED to Obama's troop reduction in Iraq and for the Saudi operation in Yemen and after MBS the Saudi prince had the journalist Khashoggi murdered in the Saudi Embassy in Turkey Bloomberg tried to whitewash MBS's image by taking him around New York and inviting him to coffee at STARBUCKS!

Bloomberg is a friend of Netanyahu and is supportive of the illegal acts Israel is engaged in with their land theft and oppression of the Palestinians.

Aside from his racist, fascist stop and frisk policing of black and Latino communities, and support for redlining:

Bloomberg also espouses the racist theory that the financial crisis was caused by government efforts to reduce prejudice in home lending — thus scapegoating minorities to deflect blame from the real culprit, Wall Street oligarchs like himself.

Bloomberg also went after the Muslim community with Islamophobic tactics.

He created what amounted to a police state for New York Muslims, subjecting the entire community to dragnet surveillance and harassment, and filling mosques with spies and agent provocateurs. The city had to pay millions in settlements for violating Muslims' civil rights. (All this did precisely nothing to prevent terrorism, by the way.)

mike bloomberg is not the lesser of two evils

Black and latino minorities must not fall for the Uncle Toms luring them to vote for this racist, war-mongering Neocon!

Everyone needs to get informed on this ZIONIST FASCIST WOLF trying to hide in sheep's clothing. Here are two wake up calls.:

bloomberg defended Israel shelling school

Mike Bloomberg in his own words

Don't fall for this latest fake media gimmick pushing this Neocon Zionist shill billionaire, who is merely Trump's inferior twin, in Sanders path to victory!

This latest ploy to take down Sanders with Bloomberg is insulting to every honest person's intelligence.

Bloomberg is the absolute worst option and antithetical to moral and humane progress.

He is Neocon duplicity on full display and should be booted out of the race on Super Tuesday, March 3rd and back to one of his mansions in New York!

So now, after the Iowa recanvass of caucus results, only thousandths of a point separate Buttigieg and Bernie.

But why was Buttigieg allocated two extra delegates, for thousandths of a point, and what might still be a precise tie or a Bernie win if everyone involved were truthful since Bernie won the popular vote by a substantial amount of votes? So dishonest and stingy.

Iowa recanvass

We'll see what else the DNC pulls. People needs to flood the polls for Bernie to avoid narrow margins that can be fixed to disadvantage Sanders.

Disregard all polling. What really matters happens with overwhelming voting numbers.

With the Cultural Revolution, the old Chinese religion (Chinese paganism) was essentially exterminated.

However, it's ghost continued to exist in Chinese society in the form of various old habits and superstitions. Among them, we can include the bizarre Chinese medicine (which uses tiger penis, white rhinoceros horns and many other exotic and endangered species) and other completely irrational culinary habits (e.g. that bat soup which only exists in Wuhan). Those superstitions are, for all intents and purposes, a reminiscence of the feudal times.

It is speculated the COVID-19 came from these wild and exotic animals. So far, a chain of at least three species is speculated: the pangolin, snake and bat. These three species circulated heavily and freely in the Wuhanese markets.

After the epidemic broke out, the Chinese government immediately banned commerce of wild animals in Wuhan. My bet is that they'll use it to finish what the Cultural Revolution couldn't: to completely erradicate the remnants of this living fossil from the feudal times.

Posted by: vk | Feb 19 2020 14:22 utc | 218

Considering that the elite has found several elected presidents sufficiently unsatisfactory that they have chosen to remove them by violence and also lesser forms of pressure...the limitation of 50 years avoids this reality to some degree, by obviously not entirely.

It's an inescapable conclusion that it does matter when an unsatisfactory character is anointed - we know it matters - since "they" had to remove the guy. Such displays of naked power tend to erode the fairytale and create flaws and fissures in their carefully crafted tapestry of lies and deception. That matters. The truth matters.

That's why it is important to try to identify a totally unsuitable (to "them") candidate. Trump was unsuitable, his elevation FUBARd the scheduled attack on Iran, probably. Bernie might also FUBAR the schedule.

I recall visiting a cop shop in Frisco about 1967, chatting with a well-nourished swinish fella in a funny suit when - bang! - some piggie accidentally fired a teargas round just down the hall...they had to evacuate the building... FUBARs and incompetence matter...

