B(o)r-exit

The Ukraine elected a comedian for president. Great Britain felt a need to top that. The members of the ruling party thus chose a clown to become the UK's next prime minister.

Boris Johnson - bigger

Johnson will bury the remnants of the former empire.

My sincere condolences to people of Britain.

There are two alternate universes in Britain: One where Jeremy Corbyn is hopelessly unpopular and another where he has a good chance to win the next election.

Seems to me that Labour does have a good chance of winning in Britain's simple majority takes it all parliament system.

Judging from Johnson's parliament speech he is trying to offer a non-austerity, non-racist/anti-immigrant Brexit option versus Corbyn who has finally come out on the side of remain.

Johnson will lose to Farage and the Brexit party this way. Brexit is based on racism, I don't see how the concept could work without. He already seems to have lost Scotland.

The only chance for Boris Johnson to come out of this is either the EU save him by offering a deal without the backstop - they won't - or Corbyn and others bringing him down to avoid a no-deal Brexit - they will have to. He can then blame them for not having achieved Brexit.

The EU seems to offer to start negotiations on the final agreement, but that would involve acceptance of the preliminary agreement including the backstop.

If Britain thinks they can get an advantageous deal with the US they are deluded. Trump tries to protect US jobs.

Thatcher was the ideal Prime Minister during the Reagan era. Blair was the same in the Bush era. Johnson seems to me the ideal candidate for the Trump era.
