James Comey Is Losing His Game With Another Non-News Leak
This is a short follow up on yesterday's false news stories topped with a Comey leak.
1. The New York Times tries to add to the story of the WannaCry ransom virus (which is based on NSA exploits), hyping the unfounded claim that North Korea is behind it: Focus Turns to North Korea Sleeper Cells as Possible Culprits in Cyberattack. The story curiously does not even mention the nonsensical claim of a Google staffer that points to common code snippets in reused software stacks. Instead we get a long elaboration on how North Korea sends students abroad to be trained in IT and programming. In paragraph 4 the story asserts:
As evidence mounts that North Korean hackers may have links to the ransom assaults ...
But no evidence, none at all, is cited in the piece. The "mounting evidence" is a molehill without the hill. Eleven paragraphs later we learn that:
It also is possible that North Korea had no role in the attacks,
Duh. Six NYT reporters collaborated in writing that twenty paragraph story which contains no reasonable news or information. What a waste.
2. The State Department claim that Syria built a crematorium inside a prison to burn executed prisoners saw no follow up. But it had consequences. The presented "evidence" was too thin to make it believable. Even the staunchly anti-Syrian SPIEGEL doubted it: USA bleiben Beweise für Assads Leichenöfen schuldig. Translated: "U.S. fails to give evidence for Assad crematorium claims."
The State Department claim was presented in a special news conference by Stuart Jones, the acting assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs. A day later Jones announced that he would retire:
Jones, 57, told colleagues the decision was his own and that he had not been pushed out or asked to leave the department.
Ahem. Sure. Maybe. Or Secretary of State Rex Tillerson disliked the lame propaganda shows Jones presented under the official State Department seal.
3. Yesterday's "Trump revealed critical intelligence to Russia" nonsense is already dying down. Even regular NYT readers criticize their paper's reporting of it:
It’s quite strange that the media is giving such prominence to and broadcasting so much detail about supposedly highly secret information and its source in order to show how irresponsible President Trump is.
...
It seem that of the two, the media and the President, the media is by far the most at fault for leaking state secrets. Strange indeed: it seems the goal of bringing down Trump overrides all other considerations.”
To recap - in March the U.S. and the UK had issued a ban on laptops for fights from certain Middle Eastern airports:
The U.S. officials said intelligence "indicates terrorist groups continue to target commercial aviation" by "smuggling explosive devices in various consumer items."
It was known from other reports that the threat was from ISIS. Trump repeated this to the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and added that the origin of the treat is the ISIS capital Raqqa. Anyone would have guessed that. It was no secret. But "current and former officials" phoned up reporter after reporter to claim that Trump revealed critical intelligence because the Russians might now guess which country the information was coming from. A few hours later the Washington Post and the New York Times, not Trump, revealed that the original information came from Israel. It will be difficult to blame Trump for "leaking to the Russians" less information than "current and a former American official" leak to mainstream paper.
But as that smear against Trump and Russia has failed a new one is needed.
A week ago Trump unceremoniously fired FBI boss James Comey:
After six months of investigation the FBI had no evidence for any of the rumors about Russian interference [in the U.S.] that were thrown around. It should have closed the case with a clear recommendation not to prosecute the issue. That Comey kept the case open was political interference from his side. Hearings and public rumors about the case blocked the political calendar. Instead of following the facts, and deciding based upon them, he was himself running a political campaign.
Comey had hoped that he would not be fired as long as the investigation was running. Since Trump kicked him out Comey tried to get a public hearing in Congress to spill the beans and get some revenge. The Republican majority leaders smelled the trap and did not invite him. Today he upped his game: Comey Memo Says Trump Asked Him to End Flynn Investigation
President Trump asked the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, to shut down the federal investigation into Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, in an Oval Office meeting in February, according to a memo Mr. Comey wrote shortly after the meeting.“I hope you can let this go,” the president told Mr. Comey, according to the memo.
Comey leaked the memo to raise new allegations against Trump and to finally get his day in Congress. But Trump's “I hope you can let this go” is not a clear interference in a judicial investigation. Trump just wished that the FBI would use its resources to look into other issues, like the extensive leaking of secret intelligence that occurred during recent months. Nothing nefarious can be constructed from that reasonable explanation. The investigation into Flynn, for violating the Foreign Agent Registration Act with relation to Turkey(!), continues. Trump has had no influence on it. If this talk has been so important as to possibly constitute a breach of law why did Comey wait months, until after he was fired, to leak it?
The Comey claim is another non-issue and non-story. The Republican congress leaders will not jump on Comey's bandwagon (- or will they?) If this was the worst Comey can present he has lost the fight.
The deep-state, which opposes any collaboration with Russia and wants Trump impeached (RealNews vid), will now have to find a new angle for its attack.