I disagree more or less completely with what you said. The Cultural Revolution wasn't as succesful as you maintain.

All of these things you mentioned far pre-date feudal times and are part of Chinese culture.

I wouldn't lend credence to the idea that covid-19 came from those markets. as you said these practices are age-old. Funny isn't it that this outbreak occurred at a time of geopolitical tension, and just at the most inconvenient time of year.

I see nothing inherently wrong with eating these exotic species, although I can agree that if the existence of a species is threatened, then it should be protected. However, many of thes exotic species are actively farmed.

We should beware of tropes of cultural imperialism which have been used and are being used by anti-Chinese propagandists with this epidemic. In my view the excesses of the Cultural Revolution resulted precisely from a cultural inferiority complex on the part of an earlier generation of Chinese intellectuals when confronted with western science and technology.

'Xi Jinping Thought' goes a long way to remedy this, stressing as it does the development of 'Socialism with Chinese characteristics' ie a socialism rooted in Chinese civilization and culture.

Xi has spoken of the central importance of the family in society and of the danger of western values to China. I think he is exactly right.

I took my California History and Native American History courses in California from two venerable, outstanding teachers of history, and I took Arizona History and an Anthropology course on the People's of the Far Southwest at Flagstaff's NAU. Back in California, I grappled with the attempt to change the state's K-12 history standards meant to bury most of the unsavory past; but given what occurred in San Francisco with the attempt to erase an historic mural, those wanting to erase more might win. There're many excellent books languishing at the Bancroft at UC Berkeley where the evil deeds are recorded and can be learned about. But the current crop of profs need to know they exist so they can point students in the right direction, and the youngsters I went to college with didn't show much moxie for learning outside of the syllabus.

BTW at that time Frank was employed by Navajo Tribe...and the tribe did not have a single lawyer working for Frank wound up reading the Treaty modification for agreement 'tween Tribe and US in re Lake Powell. In which the rights to the river's center were changed to the water's edge... Something Frank caught. Kit, of course, participated in the California Genocides...

Alas, law and anthropology were forfeit to Vietnam and a gradual repudiation of systemic enticements to assume a position in the obviously corrupt (and doomed) Client Class... Which left open to Walter only the working class...which I willingly joined, perhaps Debs would smile... I enjoyed completely and especially the strikes, and foment a wildcat, or three. I was, of course, qualified as a red-diaper kid because of the McCarthy primed in cynicism. I did some graduate work, but never bothered with a degree...not even from High School - these seemed and seem now odious, worthless jewelry, I repudiated badges and favored actuality and deeds. Though less strident these days, with the moderation of age.

A neighbor's friend, only recently, was relating his own family's story about the long march from Tehama to the Sea...about half didn't make it.

Assange to claim Trump offered him a pardon [quid pro] to deny Russia hacked the DNC.

Great news. IF ONLY,,,,,,,

I hope Assange and the Congressman has it on tape. Trump claims he "barely" knows Rohrabacher. White House denies:

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham in a statement on Wednesday denied allegations that President Donald Trump directed former Congressman Dana Rohrabacher to offer WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange a pardon if he would say Russia had no role in the Democratic National Convention (DNC) leaks.

"The President barely knowns Dana Rohrabacher other than he's an ex-congressman," Grisham said in the statement. "He's never spoken to him on this subject or almost any subject. It is a complete fabrication and a total lie. This is probably another never ending hoax and total lie from the DNC."[.]

"To add to the controversy, some other, older videos, then surfaced online, featuring Bloomberg also talking favourably about Donald Trump back in 2012, while calling the businessman 'a great guy' and admitting to being his 'big fan'."

IMO, there's likely a lot more to uncover from mining Bloomberg's social media archives. They'll buttress Sanders truths cited yesterday about the absurdity of Bloomberg ousting Trump as good for the nation--they're essentially lizards sharing the same skin.

Pepe Escobar always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Here's his report on the Munich Security Conference. Brief Pepe summation:

"For what it is worth, here’s the MSC report [Link at original]. Only two sentences would be enough to give away the MSC game: 'In the post-Cold War era, Western-led coalitions were free to intervene almost anywhere. Most of the time, there was support in the UN Security Council, and whenever a military intervention was launched, the West enjoyed almost uncontested freedom of military movement.'"

