Excellent summary of the issue, congrats! This refugee topic is really a classical scapegoat event. Unbelievable that such a transparent cheat works.

Geoff, 82 - slothrop (name chosen i guess from the T. Pynchon character) was a contrarian poster on MoA back in the day who often, but not always, spouted and upheld a USA-MSM pov. made fair points on occasion was amusing forced ppl to consider the standard narrative. today’s ‘trolls’ or whatever are different.

somebody, i was just now in N. Italy in a village of 850 - 950 ppl. They integrated ten Afghan families who are now spooning gelato in the piazza, some work has been found, and ‘abandoned housing’ has been made viable. (No problems, zero.) Why Afg. nobody explained, it was just a connection, or one thing lead to another. This little commune’s acceptance is perhaps exceptional as it is way above..:

In 2015, the number of people applying for asylum in the EU peaked at 1.26 million to trigger the current migration crisis..

In 2015, 2.2 million people were found to be illegally present in the EU. In 2016, the number had dropped to 984,000.

http://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/en/headlines/society/20170629STO78630/eu-migrant-crisis-facts-and-figures

The EU has about 510 million inhabitants, so 1 - 2 million is negligible.

@101 The migrant crisis may well be exagerated but Trump's tough response will play well with his base.
He probably realizes that the migrant flow can never be stopped completely...nor should it be, but he is trying to keep it legal.
Similar situation in Italy where attempts are being made to control the situation.

@93 v - probably you are right, but i keep on holding out hope, lol..

@100 zanon. talk is cheap... it isn't where things are decided...

karlof1 et al:

Chris Hedges had Ralph Nader as his guest for On Contact. As always, Ralph is brilliant, direct and very human in performing an autopsy on the US political system…. what he has long called “the corporate coup.”

He knows better than to think of John Bolton as just a joke. Ralph notes that Bolton intervened on Israel’s behalf to prevent the GW Bush Administration from stopping or even denouncing Israel’s invasion of Lebanon, and then when Condi Rice presented a ceasefire, Bolton blocked it, leading to the bloodiest slaughter of civilians since 1973.

So you mean nothing came out of the recent talks between Israel and Russia? Really?

Posted by: Zanon | Jun 25 2018 8:09 utc | 106

@zanon - trash talking what russia did or didn't do with other countries, here on moa is not going to get you very far..

Posted by: james | Jun 25 2018 15:37 utc | 107

james

There are clear evidence what came out of these talks, are you really denying this?

Posted by: Zanon | Jun 25 2018 17:50 utc | 108

@zanon - i am curious - what is your first language?

You know, another meeting between Russia and Israel occured some days ago,

National security adviser in Russia for talks on Iran troops in Syria — report
https://www.timesofisrael.com/national-security-adviser-in-russia-for-talks-on-iran-troops-in-syria-report/

You just said that "talk is cheap" (#104) and here, again, Russia work with Israel - meaning you are wrong - again, why do you defend that? Why cant you say, 'this time Russia is wrong'?

Why do you prefer Israel and Russia's view on Syrian southern border vs Syria, Iran, Hezbollah?

Posted by: Zanon | Jun 25 2018 18:40 utc | 110

@zanon - making links to the times of israel, it appears you are the one who prefers to read ''israels'' propaganda view..

james

So not only are the facts wrong, the repeated israeli/russian meeting have not even occured?

Posted by: Zanon | Jun 25 2018 20:33 utc | 112

James, as you may know, I am ambivalent (but hopeful) regarding Russia's/Putin's position on Syria, Iran and the world in general.

But I encourage you to read Israeli news sources. The Zionists are often quite open and honest about their plans and actions when speaking to their own. This is even more true when the write or speak in Hebrew, though I have to rely on translations.

They seem to believe that we goyim/non-Zionists won't pay attention to what they say amongst themselves. And as your post suggests, their confidence is not without cause.

BTW: the same is true of the "thinkers" behind what's being called the "Deep State." In their (likely deliberately) boring, tomes such as 'The Grand Chessboard," Brzezenski, Kissinger, Sustain, etc. are quite up front about their terrible plans.

But they know the MSM will dissuade the commoner from reading those books, and so they can plan our destruction "in plain sight."

zanon - not sure what you are ascribing to me, but it sounds wrong..

daniel,

thanks...i hear what you are saying... i am like you, as described in the first sentence... any kind of special consideration for israel is going to be balanced with an end to their bullshit as i see it... at some point israel is going to realize they are in a weak position and stop fucking with everyone around them.. it looks like they haven't quite figured it out yet, with the fanatics running the house of isreal at present.. what happens when the usa is taken down a few pegs? that is what is kind of happening here as i see it..

i have read israel papers - haaretz with gideon levy in particular.. israel takes up too much bandwidth and attention... i think it is unwarranted although nikki haley probably has a different view... what israel is doing at present to the palestine people is a slow type of genocide, although they have taken out quite a number of innocent people the past month protesting on their border... at this point israel is in trouble, as they are incapable of seeing just how ugly their actions are.. that is a bad sign as i see it..
