Coincidence? – Chief Nurse Of British Army Was First To Arrive At Novichoked Skripal Scene

On March 4 2018 the British/Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found incapacitated on a bench in Salisbury. The British government asserts that they were affected by a chemical poison of the so called Novichok group. The case led to a diplomatic conflict as Britain accused Russia of an attempt to kill the Skripals. No evidence was provided by the British government to support those accusations. The Skripals have since been vanished.

Today an intriguing new detail of the case came to light. Spire FM, a local radio station in Salisbury, reports of a young woman, Abigail McCourt, who was given a 'Lifesaver Award' for her involvement in the Skripal case:

The 16 year old, from Larkhill, was the first to spot two people collapsed on a bench in the Maltings on March 4th and didn't hesitate to help. Abigail quickly alerted her mum, a qualified nurse, who was nearby and together they gave first aid to the victims until paramedics arrived.

It soon became clear this was no ordinary medical incident, but the poisoning of a former Russian spy Sergei Skripal, and his daughter Yulia, with Novichok.

Immediately following the incident and with the world's media focused on Salisbury, the pair didn't want any want press attention and kept their involvement quiet.

But Abby's mum now feels the time is right for her daughter to be recognised for the "incredible" way she dealt with the scenario. Alison nominated her for the Lifesaver Award at Spire FM's Local Hero Awards, and the judges were unanimous in their decision that Abigail was a very worthy winner.

Earlier reports mentioned that a 'military nurse' had attended to the Skripals. Following the above report Elena Evdokimova checked the name of the young woman's mothers and found a curiosity:

Elena Evdokimova @elenaevdokimov7 – 10:50 utc – 19 Jan 2019

We were right, it was Alison McCourt who was that"unknown military nurse" who, absolutely randomly, happened to be near the bench where #Skripals collapsed . Spire FM alleges that it was her daughter Abigail alerted her, but no one mentioned her before …

Here is the thing. Alison McCourt is not just one random 'off-duty army nurse'. She is the Chief Nursing Officer for the British Army in the rank of Colonel:

Colonel A L McCourt OBE ARRC QHN – Assistant Head Health Strategy / Chief Nursing Officer (Army) – Senior Health Advisor (Army) Department.

Colonel McCourt was appointed Chief Nursing Officer on February 1 2018, just one month before the Skripal incident happened. Colonel McCourt lives in Larkhill, a garrison town some 11 miles from Salisbury. She is known to visit elsewhere.

There is a discrepancy between the Spire FM report and Alison McCourt's narrative of the event in the video [Update Jan 21 – the video has been taken down] posted with the Spire report. The written report only mentions Abigal McCourt and her mother. But in the video the mother speaks of "Abigal and the rest of our family" who were the first to arrive at the Skripal poisoning scene. She continues to contrast "Abigal" and "we" and later again "Abigal" and "the rest of us" meaning that there were more persons on the scene than just the mother and the daughter. In a recorded interview at the bottom of the Spire FM page Abigal says that it was her brothers birthday and that "we" were out celebrating it. (She also mentions that "the woman [Yulia Skripal] was not breathing at the time we found her." How then could she vomit?)

In 2014 the Daily Mail reported (video) on Colonel Alison McCourt's deployment as British mission leader to Sierra Leone where she helped to fight the highly infectious Ebola disease. According to that report McCourt is married and has two children. Her son must by now be fourteen. There is no further information available about her husband.

via Daily Mailbigger

Neither Colonel McCourt nor her daughter were affected by the extremely dangerous Novichok with which the Skripals were allegedly poisoned. But what about the other persons, her son and her husband, who were also at the scene? What were they doing?

No additional information about the McCourts has so far come to light.

Isn't it an extremely unlikely coincidence that the first person who 'by chance' attends to the Skripals is the top nurse of the British army? An experienced officer, highly connected, who is also know for handling highly infectious patients? Who wrote the script for this enthralling saga (rec.)?

This is one of the many, many 'coincidences', curiosities and lies that make the official Skripal poisoning narrative so unbelievable.

