NOAA CHEATS ON LAND TEMPERATURE
1. REFUSAL TO USE THEIR OWN NEW HI-TECH, FIRST QUALITY DATA SET.
Two studies indicate gross problems w the old network of US weather stations, including a GAO study. 64% were found to be capable of +2°C errors or more. Many of the problems were siting errors that wouldn’t have been present til at least the ’50’s: surrounded by concrete, asphalt; air conditioning exhaust too close; heat island of city growth, etc.
NOAA agreed & built a new highest quality, high tech Climate Reference Network, completed in 2008. An astonishing hi-tech marvel, its fully-automated numbers arrive at NOAA/NCDC, but NOAA prefers the biased, erroneous data set!!!
AN EXAMPLE OF THE RESULTS:
NOAA: July 2012 US hottest July ever at 77.6 beating old record 77.4 in 1936.

2. NOAA IS ELIMINATING RURAL THERMOMETERS without acknowledging it, further corrupting the old data set so that what is measured is exclusively the city heat island effect.
3. NOAA LOWERS HISTORIC TEMPERATURES to make recent temperatures comparatively higher. If one looks at sequential NOAA graphs, the cheating is apparent. 5. NOAA “HOMOGENIZES” THE DATA using a s/w program which raises 2/3 of the temperatures. 6. NOAA has ELIMINATED HIGH ALTITUDE AND NORTHERN THERMOMETERS disproportionately from its global data-set. In 1970 there were approximately 6000 weather stations included in NOAA’s data set. Today, approximately 1000. To supply the missing grid entries, interpolation/averaging of “nearby” temperatures are used. And “nearby” may be distant.
Most of the no-longer-used temperatures are cooler ones, now replaced by a warmer “approximate” number. Yet in judging whether that grid-point has warmed over the past decades the original cooler temperatures are retained and averaged. No wonder such grid-points show warming!

Eg: CANADA’s 489 data points is now 44, only one of which is in the North. Canada’s false “warming” comes from interpolating from more southerly locations to fill northerly vacant grid boxes, even tho an average of the available stations shows COOLING.
Eg: CALIFORNIA now has 4 data points– one in ‘Frisco & 3 in LA. None in the mountains as before, so that it is impossible to know by reference to this data set whether CA is warming or cooling.

8. UK & Japan also produce global temperature results– in line w US wishes, of course. Moscow’s IAE complained UK’s HadCRUT had distorted temperature records of the Russian Federation, 12.5% of global land mass. 9. Satellite temperature data has been available since 1978 yet most temperature analyses still rely on land-based weather stations.
There’s more, but I think this is enough. All of NOAA & NASA’s temperature findings rest on thoroughly discredited data. Ordinary employees are honest but they do work for the govt and their bosses answer to the Obama administration.
The big picture is the same. Our govt has been captured by the oligarchs. They control the State Dept, have no difficulty sending the military to war, changing legislation to free themselves from regulation or preventing SEC from releasing stock trades re 9-11, have suborned Justice Dept to make themselves immune, get all manner of drugs & ill-advised vaccinations approved, etc. There is nothing special about their controlling NOAA & NASA in their interests, too.
Skeptics position: Following the Little Ice Age we resumed warming .75°C – .85°C per century, longterm. In the short-term climate alternates in periods of warming and cooling in approximately 27-30 year periods. Hence the high temps of the 30s are repeated 60 years later, in the 90s. However the 90s were not as hot, and we are now in the next 30-yr cooling phase.
Approximate history was 1914-1944 Warming w peak at 1936; 1945-1975 Cooling;
1976-2005 Warming with the peak at 1998; 2006-2036 Cooling projected.
Many international scientists are predicting that this or the next 30-year cooling could become a more severe cooling event, a mini Ice Age, due to the current Solar Cycle being the weakest in 200 years.

The ukrainian pilot pilot that seemingly is responsible for killing a russian TV team has been released in exchange for two russian captives.
Now of course everyone in Ukraine is trying to be the first to have some pictures taken with their heroine.
At the very end the article states in a casual way :-)) that on arriving she refused Tymochenkos bouquet, although Tymoshenkos party made her top candidate for a seat in parliament, which she now is eager to take. This was obviously a symbolic gesture which they never guessed would turn into reality.
I can hear Putin laughing from here.

