Posted by: nhs | Aug 26 2018 18:43 utc | 1 Just read out on the Internet that the Orc-lover, McCain has croaked! May he roast, slowly, in Hell! Posted by: Antoinetta III | Aug 26 2018 19:01 utc | 2 Beware Posted by: Jackrabbit | Aug 26 2018 19:22 utc | 3 this nhs thing is interesting.. why does nhs do it and why does b skip saying anything about it? i am mildly curious.. Posted by: james | Aug 26 2018 19:36 utc | 4 When they announced the end of McCain’s treatment, I knew that WE were in for some ugly treatment. Still, I’m surprised today by how sickening the obituaries actually are. Yes, it’s hilarious. What’s strange in this day and age is that the comments section has gone uncensored and people like Caitlin Johnstone have showed up to defend themselves. (So far at least).
From what I can tell from his Medium history, he was picked up bc of some screed he wrote to The Independent’s editors about Robert Fisk and how he should be unpersoned for questioning the official story in Syria. Apparently this is all one has to do now to become an internationally-renowned expert. Shout down the rational voices, get hired. One no longer gets ahead by mimicry, you have to smear someone righteous. It’s a sort of humiliation ritual I guess. Posted by: sejomoje | Aug 26 2018 21:13 utc | 9 Spudski, Caitlin’s website is being attacked. I’m surprised it ever functions smoothly tbh, with the hounds of hell nip-nipping at it. Posted by: sejomoje | Aug 26 2018 21:14 utc | 10 Caitlin also writes at Medium. Her current articles are all there including the one above about McCain. Posted by: sejomoje | Aug 26 2018 21:19 utc | 11 medium is a very dubious website at best.. the article by kester ratfuck is really quite pathetic.. oh well. hopefully the pay is good! i see he missed moa / b and pat lang… so much for his lame ass list.. Posted by: james | Aug 26 2018 21:28 utc | 13 I concur heartily with Caitlin Johnstone’s plea, but it may already have been overtaken by events. The tsunami of posthumous glurge in response to McCain’s death is astonishing. Posted by: Ort | Aug 26 2018 21:30 utc | 14 The self-proclaimed Social-Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s words praising the late War Criminal John McCain prove she’s not what she declares. There was also info posted providing evidence she’s linked to the Soros machine, but I can’t recall where I saw it so I can’t provide the link. The alleged Soros connection might be a scam, but nobody forced her to write about a person worthy only of scorn at best. Posted by: karlof1 | Aug 26 2018 21:44 utc | 15 HRW has always been garbage – and since Ken Roth’s been in charge; unbagged, stinking street garbage. How many times did he “accidentally” post pics of war torn Gaza as “Assad’s”Syria, and “Qadaffi’s” Libya before that? He only grudglingly apologized for the last instance where showed Gaza as “Aleppo”, and only because his twatter was overcome with protest tweets. Posted by: sejomoje | Aug 26 2018 21:46 utc | 16 On the imminent ‘chemical attack by the Russians’ take a moment to read Israel Shamir’s excellent piece at Unz review: Posted by: uncle tungsten | Aug 26 2018 21:55 utc | 17 McCain is alleged to have received large donations from nathaniel rothschild (London) and Saudi Arabia Posted by: Pft | Aug 26 2018 21:55 utc | 18 The average person has an IQ of around 96. It used to be 100. About 40% of people run between 60 and 85. She interned with Kennedy who was good friends with McCain. Interesting that both died on the date of the same cancer (Glioblastomas ) Posted by: Pft | Aug 27 2018 1:26 utc | 28 The subject of SST’s latest piece is the demise of John McCain. I wanted to say something unflattering about him but the author of the SST piece summed up my feelings toward McCain with delicious brevity in his closing sentence… Posted by: Hoarsewhisperer | Aug 27 2018 2:45 utc | 29 Top Individual Contributors: All Federal Contributions 2018 Posted by: ben | Aug 27 2018 3:09 utc | 30 Ben@30 Posted by: Pft | Aug 27 2018 4:17 utc | 31 Pft (19): Posted by: Antares | Aug 27 2018 6:39 utc | 32 As a contribution to the occasional commentary on the capture of social networks by the MIC I offer the IMDB page for A Snipers War Posted by: Debsisdead | Aug 27 2018 7:04 utc | 33 John McCain’s eternal legacy is the presentation of Sarah Palin als a bona fide US political sex bomb. Posted by: karlof1 | Aug 27 2018 15:58 utc | 50 Ancient loosely democratic systems mostly worked because they involved mostly people who didn’t work, or worked part-time, and had slaves (Athens) or plebeian servants and clients (Rome) doing most of the work for them. That’s a key reason why I think massive reduction of working time is required to have a democratic system in our societies. Posted by: Karlof1 | Aug 27 2018 16:07 utc | 51 https://mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKCN1LC16T Posted by: Circe | Aug 27 2018 16:12 utc | 52 @35 russ quote “*Same goes globally. It’s good if China and Russia really are building opposition to the US empire which can help bring it down more quickly. But they offer no alternative to the same productionist economic civilization which is destroying humanity and the Earth.” Posted by: james | Aug 27 2018 16:13 utc | 53 Karlofi @ 51 Posted by: Mark2 | Aug 27 2018 16:34 utc | 54 Barflies may recall that a dynamic conference including the main political entities within Afghanistan had been announced to convene in Moscow beginning 4 September. Unfortunately, the Afghan government after committing to attending wilted under Outlaw US Empire pressure to