Hersh On The Osama Raid

What does Seymour Hersh know that we do not know?

Seymour Hersh on Obama, NSA and the 'pathetic' American media

Don't even get him started on the New York Times which, he says, spends "so much more time carrying water for Obama than I ever thought they would" – or the death of Osama bin Laden. "Nothing's been done about that story, it's one big lie, not one word of it is true," he says of the dramatic US Navy Seals raid in 2011.

You've appointed yerself Chief Ankle-Biter this evening then?

The Big Chihuahua, that's you, eh?

Posted by: hmm | Sep 28 2013 23:31 utc | 101

Nah....I'm nobody. Just feel like a bit of a giggle.

Posted by: dh | Sep 28 2013 23:32 utc | 102

and I'm starting to see you as an endless source of entertainment.

Posted by: dh | Sep 28 2013 23:33 utc | 103

until one or both of us gets banned that is. Let's see what b thinks.

Posted by: dh | Sep 28 2013 23:35 utc | 104

Hahaha " I'm telling teach!" -what are ya, 12?

You ankle biters tried that route already,

But you go for it, sport.

Posted by: hmm | Sep 28 2013 23:39 utc | 105

You're a smartass no doubt. But ultimately very boring.

Posted by: dh | Sep 28 2013 23:45 utc | 106

Reading through these threads, it is truly amazing what an obnoxious self-obsessed asshole hmm is. If we were all conversing over drinks, he woulda had the shit beat out of him before the first round was consumed.

Posted by: PissedOffAmerican | Sep 29 2013 0:52 utc | 107

The thing is POA, smartass is very well read. In fact he probably knows everything. We are very fortunate that he deigns to give us the benefit of his superior intellect.

Posted by: dh | Sep 29 2013 1:09 utc | 108

OK, guys,

the telegraph isn't exactly what I call a reputable reference but citing a 10 year old article doesn't necessarily constitute clownery. It might be - and I think in this case it is a useful bit of reminder/information on earlier events which are related to what's happening today.

And @hmmm

you seem to make it really easy to dislike you or to at least not take you as a enjoyable participant in the discussion. Come on, man, you can do better.

OBL DIED IN DECEMBER 2001 Theres a picture of him @ whatreallyhappened.com (in his gallery of fake bin Ladens) of him taken late 2001 - he looks like shit & close to collapsing (imho) ALL photos since then have been fake. The press in the M.E. published death notices and even Fox News (yeah yeah I know) announced his death . . . then quickly UNannounced it ! Weeks before her assasination, Benazir Bhutto told David Frost in a TV interview that bin Laden was dead - killed by Sheik Omar from memory. David Frost didn't bat an eyelid - just kept going not even a "where did you hear that" or a "did you just say what I thought you did?" He'd been in the American Hospital in Dubai in july 2001 where he was visited by the CIA head of station, for dialysis treatment. I think he snuffed it in the mountains of Nothern Afghanistan - wouldn't have been much dialysis treatment up there

"The thing is POA, smartass is very well read. In fact he probably knows everything"

I once had a girlfriend that had two doctorate degrees. She knew everything.

But she didn't know Jack Shit.

Posted by: PissedOffAmerican | Sep 29 2013 2:15 utc | 111

She knew enough to wanna be yer ex.

Sounds clever enough to me.

You trolls sure are obsessive.

Posted by: hmm | Sep 29 2013 2:18 utc | 112

@108

Well when yer getting trolled by ankle-biters one has to occassionally take pre-emptive measures. So far in this thread alone I 've had to dodge the slobering attentions of 2 bonnie tylers and 2 feral chihuahuas.

Posted by: hmm | Sep 29 2013 2:23 utc | 113

ROFLMAO!!! Now I'm a "troll" to this insipid little self-obsessed prick.

Fact is, asshole, you're making this blog unpleasant, with your non-stop obnoxious egotistical crap. Is anyone else on this blog recieving the amount of criticism and dissent against your monopolizing drivel?