There are also many indications that the case is related to other British government operations. Indeed the whole Skripal incident might well have been staged.

Pablo Miller, the MI6 agent who recruited, handled and befriended Sergei Skripal, also worked for Orbis Ltd. Orbis is the company of the 'former' MI6 agent Christopher Steele who was paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign to write the 'Dirty Dossier' about alleged Trump connections to Moscow. Soon after the Skripal incident happened, the British government released a D-Notice that prohibited British media from further mentioning Pablo Miller's name and thereby the relation of the two cases.

bigger

Long before the Skripal incident happened an experienced Russia scholar asserted that the Steele dossier was written by someone trained by Soviet intelligence. It is thus quite possible that Sergej Skripal, the former Russian spy, was an informant or even author of the Steele dossier about Trump.

The recently exposed British military intelligence operation Integrity Initiative has shown extensive interest in the media echo the Skripal case had in various countries. Curiously one of its papers lists Pablo Miller, the Skripal handler, as a contact of the Integrity Initiative's leader Colonel Chris Nigel Donnelly.

bigger

There is additional suspicion that the Integrity Initiative, whose primary function is to stoke Russophobia, was one of the brains behind the Skripal incident.

The Initiative was also involved in the Steele dossier and the russophobic anti-Trump campaign. Andrew Wood, a former British ambassador to Moscow, is employed by the Institute for Statecraft, the shadowy parent organization of the Integrity Initiative funded by the Ministry of Defense and Foreign Office. It was Andrew Wood who helped to disseminate the Steele dossier to U.S. Senator John McCain. McCain then gave the dossier to FBI Director James Comey. The FBI used the dossier first to get FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign, and, after Comey was fired, to launch a counter-intelligence investigation (section 3) against Trump himself.

Here is a theory how all this may come together. Back in 2015 the Institute of Statecraft and its russophobic director Colonel Donnelly discussed how to increase sanctions on Russia. In 2016 the Steele dossier was created in an attempt to connect Trump to Russia. Steele's colleague Pablo Miller and his spy Sergei Skripal were quite likely involved in creating the dossier. The dossier was disseminated with the help of Donnelly's Institute of Statecraft.

For some reason the Skripals had to be taken out. Sergei Skripal probably threatened to spill the beans about the dossier after it became public.  The highly scripted 'Novichok' incident in Salisbury was staged to remove Skripal and to smear Russia with an alleged murder attempt. Colonel McCourt, the trusted army nurse, was asked to help on the scene. After the Skripal incident, and with no evidence shown, Russia was blamed and massive sanctions followed. The Integrity Initiative, the propaganda arm of the Institute of Statecraft, analyzes the media results of the Skripal affair and continues to stoke the anti-Russia campaign.

It might be possible that Steele's 'dirty dossier', the Skripal case and the Integrity Initiative operation are unrelated. But that chance for that now tends towards zero.

Nationalism has many guises – not least of which is fascism: the merging of corporate and state interests.
Sanders is very much not fascist. You seem to conflate nationalizing health care (nationalization tends to be a socialist activity) with nationalism as politics. Sanders doesn’t say MAGA, for example. Nor is he particularly leaning one way or the other re: Israel. He has supported programs like the F35 – but that’s pure local jobs politics.

Posted by: c1ue | Jan 20 2019 19:46 utc | 101

Nationalism does have many guises-and the Welfare State is one of them. Fascism is something very different, with its own origins, but it is basically a means of combating socialism. And radical nationalism.
Sanders is a Welfare State nationalist. And a populist. Both of which are infinitely superior to the anti-politics practised by the Democrats, who do everything they can to keep the real issues, which have to do with control of the economy, out of the political arena.
So far as Fast Freddie’s points are concerned: why should the Deep State care about tax cuts? The only answer I can think of is that many of their publicists feast off crumbs from Capitalism’s table. But the Deep State, the mandarinate and the spooks, the cops and the Pentagon have no real interest in tax cuts for the rich. And this will become particularly apparent as the cost, in terms of popular support, for Deep State priorities is diminished as people are asked to shoulder the entire burden themselves.
That is already beginning to happen and the Deep State is going to have to decide whether to join the winners or the losers in the coming struggle.
Look at France and look, particularly for evidence that the bloc behind Macron is beginning to crack as the news begins to get through to the ruling class that the people in yellow vests are not going to get beaten.
In the States it looks very much as if the ruling elites cannot wait for the yellow vests to come out; they are positively provoking mass reactions to their idiocy. They have already got the, notoriously conservative, teachers on strike, despite their unions. Who is next?
It is just the moment for Sanders and shrewd operators in the State know it.

