I see everywhere the opinion that TPTB are in trouble cuz of US debt. Don't think so. The plan has always been to take down US & EU economies. Just a step towards their global currency & digital money for the masses. Some chaos? Sure. That's what the San Bernardino & the Orlando hoaxes were for: Pretexts to rehearse lockdowns where assets important to the "elites" are located. Massive, massive warehouses-- a single building is 17 acres! And associated port.

http://lifttheveil411.com/san-bernardino-hoax-location-motive-episode-2/ Perot companies, managed by Ross Perot, Jr, own a LOT of San Bernardino. The "chase" was right around them. A security rehearsal. Infragard involved. Major transportation hub of port and rail; also important water . Infragard public/private partnership to practice protecting infrastructure, assets, goods. (This part not shown on TV)
http://lifttheveil411.com/san-bernardino-hoax-location-motive-episode-3-water-wars-youtube/ Water Wars . Cutouts w/in Sbdino that don't belong to the City.

Most of his vids only about 10 min long.

Incidentally, we KNOW S'Bernardino was preplanned because https://memoryholeblog.com/2016/06/20/san-bernardino-terror-attack-did-a-major-news-outlet-accidentally-jump-the-gun/ Canada's Postmedia published APs detailed story on San Bernardino "shooting" a day before it happened! across all its online news platforms, since erased (Sceenshots included). [Actually it was theatre, a hoax.]

The Orlando hoax was pretext to rehearse shutting down an impressive stretch of freeway, both directions. More importantly, the shutdown of neighborhoods of "two homes associated w the shooter" were rehearsals for maintaining control of a waterway important to shipping. It bisects Florida East to West. Important port there too.

I guess MSM has done a good job convincing you that they are TRYING to solve the monetary & economic problems. Yeah, sure.

Re the hoaxes, Jim Fetzer says: "Hillary Clinton uses Sandy Hook false flag to push for gun control"

There are some shadowy forces pushing this, to quote the classic:

"Do not pay attention to the man behind the curtain..." [Wizard of Oz]

But maybe there are some positive forces working secretly...?

In the fun movie "Now you see mee: part 2" that has many important references and hints a bad character residing in London and Macau says:

"I just want to be, and I am 100% off the grid. You know why? ... because in a world of total surveillance, the only true freedom lies in not being seen. You can't control the grid from within the grid... I'm able to control quite a few companies, as a consortium of so-called anonymous shareholders. And that violates how many SEC laws? I believe it breaks all of them..."

We should have a thread about Blackrock, Vanguard, PIMCO, StateStreet, Fidelity ...

MoA readers may enjoy the "progressive" kerfuffle at nakedcapitalism.com.

Yves put up another pro-Hillary guest post (see note below). This time arguing that "progressives" should essentially vote for Hillary but work to hold her feet to the fire.

Yves and Lambert then argue against a barrage of anti-Hillary, pro-Green commenters. In particular, Yves blatent bashing of Jill Stein is memorable(emphasis is mine):

She is not even remotely qualified to run for President. The fact that she has put herself forward as a candidate means I can’t take her or the Greens seriously. Fetishizing the Presidency and failing to do the hard work of developing your own bench via running for local and state offices is ass-backwards and shows a dilettantish attitude towards governing.

Anyway, don't miss the many many excellent comments from real progressives that are anti-Hillary, anti-DNC, and sick of the way that they have been played.

Note: In the previous Open Thread, I discussed Yves support for the notion that Elisabeth Warren would be a check on Hillary's pro-Wall Street agenda.

I just took the time to watch CNN Town Hall Green Party Jill Stein & Ajamu Baraka, and I can recommend it ... I'd say as an antidote to Clinton/Trump appearances, but I haven't watched any. I can imagine them only too well. Surely Jill Stein and Ajamu Baracka are head and shoulders above the animals in the menagerie. I would have no trouble making Jill Stein and Ajamu Baracka my choice in November. Certainly my choice will be an 'other' ... no to Clinton, no to Trump.

Syrian pound drops sharply against US dollar: central bank

The value of the Syrian pound fell sharply by six percent over the weekend, losing ground to the dollar, the central bank in Damascus said Sunday.

Economist Chadi Ahmad told AFP said the sharp drop in the exchange rate was due to growing demand by the government to use dollars to buy petroleum products overseas ahead of winter.

“The government is trying to acquire petrol because of the shortage in the markets, as well as diesel before the winter season,” he said.

The value of the Syrian pound has depreciated by more than 110% to the dollar since Syria’s conflict erupted in March 2011.

Oil production in Syria has dropped to 8,120 barrels per day compared to the 380,000 barrels produced daily before war broke out in 2011.

As well as devastating the economy, the conflict has killed more than 290,000 people and displaced millions.

Saudi Arabia hits another school in Yemen

Saudi pilots have launched yet another airstrike on a school in the Yemeni province of Ta’izz, with no information immediately available on possible casualties.