On the question of moles in the White House - for what it's worth - one might wish to consult "FBIanon" of pedogate fame. Here are the latest talking points attributed to him.

The whole story is for the stupid people as it dates from March including naming Raqqa.

It seems the deep-crime-state is afraid of Trump. Too many skeletons in their closets. Too many dirty plans regarding future events. A soft coup against Trump is going on. The cabal is determined to regain the White House and no matter what Trump does or not, they won't accept him.

It comes down to whether Republicans consider Trump a burden for electoral purpose or not. They are the only ones who can impeach.
Trump's approval rating is quite low. But impeaching him will come at a high price.
Democrats will continue to chase Mike Pence on Russia, too.

The trouble is that they still can do it, Brazil-style. If I remember correctly, the case for the impeachment of president Rousseff was as flimsy as they get in these days of swamp creatures international rule, plus the critters prosecuting Rousseff were themselves under various investigations for corruption. Yet they achieved toppling her. That was done because Rousseff, pretty much like Trump, had tried to please her neoliberal opposition instead of launching investigations were they were needed and carting off all the crooks to the jails where they belonged, if just for the sake of showing them who's boss.
Some years ago, Putin showed the way by prosecuting some high-ranking wrongdoers to make examples, sending them off to jail and telling the others to stay away from politics and high-level decision-making if they wanted to remain free. Which is apparently the only solution if one wants to get them off one's back. These dudes make their money out of waging wars on defenseless countries abroad and fleecing people at home, for God's sake. What ethics/reason/sense/humaneness can one expect from them?

With the help of perhaps an Israeli agent, ISIS now have a method of evading explosives detectors in airports? And the Deep state are now pissed that Trump has alerted Russia? Letting them know what to look for?

“I hope you can let this go,” the president told Mr. Comey, according to the memo. The Clintonists continue to claim that Trump knows nothing of history but they will now claim that he's a monarchist who's heard of Henry II and Thomas "Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?" à Becket.

if they take it as far as impeachment they might get the house to go along, but the senate will be the electoral college redux. it'll be like that other clinton's impeachment ... a few years' endless chatter and distraction.

Although the thing about Trump giving away classified secrets to Russia is propaganda aimed at Trump, the bombs in laptops and agent in ISIS seem real. An agent would have to make himself useful to ISIS so I guess expert bomb maker would be a good cover.

Where was all this "deep state" talk when Comey etal were going after Clinton? It's easy to find fault with all these investigations but come on. Y'all know this is payback for Benghazi and the emailgate. Trump deserves every thing he is getting because he piled on. Lock him up!
You see, the Dems can burn down the house. They founded in a clown and jeopardized our country knowing he was incompetent. The GOP has been practicing governance by obstruction for years now. They burned it down and now cry because their boss is an incompetent buffoon. Or is Moon going to say that was all a mirage orchestrated by the "deep state"?