Fuck off, you pathetic ass. You really don't know when to shut the fuck up, do you?

Posted by: PissedOffAmerican | Sep 29 2013 2:24 utc | 114

Actually one of the bonnie tylers was fairly feral too, imo

Posted by: hmm | Sep 29 2013 2:26 utc | 115

She knew enough to wanna be yer ex.

That, hmmm, is solidly and clearly below the belt.

And just btw. if we made a poll who is considered an enjoyable and smart commenter here, POA would comfortably get way more votes than you.

I don't know about the others but as far as I'm concerned you *are* an asshole unless you apologize for that dirt quoted above and otherwise focus considerably more on matters and issues rather than on the people here.

Posted by: Mr. Pragma | Sep 29 2013 2:32 utc | 116

Agree Mr. Pragma,

hmm is really tiresome...

I think we have to see Greenwald and Scahill here, like Seymour Hersh for many years before them, as under CIA protection. CIA enjoys beating up on other intelligence agencies, and on the Pentagon. But protection is not absolute. Anyone who trusts any intelligence agency to protect him against another is taking a major risk:

Greenwald & Scahill team up for project on NSA
Jenny Barchfield, AP, Sep 28 2013

RIO DE JANEIRO — Glenn Greenwald and Jeremy Scahill said Saturday they've teamed up to report on the NSA's role in what one called a "US assassination program." The journalists provided no evidence of the purported US program at the news conference, nor details of who it targeted... (etc)

Posted by: Rowan Berkeley | Sep 29 2013 5:07 utc | 120

Careful rowan. You are possibly having original thoughts.

There's a chunk of people around here that don't like that. Especially not about sacred cows like Greenwald. They'd rather you only have thoughts pre-approved by them or at least thoughts that are not original.

Posted by: hmm | Sep 29 2013 10:26 utc | 121

Here you see the insipid and obnoxious little egotist trying to advance the thought that his "original thinking" is under attack, rather than the arrogant and argumentative crap that he litters this blog with, ad nauseum.

So here at moonofalabama, (hmm would have you believe), is a "chunk of people" unable to engage in original thought, and working to stifle the "original thought" of the unique and all knowing original thinkers such as himself.

Well, anyone else, besides the pretentious and boring little prick known as "hmm" see moonofalabama and its participants in the same light as he does?

Its time to stop putting up with his horseshit, b. He's ruining the comment section here.

Here's an idea - how about you kids going off & starting your own blog or facescratch page & slag each other off there !! Would make it easier for ordinary ppl to read through or follow the comments that are more intelligent or thought provoking than most of what you lot have contributed the last 36 hours.

@ #24 Watson In total agreement that is what would've happened (if he'd been alive to do it too). The body buried @ sea as per custom . . . ppfff. . . A custom of a religion which originated in some of the hottest desert areas on the planet ! Who comes up with this shit. I see Seal Team 6 which allegedly did the snatch/arrest/rendition/whatever seem to have suffered rather significant losses since the event, from CO's suiciding down to helicopters full of them falling out of the sky. Hmmmm

B.

You have a wonderful blog.

Hmm is soiling your comments section.

Could you tell him to junk the fifth-grade
antics and insults?

Many thanks.

Here's another version of the date and circumstances of Osama's demise and background for the Abbottabad raid coming from a comment at Boiling Frogs. (Search for or scroll down to "netter"'s comment.) I'd be grateful to anyone who could provide a translation for the Russian video and documentation given there, or offer further information about Berkan Yaşar. As usual, Caveat lector.

For anyone still following this thread, and still scratching his head about what exactly Seymour Hersh was suggesting, I recommend returning to the original Guardian article to see the addendum (at end):

http://www.theguardian.com/media/media-blog/2013/sep/27/seymour-hersh-obama-nsa-american-media

Hersh explicitly disavows that he was suggesting that the Abbottabad raid was a hoax. It was clearly way too much to expect Hersh to speak the truth.