Back in June, the United Nations (UN) put Saudi Arabia on a blacklist of countries that kill and maim children. It concluded in a report that Riyadh had been responsible for 60 percent of the 785 deaths of children in the Saudi war on Yemen in 2015. A few days later, however, the world body announced that Saudi Arabia would be taken off the list pending a joint review with Saudi Arabia.

Reports by media outlets in the United States — which has offered intelligence support for the Saudi war by helping Saudi forces acquire “targets” — have pointed to the incompetence as well as cowardice on the part of the Saudi pilots conducting airstrikes as some of the reasons why indiscriminate bombing occurs in Yemen.

The US blames it on their own clients' "cowardice". Not like the real men of the USAF ... 'If the pilot's good, see, I mean if he's reeeally sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low... oh you oughta see it sometime. It's a sight. A plane like an F-16 ... varrrooom! Its jet exhaust... frying chickens in the barnyard!'

The USA is demented, fried, married to death, devastation, destruction, and deceit. Everything is focused on DDD&D.

Twenty years since Clinton’s welfare “reform”

In destroying welfare, President Clinton had the enthusiastic backing of his wife, Hillary Clinton, who is now the Democratic candidate for US president. The ex-president emphasized her role in a 2006 op-ed piece in the New York Times titled “How We Ended Welfare, Together.” In the article, Clinton boasted that welfare rolls had been reduced from 12.2 million to 4.5 million in the first decade of his “reform.”

The destruction of the federal welfare system was part of a social counterrevolution by the American ruling class initiated in the last years of the Democratic administration of Jimmy Carter in the late 1970s and escalated during the Reagan years of the 1980s. It marked the complete abandonment of the policy of liberal reform associated with Roosevelt’s New Deal in the 1930s and Johnson’s War on Poverty in the mid-1960s.

The Clintons were leading figures in the Democratic Leadership Council, which renounced such reforms and helped transform the Democratic Party into the leading party of Wall Street.

The war on the poor, with its denunciations of “generations of dependency” and demands for “personal responsibility,” coincided with a bipartisan program of unlimited government welfare for corporate America and the super-rich. These were the days of “irrational exuberance” on Wall Street, the Clinton administration’s repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act and other Depression-era banking regulations, the destruction of millions of better-paying manufacturing jobs, the growth of financialization, and the rise of a new financial aristocracy to the pinnacle of the American economy.

Over the last seven-and-a-half years, the Obama administration has intensified this social counterrevolution, slashing the wages of autoworkers, shifting the burden of health care and pensions onto the backs of workers, and funneling trillions to Wall Street and trillions more to the Pentagon to wage nonstop war.

Anyone telling themselves that they are voting for the lessor-of-two-evils when they vote jackass is not paying attention.

When asked "Given the way our political system works, effectively you could help Donald Trump, like Ralph Nader helped George Bush in 2000. How can you sleep at night?"

Jill Stein replied "I will have trouble sleeping at night if Donald Trump is elected. I will also have trouble sleeping at night if Hillary Clinton is elected."

You don't have to be a Stein supporter to share her trouble sleeping. You don't have to vote for Jill Stein to vote for someone 'other' than the elephant or the jackass.

- Mark Perry:

There is going to be an "October surprise". The US army seems to be planning an attack on ISIS (think: Raqqa & Mosul) at the end of october 2016. It will happen in cooperation with the russian (???) & US (???) backed syrian kurds, iraqi kurds/peshmergas, iran backed shiites militias, the shiite iraqi army & syrians army.
- These forces "are ready to go".
- If this attack fails then it could backfire on Hillary Clinton. And then (bomb) attacks in Europe are going to increase.

Yes, it's curious that some very important articles are not translated into English, on the VoltaireNet either.

I admire Ms Cruz and Javier Bardem for standing up to the Hollyweirdo cabal and defending the Palestinian cause. Vast majority of the "celebrities" are sold out, and have to pay their dues for "skyrocketeeing" careers when the masters call it. See embarrassing by "MKULTRA/MONARCH weird eyed" Jared Leto stunts for EuroMaidan, George Clooney et. al. shilling for Israeli plan to partition Sudan for oil with their phony "Save Darfour" campaign, and many others, especially Beyonce, Lady Gaga,...

I also have my utmost respect for Mike Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Daniel Radcliff, Corey Feldman, James Cameron, and others for exposing the evil empire.

3 DNC employees who knew about some evil shenanigans w the voters. The process server who served the DNC. The City of London Crown Corporation in preparation to the coming war with Russia is programming through usual propaganda outlets the Polish nationals to shed blood - again, like in 1939 - for the Brutish Empire.

Te empire is forcing Poland into unprecedented debt via its puppet government, while preparing to use the Polish soil, far away from London, to be the battleground and the meat grinder for the Polish cannon fodder.