WHO IS ISRAEL'S MOLE IN RAQQA?
The obvious conclusion to make from the Washington Post article and the feign hysteria surrounding it is that Israel has a mole embedded high up in ISIS leadership in Raqqa. If I can draw such a conclusion, so can everyone else.
When I first read about the story, I thought the "city" where the plan was discovered was in Turkey or Saudi Arabia, both U.S. allies. But when I read the exact quotes, I realized the source of the information must be Israel.
Most alarmingly, officials said, Trump revealed the city in the Islamic State’s territory where the U.S. intelligence partner detected the threat.WaPo also makes it clear this ISIS city is in Syria, not Iraq. What other US ally would have agents secretly working in Syria? Saudi Arabia and Turkey do, but their presence in Syria is no secret. The New York Times now confirms that the source is Israel.
***
But is the Israeli agent actually a mole? A mole would by definition be someone trying to undermine ISIS. Israeli policy seems to be the opposite, using ISIS in its war against the Syrian state. There has been much speculation about Israeli-ISIS cooperation, but little concrete facts.
WaPo suggests that the source embedded in ISIS is actually working against Russia and its ally Syria. Why else would Russia want to identify or disrupt it?
Officials said the capability could be useful for other purposes, possibly providing intelligence on Russia’s presence in Syria. Moscow would be keenly interested in identifying that source and perhaps disrupting it.
If I may speculate about the true secret behind the WaPo story, it is this: ISIS military activity is lead by Israeli military advisors. It would be natural for them to report on real threats to Israeli and US security. Leaking such information will not expose them as Israeli agents, but will put a strain on ISIS-Israel relations.

Sorry, in the context, "let it go" (assuming it happened as Comey claims) can only be read one way.
Trump likely fears that through any extensive investigation of the Russia ties of Trump associaties, his ties to mafia types from the former Soviet Union will come out. Nothing really do with these laughable claims about Russia collusion or hacking.
Trump is protecting his wealth and the sources for more monies for Trump and Kushner.
Right, clearly the likes of McMaster have delusions about fighting a war with Russia or Iran, but so does Trump's current Sec. of Defense.

The happenings in the USSA. Do they know?
Comey is a cheat. He covered up.
On my street with my voisins looking in on the USSA we are dismayed over the divide. Clearly the election of Trump needs to be accepted. Reuters reports on Putin's Offer of transcript to prove Trump gave no secrets. And with a good troll:
the political schizophrenia in D.C.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump had not passed on any secrets to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a meeting in Washington last week and that he could prove it.Speaking at a news conference alongside Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, Putin quipped that Lavrov was remiss for not passing on what he made clear he believed were non-existent secrets.
"I spoke to him (Lavrov) today," said Putin with a smile. "I'll be forced to issue him with a reprimand because he did not share these secrets with us. Not with me, nor with representatives of Russia's intelligence services. It was very bad of him."
Putin, who said Moscow rated Lavrov's meeting with Trump "highly," said Russia was ready to hand a transcript of Trump's meeting with Lavrov over to U.S. lawmakers if that would help reassure them.
A Kremlin aide, Yuri Ushakov, later told reporters that Moscow had in its possession a written record of the conversation, not an audio recording.
[my edit - On The money]
Complaining about what he said were signs of "political schizophrenia" in the United States, Putin said Trump was not being allowed to do his job properly.
"It's hard to imagine what else can these people who generate such nonsense and rubbish can dream up next," said Putin.
"What surprises me is that they are shaking up the domestic political situation using anti-Russian slogans. Either they don't understand the damage they're doing to their own country, in which case they are simply stupid, or they understand everything, in which case they are dangerous and corrupt."~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
We can hope good sense prevails. Surely this is a distraction pointing to the impending implosion of the U.S. It's the derivatives; more than $230 trillion exposure for U.S. banks - not sustainable.

"The Comey claim is another non-issue and non-story. The Republican congress leaders will not jump on Comey's bandwagon (- or will they?) If this was the worst Comey can present he has lost the fight."
You're right that the pretexts being used to get rid of Trump are pretty flimsy, but there is a formidable axis arrayed against him. Democrats obviously, most of elite media (who have long since dropped their "view from nowhere" pretense), factions of the so-called "deep state." Most Republicans have no deep ties to Trump (and many in fact despise him) so therefore won't have the stomach for a prolonged fight to preserve him. I don't see any faction that has an incentive to save him. I've read some grumblings that the military like him but I seriously doubt anybody from there would want to get involved in all of this silly palace intrigue.
All Trump has, really, is a fan base in the general public who are insufficiently organized to help him out, Some of those people might be willing to take isolated drastic actions, unfortunately.

