And the fake media must apologize for encouraging a Buttigieg victory that was a LIE when the results had been withheld due to irregularities.

This ..... is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! What a night! I'm just glad Bernie can claim victory and the culprit was caught red-handed trying to cheat Bernie out of everything he deserved to gain and celebrate with his 1st victory out of the gate.

And what about the volunteers and campaign staff who worked tirelessly for 3 years only to have the moment they deserved snatched away?

There has to be accountability.

Not sure what the "official" results will be.

I just realized something astounding. I am pretty sure now that the Wuhan coronavirus in China is a biowarfare weapon. Am also convinced it could never have escaped from any level P4 containment facility. This means that someone must have released it outside of, but right next to the Wuhan P4 lab, but it did not come from that lab. That P4 lab merely merely furnished 'plausible deniability'. Consider: the US's (ostensibly) biggest p4 biolab is located in Fort Detrick at Frederick, Maryland, a small city of ~70,000 people located way in the backwoods.

The Chinese made a terrible blunder by locating a P4 biolab near the center of a very highly urban region. This fellow says the Wuhan coronavirus is a biowarfare weapon, and he sounds very credible to me:

I don't know what kind of spin/lie the Democrat Party and the MSM will finally settle on, but here's a general comment on techno-electoralism.

These mounting f@ckups seem tailor-made to erode faith in electoralism. If it's not eroding your faith, it should be.

I doubt that's the system's goal - a fake "democracy" facade is a key part of the neoliberal formula. I'd put this in the same category as Boeing or Pentagon procurement, one of the ever-mounting boondoggles as their system becomes too complex and corporate-captured* for them to handle.

Also, they've long been snorting their own stuff where it comes to techno-wingnuttery. They really think all this e-voting improves their scam.

Finally, they're outsmarting themselves. They think only in terms of how techno-voting can be used for smooth invisible manipulation and fraud. They don't think of how big public screw-ups like this erode the ground of public faith and tolerance from under them.

*The corporate oligopoly sectors have broad agreement on policy and desired outcomes, but each individual corporation acts as a psychopath seeking to maximize its own grab of loot and power, while there's no coalition of elites with any particular power or perceived interest in restraining any particular psychopath. So gradually all outcomes except the maximal profit of contractors get squeezed out.

A fraud in Iowa is ongoing:

With Sanders headed to victory, Iowa Democratic Party blocks release of caucus results

If I were an American, I would gather popular support right now and try to mount the most pressure possible, because, if let loose, the people counting the votes will get their way.

Posted by: vk | Feb 4 2020 11:46 utc | 205

And people wonder why trust in Democracy is collapsing throughout the west, the corrupt political elites know their policies are hugely unpopular because they are CRUSHING the bottom 90% of citizens. So what do they do to keep from losing power, change their policies to be more popular? No, they try to cheat the real people's candidate in another backroom deal and when that fails the do it in the open! The only way Sanders can win is if his supporters get out in droves and if the DNC steals the nomination again, then no reconciliation with the DNC boycott the DNC and vote 3rd party down the whole ballot. The DNC is willing to lose the Presidency, but they won't be able to survive if they lose governorships and state capitals

Posted by: Kadath | Feb 4 2020 12:06 utc | 206

From the Grauniad (so you don't have to read it): "...[the app that supposedly failed to aggregate votes in the Iowa caucuses] was apparently developed by a firm literally called “Shadow”, partly funded by the Pete Buttigieg campaign."

I have mentioned before that Butt-gig is an obvious CIA mole - hell, it is too obvious to call a "mole", it's a nearly open CIA asset. Now it is revealed that the outfit that developed the vote-rigging software is called "Shadow" and is associated with Butt-gig?

The CIA's Harvard frat boys think themselves brilliant and they believe that you, Dear Readers, are morons. They love ridiculing you by announcing their presence in not-so-subtle code right to your face, confident that you are too stupid to ever figure it out.

One of the side effects (so to speak) of the coronavirus epidemic is we get to actually see and ponder news about the voluminous Amerikkkan/Western globalist companies dotting the Chinese landscape selling their unique brands of imperialist poison to the nouveau riche. A partial list of stores temporarily shutting down include:

Intercontinental Hotels
Kentucky Fried Chicken
Pizza Hut
Dairy Queen
Old Navy

One also wonders about the current status of the auto dealers and factories churning out Nissans, Volkswagens, Hondas, Buicks, Toyotas, y'know, 8 of the top 10 best selling cars in China.

Those plucky Arkansans, the Walton Family are bravely keeping the lights on, for now anyway, in their own 450 or so Chinese located retail bastions of cheap Chinese goods, WalMart and Sam's Clubs.

