I’ve been seeing rightwing headlines about a “Green New Deal” mocking ‘farting cows’, paying people who are ‘unwilling to work’, and banning airplanes. When finally located the full text of the GND document, I didn’t seen that stuff. Turns out there was a “draft document” which was somehow put on the internet.
About this sort of thing I’m simply paranoid, for I suspect that accident wasn’t any kind of accident. From the wiki:

There are a lot of people with motivation to infiltrate the Green New Deal and attempt to discredit it. Big Energy is just one of many. This is the sort of thing Police do when their undercover men join a protest and do their best to get criminal acts happening.
Sadly, it could also be an inside job. I recall how Hillary singlehandedly destroyed the first attempt to provide national health care – this when the bit¢h was merely First Housewife without a speck of authority. The Democrats have shown zero interest in combatting climate change – except of course by running their mouths a lot. So a potential saboteur could just as easily be a Dem as a Repub.
People who cannot work to support themselves deserve a lot of help. People who refuse to work deserve very little assistance, but I’m unwilling to execute them for that. They’d get enough to eat, and be housed in bare-bones barracks. (this assumes a living wage job was available to them – and most certainly not in the course of a hopeless Thirties Depression situation)
The airplane ban was what raised my suspicions. This is simply too stupid to be any kind of an accident.
Farting cows: that’s a problem because this is how cows evolved. There are several solutions.
One: kill all the cows, goats, and sheep, then eat different protein animals. Problem: pigs are not permissible to Jews or Muslims. Another issue: one reason humans have prospered is because of this work-around method of eating grass. And a lot of that pasture isn’t flat enough for many other useful forms of agriculture.
Two: do something REALLY dumb and try to impose worldwide vegetarianism. That would be another confirmation to me of an attempt to sabotage the GND program.
Three: bite the bullet and let the cows pass all the gass they feel necessary.
At this stage of the game we simply must begin removing CO2 from the atmosphere, and we’d just add a few more CO2 factories to do that for as long as people want to eat the cows, sheep, and goats.

The article portrays the movement as waning but with qualifiers. I look at the numbers and see a drop in Paris but otherwise steady since last week. Marcon is on the stump trying to sell his R2P but how successful will he be?

Loans at interest are unrepayable as the interest component is not issued into circulation. Borrowing has to increase and be continual to keep up with the compound interest rate. As borrowers become less, new debt free borrowers have to be imported to sustain the need for continued growth. In this case the Banks are killing two birds with one stone by diluting Christianity with non Christian immigrants.

Let’s not make the mistake of assuming that Christianity in the West during the Enlightenment was the same as Christianity now. During the 1700s, the Roman Catholic Church was still a major landowner in parts of Europe and the Americas. The Inquisition was still active in Portugal, Spain and their empires. The Catholic Church could have been a highly repressive and authoritarian organisation.
Social classes as we know and understand them might not have existed during the 1700s, at least not in the proportions that they exist in now. Industrialisation was limited to Britain at the time and perhaps even then factory workers were in a minority as part of the nation’s workforce.

Returning to trees – it’s such a simple solution, or at least major aid, that no one will ever adopt it. Another simple solution which will not happen is – Pick Up The Trash!

A couple of years back, I researched hindutva. I found several English language Hindutva site and some sanskrit. Sanskrit does not machine translate very well, but they came across in a similar same veiw point as the en sites.
Much touchy feely stuff on the main pages, but the fine print pages where different.
They consider themselves as destines to rule the world, consider themselves aryans and that aryans are a group of people that are above all others.
Several years back their websites stated that the US was the only non imperialist country (beacon of freedom type thing). They hate communism and say they hate China for that reason. When I checked on their websites a few months ago, the section on US being non imperialist was gone as I could not find)
They say they plan to end the class system in India, yet communism, which, going by their websites they hate, was an ideology that destroyed class systems ( though I take it new classes, even if unspoken, could still be born within communism)
It was around the time that Modi signed up he military deal with the US that I researched Hindutva.
Watching India from that time, it is very much as you say “India has big plan , it figures that the shortest path to ‘greatness’ is thru Washington.”
Though I have been thinking along the lines that Hindutva’s, in their delusions, think they can use the US as a ladder to cimb to their rightful position as the leader of the world.