Thankfully, those days are almost at an end. China is now deemed the current Devil by the West, but it gave back more than it got. The great fear of the Atlanticists may be realized as Eurasia makes the West irrelevant as we go deeper into the Asian Century. The phoenix-like rise in Nationalism deplored by the West is a direct result of its predation as was its initial appearance which Neoliberalism helped put down for awhile. But like Jack in The Shining, it's back and it's not going to be dissuaded from growing into the Multipolar Beast most feared by Puritan Exceptionalists.

karlof1 @233

Bloomberg appears to be a very "ideological" candidate.

Bloomberg does not believe in Medicare (let alone Meducare4All) as he sees that medical care should go to those that can afford it and that it is useful that those who can't, die. This is very much like getting rid of "useless eaters".

Bloomberg is eugenist in that he has a tough instinctive racist approach to law enforcement and punishment - more prisons would be required by a "President" Bloomberg. I describe Bloomberg as "eugenist" rather than "racist" because Bloomberg's approach goes beyond discrimination and is in the direction of intentionally creating non-viable living conditions for the race/kinds of people that he obviously believes is criminal in nature.

Bloomberg is a strong believer in regressive taxation and those on middle to low income will find themselves paid less and taxed more not because of a desire to raise taxes per se but to ensure that the lower classes do not have any excess money to spend on anything that is non-essential or wasteful. Bloomberg discussed this philosophy in a one-on-one with Christine Lagarde and there mutually pleasure in regressive taxation being a good thing was chilling.

It strikes me that most of the complaints Americans have about their lives are not something Bloomberg believes to be a bad thing and such difficulties (that Americans have) will get much worse under a Bloomberg Presidency. I believe Bloomberg would take such complaints as a confirmation that he is achieving his goals and is on the right track.

It would be a good thing if Americans could quickly kill off any prospect of Bloomberg becoming President as a priority. Bloomberg would be much worse than Hillary or Trump (they are at root just ambitious, Bloomberg is a true-believer). I am really surprised that Bloomberg is in serious contention - what are you Americans on?

Trump's reported offer to Assange, of a pardon if he confirmed that Russia didn't meddle in the 2016 election, is now the lead story in News in Oz this morning.
ABC is presenting it as a "revelation" in the UK Court extradition proceedings.

@ karlof1 233

Always forgetting there is an evidence trail.

Adding to mine @ 232:

The White House denies the offer of pardon to Assange through the alleged intermediary Congressman Rohrabacher. 'Barely knew him' it is claimed.

BBC has more: LINK
Mr Fitzgerald said a statement from Assange's lawyer Jennifer Robinson shows "Mr Rohrabacher going to see Mr Assange and saying, on instructions from the president, he was offering a pardon or some other way out, if Mr Assange... said Russia had nothing to do with the DNC leaks."

Responding to the claims, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said: "The President barely knows Dana Rohrabacher other than he's an ex-congressman. He's never spoken to him on this subject or almost any subject.
"It is is a complete fabrication and a total lie."

Mr Trump has previously praised Mr Rohrabacher as "a great congressman" who "works hard and is respected by all".

The Wall Street Journal reported in 2017 that Mr Rohrabacher had contacted the White House in an attempt to secure a pardon for Mr Assange.

The paper said that, under Mr Rohrabacher's terms, Mr Assange was required to provide "proof" that Russia was not the source of hacked emails published by Wikileaks during the 2016 US election.[.]

The Judge has ruled the allegation is admissible. Where is the Congressman? Hmm.

Some one is mis-remembering -

Assange Says He's 1,000% Sure Russia Didn't Hack the DNC's Emails

Yesterday, it was being floated that Roger Stone would be pardoned and perhaps Assange as well.

This denial of a pardon for Assange makes an offer less feasible.

Wang has gone to the dark side. He just took a job at CNN. Hopefully he will not become a tool for their anti-Sanders propaganda.

andrew yang cnn

Bernie Sanders, NOT ME.US, is now the frontrunner nationally. He is the person most people want for the Nomination and the most likely to defeat Trump for all the reasons I stated previously.

Sanders has never waivered in opposing the establishment. All the other candidates are milking whatever footage they have of Obama complimenting them at some time or shaking their hand. Bernie Sanders dared to challenge even Obama when the latter compromised with the right on lowering Social Security, (albeit it was not successful in the House) and on his foreign policy.