So far from wanting to bury China, the uber wealthy shareholders in the evil US Empire and its rancid satellite states in Europe and Asia are all loving on the world's largest and fasting growing consumer market, all under the watchful eye of that great Maoist institution, the CPC.

And our Dear Orange Leader is looking to hammer out a trade "deal" to end all Trade "deals" with the Maoists to raise the stock markets even higher just in time for hos re-election over the vast wasteland of the North Amerikkkan Graveyard.

You know when I create a voting app for an election, I think I'll name it "Daylight" or "Stand up", the fact these hack frauds would even consider naming their voting app "Shadow" shows their true contempt for the American voter. The Political elite have become so used to massaging voters to the acceptable candidates they now see obvious election fraud as a valid tactic as long as the correct ideological candidate wins.

Yer right.

I do not understand why there is, what the need is, for any "application" it because people can't trust their lyin' eyes?

A little story>
A few km north of my "LZ" there a little town. It's been there, and about the same size of 10,000 souls, since about 1850, and it was a Red Indian Town before that...I'd say 'bout 10,000 years.

Pretty much all the adult men (and they listened to their mothers) voted on pretty much everything they wanted to. Starting about 10,000 years ago. After the Red Indians were more or less liquidated, and the remote Indian bivouacs rounded up and marched overland toward the sea, the adult men still listened to their mothers and wives and still voted on pretty much whatever they wanted to vote about. The only difference was that when they voted it was by a show of hands in front of the Courthouse, wearing pistols...

What possible need can there be for an "application" except a it is a blindfold?

If you care to actually look at some data, the likelihood of the Wuhan coronovirus being natural and not a bioweapon/lab release is high.
Article covering important background for coronaviruses
In particular, a team has been testing bats around Wuhan for different viruses - and has found over 500.
The lab people have also been building profiles for coronavirus families.
SARS vs. Wuhan coronavirus

coronavirus vectors and types, including MERS

Plus this:

A team led by Shi Zheng-Li, a coronavirus specialist at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, reported on 23 January on bioRxiv that 2019-nCoV’s sequence was 96.2% similar to a bat virus and had 79.5% similarity to the coronavirus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), a disease whose initial outbreak was also in China more than 15 years ago. But the SARS coronavirus has a similarly close relationship to bat viruses, and sequence data make a powerful case that it jumped into people from a coronavirus in civets that differed from human SARS viruses by as few as 10 nucleotides. That’s one reason why many scientists suspect there’s an “intermediary” host species—or several—between bats and 2019-nCoV.

Circe at 145 wrote: I find it sad that people here believe that Trump and Brexit represent the collapse of the Empire when in fact nothing could be further from the truth.

I suppose by Empire is meant Pax Americana, or the US and its dependencies and vassals.

EU submission to the US has always been pretty constant (post WW2) but tricky nonetheless. It is a big block.. its touted ‘values’ - free movement(s), peace and prosperity, regulated commerce, and even in recent years some attempts at taxing GAFAMs, going after tax havens, oil and energy links with other countries, regulating banking, etc. etc. - don’t sit terrribly well with the US.

A first overt EU split arose re. the Iraq war, with Tony Blair putting alliance with the US above the EU (other EU were against.) This was repaired somewhat by the violent coup in Ukraine and its subsequent control and the invasion of Lybia….both of which were care of Obama and in the former, principally Merkel, the latter, Sarkozy. (Btw, that is not peace and prosperity..) Remember, Obama spoke out against Brexit, the old order of US control of one large entity, EU, as opposed to that of multiple pesky smaller entities, worked well. (Btw the largest US milit. occupation is in Italy, not Germany, imho.)

Trump has always shown he doesn’t support the existence of the EU and considers NATO too expensive, useless, etc.

Forward, GB will become a US vassal, a kind of 50- + state. GB hopes to strengthen ties (trade of course but not only, though the public info is about movement and trade) with the other 5-eyes (> didn’t see anything about a FTA beween GB and China!..) who may be uninterested, reluctant, make symbolic moves only, for various reasons too long to go into. One might even be that they see the new GB as a rival in SE Asia (?)

To accomplish anything, GB will need the support and protection of the US (and I wonder how much US money poured into Brexit agit-prop?) along the lines of - I was going to type Israel - but that is an exceptional example.. Which means that GB will have to join, for ex., efforts towards War with Iran (today’s front-line obsession.) A bad calculation for British ppl.

So Circe it is a mixed bag - a gradual erosion of US power (which is real, see rise of Russia and China) leads to creating more directly controlled dependencies, and GB does have an army!