'If' this Fox news investigation is true, the whole 'Russia hacked the DNC' could be blown apart.
Also Comey must have known this and hoped Trump would be irraparably damaged.
"New evidence surfacing in the Seth Rich murder investigation may just quash the "Russian hacking" conspiracy theory. According to a new report from Fox News, it was former DNC staffer Seth Rich who supplied 44,000 DNC emails to WikiLeaks and not some random Russian cyber terrorist, as we've all been led to believe.
According to Fox News, though admittedly via yet another anonymous FBI source, Rich made contact with WikiLeaks through Gavin MacFadyen, an American investigative reporter and director of WikiLeaks who was living in London at the time. According to Fox News sources, federal law enforcement investigators found 44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments sent between DNC leaders from January 2015 to May 2016 that Rich shared with WikiLeaks before he was gunned down on July 10, 2016.
The Democratic National Committee staffer who was gunned down on July 10 on a Washington, D.C., street just steps from his home had leaked thousands of internal emails to WikiLeaks, law enforcement sources told Fox News.
A federal investigator who reviewed an FBI forensic report detailing the contents of DNC staffer Seth Rich’s computer generated within 96 hours after his murder, said Rich made contact with WikiLeaks through Gavin MacFadyen, a now-deceased American investigative reporter, documentary filmmaker, and director of WikiLeaks who was living in London at the time.
“I have seen and read the emails between Seth Rich and Wikileaks,” the federal investigator told Fox News, confirming the MacFadyen connection. He said the emails are in possession of the FBI, while the stalled case is in the hands of the Washington Police Department.http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-05-16/murdered-dnc-staffer-seth-rich-shared-44000-emails-wikileaks

Well of course you've got to fight back. That's bloody obvious to anyone with half a brain.
A property investigation of the murder of Seth Rich is needed and it will never happen while Corrupt Andy McCabe is the FBI Interim Director.
Why wasn't McCabe fired as well and replaced by an interim director who will properly investigate the leaks and Seth Rich for a start?
It really baffles me why this wasn't done.
And how has Dina Powell not been fired?
Whatever or whoever, Clinton and Trump are, the American public deserves ANYTHING these two clowns manifest. The U$A, and the corporate overlords that run it, are a pox on the world.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/world/middleeast/israel-trump-classified-intelligence-russia.html?Israel Said to Be Source of Secret Intelligence Trump Gave to Russians
WASHINGTON — The classified intelligence that President Trump disclosed in a meeting last week with Russian officials at the White House was provided by Israel, according to a current and a former American official familiar with how the United States obtained the information. The revelation adds a potential diplomatic complication to an episode that has renewed questions about how the White House handles sensitive intelligence.
Israel is one of the United States’ most important allies and runs one of the most active espionage networks in the Middle East. Mr. Trump’s boasting about some of Israel’s most sensitive information to the Russians could damage the relationship between the two countries and raises the possibility that the information could be passed to Iran, Russia’s close ally and Israel’s main threat in the region.

I strongly suspect Comey has been abusing his position for a very long time AFAIK J. Edgar Hoover who trousered fat wedges from crims drew the line at blackmailing pols for money but it seems likely that Comey whose $3.5 million home is well outside the price range of even senior public saervants has demonstrated the behaviors of a man auctioning off the FBI stamp of approval to whichever pol is prepared to pay the most.
Hence the free pass followed by attacks on ClintonInc prior to the election.
Comey prolly figured he was history no matter what after the prez inauguration, like all the rest of the blinded by greed neoliberals he was sure Clinton would win, so he hit her hard with demands for continued silence once the election got underway.
Clinton who also thought she was a walk up start also rebuffed Comey's clumsy attempt to double the payoff, so Comey hit her with the Weiner emails tosh.
It didn't work or if it did all the shill bought was silence - no more million dollar 'free' passes.
We can be sure that Comey's letter of dismissal by the shill had already been written come election day, but Hillary lost and when she did Comey musta felt like all his Xmases had come at once.
Once the dems kicked the russia can down the road Comey tried to extort the trumpet initially by stiching senior aides such as Flynn.
By this time Comey felt so megalomaniacal he didn't pause to consider the trump was taping Comey's extortion calls heh hoist by an fbi petard - beautiful.