Sanders is a man of consistent integrity who puts issues over personality and he never gives up fighting for people no matter who he has to take on or the risk to him politically.

Tonight MSNBC is hosting the debate in Nevada. MSNBC are never-Sanders fake media. At the last debate they hosted, they were disrespectful and unfair with their questions towards Sanders. Expect dirty tactics against Sanders to be even worse this time.

Despite all the media efforts to besmirch him, Sanders is leading, because he genuinely cares about empowering people and making their lives better, and they recognize him as the authentic candidate.

Nothing the media pull will succeed. Sanders is more determined than ever to win this. The cynics, losers (i.e. jackrabbit), haters naysayers and trolls can fire away! None of their negativity, dirt and smears will stick.

STFU CNN! Why don't you ask Biden, Bloomberg, Warren and Trump to release ALL THEIR MEDICAL RECORDS. Bernie already released more than necessary!

Why should Sanders be held to a higher standard???

F.U. CNN AND MSNBC! Dirt media.

Anderson Cooper brought up the stupid medical reports issue at the town hall yesterday, because that poisonous snake-in-the-grass, coop, is pissed that Sanders is beating Cooper's gay comrade, Buttigieg!

ADKC @235: Bloomberg appears to be a very "ideological" candidate.... I am really surprised that Bloomberg is in serious contention - what are you Americans on?

Well, there's an "ideology" of Bloomberg's that you (strangely) missed. It's kinda explained by b in the last Week-in-Review/Open Thread (which you also seem to have missed):

And the inevitable question Zionist ask: Is Michael Bloomberg, Jewish Dem. candidate, good for Israel? - Jerusalem Post:

> But former ambassador to the US Michael Oren, who knows Bloomberg from his days in Washington from 2009 to 2013, characterized Bloomberg as a “friend” who would be “very good” for Israel.

“I had a lot of contact with him, and he was very upset about the [Obama] administration’s treatment of us,” said Oren. “He is a Jewish guy who grew up in Boston suburbs. He is not a progressive. He has a deep tribal connection to Israel.” <

Why is a guy whose worth $60 billion in the race AT ALL?I suspect that it's not his capitalist ideology that prompted him to enter but a different cult-like superemist ideology that demands absolute loyalty to a certain ME country that wants USA to remain a capitalist, militarist EMPIRE that can be easily manipulated.

In fact, who on the debate stage tonight is NOT a Zionist?

"NATO GO HOME! (voltaire)

"For two decades, US troops have been imposing their law on the broader Middle East. Entire countries are now without a state to defend them. Populations have been subjected to the dictatorship of the Islamists. Mass murders have been committed. There have been famines as well. President Donald Trump has forced his generals to repatriate their soldiers, but the Pentagon intends to continue its work with NATO soldiers."

Walter @246

I had read that article earlier today. It could have been posted under b's most recent article "Syria - Turkey's Bluff Is Called - Media Opposition Sources Run By British Intelligence" because it ends by describing how Turkey broke with Russia:

"On the 1st of February, Turkey made its break with Russia official by assassinating four FSB officers in Idleb."

Essentially, the article suggests that Turkey has realigned with the US and, consequently, is not bluffing. I tried to find corroboration that it was Turkey that arranged for the assassination of the 4 FSB officers but only found an alternative theory that it was hardline Syrian Officers who did not want negotiations between Turkey and Syria to proceed.

The thing about Turkey's supposed re-alignment with the US that did not make sense to me is that the article was in the context Donald Rumsfeld's and Admiral Arthur Cebrowski's "Non-Integrating GAP Countries" Strategy (Nations doomed to permanent chaos, conflict and weak government and earmarked for exploitation by the "Integrated" countries). Turkey is marked down as one of the "Non-Integrating GAP Countries" so why would they align with this US strategy (it is a bit like Turkey voting for Christmas).

"NATO Go Home!"

Thanks to Bernie Sanders, the Democratic Party is more progressive and inclusive than ever in the past 50 years. So why at this moment would the Democratic Party destroy itself by backing Bloomberg, a Repulican, a conservative, a Neocon, a racist, and sexist entitled Billionaire who is trying to buy this election when Bernie Sanders has dedicated his entire life to social justice and created a grassroots movement from coast to coast, speaking and listening to people and organizing in every state for 4+ years?