Alfred McCoy says much the same as you, and he's IMHO correct. He also points out that Empires fail when the client states elites, the quisling finks and traitors that serve in the provenances, decide to change sides, or patrons.

This is happening before our eyes. And yes, it's gradual. It is however progressing at a nonlinear rate.

Here's a nice overview on how masses of metadata is useful - for deanonymization
Harvard de-anonymization study

I've mentioned - take that single data point representing online history, then add in a couple more data points such as location, physical address, phone number, social media ID/history, known relatives, etc and you can pretty much de-anonymize anything. More degrees of freedom/variables = less uniqueness/anonymity.

The intel agencies certainly have this level of detail down to single location/time stamps (location being a small area as opposed to a point); if they don't, they're incompetent.

The ads for "find that phone number" or "find that person" - at least some are "gray" databases which use precisely the above techniques to filter through to the target person.

Tareq Haddad, the journalist who resigned from Newsweek over his editors’ refusal to publish a story on OPCW whistleblowers’ revelations, has launched his own YouTube channel “Conversations” where he interviews independent journalists and analysts.

I watched an episode with Eva Bartlett (1:13:15) and I enjoyed it. I liked how the same story of becoming increasingly suspicious of the Western media narrative was told from two opposing sides: that of an MSM journalist and that of a citizen activist/journalist. Turns out, Eva’s work on Syria was one of the reasons Tariq started questioning the narrative in the first place. He told Eva of how he was trying to find a way to quote her in one of his articles.

Please consider supporting Tariq with views, subscriptions to his channel (if you have a YouTube account) or money (Patreon, PayPal).

There is nothing more exhilirating than the scent of desparation in the morning.

Peeps here know I don't subscribe to the notion that there is a single cabal (Deep State) that mysteriously controls all aspects of Americans lives but rather that we have an abundance of evil greedy people. This is a 'feature' of capitalism. With so few having acquired so much of the wealth of America, there are fewer and fewer areas where these greedy people can further multiply their wealth. The results are that they have begun to not only increase their theft from the working class, ( a pound of sausage @ $2.99 now weighs only 11 ounces) they have begun to feed upon each other.

The fact that they are no longer even trying to hide their machinations, is indicative of how little regard they hold for the common man/woman. They do exactly what Karl Rove explained link:

“We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”

I find myself spending too much of time merely chasing headlines and becoming an insta-expert on the 72 hour topic of the moment. It becomes difficult to maintain focus...

However, lest we forget, and not recall their previous indiscretions, the DNC has
they are under no obligation to provide a fair election and candidates are aware that the DNC can rig the process to favor whomever they choose.

I find it terribly silly to rant and complain when your candidate is not the chosen one. Who wants to be a party to that joke?

Also, Circe is a female. Men don't argue like that. ;)

[Sidenote: Lambert Strether of Corrente recommended Qwant as a replacement search engine for that which shall not be named. I have been fiddling with it since December and have been very pleased. Unlike startpage and other alt search engines, Qwant does not use 'that which shall not be named' search algorithms and provides a seemingly more balanced set of search results. No, you do not have to install an extension to set qwant as your homepage.]

c1ue at 223 I am curious why you think GB will "become" a US vassal, as opposed to already is. You yourself..

In the sense that the vassalage will have to be acknowledged publically, openly displayed as the US will demand that, it it part of the price.

The alliance aka submission will be across the board in many areas and sort of patchy stabs at this or that minor thing in many areas (e.g. in banking, military, etc.) will take place over time. I expect the first signs will be in trade - chloro chicken, med prices, all that.

So the change is in public status, in respect accorded, in perceived alliances, perhaps as you imply not really a deep, fundamental change, I'd agree...Some even say GB was a tool of the US since 1945 and only in the EU to control, influence, sabotage.... (not my pov.)

The public status matters in world affairs, ex. relation with the EU, who “loathe” Trump (which cutely lets them imply “not the US, just Trump” hinting at “we will sit it out until a new Obiman appears”, etc.)

Posted by: Noirette | Feb 5 2020 15:25 utc | 233

230 'gainst Iran. Yes. But of course, the "enemy" gets a vote about how the response goes. Both Ru and Ir have made "promises" about that. These seem to say that the command centers and launch points will be liquidated. The enormous US submarines may launch, but immediately after that...Commander Kaputski gets to vote. The US boats are lots easier to discover when they open the hatch... Lt Commander Hubris better watch his rear.

But harking back to those happy days, the 1930's... A Jolly new book, and all of that. Inspiring! "Hitler’s American Model The United States and the Making of Nazi Race Law" James Q. Whitman