decline to attend, thus placing a major spanner in the works. Today at EurasiaFurture, Garrie and Korybko provide 3 separate articles about that and other related developments. I began with Garrie’s item asking “Why is Kabul Trying to Sabotage Russia’s Afghan Peace Conference?” Korybko then observes: “While Everyone Was Watching Syria, The US Tried To Stage A False Flag In Afghanistan” and provides the reasons why. Koybko then informs us the conference was “abruptly postponed,” spinning it as a “strategic delay.” Posted by: karlof1 | Aug 27 2018 16:45 utc | 56 Gee, I’ve been imitated @51. Fortunately, it knows little of Roman or Greek history as its posting is nonsense. Posted by: karlof1 | Aug 27 2018 16:50 utc | 57 Stupid me. That was me at 51, and I guess I messed up the tab key when wanting to reply to karlof1 because my personal info has been wiped out. So I entered his name and post number too early, ending up writing it under Name when I thought I was already at “message”. Sorry about that, I wasn’t trying to want to impersonate people… Posted by: Clueless Joe | Aug 27 2018 17:18 utc | 58 Karlofi @ 57 Posted by: Mark2 | Aug 27 2018 17:18 utc | 59 7 Posted by: Chipnik | Aug 27 2018 17:20 utc | 60 India & Pakistani military cooperating for first time! I pinned high hopes on their becoming SCO members; this is the first tangible result. Now if only a reasonable politico like Khan can rise to become India’s PM. Posted by: karlof1 | Aug 27 2018 17:21 utc | 61 49 Posted by: Chipnik | Aug 27 2018 17:59 utc | 62 Regime Change in Myanmar? Given the existence of the supposedly non-existent UN order to provide no reconstruction help to Syria until Assad’s eliminated, this newly minted UN report charging Myanmar’s military with genocide is very suspect and begs the question: Where’re the UN reports on genocide being waged upon Palestinians and Iraqis, as well as other peoples via illegal sanctions and the economic warfare they represent? Posted by: karlof1 | Aug 27 2018 18:38 utc | 63 Sorry, but the “overworked” and “lack of time” canards given for lack of the public’s political participation is proven false by the 19th Century’s Populists. Plus, there’s the many documented experiences of the early 20th Century’s labor organizers who worked 6-day weeks and were very deeply involved in politics, which is what organizing labor entails as it’s fundamentally political work. There’s a little-known writing genre generated by writers who were also labor organizers whose works were published primarily between the world wars documenting that work which will never be included in any literary canon and have effectively been flushed down the memory hole. Posted by: fastfreddy | Aug 27 2018 19:46 utc | 67 @66 There is also the question of a large new port that China will be financing. Posted by: dh | Aug 27 2018 19:51 utc | 68 Myanmar army were being trained up by British solders before the genacide that’s no coincidence ! Posted by: Mark2 | Aug 27 2018 20:08 utc | 69 Looks like another missile strike is coming from FUKUS on Syria, and soon. Watch for that chemical attack: Posted by: m | Aug 27 2018 20:09 utc | 70 @65 russ… thanks for sharing your take on where we are and where we are headed.. people can’t seem to figure it out on their own or perhaps the predators among us haven’t evolved enough to see how they are messing up the planet chasing after money.. Posted by: james | Aug 27 2018 21:03 utc | 71 Posted by: Zanon | Aug 27, 2018 9:11:27 AM | 43 Posted by: uncle tungsten | Aug 27 2018 21:10 utc | 72 In the most recent Hudson Report, Michael explains the current state of the economy and the basic differences between how a public bank would operate versus a big private bank, which ought to interest the many barflies advocating public banking. Hudson references a report written by The Democracy Collaborative, The Crisis Next Time: Planning for Public ownership as Alternative to Corporate Bailouts, which can be found and downloaded here. At 74 pages, I’ve yet to digest it having just discovered it, but an Executive Summary’s provided. The US Americans whom are sleeping. So called liberals saluting the blood-soaked McCain, they’ve no idea that the US government uses Muslims, funds, trains and equips as proxies and agents provocateurs to bust up countries regularly, habitually. Humanitarian Interventions. They want so much to believe in the goodness of the USA. Posted by: fast freddy | Aug 27 2018 21:41 utc | 78 @77 ff… believing in the goodness of the usa, is like believing in the tooth fairy.. unfortunately a good number of americans continue like this and are completely in the dark on the horrors being committed by their good ol usa… selling patriotism, flag waving, honouring the troops and all the rest of it is meant to keep the herd believing in the goodness of the usa.. it is complete bs, but hey – bs is good for the garden, which happens to be the military/financial complex at this point.. Posted by: james | Aug 27 2018 22:00 utc | 79 @76 A key figure in Myanmar is Sean Turnell, an Australian economic advisor to Aung San Suu Kyi. He seems to be strongly opposed to China’s plans to build a port. Posted by: dh | Aug 27 2018 23:08 utc | 80 Kudos to the President for resisting the cowtowing to McStain’s bs eugoogolies. In instances where the test compilers and those tested share the same or similar culture it may have some limited relevance, but only if it is recognised that subjects or ‘marks’ from other cultures will always score lower than they would if they were being tested using terms from their own heritage.