Who does Bloomberg think he is ignoring states and the people living in them spending already almost half a billion dollars to buy his way to the front of the line?

Bloomberg is like the arrogant, annoying person who arrives late , could care less how long others waited in line, and cuts in front of everyone. No one can stand that type of person who thinks they invented the wheel and can skip the process others respect.

Johnny-come-lately Bloomberg with his billion to throw has no business in the race!

The most important issue is Empire. Something we won't hear much about at the Democratic Party Debate.

- New Cold War with Russia.
- Participating in war / acts of war against: Syria, Venezuela, Iran, Yemen.
- Long-term occupation of Afghanistan.
- Weaponized trade.
- Militarizing space.
- War economy.
- Militarized police.
- War on whistle-blowers and civil rights (e.g. privacy).
- Etc.

Posted by: Jackrabbit | Feb 20 2020 2:39 utc | 250

Bernie made some good points.

He's right on healthcare, income inequality, the environment.

But it's virtually impossible to win unless you take on the Democratic Party ... and make an issue of the EMPIRE.

Because EMPIRE touches every issue and affects all of us. But it's not something the Parties and their media cronies will talk about except in hushed tones, asides, and knowing sighs.

Posted by: Jackrabbit | Feb 20 2020 4:29 utc | 251

MSNBC debate moderators are either attacking Bernie Sanders or ignoring him completely, and he's the frontrunner. THEY ARE CLEARLY BIASED.

Bloomberg has serious issues that left him tongue tied, but Klobuchar hardly attacked Bloomberg and he was eyeing her like he wants her for VP. Too bad he's going to be knocked out of this race and Amy's going straight back to the Senate. Two Zionist Israel shills on one ticket is two many to stomach!

Buttigieg is behaving like the asshole empty-suit upstart elitist WEASEL that he is.

Elizabeth Warren suffers from weaselry as well, blaming Bernie for every nasty comment that appears online. Bernie's surrogates get attacked online every day! Bernie gets smeared and attacked viciously. I know. I see it all the time on his twitter! Grow up lady! Grow a skin lady!
Wait until Trumpbots come on board, then you'll see what vile and disgusting really looks like. You couldn't even handle Pocahontas! If you're not badass enough to handle online attacks, then you can't handle what's coming -- so stfu Warren, get out of the way, cause you'll never beat Trump. Bernie's got an army of badassery ready to fight with him, and he will win, unlike you with your namby-pamby thin-skinned griping! And when Bernie wins, YOU, OF ALL PEOPLE WHO CLAIMS TO HAVE A PLATFORM LIKE HIS, SHOULD CELEBRATE.

One more thing, Andrew Yang is showing his true colors now with his job at CNN. He made a HUGE mistake taking that job. Political career-ender. You should have come on board Bernie's winning movement instead!

Here's why your hatred of Sanders is so filthy, pathetic and vile!

The rights of millions of Palestinians and the welfare of millions of Iranians hang in the balance with this election. ASIDE from the existential threats of war and climate change!

Bernie Sanders is 1000 times better than Trump and Bloomberg, and more honest than every other person on the debate stage!

You know why your effing Zynicism (yes, I'm right to suspect you're a ZIONIST YOURSELF!) digusts me so much, because you don't even consider that people who are suffering this moment don't have the luxury of waiting for the level of PURITY YOU PRETEND. Oh Yeah...You are a big pretender! 🤥👺👎🤬 Your sanctimonious bullshet purity drivel stinks and is a front for deception!

Posted by: Circe | Feb 20 2020 4:43 utc | 252

Either CNN corrupted Andrew Yang in 15 minutes or there was something receptive there from the start.

Posted by: Circe | Feb 20 2020 5:36 utc | 253

Picture this: Bloomberg is the Pig and Democrats are so desperate and many so NEVER BERNIE, that they're putting lipstick on that Pig and pretending it's an acquired taste that'll grow on you. How is that less corrupt than Republicans in lock step with a cheat, a crook and a liar as their leader?

Bernie Sanders never veers off message. He is consistent. He is authentic; no varnish required. Warren may have gotten in a few punches at that debate, but SHE HERSELF cannot take the punches, so she is weak in that regard, and she doesn't have the massive organized operation Bernie has to beat Trump, and the fact that she can't admit that Bernie has what it takes to bring it to Trump shows that she's not in this for her cause. This is about HER.Not Us while with Bernie it will always be NOT ME.US.