There seems to be a basic misunderstanding about the nature of Nuclear fission. The main product of a runaway fission event is the instant release of a vast quantity of heat. Above ground this heat is transferred to the adjacent air which expands rapidly creating a blast effect.
In an underground runaway fission event the heat is transferred to adjacent rock/mineral structures which, unlike gases, only expand slightly in response to being super-heated. The typical result of an underground N-test is a big, approximately spherical, glass-lined cavity.

No, I hadn’t seen it. I think it’s brilliant. I had a quibble or two with the description of money issuance but none with the conclusion that it must correspond to the underlying flow of goods and services. I shall send that, together with the BoE 2014 1st quarter report, to any one still hankering after MMT – that most dangerous of illusions if allowed to inform the thinking of those responsible for controlling money supply.
Germany will not be able to carry the EZ. Even setting aside the Target 2 balances fiscal transfer on that scale, even if possible, won’t be accepted by the German voters – or none that I’ve met. They just won’t have it. Nor will the degree of supervision required to effect fiscal transfer be acceptable to the southern countries. The EU honeymoon was great for those countries while it lasted but now it’s well and truly over.
To some extent the richer northern countries of the EZ are buying sales. They are also getting the benefit of their currency being held down by the non-performing economies. The Americans are right when they say this is unfair competition but more importantly it’s not viable long term.
When that lot unravels we’ll all look back on Brexit and wonder what the fuss was about. Because the EZ falling apart is going to be truly cataclysmic and it’ll take the EU with it. I can’t believe what’s happened to the super-solid German economy of only twenty or so years ago. Going in for outsourcing, buying sales, those ultra safe German banks now playing around with derivatives – they are going the route we in England have taken for so long and I don’t see how they can avoid following us down. Not with the EZ round their necks as well.
Then there’s the stuff the commenters here on “b”‘s site are more concerned with – societal decay and the pretty near psychotic actions of our governing elites. Who could have believed even a short time ago that we’d be looking at 6” artillery destroying ancient cities and none of them giving a damn. After more of the same, in fact. And getting it.
I was in Germany just after the Brexit vote. It came out that I’d voted “leave” and they were genuinely shocked. Has this man got two heads or something, was the mood. I said I could feel no affection for an EU that was, together with its constituent states, aiding neo-nazis in the Ukraine. They all looked away.
It’s a dangerous mess, the EU now. The days of a Europe des Patries are long gone if they were ever really there. Time to get out from under. Not as if we hadn’t got equally serious problems of our own to deal with. We won’t even start to do that if we’re still tangled up with the insoluble disaster that is the EU now.

mourning dove, to answer your comment on the previous page, I will say I thought for some time that we have been talking at different levels of discussion. I agree with much of what you say on the subject of fallible leadership, but only do take the Constitution for what it is, regardless of the qualities of those who brought it about. The document itself wasn’t put together by a group of likeminded individuals – there were indeed persons sympathetic to all citizens, and many who had fought, lost comrades in the war with England, just as some also had fought against the French with losses to native tribes allied with them. I don’t think this could be classed as genocide, although I too have read a lot of recent scholarship demonstrating the terrible devastating losses from the exposure to European disease which wiped out flourishing civilizations in the Americas. It wasn’t deliberate genocide but it did happen.
You say: “My complaints about the constitution and it’s framers isn’t in the text of the document but in it’s hypocracy.” I say, take the document, in its full force of legality, and criticize those who don’t follow it, but a document can’t be hypocritical. It means what it says. Those who signed it meant it to be the law of the land. I credit them for that, not for their imperfections; they do not matter. The Constitution matters.

What I mean to say, mourning dove, is that we have the same horror of the worst atrocities that have been inflicted upon native people, poor people, of slavery and of every abuse power has perpetrated on those weaker than themselves. We do need a more honorable government than the one we have now; we need one that honors the Constitution.
