So Eric Prince is going to provide an Arab force for Syria. China has hired his firm in Hong Kong to provide security for BRICs. Trump has hired his sister to gut the US Education system . Putin is preparing to make concessions to Trump and is toning down anti US rhetoric. Posted by: Pft | Apr 18 2018 22:34 utc | 201 Worth watching. Times have changed since 2013 when many on the right, and the still existent (though small) anti-war left opposed Obama’s attempts to bomb Syria. Even my rep (R.) here in Georgia was wary of it due to constituents concerns about another costly war. Posted by: Jesrad | Apr 19 2018 0:45 utc | 216 @212 Excellent news clip. Ekaterina had some pretty interesting statistics too. I bet Donald would like to meet her on neutral ground. Posted by: dh | Apr 19 2018 1:02 utc | 217 Someone earlier mentioned the carrier group entering the Med. That group is led by the USS Harry S. Truman and it was scheduled to depart the week before whatever happened. BUT it was scheduled and announced to the crews a year ago and departed on time. Posted by: Foggy World | Apr 19 2018 2:12 utc | 218 Interesting historical reading. I doubt -US retiring hegemony- will happen though. Posted by: Noirette | Apr 19 2018 14:51 utc | 224 For fun I was reading the Mehdi Asan article on the Intercept. It’s a slow night. What made it fun was the comments. Pretty much unanimously calling the guy out. Don’t bother reading it bcs it’s trash, but just making a note of the strong showing of anti-BS (430 as of now) advocates. A thing of beauty. Posted by: Timothy Hagios | Apr 20 2018 16:24 utc | 226 For non-US readers, the DNC is the Democratic National Committee, i.e. the organization that runs the Democratic Party.