"Blood" has a very strong connotation for all human beings, so it's not surprising that the Tavistock mind control agents are using it for the programming.

US Drones Shot Down Over The Crimea. - YouTube

"The war you don’t hear about: numerous American military aircraft (albeit of the unmanned variety, though with the possibility of being armed and dangerous) have apparently been violating Russian airspace, leading to the Russians shooting - yes, shooting - them down following the refusal of the Americans to acknowledge Russian diplomatic notes of protest.

The military violation of the territory, including the airspace, of a sovereign state is ordinarily taken to be a casus belli - an act of war. But to be fair to the Americans, they may justify their belligerent behavior, flagrantly refusing to respect Russia’s sovereignty, on the basis that they do not recognize Crimea to be a part of Russia. Therefore, they do not recognize any violation of the airspace of Russia as having taken place. Rather, they would contend that the American aircraft in question were flying within the sovereign territory of Ukraine, with the permission of the government with the only legitimate authority to grant or refuse such permission, namely the government of Ukraine.

Nevertheless the Russians have made it clear that they consider Crimea to be a sovereign part of Russia. The Russians have made diplomatic protests over what they see as violation of their territory. The Americans have ignored them. The Russians have therefore shot down - and in one case commandeered and landed - these aircraft making incursions into their sovereign territory.

An act of war has been committed by America against Russia; and if you accept the American position, an act of war has been committed by Russia against both the Ukraine and the United States. Shots have been fired, and the Americans have lost materiel.

Note that these are not exchanges of fire through proxies, as happened throughout the Cold War and is happening now through Syria and in the east of Ukraine. No, these are two nuclear-armed powers already in the process of shooting at each other!

Are we already in the opening stages of World War III? How many minutes to midnight is the nuclear clock? May God help us all."

Posted by: ProPeace | Aug 24 2016 20:30 utc | 224

I would expect an allegation of an act of war to come from the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation. Not some self-styled "Doctors of Military Science" on YouTube. Aren't these usually referred to as "senior officers?" The report looks to be two years old.

On the one hand you have various Russian experts talking about Kiev's War Bluff. It seems like the correct read on the situation.

But on the other, Fort Russ posts a statement by the DPR saying that the UAF are advancing on Avdeevka, a longtime point of contact north of Donetsk, and seek to take the town.

Who knows what tomorrow may bring?

Just suggest to keep an eye on Yemen. There are beginning to be serious signs that the Saudi position in front of Najran is collapsing. I do not speak of Masdar reports, but more of their videos. The one about the tank is quite amusing, actually a French armoured car, I think.

It'll be some time yet, if Najran were to fall, but the significance of it falling into the hands of the Houthis is not to be underestimated. It is one of Saudi Arabia's most famous cities, though according to Wiki, only 18th in size. (Lots of big boring cities in most countries, I think). I've been there. The political fallout would be immense; it would shake the regime to its foundations.

Why is Nigel Farage so afraid of endorsing Trump?

Posted by: Tazer | Aug 25 2016 10:25 utc | 229

For all of you who are, like new campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, looking for the mythical invisible Trump voter, here's a helpful guide. Trump’s New Campaign Manager Is Gambling It All On The ‘Shy Trump Voter’ Theory. This theory holds that our loutish loud and aggressively "politically incorrect" Trumpeteers are somehow ashamed to tell pollsters or have their families overhear their support.

Sure, you've bought the hat, mouth the talking points, and share the hate. But let's keep it on the down low.

This is an interesting theory, if for no reason other than the only shared quality among Trump supporters seems to be a world-historical level of “not-shyness.” Pollsters have already contended with this theory, and they find it wanting....

But remember: The premise of the “shy Trump voter” theory is that Trump’s supporters are impossible to properly quantify, which means all of the countering arguments you throw at it are, by definition, improperly founded.

That’s what makes this theory so great. But great as it may be, it’s not new. Conway is just repackaging the same contention that animated Trump in the first place ― that he represents the “silent majority” ready to shake up America’s landscape....

I guess Conway’s point is that the Trump campaign knows a lot more about voters and their desires than anyone else does. And that might be true! But if her contention is just that a whole lot of people are going to suddenly emerge from the ether of the unknowable and deliver the election to Trump in an event that will leave the experts stunned and befuddled, then you have to ask: Why do they need to “go to them where they live”? Why do they need some sort of “proprietary” method of seeking these voters out? Really, why do they even need super-genius Kellyanne Conway? These aren’t even her ideas. They’re Trump’s.

I don’t mean to startle everyone with a shocking revelation, but there seems to be a remote possibility that Donald Trump prefers to surround himself with yes-(wo)men.

Yeah, I am shocked -- shocked I tell you -- to find The Donald in a bubble of his own making. Since it's huuuuuge, plenty of room for folks like Conway and clueless surrogates.