If Warren hangs on, she is doing herself and her cause (which Bernie will run with) a GRAVE DISSERVICE.

Bernie had a great debate in spite of MSNBC bias, and raised 2.7 MILLION during the debate and with her best debate ever, Warren raised 1 MILLION...from people who want her in the race to divide the Left vote knowing she can't win.

That's the hard truth. Bernie will defeat Trump. Warren doesn't have what it takes to defeat Trump. End of story. She's wasting precious time. Warren come over to Bernie' campaign once and for all or go back to your seat in the Senate, but get out of the way, ALREADY.

The following is the most important reason why people should flood the polls and give Bernie who has the people's back, an uncontestable majority.

Moderator Chuck Todd asked Sanders and the other candidates—Sens. Amy Klobuchar (Minn.) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), former Vice President Joe Biden, former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg—about the possibility of a brokered convention at the end of a contentious and often bitter two hour debate.

"Theres a very good chance none of you are going to have enough delegates at the Democratic National Convention to clinch this nomination," said Todd. "If that happens, I want all of your opinions on this, should the person with the most delegates at the end of this proimary season be the nominee even if they are short of a majority?"

All candidates but Sanders, who noted the presence of super-delegates on the second ballot, said no.

As the New York Times explained:

It's essentially an admission from Mr. Sanders' rivals that he may finish the primary and caucus calendar with the most pledged delegates, but that they hope to hold him under 50 percent and make their case to delegates in Milwaukee.

"Stunning middle finger to democracy and the democratic base," said journalist Kyle Kulinski of the other candidates. "Inexcusable and the definition of authoritarian."

Sanders surrogate Linda Sarsour said on Twitter that her candidate's answer on the delegates was the only acceptable one in a democratic system.

"Bernie Sanders was the only candidate with the RIGHT ANSWER re: should the person with most delegates going in to the convention get the nomination," said Sarsour. "YES, let the will of the people prevail."

Let the will of the people prevail

Posted by: Circe | Feb 20 2020 6:55 utc | 255

If Bernie is to go to the convention uncontested, then people have to give the undemocratic candidates in this race who responded NO to Chuck Todd's question A STUNNING SHELLACKING.

Posted by: Circe | Feb 20 2020 7:02 utc | 256

One more thing: Elizabeth Warren should have given the same answer as Bernie to Chuck Todd's question on whether the candidate with the majority of pledged delegates should get the nomination. She gave the dishonest, selfish, politically-motivated answer. She is not for the will of the people and she doesn't deserve the Left-base vote. She just can't stand that the Left prefer Bernie Sanders to her, but Bernie has worked harder than anyone to harnass the support and grassroots movement he has and deserves the Nomination and the respect.

Take a cue from Kirsten Powers dum-dum Democrats or you'll lose everything!

Face facts, Bernie Sanders is electable

Instead of turning right when the progressive base and the future (i.e. youth) is turning Left, and trying to put lipstick on the pig, Bloomberg, just to make the elephant in the room that's in front of your nose disappear, that you refuse to acknowledge is soaring in the polls--make him the Nominee! Get over the beef with Bernie!

Circe @255: Brokered Convention

Yes. This is what I've been warning against. It's nice to see you acknowledge it.

The Democratic Party is doing everything they can to have a brokered convention. But Bernie isn't doing everything he can ...

  1. ... to win
  2. - and -

  3. ... to prepare for a brokered convention.

To win:

Bernie should be confronting the Party and the media that uses identity politics to pit people against each other.

To prepare for the convention:

Bernie must abandon his pledge to support the Democratic Party candidate in the general election. To prevail in a brokered convention, Bernie must be able to bring to bear the full extent of the power of his Movement.

What evidence do we have such a betrayal?

Bernie's 2020 run is shaping up to be essentially a re-run of his 'sheepdogging' in 2016. In 2016 Bernie wouldn't do what it took to win and thus allowed Hillary to win - then he supported her in the General Election.

Why might Bernie NOT be doing what he needs to?

Because at heart he's a Zionist, who supports a Zionist Party and is good friends with lots of others in the powerful Zionist establishment.