My responses to your last comment:

… Sanders is the real populist… the Deep State is scared to death by populism of any kind.
You seem to be confused. I am not saying that Obama or Trump are populists. I’m saying that they PRETENDED to be populists to get elected against establishment opponents.
I’ve said many times that no true populist can be elected in USA’s money-driven political system. The only populism they approve of is the faux populism of Obama and Trump.
the Deep State is dumb
Not really. Among other things, it has created an empire, won the Cold War, and fooled people into believing they live in a democracy. But it has also made mistakes (naturally).
IMO the biggest mistake was continuing to aid China’s “peaceful rise” before bringing Russia into the Western fold. The failure to win Russia was evident before 2000. US/NATO had, in fact, alienated Russia. But the Deep State had no good reason to turn off the Chinese money spigot. They reasoned that Russia was bleeding on the mat but had not tapped out yet. They just needed to apply a little more pressure… a little more … a little more …
The Western response to their own goal is Cold War II – ’cause neocons always double-down on failure.

Once again, Sanders is not credible as an American nationalist. He just isn’t.
Here’s a simple and stark test: If there is a war, how many new recruits will join the armed forces to fight for:

Establishment darling Hillary in her pantsuit uniform?
Jewish kibbutz-er Sanders?
MAGA Trump?

Sanders populism is based on economics, not patriotism. The American Jewish community’s relationship with Israel makes it difficult for ANY Jewish American to rally Americans to war in the Middle East (and probably anywhere else). Opposition to wars entered into by a Jewish American President would CERTAINLY drag up all Jewish business interests that benefit and the prior wars (esp. Iraq) that USA fought which largely benefited Israel.

The war in Iraq was conceived by 25 neoconservative intellectuals, most of them Jewish, who are pushing President Bush to change the course of history.

Noirette@96 – “Dr No-Name. Treats Yulia on the ground for 30 mins! (This persona may be a legend, confused with the Nurse?)
It seems pretty certain (to me) that this was Col. McCloud, and BBC either got her medical background wrong or intentionally called her a doctor to obscure her identity. I posted a quote from a BBC article on B’s weekly summary post.
Oddity: Five ppl describe nerve-agent type poisoning symptoms (foaming mouth ..), as opposed to opioid, e.g. heroin, fentanyl, other, appearance / state / symptoms.
Foaming at the mouth is a known symptom of opioid overdose, as well as vomiting.
Fentanyl and Carfentanil can both sometimes produce stiffness and seizures in overdose. In extreme overdose cases (well into brain damage), there are a couple of peculiar stiffness ‘postures’ – decerebrate (extended feet and arms) and decorticate (feet inward, clenched fists at chest). Those seemingly wouldn’t apply to Julia as they show her (or someone being her) relatively healthy again.
No idea what they were poisoned with, but the descriptions are certainly not inconsistent with Fentanyl/Carfentanil ingestion. Or doorknobichok™, for that matter. Or whatever other kind of rat poison MI6 or Hillary Clinton, herself (my guess) had handy.

Posted by: PavewayIV | Jan 20 2019 22:43 utc | 106

Did anyone ever have an explanation for why Julia was even being ‘looked after’ for 30 minutes? That seems like an unusually long time for an ambulance to respond and cart someone off in that kind of medical distress. I also seem to recall a lot of ambiguity on whether anyone actually gave her CPR. That would be absolutely exhausting just giving chest compressions for that amount of time.