Funny that ISIS is the acronym of Mossads English name. Israel through its lobbyists and dual nationality has so penetrated government via the Deep State and Congress and influences opinion through MSM to such an extent that they might as well be our 51st state, or maybe the Tel Aviv branch of DC . In fact our aid to Israel is much higher than the net aid to over half of the real 50 states ( after taxes collected from entities in those states) . This is what makes all the fuss about Russias influence so laughable. Of course the influence of political Zionism is not new seeing we are celebrating the 100th year of the Balfour Declaration. That got us into WWI on the wrong side and began a century of war serving Britains and then Israels interests. With our Presidents, Generals and Fed Reserve Chairmen being knighted I suspect we may be just a crypto comonwealth nation serving the crown and others. We are the financial and military arm of the British Commonwealth Israeli American (B-CIA) Empire just following their orders.
Trumps just a stooge to discredit us on the world stage so when we are no longer needed the world will support breaking us up into small pieces with the new global order taking the valuable bits while we pay off our debts like Greece. Get ready for your savings to be deducted from your accounts. This wont happen till they eliminate cash and knock down Russia and China, but the clock is ticking.

Like any falling empire we will shriek inthe streets and rip our hair out for like 10 years as the shit's going down. (This is the only reason historians take notice)
Personally I can't take much more. Oh look, the next pendulum swing. Fuck these interesting times.

Could you please explain the blowing of Killary's North Korea lies?

Killary led the "Blame NK" crapola for the grounding and subsequent sinking of the Cheonan. The fake news about it included tall tales about an NK torpedo. Speigel's pics showed that the damage to the props...
1. Could NOT have been caused by a torpedo or mine explosion.
2. Was consistent with running aground under power.
The story faded soon after attention was drawn to Killary's lies by the appearance of Spiegel's ultra clear pics on the www.

Justice Department appoints special counsel to investigate Trump-Russia claims
On Wednesday morning, the Wall Street Journal ran a front-page article headlined “White House Turmoil Puts the GOP Agenda at Risk.” The article warned, “The series of controversies involving the president has threatened to swamp his legislative agenda on Capitol Hill, with potential hearings and widening investigations siphoning time and energy from plans to overhaul the health care system and tax code.”After the market sell-off, one trader told the Journal “That’s people just throwing in the towel on tax reform,” while another said the infighting in Washington “puts another dent in the likelihood of getting a congressional majority to pass Trump’s agenda.”
that's the 'bright side' of the dnc's full court press. 'tax reform' a la rump is not. anything he plans to do domestically will be bad for ordinary americans, so if he's been flummuxed, we're better off in that respect, at least.
the (quasi-)impeachment is bad, otherwise, in my view. it can only strengthen what steve cohen called the '4th branch of us government', alphabet inc : nsa, cia, fbi, and now the googleplex as well.

Actually, my guess is that attributing the source to Israel is a clumsy attempt at covering up the real revelation of "sources and methods" which the media did months ago. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the chief funder of both Al Qaeda and IS. They certainly receive periodic reports on what their clients are up to and what their plans are. Surely we have assets inside their intelligence services. No need for Israel at all, although I understand Mossad is very good indeed.

Israel is the one bitching about the so-called security leak to the Russians, so Israel either has a mole--Kushner--in the WH or a listening device in the Oval Office. It wouldn't be the first time they've neutralized an American president, from JFK to Slick Willy.
Besides, how does Israel know so much about ISIS laptop bombs unless they are helping their ISIS buds make the devices?