I can’t really get too worked up over a reactionary minority with a long history of anti-Soviet collaboration, dating back to the October Revolution. Their hostility to the Slavs seems to date from day one. The Russians came to pay it back; their centuries of warfare against Muscovy kept the memory of their Mongol origins strong. The period of their enforced fealty is called “the Mongol yoke.”
The connection of the Tatar nationalists with reality appears marginal.
The dubious claim of sovereignty their brief modern state made for two months following the October Revolution seemed to rest on the notion that they had dibs on the Crimean Peninsula, having conquered it fair and square. But somehow their own defeat at the hands of the Russians in the 1770’s doesn’t count.
The Crimean Tatars came into being as they came into possession of Crimea during the fragmentation of the Mongol conquests in Eurasia.
The indigenous Scythians and Tauri were displaced by Greeks, Goths, and Kievan Russians before the Mongols conquered it in the course of taking and plundering Kiev in 1240. As the khanate fragmented into several rival khanates over succession, the Crimea obtained their title in early 1400’s, and came under the protection and later sovereignty of the Ottomans, who appointed later khans.
This accented the Turkic element in the post-Mongol invasion ethnic mix (it sopped up a few small Italian trading towns set up in the disarray along with Slavs and vestigial Greeks into the gene pool), the Mongols having previously acquired Turks via conquests in Central Asia.
And in the finest traditions of the steppes, they developed a brisk slave trade in East European Slavs, plundering them from Russia and the Ukraine. Srdja Trifkovic at Chronicles Magazine says of the Khanate, “Enriched in the slave trade, they did not produce anything of lasting value, artistically, intellectually, or architecturally.”
The author reports that they took some three million people during their rule, considerably retarding the economic development of Eastern Europe, and that after the Russian re-conquest, this whole area became the breadbasket of Europe. Trifkovic notes the Tatars traditionally dim view of the Slavs fit nicely with the Nazis concept of Untermenschen.
The Russians are a bit sensitive to the accusations of inherent backwardness often proffered by the West. Trifkovic quotes the liberal historian and Kadet politician Klyuchevsky:

If you consider how much time and spiritual and material strength was wasted in the monotonous, brutal, toilsome and painful pursuit of these wily steppe predators, one need not ask what people in Eastern Europe were doing while those of Western Europe advanced in industry and commerce, in civil life and in the arts and sciences.

There was a brief flowering of Tatar nationalism in the very short-lived Crimean Peoples Republic, the first in a succession of some half-dozen governments during the course of the Russian Revolution and Civil War. It’s Wiki is a quick read.
The state was established by the Qurultay, a Tatar traditional council (though in this case, not elders summoned by the khan but elected by the Tatars by county, and including 4 women in its 76 members) in November 1917, after consultations and support from Ukrainian nationalists. They only formed about 1/3 of the population, the bulk of it being Russian and Ukrainian (33 pct. and 11 pct.) There was a call for an All-Crimean Constitutional Assembly, but the six-man cabinet, named by the Qurultay, was exclusively Tatar.
Since detachments from the Black Sea Fleet had captured the entire peninsula and its new government by January 1918, I don’t think it ever met, and I see no evidence of support for the Republic by the other Crimean peoples. This underlying source from a Crimean Tatar news blog for the Wiki makes it clear that, as one of the Ukrainian nationalists advised them, Crimean independence “depended on the firm actions of the Crimean Tatars.” The Russian and Ukrainian populations, like the sailors, tended to support the Bolsheviks.

Why does it all matter? First, a long history of work with Ukrainian nationalists. Second, there’s a growing alliance between Erdogan and Kiev. Erdogan is supporting the Tatars, including aiding in the formation of Tatar militia. It was they and the fascist militias that launched the blockade of Crimea earlier in the spring.
I would allow — it is the Kiev-authorized politicians of the Meijlis, and certainly not the whole or even majority of the population.

Israel releases West Bank arsonist from prison

Israel has freed Meir Ettinger, an Israeli settler who was behind the burning to death of a Palestinian family in the occupied West Bank.
The 24-year-old settler was arrested in August 2015 for leading Israeli attackers who firebombed a Palestinian home and killed three members of the family. The victims were an 18-month-old boy and his parents.
Israel’s security agency, also known as Shin Bet, declined to say why Ettinger was being released.

Strikes spread to all nuclear plants in France

France’s union workers plan to begin rolling strikes in the power sector, including at all nuclear plants as part of nationwide protests against contentious labor reforms.
Members of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) union voted to down tools at all 19 nuclear power plants on Thursday.
Earlier, pilots at Air France announced that they were planning a walkout for up to four days at the end of the next week.
The call came on top of an open-ended rail strike which began across the country earlier on Wednesday.
The strikes in the transportation sector can create massive travel disruptions as the month-long Euro 2016 soccer tournament starts.
Last week, oil sector workers also joined the nationwide strike, which led to refinery shutdowns, blockade of fuel depots and fuel supply disruption.
The French government has refused to scrap the bill, with Prime Minister Manuel Valls saying he will not bow to protests.
President Francois Hollande has also repeatedly stressed that the reform package would not be withdrawn despite stiff opposition and numerous protests.

A new French government soon? The French people are impressing the hell out of me. Hope lots of other Americans are paying attention, a lot to learn here.