Posted by: PavewayIV | Jan 20 2019 22:54 utc | 107

How could this ‘courageous’ nurse and her daughter administer to two people allegedly poisoned by a highly toxic nerve agent, unprotected (it’s extremely unlikely mom had hazmat gear for the family in her purse) and not end up in the hospital (or worse) themselves?
None of the medics or hospital personnel who cares for the Skirpals appear to have been affected either.

I think she was given standard organophosphate poisoning treatment right away, atropine and maybe oxime.
https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/neuroscience/oximes
The military nurse would certainly be qualified to suspect a nerve agent. She presumably also kind of knew/suspected Skripal’s background.

Posted by: somebody | Jan 20 2019 23:00 utc | 109

You’re all wrong. Salisbury is great for shopping, especially for hazmat suits and stuff like that. Given the illustrious institutions nearby that’s no surprise, right? So Colonel McCourt and her head-girl daughter were doing just that, some innocent shopping. Chemical warfare is not only the Colonel’s profession, it’s also a shared hobby with mother and daughter. And it just so happened they had bought some new-in-stores hazmat suits and gas masks, among other items. When the daughter stumbled across the ghastly scene with the Skripals all retching and slouched on that bench, she had a hunch, and donned her equipment. Good call, as it turned out. That way, she could effectively help the two without getting in harm’s way at all herself. It’s that simple, nothing to it. Deal with it!
Haw haw.

It’s right that, I have in mind since this greasy theater play came to public. The hole Scripal story as it was told us has never happend. The true story is just that simple: The Scripals were kidnapped, murdered and the world was presented with a cooked-up story to harm Russia. I’m convinced to believe that because of the fact that the Scripals have vanished since the story began and never were seen again by a trustworthy person or members of a trustworthy institution.

In my newest conspiracy theory, bevin has grown so tired of jackrabbit’s persistent and mind-numbing conspiracy theory that he created his own anti-ballistic nonsense (ABN) system to vaporise Jakrabbit’s persistent and mind-numbing ballistic nonsense a “Deep State” something or other who created “Deep State Trump” faking as a populist in order to advance the secretive interests of this shadowy entity/nonentity which seeks the total annilation of the multiverse or this blog, not necessarily in that order.
You see, it is personally very important to me that bevin remains always front and center in my mind as the best of the best and when his comments in this thread to JR are viewed in this cold conspiratorial light he does, actually!
Sanders as a radical nationalist! LMAO. Take that JR! Your “Obama as a fake populist” has finally been eviscerated. (Not that this will keep you from posting at least a thousand or more comments in every. single. MOA. Thread. repeating. what. you. already. repeated. And, as always, yet again, opening with still another “As I have been saying…” gambit). Well-played, JR. Well-played. Check and Mate to whatever tiny sliver of sanity remains [deeply-submerged] in my l’il donkeybrain.
The goal of Bevin’s ingenious ABN defense is the use of one nonsense (Sanders “radical nationalism”) to cancel out Jackrabbit’s (“Trump was elected by teh Deep State to thwart Hillary because he was more useful to the Deep State than “Deep State Hillary”, who was created fully formed in the image of the Deep State by the Deep State to always further the goals of the Deep State—oh yeh, and Goldman too—“) before any of the rest of us can be fatally inflicted with a dose.
Bevin, thank you for your service, sir. A grateful blogger bows deeply in your direction a-way up north there in Soviet Canuckistan.

RUSSIA PLANTED SKRIPAL–MILLER–TRUMP CONSPIRACY!
The Telegraph printed this on Sunday:

Kremlin accused of laying false trail linking Sergei Skripal to ex-MI6 officer behind Trump dossier
Russian intelligence created a false trail linking the double agent Sergei Skripal to the former MI6 officer behind the Trump dossier before carrying out the Salisbury nerve agent attack, the Telegraph has been told.
Well-placed sources now believe that the plot to kill Col Skripal may have included a ‘black ops’ attempt to sow doubt on the veracity of the explosive dossier that claims Donald Trump received Kremlin backing. The year before the attempted assassination of Col Skripal, a mysterious post on LinkedIn suggested his MI6 handler, who is not being named, worked as a “senior analyst” at Orbis Business Intelligence, the firm that produced the Trump dossier. Orbis was co-founded by Christopher Steele…
But a number of sources said the Linkedin profile was false – if it ever existed at all – and that the MI6 handler never worked for Orbis.
It is now suspected that the Linkedin profile was created by the GRU, the Russian military intelligence unit that tried to kill Col Skripal.
One reason might be to connect MI6 to Skripal’s murder and to flag the possibility that the British secret service was behind the Trump dossier.
(Paywall but you can access a free version here.)

This is what fake news media do when the truth is about to leak out: They publish a factual account of the events – i.e. MI6 poisoned Skripal – but claim that it is just disinformation coming from the enemy. Readers are being prepared for when the dam breaks.

There is no point in arguing over definitions as vague as those being dealt with. If you don’t regard Sanders as a radical nationalist it matters not at all. I would argue that he can be thus described but it isn’t important.
The only definition that is important here is that of the Deep State to which JR attributes the qualities of a Deus ex Machina: it is responsible for everything in politics. Which means that it is a united organism, unriven by factions, philosophical or otherwise, and is unfailing in its interventions.
I disagree on all counts. Such a shadow GHQ doesn’t exist. The Deep State is something much more amorphous, much harder to locate and pin down, closer to being what is called The Establishment in the UK.
Who cares?
One thing I will disagree with is JR’s claim that the US Deep State built an empire. They did nothing of the sort. Nor did the ruling class. Inherited an Empire from Europe is more like it. And they have the USSR to thank for being allowed to pick up the legacy in 1945.

Paveway 108, you are right, particularly for GB.. i did not realise that symptom lists for different substances differ so much between cultures then, i twigged that my mental list is based on no fentanyl (+ derivatives) overdoses. > although we have plenty of heroin addicts here, they get to shoot up on ‘prescription’ so don’t take anything else.
still – i found it very odd that the witnesses who describe more than spaced out / somnolent / enjoying the high ‘druggies’ don’t describe the people themselves at all. plus, the descr. of Yulia is way off.
anyway it is probably chasing chimeras, imho this mystery isn’t going to be ‘solved’, inverted commas needed, by ‘solved’ i mean a reasonable hypothesis that fits with a good part of the ‘known’ or ‘attested to’ (shaky ground indeed) or suspected facts, news, reports, investigations, speculations, etc. (e.g. MH17 has been ‘solved’ in this sense.)
what took place was covered up and obfuscated by a noyer le poisson strategy, drown the fish, throw piles of contradictory news, statements, pictures, leads, as well as actions, out there, that way the conspiracy theorists get a grip (novichok on a door handle, really? fingertip search in a park wearing space suits, what ho?).. they ate lunch here? or there? total confusion sets in, with the result that nobody can figure out what went down.
very interesting in itself, imho shows this was NOT some smooth plot, it was ** x*s!!… stuff blame russia** drama.

Noirette@128 – That’s why it’s best to just trust the experts – like Bellingcat – in these matters.
Related: I tossed out a snarky comment re: MI-6 on a Charles Shoebridge thread and was schooled by Iridium Tea on a readily available clinical test for acetylcholinesterase activity (inhibited by nerve agents). He/she rightly points out that the hospital could have tested for AChE inhibition, which is not the mechanism of either Fentanyl or Scopolamine.
I was implying that if it was a Brit Intel scheme to kill the Skripals (false flag or whatever), then Porton Down may have came up with ‘Novichok’, in part, to misdirect NHS doctors treating the Skripals and have them finish the job for them. I pointed out once before here that in old-school U.S. CW training, we were told the evil Soviets had plans to mix nerve agents for this exact purpose when they came streaming through the Fulda Gap to invade Western Europe. The idea was that the standard nerve agent antidote (Atropine & other goodies) would end up killing victims because the nerve agent weapons were not ‘just’ standard Gx/Vx AChE inhibitors, but mixed with something else. If they didn’t kill us outright, our antidotes would finish the job. I have little doubt we had some similar nerve agent stew squirreled away for use against them.
